It's funny, when you think about what matters to The Witcher "We just want it to stay faithful to the books" crowd.

Season 1 of The Witcher had jumps in time and messed with the ages of Geralt and Yennefer. Both don't age but their ages are different in the books.

Season 1 of The Witcher made Jaskier brown haired (He's actually blond in the novels).

Season 1 of the Witcher changed which parent Yennefer's elfish bloodline came from.

Jaskier wrote songs that do not exist in the books.

Jaskier's bard cap with feather doesn't exist in The Witcher Netflix series.

In season 2 of The Witcher Yennefer was tempted by a Baba Yaga inspired character (who didn't even exist in the books) to sacrifice Ciri to get her powers back. The entire scenario never happened in the books.

Season 2 of The Witcher features Jaskier writing a breakup song about Geralt that doesn't exist in the books.

Season 2 of The Witcher has Jaskier take on a persona known as The Sandpiper to smuggle people safely away from those that mean them harm. His Sandpiper persona doesn't even exist in the books.

Also in Season 2 of The Witcher one of Geralt's friends, a fellow Witcher, is portrayed with a very different personality from what he had in the books and gets killed off. This also never happened in the books.

Even the way the Beauty and the Beast-esque story played out changed Geralt's reaction to everything and put Ciri there when she wasn't there in the original version.

But Jaskier gets revealed as bisexual and has an infatuation with someone who gets revealed as evil and that evil character is now decades older than he was in the books and suddenly there's a pearl clutch "But the source material!" and "But he was straight in the books! This MUST be the reason Henry Cavill left!"

Yeah, because I'm Suuuure the reason Henry Cavill quit a TV series that already heavily deviated from the books its based on, was because his sidekick character was revealed as being bisexual. Because THAT is what was most important to him! Riiiiight.

You know, I'm highly suspicious of the notion that you just want book accuracy...

It is May 5, 2024 excellent I think checking my Time Machine enable watch mechanism glows on the screen then vanishing from my sight.

Today is his birthday perfect just as planned I tap the screen watching the device fall off of my wrist forming a box in the palm of my hand.

I glee with excitement throwing the ball on to the fully carpet covered room the impact of it hitting the ground erupts in a mid bright light.

Stepping in to the fray he is deeply in heavy slumber after a long day on set so I take my time bidding it I walk to the closet opening it to view.

Getting a gander of the geekiness around him leaves me both perplex and in total type of judgement but I can see he does love tee shirts and jeans.

He loves to build sets, gaming computer but he is still vain I can see the painting he has obviously commissioned of himself prior to my arrival.

The plan is quite simple to actually with

very little effort deeply probe his brain in array of laser colors that maps the brains waves stimulating it in hypnosis waves.

Anyway! I slowly creep on to the bed slowly slipping past him holding the head board I raise myself up and dig in my pockets for the device.

Retrieving it a tiny circular device placing it on to the wall, I press the button let’s blare

a light scanning the room three more exact copies lays on the other three walls.

All four devices radiate light over entirety

of the massive master bedroom bouncing multiple colors schemes the commencing

the brainwashing.

I click the side of my watch then turn it to the side transforming him from the room as he switches him with an entirely new entity into the room.

The man stood in the dark watch the beam of light washes on to his face from all sides of the room and the figure moves a closer to the edge of the board.

In a matter of ten minutes Henry who is half asleep at this point feeling something is off tries to wake up fighting off every urge to

drift back asleep.

Above his bed from a ceiling remote flew in to the figures hands as he smirked with evil intent and he enjoys true power exchange like no other in history.

He excitedly presses the giant red button that is marked induction instinctively his press gets harder as it is layered with a pleasure point.

Reaching the optimal level the devices flip off the wall landing on Henry’s head like a helmet forming in resistance or his fatal retaliation.

The helmet projects a unique screen in a map scenario detailing his brain from top

to stem revealing how it works he checks out remote once more.

Pressing a second button marked dreamy without a thought Henry drops a million times deeper from a garden picnic a hole opens swallowing him whole.

Descending down from the sky a portal is opening falling through his nerdy side of his brain show cases with binary code I created on the wall.

He is left absolutely mouth agape in his and only his poor dark mind adrift with every set of memories he has ever experienced play on autopilot a thousand times over.

Meanwhile! The world past his domain can sense his own self destruction finding his way through the interface he arrives on the main page.

A few more buttons a photo copy appears of Henry Cavill showing how his beautiful masculine features sculpted to perfection some would say.

Name written in it’s officially changed to his bitchy highness Pretty Pussy Boi to his own hysterics it is truly funny for life because he controls him now.

Robotic arms pop from the device feeling him over ripping his clothes from his body then his underwear and seething in pain, pleasure and torture.

Preview of a long oneshot which is a reworking of the setup in Homecoming/Seven Minutes in Heaven which follows the whole "fake dating" scenario between Mabel and Bill in more detail as requested by @korla-the-kenku This bit is just a rework of the first bit of Homecoming which now comes with more humour, Candy and Grenda, and a nice build up to Bill's namedrop. Aiming to have the whole thing out by next week? (We shall see). Haven't got a title for this thing yet.

Mabel Pines, seventeen years old, was proud of who she was. (Even if who she was got classed as “weird” by many of her peers). But so what? The teenager didn’t pay any mind to the whispers behind her back when she made up her own songs and dances in the school hallways; nor did she care when the popular girls giggled and pointed in her direction on the days she wore her homemade sweaters. 

She was weird, and proud of it! And she wasn’t going to change for anyone, let alone a bunch of mean classmates she wouldn’t ever see or hang out with again after graduation.

....Still, when Pacifica Northwest, the most popular girl in town, made constant needling comments every chance she could get, Mabel would be lying if she didn’t say she was frustrated. She may or may not have wished on more than one occasion that the girl would wake up with the biggest pimple on the end of her nose but so far her wishing skills hadn’t mounted to much so she obviously didn’t have that secret superpower.

And when Pacifica had mocked her love life and lack of a date to Homecoming in front of a whole crowd of people, Mabel may have snapped. Just a teensy little bit. Really, it wasn’t that big a deal!

“Actually, I do have a date! And he's great and handsome and even better than your boyfriend, Pacifica!”

Okay, it was a big deal.

‘Urghhhh, why did I say that guys? Whyyyyyyy!?’ The teenager slowly hit her head against her locker repeatedly. Maybe if she did this enough times she’d get minor brain damage and be excused from school for the rest of the year. That would get her out of this conundrum of her own making.

‘You need to stop letting Pacifica get to you,’ Candy replied, swapping out books in her own locker beside. ‘So what if we don’t have dates? It’ll be a fun night either way with just us girls.’

Mabel groaned. ‘You weren’t there. I really exaggerated just how great my date was.’

Grenda, stood on the other side, raised an eyebrow. ‘Like how great? Zac Efron great?’

‘Surely not Chris Hemsworth great?’ Candy asked, starting to look concerned when Mabel didn’t respond immediately.

The brunette glanced down at her feet. ‘More like Henry Cavill great.’

Both girls gasped, grabbing her by the arm and shaking the brunette frantically.

‘But Mabel, we don’t even know anyone that great!’ Candy cried.

‘Yeah, and you’re like the furthest from having a date or boyfriend. Are you forgetting that you got turned down twice last month?’ Grenda added in.

‘Actually, it was three times,’ Candy quipped in as Mabel slouched further and further down between them, expression grim.

‘Gee, thanks.’

Candy offered an apologetic smile. ‘I think you have dug your own grave here, Mabel. I am not sure how we can help you with this one.’

Mabel sighed dramatically. ‘Yeah….’ She’d definitely sealed her fate with the last comment. Pacifica was dating the high school quarterback in typical cliché fashion, and he was a beautiful hottie wrapped up in like, even more hottiness! How was she meant to top that!?

As the bell went off and the trio began making their way to the next class, Candy patted Mabel sympathetically on the shoulder. ‘It will be alright, we have one more year and then we can leave. Right?’

The smaller girl glanced aside to her friend for agreement but found Grenda deep in thought which was unusual. 

‘Grenda?’

The large girl came to a stop, looking towards the pair. She looked serious. ‘Mabel, how badly do you want to one-up Pacifica?’

Sensing the tense atmosphere, Mabel straightened up with imploring eyes as she raised her fists. ‘I’ll do whatever it takes.’

Grenda nodded, placing a firm hand on her shoulder whilst leaning in. ‘Then there’s only one boy I can think of that will work.’

Mabel grinned widely, excitement bubbling in her stomach at the prospect of actually pulling this off. ‘Who!?’

A deep breath. ‘Bill Cipher.’

And just like that the bubble popped, and instead of excitement, it was only uneasiness and anxiety that flowed out. The teenager’s grin faded, and her imploring gaze was now one begging her friend to say “psyche!”. 

But the "psyche" never came. Instead, Candy also placed a hand on the brunette’s other shoulder, offering only a smile of condolence.

‘Good luck, Mabel.’

Personality and Traits

Look overall once you’ve got to know him a bit and have a few chats, he’s a pretty chill guy, easy-going. Loves a bit of chat or whinge every now and then over a few drinks. You wouldn’t know this at first though since he looks so done with everything and everyone in conjunction with his gruff voice constantly sighing or telling people to go fuck themselves.

In reality, if you catch him at a time when he’s not busy, he’ll be happy enough to have a chat with you (as long as you don’t get on his nerves), same applies for everyone else in the unit. Just for fun, I see him as a guy who likes listening to drama even though he says otherwise - “I don’t have time to care about stuff like that” as he recalls the info the next day.

Though don’t get me wrong, he can lash out quite easily thanks to his developing anger issues after being in the military for so many years as well as family issues I suppose…but he tries his best to control it and is seeking help over it, for the sake of himself and being a good role-model to others and his children.

Speaking of his unit, he can be an absolute hardass on them, putting them through the worse of the worse scenarios so that they’re prepared for anything as well as being an outstanding solider on the field. He just wants them to have the best chance of survival out on field, and all while being one of the oldest members in the unit, shares his many years of experience with them. In short: when training or on operations, he shows little to no mercy on his men, will yell and scream at them to get on top of their shit, and if they don’t, suffer consequences later.

With that being said, he just cares a lot for them like they’re his own, especially the more time they’ve taken to grow and work together. He will check in on them and see how they’re doing like mentally since he knows how taxing this job is on the mind. Sometimes when they’re back in Australia, he’ll take some of them out on trips (like fishing or like driving to a nice Airbnb somewhere) or to grab food.

Pre-MW

Lachlan was born in Perth, WA to his father (who was an ex-SASR solider) and his mother who was a primary school teacher. His upbringing was pretty standard, not much to comment on, went through school pretty smoothly and was in the Aus Army Cadets in high school.

The start of his military career started when he was young. His father was still in the SASR for majority of his childhood and so when he wasn’t on deployment, he would take Lachlan to base a lot, showing him the various equipment, medals and even letting him have a go on the range once he was old enough. After hearing stories from his father and seeing all his achievements, he really was influenced by him to sign up once he was old enough to.

He enlisted at 17/18 (2000), into the Aus. Army where he served as an infantryman for a couple of years before going for commando selection, approximately at age 22 (2004). His father wanted him to go for SASR selection instead to follow his own footsteps, but Lachlan decided that the commandos were more his style.

Sometime during the mid years of him joining the commandos, Lachlan marries his wife and has two children whom he loves dearly. Few years later, they do separate on good terms due to the both of them not being able to sacrifice time for one another, along with Lachlan’s long departures and just the entirety of his line of work in general. He was paranoid about something happening to his family just because of their ties with him. When on leave, they all do meet as much as they can, especially his children who he’ll take care of. In short, he loves his children so very much and does hope to rekindle things with his ex-wife once he leaves 2CDO.

Current Events – Modern Warfare

Just like Damien, he spends most of their time out in the Middle East – Urzikstan – following orders dished out from the Ministry of Defence, unless specifically called upon by Price.

2009: Lachlan joins Lieutenant Price alongside other SAS members to raid a Russian chemical lab whilst also saving Farah and her brother, Hadir.

2019: Seen in Piccadilly and Clean House alongside Damien, Gaz, and Price. Returns to Urzikstan with Damien.

2022: Violence and Timing: help rescue Kate Laswell from AQ fighters.

Sometime in the future: Lachlan states he’s getting a little old for the full-time commando job. He plans to retire from 2CDO and transition into 1CDO (reserve commandos), where he will primarily work in the West Australian Police Tactical Response Group (WAPOL TRG), focusing on domestic counterterrorism.

Involvement with 141

As previously stated, he doesn’t particularly work alongside TF141 very often UNLESS Price specifically asks for his and/or his team’s aid. He’s met some of the members before with Damien, but very rarely do they work together with the full task force.

The two actually go waaaaay back! They’ve been good friends for years, ever since they met at an exchange exercise between 2CDO and SAS when they were both just sergeants. I think they admire each other in the sense that they both hate following certain rules/orders that go against their own morals, so they’re both willing to go against them. They’ve worked together in many operations over the years, either side by side or across the globe, and have earned each other’s trust. In general, they do have similar personalities, but Lachlan is a bit more hot-headed.

In their downtime though, they love bantering. Particularly poking fun at each other’s hats…

 Lachlan has also gotten to know Gaz pretty decently too since he’s always by Price’s side in recent years. He and Price are always talking about Damien and Kyle like proud fathers ;’)

Another interesting note to add is Lachlan’s relationship with Simon Riley, rather than Ghost. There was a line in MWII suggesting Price knew Simon before he became Ghost, so taking reference from this, Lachlan has definitely met him before and has worked with him/trained him.

He could see that Simon was different from the rest of the SAS members in the sense that he was more quiet and observant, but above all, incredibly skilled in a multitude of things. He really took a liking to him – often calling him ‘kid’.

I don’t know Ghost’s lore in the reboot/if it’s the same as the OGs, however, you could imagine when Lachlan met up with Simon after a while he was taken aback by his new identity as Ghost. Of course, he was naturally inclined to ask why Simon had suddenly just changed, but he stopped himself when he looked at his overall demeanour. He knew something had bad happened but ultimately decided it was up to Ghost if he wanted to share.

Again, I don’t know how much Price knows about Ghost’s past but if he does, then Lachlan would too sometime later, either through Price dropping subtle queues or Ghost just outright telling him.

Fanfic Writer Wednesday

Hey-o! It’s officially my favorite day of the week again. The day I spend just a little more time than I usually do chatting up a fellow fic writer.

@ellethespaceunicorn​ is a lover of all things Henry and this makes them a-ok in my book. Elle is a newcomer on the Cavill fic scene, but they came on strong and put together a diverse masterlist in no time.

What I fell for was their Walter in Bright Like the Moon. but even though I’ve never seen The Man from U.N.C.L.E., they had me swooning for Love, Napoleon too! I can’t wait for the next installments of both these series.

You know what’s also awesome? Elle writes Black!OFCs with no apology. There are plenty of ways to write a character and to be able to infuse a little of ourselves into the stories we write is what fanfiction is all about. I love looking at all these scenes and scenarios from another perspective and still feeling drawn in and invested.

Why is corporations raceswapping existing characters considered original and creati

Inspired by WotC making Aaragorn black i gotta ask: Why do people call using the paintbucket tool on a character creative? If done by corporations, its almost always a sign of a LACK of creativity. I can count the shows that pulled raceswaps and were good on a hand, its three. Invincible (Amber to be specific, Mark and Debbie hardly changed visually), Wednesday (Gomez was never a Latino for those who dont know, i believe he was british or spanish) and the Witcher (its setting is pretty much fantasy medieval polen, pretty much every black character can be considered a raceswap if hes supposed to be from the region and not a far away land) And best case scenario, the raceswap in those shows didnt change anything and were utterly useless. Worst case scenario (Amber) the character was further changed along their race to the point it harmed the show. Amber went from a ditzy and likable (alpeid forgettable and bland) blonde ditz to a seemingly manipulative black feminist who intentionally guilttrips her boyfriend and harms his reputation with INTENTIONAL false accusations.

Latino Gomez didnt add anything to the story and the only real issue that i have with him is that he lacks the Gomez energy/passion as if he was severly drugged with valium or something like that (and that he seemingly has an Issue with how Wednesday is, which is kinda against the idea behind the Addams family, but Mortica is a worse offender in that) And oh boy, witcher.... Literally carried by Henry Caville who was a fan of the books and games and had to constantly lecture the producers about stuff they got wrong (because they simply didnt care) who also just so happened to put black people into low magic medival poland (because they literally dont care and maybe even wanted to use black actors as a shield should the show flops (well see after season 3 comes out)) So yeah, someone explain to me how raceswaps by corporations like WotC hasnt become a giant red fleg for writing and creativity like a chinese character called chink And before someone says "Because its not about the lack of creativity! The people that criticise the raceswap are racist!" Arcane had dones of black people and a lesbian couple amongst its main characters and i didnt see anyone talk bad about it. The people complaining about raceswaps included, because arcane had actual creativity and talent and didnt use black characters as a critizism shield

So I write stupid, bullshit scenarios in my head that'll never happen, right? My running one is I'm an actress and have worked on a movie with Henry Cavill and we're doing the press thing together. They range from silly to anxiety-fueled. Honestly depends on my mood.

Anywho.

This is one I came up with while I was making (regular) brownies. You'll understand why I made that distinction if you keep reading. I put it under a Keep Reading because why not

Interviewer: So, it was said a lot that you two formed quite the friendship while filiming.

Me: Yeah, he's a cool dude. I mean, he's a massive nerd, but in a cool kinda way

Henry Cavill: Gee thanks. Dork.

Me: Loser

Henry Cavill: Ass

Interviewer: Do you guys have any stories about something that may have happened during filming?

Me: I have one, during those six months we spent in Denver.

Henry Cavill: Oh god.

Me: You want to tell it, or should I?

Henry Cavill: *sigh* No, I'll do it. It'll sound less sus coming from the injured party. To preface, instead of staying in hotels or what have you during those six months, Cate and I decided to just rent an apartment. A small two-bedroom in the suburbs of Denver.

Interviewer: You two lived together?

Me: Yeah, why not. We signed a six-month lease and we were good.

Henry Cavill: Now, everything was good, everything was fine. About a month in, I get back to the apartment from filming, they didn't need her that day, and there's a tray of brownies on the kitchen island. Rule was, if it was a baked good on the island, it was fair game. I was on a very strict diet for the role, but it was brownies and I had a long day.

Interviewer: How many did you have?

Henry Cavill: Almost all of them, but that's not the point. There was another tray, however, kind of off to the side on the counter by the oven and not the island. I didn't think anything of it so I had a couple. Then I noticed they tasted funny.

Interviewer: Okay...

Me: Keep in mind, I had no idea he was back. I had my headset on and was listening to music. It wasn't until he came into my room after the fact and kinda wiggled my chair a bit to get my attention that I found out. I turned around and he asked "The brownies on the counter and not the island, what was in them?"

Henry Cavill: Her eyes went wide and she asked me "How many did you have?" I told her three. So I asked again "What was in them?"

Me: To which I replied "We're in Colorado. What do you think was in them?"

Interviewer: Oh no

Me: He told me he had to be back on set in an hour, I told him not anymore you don't and he better lay down.

Interviewer: You drugged him.

Me: N-N-No! He drugged himself. They weren't on the island and therefore not fair game. This all happened before I had the chance to tell him the other ones were special and should be eaten in moderation and under supervision.

Henry Cavill: It was rough.

Me: He got very giggly. It was actually kind of adorable.
