A restless night

It was a rough day. You were a week off and Henry was filming Enola Holmes 2 so wasn’t home. You haven’t seen Henry for 2 weeks now. He would come home late and be gone before you woke up, or you had to go up early. You missed your bear, especially today. It started in the afternoon. You crawled back into bed, feeling exhausted and in pain from being so tense. The medication was supposed to make you calmer and feel sleepy but right now you didn’t feel anything except more anxiety. It had gotten so bad that it turned into a panic attack. You got downstairs and tried to rationalize but it wasn’t working. You felt the tears streaming over your face. Kal patted your way and nudged your leg. You scratched his head and walked to the couch. Only on rare occasions, was Kal allowed on the couch. You didn’t even say anything but Kal was already next to you on the couch with his head on your lap.

Your tea was steaming on the table while you cuddled with Kal. You had put on some stupid tv show in hopes that it might distract you but nothing worked and it all got worse. You knew it was going over in a panic attack. You turned the tv off and put your earphones in and put some music on, reading some stories online until you finally fell asleep on the couch. Kal was laying besides you, your arm around the big Akita.

Henry opened the door to your shared home and to his surprise the lights were still on. He frowned since it was very late and was wondering why you were still up. “Pup?” he asked softly, not wanting to be loud but also not wanting to silent. “Puppy?” he asked again. He frowned even more, wondering why Kal didn’t came to him to greet him until he walked in the livingroom. His heart sunk when he saw your form on the couch with Kal besides it, who was waggling his tail softly but didn’t leave his spot.

Henry walked over to you and saw that you had your earphones in. He petted Kal softly on his head and let out a soft sigh. He still didn’t really know why you were sleeping on the couch but the way Kal didn’t want to leave your side told him enough. He softly went with his hand over your hair. You stirred a little and your heart started to pound again.

You opened your eyes from the panic and anxiety that came rushing back. You quickly sat up and saw Henry with a soft look on his face. You got your earphones out. “Hi pup, what’s going on?” he asked you softly as he cupped your cheek softly. “I don’t know… just a lot of anxiety and panic attacks. I don’t know why, they’re just here.” Henry nodded and you started to feel even more sick. Your stomach was your weak spot.

You quickly got up and rushed to the toilet to throw everything out. God you haven’t felt this miserable in a long time. Henry quickly took his coat off while he walked towards you. Your anxiety was away for a very long while along with your panic attacks but right now, it all seemed to come back at a rapid speed and all at once.

You flushed the toilet once you were done. “Let’s get you freshened up huh pup?” he suggested and you nodded. Henry helped you go upstairs. You got to the bathroom and brushed your teeth again while Henry got some comfortable clothes and placed it in the corner of the bathroom. “Do you think you can sleep?” he asked you but already knew the answer. You shook your head and Henry gave you a soft sympathetic smile. “Okay baby, why don’t you wait while I take a shower.” you nodded and sat down on the toilet seat, your legs tucked towards your chest.

You looked at Henry who was showering at a rapid speed so he could be with you again. You felt your heart flutter at the sight but it quickly got replaced with anxiety again. Henry got out of the shower and gave you a soft smile while he quickly touched your chin in a comforting manner “unclench your jaw sweet princess” he told you before he got back to drying himself up. Henry put the comforting clothes on and held out his hand for you. You already felt a bit better just by his presence. You both got downstairs and Henry already knew that you didn’t want to leave his side so he took you with him to the kitchen so he could make you both a new cup of tea. Henry helped you jump up on the kitchen counter while you waited. He turned his focus to you and cupped your cheek softly. You could tell he was tired but he still chose you over everything. His eyes held a soft gaze “Since when did it start again princess?” he asked you. “Since today. Just got really bad at a fast pace.” You told him and he nodded softly. He got his phone out to send a text message to someone, which made you curious.

“How about, we watch a movie and tomorrow, we’ll take it easy or do whatever you want.” You looked puzzled at him. “Aren’t you supposed to work tomorrow?” he shook his head with a soft smile. “No, I just canceled. I have room to take a day off besides, you’re more important and you need me right now.” he told you and placed a quick kiss on your nose before turning away to make the tea.

“Oh and don’t you dare to feel guilty pup. I want to be with you.” you got a sad smile. Henry knew you too well for this. You slid off the counter and couldn’t help but wrap your arms around him, your head resting on his back. Henry softly raised his eyebrow “I’ve missed you so much daddy.” You told him softly. Henry smiled lovingly and got your arms a bit off of him so he could turn around and give you a proper hug. “I’ve missed you too sweetheart, so much.” He kissed your forehead “Let’s get the tea to the table and cuddle on the couch” he told you and got the tea while you walked with him.

He placed the tea on the table and sat down, looking at you and hinted to get into his lap. You sat down sideways, your head resting against his shoulder. He got a blanket and wrapped it around the two of you. You looked up at Henry, who looked down at you and he placed a delicate, soft kiss on your lips. Once he pulled away, he got you closer to his chest and he wrapped his strong arms around you, placing another kiss on the side of your head.
