POST MORE SWORD OF FATE PLS IM BEGGING

i have very little in terms of actual art LMAO but i CAN explain the sword thing because i checked and i did in fact never make this plot point public. i struggled for a while with creating a villain for this story until i realized that. i put "sword" in the title of the game. of course it has to be about the fucking sword. DUH.

so i want SOF to deal very heavily with religion, specifically the way in which hyrule's religion forms post-sksw but pre-reincarnation. i've placed it on the timeline directly after sksw, making it the first actual reincarnation in hyrule. what this means is that there's no actual proof yet that the reincarnation thing is real and not just an insane bluff on demise's part, and so several key characters including link and zelda barely believe in hylia or demise at all when the story starts. my thought with this setting's version of ganon is that he's the polar opposite of the nonbelievers. The gerudo don't really exist as of now, but he DOES come from the desert region of hyrule--specifically, he was raised in a cultlike offshoot of the sheikah religion which interpreted the hylia/demise myth completely literally and believes that a doomsday is coming, heralded by the foretold return of demise. Because of this, he knows more about the cycle and how to set it in motion than basically any other character. Crucially, he and his people are some of the only ones at this point aware of the existence of the master sword.

ganon finds. a sword. a sword which he THINKS is the master sword. and this theory is only reinforced when the sword begins to speak to him about his destiny and the salvation of hyrule. unfortunately it is not the master sword and he ends up basically a pawn in the greater plans of what's left of demise & ghirahim within that sword, manipulated into attempting to revive demise and destroy the reincarnated hero and princess. he remains in denial until basically the very end of the final battle, completely convinced that he is the true savior of hyrule and LINK is the one being misled. ghirahim is a very good manipulator lol

What is your opinion on clinical lycanthropes being in/interacting with otherkin spaces?

(Sorry for the delay on this.)

I mean... honestly, I don't have much of an opinion beyond the "if someone isn't hurting anyone, leave them alone" principle and the fact that I don't restrict the definition of "otherkin" based on the reason for someone's nonhuman identity.

(...I said that, and then I wrote several paragraphs expanding on that opinion, but it does boil down to that, I promise. :P)

I see very few potential problems that can be caused by delusion-based and non-delusion-based nonhuman identities interacting with each other, and most of them - confusion between "delusion" and "belief," risk of encouraging harmful delusions, etc. - are already kept in mind and addressed by basically all the endels and clinical lycanthropes I've met. Generally speaking, no one knows how to handle delusions better than the people who experience delusions.

The concerns I've seen people raise are largely problems with individual people, not problems to warrant trying to shun an entire group of people for the crime of having a disorder or anything. (And, frankly, a lot of them are concerns that apply just as easily to nonhumans who aren't clinical lycanthropes but go "off the deep end," as it were, with spirituality and magical/astral explanations for everything.)

Is a nonhuman identity that's affected by or even based in clinical lycanthropy the same as your average otherkin experience? No. But then, what is the "average" otherkin experience exactly? There's already an enormously broad range of experience under the term "otherkin" - people with one kintype or two or twelve or thirty, people who shift on a near-daily basis or never shift or are always shifted, people who are animals down to the bone with all the unpleasant and gross instincts to accompany and people who are part of a civilization more civilized and enlightened than humanity has ever been, people whose nonhumanity stems from past lives or psychological quirks or misplaced souls or unconscious imprinting or coping mechanisms, etc. etc.

The common thread among us all is nonhuman identity - and if that's present enough in someone who experiences clinical lycanthropy to make them feel comfortable in and connected to the otherkin community, then who am I to tell them they're not permitted because their reason for that identity and the precise experiences tied to it for them are different from mine, when that's already the case for so many people in our community?

Sumeru 3.2 Archon Quest "Bad Writing" and its ties to Incarnation-Samsara:

Obviously, spoilers. I just wanted to rant about the quest due to how brilliant the writing was, and how it majestically ties in with the incarnation-new samsara thing.

Many things about the archon quest that seemed weird or looked like bad writing are either outright explained, or is in relation to the archon quest so I wanted to break them down one by one based on the confusion.

The allusions to past characters/important figures

You've heard the reincarnation theory/parallels so many times by now regarding Alhaitham being the Scarlet King, Nilou with the Goddess of Flowers, Cyno and Kasala, right? While the appropriate term at this point is incarnation, a lot of the story had subtle nods to this logic.

The fact that Alhaitham and Cyno finally sat next to each other and worked together during the meeting points to Kasala and his eternal lord is one of them, but there's a lot of them as we go since there's more to them. But for now, keep in mind the following parallels of the current samsara:

Alhaitham as the Scarlet King

Cyno as Kasala

Nilou as the Goddess of Flowers

Dehya as the Lord of the Forest

Tighnari representing the Valuka Shuna

Nahida as Greater Lord Rukkhadevata

Traveler as the First Sage

Traveler as the First Sage of Buer and the story of the First Sage

I'm just going with the quickest first, as well as to gush over the writing of the archon quest. At first, it was chilling how Traveler was considered as Nahida's first sage, like a hero title.

But if you remember the story of the First Sage, the sage woke up from a dream after learning all the wisdom and knowledge he learned from the God of Wisdom which he then used to 'build' the Akademiya.

The fact that the whole sequence with Scaramouche was looped like a dream, and was defeated using the accumulated wisdom from all the loops was a really cool nod to the First Sage's story.

Dehya and Tighnari's meet-up

Many have been so confused why Tighnari wasn't given the details of the plan when we met him with Dehya, while I was confused why it was Dehya SPECIFICALLY that went there with us.

It's not like Cyno's entirely busy with the Eremites, and he wasn't particularly laying low to not accompany us to join Tighnari. So why didn't Hoyoverse switch Dehya and Cyno's roles around too?

Well first of all, the simplest way to answer the first question is quite easy: Because he didn't need to be. Tighnari wasn't part of the plan in the first place so there's no point sitting him down for something he has no participation or influence in.

Second, it was most likely Cyno's measure to make sure Tighnari isn't more of a collateral damage than he already is. Cyno never risked disclosing his whereabouts or his findings regarding his exile with Tighnari either, and telling him such important information would just put him in unnecessary harm.

Now for Dehya and Tighnari being the characters that met up is most likely a nod to how Dehya might be the Lord of the Forest's incarnation in the current Samsara. You could read about this more by searching Viaghara and its ties with Rishboland Tigers.

Dehya and Tighnari felt like the embodiment of the connection of the lord of the forest and the Valuka Shuna. Also, Tighnari's voiceline about Dehya after the quest is adorable.

The whole Grand Bazaar sequence before Jnagarbha Day

A lot of people kept saying that Nilou was forced into the story and that whole sequence with her joining the rebellion was proof. Even though it was pretty much planned from the start.

It was pretty funny that the others didn't notice Nilou walking close by, but remember that even Cyno didn't realize that someone was eavesdropping on the group back in Aaru Village in Act 4, only Dehya.

In relation to the previous pointer, people are also confused why Nilou was just given the whole plan when Alhaitham doesn't even know her. I can't say for certain if he knows nothing about Nilou prior to the archon quest, however it's obvious that she NEEDS to be informed.

Dehya already made it clear from the get-go that Nilou can be trusted and with Cyno and Alhaitham being there, if they didn't trust Nilou at first sight despite being the best judge of character, they wouldn't have willingly disclosed information. But they did because she also needs to be convinced first and foremost.

They have to inform her that this is for Lesser Lord Kusanali, that this is a huge risk that she needs to undertake, that she's essentially risking not only herself but the theatre for this. Nilou wouldn't take 'hey dance in front of the very organization that wants you gone for shits and giggles', so of course she needs to be fully informed of the plan to understand its importance and get her cooperation.

Alhaitham embodying the Scarlet King

What did confuse me was why Alhaitham was the one who talked to Nilou instead of Dehya, although it was not really mentioned that Dehya would specifically be the one to talk to her. So I feel like this was part of the Alhaitham-Scarlet King agenda.

While it's very subtle and may not even be the main reason, it's kind of a nice nod to the Scarlet King and Goddess of Flowers' collaboration to create their kingdom/oasis thousands of years ago. And here they're making a collaboration to save their friend, the God of Wisdom.

This also works on how Alhaitham was pretty much the first to fall and was never seen in the rest of the plan (you can even see that he was at Caravan Ribat by the time you fight Scaramouche). He used Divine Knowledge (like the King unleashing Forbidden Knowledge) and was the first to sacrifice himself to execute the plan (like the King sacrificing himself way before the death of Rukkhadevata).

The man could have easily clapped the guards' asses and went back to the Akademiya for one last hurrah but he didn't. But I think that's more of his trust on the plan/everyone/luck than anything, and that was really heart-touching.

Cyno's role

Out of everyone, Cyno's words and role by the end of the archon quest confused me the most. Despite being the General Mahamatra, he's now acting like Nahida's right hand man and his line that it was "always his duty to protect her" like - since when and where?!

After all, Cyno only ever cared for Kusanali when it was revealed that she was Rukkhadevata back in act 4, and even his job description didn't really align with what he said. Until of course, we go back to my beloved Kasala.

While Kasala is considered the Scarlet King's Priest, you must remember the important fact that it was Greater Lord Rukkhadevata that erected those temples and basically hired said priests. While it is unclear whether Cyno is related to Kasala as a descendant or not, he seemed to have taken up that sense of responsibility after seeing the Priest's memories.

The most important take in all of this samsara and incarnation is that despite being essentially the same thing, none of them fully share the same fate and those details about them being the possible incarnation in this samsara despite the nuances make much more sense now.

There's still a lot of details found here and there in the archon quest (like how Nahida pretty much already leaked Scaramouche's element and skills, how his name as the Wanderer was already his namesake in the Husk of Opulent Dreams artifact set) but these were the most talked about details that seemingly confused people.

Thank you for coming to my TED talk, this was actually just a disguised rant to fangirl about the archon quest (and the whole of Sumeru's) writing.

*note that I haven't played Nahida's story quest yet, nor did I write this under the guise of shipping. However, my only sadness is that due to the fate thing, the friendship of the Scarlet King, Goddess of Flowers, and Rukkhadevata may not be reflected in the current timeline.

from english ones, I really liked the Bleden Mark & Fatebinder It's A Hundred Thousand Miles Off, Coming Closer Every Day by ialpiriel and Ad Coleum by Nebulad, both short and sweet and dialogue-heavy, which I enjoy

there's absolutely nothing in english that's Killsy-centric which i consider a crime and a personal attack (she's the ideal woman. you may not like it, but that's what female peak performance looks like)

first off i must put here as per the law i am not in fact armchair psychoanalysing mc youtubers grian and mister scott S. major this is me looking at the 3L series as is it were a performance and their actions in said series as characters and blah blah blah so on so forth this is Fanfiction and Shipping and woowoOOwoo We Are Being Sillyyy with a miku song.

i'm gonna infodump abt a bunch of stuff including some heavy topics like emotional abuse and dubcon (NOT in detail the song just has those vibes)

so uh if you're reading this for Some Reason know that 👍

ALRIGHT WITH THAT OUT OF THE WAY Vampire the song itself is (at least my reading of it) a song about a toxic relationship. The singer is very much not a Good Person and the main chorus is just them disregarding their partner's needs and pushing the relationship even further.

But the singer isn't completely irredeemably evil, since they really do love the person they're abusing (in a childish sense of the word love, anyway) and seem to be at least acutely aware of how they're not really a good person.

But of course, they "eh whatever" these self-reflections pretty fast cus they're having fun with the relationship. This specific set of translyrics reads to me like a bit of self-victimizing as well like "oh, I'm so tortured by feeling like a bad person because of the way I treat you. But I love you so you don't really have a choice but to forgive me."

Speaking of translyrics this is where Micchi's version comes in. While I ADORE Rachie and Anthong's version I do have some nitpicks..? And one of those that I am unreasonably pet peeved by is this right here.

In the original JP version, the lyric is simply kimi mo vampire, meaning simply You're (also) a Vampire. It's alot more obvious a change and hits harder imo than "My little Vampire" which still puts the singer in the position of power.

Micchi's version of the lyrics on the other hand stick a lot closer to the original

And I might just be imagining this but there seems to be a switch in the power dynamic in this version as well. The singer is now inviting their partner to be "rough" with them and the repeating mantra of "you're the ONLY ONE for me" sounds more desperate than anything else.

Micchi's lyrics in general are a bit more wet cat coded. I still prefer Rachie's as a whole but Micchi's singer definitely seems to be more regretful of what they've done and blame themselves for essentially turning their partner into a different, more hostile person. (aka turning them into a vampire lol)

In a lot of ways the vampire metaphor is really unsubtle. Bloodsucking parasite attaches themselves to someone and turns them into a bloodsucking parasite as well.

SO HOW THE FUCK DID I GET GRAIN AND SCOOTER FROM THIS WELL.....

When I think about 3L one of the main things that lights up the lightbulb in my mind is the parallels between all of the four "main" partnerships, with Renchantyn vs Desert Duo as the most obvious comparison point but I think they all mirror and subvert each other really well.

Grian/Scott are like birds of a feather to me in a similar sense that Scott/Cleo are, but while Scott and Cleo have this mutual understanding with each other with Grian it's a bit more complicated.

I CAN't. FOR THE LIFE OF ME. FIND IT AGAIN bUT there was a bit in Third Life when Scott said to Grian "and maybe once our husbands are dead we can be free" and Grian laughs and that basically inspired this Whole Thing 🙏🙏

In my own mind Grian and Scott are both somewhat.. manipulative? Might be a bit harsh of a word? But they definitely play to survive more than some of the other people stuck in there with them. (cleo too but she sucks at it and she can get her character analysis essay next week)

At least in my view, their partnerships with Jimmy and Scar respectively were born more out of a need for safety in numbers and to get someone to essentially keep them safe until they're no longer of use. Grian definitely felt bad about creeper-ing Scar in the first episode but I don't think he was quite expecting to spend the whole series in debt to him 😭😭

Scott (like the singer in the song oh my god) isn't really a monster so to speak, just someone who has a messed up view of love. Probably has some sort of tragic backstory that explains the way he is that we'll get to see in the anime adaptation idk. He does care for Jimmy but in like.. the way someone might care for and love a pet. You LOVE your dog to fucking death but you wouldn't like.. trust your dog with taxes or respect its autonomy.

also these lyrics are both hilarious to me considering the uh current brainrot.

Grian on the other hand probably Wants to be like Scott and be able to have someone wrapped around his fingers like that but he can't cus it's Scar not Jimmy and he's Grian and not Scott. I imagine he'd get tired of Scar's shenanigans when he's with him but as soon as he's left the room it's all why's it so quiet D: where's scar D:

I like to think that everytime he THINKS he has a handle on Scar finally and can actually stand a chance to survive this thing Scar does something completely unhinged off the wall and Grian's like WAIT WAIT WAIT NO

basically he gets way too attached and doesn't like it and to make it worse he has no idea wtf is going thru Scar's head👍

SO when they eventually team up I think Scott and Grian would have this little "wink wink nudge nudge they don't know" kinda thing going on.

and then in my little fanfiction world somewhere along the line Scott would end up sensing that Oh, We're actually not exactly the same.. interesting.. and kind of start looking at Grian with this sense of amusement/pity cus aww, look at you getting all attached to the person you were planning to betray, that's so cute and Grian would see the worst of himself reflected back to him via Scott. It ends up strengthening Desert Duo's relationship if anything else.

Of course then Jimmy dies and Scott's emotionally destroyed by it but he's still like.. skirting around it. I'd like to think he gaslights himself with any genuine Emotions he has cus like.. he knew this was coming, this is all according to plan, so why would he feel anything for him now that he's gone?

While Scott gets some time to come to terms with the fact that he actually cared about Jimmy too late for him to repair their relationship Grian and Scar end up punching eachother to death in a cactus ring. The End 👍
