ok has anyone wondered how false and ren got the invite to join mcc. like ik jevin was in mcc1 but the hermit arc truly began in mcc4. and you know how false and ren's whole thing was that they would join together and put down each other's names until mcc17. did scott send invites to both of them. did he send to invites to a bunch of hermits and they had like a discussion on whether to join this mine craft event. were those two in dms like "i'll join if you join" "i'll join if YOU join". did scott send them an email like "hey hermits i've got two slots free choose whoever you like" and false and ren volunteered for tribute. funniest scenario is if scott only sent one of them an email and they were like "i'm only joining with my friend 🥺" and boom [this is not how the waitlist works].

seeing a metaphor abt watcher oversaturation on my dash (the one by @bdoubleowo, it's a little bit too "poking the hornets nest" for me to put on my blog) made me realize something, which is. alright: so watcher oversaturation is like living in a small town where the biggest major food option is fast food.

it all starts when the mcdonalds moves in, right? and you don't think anything of it because hey, their fries are pretty decent. but then all the other chains move in and pretty soon all of the interesting food options are completely choked out. you want to have seafood? sorry, no can do, here's an arby's. you want indian food? haha no, but there's a wendy's and a burger king right next to each other. want a decent cup of coffee? sorry, starbucks is the literal only option. pretty soon, local stores are changing their menus so they can fit the demand; it's all burgers, fries, sandwiches, et cetera.

and it's not like all the places are bad! there's a shake shack that does pretty decent shakes. you've had way better fries since that mcdonald's moved in and you would genuinely recommend this one hole in the wall burger place until you die.

but goddamn, sometimes you just want thai food, and the owner of the first local mcdonalds used a scandal with some kitchen accident in the local thai place to get them completely shut down so they could build a second location there instead, and now the nearest thai place is like half an hour away so it's either drive there (and pass hundreds of fast food restaurants on the way) and hope their food is decent, or give up and settle for grocery mart sushi.

and like. it's fine. a lot of the places make good food. but you're getting kinda sick of burgers and french fries. even the good ones. all you want is a bowl of tom kha gai but hell, you'll settle for ramen that isn't from the grocery store at this point!

you get to the thai food restaurant. it was mislabeled on google maps. it's actually a diner, and they might have a surprisingly good chicken noodle soup, but what they really specialize in is burgers, fries, and shakes.

The current speculation I've seen, besides the folks saying 'it starts when it starts' is that the next season will probably be next month after HC Vaulthunters ends. A lot of folks seem to be grinding pretty hard on that right now, and I can't imagine they want to drop it this close to the end of the 'series' in exchange for the early game grind on the new server. Also I think the big Ski Trip is at the end of this month and I can't see them starting without Grian.

February would fit in with the hint Impulse gave that the general consensus between Hermits was that the last break (which was December to March) was too long.

Oh yeah, of course it's gonna be in February I think. I also think the shorter break is good because iirc it was tougher on smaller hermits because it took out such a big part of their income for a while. Many people (like Grian a lot of times) take January off anyway because of the ad revenue, so even without VH going on February makes the most sense. It's also only two weeks away too.
