The light of the candle on the table flickers as Jaskier passes by, and returns, and passes by again.
A true performer, Geralt thinks. Even when he doesn't perform, even when no one is there to see except him. Always moving, always loud, currently talking about something Geralt is not quite sure he's grasping, mostly becasue he's too busy gazing at him rather than actually listening.
And Jaskier is walking back and forth, hands flying all over, an amused smile on his face like he discovered the secrets of the universe. Speaking of some old runes, bones, discoveries, the poetry of unchanging humanity and then again, random information, the latest Oxenfurt gossip that Geralt couldn't care less about.
Still, he is listening. And all the same, he's wondering. Wondering about how he's only seen Jaskier so enthusiastic when it's him he's talking to, how the glint in his eyes is the warmest that it has ever been and how, when they share a single glance, there's this sea of safety and trust flooding from Jaskier's look, one that tickles pleasantly, like standing deliberately in front of a scrotching fire, just to feel your skin burn. Home.
He doesn't know, truly. Doesn't know what he can have possibly done to aspire that.
The only thing he knows is that, suddenly, Jaskier stops in his tracks, stares at him and, like a melting candle, his expression softens.
Geralt frowns. But has not the time to ask.
"I love when you look at me like that," Jaskier says and his voice is low, like a secret never to be confessed again. There's a wide smile curving his lips yet it feels timid, lacking the boldness usually coming with it.
It's funny, Geralt thinks. Peculiar, and funny. And he will never guess the reason. He tilts his head. "Like what?"
"Like..." Jaskier wets his lips and takes a deep breath, eyes flying around the room as if they will find the proper words hanging from the walls. He huffs, a bittersweet thing. "Like you never want me to stop talking."
A pause. If a punch to the gut can feel pleasant, Geralt thinks he has just experienced it. He stares at Jaskier, and the bard stares back, hesitant, uncertain as if of what he just dared to say. And Geralt is not good with words, he knows. But the shadow passing before Jaskier's eyes and the way he lowers his look, his stomach dropping with it, makes him swear he will get better, if it's to never see that particular shadow again. That veil of painful, unwanted memory.
Still. The veil vanishes at once, or that's what Jaskier tries to do, because he chuckles again with this carefree breath of his voice and sweeps a hand in the air. "Anyway, as I was saying I–"
"Jaskier."
He stops at once, as though waiting for this interruption, craving it. Geralt stares for a second more, then swallows and stands up, walking up to him. Gently, as though touching a statue of glass, he holds Jaskier's face inside his hands. Strokes his cheek with his thumb and as he looks into his eyes, he feels as though witnessing the most beautiful of blue skies.
Jaskier stiffens under his touch, unwillingly. "I mean," he chuckles humourlessly as if trying to justify an inexcusable weakness, cover up what is already broken, "I talk all the time, say random or– or weird stuff, I–" he averts his eyes, bites his lips, "–I'm not quite used to it, that's all. And I know you don't like–" He looks at him again, his gaze screaming, but he doesn't continue his sentence. He just shrugs, smiles as if in apology.
A deep sigh, and Geralt's touch becomes just a bit firmer, just enough to make Jaskier swallow and close his eyes, lean into it. Geralt nods in silent, almost unexpected understanding and presses his lips on Jaskier's forehead, lingering.
Then, slowly, like an intimate ritual, he rests his own forehead where he previously kissed him. As though to seal a promise. "I want to listen to your voice every day, as much as it's possible, for as long as time holds our fates together." Jaskier opens his eyes and meets his gaze, faintly glistening. Geralt smiles at him, begging almost. "Please," he whispers and it sounds like a prayer, "please don't deprive me of it any sooner."
He sees it, the veil. He sees it falling. And Jaskier smiles wide and finally, finally Geralt can tell that it's genuine. "I won't." A soft kiss on his lips, loving in all its haste. Jaskier draws back, beaming. "I promise."
Geralt huffs and pulls a stray curl aside from blue eyes and behind Jaskier's ear, takes in the scent, the warmth, the laughter, everything he can grasp before it's gone, and suddenly he knows.
When Jaskier starts talking again, something in his heart settles.

You had never seen Jin so angry. The look on his face was almost enough to make you feel absolutely terrified, even if you knew that anger wasn’t directed at you.
There was no getting past being honest with Jin after he already heard so much. So Yoongi had grabbed his arm and hurriedly dragged him into the stairwell before attempting to calm him down and explain what he had heard.
But there was apparently no calming him down.
“And you guys felt like this wasn’t important information to share?” Seokjin asked.
“We thought it was better if less people knew about it,” Taehyung replied. “There’s nothing we can do at this point, and Bang PD already told noona that he’s going to let her finish healing without anything else being asked of her.”
“That doesn’t make it any less wrong,” Seokjin agitatedly replied. “Are you just letting it slide? Not going to do anything about it?”
“If you heard about that, then didn’t you hear what I told noona?” Yoongi asked, meeting Jin’s intensity.
“I heard Y/n saying about the article’s release being intentional and done behind her back,” Jin answered. “I wasn’t close enough to make out anything before that. But frankly, I don’t care what you said, Yoongi. Something should be done about it!”
“First of all, would you just- please calm down,” Yoongi said, attempting to do the same for himself. “Don’t go waking the whole building. And you should care about what I said before that. What do you want us to do, hyung? Barge into Bang’s office, tell him how much of an injustice it was, and demand he compensate her?”
“Sure, that sounds like a great start,” Jin said, still obviously very agitated, but his voice at a reasonable volume.
“Okay, then what?” Yoongi asked. “Do you think he’s going to just admit it? Do you think there is no chance whatsoever of it affecting noona’s job? Or our own? Do you really want to risk everything you’ve worked for for years, and risk making noona losing her job, make her have to move back home? While she’s still healing?”
“He can’t just do stuff like that, though!” Jin replied incredulously.
“He’s a businessman, Jin,” you said. “He saw an opportunity to better your guys’ image and popularity and he took it.”
Your friend turned to you and furrowed his brows. “You’re not telling me right now that you’re okay with him just- just using you like that, are you?”
“Of course I’m not!” you whisper yelled, making the boys around you flinch. “It is constantly bothering me. He called me earlier today, and I felt so awkward I had no idea how to talk to him. He apologized for asking me to go to the airport to pick you guys up, but I wanted so badly for him to come clean and apologize about the article instead. I can’t tell you how much I want to just wheel right into his office and demand that he tell me what he did and why he did it, even if I already know. I want to hear it straight from his mouth, and I want him to tell me he knows he did something wrong and say he’ll never do it again. But it’s not going to happen, Jin. It’s just not.”
Letting all of the anger you’ve felt over the situation out in your rant made you feel breathless. The others remained quiet for a moment, probably unsure of how to respond to something like that.
“Yoongi is right,” you said. “It’s wrong, and he shouldn’t have done it. I’m getting more attention than I ever asked for and it’s nerve-wracking being this much in the public eye. But what good will it do to ask for an apology? It will make him aware that I know what he did, and probably wonder who else knows. I have no idea if I’d get fired, if he’ll do something to make sure that I can’t tell anyone. And I’m scared of how it could affect you guys. I needed to talk to Tae and Yoongi today because I just had a lot of emotions and wanted to confront him, but knew it wasn’t a good idea and they helped reason that with me.”
Jin chewed on the inside of his cheek while he calmed himself down. “I’m still not okay with this.”
“Neither am I,” you admitted. “But what else can we do, really? Other than hope that he decides to come clean about it on his own.”
“Hyung, please promise you won’t do anything,” Tae pleaded in a small voice. “I really wish I could too, believe me. But I just don’t think this is one of those things we can fight.”
Seokjin didn’t look any of you in the eyes while he said, “Don’t worry, I won’t. I’m sorry for exploding like that, I just-” he sighed, unable to finish his sentence.
“I know, hyung,” Yoongi said, placing a hand on Jin’s shoulder. “I felt the same when I found out. I understand.”
“Now I get why he’s acting so apologetic, though,” Seokjin said. “When he gave us permission to take a long break to take you out of the house, he just seemed odd. I couldn’t place what it was, but it was almost like he felt guilty. Which I guess could be explained by the airport, but it felt like more than that.”
“I mean, being attacked by a couple of sasaengs does make one afraid to leave the house when they’re so defenseless,” you said, laughing a little. “If I could stand on my feet and run away, that’s one thing, but I’m literally at others’ mercy like this.”
“That’s why you have us to protect you,” Tae said, smiling widely at you.
You smiled back, feeling more at ease now that you were all on the same page.
“Alright, let’s get back before someone else gets curious and eavesdrops,” Yoongi said, sending Jin a teasing look.
It was Jin who took you back to your apartment, helping you into bed. Nobody really argued when he silently decided he’d do it, figuring it would help him feel better to help you in the ways that he at least knew he could.
“I seriously can’t wait until you can start walking again,” he said as he helped you gather your covers and tuck in. “Not that it’s a burden to help you, but just because I know how frustrating it is for you.”
You chuckled. “Yeah, you and me both.”
Jin suddenly looked serious as he sat on the edge of your bed. “Y/n, you know you can always come to me for anything, right? If you need anything, I’m here for you.”
You smiled at him. “I know Jin. I promise I will. If I need to talk or just need some company or something, you’re the first person I’d go to.”
“You really are like family, you know?” he said. “It’s not just me. But you really are like a sister to me. So I want to be a good brother to you.”
“You are, Jin. I treasure your friendship. And I love being a part of this family. I would never trade any of you guys for anything.”
“Even if it meant you’d instantly be rich?”
“Absolutely,” you didn’t hesitate to answer. “I’d pick living a poor and hard life if it meant that I had the seven of you with me. I’d even be willing to be stuck in a wheelchair for life.”
Jin laughed quietly. “Well, we’re for sure going to try to not let any of that happen. But thank you, I’m sure we all feel the same.”
He gave your hand a squeeze as he leaned in to kiss your forehead before getting up and you one last ‘good night’ while he left.
You really did have such a wonderful family here.

By now it had been about two months since your injury. It could take up to six for your legs to fully heal, and with you staying entirely off your feet the hope was that you’d heal more quickly than that.
Two days after that night in the stairwell, Mrs. Kim attended your doctor appointment with you. She was really sweet and you couldn’t have been more grateful for her wanting to keep you company during this short time. It was especially a relief having someone with you when you visited the doctor. Not that you were scared of hospitals or anything, but you often had trouble remembering to ask questions and just nodded along to what the doctor told you. So someone else being there who could remember to do so was a huge help.
After an x-ray of your legs to see how the bones were healing, your doctor informed you that the healing process was going well. It would still be a little while before he recommended anything like walking, but they were at least healed enough that putting some weight on them shouldn’t have been bothersome.
To test it out, he asked you to place your feet on the floor and put a small amount of pressure on them and told you to immediately stop if you felt any pain. You found that it didn’t really hurt with just a bit of weight, but it did feel weird to do so for the first time in so long.
With the confirmation that it didn’t cause any pain, he told you that you were able to assist when people helped you in and out of your chair now. They still had to hold the majority of your weight, but walking lightly to help make it easier on them was no problem.
It was small progress, but it made you feel happy and excited, nonetheless.
After the doctor appointment, you decided you wanted to go back to the office first and let Bang and hopefully the boys know the news.
You felt nervous since this would be your first time seeing him in person since you learned about the article, at least if he was available to see you. But you felt it was important that he knew any progress in your condition and it wasn’t like you could avoid him forever. You had to see him at some point, so might as well rip the band-aid off now.
Your boss ended up not being at his office, and a quick message to Sejin let you know that the boys were practicing choreography for the concert so you headed toward the practice room in the meantime. You waited outside with Mrs. Kim, watching through the window as they practiced for Boyz With Fun. The choreography for the song was more lighthearted and didn’t need to be precise since the song was mostly for fun, but it was still very high energy.
When the song ended and didn’t restart right away, Taehyung’s mother knocked lightly on the door, not wanting to intrude without permission. It was Hoseok who came to open it, smiling brightly despite looking exhausted. “Hello eomeoni, noona. What are you guys doing here?”
“We wanted to stop and say hi,” you said. “We just came from my doctor appointment.”
“Oh, that’s right! That was today!” Hoseok sounded excited. “You can come in. We’re due for a break anyway.”
He opened the door wide, holding it while you wheeled through after Tae’s mom.
“You had your appointment today?” Namjoon asked from his spot on the floor through ragged breaths. “How’d it go?”
“My legs are healing well,” you said with a smile. “He said I can put a little bit of pressure on my feet now.”
“Really?!” Jimin asked, sitting up straight after having been laying flat on the floor.
You nodded. “No walking or anything yet, but he said I can put some weight on them to help when you guys are moving me in and out of the chair.”
“That’s great!” Tae said, smiling widely as your eyes met his. “That’s huge progress. That means your bones are healing really well.”
You smiled softly, feeling your heart skip a beat. It felt silly, but everyone seemed so enthusiastic and made it seem like it was such a big deal when it was really only just a small amount of progress.
That, and how are you supposed to not feel affected when Taehyung was staring at you like that.
“Yes, the doctor said she’s healing really well,” Mrs. Kim said. “He said she’s healing faster than they expected, almost as fast as they hoped she would. He expects it to be no more than two months, if that, until she’s able to start getting back on her feet.”
“And then you’ll be able to resume being our manager,” Jungkook said.
“Well, after I can walk again, yeah,” you said. “I can already feel how weak my legs are. They’re going to need a good amount of physical therapy before I can walk entirely unassisted.”
“But that’s still so much closer than it could have been,” Namjoon smartly added. “With how bad that fracture was, the doctor said it could have taken up to six months. But since you’ve been really good about resting your legs, I guess that helps a whole lot, huh?”
You nodded. “That’s what he said. He said he could tell that I’d been following his instructions to not put any pressure or weight on them.”
“How much longer are you boys practicing?” Mrs. Kim asked.
“Probably another hour,” Hoseok said. “We have a few things to refine, but we made a deal that if we can do the choreography with no mistakes for five runs in a row then we can go home early. I think we can do it.”
“Well, I guess I’d better go get dinner ready then, hm?” she responded. “I want to make something a little special today since we got the good news from the doctor.”
“It’s really no big deal, eomeoni,” you insisted.
“Nonsense! Every step is progress, and that’s something to celebrate.”
“I still need to let Bang know,” you said. “I might need to just call or text him to tell him.”
You could see Jin’s head turning to you out of the corner of your eye at the mention of your boss’ name. “We can tell him for you if you want,” he said.
“It’s fine.” You smiled in his direction. “I can talk to him.”
Jin took a moment to think before nodding, clearly understanding what you meant. You were okay with talking to him despite the fact that you still hadn’t quite gotten over what happened.
“Do you want to stay, noona?” Taehyung asked hesitantly. “I know you used to like to watch us practice. You could stay and go home with us?”
You turned toward his mother, about to ask her what she thought before she beat you to answering.
“That sounds like a lovely idea,” she said, smiling. “You have been wanting to get out of the house more anyway. Do you want to stay?”
“That would be nice,” you didn’t hesitate to answer. Seeing Tae’s boxy smile break out on his face at your response most certainly didn’t make your heart skip again. Not at all.
“Alright, I’ll see you back at your apartment in a little while then,” Mrs. Kim said before turning toward the door. “Take good care of her, boys!”
When she left, you wheeled yourself to the front of the room, as close to the corner as you could so you wouldn’t be in the way of their reflection.
“Do you want to sit on the floor?” Taehyung asked. “We can use our jackets to make a little seat for you, it might be more comfortable than your chair.”
You thought about it for a moment, realizing that that would help keep you more out of the way for them since your chair could be folded up as well. “If it’s not too much trouble, then sure. It’ll keep me from blocking your guys’ reflection, too.”
Taehyung’s eyes widened. “I didn’t mean it like that!” he backtracked, flailing his hands around a bit.
“Whatever is more comfortable for you is more important,” Namjoon chimed in. “You’re not in the way, not at all. But if you’d prefer to sit on the floor, then it’s no trouble for us.”
You smiled at their thoughtfulness. “I know that’s not why you asked, Tae. It’s okay, it was just my own concern. But yeah, if you don’t mind I would definitely like to spend some time out of this chair.’”
“Absolutely,” Jin answered, smiling reassuringly. Everyone jumped into action, grabbing their spare jackets to pile into the corner.
You wheeled yourself away so they could work and turned to look at what they were doing. A smile slowly spread across your face as you watched them quietly discuss how to set everything out so that it was the smoothest and most comfortable they could make it.
It made your heart swell, the amount of thought and care they put into such a small task. You really didn’t know what you would do without them.
After almost everyone sat on the little pile of clothes, testing to make sure that it was comfortable enough (It was only supposed to be Jimin, but then a few of the others decided they wanted to make sure themselves, which of course made you laugh), they dispersed and you approached the makeshift seat. You locked your wheels, Taehyung approaching to help you get out. Scooching forward as usual, you internally reminded yourself that it was okay to put some weight on your feet to help him out. Especially since you were being moved to the floor, it would require a bit more maneuvering than the usual chair-to-bed or vice versa.
But when Taehyung reached out for you, he wasn’t standing in front of you and with both arms reaching underneath your arms. He instead was a little to the side, one arm wrapping around your shoulders as the other looped underneath your knees. Just as you were opening your mouth to ask what he was doing, he lifted you with ease, hands reflexively linking behind his neck to keep yourself steady.
Before you could even blink you were being held princess style, which most definitely wasn’t the standard way of picking someone up out of a wheelchair. You had to resist the urge to tuck your face into his chest to hide your embarrassment, brain working well enough to notice that that would only make things worse.
“What are you doing?” you finally managed to ask as he knelt down next to the clothing pile to set you down. “Why’d you pick me up like that?”
“It was easier,” he answered. “Less shuffling and easier to get you sitting down.”
It felt like forever before you were finally sitting on the floor, even though it must have must have been no more than ten seconds. Once he pulled away you found yourself feeling simultaneously relieved and disappointed at the loss of his warmth.
Looking up at the others, you caught the knowing smirk and raised eyebrows on Jin’s face. You felt a sudden urge to smack the expression off of him, but of course you couldn’t exactly get up and walk.
“Comfy?” Hoseok asked, giving some of the material around you another fluff for good measure.
“Yes, it’s nice and soft. Thank you,” you said.
“Good,” he responded. “Alright, let’s get her chair folded up and get back to practice, guys!”
It was really nice to watch them practice again. It felt so normal, you could almost forget that your injury ever happened and like you were still working with your boys almost every day.
At one point, when they had just a moment in between runs through the choreography, Jimin captured a selfie of the two of you. He sent it to Sejin with what he wanted to caption it with to get it approved before saving to post on Twitter later.
It ended up being closer to two hours, rather than the one that Hobi projected, before they were perfect enough to head home early. Luckily, you weren’t picked up so intimately this time as you were helped back into your chair by Yoongi. He said he wanted to let you practice and get used to letting your feet rest on the floor and help do some of the work.
You appreciated your heart being saved from anymore palpitations today.
Even on the walk home, you felt so refreshed at even the smallest return to normalcy that you didn’t care about Jungkook wanting to push your chair for you when you’d usually insist on wheeling yourself.
Mrs. Kim’s delicious homemade dinner filled with laughter and the company of your closest friends warmed your heart even more, so by the time you got around to texting your boss if he was available and calling him when he responded, you didn’t feel even the slightest pit in your stomach as you had the previous day.
You still had quite a while to go, but everyone was right. You were making progress and despite how small, it was reason enough to be excited and celebrate. It was enough to help keep you going as you waited for the day that you could walk again, at least for now. Nothing was perfect and there were certainly more things that you needed to personally work through, but it was the little steps to be celebrated that would help you climb your way there.
After laying down for the night, you got the notification that BTS tweeted. You clicked to see a sweet but short message about how you heard good news from the doctor today, and how excited they were to have you cheering on their practice.
You fell asleep with a smile on your face and dreamt of your head pressed against a warm chest while strong arms carried you.

Chapter 39
Thirty minutes before they wrapped up the promotion, the boys were interacting diligently with fellow Armys and enjoyed the remaining time left before they bid a real goodbye. God knows when will they be having their comeback again? Months from now maybe?
There were few fans left in the line waiting for their albums to be signed and as usual Bangtan Sonyeondan gave all their best until the end like they usually did. Jin and Hoseok chirpy voice diverted Jimin attention to those two whom sat three seats away from him.
He glanced at the fan stood straight in from of them with an obvious bulgy stomach. A pregnant young lady that looked like in his early 20’s was having a lively conversation with the two pranksters. They were basically asking her about the baby inside her stomach while Hoseok made an attempt to poke her belly, Jin swatted his hand away claiming that he’s being rude.
The beautiful young lady laughed at their silliness and bowed slightly, before inching slowly towards Yoongi side. Jungkook looked amused and didn’t wait for her to move to his side, joining Yoongi with the conversation.
Jimin tore his gaze from them and smiled sweetly at the fans knelt before him. As usual, Jimin listened to the girl story attentively and even teased her making the girl blushed in process. The staff had ordered the fan to move as time was running out, and the fan earlier was soon replaced by the pregnant lady.
“It is Jimin! Hi!” she said excitedly, placing the album on the table.
Jimin flinched at her friendliness and nodded with a smile “Hi. What is your name?”
“Na Yeoul!” her chirpy but soft voice was addictive.
“Are you here alone Yeoul-ssi? How many months pregnant are you?” Yeoul took a deep breath, getting tired over a simple conversation that she had with previous members. She took a moment to respond to his question. Jimin looked concern and offered her to take a seat, with that he called out one of the staffs to bring a chair for her to sit.
The female staff assisted Yeoul to sit down and she thanked her before answering his question, “I come here alone and 37 weeks pregnant” his brows knitted, thinking intently.
“Yeoul-ssi, shouldn’t you be staying home or hospital? It is your critical stage, right?” Jimin freaked out knowing the risk that she took just to meet them.
She nodded in agreement “Yes. However, my baby told me that he is craving to see Bangtan Sonyeondan ” she stroked her belly, smiling softly.
“What type of craving is that? I thought it only meant for food..So, it is a he? Do you have a name for him?” her lips curled into a smile.
Pursing her lips into a pout, Yeoul hummed softly “Not yet. I will think of a name soon. It feels good to see your face before my due, thank you for making it happen” he was smiling from ear to ear while signing her albums before handing it back to her.
“But it is your due, 37 weeks”
“I am the one carrying the baby not you” she blinked.
He let out a small chuckle “I pray that you will deliver this beautiful baby safely. Visit us again with your baby in the future okay?” Yeoul hugged the album closed to her chest and stood up slowly. Seeing her struggle, Jimin took her arms and helped the pregnant lady to stand.
“Thank you Jimin-ssi”
“See you again Yeoul-ssi”  as she was about to move to next member, Yeoul felt a surge of pain around her lower abdomen. She bit her lower lips, feeling the cramps worsening that panicked Namjoon and Taehyung.
“Are you alright?” Namjoon scrutinized her dark expression and realized something was off. Jimin quickly went to her side turning the hall into a dead silent for few minutes as everyone’s attention were on the pregnant lady on stage.
Other members, followed by the staff moved to inspect the scene and like a cue they heard Yeoul’s soft scream “OH MY GOD” everyone started to panic.
“Her water broke!” the audience gasped in horror.
Yeoul squished Jimin’s hand, breathing heavily as she could no longer withstand the pain. The staffs had spread out, calling the ambulance and some were looking for a comfortable seat for her while waiting for help.
“Calm your breathing. Do not panic” Jimin massaged her arms with the help of one of the female staff.
“How can I calm down when I am about to deliver my baby on this stage! OH MY GOD” she said dramatically. Even in situation like this, she was acting like a drama queen which amused Jimin. Do all women acted like Yeoul?
“The ambulance will be here soon, don’t worry Yeoul-ssi” Hoseok stared at her in horror. The image of a woman giving birth on stage in an unprotected environment scared him to the core. The pure baby need to be protected at all cost.
Yeoul let out another small shriek, while steadying her breathing “If I give birth here, my baby better be the next Bangtan Sonyeondan” she blurted out of the blue earning chuckles from the floor. Jimin wiped off the bead of sweat that started to trickle down from her forehead using his sleeves.
“OH MY GOD I CAN FEEL IT” Yeoul shrieked again louder than before.
“Yah don’t give birth here! Hold the baby in” Jin panicked.
“Are you crazy?! How can I hold the baby? It is not a friggin faeces. It is a real huma-SHIT IT IS COMING” the crowd was horrified to hear Yeoul voice. She was groaning in pain and trashing some random shits not caring whether it is Bangtan Sonyeondan or heard by many Armys whom attended the event.
The staffs have assisted all the fans to leave the venue and the members apologized to those who didn’t manage to get their albums signed. However, the company promised to compensate them later on. They have an important thing to settle at the moment.
“The ambulance is here!” one of the staffs hollered, as he sprinted inside sending a wave of relief. Manager Sejin helped to move Yeoul on the stretcher with the help of Jungkook, Namjoon and the two crews.
‘Please be alright’ Jimin stood there frozen watching her body being moved safely inside the ambulance.
 ----------------------
BTS’s Baby made it to major headlines and became a hot topic among the netizen. Everyone was excited upon hearing the news. They were referring the baby as BTS’s baby because of the incident took place during their fansign.
The members of Bangtan paid Yeoul a visit after their schedule ended and the rumours previous night died down for a moment to commemorate the newborn baby. Little did they know the members were already knocked down by Yeoul bluntness, more like every word that she spouted sent them off the grid.
“I am naming my son Minyeol. Jimin plus Yeoul, Minyeol!” she chortled, batting her eyelashes innocently at Jimin causing the latter to blush in his stance.
“Shouldn’t you be naming him after your husband’s name? Why are you dragging me in? That makes me feel uncomfortable” he mumbled lowly.
“Yeoul-ssi, what about your husband?” Jin tilted his head
“What about him?”
“Urm… you are combining your name and my name, for your son. I don’t want to cause any misunderstanding” he chewed his lips, glancing at others for help. Namjoon shrugged with a teasing smile, he enjoyed watching Jimin being tamed by a girl.
Yeoul puckered her lower lips, expelling a long sigh “There is no husband. I don’t need anyone’s approval” the revelation made their eyes flung open. They didn’t expect a woman at this age to lose her husband tragically and gave birth to a child alone. Yeah, the boys really assumed her husband was dead. Bangtan were scrutinizing her expression to catch any sign of sadness, but she remained stoic and calm.
That didn’t last long when the pale lady opened her mouth. “That piece of shit, after planting his fucking seeds in me, he ran away with some bitch to Japan. Ugh, a mere thought of him angered me to the fucking core” the words flown like flying bullets ripped their innocent ears.
“Heol..” Namjoon took a deep breath, gawking at the weak girl on the bed as though she had just committed the biggest crime of the century.
“YOU!” she yelled angrily directing towards Jimin. The latter flinched at the sudden attack, as he watched she waggled her finger while recollecting her thoughts. “I will keep that name, Minyeol” “What?” stupefied, he cursed in his head judging this bipolar lady before him.
“Are you Jimin hyung fan?” the maknae finally spoke up after keeping his mouth shut for hours.
With zero hesitation, Yeoul shook her head “I am your fan. For an add reason, these days I am more to Jimin. No offense though, I am sure that is part of my craving” Jungkook scrunched his nose in confusion.
“Hey so I am just a substitute?” way to add more salt to his wound.
“Arent you guys tired? Thank you for checking on me but I am fine. Have a good rest so I can start teaching Minyeol to call Jimin daddy” she teased.
“Yah! Don’t ruin his innocent mind”
“Minyeol is my son. I can do what I want. Why are you so nosy?” she snickered sarcastically.
Jimin batted it away with a roll of his eye “Not when you just dissed me openly”
Amused, Yoongi mouthed everyone to leave the room giving the space for the two to banter until their energy drained. He had no energy to listen to their endless bicker from the moment they arrived there until now. Yoongi had enough.
They made their way out quietly, minding their own business whilst Jimin tried to reclaim his throne as Yeoul’s bias from Jungkook. More like fixing his reputation.
 -------------
As night falls, Jungkook put on his casual outfits to go out. He had been waiting for these days to come since forever. Now that their promotion ended, he needed to hear it from Seul directly before conforming to reality.
“Are you sure you can do this alone?” Jimin glanced at his way.
“Yes. This is the only way. I promise to come back home after meeting Seul-ie” he smiled in assurance, grabbing his beanie and mask. “Thank you hyung, for everything” Jimin walked up to him, patting his back as an acknowledgment.
“You can do this. Call me when you are done. Be careful” Jungkook’s genuine smile put his heart at ease. With one final glance, the golden maknae exited his room with determination. It was the right time to face Seul before Yoongi made the first move. He didnt want to prolong this unrequited love any longer.
 -------------
“Seul! Seul!” dashing from the kitchen to the front using last ounce of her energy as though time is running out for her. She panted heavily, with one palm up seeking for a minute before she could break the news to Seul.
Seul raised one of her brows in amusement “What is wrong with you?”
“Okay. Remember I told you about the rumours from Namjoon’s Vlive a week ago?” Seul nodded briefly, and mentally judging her best friend. “The rumour resurfaces again!” she squealed in the most annoying way.
She clasped her ears to quell the sound from damaging her eardrums. BTS members told her about the rumours and how it trended on twitter and naver, however they assured her everything would be alright since it was only a mere assumption from the fans. Seul thought the rumours died upon the news about an Army almost giving birth at their fansign caused an uproar among the fans.
So, it came back again. This world is scary.
“You don’t need to squeal in my ears. For goodness’ sake. I thought their fans are only playing detective, and no one talked about that anymore”
Hwasa rolled her eyes “This time it is not the Armys. Dispatch spilled a tea. Someone tipped them off about Yoongi’s unusual activities in his studio. They said the reason why Yoongi had his studios secured with passwords and high-quality door because he brought women to his studio and slept with them” frowning deeply, Seul turned to her friend dropping everything that she did.
“Since when you trust words coming from dispatch? Yoongi wouldn’t do such thing” she defended.
“Hear me out before you get angry. I swear this is big and real. So, this anonymous claimed that Yoongi owns a personal Instagram and he usually updated his story there. This person sent a screenshot of ‘Yoongi’ Instagram story to Dispatch. In that Instagram story, Yoongi wrote “I have a lot of pussy lately”. That man is bragging how much he and his girl friend have sex. If this is true, I cant see Yoongi the way I am seeing him now. It is gross, he doesn’t need to announce it to the whole world that he got some pussy that week” Seul’s expression darkened as her heart was racing madly. She didn’t know how to react to this, since she was never a fan of dispatch or other medias. The only thing that they did all these years were to smear shits on BTS’s names.
Noticing the air inside the room thickened, Hwasa stopped talking and examined Seul’s face “Yah..Are you alright? You are scaring me!”
Gritting her teeth together, she sighed “Show me the article, now!” her voice sounded demanding and harsh.
“Seul-ie.. I am not done, there is more. Are you sure you want to read it by your own?” “Yes. Now Hwasa. Give it to me” her brows pinched together, trying to surpass her anger.
Slowly, she handed her phone to Seul which she took it without uttering any words. Seul scanned the screen with beating heart, even though she wasn’t that ready to read whatever written in the article.

Breaking: BTS’s Suga flaunting his sex life with his alleged girlfriend
Following up the rumours a week ago pertaining to a suspicious shadow from BTS’s leader RM studios door during his vlive, this time Dispatch had finally come up with a proof to answer the mysterious shadows.
Dispatch claimed that an anonymous had sent a screen shot of what they believed to be Suga’s personal Instagram. A short Instagram story with captions “I have a lot of pussy lately” was posted by Suga indicating he’s having frequent sex with his girl friend these days.
They believed the mysterious shadow caught in RM’s Vlive was Suga and his girlfriend. The image of the mysterious shadow spread like wildfire a week ago within the fans community and some were assuming one of the members are in a serious relationship.
Fans are debating the possible members that fits the criteria even though, it is hard to tell whether it is the member of BTS or staffs, fans are still open to any possibility. Many fans demanded an official statement from Big Hit to stop the rumours from circulating around and injured BTS image even more especially Suga.
“That is the first article, if you scroll below..You will find the second article” Hwasa’s voice sounded unsure and shaky. “Seul.. I hope you will be okay after reading the second article” Seul paid no attention to Hwasa as she returned to read the second part.

Breaking: Underground rapper Stephanie claims she’s one of BTS Suga many exes?
Within 24 hours, the news of BTS Suga once again shook the industry. This time around, like many rumours being pointed towards a rising star like BTS, someone from the past finally stepped out from her shadows to unravel the truth. Bitter truth!
Stephanie, a Korean-Canadian underground rapper claims that she’s one of BTS Suga many exes in her recent Instagram post. And what seems to attract everyone’s attention was her caption directed towards the star, accusing him as a playboy.
Tumblr media
“Why I am not surprised? Kekeke Yes, he always gets many pussies in a week because that’s what he only good at. I hope his current girlfriend realizes it sooner, that she is only another person from many girls that he fucked. Thankfully, I was out from the game earlier kekekee Good luck”
Armys are enraged with her Instagram post and demanded the rapper to pull down the post and apologized to Suga. It seems like Bighit owes another explanation to clear this mess.
Seul stood there silently making no move as she dissolved into tears upon reading the article. Like those days when her heart broke after learning the truth about her real father, she could feel the pain returned scaring her already fragile heart.
“Seul-ah…” taking a step towards Seul, Hwasa embraced the broken girl an attempt to clam her down. “Hey..Are you alright?” Seul shook her head in defeat, clutching onto Hwasa’s arm for support.
“If I were you, I would wait for his explanation. A moment ago you have a lot of faith in him, so you should keep that faith until you talk to him” she stroked her hair, sighing softly.
“I know..I don’t know why I am crying. It is not like we are in a relationship. Its hurt so badly” sniffling a little, she tried not to sob yet she failed to control her emotion.
Smiling meekly, Hwasa retorted “You love him, Yoongi. You are hurt because you love him. Don’t you realize that?” blinking away her tears, Seul pulled away from the hug with a wary look.
“I am not sure now if that is love”
“It is love. You are stupid”
Seul wanted to protest but a voice boomed across the room garnered their attention “Jungkook?” surprised by his sudden appearance there, Hwasa whispered softly “Go talk to him. I can close the shop alone” she insisted giving Seul no chance but to agree on her so-called order.
“Seul, did you read the article?” nodding weakly, Seul’s gaze fixated on the ground. Jungkook rushed to her workplace as soon as he received a text on their kakaotalk group in relation to Yoongi’s article. Everyone was panicking, and they were summoned to the company in an hour for an emergency meeting.
He couldn’t leave Seul alone when he was sure this girl might already come across the article. The tears evident on her cheeks was enough to tell him that she’s affected by the rumours. Indeed, Jungkook took the right decision by giving up on Seul.
Jungkook held her wrist, sending chills down her spin. Her lower lip quivered fighting with her own tears, she was not supposed to be seen this weak in front of him. He mumbled lowly “Follow me. I owe you an answer” she looked up looking a little confuse.
Jungkook is trustworthy, she must give him a chance.

In the corner of the library at 7 o’clock in the morning, you sit curled up on a study-chair with your reading glasses stuck to your face. Finals week. Every other paragraph you write down a few notes and your handwriting is beginning to look more and more like hieroglyphics. Despite the stress from a bunch of classes, your glad that your classmate just informed you of the donor requested break policy—a policy that no one had bothered to mention to you.
Basically, you can request a period where you don’t feed and they respect it. You requested two weeks, and despite the cries from Tae and Jimin to make an exception, you declined—you need a break. After everything that’s been happening, Rain coming here, Jungkook acting out, and even Yoongi, it’s been really stressful and Jin actually thought a break was just what you needed to regroup.
“Y/n, I was wondering where you were,” Namjoon peeks around the corner, “still studying I see.”
“Yeah, I have a test at 9 so just thought I’d just get some extra studying in.”
“Hm,” He nods, “so how are you liking your break?”
You furrow your brow and look up at him briefly. “It’s nice.”
“That’s nice.” He nods, leaning against the bookshelf for no reason.
“Um, did you need something or?—”
“I was wondering, what is your field of study?”
“I’ve been in general studies up until now, why do you ask?”
“Jin wanted me to ask you if you were interested in the botany program. An internship just opened and he thought you’d be great for it.” He finally gets to what he came here to say.
Your eyes brighten. “Really? Well, I’ve always thought about botany but I never knew much about it. Would I have to change any of my classes if I started the program?”
“No, we might switch one of your classes around with one of the required courses for the program but it won’t be difficult. Besides, your grades are good so I don’t think an extra class would put you in a rough spot. I’ve skimmed through your test scores and I’m proud, especially of your biology test. Honestly, you were struggling so much in our study sessions, I didn’t think you were gonna make it, but you did.” He grins like a proud teacher and you giggle because that's not the first time Namjoon has shared his concern regarding your lack of promise during lessons. “What? I’m proud.”
“Namjoon, you sound like my advisor or something,” You laugh, putting your book down to stretch your legs and pull your hoddie hood off your head.
“I kind of am in a way,” He takes his hand out of his pocket to comb it through his hair, “your academic life is important to me.”
“Quick question, why didn’t Jin just tell me about this himself? He normally would tell me something like that over tea or something, is he really busy this morning?”
“You know the whole Jungkook situation is stressing him out so he’s relying on me to relay the message, but he sends his love. He’ll be out for a majority of the day and if you accept the offer, you’ll be packing for the botanical sciences retreat so you’ll see him tonight.”
“A retreat?” You have the widest smile, “You mean like a vacation?”
“No, not a vacation- Although, the botanical gardens on the Island are exceptionally beautiful this time of year the spas there are amazing-”
“Islands!? I get to go to the Island and its for school? I’m definitely accepting now.” You glance up at the clock on the wall and sigh, “I’ll see you later, I gotta go sign in for testing.” You pack up your books and Namjoon watches you run off and out of the library.
Namjoon has been thinking a lot about your time here at the college and over the past year, he’s realized some things. Firstly, he’s recognized that there aren’t many donors that get the opportunity to spend as much time as you do with people like him. He’s got scholarly titles that he’s not even sure you know about and some of the top-paying families have paid him to mentor their children. But here you are, not rich by any means, in fact, you’re here on a well-deserved scholarship awarded by Jin. And he’s felt like he’s taken you under his wing and all he’s wants is for you is the best.
It’s almost a maternal feeling he has towards you and your education. That’s a lot coming from him, he’s not the type to just dish out his help like a tutoring center. Normally he wants compensation of some sort. He has an extraordinary mind and one lesson with him can cost a pretty penny if they’re willing.
Namjoon left the library and went back to Jungkook’s lovely little abode across the campus. But rather than Jungkook being inside looking for something to get into, he was out on the track, running to his heart's content.
Namjoon approaches the track and Jungkook’s personal trainer is standing at the finish line with his hands on his hips.
“He’s doing well. Working out has lightened him up a little bit,” The trainer says, watching Jungkook run up to them when he caught Namjoon’s eye.
“Hyung,” He slows down, panting lightly with his damp hair sticking to the side of his face, “hey,”
“Hey, Jungkook. You look refreshed,” Namjoon grins, “I came to let you know that we’re leaving tonight and your uncle will be stopping by tomorrow morning to check on you.” The trainer says Jungkook can go shower because they’re done for the day so they make they’re way to the house.
“Where are you going?”
“Botany retreat, it’s a three-day trip. Jin is going and for the first day and since Y/n has entered the program, she’s going too.”
“Oh...” Jungkook looked down for a moment, a bit shy suddenly, “H- How is she by the way?”
“She’s good. Right now she’s taking a donor break so she’s living like a normal human girl.” Namjoon was slightly taken aback but he answered nonetheless. “Why do you ask?”
Jungkook runs the back of his neck and sighs. “Uh, I don’t know, I was wondering if she was still mad at me or something.”
“You’d have to ask her. She’s been busy with her studies lately, so I’m sure the last thing she’s worried about is being mad at you.”
Jungkook had to laugh, knowing you two were always at odds made him like you even more.  “Beleive it or not, I do feel bad for what I did to her. I mean, don’t get me wrong, I don’t take back what I said but I can see why I went about it in the wrong way.”
“That’s a start I guess.” Namjoon scoffed, not surprised by Jungkook’s partial apology. “Well, while we’re gone just call if you need anything.” He gives the younger a hug before saying his final goodbyes as he walked back to the main university building.

“Last time I checked, you aren’t in the botany program, Taehyung. So you won’t be joining us.”
Jin is sitting in the office part of his bedroom as a maid packs his suitcase with the appropriate attire for the island. Taehyung came in here not too long ago and he refuses to leave because he’s trying to get Jin to let him tag along.
“But I can transfer over, can’t I?”
“Taehyung, that’s so short notice, what program are you in now? Psychology, right?”
“The only reason I’m in that program is because of my abilities. My parents want me to know how to use my gift with a well-rounded understanding of how the mind works. It’s so boring sometimes.” Tae leans on the desk with a pout.
“Look, you have to finish your program. Your parents are right, your gift can really help people if you know how to use it. But,” Jin sighs, “I think we have room for one more guest.”
“Thank you, thank you, thank you!”
Taehyung bolts out of the room to pack his bag and Jin just shakes his head. If there’s one person who could talk him into something, it was Taehyung—that’s the only time he’s annoyed by his powers.
“Sir, your bag is packed, is there anything else you need?”
“No, thank you, Bella, you can go.” Jin dismisses her and his eyes go back to his computer. This trip has always been something he’s looked forward to. Even though he normally can’t stay for the entirety of the trip, the first two nights are always beautiful. The gardens are very well-maintained and every time he goes he learns about new medicinal herbs that he purchases to bring back to the schools.
Namjoon slips through the door after mentally sending Jin a little warning.
“Do you come bearing gifts?” Jin grins to himself when he sees the plate in Namjoon’s hands.
“As a matter of fact, I do.” He sits a plate of assorted pastries in front of him. “The pastry chef just put these out, she let me have first pick.” He smiles, taking the chocolate croissant for himself with swiftness.
“Thank you, I was getting a little hungry,” JIn takes on and sits it on a napkin so he can finish typing, “did you talk to her by the way?” Jin peeks up at Namjoon whos sitting idly in the chair in front of the desk.
“I did, she accepted and she’s pretty excited about it.”
“Oh, I’m glad,” He sighs in relief, “this program will be good for her.”
“Yeah, I think so too...But, just curious, what’s the sudden interest in her entering this program?”
“Honestly, I don’t think I’ve been doing my job very well. Ever since she’s started attending this school, I’ve realized forgotten that she’s not just here to give blood. I know that’s the exchange for her degree but that’s not all she is. I’ve let her unusual situation influence what I allow and don’t allow. I mean, she’s close to me, I have a relationship with her that I don’t and never have had with any other donor. I feel like during this trip, once I leave she’ll have time to just be a student, no blood-related pressure or anything like that.”
“I get that, but you do have to remember her situation as well, she’s not just any donor, she’s the only one with blood like that in this country, let alone this school. That comes with a different set of rules and you shouldn’t feel guilty because you’re trying to figure that out.”
“Yeah, that’s true. But I do need her to spend some time outside of the university for a little bit, just so she can take time to focus on other things other than everyone wanting her for blood.”

It was finally over, your last test of the day and midterms were no longer holding you mentally captive. You’re strolling through the campus to meet up with Jimin at the campus bakery before you leave this evening. He said he had a few art pieces he wanted to show you and you thought you’d make it a date.
When you open the bakery door, he’s sitting at one of the windows and his eyes land on yours. “Y/n,” His smile brightens as he stands up to pull out your seat, “how are you, love?”
“I’m good, done with finals.” You give him a hug and he pecks your cheek. You take a seat and so does he.
“Well, to be honest,” He opens up his folder, “your donor break is killing me a little bit. But I’m glad to see you, spend a little time with you before you go.”
“Yeah, I’ll be back before you know it. So, what are the pieces you wanted to show me?”
“This one,” He pulls out a sheet of paper and puts it in front of you, “it’s inspired by the pond near my family's retreat.”
“It’s beautiful, Jimin.” The pond on the painting is filled with lilies, the reflection of the trees nearby. The colors remind you of Monet, the impressionism is something you wish you could do as effortlessly as him. “What are these for?”
“The universities are having a joint exhibition and they want artists from royal families to participate in the collection. They chose me from my family, I was surprised they didn’t choose my mother. She’s got more talent than my whole family combined.”
“Is this something you want to do professionally?”
“I thought about teaching classes on the side, but I don’t know.”
You smile. “That’s a great idea! I know a lot of people who’d love a lesson with you-”
“But I don’t think I can...My parents, they want something else for me. They’re fine with me continuing art but they can be really particular when it comes to my interests. They’d want to practice the art a prestigious art academy and feature in global exhibitions, that’s all a little too much for me right now.’
Your excitement dies down as his statement reminded you that he isn’t entirely free, he’s under his family’s jurisdiction in more areas of his life then you realize.
“It wouldn’t hurt to just try, you might end up loving teaching,” You have such a hopeful expression, “and your parents might just be okay with that,”
“Maybe,” He smiles, “Hey, I wanted to say that I’m so sorry for setting you up with Jungkook, I never formally apologized to you.”
“Jimin, it’s still hard for me to grasp anything that happens in this place,” You scoff, “You put me in a position where I was vulnerable, he could have done anything to me.” His eyes lower and you know he’s just beating himself up right now.
“But he didn’t do anything to me, so we got lucky. I know it was your feeding cycle and you probably didn’t take your medicine, right?” He shakes his head. “You need to get back on that medicine, it keeps you and others safe. But Jimin, it’s okay, I know you didn’t mean it.” You place your hand on his and give him a genuine smile
“Y/n,” Namjoon walked into the cafe, “we’re leaving in 20 minutes, you should make sure you’re all packed before we put the luggage on the bus.”
“Oh, ok,” You stand up and walk around the little table to Jimin, “bye Jimin, I’ll see you when I get back.” He stands up and you hug him for a few seconds.
He pecked your cheek and bid you farewell, already eager for your return as you follow Namjoon out of his sight. You rush to the common area where the students were advised to take their luggage. You look around for your suitcase and carry-on, you find it right where you had put it and let out a sigh of relief.
“I have everything.” You state confidently.
“Are you sure?”
“Yeah, of course.” You nod, “well, I might have left-”
“Your toothbrush, you can run and get it, be quick.”
Of course, he knew. You run to your bedroom and to your bathroom where you skim over everything just in case you might have forgotten anything else. Quickly, you grab an extra perfume, your toothbrush and walk down the hall—that’s when you realize you haven’t said goodbye to Yoongi. Even though he’s been a little standoffish lately, you thought it would be nice to at least say goodbye to him.
It takes you a little while, but you walked all the way from your dorm to their living space upstairs. At times like this, you wish you could initiate the whole mental bond where you can talk to one another. But now that you think about it, the bond might have weakened because of the lack of contact you two have had. That makes sense. You look around, the living room and his room and he’s nowhere to be found.
“Yoongi?” You call for him, assuming he might be napping or something.
“Y/n, come on! We’re leaving. What are you doing up here?”
“I was trying to say bye to Yoongi-” Namjoon places his hand on your back to lead you to the stairs.
“You’ll see him when we get back, we gotta go.”
All you wanted to do was say goodbye and you can’t help but you feel like he’s trying to hide from you.
When you finally get downstairs, the botany professor tells everyone to get on the bus. You stay close to Namjoon and follow him onto the bus, he’s kind of like a comforting presence in a bus of students you don’t know. Namjoon gestures for you to take a seat and you grudgingly oblige. Students are already chattering and giggling, excited about the trip. But you on the other hand, just want to go wherever Jin is because you feel socially awkward.
“Ok, do we have a headcount?” He looks at the professor in the front seat.
“Yes, we’re all here.”
“Great, I’ll be riding with Dr. Kim but we’ll meet you at the airport.” Namjoon turns to you with a tender grin. Y/n, you need to socialize with your peers.
Talk to someone, make some friends.
And that’s all he says to you before leaving you on the bus with no one you know except for Taehyung, and he’s chatting with his friends. You hug your sweater to your chest and sigh—this isn’t what you thought it’d be.
“Hi,” You hear a voice coming from above you and you peek up, “I’ve never seen you in a botany class before, what’s your name? I’m Xiaojun.”
“Hi, I’m Y/n.” You reach your hand out and he shakes it before moving to go sit with you. “Oh, you didn’t have to leave your friends-”
“No, it’s okay, I’ll spend all my time with them on the trip. You look a little,” he hesitates when you furrow your brow a bit, “shy?” He smiles, and his little fangs peek out. He’s a vampire.
“I’m not shy I just, I’m a little reserved when I don’t know a lot of people.”
“Well, let’s get to know each other, then you’ll know someone. I’m actually from the island. I don’t know if you know but my island is famous for our medicinal herbs, plants, and organic and humane animal blood sourcing. We’re Pure Bloods and we do a lot of agricultural work. My family sent me to this school to get exposure to other places and people, broaden my horizons I guess.”
“Do you like it at Jin—” You catch yourself, you can’t just call him by his first name with everybody, “I’m sorry, Dr. Kim’s school?”
“I love it. There’s a reason my family sent me here and not to some other university, the education is top-notch, they know I’ll be healthy with whatever blood I’m given here. Plus, the university has prided itself on the human-vampire integration efforts.”
“Yeah, it is a great school. Not gonna lie, I do miss my family and friends back at home sometimes. But I have to remember that the education I’m getting now is for my future. When I go see my family, they’ll be so proud to see that I’m making something of myself.”
“I feel the same way.” He slouches back in to chair. “Um, forgive me for asking but how come I can’t smell your blood at all?”
“Oh, I was on a donor break so the nurse gave me scent-suppressants.” You push back a piece of hair, your face heating up when he leans in just slightly to confirm for himself.
“Wow, they must have given you a lot.” He pauses to laugh, “You have no scent whatsoever.”
“Yeah, they had to give me a little extra,” You glance out the window to remember your excuse, “I have somewhat of an immunity to them.”
3 times the regular dosage to be precise.
“Oh, that makes sense.”
The rest of the ride, you realized how kind and easy-going a majority of the students were. Xiaojun introduced you to Melanie and Caterina, and eventually, you all began talking.
This isn’t so bad.
There you went, overthinking things and making yourself crazy over nothing. These people are sweet and you’re lucky that Jin let you switch to this program so last-minute. He treats you so well. Sometimes it feels like you’re undeserving of the special attention. Then you remember, you’re in all of this in exchange for your blood. Your blood is your free pass and it seems precarious—but a lot of things feel that way since you’ve been here. Other students seem to not notice but you’re pretty positive there are some students who suspect you. Nonetheless, you’re confident that you can hold your own and stand firm in the fact that you’re like any other student.
Soon enough, the bus pulls up at the airport and all of the students hurried out of the bus. You debated following Xiaojun, but when you saw Taehyung coming toward you, you figured you’d be sitting with him.
“Everyone, follow me so we can get on the plane, it’s in gate G. The luggage is already taken care of so don’t worry about grabbing anything.” The professor signals to all of the students and you find yourself zoning out a little bit because you’re looking for Namjoon or Jin.
“Y/n,” Taehyung walks up to you and looks at you funny, you notice he dropped the pet name, “looking for Jin hyung and Namjoon hyung?” You nod. “They’re over there,” He points to the two of them and their small entourage, “but you can’t go with them, you have to stay here with the other students.”
Confusion flashes in your eyes, “But why-”
“Don’t worry, I’ll be here.” He smiles, placing a comforting hand on your shoulder.
“I’m not worried, I just- I was just wondering where they were.” You shrug, thoroughly disappointed that you were being kicked to the curb by those two. You guess that’s a little entitled that you think you’re supposed to be with them 24/7, but it’s what you’re used to. Taehyung stays by your side as the class is led to board the plane after FSA and a few bathroom trips. When you walk onto the plane, you’re greeted with a pretty flight attendant.
“Good evening, miss.” She bows and you return it with a kind smile.
You’re led to a comfortable chair with a table in between the chair directly in front of you. To your delight, Namjoon comes to sit directly in front of you with a thick book in his hands.
“So, how did it go?” He inquires.
“It was good, I met Xiaojun and his friends, Melanie and Caterina, they were nice.” You cross your arms and sigh. “I socialized, happy?”
“Very.” He smirks.
“Where’s Jin?” You look around, noticing that he had disappeared.
“He’s in the personal suite, he’s got a lot of business calls to take care of.” Namjoon sticks in his earphones in his ears and continues to read his book. You lean against the window and gaze out of the window, soon enough, your eyes slip shut and you drift to sleep.
Tumblr media
When you wake up, everyone is unbuckling their seatbelts and taking their carry-ons and such. You blink, rubbing your eyes and sleepily unbuckling your seatbelt. You follow every one of off the plane and you inhale deeply when you walk out into the fresh air. A few vans pull up and you’re directed to get in the one with Xiaojun and a few other people. Everyone buckles up and the driver pulls out. Some of the students were talking about how beautiful the resort was, and how it's covered in thriving wildlife and surrounded by beaches.
Even though it’s dark out, you can still appreciate the beauty of the island. Judging by the tiny airport, it's not a highly populated place.
You're pretty quiet on the ride to the resort but your mind wanders. Yoongi. He comes to your mind. And you know you shouldn't feel this way, but you're a little upset at him. He tends to be a little distant when he wants to be. Sometimes it makes you feel a little weird. Due to the bond, it's hard for you not to feel like he should at least validate you in some way.
“Y/n,” Xiaojun calls your name from the seat next to you, “tonight they’re serving dinner out on the beach where they always serve it on the first night for the retreat. Some of my friends and family members will be there, I’ll introduce you to some of them.”
“That sounds nice,” You grin, finding it endearing that he’s taken such a liking to you. Then again, some of these people tend to like you so much because of your blood. What Jin regards as a gift, you see as a burden sometimes. You’ve come to terms with the fact that you’re just seen as a fulfilling meal to some of them. But you know Jin and the others see as more than that—Yoongi definitely has to see you as something more than that.
Eventually, you all made it to the resort and there was a group of women who lead you to your individual rooms. As they called everyone's names to take them to there rooms, you were the only one left in the foyer, awkwardly holding your hands.
“Hi, honey, this unit is actually taken,” A woman with beautiful long brown hair and bright eyes comes up to you, “what’s your name?”
“Y/n.”
“Oh! You’re the one Dr. Kim wanted in the other unit, that’s where your belongings are,” She smiles, putting her hand on your back to lead you out of the door, “you must be special.”
“No, I wouldn’t say that,” You let out a nervous laugh. She walks across the tropical plant-adorned walkway connecting the beach-houses and leads you to the one not too far from the other. She guides you up the stairs and into the house, when she opens the door, you immediately notice that it looks a bit personalized. Like personal touches were put on it, probably by Jin.
“Okay, your room is upstairs, I’ll show you,” She walks up the stairs and points to the room with the sunset-colored flour on the door. When she opens it for you, you instantly fall in love. The room is so charming and tropical, there’s a balcony and you see your belongings in there. “What do you think?”
You walk further into the room. “It’s beautiful, I love it. Thank you,” You sit your purse on the chair near the balcony and take a moment to take in your view of the beach. It’s so tranquil.
“I’m glad you find it to your liking. My name is Layla, if you need anything, don’t hesitate to ask, okay? Also, dinner will be served outside in about fifteen minutes. Your muumuu is in the restroom, you can slip that on for dinner, it’s very comfortable.”
“Alright, thank you,” She grins before closing the door to leave you to wind down for a minute.
You walk into the large bathroom to see a multi-colored floral two-piece wrap hanging on the closet. You get undressed and put the dress on, it’s soft and sits right above your knees. You’re hoping you could buy more of these because you actually really like it.
When you wash your face and freshen up a bit, you walk out of the room and you hear Namjoon.
“Layla, could you have brought here after the dinner? Preferably some of your freshly picked floral teas, surprise me.” He’s standing in the foyer on his phone and he changed as well. He’s wearing the same print but with white paints and a floral shirt, and a little necklace. When you walk downstairs, he immediately notices you and the biggest smile comes to his face.
“Aw, don’t you look precious.” He giggles, watching you walk down with the same slides that were provided for everyone in the house.
You can’t help but roll your eyes and laugh. “Thanks, you look nice too.”
“I love the clothes they give us here, they’re so comfortable.”
“Yeah, um, how come Jin has me in here with you guys? I thought I’d be with that other students.”
“I thought so too, I’m not sure why he changed it. Anyway, let’s head over to the eat, I’m sure they’re about to start bringing dishes out.”
The two of you walk out together and Namjoon leads the way of course because he knows where it is. When you start walking into the sand you can see the light lit by fire and a huge mat of some sort where a long table is. You can see other students coming from their rooms and taking seats wherever. And you get excited as soon as you see Jin, sitting next to Taehyung and someone you’d never met.
“There’s no need to be nervous, it’s just dinner.” Namjoon teases, taking his rightful seat next to Taehyung and you sit next to him.
“I know that it’s the new people, not the meal,” You mumble.
“Y/n,” You hear a small call of your name and look to where it’s coming from, it’s Xiaojun, “this is my cousin, Kun.” The guy next to him waves.
“Hi,
“Hi, nice to meet you.” He smiles and you feel a warmness from him. “Xiaojun says you’re new to the program?”
“Yeah, I am.”
“Well, I hope you enjoy your first experience here. Our people have been supplying medicinal herbs, plants, basically anything you can grow right here on this island. Vampires all over the world buy from us and humans as well.”
“Really?”
“Yep, and we discover new plants and herbs on our sister islands every year or so.”
He goes on and on but you actually get really drawn into what he has to say about the contributions the island makes. It draws the attention Jin and you don’t even notice. He’s talking to some other people and Namjoon so he’s not going to talk to you now, but he wants to know how you’re doing. By the time the conversation comes to an end, dinner is over. The food was delicious and you’re already ready for breakfast.
“It was nice talking to you Kun,” You stand and give him a small bow, “have a good night.”
“You too, Y/n.”
You walk back to the house, slides in your hand so you can feel the sand under your feet. When you get up the stairs, you enter the house and go straight to the shower. Overall, this day has been pretty successful. You met people, learned some things, and even ventured out of your comfort zone.
Before you head to the shower, you pull your toiletries and pajamas out of your suitcase. The shower is tiled with smoothe gray pabbles that feel heavenly under your feet and the showerhead is like a gentle rain. You get out of the shower after a good fifteen minutes and do your routine. The pajamas that Jin gave you are the ones you decided to bring and they’re your favorite. They’re super soft, long-sleeved, and surprisingly breathable.
After you jump into the king-size bed and relish in the comfy bed sheets, you decide to go talk to Jin. You leave your room and go search for him, and it doesn’t take you long to find him and Namjoon with tea in the living room upstairs.
You walk into the room and he beams when he sees you. “Y/n, I was just about to come to see you. Please, come sit,” He gestures to the couch next to Namjoon whos looking very relaxed.
“So, how are you liking everything? I’m sorry I haven’t been able to be with you, I’ve had a lot of business to take care of.”
“It’s okay, it’s been nice actually. I met a few people and I learned some things about the island.” You sit cross-legged, expression bright since you get to talk to him finally.
“I’m glad, I was telling Namjoon that I thought this program would be great for you.” He takes a sip of tea. “Also, I wanted to let you know that if I’ve ever made it seem like your blood is more important to me than your job as a student, I apologize. I don’t ever want you to feel like I’m neglecting your studies for your blood. I know sometimes I let your circumstances dictate a lot but I don’t ever mean to isolate you from your peers, you just have to understand that I’ve never had a student like you.”
“I mean, I’m a student at the university in exchange for my blood. But I will admit that sometimes it’s hard because some students notice when I’m getting special treatment and things like that...I don’t want anyone to think that I’m not meeting my academic requirements if that makes sense.”
“I assure you, ” Namjoon looks at you, a slight smile that shows his dimples, “I will make sure you meet your academic requirements, that’s not a problem, kitten.” Jin nods in agreement.
“I also want to mention Director Rain, what did you think? Do you feel okay with him being around?”
Rain.
His name gives you chills.
“He- He seems kind of intimidating, I felt a little nervous around him...Remember when bit me? He had me do things that I’d never had to do before, it was weird.” You admit. “Why do you ask?”
“Well, he wants to spend some more time with you, just to get to know you and learn about your blood. He’s genuine. He’s not one of those higher-ups that want to steal donors and treat them like nothing but a means of nutrients. He’s very knowledgeable and he’s going to be monitoring Jungkook for a while until his awakening is under control, so he’ll be around more often.”
You furrow your brows. “Jungkook’s awakening? What is that?”
“He’s awakening. In his bloodline, its called The Eyes of Eclipsia.”
This is all new to you. “Who’s Eclipsia?”
“She was their great-great-grandmother and she was very powerful. She was born with no vampire traits but her deep violet eyes that glow saffron red were the mark of her strength. Rain has it, Jungkook’s father has it, and now, so does Jungkook. I really don’t know how to help Jungkook through this so he’s going to assist me with him.”
“Do I have to spend time with him?...” You say that hesitantly.
“You don’t have to, of course, I’m not forcing you, but it would be nice if you just gave him a little of your time. Just think about it, okay? No pressure. I’m gonna head to bed, and I think you should do the same, we’ve had a long day.”
“Wait,” You catch him before walking out, “I was wondering, why am I not with the other students?”
“The suppressants in your systems could where off and I don’t want any of the vampire students to get any ideas. I think it’s safest that you stay where we are, I hope you don’t mind.”
You shake your head, “No, I was just wondering.”
He gets up and walks over to you. He rubs your head lovingly, leaning down to look you in the eye. “I’m gonna balance out your energy, okay?” You nod. He touches your forehead for a few seconds and you can feel your body relax slowly. Namjoon suddenly places his hand on your shoulder and your eyes open to looking over at him.
“Her energy has been off all day,” Namjoon reveals, “I think it’s because she was nervous and all the suppressants we gave her don’t go without side effects.”
“Well,” Jin pulls away, “that should help. Good night.” Jin leaves you two and you were about to get up to go to bed as well but Namjoon grabs your wrist lightly.
“Beleive it or not, I’m at the end my feeding cycle but I’m having bad cravings...Do you feel up to giving blood? If not I can get blood from someone else but your blood is much preferred.”
“No, that’s fine, just please don’t make a mess, I just showered.” You grant him his request and he stands up, hands eagerly grasping your shoulders.
”When have you ever known me to be messy?” He giggles, leaning down to your neck and biting down you with a sharp inhale. You stiffen. It’s been a week or so since you’ve last been fed on and it hurt. “It hurts...”
I’m sorry, just give me a minute, it’ll feel better in a second, he speaks into your thoughts. He doesn’t move but you can feel him gulping down considerable amounts of blood. It starts to burn, your heart is drumming and you feel your head getting loopy.
Slowly, his hands leave your shoulders and slide down to hold your hands. He simultaneously opens his mouth and latches on a little tighter, sealing your skin to his mouth completely. You squirm in discomfort, trying to get away from the sting on impulse.
After a few seconds of him not letting you move, a fuzzy feeling starts to set in. He’s releasing his venom into your bloodstream and you sigh in relief. It doesn’t take long for your head to be in the clouds.
“That’s better...” You breathe, letting yourself go pliant.
Your legs suddenly feel like jelly and your legs give way. It didn’t bother him though. He made sure to slide down with you, kneeling right in front of you. Finally having your blood in his system makes him feel a thousand times better. Recently, he’s been trying to get through the feeding cycles with as much self-control as possible. But sometimes, it’s hard for him to keep himself from craving the blood.
“Namjoon,” You know he has the ability to basically numb his pray out, but you were already sleepy and you’re about to pass out, “I know you-...I know you’re doing that thing to take away the pain, but I feel like I’m gonna pass out.”
He acknowledges you with a hum, but instead of stopping, he just drinks slower. Instead of complaining, you take the bratty liberty to push all of your weight back. He loses his bearings for a second, but he doesn’t let your tactic stop him. He just gets on top of you and continues, holding your hands to the ground and finishing the last few gulps of blood.
“Ah,” He pulls away with a pop, “you’re so dramatic.” He sits back on his heels, smiling down at your flat expression. “Can you walk?”
“No, my legs are numb. You should know, you made them numb.” You sulk, trying to move your head up but even that felt numb.
“I was trying to make it comfortable for you, its not my fault that you succumb to it so willingly.”
“Whatever...” You sigh, eyes slipping shut.
He scoops you up in his arms and walks you to your bedroom. He pushes the door open with his foot and easily lays you in bed, covering you with a blanket. Namjoon pats your head with a fond smile and leaves.
Jungkook was drinking his second portion of blood and all of a sudden, he heard the most disturbing statement—goodnight, kitten.
He nearly choked.
“The hell?”
Yoongi and Hoseok glance at him from their spots on the couch, brows furrowed when the young vampire sits up.
“Uhm, what’s the matter?” Hoseok looks up from his phone, judgment engraved in his features.
Jungkook looks puzzled. “Did you hear that?”
“Hear what?”
“You mean you didn’t just hear that?” He looks at both of them. “Neither of you heard that?”
“Jungkook, heard what? What are you talking about?”
“I heard, ‘goodnight, kitten,” like, very clearly.”
Yoongi looks at him. “Goodnight, kitten? That’s what you heard?” Jungkook nods surprised that Yoongi even acknowledges him. “The only person who I’ve ever heard say something even close to that, is Namjoon. That’s what he calls Y/n. Why would you be hearing that?”
“Yeah, are you sure you aren’t imagining things?”
Jungkook scowls, disgusted that they would even consider that he would think that. “Why would I even want to imagine someone saying that to me??
“I don’t know, we all have intrusive thoughts that might sound weird to others.” Hoseok snickers, going back to his phone.
“I don’t know why I would be hearing that,” Jungkook mutters, giving up on trying to find an explanation. He goes back to watching his movie but Yoongi looks away from his book in thought.
There are times where he’d connect with your consciousness and it was rare, but sometimes, he could hear when others spoke to you. Is Jungkook connecting with you? But how could that be? You and Jungkook haven’t bonded and you’re hundreds of miles away. Assuming Namjoon is on the trip with you, then it would make perfect sense for Namjoon to be the voice he heard.
_
Meanwhile, on the other side of the island.
“Director, I prepared your flower-petal-soak in the sauna,” Yona, one of his personal maids peeks into his quarters, she’s a short little girl with short brown hair, “do you need assistance?”
He’s adorned in a luxurious robe, it’s opened in the front and she tries not to look at his bare chest. His fingernails are long and pointy, he let them grow out recently. Traditionally, power-bearing Jeons are known for their luscious locks and long manicured nails. His long black hair drapes down his back, some strands fall on his face and it makes her swallow—he’s stunning.
“I can manage, thank you, Yona.” She bows, leaving the director to do what he needed to do. He left his room and went down the stone pathway to the natural sauna.
He undresses and sits his robe on a marble stool near the water. The water is filled with freshly picked flowers and he steps into the steamy oasis. “Ugh...” He sighs, sinking down into the water and leaning back on the ledge, inhaling the floral fragrance.
“Master Rain, may I come in?”
“You may, Lilian.” He looks up at her.
“I have a few updates for you, do you want me to read it to you here? or in your bedroom?”
“Here is fine.” He gestures for her to have a seat.
“Okay, I’ll read the updates of the board, then the extra things.”
Lilian reads off of the papers, reciting the same old updates as always, but she says something that catches his attention.
“Wait, what was that?”
“Dr. Kim is on the other side of the island on a botany trip. You also have an appointment with him late this week for your nephew.”
“He’s here? Hm,” He sighs, tapping his nails thoughtfully, “can you squeeze a meeting in with him tomorrow, at any time.”
“Sure sir,” She writes some things down and nods, “may I ask why?”
“I need to talk to him about my nephew and a few other things.” She nods, satisfied with his answer.
And you would be other things.

Christmas Special: Day 3
-> Pairing: Namjoon x Reader -> Roommate!AU // Best Friend!AU // Fluff // Non-Existent Angst ->Word Count: 2.3k ->Summary: Bedding, Blizzards, and Namtiddies? Oh my! -> Warning(s): None???
A/N: I guess now is a good time to mention that all of these were randomly generated and randomly put into order. There was too much planning and effort that went into this for me to not mention any Namtiddies.
Tumblr media
When you agreed to stay home with your roommate and life-long best friend this Christmas and spend Christmas together, it was more of a bonding thing you were going for. You still expected to wrap yourself up in your blankets, sit by your window with a cup of hot chocolate in your hands, and watch the city below you get covered in snow. You agreed to binge watch every crummy Christmas movie you could find and make shitty cookies from the package together in your very tiny kitchen. You agreed to wake up early - but not too early - on Christmas morning to open the presents family and friends had been sending to your apartment together.
What you did not agree to was your best friend dumping his stupid science project all over your bed and forcing you to clean your only bedding, quite possibly staining it and the clothes you were wearing. Why was he in your room? Well, he had a question. Why did he have his nasty science project in his hands? Well, that’s a great question he hasn’t answered yet. Why did he dump it on your bed?
He got a cold chill and lost his grip on it.
Were you angry? Absolutely. You weren’t just mad. You were big mad. Of all the clumsy things this man has done, this had to take the cake. And that’s saying something considering he literally wore Jin’s birthday cake when you celebrated the other week. Yeah, he was never bringing the cake out ever again. Nor would he be allowed in a three legged race again either, but that’s for another time.
The only thing you could focus on right now, was the loss of you favorite and only bedding. The sounds of your mother nagging you about taking more than one set of bedding with you was clouding you thoughts, “You should take it with you. Don’t come crying back to me when you realize that one set of bedding won’t work! Your sister regretted it and so will you.”
Oh, how right she was. And you should’ve known better with a roommate like Namjoon. He was nicknamed the god of destruction back in middle school when he tripped over a chair and broke an entire desk. Of course at the time it was the funniest thing in the world, but being on the other side of the destruction felt like karma for all the times you watched him demolish something and enjoyed it.
You were so mad that Namjoon didn’t just see it. He was feeling it. He felt it the minute his liquidated project landed on top of your plush sheets. The look you gave him as you sat up covered in green and purple slime - at least you hoped it was just slime - as well as the silence that followed you, screamed how much trouble he was in. Now, you’re not an angry person, and you very rarely hold grudges, but you had your moods just like any other person and this definitely pushed your buttons to the limit. It pushed you enough to go through with the one punishment you always promise to give him.
The silent treatment.
Another thing about you: You’re not exactly the shy type. Not with him anyways. You act like he’s barely even there sometimes, allowing yourself to be embarrassing or to sit right next to him on the couch and cling onto him. You were just a tiny koala that demanded food for compensation and he gave it to you every time you asked, and he’s felt your rage plenty of times. But you never went through with your promise of not speaking to him. Until now that is. But Namjoon is a determined guy. He won’t back down from a fight, especially not with you. He’d get you to talk one way or another.
Sitting on the couch with his laptop resting on his lap, glasses slightly low on his nose from working on his paper and looking up to you, he can’t help but be amused. You were trying to make a show of your anger with him, and he could tell instantly. You would walk by him every 5 minutes, make noise in the kitchen, sigh heavily as you say by the window with no comfy blanket. You deserved an Oscar for most dramatic at this point, staring out at the blizzard raging outside with your arms and legs crossed like a child.
“They say the storm is only going to get worse. We could be seeing power outages across town.” Namjoon says, typing away at his essay. You don’t move, continuing your little game of ignoring his entire existence. He shakes his head, “We should watch The Polar Express now in case ours goes out later tonight.”
You don't exactly respond to him, but The Polar Express is your favorite movie, and it was almost impossible for you to ignore his offer to watch it. You hesitate at first, but you do eventually slide off the windowsill of your apartment window and shuffle across the wood floors in your fluffy green socks to the shelf that holds all of your movies and games. Namjoon has to do everything he can to not laugh at you, pretending to be mad even though he can see you bouncing in excitement. If he was right, then you’d be yourself again in no time.
Unfortunately, Namjoon wasn’t aware of how determined you actually were. As soon as you put the movie in, you were sitting on the opposite side of the couch from him with your knees pulled into your chest, acting like his existence meant nothing to you. It caught him off guard, but it didn't totally convince him. You’ve always turned into a child the minute this movie turned on, and there was no way you’d be able to hold out through the whole film. He’d play your game, but he wouldn't lose. You - on the other hand - were having a very hard time. You were still mad with Namjoon, you didn't want to forgive him yet. Everything this week had gone wrong for you, and his accident was just the icing on the cake. But at the same time, you know it was an accident, and he apologized for the first 30 minutes until he realized you really weren't going to say anything. A part of you felt bad knowing deep down that he didn’t deserve this, but a part of you just needed to let it out.
Or keep it in, in this case.
You both sit quietly on the couch watching the movie, Namjoon tapping away on his keyboard in between dialogue. He’d add in his own thoughts about the movie in between to get you to talk, sometimes asking about your family or even trying to talk about the weather outside. But just like you, it only seemed to rage on.
“C’mon, (Y/n)! I know you’re not talking, but you can’t keep quiet when you know this song slaps! Could you imagine if there was a rap?!” He faces you on the couch and starts bouncing on the couch to a new rhythm, “Hot!Hot! Hey! Break it down now. I know the chocolate is hot, but you’ll like it a lot! Never sip, never drip, never set it down like-“ As much fun as he seemed to be having in his own little world, you were not as amused as he was. He could tell by the look on your face that he only had one option in this situation, “Yeah, I didn’t think it was that great either.”
He let the movie continue on without interruption for a while longer, letting you enjoy the movie playing. It was nice and comforting to enjoy it, at least until you hear a loud popping noise followed by the room going almost completely dark besides Namjoon’s laptop. His prediction of the power going out came a lot sooner than you both expected.
“Well, it looks like the power finally went out.” He says, trying to lighten the mood. Your lack of response wasn’t exactly what he was hoping for though. He sets his laptop aside on the couch and stands up, “We should probably check how much water and food we have so we can decide where we may need to go tomorrow, if at all.”
You follow behind Namjoon quietly, not ready to speak but not yet ready to be alone. Your apartment is an older one, so the darkness wasn’t as inviting as it would be in other houses - but darkness isn’t all that inviting anyways so-
“Did your bedding finish drying?” Your eyes go wide, the realization hitting you. You just put your bedding into the dryer for the first time run before the movie, and it always took at least three for it to actually be nice and fluffy for bedtime. But knowing how well your dryer worked, there was no way it wouldn’t be a sopping mess when you pulled it out.
“Damnit...” You sigh.
“Ah, so you’re back to talking to me now?” He asks, his knowing smirk being hidden away in the darkness.
“Yeah, well I can’t glare at the darkness and get the same reaction, now can I?” You scoff. He was right in the end just like always, only now it was more unpleasant with the cold weather seeping into your older apartment, “It’s already cold in here, Joonie.”
“Hey, don’t worry. Go put on some extra layers and I’ll figure everything else out.” No matter what situation, Namjoon always knew how to keep you calm and feel a little better - even if you were ignoring him harder than the plague. He remained level-headed even if you were at your worst.
A few minutes later, after much shuffling around with only your phone light, you managed to pull on some sweatpants and a sweater. Not the best options, but they were the best you could do at the moment with your really warm clothes being tucked in the dryer with your sopping wet blankets. You meet Namjoon back in the living room only to find him sitting on the couch with his laptop wearing a hoodie instead of his NASA shirt from earlier.
You approach him from behind the couch and rest your chin on top of his head, taking a peak at the screen with his English essay on it, “Did you figure something out?”
“Yeah, you can sleep on my bed for the night and I’ll just wing it on the couch tonight.” He says, continuing to type away like that wasn’t what he’d been doing all night anyways. You weren’t as unbothered as he was though. “Namjoon I-” “Don’t start with me, (Y/n). It’s my fault that you don’t have any bedding, so I get to suffer the consequences.” His typing slowly fills the room again as you stand behind him in silence. You were annoyed with him, but making him sleep on the couch with no blankets when it was only getting colder? Not happening.
You hesitantly wrap your arms over his shoulders, tucking your head into his neck, “But I don’t want you to suffer. What if I wake up to a Namjoon-Pop? I can’t count on anyone buying you in this weather.”
“Wow, you’re really heartbroken over this.” He says with his voice laced in sarcasm.
“Can we just share the bed?” You ask. You lift your head and press the side of your face into the side his, rubbing very softly against it like a cat, “It’s already below freezing outside right now, and it’s only supposed to get colder. I’d feel better if I knew you weren’t freezing...and if I could steal your body heat.”
He shoves you away, “You, Vixen. You just want me for my body.”
“Body heat, there’s a difference.” You say.
“So, you don’t want my cuddles?” He asks, turning his head ever so slightly to look at you. Thinking about it, he wasn’t that far off. His cuddles were the best, and you really can’t help but to agree with him, “Okay, so maybe I do want your body. Who could resist those Namtiddies?”
“Forget it, you can sleep on the couch.” He returns to his laptop, not fond of the name you’d given to his pectorals after he started showing results from hitting the gym.
Eventually - after convincing him you’re not going to speak of the ‘Namtiddies’ for the rest of the night - you both end up lying in his bed, facing his desk chair where he’d placed his laptop with The Polar Express running. His chest is pressed into your back, his warm covers that smell like his Old Spice: Original body products tucked all the way up under your chin. His arms wrap around your waist to keep you as close to him as possible, and you can feel his breath on the back of your neck. It’s intimate, but it’s nothing that’s really new for either one of you. Cuddling like this really wasn’t new, and it actually felt natural for you to be wrapped in his arms. You felt safe with him, and it just made you feel even worse for treating him the way you had today.
“Hey, Joonie?” You ask quietly, unsure if he had fallen asleep yet. He grunts in response with a slight tug to pull you closer, a small ‘hm?’ leaving him. You shrink back into his warmth and grab onto his hand laying in front of your face to play with his fingers out of nervousness, “I’m really sorry for acting like a kid earlier and ignoring you. Even though I was really angry and I’m still not really over it, you didn’t deserve that.”
“(Y/n), you and I both know that you weren’t and still aren’t mad at me.” He mumbles, grasping onto your hand to keep it still and nuzzling his face into your neck to get more comfortable.
“Okay, but that wasn’t my point.”
He lets out a sigh and pulls at your waist to get you to turn, pulling you into his chest as soon as you turn over enough. He fixes the blanket covering the both of you and holds you against him in hopes to get you to settle into sleep instead of your thoughts. “You forgive me. I forgive you. Can you just listen to The Polar Express so we can go to sleep before it gets colder?”
And that’s how you fall asleep, your head resting on Namjoon’s chest wrapped up in blankets and his comforting scent. No snow to look at, no hot chocolate in your hands, but at least you have his heartbeat drumming next to your ear to keep you at peace.

Halloween Special
pairing: Jin x Reader
genre: fluff, angst (if you squint)
warnings: mentions of death, a bit of profanity
a/n: well I’m back with another story! This is the first part of a Halloween Special I have prepared for you guys, I hope you all like it 😬. Idek why I named this a Halloween special if it isn’t even scary at all 😅 this might sound familiar to you if you’ve watched the KDrama “Goblin”, I got some ideas from there. I know I still have some requests to do, so please don’t think I’ve forgotten about them! It’s just I’m working on them whenever I get a break from work and school. Well anywayyyysss, I’ll let you guys go now. See you on the next one!
Tumblr media
How long has it been since you’ve been doing this? A hundred? Two hundred years? To be quite honest, you had stopped counting.
You pulled out a card out of your pocket, a name with red letters imprinted on it. “Woo Shin.” You mumbled to yourself as you stood on the sidewalk, observing the man who had ignored the ‘do not cross’ sign. You tightened your black coat around you as you heard a loud bang. A car had just ran into the man. The driver quickly got down his vehicle and examined the person he had just collided into. People started to gather around. Some wanting to help, others just to be nosey. On the other side of the side walk you spotted a man that looked startled, not fully grasping what had happened. You slowly started to walk across the street, your heels clicking with each step you took.
“Woo Shin.” You called to the man. Mr. Shin turned to look at you, his eyes pleading. Hoping you’d make some sense of this situation. Hoping you’d know why he was thrown on the floor bleeding but yet he was also unharmed on the sidewalk. “24. Born on the 20th of October in 1993. Died at 11:38AM, October 17, 2018. Cause of death: car collision.” You took a step closer, your eyes locking with him in an attempt to calm him down. “That’s you, right?”

“Ten minutes till we start, guys. Let’s start wrapping up everything.” The manager called to the boys. The members of BTS allowed their stylists to apply the final touches to their outfits, make up and hair before they started to line up to go onto the stage. They were in the middle of their promotions and this was one of fan meets they had planned to hold. The ten minutes passed and the boys made their way onto the stage to greet their fans. They did their usual thing, everything went by smoothly. They signed albums, received presents, talked with the ARMY and so on. Before they knew it, it was all over. Another successful event, one would say.
“It’s always great to see ARMY!” Hobi exclaimed as they walked into the dressing room.
“I agree. They always show us so much love and support! I only wish to do the same for them.” Jin added.
The rest of the boys joined in. Talking about how much they loved ARMY and how they had lots of fun today. After five minutes or so, their manager came into the room and informed them that they had the rest of the day off. They immediately started thinking of ways they could spend the day. Yoongi wanted to stay in the apartment and work on some songs. Jimin, Taehyung and Jungkook decides to go to a nearby mall and buy clothes, saying they didn’t have anything to wear. As if their closets weren’t already topped to the max. Namjoon said he wanted to take his dog out for a walk and Hoseok decided to tag along and take his. Jin just wanted to go buy a cup of coffee at a nearby coffee shop he’d been eyeing for a while. Once changed out of the fan meet’s outfits, the boys said their goodbyes and headed to their destinations. Jin typed in the name of the coffee shop into the navigation system on his phone. Within a few seconds, the application told him he was only ten minutes away. “Alright, lets go.”
Tumblr media
You sat on the counter awaiting for the barista to call your name. Well... it wasn’t really your name. You didn’t have a name and it’s not like you could just say ‘Oh yeah, put it under the Grim Reaper’. Each time you had a different one. Alice, Laila, Katie and on and on. Today you were Y/N. You were trying to kill time, ha kill time, before the next card came in. Today was particularly slow. Not that you were complaining or wished for more people to pass away, it’s just that you preferred the days where you had lots to do that way you wouldn’t be having nonsense thoughts while starring at the living.
“Y/N! Ms. Y/N!”
At first you didn’t react, but the constant calling of the name reminded you that your drink was ready and it was you whom they were calling for. You quickly stood up and walked over to the counter, you apologized many times before grabbing the drink and turning around. You walked away while looking down, not paying much attention to your surroundings and just as you were about to reach the exit you bumped into someone, causing the hot liquid to spill on your white shirt. You felt the coffee burn the skin on your stomach, causing you to wince in pain. You’d think that being the Grim Reaper and all you’d be immune to this. Although you were immortal, you still had human emotions and needs. Part of your punishment you’d like to think.
“Oh my God, I’m so sorry!” You heard a male voice. He quickly reached over to a nearby table and grabbed a couple of napkins. He handed them to you still muttering apologies.
“Ah no, it’s okay!” You said as you took the napkins from him. Your cold fingers touching his warm ones, causing you to slightly flinch. “It’s my fault for not looking to where I was going. It’s a bad habit I have.”
When you looked up, you felt a strange pain in your chest. If you had a beating heart, you could’ve sworn that it would’ve stopped at that exact moment. Perhaps the right word to describe him would be breathtakingly beautiful, because that’s exactly what had happened. You had forgotten to breathe until his hand waving in front of your face brought you back to your senses.
“I’m sorry, d-did you say something?”
“I asked if you were okay. I’m sure that coffee must’ve been scalding hot. If it’s okay with you, we can go to the hospital so they can take a look at you.” He repeated, a kind smile adorning his face.
You quickly waved your hand in dismissal. “No! That’s not necessary, I promise I’m okay.” If only he knew that things like these didn’t face you the way it would face a living human. Yeah it hurt like hell, but after a couple of hours the wound would disappear. “It’s really nothing.”
“Then at least let me compensate you for the shirt I just ruined.” He kept on insisting. “It looks expensive.”
At that, you looked down at your now coffee-stained shirt. To be honest, it was kind of expensive but after centuries of collecting offerings, money wasn’t really something that you concerned yourself with. “Ah, it’s fine really.”
“Nonsense!” He quickly protested and walked over to the counter where a barista was standing and asked for something. When he came back, he grabbed a napkin and started jotting down something. “Here!” He said extending it over to you, urging you to take it. “Just give me a call or text with the shirt price and I’ll make sure to reimburse you for it. That’s my cellphone number, so don’t be shy and please contact me.”
You examined the paper. “Jin?” You asked, looking at the napkin and it’s contents like something out of this world.
“Yup, that’s me!” He replied with a beaming smile. Jin then looked at the watch on his wrist and you saw that his eyes widened in surprise. “I’m sorry, I kind of have to go but please make sure to contact me. Don’t leave me feeling guilty for too long!”
And with that he was gone. Jin had been like a spring breeze of air that was so refreshing and new. You haven’t really had many experiences with mortals before so maybe this was one of the reasons why you were feeling like this, but you also knew that it was something other than that. It would be that fateful meeting with Jin that it would set in motion something that neither you or him were prepared for. Something dangerous and beautiful altogether. Something that would change both of your lives.
“Wait,” You whispered to yourself, finally looking up from the napkin. “what is a cellphone?”
Jin sped through the streets, having forgotten that he had made plans with his family to go out for dinner. He hadn’t gotten too far from the cafe when a thought popped into his head. He hadn’t asked for your name and that bothered him in a way he couldn’t explain. He only hoped that you’d end up contacting him after all. Although from the way you were behaving it left him with little to no hope.
Tumblr media
When you got home later that day you researched on your laptop what a cellphone was. After your investigation, you couldn’t believe that you had a computer but not a cellphone but then again, you never really needed one. The laptop you did, for work purposes. The way it worked was still a mystery to you. The next day you went out to the store and bought one. There were so many options and so many things the store associate was telling you that they did, that you couldn’t help but feel overwhelmed by all of it. Regardless, you choose the phone which you thought was best and got it over with. As soon as you got back to your place, you saved Jin’s phone number after a thousand tries and many google searches.
A week passed but you still hadn’t contacted him. Every time you were about to click on the call or text message icon you quickly talked yourself out of it and threw your phone across the room. “You’re the Grim Reaper but you’re scared of making a single phone call? How pathetic.”
One day, you being the intellectual that you are, pressed the call button by accident during your daily debate whether to contact him or not. You started panicking the moment you saw and heard the dial tone. You paced back and forth with the phone in hand, your index finger making little dances above the ‘end call’ button. Before you could do anything, the line connected and you heard his voice.
“Hello?” He asked but you were too shocked to mutter out a response. “Hello? Is this a spam call?”
You let out a shaky breath before you finally spoke. “Hello? Um, this is...” ‘Quickly! Think of a name, think of something!’ Your mind quickly went back to that day and decided to go with the name you had given the barista when you two met. “Y/N. We bumped into each other the other day at a coffee shop.”
“Ohhh, hello!” You beard him say excitedly. “I was starting to worry that maybe you weren’t going to contact me after all. I told you not to make me feel guilty for too long. So your name was Y/N, huh? That’s a nice name.”
“I-I’m sorry, that wasn’t my intention.” You quickly apologized, you had no idea that he was actually joking with you. “I also called you to let you know that I don’t need any compensation. It really was an accident and to be completely honest, it was mostly my fault.” ‘Good save!’
“A-ah, no it’s okay.” You could tell that your response had taken him by surprise. “Are you sure, Y/N?”
“I’m sure, please don’t worry about it no more.” You insisted.
“Well alright, if you insist.” Jin finally surrendered. With that your conversation pretty much died and you didn’t know what to do in these type of situations. “So...” Jin decided to break the silence. “What type of work do you do?”
You quickly hanged up the phone. After a couple of seconds, you realized what you had done but panic had overcome you and this was just an immediate body response. You couldn’t tell Jin you were a Grim Reaper. A loud ding interrupted your thoughts. “Text message?” You read confused as you unlocked the phone as instructed by the screen.
Hey, Y/N. I think the call failed or something. I’ve been having bad reception these days, so I think it was that. Anyways, I was wondering if maybe you’d be up to for coffee? I want to make it up for the one that I spilled. I know, I know. You don’t want any type of compensation, but come on it’s coffee!
You wondered how to answer to his text. Damn this world and it’s technology! What happened to hand-written letters? However, you finally noticed that on top of your keyboard there were responses typed out like: “yes”, “okay”, “no”, to name a few. You opted for the “okay” and waited. Within a few minutes you received Jin’s reply, stating the place and the time of your meet up. You couldn’t help but smile at your phone.
Seokjin was very excited. He just couldn’t wait to see you once again. Weird, huh? Considering that he had only seen you once, and for a couple of minutes only. There just was something about you that seemed to pull him in, that left him wanting to know you better and be with you. However, he quickly jumped off his bed and headed for Namjoon’s room. Jin knocked on the door twice and waited.
“Come in!” The leader of BTS called.
Jin slowly opened the door but didn’t step into the room. He only wanted to confirm something. “Hey Namjoon, sorry for bothering you so late. I just wanted to ask if we had anything planned for tomorrow? You know, like meetings or recordings?”
Joon looked away from the book he was reading and reached for his phone. After a couple of minutes, he shook his head and turned to face the raven haired male by his door. “In the morning we have practice. We’re learning a new choreography but other than that it seems like the rest of the evening is free.”
Jin let out a sigh of relief. Before Namjoon could say anything Jin started closing the door. “Thank you! I’ll let you go now, goodnight!”
RM let out a chuckle. He wanted to ask Jin about his plans for tomorrow, although he could take a good guess at what they were.
Tumblr media
You looked at your wrist watch and smiled to see that you were doing good with time. Today you weren’t wearing you usual black attire, instead you were wearing a pair of jeans with some black boots, a gray sweater and a pink coat. Pink was Jin’s favorite color, you had come to learn this during one of your past meet ups. At first, you had developed this habit of standing up and running away every time he asked you something personal, something a mortal would do. Like your last name or the type of job you’d do. As soon as he would sprung a question like that, you’d excuse yourself and say you had something to do, but end up calling him the following day to meet and give an answer to his question. It wasn’t until you were about to leave once again, that Seokjin grabbed your hand and told you that it was okay. That you didn’t have to share anything personal if you didn’t wanted to and that he’d wait until you were ready, but... there wasn’t really anything you could say. From there, you guys took off. You started wearing more lively clothes and putting lipstick instead of lip balm. Jin told you that he was an idol and that his group was named BTS. He was the oldest of the seven members and he likes to cook. He owns two sugar gliders named Odeng and Eomuk, with whom he plays with each time he gets. You liked the way his hair would be all over the place because he was running late to meet with you, but you didn’t mind because after a google research and many YouTube videos, you knew how demanding his job was. Or the way his lips pout slowly while he’s talking, or the way he always made you laugh with his great jokes. Oh boy! You hadn’t laughed so much in your four hundred years of being a Grim Reaper. You knew this wasn’t right, that there was no chance that the two of you could ever be anything more than friends but it was already too late. These feeling had already made its way into your heart and planted themselves there, only for them to grow more and more each time you saw Jin. Things had already been set in motion and there was nowhere to go but forward.
“Man, I’m running late again!” Jin exclaimed as he turned the corner. One of his practices had ran longer than intended to, which delayed his plans with you. He wanted to take you out this time to a proper date. Dinner and maybe some ice cream, no more coffee and cookies but by the look of things, maybe it wasn’t going to happen after all. He knew he wasn’t the only one that felt this way, he wasn’t the only one with feelings. Seokjin wanted more than a simple friendship. How long has it been that you knew each other already? Five, six months? Was he being greedy? Jin quickly shook his head, dismissing those thoughts. Once the coffee shop started coming into view, he stopped and started walking. He tried to regain his composure, trying to make it seem like he wasn’t running just a few seconds ago. When he saw you, he felt like his heart skipped a beat. You weren’t wearing black as usual, not that he minded it, but seeing you in something different only made him fall harder. As he walked through the doors, you quickly noticed his presence and waved with a smile. That smile that Jin wanted to protect, to cherish. He quickly made his way over to you and took a seat on the chair across from you. “I’m sorry for running late, again. Things just came up.” Jin said while brushing the back of his head embarrassed.
You quickly shook your head. “Oh, no! Don’t worry about it, I totally understand. It’s part of your job after all.”
“Thank you for understanding.” He said gratefully. “But still, I wanted to do something nice for you today.”
“Jin, you do something nice for me every time we see each other.”
“And what is that?” He asked, trying to recall of he really had.
“You being with me.”
Jin’s head immediately snapped up. His eyes widened and his heart beat quickened. He couldn’t believe how lucky he had gotten for meeting you. “I’m so grateful I spilled that coffee on you back then. You know what, screw it! Let’s go do something!” He quickly stood up from the chair and urged you to follow. You couldn’t help but wonder what he meant by that, but dismissed it. You were just happy that Jin was back to his usual, happy self.
That night Jin and you did so, so many things. First, he took you to watch a movie, a horror one. You found it cute how Jin tried to act all tough saying things like ‘if you get scared tell me and we can take off’, but ended up being the one that got scared instead. Then he took you to eat fish cakes on a stand and not to be dramatic or anything, but these were easily the best fish cakes you had eaten in centuries. Then he took you to the arcade and karaoke! Wow, his voice was so beautiful. It was like listening to angels sing but better, much much better! Just when you thought you were going to call it a night, he stopped by a flower shop that was weirdly still open at late hours of the night.
“Here, for you.” Jin said once he was back, handing the flowers over to you.
“F-for me?” This took you completely by surprise. You had never been given flowers before. To you, flowers meant that someone had passed away. However, tonight Jin have them a whole new meaning. You extended your hands to grab the bouquet but before you could get your hands on it, someone swatted them to the floor. Causing for the beautiful flowers to fall apart.
“What the hell was that?” Jin asked. You could tell he was fuming by the tone of his voice. When the two of you turned to the direction where the hand had come from, you noticed a group of four men.
“Aw, sorry. Did we interrupt you little date?” One of the me asked in a mocking manner.
Jin only ignored them, grabbing you by the hand and started to walk in the opposite direction of them. Suddenly you felt someone grabbing you by your other wrist, pulling you away from Jin. You hand lost a hold of his. You knew these men meant trouble, you wanted to put them in their place but you couldn’t. Jin was here and if you used your powers he would never see you the same way again. He quickly turned around, fear eminent in his eyes.
“We were talking to you!” The same man exclaimed. With a swift movement he threw you into the arms of another man and started walking towards Jin. You tried to struggle in the most mortal way possible.
“Let her go!” Jin hissed trying to walk around the man but before he could get closer to you, a fist landed on his face. The strength of it was so much that it made Jin fall to the floor, his lip busted.
“Stop! Leave him alone!” You pleaded, but of course it was no use.
“What’s wrong?” The man who had his hold on you spoke. “You don’t want to have a good time with us?”
“I said, let her go!” Jin exclaimed, trying once again to make his way over to you. “What do you guys want? Money? I can give it to you, just don’t hurt her!”
Your chest started hurting. It hurt to see him like this when you knew that you could easily take these punks. Your eyes started swelling up in tears, hating the fact that you were being so selfish just to protect your identity. You should be protecting the man that you love. ‘Wait, do I love Jin?’
Before you had time to answer that question, three of the men launched at him. Landing punches on his face and body, leaving him no chance to retaliate. Blood started coming out of his wounds. Even though he was being beaten to a pulp, Jin wouldn’t stop mumbling the words ‘let her go, please.’ Your blood started boiling, you couldn’t let this go on anymore. You didn’t care if Jin found out who you were. As long as he was safe, that’s all that mattered. With your right hand, you reached over and started peeling the man’s hand off you. The man started panicking, for he had never seen a woman with such strength. Once you had finally gotten him off you, with one swift movement you sent him flying again a wall, knocking him unconscious. At the thudding sound, the three men turned to look in your direction. They couldn’t understand how one of their henchmen had landed all the way over to that wall. There was nobody else in sight and you looked too delicate to do such a thing. What a mistake. You charged at them. The men only started laughing but when you threw the first punch and sent one of them flying, their blood drained completely out of their face.
“What the fuck are you?” One of them said, taking out some brass knuckles and putting them on. The other took out a knife and got into position. They were waiting for you to make the first move, they were also scared. You slowly walked up to them and they slowly backed away, trying to keep the distance.
“What bad manners the two of you have.” You said as you kept on walking. The man with the brass knuckles took a swing at you but you only swatted then away, making them fly off his hands. You then took his hand and twisted it behind his back, causing him to scream in pain. You turned him around and threw him against the wall that you had thrown the first man to. The one holding the knife threw it away and threw himself on his knees, begging to be spared. You only rolled your eyes. “Go sit with your other buddies over there, don’t you dare move.”
“Y/N.” Jin whispered. He was witnessing everything but he wasn’t sure if he was seeing things due to the state he was in or if you really had taken down four thugs all by yourself. Before he could say anything more, Jin passed out. Meanwhile, you were dragging the last man over to where the other three were. Once they were all together and had regained some sort of consciousness again, you squatted down and started bending all sorts of metals on top of them. Trapping them in a little cage.
“Look me in the eye.” You started saying. “The four of you tried bothering that young man and ended up getting beaten the crap out of you.” You said as you pointed over to where Jin was laying. “You will not be found right away but you will not also die. In two days time, you’ll be found by the authorities and be taken to prison for your constant suppression on this neighborhood.” The four men stared blankly for a moment, taking in your instructions. This was one of your other powers as a Grim Reaper, you could erase memories and replace them with new ones. Although you only used it when you were doing some sort of work, there were time where it deemed necessary. Just like tonight. Once you were done with them, you quickly rushed over to Jin’s side. He was unconscious and there were bruises already forming on his face, so you quickly picked him up and teleported the both of you to your apartment. You walked over to your bedroom and placed him carefully on the bed. Without a second thought, you started hovering you hands on top of him injured body. His wounds slowly disappearing with each passing second. A tear started forming in the corner of your eye. You couldn’t stop blaming yourself for what had happened. If only you would’ve acted sooner, then Jin wouldn’t have had to go through that.
“I’m sorry, Jin. I’m sorry for everything.” You said in between sobs. “I hope you can forgive me.”
The sunlight flashing on his face, awoke Jin from his slumber. As he sat up, he noticed that he wasn’t in his bedroom. Suddenly, the events from last night came rushing to his mind. However, no pain or soreness overcame his body. He touched his face and there was no lumps and cuts on it. ‘Was it only just a dream?’ He was about to get up from the bed, when he noticed your face laying on the edge of the bed. You must’ve spent the night sleeping in that uncomfortable sitting position on the cold floor. He felt so guilty for taking your bed, so he stood and tried scooping you into his arms to lay you down on your bed. However, the moment you felt someone trying to lift you up, you immediately pushed them away. You had forgotten Jin had spent the night.
“Ow!” You heard him complain, just after he had hit one of your room walls. “So last night did happen! I was actually beaten up but why am I not injured?”
You took a deep breath as you took a seat on your bed and patted the spot next to you, so he could join you. Once he did, you started explaining to him everything that happened last night. Then everything about who you were and what you did. ‘Might as well just be honest once and for all.’ You thought. As you talked, you tried to examine Jin’s face, to try and see what he was feeling but his face was blank. You couldn’t read it at all and that scared you. After what seemed forever, you finally finished talking. A deep silence permeated the room.
“So how old are you?” Jin asked. Random ass question with all things considered.
“Wow, my mom is not going to approve of this relationship if we tell her your real age.” He started saying while scratching his head. “But if we tell her you’re my age then that’s completely fine! You don’t look a day older than twen—“
Your giggles interrupted him, that then turned into laughs. You couldn’t believe it. You had just told Jin that you were The Grim Reaper and he was worried whether or not his mom would approve? This boy surely was something else.
“What’s so funny?” He asked skeptically.
“It’s just... aren’t you scared of me? Or mad that I’ve lied to you?”
“Were the way you feeling while you were with me a lie?” He asked.
“No, they were not.” You said looking down.
“Then that’s all that matters.” Jin said wrapping his arms around you. “I do have to admit that I never thought something like this would happen to me, but I don’t regret meeting you at all. The attraction I felt towards you since the moment we met was something I could never understand, but perhaps it was destiny who had it all planned out. For us to meet, I mean. From there my feelings just started growing more and more, until I had completely fallen for you. I love you, Y/N. Do you love me?”
You looked up to meet his eyes. How could you not love him? He was the most amazing person in the whole world. So caring, so understanding, so perfect. “Of course I love yo—“
Jin interrupted you with a kiss, taking you completely by surprise. You felt his warm hand coup the side of your face, causing you to give in. To his kiss, to his touch. A few seconds passed and the two of you finally pulled away. “I’m sorry.” Jin said. “I couldn’t help myself.”
“A-ah no,” You replied while looking away. “its okay. I liked it.”
“Oh, really? Then you won’t mind if I do it again?” He teased and before you could say anything, his lips were again against yours.
“Now,” He said as he pulled away again. “isn’t there something you can do to make me immortal too? Forever sounds amazing, if I get to spend it with you.”
“Jin... I’m the Grim Reaper not a vampire.” You said with a chuckle. “But leave it to me, I’ll see what I can do.” Because even if you wouldn’t admit it right there and then, forever with him seemed just perfect.

Masterlist, Got7 Jinyoung Version [Will be linked when issue is fixed, please access blog for mstlist]
The orange LED numbers escalated slower than usual, or maybe it was my impatience kicking in. I’ve been working overtime ever single day this week. The coffee keeping me the cheery professional was beginning to wear off. When the chromatic doors opened, I slipped through before it had the chance to even open fully. I tried wiggling my bloated toes in my tight heels as I stood outside my boss’s door. As the head of my team, I’m expected of nothing less than perfect on this project. The project was projected to make millions for the company if I did it right. To say that my shoulders felt heavy was an understatement.
I knocked three times, as requested, then adjusted my blue pencil skirt and walked in. He carried his pen across a document with a heavy hand almost carving his signature into the page. He tossed his pen onto his desk folding his hands together to rest them by his lip. The real “I was working really hard before you walked in” go to move for him. He parted them momentarily to offer me a seat in front of his desk. I bowed slightly taking a seat in front of his desk. Papers were pilled everywhere, it was unorganized and chaotic in this small room. Maybe, for once, he was actually working?
He leaned forward with his hands clasped speaking through them, “Ms. Y/L/N we need you to go pitch the presentation. Mr. Allen…he’s out sick for the week and won’t be able to go, so we need you to step up and do it.” I sighed leaning back into my chair, this wasn’t the first time I’ve had to fill in for Mr. Allen. He always took these “sick leaves” whenever his presence was required. On the downlow, I found out earlier today by chance that he’s actually taking his mistress out on vacation. I overheard him apologizing to her on the phone, “baby, my girl, you know I love you, look I’ll take you to that one place you always talk about…what was it? Boracay! Right, let’s go there…yes, yes, I love you too.” He held his phone with the same hand his wedding band was on. I’ve meet his wife before at office parties, the poor woman, she was too innocent and sweet for that monster.
I felt like a puppet, a part of me knew that Allen rubbed elbows with Mr. Newberry, but I had more pride than that. I had to bite the bullet, if I did well I would be up for a promotion. “I’m going to be put at the Hilton, right? And compensated nicely for this, right?” My boss smiled sweetly at me, “of course, Ms. Y/L/N! All accommodations included. You just have to sell it and get the buy.” I nodded then standing up to offer a polite bow on my way out, “thank you for this opportunity Mr. Newberry.” He smirked, “the pleasure is all mine, Ms. Y/L/N.” I walked out of the room and when I was in an empty hallway I held up my middle finger thinking to myself, “you knew this would happen from the beginning bastard.” Just like they did, I had things up my sleeve as well, I’m always prepared for a challenge.
Mr. Newberry’s secretary stopped by my desk later, dropping off the ticket information for my short flight. My team had one day to solidify all the information, then I’d have to fly out to give a presentation immediately after I landed. I rubbed my throbbing temples, standing up to round my desk leaning at its edge. I barked out to my team, “alright Plan A is a go! Toss out Plan B! Mr. Newberry is letting me do the pitch, I need all the information printed into packets and on file in presentation ready by tomorrow. I’ll buy you guys coffee and dinner to keep awake. I want to say this before we all get cranky, thank you for working so hard, keep up the great work team!” A ‘yes, boss’ sounded from my team and the fingers on the keys typed faster. A symphony of different instruments all sounding together. I called the local coffee shop, the one who was already used to us ordering from them, “hi, I want to make an order for pick up. I’m going to need….” The night was still young, but the circles under my eyes were darker than the sky.
Peering through squinting eyes, my half-zombies of employees dropped a stack of packets on my desk and handed over a prepped USB. Equally as dead, I mumble out, “thank you. You all did amazing and pulled through. When I get back I’m buying you all that dinner.” An excited but tired yay left the small crowd while some immediately collapsed on their desk. I chuckled patting the back of the closest employee, “you did well, thank you.” I knocked on nearest and cleanest surface, “go home everyone, you deserve a good nights rest.” I picked up my blazer and draping it over my arm as I packaged the packets up nicely in a manila folder along with the USB. Finally, going home, but the night wasn’t over.
I packed my small suitcase for the trip, with the manila folder on the bottom securely under my clothing. I didn’t get to sleep long, maybe two hours maximum, before I was in a taxi on my way to the airport at two. I wanted to fall asleep in the taxi. The ride through the city was so comforting, but I forced my eyes open. After all the basics were covered and I was waiting for my plane, I bought a coffee then a spare to ensure I would stay awake. The last thing I needed was to miss my flight. Luckily the flight was directly to the destination, a total four hours, so once I boarded I took advantage of the time and took a short nap.
By the time I arrived, it was 7:30a.m., but I only had enough time to stop at the hotel, drop my suitcase off and get back in a taxi. Everything was going as planned and expected, except for one thing.
I walked up to the receptionist desk of my promised hotel, queuing behind a man in a suit. This Hotel was luxurious, men and women alike walking around in designer and suits. He crossed his leg leaning into the desk, “please sign here Mr. Kim.” My ears perked up hearing the familiar name, but then again, Kim was a common last name. The strangers silhouette though made me a bit skeptical. It’s been a while since I’ve seen Kim, so I must’ve be overthinking it. God, I hope I was overthinking it.
He scribbled his signature on the receipt and took the key card from the receptionist with a polite thank you. A smirk slowly formed on his face with each degree of his turn as I came into sight. His plump lips pulled thin as I caught his eye. His profile was irritating, how can someone look so put together this early. He side stepped out of my way, “Ms. Y/L/N, it’s great to see you.” I huffed lightly at his cocky tone, but kept the professionalism, “hello Mr. Kim, it’s great to see you too. I didn’t know you were going to be here.” I told the receptionist my information while maintaining conversation. I didn’t catch him, but he observed me bottom to top. Catching his eyes as they met mine, “are you here on business or pleasure Mr. Kim?”
I had to admit, he was handsome. He had all the characteristics that could be placed on the pro side of a scale: tall, smart, and good looking. However, admittedly I was too competitive with him to see most of those traits. Jin worked for a firm that was a rival to mine, so we would often meet when our companies would send us out. He brought out this side of myself that I felt with no one else, he just pushed my buttons.
My coworkers always remind me how amazing Jin was at his job. The women fawned over his looks, while the men patted his back for his prowess. He shows off his pearly whites to the executives and they’re a puddle of mush agreeing with whatever he said. He never panics, he was always at ease with himself and his craft. Everything about him was graceful and never rushed—like his work was an art performance. He never refused questions and had done more research than required. He was, for the lack of a better word…perfect. It irked me, but I could only humbly agree that he was…charismatic. I couldn’t deny that he’s a smart and confident; I could respect him for that. It’s not him personally that made my throat itch, but the people around me that always remind me never to fraternize with the enemy. Competition is competition. Business is business.
“Business affairs of course, Ms. Y/L/N.” I signed the last paper and was handed my key card. “Well, it was great catching up. If you’ll excuse me, I have work to do.“ He obnoxiously bowed, waving his hand teasingly towards the elevators as if I was royalty asking to pass. However, he followed behind going towards the elevators along with me.
When we stepped in, just the two of us, I pressed the button for the sixth floor. He reached over, “excuse me…oh, never mind.” I turned to him, “sixth floor as well?” He nodded, the rest of the ride was silent, but I could feel his eyes on me. I didn’t make myself discreet as I stared right back through the reflection on the elevator. I felt the awkwardness in the air, or it could’ve just been me. He smiled when I caught this lidded stare looking right back. I had this unnerving feeling in my stomach, whenever he would show up, something always happened.
Jin went right while I banked left. I slid my card into the lock and when the light turned green I opened the door. For the first time my hotel room wasn’t stuffy and debatably dingy. It was a small room with a queen size bed, but it was enough for a few day trip. I took out the envelope from the bottom of my suitcase checking everything once more. With my messenger bag, my laptop, and the goods I was ready to head back out. I fixed myself up before I left and found myself outside hailing a taxi. Traffic was light, so I made it there in less than fifteen minutes. I tipped the driver nicely, it was rare to get kind, fast service in the city. I looked up at the tall building, it was intimidating, but I adjusted my shoulders pulling them back. I could do this, this was going to be a breeze, people were counting on me.
The lobby was busy, I was swimming amongst the black and blue suits. I pushed through towards the elevator, sardining my way in until I squeezed my way out onto the twentieth floor. I smoothed out my clothing again, walked towards the nearest receptionist desk. “Hello, I have a meeting with Mr. Storey at 9 a.m..” The bun on this woman was pulling her face extra tight, free Botox I suppose. “Yes, please enter conference room A with the rest of the group.” I pulled my head back a bit, “others?” The receptionist nodded, “yes, our boss believes in efficiency. All pitchers for today will be presenting today one after the other as a group.” I sighed pulling my best smile. This was completely different from what I expected, but challenges are there to better you. At least that’s what I kept repeating to myself.
I cautiously opened the conference room door finding it already bustling with competitors. It was all of us swimming to pitch the best idea. I’ve heard of events like this, but this was a first for me. Did Mr. Allen already know about this as well? I found an empty chair and opened my laptop going over the power point. I scrolled down re-reading the file, but some of the slides were missing or shifted. I breathed in closing my eyes for a moment, “don’t panic, maybe it’s just a glitch.” I shut down the file, but when I reopened it a text box opened up “There was a problem when Microsoft PowerPoint when it was closed. We cannot open the corrupted file. We apologize for the inconvenience.” My leg began shaking impatiently, but I still reminded myself not to panic. I took out the USB and reinserting it attempting something else, anything else.
I jumped as I felt hot breath fan over my shoulders. My leg tremors halting in their anxiety, “not right now Kim.” My voice came out sassier than intended, but I wasn’t in the mood for jokes. He plopped into a chair next to me taking his own laptop shrugging at my jeer. Every new attempt didn’t work, the same error message reappeared. I could feel my pits embarrassingly building up with sweat, as people started settling down. The same secretary at the receptionist came to the front of the U table, looking at her watch. “We will begin the presentation in five minutes. The presenters will start around the table going clockwise, please be prepared when it comes to your turn.” I looked around the room realizing I was going to be the fourth to present. An unprecedented whine left my lips; technology was not my strong suit, but I had to figure out a solution.
Kim leaned over once more eyeing my screen, “seriously Kim, please, save it.” He had the audacity to chuckle at my distress. I turned towards him with a glare fully prepared, but he took the unresponsive laptop. He typed away clicking a few times, and before I could blink again it was back in front of me. It was all fixed, the presentation was up and running and had all the slides functioning again. My mouth fell agape, but he nonchalantly went back to his laptop. It felt odd, a weird feeling circled in my stomach, but I whispered out, “thank you.” A soft smile left his lips and my heart nearly stopped, it was, if not, the prettiest smile I’ve ever seen.
The presentation took up the whole morning and afternoon. Mr. Storey was the typical motivational speaker kind of guy. After every presentation he would insert a motivational quote or his own little speech. It was hard to read him if he actually enjoyed the pitches or was using it to turn into a lesson for the rest of the room. In a sick way, that was more terrifying than a one on one bit. At this point all I wanted to do was go back to my room and sleep. The verdict wouldn’t be given until after we all returned anyways. Especially since the rain started around lunch and it was lulling me to sleep.
Just let this day be over with.
I could feel the water dripping off me in a constant stream as I walked through the hotel lobby. My lent umbrella malfunctioned, two of the metal prongs holding the umbrella broke when the strong wind blew too hard. I pulled my blazer closer over me protecting my messenger bag, the front of my chest was completely drenched by the winds. I protected my plastic bag with a tray of piping hot takeout. It was the only thing I had to look forward today. I stopped and fished into my purse feeling my phone vibrate.
I wiped away the tendrils of my wet, seaweed hair, “hello, Y/L/N speaking.” The voice on the other end sloppily screamed into the receiver. I pulled my phone away form my face still able to hear the complaining on the other end. “Y/N...If anything….wrong….you’re…out!” I honestly didn’t need to listen to everything, I already know what he was implying. Mr. Newberry always did this after he sent me off; it was his way of feeling dominant. I would uh-huh into the phone every now and then to let him know I was still listening.
At the hotel bar Jin watched from a distance, unexpectedly distracted by the click of heels then the beautiful woman. He watched Y/N from over the rim of his wine glass. She pulled the phone away from her wincing at the receiver. He couldn’t help but let out a huff of a laugh under his breath. He’s been there before. He had to admit, he liked her. Every time they crossed paths, his life would become a thousand times more interesting. It seems like cheeky gnomes were always at her feet making her life a sitcom. She was pretty, like a main actress, so it would make sense her life was a sitcom. It only egged him on when she was sassy with him, her intelligence was her best characteristic.
No one else was up front with him like she was, he didn’t have to impress her, he was himself. She brought this side out of him that no one else could. However today though, when she thanked him the blush coating her cheeks one upped any other expression he’d seen. This expression on her face now had to be one of his least favorites, exhaustion seeping like a tangible aura out of her. His eyes followed her as she walked slowly to the elevator, but he remained seated watching her disappear into the elevator.
I shucked off my heels smacking the wall with two thumps. I draped my blazer over the back of a chair setting the messenger bag on the chair. I tossed the broken umbrella into the trash and set my food on the desk in the room. I just wanted to take off my soaked clothes and shower. If I was fast enough, I could eat my food while it was still hot. I brought out my suitcase from the closet and grabbed my facial cleansers. I trudged to the bathroom for the first time taking in this particular room. It was very modern, and I was lucky to get a suite with a bathtub. Maybe if I had time, I would use it tomorrow morning.
I unpacked my facial regimen near the sink. I flipped up the hot water lever, but the water came out in spurts making funny sounds. I closed the lever fast, waiting a few seconds before trying again. Maybe the sink hadn’t be used in a while? After a moment I flipped it up again, but this time the stream was violent, and the water color was a murky yellow. I karate chopped the lever down, that color I’m sure was legal. I went back into the main room and dialed the front desk who promised a maintenance man to come check on it.
The man tweaked with the faucet scratching his head, “hmm, none of our other rooms are having this problem. I think it would be best to move you to another room.” I heavily sighed but smiled through my teeth. This day was…lovely. The maintenance man called the front desk telling them to reassign me a new room. I packed up all my belongings and made way to the front desk.
Jin was still sitting at the bar, working on the same drink. Barely ten minutes had passed when his eye brows raised to his hairline seeing Y/N at the receptionist desk. He noticed the suitcase and messenger bag strapped around her. After a few minutes she bowed in thanks to the receptionist making her way back to the elevator.
My food was cold for sure; the styrofoam flavor had set in by this point. My room was now on the third floor. I turned left out of the elevator dragging my suitcase behind me. I slid the keycard in and pushed it open. The room smelled nice, and nothing seemed off. Again, I shucked off my heels and abandoned my suitcase and bag by the door. This time I was determined to skip the shower and just eat. I rummaged through my purse for a hair tie and tied my hair up tight, taming the kelp.
The king size bed was an upgrade from the last room. I searched for the remote control, switching it onto a random, tolerable channel. I just needed something to drown out my thoughts. I unknotted the handles of the plastic bag, taking out the takeout tray and a plastic fork. I opened the box and took a deep inhale of my savory food. The food was still a bit warm. I could feel myself salivating so without further interruptions, I plopped carelessly onto the bed.
Crack, creak, crunch and there went the box spring planks. The soundtrack Ave Maria played at 0.5x speed as my food flew out of its compartments and all over my chest. My white dress shirt and black pencil skirt was coated in a wonderful array of colors and smells. I struggled to stand up pushing the empty tray onto the floor. The bed was on the floor in shambles; I could even see the wooden frame sticking out from underneath. My mouth hung open like a fish out of water. I wanted to scream, but I took in a deep breath letting it all out. I attempted to steady my breathing, but it instead angered me further. I let out a guttural yell I was sure was heard in the next rooms over. This was the last straw! I stomped over to the phone, then reminded myself not to yell into the receiver. I dialed the front again, letting them know I needed a room change. A manager knocked at the door this time. When I opened the door, the managers eyes flew wide open and he apologized profusely when he saw the aftermath.
Fifteen minutes had passed, since her last venture to the lobby. Jin paid the bartender satisfied with only a glass for tonight. He picked up his blazer and shoved off the bar stool. The heels of his loafers clicked against the title of the lobby, the rest of the residents were well dressed in either suits like him, or designer clothing. Like a magnet his eyes stuck onto the eye sore at the receptionist counter again.
She ran a frustrated hand through her hair standing at the receptionist desk for the third time today. She turned slightly and he caught the food stains all over her shirt and the mascara running down her cheeks. He couldn’t laugh, he felt worried for her, so he changed his direction towards her. As he approached he heard her spew out, “what do you mean there no other rooms?” She fell forward letting her forehead bang onto the counter, “this can’t be happening, this can’t be happening.” He stood next to her looking towards the receptionist, “is there a problem here?” Y/N grumbled out, “please, Kim, I’ve had a long night.”
What I didn’t expect was he didn’t laugh, instead his tone sounded concerned. I smelled strongly of food, and wet dog; I felt absolutely disgusting. I felt humiliated enough. The familiar receptionist tried to not stare at the blatantly obvious mess I was. At this point I could care less how I looked, I just wanted a functioning room. She turned to Jin, “there are no more available rooms here tonight.” I pulled out my cell phone finding the only thing left to do was search for another hotel in the area. This was giving me a headache.
Jin was quiet, mulling over his thoughts. He was sure she was going to reject, but the last thing he wanted was her to go out at night this late. “Stay with me.” Her head shot up from the counter with her mouth agape trying to find the joke. “Jin, this isn’t funny.” He shrugged, “I’m being serious, there’s no other rooms. You shouldn’t go out this late, besides its still raining. Do you think if you approach another hotel looking the way you do they would let you stay?” His words left a bad taste in my mouth, but he wasn’t wrong. I turned back to the receptionist, “there really isn’t any other room? Storage closet even?” She bowed politely, “no, ma’am I’m sorry there isn’t.” I sighed turning around once biting my lip, then whipped around to Jin, “okay.”
There was no victorious smirk, or jeer at my situation he took my suitcase for me leading me towards the elevators. I stood behind him fiddling with my thumb in the elevator. It didn’t settle well in my stomach being in debt to Jin. I pulled my messenger bag closer to me as I watched his back walk down the hallway. I traced the edges of his back with my eyes. I never really looked at him, just passing glancing. I had tunnel vision, because I was so determined to beat him in any meeting. I almost ran into that broad back but stopped in time when we came up to his door.
He’s never once lost his grace, his hand was calm inserting the key card in. On the other hand, my palms were sweating. Why did I take this deal again? The familiar smirk took home on his lips, “calm down, Y/N. I’m not going to do anything.” I choked a bit on my saliva, “I’m—I’m not nervous.” Great, that came out perfect, stable with ease. He nodded, but I could see he was holding back laughter. I gripped and released on the plastic handle of my suitcase. He’s being kind, the least I could do is offer the same back.
He let me go in first. I looked back at him after setting my bag down, “there’s only one bed?” He nodded at my obvious observation, “I’ll sleep on the couch there.” He pointed to the loveseat, that was obviously too small for the six-foot giant. “No, I’ll sleep there.” He wanted to rebuttal, but I continued, “may I take a shower? I really don’t want to smell like my dinner anymore.” He tossed the key card on a table top pulling at his tie to loosening it up, “go ahead, take your time.” I gulped hard when I noticed his collarbone sticking out from his white button up. I dragged myself and my suitcase into the bathroom, before I dragged myself further down humiliation road.
Business is business.
I settled against the door putting a hand over my chest. This was so unusual, why was my heart beating so fast? There’s something wrong with me. It must be all the stress making me more sensitive. I locked the door then I peeled off my button up shirt and threw it in the sink along with my skirt. The hair tie was discarded on the counter, the wet strands sticking to my skin. I turned up the hot water knob to its full capacity and stood under the hot water until I felt completely clean. I wrapped a towel around my body, finally feeling some sense of relief.  I fished out of my purse my phone checking for anything important. I scrolled through the infinite drunk messages from my boss. At some point his messages turned from scolding to desperate pleads to get the buy.
I dried my hair before I slipped on my oversize shirt and leggings on to sleep in. I opened the door cautiously setting my stuff near the entryway. Again, my hands naturally went to clutch in front of myself as I stepped into the main room. Jin, who had changed into sweats and a white shirt, was standing around three carts of food, lifting the metal lids from pipping hot plates. The delicious scent of food wafted through the air, I gulped down the saliva pooling in my mouth. I’ll just sleep and eat in the morning.
I passed by Jin going towards the loveseat finding a blanket and pillow situated there. I smiled unconsciously at the kindness. “Are you hungry?” I unfolded the blanket rearranging myself onto the couch, “no, I’m fine. I’m just going to sleep.” That would’ve been convincing if my stomach didn’t decide to roar in protest. This time a melodious laugh poured out of his lips. “Oh, what is that? I got you a plate, but if you insist you’re not hungry…I guess I’ll have to eat it.” I sat up peering over at him, “why are you being so nice to me?” He pushed a tray cart over to me, “I’m always nice to you Y/N.” I couldn’t argue, because it was true. He was always right. I looked down concealing my embarrassment. “Thank you.” He nodded sitting at the edge of his bed turning on the TV to fill the silence. I wanted to be polite, but I ended up eating like it was my last meal.
“So…how’s your day—whoa! Don’t choke!” I nearly spit out the food in my mouth, one from not expecting him to want to talk and two the question lack sensibility. He pushed the glass of water towards me, which I took gratefully. “Sorry, that was a bad question, I’ll admit it.” I laughed once the hard gulp cleared. Jin was so smooth with his words when he was working, even in between, but this man sitting here was tactless. I stabbed my fork into my food staring up conversation with a more natural opener and before we knew it, we were talking for a few hours. We had a lot more in common than I expected, even our sense of humor matched up.
We cleaned the plates and Jin placed the carts out into the hallway. When he came back in he stood near his bed for a moment, “are you sure you’re going to be fine sleeping there?” I nodded toying with the edge of the blanket. He turned off the TV and then the light switch bathing the room in darkness. I slipped further into the couch, cramped, but adjusted none the less. I heard the shuffling of blankets and then the decompression of a pillow. “Good night Jin…thank you…for everything.” I didn’t have to see it, but I could some how sense the smile on his face. “Your welcome. Good night Y/N.”
I couldn’t find a comfortable spot, so I flipped over a few times and each time it only felt comfortable for a few moments. I hated moving because the crinkling of the barely used couch wasn’t discreet. “Y/N, join me on the bed.” I froze before I was about to turn again, “it’s fine Jin.” He sat up clicking on the bedside table lamp. “Y/N, I promise to stick to my side, just join me. Your shuffling is keeping me awake.” He lifted the comforter up patting the empty space next to him.
Again, my heart took a mind of its own beating like a tambourine. This wouldn’t be my first time sleeping next to a man, but this was Jin. The indistinguishable flames of contempt and scorn should be tickling by now, but I couldn’t find it in me. He was genuinely offering, no strings. I hesitantly took my pillow and plopped it down onto the mattress and slipped into the bed. I stayed as close to the edge as possible slipping under the covers. He chuckled, and I swear I heard a whisper, “cute.”
He couldn’t fall asleep anymore, especially with her next to him. His eyes trailed the outline of her curves through the sheets. The soft dip of her waist, the beautiful curve of her neck as her hair fell like watercolor swirling through water onto her pillow. She turned around inching closer to the center of the center of the bed. Subconsciously he moved closer as well, seeking her out. She looked so sweet, gentle, he was cherishing this expression he rarely got to see. The rain picked up outside thrumming harder against the window. He brought his eyes back to Y/N when whines blubbered through her lips. Her eye brows scrunched together as she curled in on herself. She must be having a nightmare, a terrible one at that.
Subconsciously she reached out, curling towards Jin. Her hands fisted in his shirt and her legs intertwine with his. He contained a shiver as her cold feet traced up his calf, so her body rested in an arch position against him. He should’ve pushed her away, but instead his thumb traced over her brows. He smoothed them out until they relaxed. Her face instantly softened, and a breath of relief ghosted along his collarbones. She was the perfect chill to his overheating body, fitting against him perfectly.
I opened my eyes slowly, against my better judgment, and realized that my forehead was directly on Jin’s chest. My hands fisted against in his shirt tangling as if I was headphone wires. My jaw dropped as I unraveled myself and shimmed away from him, mortified that I sought him out. The change in temperature woke him from his haze, “Y/N? Are you okay?” I couldn’t form words properly, his husky tone ticked away my rational thoughts, “I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to!” He smiled lazily, “…you were having a nightmare, it’s okay.” I still felt the remnants of his touch, the warmth.
He was patient waiting for her to make the next move. It was always her.
Maybe the darkness was giving me courage, or it was…the ease I felt towards Jin now. I cut the silence pulling the blanket closer over myself, “I keep—I keep having them every night.” His eyes fell into something like adoration and sympathy. “You can talk to me Y/N.” He wanted to reach out and hold her, but we were back to reality. “You wouldn’t understand Jin. You do everything right. You know how to talk to people. Just a smile and they’re on your side. I have to drown myself and then maybe people will consider me. I’m not good enough for anything.” The more she confessed her sins to his church, the higher the veil of her blanket rose. She bowed at her vices and insecurities, setting herself bare to her senses. The choking on her own insecurities made him want to bid her forgiveness, something she didn’t deserve from him, but if he could ease it then he would.
He reached over pulling the blanket away from her face settling on top of her hand. He moved closer to her, his gaze never leaving her lost ones. He swiped away at tears staining her rosy cheeks smiling softly at the fragile being before him. “Y/N. I’m not this God you make me out to be. I’m afraid, I lose sleep, and forget to eat just to please others. Where we stand now, on this equal and same plane, it wasn’t easy getting here. You living your life comparing it to someone else isn’t ever going to satisfy you. When have you lived your life for yourself?”
I nearly choked on my own tears, the question of ‘how are you’ or ‘what do you want’ are always daunting. “I don’t. I can’t. I do things that only benefit me, whether I like it or not. Don’t get me wrong I like my job, but sometimes it feels like I’m getting nowhere.” His soothing finger over my cheek didn’t stop and since when did he get so close? I could feel his hot breath on my skin, a breath of paradise in the Antarctic. “You’re strong Y/n. The strongest person I know. I admire you y/n, but what do you want?”
We sat in silence until my tears dried, but I couldn’t stop myself from staring at his lips. His eyes were watching mine with equal need. There was one thing I was sure I wanted. It was him, even if it was for just tonight. A passing instant of mistaking want for need, because right now I needed him, “you, I want you.”
The heat of our reluctant exhales as we pull away for mere seconds, to catch a breather. The touches between us both were teasing, true to our nature. The first brush of our lips was reluctant his eyes searching for hesitation. Our kisses started out cautiously, but eventually he was pushing me over the edge with his nips at my lip and his tongue asking for entrance. I granted him that, at this point I feel like I wanted to be his genie. He pushed at my shoulders to hover over me, but I’m not that kind of giving genie.
I pushed back until he was flat on his back and I was straddling him, our lips never separating in the process. I parted from his lips, but he tried to sit up to catch them again. My hands stayed firm pushing down on his chest, “Y/N?” I leaned forward to peck his lips, biting my swelling lips on recoil very much liking this position looking at him from above.
His hands trailed up and down my thighs rubbing them appreciatively. He wanted to do whatever she wanted, he’s finally getting to touch her, kiss her. He leaned his head back looking at me through lustfully lidded eyes and parting his pillow lips. He was almost too pretty to touch. I regained my motion when I felt his erection touching my inner thigh straining in his sweatpants. I lowered myself onto him, clothed cores caressing, but my leggings were thin. Slowly, like molasses, I began grinding against him. I didn’t expect the sensation to travel up my back, so I threw my head back in pleasure. I whined tangling my hands in his shirt, but I wanted it off. “Jin, take it off.”
He follows my biding crossing his arms to lift his shirt over his head. My jaw nearly fell out of socket feeling like I was observing a Greek statue. It was hard to tell under his suits that there was a developed body underneath. I let my fingertips play against his abs, making him squirm slightly. It made me smile, I liked how responsive he was. “You’re doing so good for me baby boy.” I trailed up further circling around his pectorals, searching his eyes for the deeper look staring right back at me.
I circled around trailing closer to his harden buds. I leaned down flicking it with my tongue, nibbling and then sucking lightly. Deep groans then high pitch whines dance on my ears and I wanted more. I trailed around his chest wanting to leave violet and navy marks on his perfect skin. I wanted to play the succubus to this angel’s demise into sin. I wasn’t sure If I could take the teasing anymore, my panties were soaked still slowly moving against him. I wanted him inside me already.
As my lips moved up his jaw to find his lips again, his palms found my ass kneading it desperately. “Y/N—ah—God, that feels so good!” A predatorial smile found its way on my lips. I kissed him until the vibrations of his moans were a never-ending resonance. His hands came to still my hips, “stop—stop. If you keep going I’m going to come in my pants.” I trailed a hand down to cup his bulge, “can I? I need you in me.” My walls clenched at the thought of him stretching me out, if my hands were telling of his size then I was in for a filling. I was getting impatient with my own teasing, I needed him.
His hands trailed up my oversized shirt trailing up my stomach to the edges of my breast, only to find no bra. A huff of a gasp left his lips, “you’re so naughty, no bra Y/N?” He molded his large palms onto my breast wanting to feel every bit. He twisted and pinched as I arched towards him stripping myself of my shirt. I pulled away reluctantly kneeling at the end of the bed shimming out of my leggings too. “No panties as well, Y/N. Ugh—you’re going to be the death of me.” I smirked biting my lips teasingly. His eyes cleared for a moment, “condom? Shit, I don’t have one.” I cooed at him, “don’t worry, I’m on birth control and clean, are you?” His eyes widened at the thought of feeling her raw around him. Jin nodded obediently, “yes, I’m all clear.”
He pulled down his pants and his thick, red-tipped cock smacked against his naval. I got down on all fours crawling towards Jin like a cat.  He felt like a man trudging up a hill to the temple of the holy saint Y/N. He wanted to bow at the goddess feet, to remind her that she was to be worshiped. The goddess could only be strong as her people praise her and he was going to invigorate her. The look in his eye was of a man looking at a woman with lust and adoration. His lips ghosted along hers, half lidded eyes full of promises, “can I?”
I nodded letting myself bathe in the warmth of Jinyoung, his broad chest a mattress of its own. His plush, lips pressed against mine briefly, leaving an imprint of their touch. They didn’t linger far, the skin still a peach fuzz length away. This time I was chasing his honey, wanting to dive into the sweetness.
I sat on his lap again, angling his cock and swiveling it over my honied folds. I whined at the sensation, he nodded asking me to sink onto him. My walls clamped around him, a grunt of pleasure slipping through his lips. His breathing was labored as much as mine was, this was something he could get addicted to. I sat pubic bone to pubic bone, the tip of his cock nudging at my cervix. I was right, he filled me up perfectly.
His hands caressed my sides teasing my breast then trailing down to grip at my ass. He wanted to admire everything, she was breath taking. “You’re so beautiful.” I lowered my head concealing the blush spreading like wildfire on my cheeks. I lifted up falling back down from base to tip in long strokes. I was afraid if I went to fast I wouldn’t last long. The images I painted early riled me up. His hands secured over my hips helping me bounce. I swiveled my hips to have him hit all angles. He sat up coating my chest and neck in kisses urging me to continue. Moans and mewls increasing grew louder as I picked up pace.
He threw his head back biting his lip but never took his eyes off mine, “your fucking me so good Y/N. Your taking this cock so well.” I felt the prowess I had slipping back to him. He wrapped his arms around my waist flipping us over with him looming on top. He stilled inside me, I whined for him to continue, but his lips went back to my neck and his thrust were minimal. I wanted—needed—him to faster, harder, more. “Jinyoung, harder!” He mumbled into my neck, “what was that baby girl?” I whined at the nickname, but I was too far gone to care. “Please, harder, fuck me harder!”
He smirked against my neck pulling as far back until his tip was hanging at the entrance and slammed back in. I could feel myself nearing my climax and he could too. I tightly wound my legs around his waist holding on for dear life as his brutal hips snapped against me. My new nickname rolled of his tongue in between his grunts and moans. He wanted to bring y/n to an end before he did. He could feel it bubbling up, threating to coat her paradise, but y/n’s needs came first. He sat up angling himself to perfectly hit that one sweet spot inside me. “Jin!” He continued to roll himself into that spot. “Good baby girl?” I didn’t want to close my eyes, I wanted to watch him, but it was getting harder when white was coating my vision. “Jin, I’m—I’m—going to….”
With a few more rolls of his hips fireworks set off within me. I clenched tightly around him and within a few more thrust he was coming. My undulating walls milked him for all he was worth. He collapsed on top of me and I ran my hands through his hair. He twisted to leave soft, gently kisses on my lips. Our hot breath intertwined as I giggled lightly, “that was—amazing.” He smiled kissing me again, “that was.” He shifted collapsing next to me bringing me into his arms. The moment was perfect. I didn’t even want to bother wiping his cum trailing down my thigh. The night faded out with our giggles and lingering kisses. Eventually we fell asleep in eachothers arms and I was nightmare free.
My heels clicked and echoed down the hall. I was off again on another trip, but this time to a local business. I scrolled through my phone checking over my schedule once more. I didn’t notice the second pair of loafer heels clicking, approaching at the other end. I mumbled out my schedule finding it solidifies it to memory with repetition. “Tuesday at 3pm Mr. Lee from CREx Co….,” I then felt hot breath over my shoulder. “Wednesday at 9 a.m., make sure to pencil in breakfast with Kim Seokjin.” I shook nearly dropping my phone spinning to face my rival. “Mr. Kim, what are you doing here?” He scoffed, “y/n, its only us, you don’t have to address me so formally.” I huffed pretentiously, “we’re on the clock right now.”
He stepped closer his chest almost touching mine, “is that tight skirt also on the clock right now?” His hand went to caress my hip, but I slipped from his groping. I bit my lip but suppressed the flirtatious comeback. “Oh, Mr. Kim, if you keep following me from behind you won’t get to see the hands of the clock.” He raised his brow, but trailed after me as I walked again, but finding it odd that I deviated away from the conference room. He stopped at the end of the hall watching me go to a storage closet and open the door and wink at him before I left it slightly ajar. He sped walked towards the door slipping inside. I was already unbuttoning the top buttons of my blouse, “are you here for business or pleasure Mr. Kim.” He bit his lip, “business affairs Ms. Y/L/N. Business affairs baby girl.”
He closed the door behind him, with a clink of the lock.

“Jungkook didn’t trust you guys at first? How did you all meet anyways?” Y/n asked.
“Ah, it’s a long story. Tell you what, let me make lunch and then we can tell each other about what led us here, deal?”
“Deal.”
Everything started six years ago, with an unlucky human and runaway angel.
Kim Namjoon was a high schooler with more bad luck than friends, so when he got mistakenly jumped by a group of werewolves looking for someone that had hurt one of their family, he just added it to the long list of things that had gone wrong recently. Of course, this was the first time he had been left bleeding to death in an alley, but it really just felt like the icing on the cake of his already terrible week.
Namjoon’s luck took a turn for the better however when an angel found his unconscious form and decided to heal him. The angel in question was Jung Hoseok, though he preferred to go by Hobi. It was almost unheard of for an angel to leave their luxurious cities high in the clouds, since many of them believed they were above those that walked the ground (technically they were, but that was only because they literally lived in the sky). But Hobi was different. He wanted to help the people of Earth instead of just watch them suffer from his place in the clouds. And so, as soon as he had finished his schooling, Hobi ran away from home and down to Earth.
When Namjoon opened his eyes and saw a being with feathery wings crouching over him, he was sure he had died. In fact, it wasn’t until the two of them had reached Namjoon’s home that he believed Hobi’s insistences that the boy was very much alive, thanks to his timely intervention.
Namjoon (as well as his mother when she was informed of the situation) must have thanked Hobi a thousand times for saving his life. They offered him money as a gesture of their appreciation but he refused, stating that all he’d really want from them was their friendship. And also maybe a place to stay since he didn’t really think this whole “running away” thing through and didn’t have a place to sleep that night.
Things seemed pretty good for a while, Hobi moved in and got a job helping out at the nearby hospital and Namjoon went back to school. They ended up being best friends not long after Hobi started living with them, just kind of seeming to click with one another. With school going well and finally having someone he felt close with, Namjoon felt like his bad luck streak was coming to an end. But it wasn’t quite over yet.
A week before the next full moon, they received an envelope in the mail. Inside was a large sum of cash and a letter apologizing for what happened to Namjoon. Needless to say he was surprised, he hadn’t known that his attack had been a mistake, though he was glad that the people were kind enough to send some compensation. What really shocked him however, was the warning at the end of the letter.
“Lock yourself inside during the next full moon.”
Namjoon felt stupid. He had known the people who had attacked him were werewolves, but it hadn’t even crossed his mind that he might become one. He spent the next week anxiously researching everything he could about werewolves and how to have a smooth transformation. His biggest fear was losing control and hurting someone. He didn’t want anyone to suffer at his hands, let alone his mother or Hobi.
When the night of the full moon came, Namjoon locked himself in his room as the letter had advised. His mother had prepared a big meal for him since his research had told him that the transformation burned a lot of calories and a lot of werewolf attacks were purely because they were hungry.
Hobi and Ms. Kim were waiting anxiously outside of Namjoon’s room. When the time finally came, they heard a number of pained grunts and labored breathing coming from the other side of the door, but didn’t dare open it. Namjoon had made them promise not to come in unless they were sure it was safe.
After about a minute, the grunts were replaced with the sounds of food being eaten, and finally, silence. Figuring that Namjoon should’ve been sated by then and worried about his friend, Hobi decided to open the door. He inched it open ever so slowly, ready to slam it shut at the first sign of aggression.
When he finally opened the door enough to peek inside, Hobi’s mouth fell open in awe. The fact that there was a wolf in Namjoon’s room didn’t surprise him, he had been expecting that and though the black fur and yellow eyes were different from how he’d pictured his friend as a wolf, it wasn’t that shocking. What was shocking was said wolf being about the same size as Hobi.
Though the wolf was huge, anyone could tell from the way it was laying belly-up on the ground that it wasn’t intent on hurting anyone. They spent the rest of that night almost like any other, even though Namjoon wasn’t allowed on the couch. They were all relieved that the night was going as well as it was, and felt confident that they could handle the full moons to come.
However, come morning Namjoon was shocked to discover he still had wolf ears and a tail on his human form. He really didn’t want any of the kids at school to know about his new abilities, but how was he supposed to hide this now? Luckily, Hobi was quick to act and helped Namjoon figure out how to hide his new appendages with a hat and some loose fitting jeans. The rest of the year passed smoothly and surprisingly enough, no one found out about Namjoon’s werewolf identity.
Life wasn’t really turning out how he had expected it to. If you had asked him five years ago where he thought he’d be, he probably would’ve guessed that he and his childhood best friend Yoongi would be either working together or going off to college, not that Yoongi would move away the very next year or that Namjoon would end up being a werewolf with an angel for a best friend. But it wasn’t really a bad thing. He was pretty happy with where he was in life. And perhaps his predictions weren’t entirely wrong.
In the fall after graduation, Namjoon ran into his old best friend while searching for movie night snacks at the local convenience store with Hobi. Yoongi seemed a lot different than how Namjoon remembered him. Of course he was older now, but he looked a lot tireder too, not to mention how pale he had grown. Nonetheless Namjoon was overjoyed to see him. He invited Yoongi over for dinner one night, and though he refused the offer of dinner (which was odd in itself since Namjoon remembered that Yoongi used to love his mom’s cooking), he agreed to stop by later in the night.
They soon parted ways with a promise to meet again, and Namjoon was left puzzling over his old friend. His physical changes weren’t really that big of a deal, but Yoongi had been acting kind of strange too. It seemed like he was genuinely happy to see Namjoon again, but he also seemed to be nervous about something. It wasn’t until Hobi innocently asked why Namjoon had never mentioned that Yoongi was a vampire that he figured it out.
A few days later, Yoongi showed up at Namjoon’s house just as he promised. He still seemed nervous, but this time Namjoon was too. They were both keeping pretty big secrets from each other, as Yoongi didn’t know about Namjoon’s newfound supernatural abilities either. Luckily for them though, Hobi was there to break the ice. While the three of them were immersed in a videogame, the angel bluntly asked when Yoongi had been turned into a vampire, and then proceeded to out Namjoon’s status as a werewolf when the two turned to stare at him with wide eyes.
It was awkward at first, trying to be friends after so long spent apart and each of them having changed so much, but eventually Yoongi and Namjoon fell back into their old familiarity and comfort. Namjoon wasn’t sure if Yoongi and Hobi would get along, and was surprised by them becoming close friends almost immediately. Yoongi started hanging out at Namjoon’s house all time time, and Namjoon felt content with where he was in life.
A year after Yoongi met Namjoon again, he received a call from one of his high school friends, begging him to help one of her friends. The friend in question was a dryad named Jin. Yoongi remembered meeting once or twice, but they never really talked much. The land Jin’s tree was on was in danger of being bought by some company that wanted to clear the area for more housing developments, and they refused to listen when Jin told them that cutting down that tree would literally kill him. All dryads had a single tree they were connected too, but most didn’t have to worry about the health of the tree as it didn’t have any impact on their own health. Jin, however, was from a family line in which the death of the tree would mean the death of the dryad. It was possible to transfer his connection to a different tree, but the process was long and difficult and he didn’t have that much time.
Yoongi told Hobi and Namjoon about the situation, and the three of them agreed to do whatever they could to help. Though how they would help was another problem entirely. The only solution they could see, if the contractors weren’t listening to Jin's pleas, was to buy the land before they could. It had a house on it that the boys could move into to justify the cost, but the land was still incredibly expensive. It would take all of Yoongi, Namjoon, and Hobi’s savings combined, as well as what was left of the money Namjoon had received in the letter and on top of that they would have to take out loans to be able to afford it. It wasn’t the best financial decision for three boys fresh out of highschool, but they couldn’t just leave Jin to die.
When his friend told Jin that she had found someone to help him buy the land, he was shocked by how willing these almost complete strangers were to come to his aid. At first he thought she must have found some rich old person with a heart of gold, but when she told him who his saviors really were he almost considered refusing. If his life weren’t on the line, he probably would have. How could he just let some kids younger than he was throw away their money like that? But he was desperate. And so, with guilt weighing heavily on his mind, Jin allowed the boys to help him, promising to make it up to them in any way he could.
Purchasing the land was fairly easy once they had enough funds, and soon enough they were all packing their bags to move to the new place. The house only had three rooms, so Hobi and Namjoon would be sharing one. It made the most sense since they had been sharing a room for the past year, and were already used to living with each other.
Living with Jin and Yoongi however, was an entirely new experience. It wasn’t entirely bad, but it was weird getting used to their quirks and habits. Namjoon slept walk, Jin sung in the shower, Hobi’s wings kept molting and Yoongi was always found sleeping in the weirdest places. But Namjoon was also the first to settle any disputes and made sure their plans were on track. Jin looked after the boys’ health and was the one to cook more often than not. Hobi did most of the household chores and was always there to cheer them up after a long day. Though they all had jobs, Yoongi was the one that worked the most and brought home the most money, as well as taking care of any official paperwork or other adult stuff they needed done. It wasn’t perfect, and there were quite a few arguments that broke out, but at the end of the day they were all glad to have met each other.
Two years passed, and the boys had grown comfortable with their daily routine. Not much had occurred to disrupt it, and they all figured that the strange events that had led to them meeting weren’t going to be a recurring theme. That is, until Namjoon, Yoongi, and Hobi came home to find Jin serving snacks to a fairy and a kitsune.
The dryad took them aside as soon as they came home and explained that he had found the pair wandering around in their yard. They both looked lost and in need of help so Jin invited them inside and offered them snacks, listening as they told him about what brought them there.
The fairy, who’s name was Taehyung, had recently left the reclusive fae village he called home in search of adventure. Growing up, he had only known the bounds of his village and the way of the fae, but he wanted to know more. He wanted to know about mermaids and werewolves, angels and non-magical creatures, how their cities worked and how people lived without magic. He wanted to know everything about the outside world, but there was only so much he could learn from the books in his village. He needed to actually go out and participate in it if he was going to learn everything. And so, packing his bags and saying goodbye to his family, Taehyung set off to learn about the world.
The first person he met in his travels was Jimin, a kitsune who had only recently become human. Kitsunes were a specific type of shapeshifter, born as a fox and granted magical abilities, which including being able to turn into a human, once they had lived for 100 years. Being 100 years old, Jimin had a decent amount of general wisdom. But since those years had been spent living as a fox, Jimin’s knowledge about life as a human was pretty limited.
Since they both had limited knowledge of the human world, Tae and Jimin decided to team up. If they worked together, they basically had twice as much knowledge as before. With their newfound friendship, the boys continued their trek through the woods. They arrived at their current destination after a few days of walking, since both of them had been deep in the forest. When Jin found them, they had been trying to decide whether they should go up to the house or keep walking in hopes that they found a city. The dryad’s invitation and promise of food had been what made up their minds.
While the two newcomers ate, the other boys conferred on what they were gonna do. It was obvious that they had no place to stay tonight, and their lack of experience in cities made it unlikely that they were going to find somewhere to sleep. Of course, they could always go back to the woods, but that wasn’t the most comfortable place to sleep, and it was clear the two boys wanted to go to the city.
Namjoon was quick to point out how dangerous the city could be, especially for a couple of newcomers. Hell, he had lived in the city all his life but still ended up getting jumped. Hobi too was reluctant to let them traipse into possible danger, though Yoongi and Jin were a little unsure about letting them live here. It’s not that they were totally against the idea, but they wanted to think it through carefully before inviting more strangers into their home. Yoongi pointed out that no one would be able to have their own room anymore, and it might be a while before Jimin and Taehyung would be able to find a job to help contribute to the household. Jin on the other hand was busy teasing Namjoon and Hobi about their trend of taking in strays, warning that they were gonna run out of room in the house if they kept it up.
In the end, their concern for these two strangers ended up outweighing any cons of having them move in, and Jimin and Taehyung were offered a place in their home. Tae was quick to accept, but even quicker to retract his acceptance and look to Jimin for his decision. They might not have known each other for very long, but the fairy didn't want to abandon his new friend. The kitsune contemplated the decision for a short while, weighing the pros and cons heavily, before finally agreeing, figuring it was his best opportunity to learn how to navigate human society. The two were very grateful for the boys’ kindness, and promised that they’d pay them back however they could. Namjoon had to agree with Jin that there was a clear trend appearing with the new friends he made.
It wasn’t even six months before the next “stray” showed up. Jimin and Taehyung had been adjusting to their new lives well. Both of them managed to secure a job after just a month of getting used to human society, and were glad to finally be able to help out around the house with more than just chores. They also fit right in with the other boys, introducing a lot more playfulness than had previously been present. They shared Yoongi’s old room. At first Yoongi had moved into Jin’s room, but due to their opposing opinions on sunlight and how often their curtains should be left open, Yoongi ended up switching places with Hobi and going to room with Namjoon.
Jimin was happy he decided to stay. Not only was it a great opportunity to get help figuring out human life, it was also a chance to make friends. He had grown very fond of the boys since he met them, especially Taehyung. The two had quickly become best friends, bonding over their shared lack of experience.
Jimin was thinking about his new friends after work one day, waiting for them to pick him up, when he noticed something slouched against a building across the street from him. He wouldn’t even have known it was there if he hadn’t heard a groan coming from that direction.
Studying the figure in the gathering darkness, Jimin noticed the humanoid shape first, and the horns and wings second. Some sort of dragon hybrid then? He crossed the street, carefully approaching the creature. He probably should have left well enough alone, but the possibility that this could be someone in need outweighed any danger of being attacked. Jimin was pretty sure he could handle himself in a fight anyways.
As he drew closer however, the blood he noticed pooling around the creature was a clear indicator that they weren’t in any shape to fight. Jimin called out to them just as Hobi and Jin pulled up in the shared car. After not receiving a response from the figure, Jimin urgently waved Hobi and Jin over to him. The angel was quick to start healing the stranger as soon as he saw what was going on. When the person was stable, Jin and Jimin carried him into the back seat of the car and drove as fast as they could back to the house.
When they arrived, they placed the dragon hybrid on the couch and Hobi went back to healing him while the other boys discussed what to do. They were all pretty much in agreement that he could stay at least until he was better, but Yoongi pointed out that he may not even want to. Hobi, Jimin, and Jin had basically kidnapped the kid, and though their hearts were in the right place he may not see it that way.
It was a few hours before the dragon boy returned to consciousness, and another twenty minutes before they could get him to calm down enough to listen to them. They understood why he was scared, he had passed out from blood loss and then woken up with no clue where he was and six strangers staring at him, but the burn marks on the couch really weren’t appreciated.
Of course, it was Tae’s fault for rushing towards the boy as soon as he saw that he was awake. He should’ve expected him to lash out at him, as any frightened, cornered creature would, but apparently that thought hadn’t crossed the fairy’s mind until a burst of flame was heading straight towards him. If it hadn’t been for his quick reflexes, there probably would’ve been a lot more damage than a smoldering couch.
The next twenty minutes were filled with lots of angry, chaotic shouting and desperate attempts to placate the dragon hybrid, but eventually they managed to get him calm enough for them to explain what had happened.
The boy, whose name was Jungkook, was a lot more cooperative after they told him about how they had basically saved his life. Despite how grateful he was however, he still wanted to leave. Usually that wouldn’t be a problem but he still wasn’t fully healed and Hobi didn’t want him wandering into trouble again before he was all better. It took some coercing, but eventually they convinced him to stay.
Even though Jungkook was reluctant to stay at first, he never ended up leaving. The first week was kind of awkward, with Jungkook constantly keeping his guard up and not really initiating any conversations with the others. But over time he began to relax and open up, showing his more cheerful and mischievous side.
Jungkook’s caution going away was mostly thanks to Tae. After Jungkook almost set him on fire, the fairy apologized for scaring the boy and set to work becoming his friend. It was a difficult task, and Tae almost got blasted with fire a few more times before Jungkook finally started interacting with him in a more friendly manner. Eventually the two grew close enough for Jungkook to share more about his past. Specifically, the event that had led him to his current home.
His story wasn’t all that different from Namjoon’s in it’s basic elements. He had been alone, wandering through the city, when someone mistook him for someone else and beat him to the edge of death, only to be saved when Hobi came to the rescue. However, instead of a gang of werewolves, Jungkook had been attacked by a group of religious fanatics that had seen his horns and wings and figured he must have been a demon. They responded with what they considered a “reasonable” reaction, which was grabbing whatever weapons they could, following him until he was alone, and then proceeding to try and kill the “demon.”
It sadly wasn’t the first time something like this had happened to the boy, but it was the closest he had come to actually dying. When he had woken up with six people he didn’t know staring at him, he assumed they were either going to finish the job or use him in some strange ritual. What he hadn’t been expecting was to end up finding a home with them.
Jungkook moved into Jimin and Tae’s room, and things went back to normal. But they had to wonder just how long it would be before they ended up with another member of their family, since apparently they had created a refuge for lost supernaturals that drew magical creatures in need to their home like moths to a flame. They wouldn’t have had it any other way though.
When it came time for Y/n to share her past, she found herself lacking the words to tell him. It’s not that she didn’t want to tell Tae, she trusted him and she wanted to repay the trust he had placed in her when he shared his story by sharing her own, but she just couldn’t figure out how to say most of it. She did her best though, and told him what she could.
Y/n told him about her mother, who had always been more wolf than woman. She told him about how her mother had tried to teach her about all the cultures of the creatures she could turn into, wanting her daughter to have as much knowledge on how to communicate and how to act with different species. Though her intentions were good, her attempt to make sure Y/n knew everything left her a jack of all trades but a master of none. The sum of her knowledge of different societies was probably greater than all the boys combined, but since she was missing a lot of information about specific species, she was often confused and had trouble completely fitting in.
Her mother had always been a proud woman, and refused to let anyone make her feel bad about being a shapeshifter. As much as Y/n had wanted to imitate that confidence, the looks she’d get if she transformed in public, the whispers of teachers when they thought she couldn’t hear them, and the cold shoulders from the kids at school all made her feel like being a shapeshifter was something she had to hide. She kept it a secret when she could, and when she couldn’t, more often than not whoever found out would just prove why she had hidden it in the first place.
The exception to this rule was her old best friend, a harpy who talked more than she listened, but still listened to Y/n more than anyone had before. She thought Y/n’s powers were pretty cool, but was mostly just glad she had someone that could fly with her. Taehyung laughed as she told him about the time they had managed to dump out huge buckets of ice water on a group of particularly mean classmates and flew out of sight fast enough that they didn’t get in trouble. She didn’t tell him about the argument they had the day before her friend was going to move across the country, or how Y/n had never gotten the chance to apologize.
Middle school sucked. High school sucked even more. High school was pretty okay at first, the kids didn’t seem to care as much as in middle school. They were all too involved in their own schoolwork and relationships to care about some quiet kid who wasn’t even in class half the time. Despite being absent more often than not, she still did well in her classes, studying at home when her mom wasn’t giving her culture lessons. Keeping her in class probably would have taught her more about human society than her mother could, but Y/n didn’t complain. She liked being home a lot more. Her first two years of high school went way better than all of middle school and she found herself getting hopeful for her future.
Junior year her mom got sick. Senior year came and she wasn’t any better. Another year passed before the sickness became too much for her. Y/n was thankful she had at least gotten as much time with her mother as she did.
After the funeral, she spent a year trying to fit in with the human world. Job after job escaped her, and night after night was spent without a roof over her head. She had lost her childhood home not long after her mother passed, any money she had going to funeral costs or food. Eventually, she got tired of cold streets and colder humans, and retreated into the forest.
The animals were more tolerant of her than the humans had been, but still weren’t completely accepting. She spent some time in herds and packs, but mostly wandered on her own, just trying to survive a little bit longer. She missed being human, and would sometimes change back just to feel at home in her body for a little while longer. But living as a creature of the forest was what had been working best for her, so she always changed back.
She probably would have lived in the woods indefinitely, but fate had different plans for her. Y/n had been wandering through a field as a deer, the beautiful full moon pulling for her attention and distracting her from the lone wolf creeping up behind her. The fight didn’t last long and she managed to escape with a swift kick to the wolf’s head, but she didn’t make it out unscathed. Her leg was a mess of flesh and blood, impossible to walk on and vulnerable to infection. She knew she wouldn’t last two weeks like this. Upset that her only successful lifestyle had failed and desperate for help, Y/n came up with a plan.
“And well, you know the rest,” she said, wiping away the rest of the tears that had come unbidden while she was telling her story.
Taehyung pulled her into another hug and she fought the urge to cry again. She wasn't used to being comforted like this, or really any sort of physical affection, but it was a very pleasant experience, if not a little overwhelming. “Thank you for trusting me enough to tell me all this, Y/n,” he said, and this time she did cry as she heard her name used for the first time in more than a year.
“It’s the least I could do, I mean you trusted me enough to tell me about your past,” she pointed out. Tae released her from his hug, but she rested her head on his shoulder, closing her eyes. It had been an emotionally exhausting day and she was really ready for it to be over. Granted, she was happier than she had been in a long time and was extremely glad she had confessed to Tae, but at that moment she really just wanted to go to bed. Maybe she could just take a quick nap and-
Before she could finish her thought,Y/n heard the front door open and her eyes shot open just in time to watch Namjoon walk inside, followed by the rest of the members of the house. It was a few seconds before he noticed her sitting there, and his eyes widened in surprise as he looked at her, and then Taehyung.
“Tae, who’s this?”

Jimin Reaction To You Confessing While Drunk [Angst, Smut and Fluff Versions!]

The Confession
It was time for a much deserved night out with Jimin and some of the others, and you agreed to meet for pre-drinks to save on cash. Plus, it had been a while for you all since you’d gone out properly like this, so it was the ideal opportunity to settle into the whole social thing...
Let’s cut to the chase and just say you got a little bit too carried away pre-drinking through all the chatting, not quite realizing just how many vodka and lemonades you’ve had over the past hour.
It gets to this one conversation about old crushes, rating people out of 10, etc, etc, and your true feelings just come out, word after word; you can’t help yourself or stop yourself to think about what you’re doing.
“I always thought Jimin was really nice...” you tell the boys, then turning to look at Jimin affectionately. “He’s got a kind personality and looks to match... Great jaw line and cheek bones by the way... I love you Jimin...”
Angst
Jimin nervously chuckles at your words, “Hahahaha we love you too, y/n,” hoping that somehow you’ve managed to become much more drunk than he or the others... Perhaps you didn’t eat before meeting?
“N-no Jiminie... I said I love you, not them...” you tell him matter-of-factly, to which Namjoon huffs ‘Charming!’ in jest, and Taehyung holds his hand to his heart, causing Seokjin to laugh like wind-screen wipers.
This is concerning Jimin as you repeat that word, ‘love’, and he really hopes it’s the drink talking and making you extra affectionate or something... Anxiously, he plays along with the boys’ joking in the background, hoping to ease the tension he’s feeling “Awh, come on y/n, you’re breaking poor Taehyungie’s heart!” he giggles, placing a hand on your shoulder.
You place one of your shaky hands over the one Jimin has placed on your shoulder, and without needing to say anything, he can confirm you’re deadly serious just by the look in your eyes. He backs away and looks up to the first person he can make eye contact with to send a signal for help.
What is he supposed to say? You’re a great person, but he’s just never seen you as anything more than as a friend. If he doesn’t say anything at all, it’s gonna hurt, but if he speaks up, he’s gonna hurt you... There’s no win in this...
Fortunately, Namjoon catches on to the awkward vibe and insists you all head out to party now. As everyone is making their way out, Jimin looks at you and simply says “Come on, let’s have some fun tonight... Save being serious for tomorrow.”
but he hopes that you don’t mean what you said, and he hopes you forget about what just happened because he doesn’t want to face that kind of angst; it feels unnecessary.

Angst-Smut
It’s a bit of a dead night in the club, you guys unable to choose an ordinarily lively night due to your schedules. The place just isn’t crowded enough to be able to dance against people and make moves without people directly hearing ...
If Jimin hates one thing when going out like this or through any endeavours at all, it’s rejection. He hates the feeling he gets when someone doesn’t find him good enough... and then just thinking about that makes him think about you confessing to him earlier.
‘Poor y/n’ he thinks, really realizing how his response must have made you feel earlier. You seem fine now, dancing silly on the floor, but he knows you’re not really. You’re laughing extra loud at Seokjin’s dad jokes, and making up silly moves to make the others laugh, as though you’re over compensating.
The thought crosses his mind: you definitely wouldn’t reject him. AS bad as it sounds, he’s gone with blue balls for way too long now with his busy life, and... Well he knows you’re attractive, and you’re just there...
No, he shouldn’t.
Just have another drink, Jimin.
The next morning, he’s almost horrified when he finds that he’s woken up in a bed that isn’t his own...
“Oh crap!” he mumbles, burying his head in the sheets.
“I know...” you reply at the door, causing him to peak behind the covers, unknowing what expression to have on his face...
But wait, why are you agreeing with him?
“...This is a mess...” you continue. “I’m so sorry, I never should have said anything last night, and I certainly never should have gone through with...”
“I just don’t want to hurt my friend” he whimpers a tad.
Your heart drops at the use of the word ‘friend’ but you try to keep up the strong appearance.
“For the record... It was really good” you mention, raising your eyebrows suggestively before walking back out to the kitchen.
And then a figment of memory comes to him; you’re laid on the bed begging for his touch as he takes forever to undo his belt... Fuck you were beautiful... He get’s hard just thinking about it, but slides bad under the covers to try and sleep it off, hoping the guilt will just go away.
I don’t want to have been that jerk that slept with the girl that confessed to him who he didn’t love back...
Tumblr media
Fluff
‘Does she really think that about me?’ he wonders as you tell Jimin just some of the things you love about him, followed by those three words... but aish... did you really have to choose to confess in front of the others?... No wait, what if it’s just the drink making you like this... He has to know.
“Um guys, I think y/n might have had a few too many... So you guys go on without us and we’ll meet you in a while, yeah?” Although Jimin says this with a questioning tone, the boys can tell that it’s more of a demand. And why wouldn’t they give you two the space you needed? He blushes every time you so much as walk past him, and he thinks they haven’t seen him grinning like an idiot at his phone at like 90% of your texts to him, but he thinks wrong...
He gives it a few moments to be sure that the boys have definitely left and aren’t listening through the door before continuing the conversation with you.
“Um, y/n... You’ve had quite a few drinks, are you sure... Are you sure you know what you’re telling me?... No wait, I didn’t mean that to imply you don’t know your own mind, I’m just trying to say...”
Jimin can’t finish his sentence because he doesn’t even know where his words are going. You’ve made him too flustered with your confession and it’s almost unbelievable that you just told him you love him. But he manages to utter more words --
“Sorry, let me start again. Look, it’d be nice if you really did like me too, but I’m just concerned that you might not be so sure...”
“I’ve liked you for ages Jimin, as more than a friend” you admit. “How could one not fall for a guy like you?”
“That’s sweet of you to say, but...”
“See? You’re always so modest to... I...”
Jimin doesn’t know where this sudden confidence comes from, [probably the possibility of you falling for him being more definite now,] but he interrupts you “Forgive me if I’m reading this wrong.”
And he initiates your first kiss.

Fluff-Smut
You guys never catch up with the others as Jimin promised. Instead, it’s unspoken but, you want to spend time together, just the two of you, so you carry on casually drinking and talking the night away, only now more intimate with each other.
Jimin has his arm around your waist on the couch, barely able to let you out of his hold, and you’re both just generally very cosy as you recall memories, tell each other stories, and so on.
When one thing begins to lead to another, it’s not so much because either of you are just looking to fuck, but it’s the love you feel for each other that is the biggest turn on. It doesn’t matter where you are, Namjoon’s couch it just matters that you’re here together and the moment is right.
The sex with Jimin is actually really sweet; he asks you if you’re okay just to make sure you’re feeling alright, and sometimes he just stops kissing your thighs or your breasts just to go back and kiss your lips again. He worships your body and makes time for you before getting to reach his own high.
He’s so in love with you, so as lame as it might sound, he’s going to give you the best eating out he’s ever given to anyone, and he’s going to produce the most arousing sounds as he breathes heavily near your ear... he’s not trying to hard but he’s making sure the experience is equally amazing for the both of you and is the first time of a lifetime together.
Namjoon comes back to his house just as Jimin is putting his trousers back on and you’re just about fully clothed, and he walks in on the scene like “seriously guys?” but he doesn’t mind, not really. He offers for you two to just crash at his whilst you’re here and you accept, continuing to cuddle and talk the night away, and again, it doesn’t matter that neither of you actually get to sleep because you couldn’t ask for better company.

Basically, you can request a period of time where you don’t feed and they respect it.
“Really? Well, I’ve always thought about botany but I never really knew much about it.
Working out has really lightened him up a little bit,” The trainer says, watching Jungkook run up to them when he caught Namjoon’s eye.
He has no idea what Jungkook is going through. But if there’s one thing for sure, he might be mellowing out.
