MYRAH YAMAZAKI is a Japanese K-pop idol and global icon based in South Korea. She made her initial debut in the rotational girl group ALLUME in 2005 as the group's leader and lead vocalist until her generation's graduation in 2010. Myrah is often credited for making ALLUME as popular as they are, achieving international stardom during this time for her strong attitude and natural star quality. Her run in Allume would be dubbed "Myrah and Friends" by fans due her popularity often overshadowing her groupmates.

Myrah would immediately begin a solo career after her 2010 graduation, destroying both the Korean charts and Japanese charts with the mini album HAUTE TOPIC. HAUTE TOPIC would break records for having all four tracks debut in the Top 10 on Melon. Moonlight, Chase Me, Starlight, and Kitty Kat would all break into the top ten and remain there for a solid five months. Myrah's solo career would be proflic and global, debuting in Japan shortly after her Korean solo debut where she would destroy the charts there as well. She would be the highest-performing Flowerbank soloist ever until the acquisition of Baebi's contract in 2023.

Myrah is still a high profile celebrity, starring in a handful of blockbuster films, critically acclaimed dramas, and becoming the face of many luxury brands through out the years. She is also the head of the creative board in Flowerbank Entertainment, owning an impressive amount of stocks in the company. She has been the host of the radio show AllTalkMe for over ten years now, keeping her and Allume relevant over the years.

One of her first viral moments as an actress was in 2016 during the press tour for A Man and a Woman with her co-star Gong Yoo. Myrah and Gong Yoo would go on to have a public relationship that would often have them going viral for their cute and funny moments. To fans' dismay, the pair would split in late 2020.

When she snatched Sooah's mic from her during a concert, singing her lines and high notes. "My mic wasn't working. It's not like she sings much anyways," Myrah would go on to say in an interview, fueling the fire of rumors about the two having a feud during their time in Allume. After this, Sooah would noticeably clutch her microphone whenever Myrah would walk by her.

"How could I not like her? I've never spoken to her. I love 2ne1. Shut up." Myrah would shut down rumors of her and CL of 2ne1 having beef, telling a fan to shut up when they spoke negatively of her. Shot in glorious 2009 iPhone quality, the video would make its round around the internet. A week later, Myrah would post a selfie with CL on her blog with the caption "My bestiiiiii~ ^-^ <3" and the two are still close to this day.

She put her hand up in Gdragon's face when he attempted to sing to her at the 2013 MAMA Awards. It was a lighthearted interaction, Myrah laughing the whole time, but the internet took it differently and deemed her "a rude bitch" and VIPS would begin to harass her. This would have very little effect on Myrah as she would go on to post a couple of photos of her with T.O.P and Gdragon in the studio with the caption: "I lovvveee rappers!! (*^^*)♡"

"She's a bitch! A hot one though!" Myrah would shout out her car window when she was escorted out of a club by Flowerbank CEO Kim Iseul. Myrah was a bit of a club-goer post-Allume, often having to be picked up by friends or, on rare occasions, her CEO. When asked by paparazzi about her thoughts on Iseul having to pick her up, prompting her to say her now most iconic line.

im gonna be honest, we dont have many bobby hcs (i really wanna change that, i fucking ADORE bobby - and, if its any help, i actually have a fic up ((dont look back in anger)) where he’s a main character!! although its an au, i hope it’ll suffice for now :3)

- bobby is definitely a prankster, but like, hes NOTORIOUS for it. and not in the bad way. he has silly pranks that only mildly inconvenience the person on the receiving end (like the dumping water on lmq and cals heads after races) and he’s Always at the scene of the crime when something silly happens. he just Is the embodiment of silly. and yes i know this is canon for the most part but hes literally just so silly i cant not include it

- hes the youngest of the trio, the baby, even, he’s a december baby, born in 1988 (same year as lightning - cal is an ‘87 baby i believe - so when bobby started racing in 2007 he was still 18) but just at the End, whereas lightning was born in may . despite this he’s still the tallest, and probably the most well built of the three . aka lightning is scrawny and cal is just Average. and when lightning makes fun of him for being a Baby hes like ok well ure literally short as hell. what about that. huh? what can you do about your height? i’ll have a birthday but you dont have a get taller day? huh? and lightnings like. well. okay.

- i feel like he befriended cal first, like, he and lightning “hated” each other but it was less hate and more lightning being incapable of making friends (lmq and cal met at the infield care center after strips crash, so they were friends ever since then) and so cal was just in the middle of this “rivalry” that was in reality like. hey. cal. i think that bobby guy is really cool do u think he’d wanna be my friend. and cals like I DONT KNOW TALK TO HIM? and they talk and theyre like wow i actually thought u hated me (theyre best friends now)

- bobby both has an iconic autograph, but hes also so good with his fans its impossible for anyone to hate him. he has so many iconic pictures and literally everyone he meets praises him for his kindness and blatant silliness . hes just super easy going and generally amazing to be around

- out of all the racers hes probably got the most amusing advertisements as well, he will go ALL IN for whatever octane gain (or his smaller/secondary sponsors) want from him, and its so Genuine it just feels like he LOVES to be there

- he loves taylor swift. AND I KNOW WHAT YOURE GONNA SAY. “ITS STEREOTYPICAL” BUT NO U DONT GET IT.. SHE DOESNT MATCH THE REST OF HIS MUSIC TASTE AT ALL. hes the last person you’d ever expect to listen to her. he says its because they have the same last name so hes obligated to be a fan, but also the day Taylor Swift (album) debuted he bought the dvd and forced the other two to listen to the entire thing multiple times on a road trip and its safe to say that since the day taylor swift has existed, lightning and cal have feared her album release dates.

- hes the burnout king. every race he wins he will do a burnout down the frontstretch in front of the grandstands that will take his tires down to the RIMS. the tire marbles are INSANE

lol, I can’t believe some people are still hanging on that ideal type question.

1. If you’ve been into kpop for a little bit of time, you know every idol has to answer that question at some point, it’s one of those that’s always been asked. And the answer expected is always a description of the opposite sex. We’re talking about Korea here, it’s not the West, there’s been many discussions about it on this blog, it’s still really conservative.

2. Jungkook was young, he was a fan of IU, he gave her name. That’s what was expected, and it was easy as he didn’t have to elaborate. So what. Now, maybe he did have a crush on her (she’s stunning let’s be honest), but personally I’ve never perceived an ounce of attraction to women when it comes to him. I find him quite obviously gay, but who knows. So I think he just went with an easy answer.

3. I still remember him been asked that same question during their debut days (correct me if I’m wrong) and he said something like his ideal type being a girl with well-balanced muscles who wear oversized clothes, something along those lines. Which made some people go 🤨 because even though he could indeed be into muscular women it’s definitely not a common answer especially when you consider Korean beauty standards, even more so at that time. It was a bit unusual and if I’m not mistaken the members teased him about it in the interview (I need to find it I can’t remember it very well).

4. Has everybody already forget JK insta Q&A and when he got asked who was his fav between two female leads of a k-drama airing at the time (can’t remember the title) and he answered… with the name of the male lead?? I feel like everybody has been ignoring that… though I know some said that he answered that to avoid any rumor… hahahaha as if he wasn’t the one who chose to answer that specific question! They always assume he’s some kind of naive or dumb guy, it drives me crazy.

Anway, I could go on and on and on. In my opinion, if Jungkook was asked that ideal type question thingy nowadays, his answer might surprise us. It would not be gendered, I’m willing to bet on that.

um hello!! im very new to comics, but of the characters I’ve seen so far, I really like Barbara and I was just wondering if you had any comic recommendations on where to start..? its very confusing trying to get into it all, but I’d like to be able to hold a conversation about someone I find interesting with my boyfriend so I can hear him info dump on me more cus he’s deep into dc so :)

Hi!!! That is so sweet omg 😭 Welcome to the weird wonderful world of comics!!! and also i’m so sorry for what I’m abt to throw at you lmao

Since you’ve sent this ask into an Oracle-centric blog, I’m gonna keep this rec list Oracle!Babs-centric (& also encourage my fellow mods to add on if they also have some recs!) I actually don’t have a whole lot of recs for Batgirl!Babs anyways, but I’ll be tagging my gen dc blog at the end in case you’d like to talk abt those or any other characters!

Also before I get Into the recs, I wanna give you some words of encouragement: there’s no right or wrong way to read! You’re also likely gonna have some well a lot of confusion at the beginning, esp bc there will be Events™️ that have ramifications™️ and you’re not always given full context of what’s come before or what’s happening concurrently with what you’re reading. I’ve been doing this for awhile and if I’ve learned anything, it’s that the more that you read & explore, the more fun you’ll have & the more things will usually start to make sense! But it’s all gotta start somewhere first! :D and you’ve def chosen a great character to be your launching point!

Im gonna be hopping around a bit in my recs here but I’ll try to keep it mostly in chronological order. That said, first up:

Suicide Squad (1987) - she appeared semi-regularly starting in #23! This was also her debut as Oracle! I really enjoyed the overall run & would normally highly recommend it, but also want to warn that it’s a pretty heavy read in terms of content itself (canon-typical violence ofc esp for a SuiSq comic, discussions of suicide ideation, period typical stereotyping/‘subversion’ of said stereotypes, but that’s a deeper discussion for a different blog) For that reason, I don’t necessarily recommend it for a first-time reader, esp if you’re wanting to solely focus on Babs. Team books usually aren’t super great when you’re reading for an individual character, in my experience, esp in a case like this where the character isn’t always necessarily part of the team or appears sporadically enough to disrupt the flow of following a storyline.

Birds of Prey (1999) - This team book breaks that prev rule tho, bc Babs is the leader & is in Damn near every issue of this run 😂 There’s several smaller team-ups before the main ‘99 run (BoP:Manhunt, BoP:Wolves, etc), which are also good as a prelude before the main run itself. This will be the longest thing that will give you a LOT to parse through & ymmv with a lot of it. (Dixon & Simone are the most prominent writers for it & without getting Into It they each have their Issues™️ & Crimes™️) It also crosses over with a few events/references others. Imo it’s a good window into what comics are like overall, esp when you get into a longer run with multiple writers at the helm. But it has an added bonus of keeping a pretty small cast at its forefront (for about half the run, it’s solely Babs n Dinah!) It also has a follow-up run in 2010 which is broken up by-

Oracle: The Cure - (technically a 3-issue mini-series but!!!) this one’s a culmination of Oracle & Calculator’s (it’s not rivalry? That can’t be the right word… Uhhh, nemesis-sitch?) from BoP & leads right into bringing Babs back to Gotham in Steph’s Batgirl run as well as the next BoP run I mentioned just a sec ago. It’s what I like to call connective (t)issues lol. Ymmv I think depending on if you’ve read BoP ‘99/TT ‘03 beforehand, but I hadn’t read a lot of TT before reading it at the time, and I enjoyed it a lot!

A couple individual issues I wanna suggest:

Batman Chronicles #5 - Oracle: Year One!!!!! Cannot rec this one enough!!! In lieu of reading Killing Joke (which really only serves Bruce, Joker, Jim Gordon’s characters) read this!!! LICHERALLY her origin in coming into her own as Oracle!!! This one is THE place to start, actually, before you read anything start here 😂

Batman: Gotham Knights #6 - okay, this one is admittedly a self-indulgent rec. Without spoiling the plot, it’s CLASSIC soap-opera level shit. The TENSION at play & the layers of Bruce & Babs dynamic, the messiness of the batfam!!! 👌 *chefs kiss* GK as a run in general too was a LOT of fun for me & Babs is a pretty prominent player in much of it, but this issue rlly takes the cake for me ngl

And to tie it all together for an extra couple of Important Event recs that you’ll run into esp if you pick up BoP first:

Batman: No Man’s Land - okay, this event was a Behemoth. It’s a LOT to read, but it is REALLY good imo as a launching point for where Bat-comics were at the start of the millennium. Babs takes the narrative role SO many times throughout & she rlly comes into her own by becoming a linchpin for the info system she builds for the batfam. Again, I don’t wanna discourage you when I say it’s a Long read, bc it’s well worth it imo, but also 100% okay to skip when you’re just starting out! It’s a big time sink!

Batman: Officer Down - okay put away the meme forJUST A SEC, our old friend Jim Gordon’s been shot & it’s up to Batma- oh wait bruce sulks by Jim’s bedside while Babs rallies the troops and GETS SHIT DONE to find who shot her dad? INTERESTING 🧐 In all seriousness tho, & compared to NML, this is a much easier bite-sized event that can give you a taste of what Event/crossoverComics™️ are generally like 👍

Bruce Wayne: Murderer?/Fugitive - okay so, take that same energy of the batfam having to Put In The Work to help Bruce out & flip it around bc now Bruce is the Main Suspect. The drama, the Intrigue™️. Pretty much everyone in the fam gets a moment to shine & this is def peak of how Babs fits into the fam during this era. This one runs a bit on the longer side & babs is again, more of a support role here, but god damn I loved it a lot!

I feel like I’m obligated to at least Mention Batman: War Games, mostly to note that it finally shakes the foundation of Oracle being the batfam’s main support (her CLOCKTOWER gets nerfed in this event 😭) If you read all of BoP and skip over this event & then are confused abt why Babs is suddenly being ejected from Gotham, just remember that her clocktower gets blown up, Steph dies, Bruce n Babs have a falling out & that’s basically why Babs starts flying around the country & settles in Metropolis for a bit instead of going back to Gotham. I reread this event at least once a year bc it gave me brainworms, I can not in good conscience recommend it to anyone bc no one understands her (War Games) like i do 💕 Godspeed if you decide to read it o7

Other recs/mentions:

Batgirl (2000) - okay if you end up reading NML, you’ll be introduced to Cass in it, & this run picks up with her. Babs is in it a LOT at the beginning as supporting cast to Cass (up to War Games ofc, but I won’t say much more abt that lol) I’m ngl, when I was trying to get more into comics, this run was what HOOKED me

Batgirl (2009) - so in a similar vein, Babs also features as a support for Steph too in her batgirl run. It’s… different from Cass’ run, but I also rlly love this one too. And also am forever bitter that the Batgirls run didn’t realize their potential BUT WE’RE NOT GETTING INTO THAT HERE.

Gonna mention Batman: Gotham Knights one more time bc again, while Babs isn’t a main focus, I think it’s rlly good at tying the batfam together during that era & giving a reader glimpses into other characters/dynamics. I think I got more out of it after I had read a few other runs from this time period (namely Robin, Azrael & some prominent stuff with Huntress), but can also see it as a potential launching point for new readers too 👍 if you wanna get more into the batfam/Batman but are intimidated by the Big Runs, this can potentially be a good bridge!

Gonna rapid fire mention that Babs as Oracle has a lot of appearances in Robin (93), Nightwing (96), JLA (96), Azrael (95) and obvsly Batman/Detective Comics from the 90s into 00s. I’ve read a few of these runs, and ymmv depending on how attached you may get to certain characters. But that’s what comics is all about! Getting attached and exploring other characters n teams n stuff!

A Gen note that I wanna end on: I wasn’t exaggerating when I said earlier abt how the more you read the more you’ll have fun. I can’t even begin to count the number of times that I’ve read something from a 90s/00s comic & was essentially jumpscared by a sudden Oracle cameo that I wasn’t expecting! She pops up in so many things throughout the universe at the time!!! She was THE info broker for all the supers!!! It makes me so insane that DC threw that all away to magi-cure her and demote her back to batgirl when she had grown so much 😭

Everyone is upset about the very public stunting and how it’s taking away from her Grammy nominations “for some point we can’t see” but I think maybe that is the point? Like her 1989 prologue was so clear about the media/general public sensationalizing all her relationships and assigning songs to individuals instead of focusing on her skill and craft, and honestly while the last stunt was intense they’re realistically not doing much in the public eye (only a handful of times seen together) and everyone is in a frenzy. It’s insane how social media basically became an echo chamber of “omg they’re perfect they’re endgame etc” and she literally only hugged and seemingly kissed him? She changed one word in one song when performing in front of him and people had intense reactions (positive and negative) and it’s still only a handful of things between them, and it shows how obsessed people are with her relationships even now as a 33 year old woman and not her craft.

I know we want it over and her to be out with the love of her life, but I have a hard time believing that’s going to happen before she’s finished releasing the re-records (is this not the reason the lover coming out was derailed?) she has a plan and has made it clear she doesn’t want them profiting off her work. I’d feel insanely violated if people I hated and had bullied me (idk exactly what he was using to bully her but the lack of description makes me feel like it’s related to being queer) owned/profited off my art that was made as a closeted queer person when I’m trying to come out. The situation is messed up and she’s doing everything she can to take her life back and she’s doing it on a speed run. She’s released 4/6 re-records in a very short time and posed to drop a fifth very soon.

Personally, I have in my brain if the chiefs make it to the Super Bowl (2/11/24) she’s dropping rep tv on 2/10/24. Bonus points if they lose, double points if she drops him too at that time but I wouldn’t be surprised if he stuck around while she releases debut tv to help market it to the country fans.

The end is near but not coming fast enough lol Karlie and Josh have not acknowledged what would have been a 5 year anniversary (contract length?), we’re seeing lots of photos indicating kk is in the same general locations as Taylor is, Taylor mentioning how she can see everyone in the audience basically confirming she could see Karlie in the crowd at LA Eras, articles of her close friends worried about her rapid relationship with Kelce potentially seeding a breakup, and she posts about not beating the witch allegations with the plane that I swear I saw on a Kaylor blog before she posted (literally did not see that exact wording anywhere else but I could’ve missed it)

ethel cain is officially one of my all time favorite artists of all time. i saw her live, front-row, and got to hold her hand and sing sun-bleached flies with her. ethel is a stage name and her real name is hayden, she is an absolutely beautiful trans female artist. her album, preacher's daughter, is a concept album that i think everyone should listen to, all the way through, in order. it is quite a disturbing story, so exercise caution. i like all her music, not just that album. she writes about the american south, cycles of abuse, having a strained relationship with god, and dating shitty men.

sorry mom is one of the greatest upcoming punk bands around. i am fully biased because i may or may not be friends with someone in the band...shh though because i don't want anyone to be like omg sorry mom is associated with this fucking tickle fic blog oh my god i'd be so embarrassed shut up. anyway, their debut album babyface is actually one of my favorite albums ever as well. their lyrics are fucking unmatched. the main theme of babyface is the pain and struggle of growing up, feeling younger than you are, feeling behind all of your peers...a feeling that i strongly relate to and i think a lot of people do. their first ep is also great but the girl who is no longer in the band cannot fucking sing so listen to those with caution lmfao. i rlly hope they re-record those songs bc i love them, it's just...her. specific songs you should check out are: molly sells molly by the seashore / getting sick / town clown / enema / teeth / stoop kid.

peach prc is a tiktoker turned popstar who is just so fucking talented and writes incredible lyrics. she's a lesbian and her newest song, secret, is about dating a closeted girl. she writes about being gay, her struggles with mental illness and addiction, as well as fun, upbeat, songs about sex and hating her exes. i think her genre is maybe considered hyper-pop?? idk i'm not good with subgenres lol but she is sooo talented and her tiktoks are fucking hilarious and she is so funny and cool and an amazing writer and singer. my favorite songs are heavy / forever drunk / josh / favorite person / like a girl does.

those are the ones i feel the need to scream about and indoctrinate people into liking. taylor swift, olivia rodrigo, chappell roan, sabrina carpenter, and megan thee stallion are all big favs lately. i'm also getting really into metal and subgenres of metal because of my partner. slipknot, ice nine kills, spiritbox, and dance gavin dance are the main ones i've latched onto.

I got caught up on the Shadows House manga! (spoilers!!! don't read this if you haven't read it :p)

(well, almost. The latest chapter hasn't yet been posted on the app I have that gives me manga in English, so I haven't read 158.)

I have SO many thoughts!! First of all, it did throw me off how the anime stuck so closely to the manga except for, like, adding an ENTIRELY NEW PLOT ARC which completely disrupted the timelines of when certain things were revealed to the characters. Like, if I remember correctly, the main characters in the manga still haven't ever infiltrated Grandfather's house, Kate only used a Veiled Doll disguise when they were in the Star Bearers' tower to avoid Suzanna, and they have no information about Edward's soot powers. So that's weird. And the Edward of the manga seems much more subtle than to do something as brash as kidnap Emilico.

I guess they wanted a very dramatic ending for the first season? But it seems probably unnecessary to me. Like, I didn't hate that part of the show, but I don't think I would've liked the show less without it. Plus, it removes a lot of the mystery and raises plot hole-type of questions about who knows what and who's, like, in the house. (and also how John got back? I think he said he held onto Edward's bird, but then where was he when Edward got there???) I think it probably would've been dramatic enough to end with the fallout of the debut, and the brainwashing/human reveal.

I am now going to share a bunch of my thoughts on various parts of the story, in no particular order. Sorry about the super long post, I know probably more people would read this if it was broken up, but I didn't want to flood the tag or my own blog.

Maryrose and Rosemary omg!!! 😭🥺😭🥺😭 I love them so much! I think their story was pretty much exactly the same as the show. I did notice, I think just because it was my second time around, that Rosemary doesn't talk, like, at all in the big showdown, or afterward when she's detained, except for when she reveals herself and then hugs Shaun and Emilico. Maryrose does all the talking, and it's kind of set up as just a fight between her and Kate and John, and then, later, Edward. Which I guess makes sense, given the circumstances of their relationship, and especially how they're used to interacting with others, or maybe that's just their personalities. But it would have been sweet to see them behave more like equal partners. I guess I may be projecting Kate and Emilico onto them a bit 😅 They are still great though, of course.

ANYWAY, I have a THEORY!! Or maybe more of a wish? I think it would be really cute if Rosemary and Maryrose ran away to join the circus! 🎪 They already have a lot of parallels to Kate and Emilico, so it kinda makes sense!! Especially considering that Maryrose can't disguise her shadow form, so it will be hard for them to integrate into normal society. (like Kate...) We already know they love to perform, they can do supernatural tricks with soot powers, and "the beauty and her shadow" would be an easy gimmick, as well as an interesting inversion of their relationship at Shadows House. Hopefully they can find one with a nicer ringmaster than Emilico's, but they're also much more prepared to throw down with a grown man than she was.

It was SO satisfying to me when the Patrick and Louise pairs finally got filled in on everything!!! Frankly I did not understand why nobody told poor Patrick about the soot powers right after the debut; it's not like Kate cares about respecting authority. And then even Rum came back 💜 I love when they all get to be a happy little family together 🥰🥰

In general I appreciate how many things seem to go well in this story, especially because it's usually because the characters have decided to work together and trust each other. Even though the fate of their uprising is far from sealed, it's still already had a lot of success, like them befriending the Star Bearers and eliminating the coffee. I feel like in a lot of other stories everything would have to fall apart so much more for the main characters before they got anywhere close to their goals. Which, like, of course there's nothing wrong with that, I just prefer a bit less hopelessness in my stories. Like, the Star Bearer election was such a huge victory!! And they just got to have that! (obviously there will be fallout, but they still got it, y'know?)

The criticism of capitalism really is, like, glaring. I feel like it's most obvious for me in the chapter where Emilico considers that she may have been less miserable if she kept drinking the coffee, but then Kate tries to help clean, and shares her table with her, and cheers her up. It's a tiny piece of the overall story, but it's such a sweet little reminder of, "this system exists to control us by breaking us down, and it will absolutely succeed if we are not there for each other. Relationships, empathizing with one another's struggles, and providing hope and help where it is needed are essential for progress." As someone who has dealt with burnout, that was really...yeah...🥺

I am so curious about where the story is going with Lou and Louise!!! Even before the recent invitation, I kept thinking, "we really don't know that much about them..." Louise's obsession with Lou's beauty is clearly unhealthy, and I assume it's inhibiting her own sense of identity. She's not the most thoughtful, and of the main team, seems to understand the least why what Shadows House is doing is wrong. I'm not even convinced she ever stopped brainwashing Lou, though I don't think she'd realize that's what she was doing. Especially because, in the manga, her powers weren't a huge discovery for her, she was just like, "oh yeah, that's something that I do". And when all the human kids are remembering their home and the selection together, Lou struggles to have an emotional reaction the way everyone else does. That reminded me of when Kate first broke Emilico's brainwashing after the debut, and she was confused at not being able to associate sadness with the memory of Rum and Shirley's loss. However, I do think Louise is firm enough in her connection to the group and their ideals that she won't be comfortable going along with unification. Even if she doesn't feel Edward is giving her a choice, she won't be like, "oh okay this is fine".

I have NO idea where they're going with Sarah and Mia. Someone in the tag pointed out that it looks like Sarah is crossing to the other wing along with Louise, and idk what to do with that!! Honestly, I have been a little confused by their characterization in general, because the first things we learn about them are the Sarah is mean and cruel, while Mia is helpful and kind, only for that to... not quite seem to be the case. Everyone seems to think Sarah is well-meaning but immature, and Mia begins to be the driving force behind Emilico's antagonization. I mean, it does seem like nobody would be aware of Sarah's abuse, and I can see that Mia's attitude toward Emilico would change once she is perceived to be a threat. But the abuse in particular seemed to sort of be swept under the rug? Like, they introduced it and then never mentioned it again, until Mia herself initiated it, which may not be odd if Sarah hadn't become a much more central character. (idk, I'm probably overthinking it!) Anyway, some people were saying they don't think Mia's going to make it, but idk...if either of them dies, it would be the closest-to-the-main-characters character to have a confirmed death yet. And if Mia, specifically, were to die, we'd have a faceless shadow, which we've never had to deal with before, because the Belles were able to share their...Belle. (speaking of whom, is Emi the only one who cares that she LOST HER TWIN SISTER??) Would Sarah be doomed to the death Rum described, or would our group have to rescue and hide her, somehow?

Speaking of all the Belles, again, I really feel like Barbara ought to apologize to them, specifically. She tried pretty hard to kill all of them, and succeeded with one out of four. Because if Belle hadn't made it, they'd have gotten rid of Isabelle and Mirabelle, right? I know Barbara has enough angst happening right now already, but, like, are we gonna talk about that??

Oh yeah, ANTHONY. What a little freak. His backstory puts him in one of the most sympathetic positions in the whole story, but after only a few short appearances, every reader is creeped out by him!! Truly an accomplishment. I mean, we can assume he was emotionally broken by the loss of Christopher, but still. Be cool, dude. One very interesting mystery surrounding him is that of Christopher's soot powers!!! I assume he has some of his soot in the vial, (a bit macabre, to think of him gathering it from a corpse) and is using it to do mind control of some sort?

(I do feel very bad for Barbara btw. Especially after she made such progress by opening up to everyone! I don't mean to gloss over that, I just don't have much to say about it.)

Okay, okay. KATE. 🎀🌹 Dearest, darlingest, mysterious girl. I was so happy when we finally learned the truth about her doll!!! Emilico meeting her (and everyone else tbh) in the village before they went to the House seemed kind of jarringly coincidental, but once I was able to suspend my disbelief in serendipity, it was really sweet!!! 😊🥰 And her having a different history then the other shadows makes her so much more interesting! (Though it does make Maryrose seem like more of an anomaly...) It's kind of funny that so many characters have a second, secreter backstory behind their secret backstory. Has anyone else considered that Kate may already actually be the equivalent to an "adult" shadow, the perfect union of a morph and a human?? I was going to say that she's the death-free version of what Gramps is trying to do, but then I remembered her mother died, so that's a lie. Possessing and killing pregnant women is actually not more ethical than whatever is currently going on.

Romance! As a lesbian who finds most "teen romance" stories grating, I kind of like what Shadows House has done so far, with the characters having various crushes and largely not acting on them, and that taking a backseat to both the main plotlines and their friendships. The crushes are more a vehicle for the characters learning about themselves than for drama. Probably eventually people will start getting together and that will change and I'll get annoyed, but 🤷🏻‍♀️. The only ones who are like "uwu we're made for each other 😚💕" are the ones who literally WERE. I like the head canon that Kate is a lesbian, and I don't really ship anything except the Roses, of course, and kinda Kate and Emilico. But that's, like...the whole story is about their love for each other, regardless of the form it takes? Not to be like, "they don't need to be gay because their friendship is just as strong", but it is. (I do think they're gay, though) I think I picture them ending up together, but, maybe, like, in a few years?? They are still learning that they are even people. (no hate if you do ship more, though. That's just me.) And I like imagining the main squad as found family besties. Like, "I used to be in love with you when we barely knew each other, then we got close, did a revolution together, and now both we and the shape of that love have changed so much, but we're all still here," type of friends.

Speaking of years, I wonder if the story's timeline will be clarified? rn it's, like, super ambiguous, and I think that might be intentional, but I wonder if we'll get answers.

Oh, okay! I think this'll be the last topic, and it's a totally superficial one. Kate's new digs!!!! ♥️ The scene where everyone came to say hi was so cute, I loved that. Do you think she'll have it redecorated to fit her color scheme more? Also, does this mean Emilico gets a nicer room, too??? And will this make it harder or easier to meet up with the others? Farther away, well, except for Patrick, now, but possibly more space and more freedom? And does Rum always patrol the tower? Cause then they'd get to see her all the time! In general I'm excited for what new things Kate will have access to as a star bearer, but that also means that if the adults find out about the coffee, she'll be blamed for sure.

Granted, good thing she didn't get swayed, but I like that you seem to have stuck with that with him from what you've previously said on the blog regarding how he'd see her. Let's see how he'll react to her being mentally strong as well. (Honestly I am on the edge (lol) of my seat to know what happens next.)

God and this is such a good debut to Edge's pride. It's so uncanny to see how "different" he looks when he's smiling and all dad-like like that even when talking like some professional business, since his pride might as well be in a way, like a white-furred Simba compared to his first appearance (and obviously the fact that he's evil and not above killing others *Still sobbing over Quiet amd Clever and now whatever emotions Adamant is going through rn aaaaa* and might as well be the equivalent to a Lion mafia boss, but still, it's weird in a good way and you nailed it). I almost wanna punch that face lol. But y'all have certainly made him charming in this chapter, Imma make it a double punch with both fists in that case. YES I'm so happy people liked Hope mirroring Clever haha it was a great idea presented by RJ.

Edge, while he did horrible things, does present a good case to Hope. Despite her experiences with her father and mother, she wants a pride, like many lions do, and he was able to lean into that.

And yea drawing him smiling and fatherlike was difficult, especially because I wanted to make him more vain with his expressions /but that wouldn't work/ because he's being completely honest here LOL He's not trying to trick Hope. He means what he's saying, and a villain that keeps their promises is pretty scary in my opinion. I wish I could've had Vanish and co do more, but they'll be doing more next time.

Once again I'm thrilled Bright made an impression on people. I like writing evil? lesbians too LOL Its so much fun. She is quite immature, but that'll present itself more later. I can't wait to show more of her.

And yea Fade is stuck in a hard place because his dad is actually good to him, but he's definitely hearing and seeing some things he didn't sign up for. He'll need to discuss a change in his contract.

so, so I've been trying to gather the courage to tell you the truth 😶 I hardly know anything about Twice and Red Velvet. I do recognize the members' names only because of Tumblr...I'm pretty sure I can name all the members of Red Velvet. I kinda only follow certain kpop blogs for the photography, and Red Velvet's aesthetic is always on point. I think I've listened to at least 1 song by both groups. By appearance alone, my favorite is Seulgi (something about the way she looks at the camera), but I also think Yeri is really pretty. I cannot name a single song by either group. I sometimes listen to Blackpink (I'm a casual Rose and Jisoo fan).

Anyway, that's what I wanted to confess to you 😳 Feel free to recommend a Twice and/or Red Velvet song that you think I must listen to.

Well, I'm not also deep into Red Velvet's nor Twice's discography but I knew almost all of their Popular Songs (which is redundant but hey, they're still fun to sing and dance to).

Now that you mentioned Seulgi's Appearance, I recommend you to listen to her solo album (although I haven't yet, I'm pretty sure it's good!) but first, check out the lead or title track of that album, "28 reasons" , check its mv, I think somehow, you'll love it (even the teaser..)

But if you really want to hear first the whole group's discography, check out Red Velvet's Russian Roulette (the mv too), Psycho (with it's pretty and aesthetic music video elements that I think will suit you taste, perhaps), or Bad Boy (I think it's also beautiful in its own way). Or if you want you can also watch Red Velvet's Peek-a-boo with it's kind of dark concept in its music video.

Oh my, Can't believe I also forgot, Feel My Rhythm (with it's aesthetically pleasing vocals and music video!!)

I'm not sure if I can help you a lot in introducing you to Red Velvet , but I do hope you can check some of their songs out and discover some that you'll love!

As much as I know, Red Velvet always incorporates the Red (psycho and dark elements) and Velvet (cutesy, beautiful, aesthetic thingy) their concept over all.

Now for TWICE, the thing is, their songs are so addicting that they're even prohibited to be played in schools in South Korea (I know, crazy right?)

So let's start with some familiar songs first, try checking out TWICE's What is Love?, TT, Fancy (I'm addicted to this song), Feel Special, More & More, Dance The Night Away, Knock Knock, Yes or Yes and more!

They have a more cutesy concept back in their debut days, but they also do some dark concepts into their songs. They are quite versatile too, just check out the audio of Cry For Me by Twice, but you don't have to force yourself, step by step, you can try watching little by little of their songs, to find what's to your liking..

Even now, they're still soaring high as one of the 3rd Generation Girl Kpop Idol (mind you, we're already in the start of 5th gen kpop, I feel old), their new title tracks songs would be "Talk & Talk", "Moonlight Sunrise".. that's all I know, sorry 😢✨

I hope ONCES (Twice Fandom Name) don't come at me.. I can't say a lot of things, (my ONCE friend would kill me fr lol)

as things get even worse in ukraine please remember that online posts from individuals are not the same as vetted reports. yes there are individuals posting who are going to be able to be more accurate about what’s happening because it is actually happening to them and on-the-ground reports on social media have been huge in recent years in keeping the world informed during times of turbulence but!! please remember:

people can and WILL lie to get attention esp during a crisis - someone saying “i’m from ukraine” when you have no other evidence is not a reliable source, double if their profile (blog, etc) looks relatively new or only has a few unrelated posts

people only know what they know! people can report what’s happening to them in the context that they understand it - that doesn’t give a full picture of what’s happening to an entire country or even a single city

deliberate misinformation specifically by russia is a thing

GET. MULTIPLE. SOURCES. check at least 2-3 news sources ON TOP of social media posts - whatever threads seem to be aligning across all sources are probably the closest to the truth

being informed means being responsibly informed and it’s okay if you don’t have the bandwidth (time, emotional energy, etc) to check your info in the middle of the day. better to be silent than to spread misinformation so please please check before you post

not to be on my debut shit but if you weren’t there (watching cmt in 2007) you don’t remember how debut should not have worked that’s not what country music WAS then. it was just post-9/11 so new artists were all patriotism and country boys in trucks drinking and idolizing their fathers and war and occasionally being sad about a lost love and girls in short shorts looking wife-eyed and loving Jesus and occasionally being sad about a dead love. like taylor in her sparkly dresses with her big hair singing about high school and unrequited puppy love wasn’t designed to work but it DID because young women went absolutely feral over this gangly blond in prom dresses who sang about things they understood, things they felt and taylor was such a risk but she proved her mettle and then everyone proceeded to make her keep doing it for another sixteen years even though as a literal teenager she made a genre fit her not the other way around and i have to chew glass every time i think about it

hey i just wanted to say i love your blog! and thanks for finally helping me get into taylor swift music with the zutara lure lol - anyway i wanted to ask, i could've sworn there was a zk comic of a TSR incorrect quote where zuko's freaking out about how he could've died so many times after katara makes friends with him and he's seen her bloodbending and stopping the rain - can you help me find it pls? i've scoured all the zk blogs i follow but to no avail oof -

It makes me so happy to hear you say that you're so sweet omg. I am glad I'm someone you enjoy following! I also can't believe that I was the final push into Swiftie-ism. I don't think you ever truly leave lol. If you're curious, I do have a couple favorites from each album!

Debut: I am not a big Debut fan for no particular reason but I do quite enjoy an angry listen to "Should've Said No" and "Picture to Burn"

Fearless: I was obsessed with "You Belong With Me" when I was younger and my favorite now is probably "Mr. Perfectly Fine" bc its just so good. If you haven't heard that one yet you need to. I also quite like "Breathe." The emotions that one gives me are so strong.

Speak Now: Speak Now is one of my favorite albums from her-- as it should be. She literally wrote it herself. It is very difficult to just pick a few, but i will say that "Back to December" is not overrated at all, "The Story of Us" is criminally underrated, and "Ours" is very sweet and cute.

Red: Red is a very good album. I also struggle to just pick a few here. My absolute favorite from it is "I Almost Do" but I do think "Red" is overshadowed by "All Too Well" which is good, but I just like "Red" more. "Begin Again" has gotten me through some rough patches and I also love "Holy Ground." The bonus tracks are all very good too. ("Ronan" is a very beautiful but extremely tragic song and I don't know if you're aware of the story behind it so I just want to warn you that it is a heavy listen).

1989: I love this album too lol. "Clean" is good for the soul, "All You Had To Do Was Stay" and "How You Get The Girl" are both so good and somehow I mix them in a lot lol. "I Wish You Would" is also one I love.

reputation: This one was not one I liked initially but it grew on me a lot. "New Year's Day" and "Dancing With Our Hands Tied" are beautiful masterpieces. "I Did Something Bad" has badass Katara written all over it though. Cannot recommend that enough for her.

Lover: Solid album, not my favorite tho. I love "The Man" and that also has badass Katara energy. She would listen to that every day. "Death By A Thousand Cuts" and "Cornelia Street" are also both ones I like a lot. I love the live from Paris (I think) version of "Cornelia Street" especially.

folklore: I don't know why, but I've been in a folklore mood recently. I enjoy "the last great american dynasty" and "betty" and "the lakes" but "peace" is my very favorite from folklore, somewhat bc its like the Zutara song.

evermore: This album is so good too! I love "coney island" a lot but I'm not sure why. "champagne problems" is a good one and "tolerate it" is tragic and beautiful. I also adore "no body, no crime" and will not apologize for it.

Anyways! Those are just my favorites if you wanted to know or some recommendations. I also hunted down that post for you! I knew exactly what you were talking about and could have sworn I reblogged it, but alas. I looked on Tumblr for a while and wondered if I could find it faster on Google... somehow that worked. Sorry for rambling so much lol <3
