Good luck tonight! Hopefully it won't rain, because those clouds look so bad… (📸) Also look at the sea. Back home it doesn't get like this  (📸) The food here is just 🤤 (📸) You have fans who aren't teenagers 😱 (📸) I wonder if they'll think I'm one too (📸)
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"And?"
"Nothing yet" I sigh. "This was a good idea, right?"
"It was" Emma says, giving my hand an encouraging squeeze. "Traveling to the other side of the country to watch him play is so romantic!"
"I don't care if it is romantic or not. I just want to explain everything to him and for things to go back to the way they were."
"Who would have thought you would end up missing a teenager's dick, uh?" she laughs.
"I should have brought Silvia with me" I reply, rolling my eyes.
"But sadly, she's too busy with Pau finally being back, so you'll have to deal with me" she smiles.
It's been a month since that stupid engagement party, since Pedri and I had that argument, since I last saw him in person. And I've felt like shit every single day.
I should have been honest with him. I should have opened myself to him, share all my fears. But I couldn't. I was too much of a coward, and because of it, I may have lost the person who managed to finally make me close a chapter of my life. The person that gave me what I needed to finally let go.
But I'm ready now. I'm ready to tell him everything. And that's why Emma and I are here, though her first plan was a bit stalkery.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"I just sent him a good luck message before the game and he has left me as read. Again" I sigh.
"At least you know he hasn't blocked you."
"Yeah, I guess. But I can't keep living this, I have to do something."
"Why don't you just show up at his house and don't leave until he listens to you?"
"I can't do that, Emma. He'll end up calling the police."
"Then why don't you go watch him play at the Camp Nou? Maybe his friends can help you corner him somewhere so you can talk."
"That isn't such a bad idea, you know… Though they are going on international break after tonight's game."
"Then let's go watch him play with Spain! You could even wear his shirt, I'm sure he would like that. You aren't allergic to that one, are you?"
"I'm not, no" I laugh. "But I don't know where they are playing and when. And there may not be tickets left."
"Then let's find out" she says, taking out her phone and starting to type.
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
A couple of hours after that conversation, and mostly thanks to Ferran, we had it all ready. We would be spending the weekend in La Coruña, a city in the West of Spain where the national team is playing, and where, hopefully, I will find a way to convince Pedri to let me explain myself.
"Is it him?" Emma asks when my phone buzzes.
"Oh my God" I gasp. "It's him, he has replied!" I say, my hand shaking.
"What does he say?"
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
Tumblr media
Val, what is all that?
Are those photos real?
Yep
Are you here?
In La Coruña?
And wearing my shirt? 😳
I am
Wait a second
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"Emma, he's facetiming me."
"Then pick up!"
"How do I look?"
"For the love of God, Valeria. Who cares? Pick up!"
"Ok" I say, taking a deep breath. "Hello" I smile.
"Show me around."
"What?"
"Show me around, Valeria."
"Don't need to be so rude, Pedro" I say, moving so he can see where I am. Emma and I had sat down on a bench not too far away from the stadium to kill time until we can go inside.
"You are here. You… Why?"
"Well, Emma and I had a free weekend and wanted to disconnect from the kids, we saw an ad about the game, we had never been to La Coruña, and we said, why not?" I shrug.
"Let's go disconnect from the kids by watching other kids play" Pedri chuckles.
"Asensio isn't a kid."
"Then why are you wearing my shirt?" he asks, arching an eyebrow.
"It was the only one left in the shop" I shrug again.
"Sure" he laughs.
"It was yours or Morata's, and you know how I feel about him."
"I do, yes" he laughs again. God, I had missed hearing him laugh. "Anyway, I gotta go, we are leaving the hotel now."
"Ok."
"Thank you for coming to the game."
"Of course" I smile. But he doesn't. He's gone serious again.
"Bye, Valeria."
"Bye" I say before he hangs up.
"That went well, didn't it?" Emma says.
"Did it?" I sigh.
"It did! You had a little moment there, so there still is hope."
"I guess, but he kept calling me Valeria and… Wait" I say when my phone buzzes again.

Don't forget to send me your good luck text.
It is the last thing I always read before warm up
I won't. I promise 😊
❤️
━━━━━━❃━━━━━━
"See? There still is hope!" Emma says, grabbing my arm and squeezing it. She's actually hurting me, but I don't care.
Because there still is hope.

Summary: The reader begins her first day as Romans' new assistant.
"Now I don't want you to feel nervous, okay?" Paul walks at your side through the backstage area. "Roman and I have talked extensively, and we agree that you're the best for the job." He assures you.
"I'm fine, Paul." You smile at him. "Honestly, you act like he's a god or something."
Paul narrows his eyes at your confidence, knowing that it's risky. But he does nothing to stop your progress down the hall. Roman and Paul went through a stack of resumes knee high before Paul recommended you for this new assistant job. He had high hopes that your spunky attitude and resilience would prove to be a good thing. Figuring that it meant you wouldn't fold under the pressure of being in Roman's inner circle. But your overconfidence might just be your downfall.
"Just...let me do the talking when we get there. Okay?" Paul asks you.
You nod, not wanting to give him a heart attack on your first day on the job. Paul's always been there to give you tips and pointers in your career. And now he's getting you this job with the wrestling words biggest star.
You and Paul arrive to the Bloodline's locker room and Paul heads in first. You follow silently after him and shut the door behind you. The Uso twins, Solo, and Roman all turn their heads at the sound of the door shutting.
"My Tribal Chief!" Paul makes a B-line for Roman. "How are you today? I've brought your new assistant with me. Y/N, come over here and introduce yourself." He beckons you over to his side.
"Right." You nod and head over to Paul's side. "Roman, it's a pleasure to be working with you." You hold your head high and offer your hand for a handshake.
Roman stares you down, sizing you up. But you don't blink under his gaze. "For me." He corrects you.
"I'm sorry?" You falter upon hearing his reply.
"You work for me. Not with me." Roman clarifies. "Don't forget that."
"Oh." You nod. "Right. It's a pleasure to be working for  you my Tribal Chief." You correct yourself.
Out of the corner of your eye, you can see Jimmy and Jey whispering with one another about you. Solo is standing next to them, his arms crossed over his chest. The younger brother wears a scowl on his face, but thankfully it doesn't seem to be directed at you.
Paul gives you a small nudge and you instinctively step out of the way. Roman strides past you with his head held high and an aura of superiority about him. You fall silently into place at his side with Paul, and everyone files out of the locker room.
"Umm, Paul." You whisper to Heyman as everyone exits the locker room. "Where are we going?" You ask him.
"We go where Roman goes," Paul whispers back. "Just follow along and look important for the camera." He adds.
You nod and fall back into silence. Roman continues until eventually he's headed out to the ring. You follow Paul down the ramp and out to the ring. Roman climbs the stairs and slips into the ring, followed by Paul and then the twins. You hang back and stare at the ring ropes at the top of the stairs. The length of your dress makes it impossible to get past the ropes without inadvertently flashing someone.
Paul locks eyes with you from Roman's side when he realizes that you aren't at his side anymore. You stare back at him, unsure of what you should do now. Thankfully, a large hand sets on the back of your shoulder. You glance behind you and find Solo standing just behind you.
"Here, let me." Sikoa slips past you and parts the ring ropes for you.
"Thanks." You give him a thankful nod and get into the ring without incident.
Now in the ring, you head straight for Paul without another word. Then, with everyone now in the ring, Roman starts his speech.
The speech lasts around 5 minutes before Cody Rhodes interrupts. You watch Cody come down the ramp, unsure of what you should do now. You turn to ask Paul what you should be doing but find him gone when you turn.
"Crap." You glance around for Paul and spot him already outside of the ring. "Paul!" You grumble to yourself.
"You might want to invest in some more practical clothes next time." Solo appears at your side again to the rescue.
You bite the inside of your cheek, kicking yourself for not thinking about that earlier. "Right, I'll keep that in mind." You nod. "So much for wanting to make a good impression on my first day, right?" You laugh at yourself.
"You're doing just fine," Solo replies and parts the ring ropes for you again.
You step out onto the ring apron and Solo joins you. He hops down to the floor with ease then turns and helps you down. "Thanks." You thank him again.
Solo nods and heads back into the ring to help Roman and his brothers. Paul hurries over to your side and begins berating you.
"Y/N! You need to pay more attention!" Paul warns you. "Roman won't tolerate that type of incompetence."
"Right, sorry." You nod.
Roman, the twins, and Solo handle business with Cody. Paul rushes you back over to their side and everyone heads backstage again. Roman stops when everyone gets backstage and turns to you. "Y/N." Roman beckons you to his side.
"Yes, my Tribal Chief?" You hurry over to his side. "What can I do for you?" You ask him.
"I want you to find that stooge Adam Pearce and ask him why he thinks it's okay to let Cody Rhodes run wild on my show?" Roman informs you.
You nod and take a small step back from Roman's booming voice. He gazes down at you and waits for you to leave. But you remain in place. Paul hasn't shown you around the backstage area yet. So you've got nowhere to go.
It takes a moment, but Roman seems to get the hint. "Let me guess, Paul hasn't bothered to show you around yet?" He asks you before glaring at Paul over your shoulder. You nod and Roman lets out a heavy sigh. "Solo!" He points a finger at Sikoa. "Show Y/N here where everything is backstage. And make sure she shows some backbone with Pearce. I don't need anyone weak working for me. I've already got Paul for that."
"I'll handle it." Solo nods.
You walk over to Solo's side and the two of you walk off. As you round the corner you can vaguely hear Roman scolding Paul for not bothering to show you around before your first day.
"Don't worry about that," Solo speaks up when he notices the look on your face.
"You sure?" You joke. "He sounds kind of pissed off. Maybe he doesn't like me as much as Pual is letting on." You tell yourself.
Solo lets out a small chuckle, which surprises you. You glance at him and he flashes a small genuine smile at you. "He likes you, trust me." He assures you. "If he didn't then you wouldn't have made it past the locker room door."
"Really?" You reply. "Well, that's a relief then I guess." You laugh to yourself. "What about your brothers?"
"They like you too," Solo replies. "So do I." He adds.
You stop walking and turn to face your impromptu tour guide. "I kind of figured." You giggle. "You know, Paul told me that you're supposed to be the stoic unfeeling one. You know, give me the cold shoulder and act uninterested?"
"Only with the people that I don't like," Solo replies. "And like I said, I like you." He reminds you.
"Well, maybe I like you too." You giggle. "This version of you anyways. So I guess that I'm lucky I'll be spending a lot of time with you in the future." You flash a cheeky grin at him.
Solo chuckles and shakes his head. "Alright, come on spunky." He teases you. "Let's finish the tour so I can see you give 'ol Pearce a piece of your mind."

TWP word of the day prompt: Apology
Another double fill- today’s TWP word and “trapped in an elevator” from my @911bingo.
The one in which circumstances make TK formally apologize to Carlos for bringing Lou home.  Thanks to @noxsoulmate for letting me talk this one out and figuring out how to finish it.  I mean, we planned this weeks ago and I’m just getting around to finishing it, but I’m still within both deadlines!
💜💜💜💜
“Thanks for coming with me, babe.” TK presses the button for the elevator with one hand, and Lou, tucked safely in a plastic container, is in TK’s other hand.  Carlos sighs and takes a step back, away from the offending lizard.
“Did you have to make the holes so big?” Carlos asks.
TK laughs. “He needs air!”
“And mealworms,” Carlos rolls his eyes.
“Got those too!” TK pats his pocket. “He’ll get a feast before we set him free.”
“At least they’re not in my kitchen anymore,” Carlos mutters.
The elevator doors open, and TK steps inside.  Carlos debates on taking the stairs; he needs his cardio for today anyway (anything to keep him away from the lizard) but sighs again and joins his boyfriend in the elevator.  If he stands a little too far over to the side, he’s grateful that TK pretends not to notice.  He’s holding the container up to eye level and taps at the side.
“That lid is on tight, right?” Carlos asks.  “So if you drop it or something, it’s not going to pop off for him to run away?”
“Why would I drop-” The elevator goes dark as it jolts to a stop. Carlos grabs the bar to steady himself and reaches for TK with the other hand.
“Are you okay?” TK asks.
Carlos nods, although he knows TK can’t see him in the dark car. “What just happened?” Carlos asks.
TK grabs his phone out of his pocket and turns on the flashlight. “I think the power is out.”
“The what is what?” If there’s anything that makes him feel safer in this predicament, it’s that his boyfriend used to be a firefighter. If there’s anything that makes him feel less than safe, it’s the flesh-eating reptile in his boyfriend’s hand.
He watches as TK presses at some of the buttons, and none light up.  He hits the emergency call button and nothing happens.
“What do we do?”
“Have a seat. We’ll probably be waiting here a while.” TK shuts off the flashlight and presses a few buttons. “I’ll call it in.”
“Have a seat?”
“I’ll call it in,” TK repeats. “But we’re not going to be high on the priority list. The power will come back on soon. I hope.”
“Not high on- the Fire Captain’s son isn’t high on a priority list?”
“Carlos, relax. I didn’t say they wouldn’t come.”
Carlos eases himself onto the dirty floor and leans against the wall.  TK paces around the small space while he talks to the 911 operator, giving them their address and details and what floors he thinks they’re stuck between.
He and Carlos compare the percentage of battery left on their phones, and then TK joins Carlos on the floor, bumping their shoulders together and setting the container on his lap.
“Hey, could you, like, scoot the lizard over there?” Carlos asks.
“What?”
“The lizard. Over there. Away from me. Please?”
“Okay,” TK turns on his flashlight and sets Lou on the floor. Carlos shudders and watches as TK puts his hand on top of the container and slides him to the corner, as far from Carlos as he can be.
“Is that better?” TK asks with a hint of amusement in his voice.
“It’s looking at me,” Carlos says.
TK makes an exaggerated point to press the button on his phone, and the elevator is immediately bathed in darkness. “Better?”
“I’m not sure.”
They sit for a while in silence. “Why do you hate him?”
“Hmmm?”
“Lou,” TK says. “You seem to really hate him. Why?”
Carlos sighs. “I was the butt of a joke that was funny to everyone except me, apparently.”   TK is silent for a moment, and Carlos continues. “I was camping with some kids in my class. We were…junior high, so 13 or 14? Anyway, someone had beer.  I wasn’t gonna rat them out, but I didn't want to drink with them, so I just went to bed early,” Carlos pauses, grateful for the darkness. “I woke up a while later when something crawled across my face.  They had thrown some lizards in my tent.”
TK lets out a horrified gasp. “Kids that age are terrible,” he murmurs. Carlos can hear movement coming from beside him, and then TK says, “I’m gonna grab your hand.” Carlos snorts, but he’s thankful for the warning; he probably would have jumped out of his skin if TK’s hand had brushed his.
“No one wants the cop’s kid hanging around at that age,” Carlos says. “I get it. But-”
“It was a cruel thing to do,” TK finishes. “I’m sorry, Carlos.”
“It is what it is. I mean, I’m sure I participated in a practical joke or two when I was young, but this was different.”
“I’m sorry I brought Lou home without checking with you first,” TK says softly. “But, Carlos, I really wish you had told me sooner. You can tell me anything.”
“I know; I’m sorry. I thought he’d be okay in the tank.”
“And then he got loose.”
“And then he got loose,” Carlos echoes. TK squeezes his hand and rests his head on Carlos’ shoulder.
The lights flicker and stay on, and the elevator begins descending again. “Oh, thank god,” Carlos mutters. They both stand up and TK wraps his arms around Carlos, burying his face in Carlos’ neck.
“I am really sorry,” TK says. “I promise not to bring any more animals into the loft without checking with you first.”
“Thank you. I appreciate that.”
The doors open and Carlos steps out, happy to be on the ground again.  TK picks Lou up and pauses outside the elevator.  “You don’t have to come with us. You can go back up to the apartment and Lou and I can catch an Uber to the Greenbelt.”
Carlos pouts and rolls his eyes. “Are you kidding? I want to go and make sure the little bugger doesn’t follow you home.”
They wander toward the Camaro hand-in-hand. “You know, I don’t think his sense of direction is that good.”
Carlos snorts. “I don’t know about that. He really liked your desk lamp.”
