Introduction of both this au’s villains, and more Dart lore! This is for the au we’re Raz is 20 btw.

Firstly, Agatha was working on her reanimated dead in secret, her company makes toxin based weapons basically but they're still not Really doing anything illegal that people know about. The reason people started finding out is that she was dumping "unsuccessful" ones out of the drainage pipes in her factory and they began walking around and terrorizing people. Lili, Raz, Dogen, n Kitty were sent to the city her company's in (dubiously New York City) to sleuth out what was going on! They don't immediately figure out it's her, Dex gets wrapped up into it because of the zombies using C.R.I.M.E. tech. Agatha tried to be super friendly n sponsoring the psychonauts agents at first in order to lead them in the wrong direction ! Kinda a mix between Syndrome and Mirage from the Incredibles plot wise.

She eventually reanimates Dante, but noott very well. All of Agatha's zombies r basically puppeted around by mechanical parts and some psychic tech. Dante is only conscious after she reanimates him too bc he had his brain stored when he died! Agatha's reanimated dead are also reanimated a while after death, whereas Dart was reanimated almost immediately so Dante is practically falling apart compared to her. Dante is definitely not the main villain, and Really does care about Dart, especially since he went through so much effort to keep her alive after he died, but Agatha reanimates him so they can rediscover that same method that worked with dart. Which might become a conflict of interest between Agatha n Dante in the future.

When Dante was alive, he did actually Try to parent Dart, but so much of his time was iust devoted to his experiments and work and cult stuff and holing himself up in his office that they were distant regardless. I mean Dart was kind of just an experiment that he didn't even think would work and he got attached too- there were a good 3 or so years that Dante was sick and dying (probably harmful material exposure let's be honest) and they just Didn't talk about it. They both knew but they didn't discuss stuff like that. I mean they had heart to hearts sometimes but the last time Dart really saw him before he died was kinda 'you're dying and we both know it'. Even when Dante was alive, Dart was really trying to run away from anything ‘supernatural’ or ‘weird’ or dangerous and just live a normal life. That’s kind of why she started going to whispering rock, but after the brain snatching incident she just hid in the outhouse the whole time and then stopped going after.

I finally got around to reading Uncanny Avengers by Remender (I know, old news) and boy do I have thoughts. Right now the one scene that boggles my mind is having Wanda (who committed mutant genocide) preach to Rogue about the condition of mutants - it’s kinda fucked up.

Wanda lore just dropped !

Her incredibly unfinished Toyhouse

Wanda Whelk is a psychic super villain tasked with the mission of seizing control of Otto Mentallis’s Personal Astralathe Exhibition with the help of an invention called the Brain Scrambler! Raz must venture into her mind and find some way to stop this Hightide Schadenfreude!

This level would function mostly like a psychonauts 1 level, in that doing the level progresses the story, but Wanda’s mind doesn’t Actually have anything to do with the plot. Except maybe a little as this is where Raz would really unlock his hydrokinesis in a kind of fight or flight, as the whole level is water water water. Also building off of my headcanon that even though Lucy is fine with psychics now, she doesn’t really want to use them especially not enough to personally teach Raz do to their associations + Raz isn’t trying to accidentally psychically DROWN himself anymore but he’s still a little afraid of water.

The level itself would be broken up into, The Boardwalk; where you would do some puzzles, platforming, as well as fight some censors and boardwalk residents as some of them can become hostile. The Stadium; which you make your way over to in the boardwalk, here you fight Wanda. Then the TBA third section; where you get drained into after the stadium fight. This section would somewhat deal with her backstory, as well as be the point where all three C.R.I.M.E. agents agree to the stalemate with the Psychonauts.

everything goes so slow for pietro i am 100% convinced he's incredibly terminally online to get his dopamine hits. he's so active on twitter people are worried about him. he keeps getting suspended bcuz he keeps sending people death threats and doxxing them and then has to call tony up so he can pay to get his accound back. he shows up in front of houses of people he beefs with. he fights with teenagers online all day. the official avengers twitter account has him blocked.

It's almost funny how there's this whole discourse on how Peggy is a Nazi... based on how a small part her MCU version's characterization is inspired by a comics character that worked for HYDRA. However, they don't keep the same energy for characters that volunteered to be experimented on by HYDRA. Volunteered, not forced, willingly joined a Nazi terrorist organization.

Also, if you hate Peggy because of who plays her: hate most of the characters, they're played by people and people tend to be shitty, specially white rich people.

[SANDMAN SPOILERS - Comics and therefore probably future seasons of the show]

*tw for mentioned transphobia (though this whole post is about how I think the comics did trans representation well)

I just finished reading A Game of You (the fifth Sandman comic- the first season of the Netflix show covers almost the first three, for perspective) and WOW did it handle trans issues well. For 1993 especially, but also just in general.

 So there’s a trans character (not the first queer character in the comics by a long shot, Sandman’s always been a queer series despite what transphobes reviewing the Netflix show might tell you). But this character is an actively transitioning trans woman and she struggles with this A LOT. She’s even told at one point (by the reanimated face of a dead man, though we don’t need to get into that) that the gods don’t care about how she feels, gender isn’t something you can change. according to the laws of the universe, she will always be a man. She fights back and insists that she knows who she is, and she never wavers on this fact.

A lot happens in between, but basically, at the end of A Game of You [SPOILER WARNING AGAIN] she dies. Her funeral is horrible. Her entire family insists on calling her by her dead name, though the friend she died in order to save never appeases them by being “respectful” and referring to her as a man. She crosses out the dead name on the grave and writes “Wanda” (the woman’s chosen name). It’s an all right ending, but it still leaves you sad that she died and horrified at how her body was treated after death (her hair was cut, she was dressed in a suit for her funeral)

BUT THEN she’s seen with Death of the Endless, the character who is notoriously kind and loving despite being feared by everyone. Wanda appears beside Death as a woman, beautiful, with long hair and a lovely dress. Showing that, of course, the universe DOES care who you are. It DOES let you decide who to be. She was a woman, and though her body was changed against her wishes after her death, she remains a woman when seen with the personification of Death. Because that’s who she always truly was.

(And yes, you could argue it’s cruel that she dies at all, but the Sandman series is FULL of fates worse than this. Comparatively speaking, it’s a really heartwarming ending)
