After MSA video 5 is eventually done, I'm so excited to finally start building more animation character rigs for a dream project I've wanted to make since 2013 with my MLP oc Harmony. I didn't have the skill or connections back then, but now I feel really confident in doing something else extremely ambitious in bringing her and her story to life finally. :)

I recently redrawn my msa oc Kate and....I FUCKING LOVE IT, I think I finally hit the nail on her finally and figured I'd post her on here.

I'm especially proud of her Bìxié form, I've always had trouble with it cuz MSA doesn't have any feline based characters or ever featured any in secondary content like comics or concept drawings. But either way I'm proud of what I've accomplished and happy that I've finally did it.

😊 SMILING FACE WITH SMILING EYES — what are your oc’s career/general life desires? what do they want to get the most out of life?

David hopes to work at a local theater after he graduates, or teach drama/literature to high schoolers. He's not particularly ambitious, and only wants a future where he feels fulfilled and secure. He'd also want to study his inherited powers more thoroughly and explore their potential, but that's a goal he has to tread carefully toward. Because of his fourth wall seer status, he has front row seats to watch the many, many ways his story could take a turn for the worst. He's aware of how often his alternate universe selves fall into corruption arcs and become nihilistic, power-hungry monsters, so now he assumes he's doomed to follow suit. His fate terrifies him, but he'll still fight tooth and nail to change it once it rears its head.

💜 PURPLE HEART — what is your oc’s ancestry/genetic background?

His father is English and his mother is Egyptian. The distance he feels from his mom's culture bothers him (he spent most of his teen years away from her), but he's always trying to learn more about it as a way to reconnect to his roots. He's even making an effort to start learning Arabic, aiming to familiarize himself with the Masri dialect first before moving on to MSA. I also have half a mind to throw Filipino into the mix just because I can, and because one of his relatives is already pinoy. :P Fun fact: he picked up his dad's Mancunian accent, but it only really comes out when he's stressed, angry, or drunk. Speaking of which...

🍸 COCKTAIL GLASS — what is your oc’s favorite alcoholic drink, if they can drink?

He's averse to drinking because he's something of a lightweight and he wants to stay alert to avoid incidents, especially around his friends who have no qualms about getting sloshed. Though if he has to pick, he'd go for an Irish coffee.

who cares if people in fandom don't like women characters? it's not that deep...

Unfortunately my good friend (derogatory) IT IS that deep. There's a difference between disliking a few female/femme-aligned characters or even hating a few, and hating most, if not every single female character you interact with. Even still, I gotta ask why you dislike the few you do, and chances are, your answers may still be misogynistic, racist, fatphobic, or transphobic! Or a mix of all that, or including other not great things that indicate the kind of person you really are and how inconsiderate you are.

As someone who is mixed black, AFAB, fat, and queer, I've not only been dealt with misogyny/misogynoir IRL, but online, and especially over /OCs/. I have trauma related to how the MSA fandom treated my black femme OC when I was a literal teenager. I still remember the awful shit people would do to Vivi, and she was a MAIN character in the Mystery Skulls Animated series. AND Japanese!

I've seen how you people treated Kat from Wendell & Wild. She's similar, imo, to Coraline, but y'all fucking love Coraline and gave Kat shit despite her having every right to behave how she did given what fucking happened to her. Did you even watch the movie?

I've seen how y'all treated Mabel from Gravity Falls. I've seen the treatment towards Alphys. Do you want me to bring up Martha Jones, the first full-time black FEMALE companion and how not only how she's treated in text but how you guys treated her too and still treat her/regard her to this day???

Hundreds of thousands of female characters and y'all losers think it's cute, cool even, to admit that you don't care, dislike them, hate them. Some of y'all have worse reasonings than others, especially if it comes down to their race. Especially if it comes down to their identities as a queer woman or transgender woman.

Y'all think it's fucking cute to be misogynists regardless of whether or not you are female/femme-aligned/AFAB. Miss Umbra is fearful and scared that her past enemies of the past, Ancestor of Arthur and King Yang Rivas wear stars in the past.

King Yang wears his star earrings. He has his sword.

Their ancestors where the only people that make umbra feel absolute terror of the ultimate death, so she is terrified of thinking that her past is haunting her now and that they're gonna end what she started years ago when she was a mortal.

Okay I’m curious what is the target incident-

Oh boy you’re in for a wild ride strap in this is going to take a while

Strap in and buckle your seatbelts

So basically there’s this asshole we created named Sam gars (accidentally made an oc with canon brother lmaooooo)

Also this is part of the msa x sm crossover and vivi and Arthur were also a part of this

So it’s a normal day and the gang is shopping at target (specifically the chocolate aisle bc ya girl vivi needs it)

Be a shame if something were to happen

So ANYWAYS Sam Gars and his little brother Caleb (good kid. Friends with the hatz. Also knows Kevin and Streber bc of Ross bc I love the hc that Ross and Kevin are brothers)

So anyways Sam and Caleb walk by the chocolate aisle and Sam, THIS MF, decides to make a snide comment to Caleb abt Arthur and Streber being amputees. (Caleb hates it when Sam pulls shit like this, esp on his friends)

Vivi overhears

This is when shit hits the fan.

Vivi leaves the group to go find Sam bc she’s pissed that he made fun of her friends. Kev, Streb, and Artie don’t realize she left.

Meanwhile vivi walks up to Sam, taps him on the shoulder, and immediately punches him in the face (giving him a black eye)

The gang realizes vivi is gone when they hear a “WHAT THE FUCK DUDE” from a couple aisles over.

They all run over to see The Target Brawl

Arthur and Streber go to pry vivi (who is like a foot shorter than Sam, and winning) off of him, Kevin is kinda dumbfounded, and Caleb is panicking. Vivi is shouting at Sam and a couple kids in the store probably learn a LOT of new words that day.

Caleb calls the cops (which are John and Jack. Keep in mind that jack and Streber are brothers) bc what else is he supposed to do

This is when things get even wilder

They arrive, come to check out what’s going on, and Jack is like “streber? What are you doing here?” Meanwhile John is questioning a very angry vivi and Sam

Sam (this mf) tries to frame it as ‘I was just talking to my brother and she came up out of nowhere and punched me!’ Vivi (very rightfully so) corrects him.

Jack hears that he was being mean to his brother and absolutely flips his shit on him.

Sam is like ‘oh shit they’re brothers’

Caleb is panicking still

Kevin is glaring at Sam

Streber is still processing how quickly that escalated

Arthur isn’t surprised tbh that vivi did that but is like very overwhelmed

Vivi is still yelling profanities

So anyways John is like ‘you guard coming to the station.’ Sam tries to walk away, and John drags him by the collar of his jacket like ‘no you started this’

Vivi kicks him in the nuts on the way out (girlboss)

They all go to the station in the police car (streber gets front seat privileges)

Where Sam basically proceeds to get trauma dumped on and yelled at by jack

John tries to question Arthur abt Lewis but jack is like ‘lay off the kid’ and offers him one of the emotional support donuts John bought for him (bc the my fault spiral has started for jack Heehoo angst)

And yeah they also give Caleb a donut and let him go bc he’s stressed

Also jack may or may not cry a little after the whole ordeal

And that’s the story abt how they got banned from that target

Sam can no longer go into the candy club or go-nuts

He went to go-nuts once after and bc streber works there when streber was ringing him out he charged him double

The gang bought pizza with it lmao

Also Caleb and Ross are both like you’ll never believe what happened’ abt the same event (bc Caleb was there and Kevin ranted abt it to Ross)

here we have my beloved viera’vun ‘viera’ lavellan, my inquisitor and a solasmancer (i am so sorry to her), as well as the oc i write most by far. she was a dalish hunter trained primarily in daggers, later specializing as a tempest. she is a pathfinder at heart whose greatest strengths are her perceptiveness and resilience, while her greatest weaknesses lie in her impulsivity, lack of assurance in her identity, and her tendency to run from her problems. i have a bunch of fucked up aus centered around her and all the situations i put her into! she likes to run, climb, and sing (she is Bad at it). varric calls her ‘finch’.

iloniyn, my most preciousest boy. him and viera are hunting partners as well as (platonic) soulmates, a phenomenon known to the dalish as tael’inan. they are each one half of a whole. iloniyn is incredibly sarcastic, confident, and prickly, but tends to care deeply about those that he considers his people, and gives of himself freely to them (even if he complains while doing it). he is bonded to @sweetmage‘s oc athimien, likes to whittle, is a great shot, and can play the lute. varric calls him ‘snipe’.

ishme aeducan, a sharp, hard woman who will not be made a fool again. raised to navigate the subtle and dangerous world of dwarven politics, she is incredibly cunning, and often pulling the strings in any given situation. she is softened by alistair, who teaches her how to be a person as she teaches him how to be a king. wields dual blades as a warrior.

taufei! oooh i love taufei. a leader alongside ishme by the end of origins, she is idealistic, friendly, and generally just a chill person to hang with. though content enough to do her own thing, once she sets her sights on something, she does not relent, often leading her into...hairy situations. those situations include wooing a witch of the wilds and having a sweet lil totally-not-in-any-way-shape-or-form-creepy baby with her! yippee! she was the second of her clan, though her magic was never incredibly powerful and, as such, she made her living on making and infusing potions for her clan. she is a skilled herbalist, knows enough archery to protect herself, and actually has really long luscious curls that Do Not Exist in game you are just going to have to trust me okay.

kita tabris. she is...intense. if you are her friend she is kinda just a dudebro. picked up the big sword her mother used to wield and decided to learn how to use it because, hell yeah, big sword (which, as it so happens, is exactly what her mom did). if you are not her friend, she is. intense. finds battle thrilling, and isn’t afraid to spill blood. while she can come across as flippant or immature, much of her disregard stems from an avoidance of her more serious (and painful) thoughts and emotions. she is zevran’s gorgeous and incredibly powerful girlfriend whomst he adores and cherishes, and the fact that she can, will, and has crushed a man’s skull with her bare hands only strengthens his devotion.

araia surana, a very sweet young mage who is wholly overwhelmed by this big, new world around her. previously a teacher’s pet who didn’t much mind kinloch hold with little in the way of friends, jowan’s ‘betrayal’ left her reeling with nowhere to turn. while she is curious of the world beyond, she is also incredibly anxious. she picks up a habit of lying to avoid confrontation, and while she is very good at it, her dishonesty puts strain on her and leliana’s relationship early on. her passion is in ancient and forgotten magical techniques and practices. she loves listening to leliana’s stories of adventure and romance, and often plays ‘doll’ when her girlfriend decides she needs something to dress up. after the archdemon is defeated, she spearheads efforts to find the cure for the joining.
