that dialogue on the adrestia at the end of the main quest when barnabas asks “so! what's next?” and kassandra answers “we could go hunting ;)” then herodotos deadpans “do i look like the type that can defend myself?” is so important to me. a family 🤲

Herodotos and Barnabas are my favourite, FAVOURITE characters oh I love them so MUCH
I love Barnabas' enthusiasm and optimism, I love Herodotos' encouragement and sincerity, I love that they care so much about the other, no matter how you see their relationship to each other
And I love that together, Kassandra is so loved and cherished 😭❤️

Thanks to those who cast their ballots in my informal poll. The only vote-getters were Aeschylus and Herodotus. Of the two, Aeschylus received more votes, but...I have a confession to make here: I've been tempted for a very long time to sit down and read Herodotus cover to cover. I love him so dang much -- one of the greatest storytellers ever to set pen to papyrus. So, he wins. If time and energy permit, I'll turn to the Oresteia once I've finished the Histories.

Family 💙
Still haven’t finished my chapter but I don’t even care because I have too many feelings about the Boat Dads and their Demigod Daughter and I really like how this turned out.
As always, click to view in decent quality. Maybe you’ll actually be able to see my attempt of giving Herodotos ink stained fingers that way 🤞🏼

Me just minding my business reading a little Greco-Roman short story myth before bed...
"...for he had had sexual intercourse with his wife when she was a corpse."
And that ladies and gentlemen is why you don't consult your murdered wife's shade for the location of hidden loot until after you make the whole female population of your town burn their clothes to atone for you f**king your literal corpse bride... Who you murdered.
This may be the wildest bit of Greek mythology I've ever read

Story time: last school year I completely neglected studying for WW2 test and well, it ended as expected. I got 5 (F). However my history professor is a really good teacher and knows that grades aren't everything. She called me to her office and asked what I want to do when I grow up. I said I want to be an anthropologist/anything that includes biology and human's body. She said that history is going to be pointless for mw to know so she made a deal with me: she's gonna give me a 2 (B) at the end of the year (with my previous grades I would get 4 (D) ) if I draw her a portrait of Herodotos, the father of history. She's making a history classroom and needs decoration and she knows I like to draw and paint. She let it all to me, what canvas I'm gonna use, what technique, what tools, everything. She just needed it done till the next school year, which starts tomorrow.
So, after two months of stressing, procrastinating, practising and painting it is finally done. And I'm so proud of it. It looks way better than I expected, since this is my first time painting a human being.
Here it is
