platonic yandere! Alastor with Violet Evergarden!reader scenario
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Warnings: aged-up! reader [in early to late twenties], ooc, overprotective! Alastor, possessive behavior, implied yandere!vox, stalking, knowledge based on the six episodes of the 2024 season.
There may be possible triggers in this story.
If you do not feel comfortable venturing any further, please hit the 'back' button on your mobile device or computer and read something much more pleasant than a possible series of unfortunate events.
You are responsible for your Internet consumption!
Hey guys, welcome back to another Hazbin Hotel fic, starring Hell's one and only Radio Demon, Alastor and his little darling!
Special thanks to @witch-of-the-writing-desk and @isuckatwritingsobenice for providing criticism and feedback.
As always, bullying is not tolerated here. If you have nothing nice to say, please do not say it. Furthermore, if you believe the warnings listed above will make you uncomfortable, please leave now.
For those who have decided to stay, sit back, relax, and let's see what's going on for tonight's broadcast :)
Tomorrow was your turn for Show and Tell.
According to Charlie’s lesson plan, it is an activity where your interests and stories are shared with a group of people. But you did not know what you could share with everyone.
They know why you are here at the hotel.
They know you were ex-military.
They know you have prosthetic arms after you lost them in the war.
They know you were an Auto Memory Doll for the Lieutenant’s company.
They know many things about you…what is else there to talk about? You had thought long and hard but nothing came to mind. Your Remington typewriter is only used for work. The only ones who would even be remotely interested in its history were Alastor and Sir Pentious. Including your nightgown and tool kit to fix your hands, there is nothing else in the hotel that is under your possession except for a crimson parasol that the Alastor had gifted to you.
That was when you remembered something. A difficult man who lived by a lake. A man who struggled to write his next play until he asked you to take the pale blue parasol and….
You could show them that. However, there is no lake around the Pride Ring. The closest thing to an ocean was in another ring. Nor is there one here at the hotel because it stood on top of a hill. Yet…there is someone who is capable of conjuring something like that with a snap of his fingers. The Radio Demon.
Would he actually hear your request or simply say ‘no’ with a boisterous laugh was another question entirely. Your redemption was on the line here….at this point….you might have to make a deal with him after all. So you sought him out in his radio station in the hotel’s west wing. You had heard from Niffty that he was planning a special show this evening to celebrate his return. When you knocked on the door, he called to see who is the delightful visitor who has come to see him when he is quite busy at the moment.
“It’s me, sir.” You said. “Permission to enter?” You asked. Some habits were difficult to forget, especially when in the presence of a cannibal gentleman, as Vaggie has referred to Alastor. In the nicest way possible.
You only heard silence on the other side of the door. Assuming that he was not in the mood or struck speechless at the absurdity of your idea, you spoke again. “My apologies, Alastor. I didn't mean to disturb you. I will see you at dinner.”
You took a step away from the door, bowing your head. “I wish you good luck with your radio broadcast.” You turned around, grabbing the wrought-iron railing leading back down to the main floor with your gloved hand. You only took one step when the door leading to Alastor’s office swung open. You looked over your shoulder and saw Alastor leaning out of the doorway, wearing a wide grin as his bright red irises locked onto your gaze. “I’m sorry to disturb you,” You began. “I’ll ask Charlie if I could do something else for my Show and Tell presentation -”
“Nonsense, my dear!” He exclaimed. You watched his lanky form dissipate into wispy darkness, slithering across the floor and beneath your feet. Your mouth opened to interject that it was truly all right, but your body was not listening. Instead of leaving the Radio Demon to his work, you walked back up the stairs and straight into Alastor’s office. But you were not in control of your body. It had moved on its own.
The door closed behind you with a loud click, and you were seated on a couch adjacent to what appeared to be the soundboard. A shadow crawling out from the sleek wooden floor and up the golden bear claw of the furniture, twisting and writhing until he appeared by your side. “I didn’t know you could do that.” You said finally.
“Oh, I can do many things, darling~!” He said, leaning forward. “And do not fret over my listeners, they will get their daily dose of perfection as promised~! Now then, how can I help you?”
“I have an idea.” You replied. You then went on to explain what you wanted to do…but you were not sure if it could be pulled off.  You clasped your gloved hands together, squeezing them in your lap. “Please be honest…is it possible for you to do this for me? I am willing to make a deal with you. Not for my soul because it is not worth anything to someone of your caliber as an overlord…but I am willing to do a favor for you.”
He stared at you for a long moment, still smiling as he tilted his head to one side. A high-pitched static noise bounced off of the walls till silence filled the room again.
“In the first place my dear there is no such thing as an unworthy soul, though I could name a few individuals. Certainly not yours. However, I will agree that granting this favor for your soul is asking for too much for something too little. Instead, let’s do a simple deal. Quid pro quo, if you will~! I do this for you, and you will help me as I host my radio show. Bringing me food and water, screening phone calls, the basics. Your choice. And~! Before we agree to this, I must be the one to see this little presentation first. Not even Charlie will see it. It will ruin the fun~!” He held out his hand, green smoke twirling around his gloved fingers. “Do we have a deal?”
You glanced down at his hand, then back at his face before raising your own to your mouth. Tugging the leather glove off your teeth, it fell into your lap. You extended your hand, the dim lights bouncing off of your adamantine skeletal fingers as you gently placed them into his open palm. You looked back at him. “Is this acceptable?” You asked. “Our hands being like this instead of a handshake. I do not want to push any more boundaries or waste your time further.”
Alastor looked down at your hands with a stupefied expression before he hummed, taking your mechanical wrist, holding your hand up and then….folding your hand over his own.
“If you want to make this deal official, both parties must shake hands on it. Finger tapping doesn’t count~!”
You watched the same green smoke from earlier envelop your intertwined hands, shifting into tiny skulls that circled around and around before disappearing entirely. The deal is made. You thought. Then you wondered, why is he still holding your hand?
You looked at him. “Sir?”
“Hm? Oh, my apologies~!” He quickly withdrew his hand, standing up from the couch. You followed suit, confused a little at his sudden actions.
“Now, let’s get started~!” He snapped his fingers again, and the vintage wallpaper of the radio station disappeared, replaced with the open, crimson skies of the Pride Ring. Looking around, you saw that the two of you were standing outside of the hotel. “So…you want to put the ‘lake’ here,” He said, pointing at the open space of the hill going down towards the city. “And you will be using a parasol while…performing this stunt?”
“Yes.” You said. Then you realized that you did not have your own on hand. “It will…make it difficult to perform without it.”  And it was how Olive made it home after she had slayed the monster. To return to her father, whom she loved the most in the whole world.
“Fair enough.” Alastor said. “An act can’t be completed without the necessary props~!”
You speculated that him snapping his fingers is either something he enjoyed immensely or it was just how he conjured his powers that were not affiliated with his manipulation of the shadows. You have come to this conclusion after careful observation of him, and your parasol quite literally popped out of thin air and in your hands suddenly.
“Thank you.” You opened the parasol carefully, raising it over your head and now focused entirely on the space where the lake is supposed to be. Alastor hummed, and with the fourth snap of fingers, a foggy and inky body of water appeared several feet from both of you. Then he disappeared, his shadows slithering to the other side. He was ready. But were you? Yes. Yes, you were.
You stared at the water for a moment before taking three steps back, digging the heel of your boots into the ground. You bent your knees.
Then you took off.
Tumblr media
Alastor thought you were a sweet little darling. Despite being insightful and a quick learner, however, you were oblivious to the signs of someone who takes an interest in you romantically. But he does not dare think that sending random gifts to the hotel, stalking someone through the cameras around the city whenever you leave the hotel for work or to run errands for Charlie, or even trying to ‘coincidentally’ mention your name and antagonize him on his broadcast  qualifies. Alastor knows that Vox is doing it. He knows why, because the clout video podcast is bold to assume that you are his lover, the Radio Demon’s lover.
Ha! No. Not at all. You were simply someone who entertained him and needed protection from licentious fellows who would not hesitate to take advantage of your innocence and ensnare you in a contract. That will not happen. So unless Vox wants to make an appearance on his broadcast as a new voice for all of Hell to hear, the fucking egoistical piece of shit had better keep his distance.
But imagine his surprise when you approached him for help. You, the person who would rather try to figure everything out on your own! Why, he was delighted~!
Granted it was for one of Charlie’s silly exercises, yet how could he not take advantage of this opportunity to get to know his darling a little bit more? So he offered a deal with you, listing the terms and the two of you shook on it…though he had to put your hand around his in a handshake. You were still wary of him, no doubt, and knew he did not like being touched. Suppose there was a benefit of working under Rosie as her secretary in his absence.
No doubt she told stories about you as much as she told him about you. She would go on about how efficient you were, how you always showed up on time and dressed appropriately as per the rules of the Cannibal Colony, etc. Why, she told him so much about you that he had been curious to meet you~!
And he was not disappointed.
Now, as he watched you gracefully leap across the murky lake he had conjured, the parasol held high over your head in your gloved hand, Alastor was spellbound at the sight. His smile grew wider, thoroughly enjoying the spectacle. But he refused to allow himself to get dirty again and pay another visit to the tailor; that was why he kept several feet away from the water, and he chose not to appear on the opposite side of the lake, as much as he’d like to. Oh well, there was always next time.
You had almost slipped, however, when your back foot began to loose traction on the water.
Well…nothing wrong with providing a little assistance, as far as he is aware of.
He summoned a tentacle from beneath the lake with a wave of his hand, letting you use it as leverage to bolster your speed and give you the stability needed to make one final leap to the opposite side. And you did, much to his delight and yours. When you smiled brightly at him….well, he was very pleased. He had just witnessed a new expression that he was quite sure no one else has seen since your arrival at the hotel. He chuckled darkly. He watched you walk back to him, face flushed, still clutching the parasol in one hand and the other one raising your skirt so that you wouldn’t tumble over your feet.
My, my, you truly are a fascinating soul.” He remarked, a hint of ominous delight in his voice. He had no doubt that you will dazzle everyone with your performance tomorrow and with his help. Afterwards…well, there will be no way for Vox to interfere. Oh, this was going to be entertaining.

“You’re not allergic to sesame, are you?”
You perk up when Bradley calls to you over his shoulder, raising his voice slightly to be heard above the sizzling pan in his hand. The scent of teriyaki steak wafts through the room and you know Pascal is completely jealous of you right now. Not that you blame him, you also didn’t expect to be waiting comfortably on a couch as your incredibly hot neighbor cooks food for you.
You wet your lips, ignoring the slight sting as you take in his question. You’d lost your chapstick somewhere on your walk to work and haven’t found the time to get another one so, for the moment, your lips are paying for it. “I don’t think so.”
“You don’t think so?” Bradley narrows his eyes at you, turning down the heat as you start to take up more of his attention.
“I mean, to my knowledge, I don’t have one,” you shrug. “I haven’t really thought about it. But I’m not dead yet, so—”
You bite back a grin when Bradley lets out a scoff, placing an exasperated hand on his hip as a dish towel stays thrown over his shoulder. He looks like an overworked housewife in the best way, lips pursed as he glares at you. “Princess, I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I genuinely have no idea how you’ve survived this long,” he starts and then you can’t stop yourself from giggling, doubling over on the couch as Bradley’s expression quickly shifts to confusion and then amused understanding. “You’re messing with me,” he concludes.
“I am,” you agree through your laughter.
“You’re ridiculous,” Bradley shakes his head fondly, turning back to the kitchen to start plating the food. “More ridiculous than Ms. Tillard.”
Your jaw drops. “No, I’m not! Bradley, she tried to get you to fix her shower at 2:00 in the morning!”
“Don’t forget the skimpy bathrobe,” Bradley adds, making his way over to you and popping a bite of broccoli in his mouth.
He plops down directly next to you, large bicep brushing against yours as he settles and hands you your plate of teriyaki steak. You thank him for it quietly, before delving back into the conversation at hand.
“Exactly, I’m not worse than her. I’ve never done that.”
“Hey now, I never said I’d be mad if you did that,” Bradley corrects you quickly, a smug smile on his face when you visibly fluster.
You shove his shoulder with a roll of your eyes, trying to hide how heated your face is. “You’re the worst.”
“I’m just saying, princess,” Bradley holds his hands up (well, one hand. The hand that’s not busy holding his plate raises with his fork in between his fingers) with a cheeky grin. “If you ever want to wake me up in the middle of the night, wearing lingerie and telling me deeply intimate stories about your ex husband, I would not object in the slightest.”
While the thought of Bradley openly admiring you in lingerie has you hot for a whole different reason, you ignore the feeling, shrugging off his words with a humorless chuckle. “Sorry to disappoint, but I don’t have an ex husband. That would require me to have, you know, dated someone.”
The words come out more awkward than you mean them to, perhaps the definition of oversharing now that you think about it, and you wish that you could take them back as soon as they leave your mouth. If Bradley agrees, he doesn’t say anything, instead his eyes almost seem to darken and then he’s looking away from you and shoving a carrot in his mouth.
You follow his lead, finally digging into the food in front of you. The second it reaches your taste buds, you let out a sound of delight. “Bradley, this is so good!” You take another bite hastily.
Bradley’s cooking abilities had been a surprise to you the first time you finally came over. Actually, everything about the encounter had been a bit of a surprise. You hadn’t entirely known what to expect when you and Bradley finally set a concrete date and time to hangout. The two of you had been toying around it over text, which you felt much more comfortable communicating on in the beginning. It was so much easier to get your words out clearly without having to also look at his cute face.
But maybe the two of you had grown too comfortable with small talk you could respond to at your convenience or, as Callie had so nicely put it, both stupidly thought you’d mess up a face-to-face interaction. (Which you had valid reasons for, but Callie refused to hear it). With a push from her and a motivational talk with Pascal, you and Bradley finally made the plans that would require you to walk approximately five feet from your front door.
You were nervous, of course you were. You like to think that Bradley was a little nervous too—with the way he opened the door before you could even knock and the light flush on his face that never seemed to quite go away. Was he as nervous as you suddenly became when you caught sight of the open door to his bedroom and were reminded of all the things you know he does in said bedroom? Maybe not, but he was nervous for a moment and you take some pride in that.
The two of you sat on opposite ends of the couch and stiffly talked about things like the weather, before Bradley offered to make some food and that was when you first learned that he was an excellent chef. Cooking seemed to put Bradley in his element, making him more relaxed, and his easygoingness resulted in you relaxing a bit more too. The two of you fell back into how it was over text and, while laughing with him over some gossip about one of your other neighbors, you realized that Callie had been right. Maybe the two of you had just been a little scared.
After that, you and Bradley started seeing each other more regularly. You have standing dinners every Saturday, though often see each other far more throughout the week. If Bradley had a long day, he’d send you a quick text and leave the door unlocked for you. If you had a long day, you’d just show up unannounced.
You’re sure that your mother and father would have an aneurysm if they knew about your friendship with the man. He was everything you were taught to avoid growing up and also somewhat of a stranger (the first time you met him, at least). He cursed, and told vulgar jokes, and hadn’t gone to college. And part of you worried that you were so interested in Bradley as a way to spite your parents about the sheltered upbringing they forced upon you, but you knew in your heart that wasn’t true.
Bradley’s a good person, you know that. And you know that anything your dad thinks about him is entirely false because there’s not just one way to be a good person. You’re not sure what you grew up thinking even makes you a good person. Because Bradley is kind and funny, he carries your groceries and makes you laugh when you’ve had a bad day. He helps you with things you don’t totally understand, like talking to your landlord or building IKEA furniture. He does all that because that’s just the kind of person he is, you’ve learned, a good person. And your family—your father especially—would never do something like that. So what exactly does that say about you?
You feel a thick finger press gently into your temple.
“I can hear you thinking from here,” Bradley teases. “Care to share with the class, princess?”
You purse your lips, embarrassed to have been caught falling into this spiral that you find yourself in often. You don’t really want to ruin the mood of the night and you feel as though you’ve overshared enough. Talking to Bradley has really shown you just how privileged you are and if your biggest problem is simply morality maybe you shouldn’t be talking at all.
Bradley’s face softens as he must read something across your features. He moves his hand again, but instead of poking you, he brushes a strand of hair behind your ear. “Or you could tell me how Callie’s wedding planning is going.”
He’s giving you an out and you smile softly. Bradley’s a good person.
“It’s good,” you say and you take another bite of food because it’s delicious. “I can’t believe how close it’s getting.”
“Have you finished planning the bachelorette party?” Bradley asks.
“Oh.” You deflate. “I’m actually not planning that.” You try to shrug it off, though you’ve never been good at that, so you’re sure it’s not successful.
From your peripheral, you see Bradley furrow his brows. “You’re the maid of honor though.”
“Yeah, I— One of Callie’s work friends really wanted to plan it and I was busy moving at the time. Plus I’m not super knowledgeable about that stuff. Everyone thought it would be easier.” You shrug.
It’s silent for a moment as Bradley sets down his plate and you fear you might have overshared again. “You can plan my bachelorette party,” he offers suddenly.
The words catch you off guard and you can’t stop the giggles that suddenly spill from your lips. “What?”
“You heard me,” Bradley shoots you a lopsided smile. “You can plan my bachelorette party. We can wear those sashes and everything can be dick shaped. Just—” He grins. “No strippers please.”
Your jaw drops. “Strippers? Bradley, don’t be crass.”
“It’s settled then,” Bradley teases and then he’s patting your knee. “Now finish your food, I know you didn’t have lunch today.”
How Bradley knows that, you have no idea, but you’re sure your guilty expression confirms it and you quickly start digging in again, giving him a sheepish smile as your cheeks puff out with food. He just snorts at your expression, picking up his food again with a shake of his head.
“Ridiculous,” he reiterates and you grin.
Regardless of what’s actually right and wrong in the world, at least you know that Bradley Bradshaw is a good person.
Tumblr media
You feel like a football player with how many drunk girls you’re dodging and weaving through—or at least, this is what you imagine football players feel like, maybe it takes more than just barreling through intoxicated women and dodging off-rhythm elbows. Finally, you make it to Callie with an over dramatic sigh of relief as you plop down next to her on the vinyl upholstery of your booth.
Callie’s work friend Lucy had gone all out for her bachelorette party, renting out a private room at a popular club and providing you all with copious amounts of alcohol. Callie seems to be having the time of her life, wearing her white bride sash across her body proudly and a cute tiara that’s sliding off her head. You’re dressed similarly—though your sash is pink—and you can feel the combs of your tiara just above your ears. All and all, everyone seems to be having a good time and you’re happy that it turned out this way because you doubt you could have pulled off anything near this.
When Callie catches your thoughtful expression, she wraps her arm around yours, pushing a shot towards you. “You are not drunk enough,” she tells you knowingly, collapsing all her weight onto you.
You take the shot quickly, wincing at the taste, holding up the shot glass as if to prove it to Callie. “And you may be too drunk,” you note, noticing the way she’s resting her head on your shoulder. “Do you want me to get you some water?”
“No!” Callie stops you quickly, perking up suddenly before pushing at you to let you both out of the booth. “Lucy said she has a surprise in our private room and, as my maid of honor, you legally can’t miss this.”
You laugh as Callie drags you through the crowd of people dancing, faring much better than you did, but you’d always known she’d be a better football player out of the two of you. “What? You gonna sue me or something?”
“Why do you think I’m marrying Billy? It’s so I can sue you whenever I feel like it.” Though drunk, Callie comes up with the quip quickly and you shake your head with a giggle as she shoves you into the private room.
Most of your party is already inside, all about as drunk as Callie, watching as Lucy clears the few tables in the room and drags two chairs into an open space.
“Callie!” She lights up when she sees the bride-to-be and for the second time tonight, you’re being dragged by a drunk woman. “And maid of honor! You totally need to be here too.”
Before you can ask any questions, Lucy is pressing on your shoulders—and for such a small woman, she is strong—causing you to plop into one of the empty chairs as Callie sits in the other one.
Lucy claps excitedly. “Okay! Just stay like that, alright? They should be here any second.”
“They?” You turn your head to Callie slowly, but your best friend just shrugs.
It takes another minute of sitting in a chair in the middle of an almost empty room before you’re ready to start asking questions again and you open your mouth, but the words die on your tongue when the lights suddenly dim and color changing stage lights take their place, moving over the room slowly. Lucy squeals as the door to the room opens and… is that a fog machine?
“Hot in Herre” suddenly starts blasting through the speakers and then three men are entering the room clad in thick jackets and— Did someone call the fire department?
One of the fire fighters stops in the middle of the room, scanning you all with a smirk on his face and there’s something about him that’s strangely familiar. The music dies down a bit as he struts around the room.
“We’re here about the fire.” Your eyebrows jump in alarm. Fire?! If there’s a fire, why are these guys just standing there? “But the only hot stuff I’m seeing is you ladies,” he continues before turning to his compatriot. “Wouldn’t you say so, Coyote?”
The other guy—Coyote—grins, locking eyes with Lucy. “Definitely.”
It’s not until one of your friends shouts “Take your clothes off!” that you realize what’s going on and you whip your head to look at Callie in a panic. “Oh my god, they’re strippers?”
“Bitch, what did you think they were?” She laughs and you’re too embarrassed to admit you honestly thought they were a part of the San Diego Fire Department so you just keep your mouth shut.
…For approximately one second, when your brain finally pieces together something else. “Wait,” you whisper hiss, gesturing to the chair you’re sitting on. “Are they gonna give us lap dances?!”
Before Callie can answer, Firefighter number one grabs your attention again, the song switching to something you don’t recognize—though it’s still fire related, you’re sure. “Well, if we’re here… Why don’t we give you ladies a show?”
The room erupts in cheers and suddenly the lights are blinding and all three men are ripping off their jackets to reveal spandex briefs, suspenders, and baby oiled abdominals. The rest of your party looks elated at this development, but you’re sure your face shows nothing short of horror because you finally realize where you’ve seen Firefighter number one from. He was the blond guy from the elevator that was heading over to Bradley’s place that day you and Bradley talked for the second time. And Coyote, you recognize him too! He was also there. And the third guy—
Oh no.
No, this can not be happening.
“Where’s the bride, huh?” Firefighter number one smirks, directing his attention to you and Callie who are both frozen in your chairs. “Hey, sweetheart. Aren’t you a pretty thing?”
Firefighter number one seemed focused on Callie, and Coyote had already moved to entertain the rest of your friends, and Lucy had sat you down in a chair which meant that she expected you to also… interact with the strippers, and the only one left was—
You duck your head down quickly, hoping the darkness of the room can hide your features from Bradley as he makes his way over to you. Suddenly all you can think about is his voice through your wall the first night you moved in. Would he sound like that now? What if he called you a good girl? How could you come back from that?!
Bradley’s deep chuckle cuts off your thoughts and you have to hold your breath because he’s now close enough that you’re making the choice between making direct eye contact with either his abs or his… package. “Shy, honey?” He questions softly and your thighs clench.
You’re not strong enough for this. You’re not strong enough for this. You’re not strong enough for this. You’re not strong enough—
To your right, Callie is pretending to throw money on her stripper with a loud cackle, having a much better time than you as you try to figure out how to get through this interaction without Bradley realizing that he’s strip-teasing his neighbor.
“We don’t have to do anything you don’t want to,” Bradley’s voice is raspy as he gently takes your hand and slides it across his defined muscles. “We can do this nice and slow…”
Inside you’re screaming, but you know you can’t say anything because then he’d definitely recognize you. Instead, you keep your eyes trained on his massive thighs, teeth clamped down on your tongue as he drags your hand over his bare chest. He pauses this exploration suddenly, reaching his other hand up to fix the tiara you’ve long since forgotten about.
“This is cute. You a princess or something?”
Your eyes widen at the name and you shake your head vigorously, eyes now trained on his shoes. He can’t recognize you!
Bradley laughs are your reaction. “Alright, alright. Not a princess, got it. But since you’re answering questions now…” His grip on your hand suddenly tightens and he leans over to whisper, “You like touchin’ me here?” He emphasizes the words with another stroke of your hand over his abdomen.
You know you should shake your head. That would get Bradley to stop touching you and maybe you could get through the whole thing without him realizing that it’s you. But his voice so close to your ear does something to you and you find yourself nodding meekly.
“What about here?” He whispers, dragging your hand down over the curves and dips of his abs until your fingers are brushing the waistband of his shorts. “You like touching me here?”
You can only nod again.
“Yeah, you do, huh?” Bradley chuckles against your ear. His hand feels so big compared to yours and he just keeps dragging it down with such dominance, you can’t help but follow whatever he decides. His hand—and, as a result, yours—stops suddenly. “What about here?” Bradley smirks, his voice heavy.
When you realize what you’re holding, your eyes widen and, without thinking, you whip your head up to look at Bradley in shock. One of the colored lights flashes over you and Bradley’s hand freezes and then falls from where it was pressed against yours. His own eyes widen, his face still mere inches from yours as his mouth opens and closes a couple times.
“Princess?”

Kinzi's 25 days of Christmas: Blogmas Day 2.
Summary: In which Y/N and George have been together for three years, and it takes a mistake for him to take the next step of their relationship.
Pairing: George Weasley x Fem! Reader
Warning(s): mentions of wizard war, mentions of death (not major character and not specified),
This could have ended way better, also the fact that this imagine is shorter than I like as well. I am doing my best at making my Blogmas posts as long as possible, but sometimes it takes me hours to plan the plot of these short stories out. I am a perfectionist, so that is why I never re-read and edit any mistakes because I am afraid of wanting to go back and change the whole story. *Fred did not die in the war*
Tumblr media
Three years, it has been three years since George had grown a pair and asked Y/N to be his girlfriend. Since then, there had been many events happen in the course of their relationship. They had moved past the awkwardness of the beginning of the relationship, they had gone through their firsts that every relationship goes through, and everything in between.
Their relationship had survived the second wizard war but had challenges. Seeing as Fred had to be taken care of because of an accident and then George getting hurt before then. It was a hectic and stressful time for the couple, but now everything was back to normal. Well, normal as everything could be after losing some of the nicest people.
Christmas was tomorrow and Fred and George had many customers in and out of the joke shop. Whether it was for Christmas gifts or something before going home for a Christmas prank. They had many customers a day and George had found it hard to be able to see Y/N during the holiday season. The joke shop was closing early and they would stay closed until after Christmas because they all knew the wrath of Molly if they did not show up on time or if they left early.
On Christmas day, Molly was having dinner at the newly built burrow and told everyone that dinner was at 5 o'clock sharp. That morning, George had gotten up to wrap the present for Y/N that he had spent a decent amount of money only to find it missing from the place that he had put it.
"Hey, Fred." George called knocking on his bedroom door and walking in, "have you seen-" He stopped when he noticed Fred's girlfriend wearing the necklace and earring set that he bought specifically for Y/N. The reason he had picked them out was because he had seen her looking at them and she refused to buy them because of the price they costed. “Found them.” He mumbled to himself, his eyes not leaving the necklace.
He was sure that there had to be some sort of mix up. His twin would not steal his girlfriend’s gift on purpose. Instead of getting angry, George did what he believed was right, found Fred and asked him what he thought he was doing.
“I’m sorry,” Fred mumbled when he noticed the distressed look on George’s face. “I grabbed the wrong gift and before I could correct it she was so happy.” He trailed off making George groan. “You could give Y/N the gift I bought for Angela.” He suggested.
George thought about it for a moment, they had hidden their gifts in the same place. Meaning it was an easy mix up and he knew that Fred was telling the truth about grabbing the wrong box. Fred had planned on getting Angela a promise ring, and that gift would work if George hadn’t already given Y/N one of those almost a year ago.
“I’ll come up with something.” George mumbled before leaving his twin to himself. He had less than four hours to come up with the perfect gift for his girlfriend and he was determined to find it.
Four hours had flown by and by the time George and Fred joined everyone at the burrow, Y/N was already there. It wasn’t a shock to the twin, seeing as she was early to everything.
“You’re lucky you aren’t a minute later.” Y/N spoke as she walked up and greeted George from where she had been helping Molly. She had gotten there early knowing that it would be hectic if she didn't. "Molly has be waiting for you guys to arrive."
George gave her a quick kiss before going and putting their gifts under the tree. He wasn't sure how Y/N would like his gift, but he had come up with something... sentimental. Angelina had gone into the kitchen to see what the girls were up to, while Fred and George joined their brothers and Harry by the fire.
"I doubt that Ron even got me something." Hermione stated to Y/N who was setting the Table for Molly. "He's still so awkward about some things."
Y/N let out a small laugh, "I think that's just Ron." Y/N was a year between each group. Fred and George were a year older than her, and she was a year older than the golden trio, while being two years older than Ginny. "Hi, Angie." She greeted with a smile her eyes flickering to the earrings and necklace the girl was wearing. "I love your jewelry set! I wanted to buy the same one, but I didn't want to pay that price."
Angiela gave the younger girl a small smile, "Thank you, Fred got it for me." she replied before going over to greet Molly.
Dinner had come and gone within an hour and Molly had the kitchen cleaning itself. The family gathered around the fireplace as they got ready to open presents. Y/N was sitting on the floor, between George's legs as he sat on the couch. She was chatting with Hermione as they were talking about the after-holiday plans and if anything had to change.
"I think I am going to move." Y/N told Hermione as the girl played with the necklace she always wore. "The place I live at is getting worse and the landlord won't fix it."
Pretty soon the presents were being handed out by the Weasley's and everyone gathered knowing the Christmas tradition at the Weasley's house. Y/N had gotten George the thing he had been wanting for a while and he was beyond excited to receive the gift. It was unexpected and it made him nervous about her opening her gift.
"Can you go upstairs?" George asked Y/N as he noticed Molly hand her the gift that he had gotten her. "I would prefer you not open it in front of everyone." he mumbled quietly as the couple stood up and snuck off.
The pair in the room that they assumed was Ginny's for when she came back home just due to the looks of the room and so on. "There was a mix up of gifts this morning," George started as Y/N went to open her gift. "Fred gave Angela yours and-" He stopped talking when he noticed Y/N's reaction to what was in the box.
Wide eyes stared down at the little jewelry box, you would assume it would hold something that you could wear. Yet, it was nothing close to that. The key laid flatly in the velvet box, and y/n did not know what to think. "What Are-What are you asking?" she asked scared to assume.
Maybe this was a sign that she could come and go as she pleases instead of knocking, or maybe it was exactly what she thought it was. "Will you move in with us, well me?" He asked carefully. "I know it's not expensive and like I said, Fred gave Angela yours by mistake and-"
His sentence was interrupted by Y/N stepping forward and wrapping her arms around the boy she had loved for four years, even though they had only been together for three. "It's perfect." She assured to ease his nerves at the fact that his gift was something he already had, or just the price of making a copy of the key. "You didn't have to get me anything."
George shrugged, "I figured it was time to take the next step, it just took a push from Fred." he spoke softly to the girl he knew he was so lucky to have.
"Well, you just saved me the stress of apartment hunting." She replied back as she grabbed the key out of the box and handed him the box back, knowing that it probably belonged to Fred's other gift. "I love you so much, you know that right?"
"Of course, love." George nodded with a smile on his face. "I love you as well." With that Y/N leaned forward and caught the Weasley's lips between hers. They kissed for a moment before pulling away, George with a cheeky grin, "I could have proposed instead."
Y/N's smile grew at the thought of eventually marrying George and becoming a Weasley herself. "That sounds like a plan for next year." She winked before kissing him one more time and leaving the room, him trailing behind her.
"Are you saying you'd rather live with me, instead of marrying me right now!?" He asked not knowing how to take the information if she were to confirm.
"I have to live with you first to see if we're compatible." She told him with a shrug, but she was joking. Regardless of what happened she knew that she would love him.
"What does that mean?"
I hated the way I ended this, but Blogmas day 2 is complete! I have been working on Blogmas, requests, and my Mattheo series so I have been busy. This is on top of having to study for my finals so.

Girls Like You (Katrina Gorry x Reader)
A/n y'all wanted part 2, so here she is 😊
Warnings: teeny mention of bad times. Little bit of mention of some violence, not much, though. Mentions of mental health. Some mention of illness.
Also, buckle in, guys. She's a long one.
Part one
Tumblr media
Katrina was sure she'd left her favourite shirt on the top shelf. That way, it was away from grabby hands and accidental spillages. Of course, now that she actually needed it, it was missing.
Harper's sat on the bed, playing with an electronic drawing pad. (She made the mistake of giving her actual non-toxic markers one day. Never again.)
As she digs through the large pile of clothing now on the floor, there's a small knock at her bedroom door.
"Hey, Min, just me and Kyra, you need help with anything?"
She sighs softly, standing up again and walks to the door, pulling it open.
"Yeah, I can't find my favourite shirt. Have you guys seen it?"
Charlie thinks for a second.
"You mean that blue sleeveless one?"
"No, the white button-up."
Charlie frowns for a second.
"Don't you own like ten of those?"
Katrina shakes her head. "No, Harper keeps spilling things on them, and at the rate she's doing it, my washing machine can't keep up, so I'm pretty sure I'm down to one again."
She rubs at her face softly. This really wasn't helping her nerves now. Charlie sighs softly before pushing the girl to the bathroom.
"Just put on your other clothes, and get ready. I'll have a look while you finish up."
"Thanks Cha."
She waves her off and continues digging through the mess that she'd probably end up having to lock in the wardrobe and clean up when she got back.
She puts on a pair of blue denim shorts and a simple tank top, so she's not wearing nothing when she steps out.
Twenty minutes of makeup, and another twenty for hair, later, and she walks out of the bathroom.
She can see Charlie sitting on the bed beside Harper, chatting with the small girl, keeping her occupied while she draws as well.
"Oh wow, is that a soccer ball?"
The girl eagerly nods her head.
"That's so coool. I love it. Who'd you draw it for?"
"Mummy! Soccer makes her happy, I made it for her."
Katrina's heart just melts that little bit more. Charlie turns to Katrina with the same expression, hand over her chest.
"Any luck?"
"Yup, it was on the top shelf in the corner still."
She rolls her eyes, and Charlie tosses the shirt to her.
"Of course it was."
She puts the flowy white shirt on and checks her reflection, huffing slightly.
"Nerves?" She hears from behind her.
Charlie's watching her with a small smile.
"Little bit. Nothing I don't normally deal with. In theory, this should be the easiest thing I've done all week."
The blonde only leans her head into her palm. She knows that's not really the case.
"Buuuut?" She prompts gently.
"But.. ugh, I don't know. She makes me a little nervous, is all."
"A little? Min', you've been jittery all week. What's making you so nervous? She obviously has the hots for you, and she set this date up, despite the fact you asked her out, so she obviously wants to go out."
"I know, but like, what if I end up being a disappointing date or something?"
Charlie gives her a pointed look.
"You're kidding, right? Min', I love you and care about you, and I'm gonna say this in the nicest way possible while your child is currently crawling all over me." Harper grins up at the defender.
"You are the nicest, sweetest, protective, and most caring person and a brilliant mother and one heck of a footy player. If you're disappointing to her, she's losing out on a world of love that she won't ever find elsewhere."
Katrina looks down, fighting a small flush creeping up her neck.
"Okay, but what if the fact that I have a child scares her off?"
"Are you serious? You better not be."
Katrina only blushes more at that. Charlie sighs softly.
"Min', aside from the circumstances you both met in and the fact she met your child before meeting you. She said yes to a date, knowing full well you had a kid. In fact, she messaged you just yesterday, asking if the date went well enough, Could you both spend your second date doing something with Harper. It's been four days, and she already loves this little human being. And I certainly don't blame her."
She trails off, giving Harper a big kiss on the cheek, making the girl giggle.
"Yeah, okay, I get your point." A smile makes its way onto her lips at the sight.
"You better. I'm serious Min', you're too good for her not to know what she'd be missing."
She gives her a grateful smile.
The older woman sits back on the bed, and Harper jumps out of Charlie's arms and into her mother's.
"Hi!"
"Hello, little miss."
It makes her little one giggle again, and she hugs her tight, Harper is very much happy to do the same. She's so grateful to have her. She's been light in her life for the two years since she'd been born.
A ping on her phone pulls her back to reality. It's from you.
"Hey! I'm on my way, be about twenty minutes or so? Say hi to Harps for me.😊"
There's a tingle that runs through her when she reads the message.
Charlie just gives her the I-told-you-so look.
Katrina gives her a small shove and texts you back.
"Hey, all good 😊See you soon 😉. Also, will do!"
-------
"I'm still nervous, Ash, It's my first date in like four months. What if I fuck it?"
"Dude, just don't fuck HER on the first date and it's fine."
Your sister's voice plays over the speaker in your car. You'd called her the moment you left the house, nerves grating you down a bit.
You roll your eyes at her.
"Yeah, there's no chance of that happening on the first date. You forget she's got a kid that she still has to go home to. Plus, she doesn't seem like the type to have sex on the first date and take off."
"She doesn't have to stay the night for you both to-."
"Alright! Jesus, I get the point. But still, she seemed genuinely nervous about asking me out."
"Wait, so why are you arranging the date then?"
"I don't know? I messaged first, she was happy to let me take the lead on that one, I'm assuming she's just a little busy, that's why I jumped in. Figured it would be nice for someone to take her out."
She pauses for a second.
"You said she's a professional football player?"
"Yeah why?"
"What's her name again?"
"Ashley, I'm not letting you stalk her, you already scared my last date off, I'm not letting you scare this one off too."
She gets defensive.
"I was not going to stalk her, I was just curious where she plays is all."
"Uhuh, right. Thats exactly what you were looking for."
"You want my help or not?"
"Not if you're gonna internet stalk the poor woman."
"I'm just making sure she's genuine and not some serial killer."
"Oh my fucking god, Goodbye Ashley."
"I was just looki-."
You hit the hang up button. You were just about to pull up at Katrina's place anyway.
You pull over on the side of the road and quickly check yourself in the mirror.
You went with a rolled up white rolled see-through button up tucked into a pair of black jeans and a black bra underneath. That and a pair of your lucky white skate shoes.
You try and steel your nerves a bit, wiping your palms on your pants and spray a quick bit of mint breath freshener in your mouth.
You get out of the car and make your way to the door and hit the door bell.
----------
"Ooh, shes heerrreee." Charlie takes off down the stairs.
"Charlotte Layne Grant! Do not answer that door!"
By the time she tells Kyra to watch Harper and runs down the stairs she's already got the door open.
"Hey, Y/n! She's just coming down now. Now, no funny business, we want her home by no later than ten and- Hey!"
She gets shoved away from the door by a very annoyed looking Katrina.
You watch on, biting your lower lip to hide a laugh, flowers in hand.
You hear her scold the blonde mildly and then she returns to the door a little flustered.
Her hair is down straight but tucked back just over shoulders. The white flowy shirt, rolled back to just below her elbows, shows off her wrist tattoos and her collarbone. Your eyes trail over it before meeting her eye again with a small grin noticing her having done the same.
"Hey, you."
"Hi." She says it with a grin of her own.
You offer her the flowers, and she pulls you towards her into a hug. Your arms wrap around her, keeping the flowers from being crushed. She's only a little bit shorter than you, so you're able to rest your chin on her shoulder as her arms wrap around you.
It's a short embrace, but she leaves a lingering touch to your waist as she lets go looking up at you.
She takes them inside for a second while you wait and returns swiftly.
You step back, holding out your hand for her's.
"Ready?"
She takes it, her hand warm in yours.
"As ever."
As you both walk down the drive and you open the passenger side door for her to step in, she gives you a grateful smile and a small peck to the cheek. You hear one final yell from behind you.
It's Charlie at the door, sporting a glare. "Home by ten." And gives you an I'm-watching-you gesture. You chuckle and salute at the blonde while Katrina yells back.
"You better be watching my daughter, Charlotte Layne."
Charlie's eyes widen slightly, and the front door slams shut behind her when she takes off inside again.
You close the door once she's settled and return to the driver's seat.
"Alrighty, Clicked in? Let's go."
As you pull away, she watches you carefully, waiting for an explanation as to where you guys are headed.
You hum softly. "So, I wasn't sure entirely as to your preferences, so I've got a few places we're going to, if you agree that is, we don't have to go if-"
Her hand rests on yours, your arm having been leant on the centre console.
"I'll go where you've picked for us. Im not fussed, I'm just here with you."
You smile and nod, her fingers intertwining with yours for the rest of the ride. When you pull up in a spot beside a blank modern style building, there's a little confused look on her face that's adorable.
"C'mon, you'll see once we get inside."
You nod your head towards the place. Katrina raises a brow slightly but decides to trust you as you both step inside.
It suddenly makes sense to her as you both step into a crowded bar.
It's an open mic night. In a gay bar.
It's somewhere you're a regular at, to the point where the bartender, Aiden, yells out to you the moment you both step in the door.
"Ayyy, look who's here, ladies, theydies and gents!"
There's a few cheers around the bar as some of the locals spot you. The bar isn't packed, there's only maybe forty or so people in the room, but there's a stage and a mic setup where the current half tipsy singer has stopped to cheer as you come in as well.
Your face flushes as you turn back to Katrina, a really curious look on her face now. "I'm a bit of a regular... for the karaoke, that is." You rub the back of your neck.
"Well then, miss singer, sign me up, let's see what you've got."
You smile and lead her over to the bar.
"Ms L/n, the usual?"
You shake your head at Aiden.
"Virgin tonight, and another entry for, oh, Katrina, this is my best man, Aiden. He's the one who built this bar from the ground up."
He shakes his head as he fills a glass with some lime juice, sprite, mint, and a little soda water.
"Not on my own. Your girl here runs the place when I'm not in town."
Katrina raises her brows at that. You just smile sheepishly. It certainly explained why you were a regular then.
"Okay, I may have lied a little bit about only coming for the karaoke. But it definitely is a highlight, I swear."
She just gives you an amused look.
"What about you, love, anything to drink?"
"Just a soda water, thank you." He nods and pours her drink. He processes the drinks, but when you go to tap your card, his hand jumps in ahead of yours with another.
"Little bugger, you're gonna get me in trouble, man. Paying for my drinks."
"Who said I was paying for yours?"
He playfully winks at Katrina beside you, and you tut and whack him softly, knowing he's joking with you.
"Don't mind him. He can't keep a husband, so he steals my dates instead."
He puts his hand to his chest, giving you a mock offended look.
"How dare you? I'll have you know, it's husbands, not husband."
You stick your tongue out at him. "Too bad none of them could teach you to finance either."
He raises his hands in surrender, with a small laugh. "Got me there. What's getting added to the queue tonight ladies?"
You look at Katrina, but she just gestures for you to take your pick.
"You're the karaoke expert."
You raise your brow but take the tablet from Aiden. Putting in an intrumental that you know well enough and she'll probably know.
"Up for some gender bent Maroon 5?"
Katrina nods and you both grab your drinks.
You take a seat at one of the open tables.
As you both wait for the queue to progress, you talk about what led you to take over part ownership and what Katrina's life is like playing professionally.
"Honestly, he was desperate for someone to babysit the bar at the time. He knew me from back in Uni, knew I'd graduated with some certs in business management, finance, and accounting. So he calls me up and asks me to take over for a few weeks. I kind of latched onto the place after that, and now I do his yearly taxes for him in exchange for a few free drinks and a lifetime entry to the karaoke. What about you, what's the league like?"
"It gets kind of busy during the season, particularly during the summer months. I get asked to play in other spots, and it gets complicated. I play for the Brisbane Roar currently, so media duty is something I get asked to do regularly."
You raise a brow at that. You knew she played professionally, but to what level? You had no idea.
"That's really cool, and that's November through April, right?"
She nods.
"I was in Sweden for a bit with Harper, but I wanted to come home again. At least for a while."
You nod in understanding.
"I was actually in Sweden for about six months doing international work for a company I used to work for."
She tilts her head slightly.
"Really, when was that?"
She takes a drink.
"I came back about a year ago, so June through November."
"Was it meant to be that long?"
"No, it was supposed to be a permanent move, but I got homesick too quickly, didn't know anyone, and I was living on my own for five out of six months."
"So you told them to bring you back?"
"Ha, no, I just quit. They refused, so I left and never turned back. They were underpaying me anyway, I don't regret it whatsoever. Life is less stressful when you work for yourself."
"So what do you do now?"
"Well, when I'm not here doing Aiden's paperwork, I work as a freelance financial advisor/accountant, it pays decent but the residential market in Brisbane is kind of crap, so I live with my sister and her wife in the meantime, do you do anything between seasons?"
She kind of hesitates for a moment, but as she goes to speak, next in the queue is called up.
"That's us." You take a long sip of your drink and hold out your hand for Katrina to take.
She looks a little nervous, now suddenly overcome with a little stage fright.
"C'mon, these guys aren't scary, just drunk and happy to listen to us sing gay shit all night."
She puffs out her cheeks and takes your hand.
You lead her ip the stage and the small audience in the room cheers.
You take the mic for a second.
"Evening everybody, another night in for me. Bringing you Girls Like you by Maroon 5, covered by yours truly, aand."
You gesture to your date.
"Katrina, my new partner in crime."
You nod at Aiden to hit play.
It's a soft piano based melody compared to the usual guitar intro she's used to, but she knows the song.
Spent 24 hours
I need more hours with you
You spent the weekend
Getting even, ooh ooh
You start out singing, hoping to calm the girl's nerves and let her get used to the atmosphere as well.
She's pleasantly surprised by your singing voice, although given the cheers you got, she'd suspected you weren't exactly terrible either at that point.
We spent the late nights
Making things right, between us
But now it's all good, babe
Roll that Backwood babe
And play me close
You gesture the mic to her, grabbing her hand to pull her closer to you and nudge her to sing with you.
'Cause girls like you
Run around with gals like me
'Til sundown, when I come through
I need a girl like you, yeah, yeah
You grin when she sings into the mic with you. She's pretty good, actually. It shouldn't surprise you, though. The smoothness in her voice makes your heart jump a little.
Girls like you
Love fun, yeah me too
What I want when I come through
I need a girl like you, yeah, yeah
You start to sway a little, and her hand squeezes yours as you meet her gaze. You use the moment to watch her sing. Her blue eyes are sparkling under the orange-yellow lights. Her eyes crinkle slightly, and her nose scrunches when the guys in the audience cheer and whistle.
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
I need a girl like you, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
Yeah, yeah, yeah
I need a girl like you
She blushes when the crowd cheers louder and lets you take over again.
I spent last night
On the last flight to you
Took a whole day up
Trying to get way up, ooh ooh
The mic stays in your hand this time, and Katrina steps back a little to watch you sing. The way you smile brightly while singing, the way your eyes close as you let the music take over you, it has her heart racing a little.
We spent the daylight
Trying to make things right between us
And now it's all good babe
Roll that Backwood babe
And play me close
You motion her back over and she bites her lip, hiding a smile as she shakes her head, wanting to hear you sing instead. You raise a brow as you continue, stepping and grabbing her hand to pull her back towards you.
'Cause girls like you
Run around with gals like me
'Til sundown, when I come through
I need a girl like you, yeah yeah
You brush your shoulder with hers, your other hand settling on her back and you feel hers settle low on your hip, you turn and give her a wink as you continue.
Girls like you
Love fun, yeah me too
What I want when I come through
I need a girl like you, yeah yeah
Your hand is warm on her back, and she can smell your vanilla perfume from her position beside you as it floods her senses. Your voice is soothing, calming her more energetic side and allows her to relax into you as she sings with you.
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
I need a girl like you, yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
I need a girl like you
The song rounds out and the audience applauds you both, whooping and clapping and you take a playful bow and turn to Katrina to applaud her as well, giving her a proud smile.
You both step down off the stage, a little hot from the heat of the lamps facing the stage.
"So we gonna talk about the athletically talented mother soccer player being able to sing?"
She coughs slightly and turns her head away. "Nope."
You try to meet her eye again, a small pout on your lips.
"No? Aw c'mon, you were so good up there."
Her face flushes as her head whips back to you.
"Says you. When was that gonna come out? Professional singing level talent."
You end up with a blush matching hers.
"I.. never really pursued it. Not worth it in my opinion."
A raised brow in your direction.
"What? Just not something I was interested in pursuing. Was never stable enough for people so.."
Her face softens, realizing exactly what you meant there.
When her hand grabs a hold of yours again, there's a small tingle that runs up your arm.
Instead of commenting further though, you nod your head at the door.
"You hungry?"
She knows you're avoiding it but she's not going to push, not on a first date. She could actually eat though, she hadn't had food since that morning, a little too stressed about the date and also making sure there no possible way for Charlie and Kyra to screw up looking after Harper again.
"Yes, who knew singing worked up an appetite?" It's said in a joking tone, and you laugh with her as you wave goodbye to Aiden and some of the others.
The moment you step outside, the warm afternoon air has set in with a light breeze. You jog over to the door when you get closer to the car again, opening it for her with a cute bow that makes her laugh. God, you could listen to that all day.
"Such a gentlewoman."
You grin and wink at her, before moving to get in yourself.
"Alright, where to next?"
"How's seafood sound?"
Katrina's face lights up.
"And you just became my favourite person. Seafood sounds perfect, lead the way."
Your laugh gives her butterflies and she swears her heart stutters for a second.
"Yes Ma'am."
And with that, you drive for about twenty-five minutes to a place closer to the water. A little restaurant you'd picked up on while out with your sister.
Katrina's hand is in yours the second you pull out onto the road, her fingers interlocking yours. You graze your thumb gently over the back of her hand. You talk about her early days as a player, her days in the academy and you almost get into her being asked to play somewhere when you pull into a spot.
The restaurant is a quaint little spot, beach themed, because of course it is, and a bar stands on the outside facing the water. Stools line the counter and the waft of cooked fish blows your way in the ocean breeze.
"This place is so good. I come out here when I need to process and just get away, even if it's not too far from home."
"Smells good too."
You wander up to the bar and take a seat behind one of the extended counters meant for two people with the bar window to your right and Katrina sits on the other side.
You order from the employee through the window and get your food without issue.
The woman's soft groan from her first bite makes this worth it.
You chuckle. "Good, right?" She covers her mouth slightly, cheeks reddening as she nods.
She swallows. "Seriously, where the heck do you find these places?"
You shrug, "Honestly, I have no idea, I like to think luck has something to do with it."
"Luck?"
"If, and this is gonna sound bad, I don't really do it so much anymore, but, if I'm having a rough day or I'm feeling lost or just, I need a breather, I tend to wander out into the world for a few hours. Furthest I've gone is like, four hours further inland. Exploring has always been my mental stabiliser. Keeps me cool, keeps me calm when I'm stressed. I don't crave it, and I don't expect it when it does happen but it just kind of happens."
"Where's the worst you've ended up?"
"Well, there's been a few and honestly in my younger years I was kind of stupid too, so I've ended up where I really shouldn't. I was down in Melbourne for four months when I was twenty. In the last month I was there, I ended up wondering somewhere on foot. Keep in mind, it was just a crap way to go about it."
You kind of look off into the waves as they crash.
"But, I ended up being fired that day by a contracting company, they decided they didn't like the fact I was so young and that I wanted more for my qualifications than 10 bucks an hour. So I just left my apartment. Ended up with a missing wallet and a black eye. Turns out my dumb ass had walked where it shouldn't have and pissed off some gang members. After that one, I moved back home again to just focus on my studies."
"I'm sorry that happened. What about the best place you've been?"
You wave her off.
"Honestly, I'm past that. That's nothing. I'm lucky, but it was definitely my dumb ass that got caught out. As for the best place? I mean, Aidan's place. We met while in Uni and I stumbled into the bar one night after a rough day about two years later. He picked me back up and we became buddies after that."
"Alright, what place surprised you the most?"
"The four hour one, I wasn't expecting to find much. I found something, though. I ended up going on a hike and found this amazing lake that just went down forever. Massive open mouth cave and a waterfall. It just looked so untouched and peaceful. It was so green and colourful and it just makes everything in the city feel so grey."
You push around your food. Take another bite and then gesture to Katrina.
"What about you? Before you had Harper, what was going on then?"
"Depends, which part?"
"Why have Harper?"
"I've always loved the idea of having kids. At first, I kind of wanted to wait until I found someone to have a child with, but in my profession, that just doesn't come easy enough. I ended up out injured and right before I came back. That was the moment where I was like, 'Screw it, with or without a partner, I want my own child.' So I walked into an IVF Clinic in Norway, picked the donor I wanted, and started right away. My timing was perfect, and the first try was a success, and now I have little Harps. There isn't a single day in my life where I ever regretted my decision."
Your hand slides across the table as she talks, her's sat unoccupied, and as you listen, you slowly grab it. Letting it sit in your palm and without much thought, she let's you.
You toy with her fingers, running the tip of your index down each one. And then half intertwine them. She squeezes your hands closed, and it settles you fully for the first time since you moved to Sweden and back. Or before that even.
"She's been a light in my life, I feel so lucky to be her mother, ya know, it's Harper's world, and I'm just living in it. The girls on the national team are so good with her."
Your head perks up at that. National team? You ask exactly that.
"National team?"
Katrina's expression winces, realizing her slip up.
"Oh yeah, that too. I've been playing with the national team since I got called up in 2012."
Your brows raise at that.
"As in..."
"Australia. For Australia."
Oh. That. Was. Not what you expected.
"Wow, that's really big. Congratulations..? Sorry, that sounded weird. That's amazing, though. I can't imagine how much hard work that is. I mean, for real, a kid right in the middle of that, and you come back to play. That must be some strength you've got."
Her head ducks slightly.
"Honestly, I'm just glad it worked out the way it has. Harper has twenty aunts and two unofficial sisters that look at her like she's hung the stars. That and achieving my dream is all I care about. Harper, more so. I think, if having Harper had taken me out. I would've okay with that. I'm perfectly happy with it, actually. If anything, having Harper actually saved me a bit, too."
"How so?"
"I ended up with an infection, and it ended up swelling up the muscles between my two pelvic points. The pregnancy actually completely took out the swelling entirely. The pain just stopped one day and never came back. Even after Harper was born."
"I really admire the level of resilience you have. To push back on any expectation, to say fuck it, if that's what you want, you'll make it happen. It's actually really attractive. I'm sorry you had to go through so much though."
She shaked her head, squeezing your hand.
"I wouldn't go back and change a thing about how it happened. It's turned me into the person and player I am. I don't regret any of it."
You smile, watching her eyes as they flick down to your lips for a second and then away. You don't know if she noticed she did it, but you did.
Your hand loosens from her grip, fingertips tracing her wrist up to the tattoo on her forearm and then back down to her palm. Her skin tingles with every touch.
It feels mildly intimate, and you realise she's been silent this whole time, watching you do this. You look up to meet her gaze, a small apologetic smile.
"Sorry, little distracted, I am listening though. Continue?"
She just gives you a soft smile in return.
"What about where you grew up?"
You ponder for a moment.
"I grew up in a small town in New South Wales, actually. We moved to Brissy later, but that's another story. A place like a couple hours south of Sydney. It's really gorgeous there, I haven't been since I was a teenager but the place was really nice. Most of the folks living there were friendly. The schools were kind of crap but that's just the public system. We had a place in the more urban side of the region. Small brick house, big gum tree in front. Good sized backyard. The town had yearly markets. They were okay. Mostly to bring in tourists, though. It worked, and the place ended up really busy right before we left. I loved it when storm season came around. The rain was always a relief to have after hot summers. I love thunderstorms. The rain always helps me sleep better, too. Just anything rain, honestly."
While you speak, she repeats your earlier actions, fingers trailing gently over the veins in your wrist or the slenderness of your fingers. They trace the once obvious scars left there. They're subtle, but they're there. Years of healing over the top of what she assumed was a particularly dark time for you. Your hands are soft but are mildly scarred in their own right. A small scar above your wrist. A big one across the back towards your thumb.
"The town was a part of a bigger community region. The next town over was known for the museum there for one of the more famous sports folk of Australian history. There was the cricket oval in town, too. Just an average joe half rural town to live in honestly."
Her fingers continue their path around your hand, tracing the creaselines in your palm and the callus that sits just on the inside of your left pinky.
"What about your home life? What are your parents like?"
"My parents were... okay. Not great to be real with you. Hence why I'm staying with my sister rather than my parents. Kicked me out at seventeen and haven't looked me in the eye since."
She feels a small amount of anger flare up in her chest.
"Why would they do that?"
"Same cliché as any. Found out I was into girls over guys. Tried to have me cured. My sister had already moved out when this was going on. She knew they were strictly homophobic and took off the first second she could. I don't blame her for that. When they realised I wouldn't conform to their bullshit, I was kicked out. To experience the cruel harsh world, they said. The assholes just realised their children wouldn't give them biological and 'natural' grandchildren."
You roll your eyes as you remember the disgust and disappointment in your birth-giver's eyes.
"What the hell kind of parents do that to their own child? The one they're supposed to love and protect. And care for. And-"
Your hand squeezes hers, and you push the now empty plates aside to grab it with the other.
"Hey, I'm okay. Im fine. I dont miss them, and they'll never get the chance to miss who I am. They'll never get to hear about who I meet or who I'm with. I'm dead to them for all I care."
Katrina takes a small breath and uses your grasp on her hand to calm a bit before shooting you an apologetic look.
It's the first date, dude. Chill pill. So she tells herself.
Your heart swells at her protectiveness. She really was born to be a good mother.
"I hope they never get to see this side of you. Or who you are and who you'll be in five or ten years."
You blush lightly.
"Thank you." It's a soft murmur, and you duck your head slightly.
She smiles softly, and her thumb rubs at your hand.
You gesture to the worker and hand back your plates, and move to the register to pay.
There's some bickering, but after a sneaky slip of the card to the worker, you end up paying for it. Though that does earn you a soft shove and a whine when she hears the eftpos machine beep.
You chuckle softly.
"We better get going. I've got one more place for us to go, and I want to be there before complete sundown." You say lightly joking.
"Well, come on then!" She jogs ahead with a grin on her face, dragging you with her.
You play your routine part of valet and it earns you a tip, consisting of a kiss to the cheek that's far too close to the corner of your mouth and it makes you freeze for a second. She just chuckles, and you shake your head lightly and shut the door.
"It's about a half hour there, so feel free to pirate the aux cord."
You dig it out of the console and offer it to her.
"Aye aye, captain." She gives you a wink while she plugs in her phone.
You hear a familiar tune, and you immediately shoot her an impressed look.
"You, Ma'am, have amazing taste."
She smirks and nods as she starts singing along to the lyrics.
The drive passes by quickly with both of you yelling to various songs.
There's a small beach cove that opens up to a really nice view of the ocean. And it allows the sun to come down on the majorly clear water with a nice sparkle, too. You'd only come across it about a month ago, but it was a regular spot for you.
There was something else you'd wanted to do for a bit of fun, but it seems stupid now, considering her profession.
When you pull in to the driveway leading up to the spot, she gives you a funny look.
The driveway is completely surrounded by shrubbery, so it doesn't really surprise you.
She makes a joke, "Is this where I'm supposed to find out you're secretly a serial killer?"
You roll your eyes good naturedly and give her a slight push as you get out. She jumps out with you, and you both make your way up the path.
The dirt path turns to sand, and you stop, starting to take your shoes off.
"It's only getting sandier from here, so you might wanna take your shoes off."
She nudges you softly and does the same.
"Yeah, I did have another thing for us to do, but I'm afraid you'll kick my butt if we do it."
She has a mischievous look on her face.
"It was beach soccer, wasn't it?"
You smile sheepishly and give her a slight nod.
"Oh, you're on now. Go get it."
You raise a brow at her and jog to go get the ball and some mini cones.
The sun's just starting to set as you return with the stuff and a bag slung over your shoulder that you'd forgotten to grab.
Katrina's standing there staring out at the water when you walk up again. You quietly set the stuff down on the sand and move to stand next to her.
"You find places like this all the time?"
"Sometimes, it's a hit or miss kind of thing. This one was pure luck because I hadn't even meant to come down this way. It was the next street over."
"It looks amazing out here."
"Water is pretty good too."
She raises a brow in your direction but doesn't say anything. You move to set up the cones and lay out the blanket that was in the bag you had.
The moment you start, you realise how physical playing with her is. You keep up for the most part, but at one point, she wraps her arms around your waist to try and steal the ball and you both topple over, her landing sitting on you, legs either side of your hips.
The smug grin she gives you makes your heart flutter, and you lean up on your elbows.
"You give up yet, newbie?"
You give her a mock offended expression and accept the hand up she offers when she stands.
"Surrender?" You think for a few seconds.
You stride over to her, a mischievous glint in your eye. You lean down slightly and whisper in her ear. Her head tilts slightly.
"I'll think about it." At that, you take off with the ball.
"Oi, little cheater."
You cackle and try as you might to keep the ball away. She ends up stealing it from you. Her foot sits on the ball, hands on her hips as she watches you. You're practically dying at this point, huffing. Man, you needed to hit the gym more.
"Surrender yet?"
You flop onto your back onto the sand and give her a pleading hands motion.
"I think I'm dying here."
She just shakes her head at your antics and drags the blanket over to you, leaving the ball by the cones.
You both settle on the blanket, the sun finally going down enough to enjoy the view fully.
You sit, leaning back on your hands, and she does the same beside you, legs crossed.
As your breathing calms and the late afternoon breeze sets in, the waves start to crash a little more than the tiny laps at the sand that they were.
Katrina sighs softly, taking in the feel of the open air and the salty wind and the smell of harsh greenery.
The serenity of the scene put her more at ease than she'd felt in a while. She sits up a bit and shuffles closer to you, shoulder to shoulder, and nudges you softly.
"Thanks for bringing me out tonight."
You smile, "Thank you for agreeing to come out with me."
"I feel like I should be saying that."
"Maybe, but I'm the one that planned."
"I still asked first." You poke your tongue out at her cheekily, and she just laughs.
"Goof."
You clutch at invisible pearls.
"So mean."
"Oh, I'm sorry." There's a jested look on her face, and she moves to straddle you. Her hands settle on your shoulders, and yours find her hips.
You playfully huff with a half smile.
"Better be."
Her eyes flicker down to your lips, gaze darkening as the air around you shifts, your brow raised slightly when she meets your gaze again. You let out a shaky breath as her hand slides up to cup your cheek.
"Kiss me?" It's mumbled, but she still hears it.
Your lips are parted slightly.
"Don't even have to ask."
She leans down and captures your mouth with her own, and your eyes drift shut. The noise around you drifts away as your lips move together.
Her fingers tangle in your hair, tugging you closer to her, deepening the kiss slightly. One of your hands slips up to settle in the small of her back, holding her against you.
She pulls away from you with a playful nip to your bottom lip. You steal one more kiss, and her hands settle back on your shoulders, pushing you onto your back.
You raise a brow at the spark in her gaze, and she kisses you again, hands settled beside your head.
You stay there for a while. Until you're both breathless and have to come up for air.
Your pupils are dilated, and her hair is slightly mussed from you, having had your hands in it just seconds earlier. Her fingers are tracing at the hem of your shirt, just barely having dipped under the fabric to feel the skin beneath.
Her hands are cold, but they leave heated sensations where they travel along your stomach. It sends shivers down your spine, and you have to resist moving your hands where they probably shouldn't go. Not here or now, not yet.
She has the same thought and has to pull her hands back slightly, going back to settle beside your head.
Her teeth nip at your lower lip again. And you groan softly, going to kiss her again, only for her to pull away slightly, an amused look on her face.
"We're both gonna get in trouble if we stay out here any longer." You look around, noting the sun's gone down fully now, and the sky has cleared to stars, twinkling brightly.
"I forgot, we're both on curfew here."
She slaps your shoulder, a cute pout forming on her face. You kiss it away, and she groans, feeling her phone buzz in her pocket, and she pulls away again.
"Seriously, those two will kill me if I don't get home before ten. They hate being left alone with each other for too long, I have to play referee to keep them from fighting after a while. They love each other, but they get along about as well as sisters do. Plus, Harper is most likely loaded up on ten tonnes of sugar, so I'll be putting her to bed after that, too."
You chuckle, nodding in understanding.
"Mine's gonna report me missing if I don't get home soon too."
Katrina reluctantly gets off you, and you both pack up the gear and walk back to the car, shoes in hand.
The drive back is pretty quiet but peaceful. There's music playing softly in the background.
Your linked hands sit in her lap for most of the drive, and you get an occasional hum out of her as you sing softly along.
You get her home at about 9:30pm, having stopped halfway back to raid an ice cream freezer in a servo and some more kissing in the carpark. Almost reminding you of your teenage years, sneaking around kissing girls in the back of your parents' jeep.
Only this one feels a lot more passionate. Permanent. There's a lot more emotion behind each brush of her lips against yours, and it leaves you aching for more. To feel her pressed into you.
"I'd let you walk me to the door, but I'm afraid Charlie might actually interrogate us both."
It's only half joking this time. Knowing by now, that was well true.
"Let you out with a kiss goodnight instead?"
Her breath is ragged. "Please?"
Katrina's feels like she's addicted to your kisses at this point. A breath of fresh air. Your touch sends tingles through every nerve ending in her body.
You get out of the car, and when you open the door, she hops out and grabs you by the shirt, pulling you down into her, and smashes her lips on yours.
You steady the both of you, one arm leaning against the door frame, the other around her waist while her fingers tangle in your hair.
You finally pull away, leaving one last peck to her lips and a dazed look on both of you.
"Message me when you get home safe?"
"Of course."
She smiles and slowly steps away from you, hands slipping off your shoulders with a lingering squeeze.
"Good night, hot stuff."
"Good night, sleep well gorgeous. Give Harps a hug for me."
She nods and turns back to the house. The door slamming open makes her jump.
"Excuse me, young lady, you're one minute past ten 'o' clock. Why are you late?"
Her face flushes red, and she groans.
"Charlie, I swear to god."
The blonde just shakes her fist at you, still leaning against your car as you watch her go inside. A small smirk appears on your face as you wave to both of them and get back in, driving off.
Katrina brushes past the girl, and she calls out after her.
"You're so grounded"
She rolls her eyes, and as she goes upstairs to find Kyra and Harper, she can't drop the giddy grin on her face as she bids Kyra good night and puts Harper to bed.

Caught Pt. 2 (Andrea Kimi Antonelli X Reader)
Fandom: RPF/Formula 2/3
Requested: Clearly (I love this honestly)
Warnings: none.
Pronouns: You/your
W.C. 869
Summary: The aftermath of announcing your relationship.
As always, my requests are OPEN
MASTERLIST // HITLIST

The Instagram DM from the fan had already arrived, and he wanted you to see the picture. “I think this is the perfect way to announce us.”
Unfortunately, he was not able to post it the next day. His media manager did not think it would be a good idea to post so soon after the end of the season, so they decided to push it back a few weeks. Thankfully, the fans were willing to not post the pictures until you two were ready.
“Is it bad I want to keep those pictures for just us?” You asked one day while you two were lying in your apartment. The season was going to start up in a few weeks, and Kimi’s media manager said it would be the perfect time to announce the relationship in the run-up to the pre-season testing. You two were cuddling on your couch as a show played in the background as you scrolled through your phones. You were looking at the pictures that the fans sent you, and honestly, you didn’t want them out in the open. You turned your phone in his direction and it was set to the one where you were lying on the grass and Kimi was looking down at you. “This was our moment, and I don’t know if I want to share that with the world just yet.”
“I understand it, that does look a little much for what I’m comfortable sharing, too,” Kimi admitted. “We can talk with the team and see if they have any ideas to announce it unless you have any backup plans?”
“What if you post pictures that I’ve taken of you?” You offered, pulling up a few of your favorites that you’ve taken of Kimi. “We could do a funny caption that implies I’m your significant other.”
“I like it,” He laughed, opening Instagram.

The first race was something. The atmosphere was so much more lively than it was for FRECA. You didn’t know if it had anything to do with the recent announcement, but it seemed like there were more Kimi Antonelli fans than you remembered there being at the end of last season. Not that you were complaining! He was finally getting the recognition he deserved, but it felt like all of the attention was on you two as you walked into the paddock of Bahrain.
You walked through the gates hand in hand as fans stopped you every once in a while for pictures or autographs before you made it to the Prema garage.
“Be honest and I mean this in the nicest way possible,” you started as soon as you got into the safety and privacy of the driver’s room, “were there more fans or am I just crazy?”
“With more exposure comes more fans, I guess,” he laughed as he wrapped his arms around your waist. Immediately, his eyes turned soft as his arms moved down your arms instead to hold your hands. “You’re shaking, what’s going on?”
“I think this is just bigger than I thought it would be,” you whispered, taking a deep breath to try and steady your racing heart. You met his eyes and allowed a small smile across your face. “I should have seen it coming. Sure, F2 is one step below F1 and you’re in a front-runner team, but I didn’t expect this much attention.”
“Here, why don’t we do this,” he trailed off as he pulled you into the corner of the driver’s room where the message bed was set up. You looked at him skeptically at first, and when he noticed, he chuckled a little, “I’m not giving you a message, but lay down on your back.”
“I don’t see how this is gonna help,” you laughed as you got comfortable on your back. It did not take long for Kimi to climb on the bed on top of you, causing you to laugh more as he laid his head on your chest and wrapped his arms around your torso. “What are you doing?”
“I read somewhere that weighted blankets help with anxiety,” he started explaining as you ran your fingers through his curls, “We don’t have a weighted blanket, but I thought this would still work.”
“This works perfectly,” you whispered, placing a kiss on the crown of his head, “You’re adorable. What did I do to deserve you?”
“Exist,” he whispered back as you both relaxed in the calmness.
~~
“So this is where you guys have been hiding all day?” A voice came into the room after who knows how long, waking you both up.
“Oh, shut up, Ollie!” Kimi responded, recognizing who it was before you could.
“Why are we always getting caught in these kinds of situations?” You said to yourself in disbelief, causing Kimi to laugh.
“I don’t know, but I need to steal your boyfriend for a meeting,” Ollie laughed, grabbing Kimi’s arms and all but dragging him out of the room.

yin & yang pt. 4
Pairing: Ben Tennyson x Fem!Reader
Warnings: None
Word Count: 3.7k words
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3
Summary: You were an unlikely pair, everyone could see that. But what happens when you get a glimpse into a future where your differences were too much for you to bear?
A/N: Once again just a silly little self-indulgent fic. Hope you enjoy!
Tumblr media
Ben groaned in boredom, laying his face against the dirty tables outside Mr. Smoothie. Not even the smoothie, cheekily titled banana-fantana, was able to cheer him up like Gwen had been hoping.
"What's up with you?" Kevin asked, drinking his soda that he got from a nearby vending machine, after he had refused a smoothie four times.
"I miss (Y/N)." He mumbled, pouting.
They shared a glance over his head. Gwen ushered for Kevin to speak but he shook his head adamantly, mouthing that he wanted no part in this and crossing his arms.
Gwen glared at him.
"Speaking of (Y/N)—" Kevin began, all too quickly.
Ben finally raised his head from the table to look at Kevin and his friend bit his tongue, turning back to Gwen with wide eyes and beckoning her to speak.
"Uh, it's not that we don't like (Y/N)—we do! She's a great addition to the team and a good friend even—and um, Kevin?"
The man in question gave her a wicked glare before Ben turned to him and the murderous expression on his face was wiped away, "Gwen's just concerned that you might be—how did she put it—'acting like a lovesick fool'."
The look he got from Gwen was in stark contrast to the pig-headed grin he was bearing.
"What are you talking about?"
Gwen finally sighed, placing a hand on his shoulder, "We all know that you have this crush on (Y/N) but—and I mean this in the nicest way possible—but don't you think it's time that you start, you know, trying to get over her?"
He raised a brow, "Why on earth would I do that?"
"It's nice that you like her so much, but you know what (Y/N)'s like; she's driven and focused and her career as a Proctor is the most important thing to her—not that that's a bad thing! It's just—well—someone like that doesn't really seem like the type to date or be into relationships, you know?"
"That's not all what she's about. I know it doesn't seem like it but she's actually really sensitive and sweet."
They shared another glance, unconvinced.
"Guys, I'm serious! We have something between us!" He defended, unconsciously clenching his fist, and crushing the half-full smoothie cup in his hand.
Gwen let out an irate sigh.
Growing up, she had only heard of how smart she was from everyone surrounding her—her parents, her grandfather, even Ben—and yet whenever she tried to explain something to people, they tended not to listen.
If only Ben would listen to her now, he'd be able to avoid so much pain in the future. Whenever she tried to gently nudge him, he'd never listen so this time she took a more direct approach and yet, he still wasn't listening.
"Ben, please. I can tell that you're actually falling for her but honestly, where do you even see this going? Do you actually believe that you're going to get married and have kids or something like that?"
"Gwen, I'm just sixteen, it's way too soon to be worrying about something like that!"
"So, you're just going to date her until it becomes a problem?"
Ben rolled his eyes, standing from the table, "How about you mind your own business and keep your nose out of my relationship. I don't have to sit here and convince you of anything."
Kevin watched him walk away before letting out a low whistle, ignoring his girlfriend's glare, "I told you that was a bad idea."
***
Ben kept a single hand on the wheel as he drove the two of you over the museum, where you were supposed to meet Gwen and Kevin for a mission. You had long stopped reprimanding him for not driving with both hands since he began throwing tantrums and claiming he couldn't focus if your fingers weren't intertwined with his free one.
The roads were empty at this time of night anyway.
"Hey, did Gwen talk to you about anything? Me, specifically?" Ben brought up and you immediately picked up on the slight squeeze of his hand in yours but didn't comment on it.
"Not lately, no. Is something wrong?"
Ben let out a relieved sigh, "Nope, nothing at all."
You raised a brow at this, staring at him with suspicious eyes. He eventually caught on to your prying gaze and immediately attempted to change the topic, pretending like you didn't notice his futile attempts to do so.
"That's a pretty necklace, where'd you get it?"
You rolled your eyes, watching as a cheeky grin grew on his face at your response. He was not hiding his giddiness very well, but how could he? You, his beautiful girlfriend, whom his cousin said was a monotonous emotionless dead-end (she didn't actually say this, but Ben was offended all the same), was wearing the necklace that he had gifted her.
It was fairly simple, a thin chain with a small pendant with a gemstone. He knew you wouldn't wear something that was flashy or too gaudy, so he settled for something he knew you'd like.
And the sight of you wearing the necklace even though you usually insisted that any accessories that weren't a part of the uniform could sometimes hinder the mission was completely worth the hours of time spent staring at different necklaces that all looked the same and troubling his mother for advice until she hurled a wet sponge at his head.
***
When he was responding to the distress signal on his Omnitrix at the museum, Ben wasn't expecting to get attacked by a bunch of ninja that seemed to appear out of nowhere before disappearing into thin air.
You stared at the green tablet in the crate as you wondered just where you had seen the artifact before.
"It's the Hands of Armageddon." You explained, going through your database quickly to pull up all the information the plumbers had on it, "It's an artifact that was secured by the plumbers more than 2 centuries ago. It's said to be a crosstime gateway created by the Chronians, but we have yet to prove that. It's virtually indestructible though. The Plumbers have had multiple attempts and they all resulted in mass disasters."
You turned to Gwen, "The vision you saw was probably an alternate dimension—"
"Right as always, young (Y/N)."
Before the flash of light behind you could even disappear, you were pointing a gun at it, only lowering it when you saw Paradox emerge through the blinding light, accompanied by someone you'd never met before and yet, still recognized.
"Who's your friend?"
Ben stared at him with apprehension before realization struck him, "Are you?"
The man responded with a startlingly deep voice, "That's right, Ben, I'm you—only even more awesome."
You were hardly surprised, the man before you was a splitting image of your boyfriend and you averted your gaze to hide the oncoming heat to your cheeks at the sight of his beard and his stronger build. He certainly grew up nicely.
Ben 10k and Professor Paradox didn't waste any time and began to explain just what problems the group of you had somehow managed to get stuck in once again. As the four of you heard their explanations, you heard a slight sound coming from the back of the museum.
"Shh."
Ben 10k raised a brow at you, opening his mouth to say something when you shushed him again, with a fierce glare this time. It was only a second more before you were swerving around to point your gun at another intruder, a woman this time, who was pointing her own gun at you.
Your mouth dropped open in shock, faced with an older version of yourself.
She looked like you, that much was obvious, but she was also different, much more womanly than you were, with more rounded curves and a more matured face.
Recognizing her younger self, the you from the future lowered her own gun and placed it back into her holster, taking a look around the room and registering just how many faces were there.
"What the hell is she doing here?!"
She raised a brow at him, lips pursed in annoyance, "Excuse me?"
Paradox sighed, "I apologize for this, Ben, but this involves her future as well."
He gritted his teeth in fury, rolling his eyes, "That's just great."
You spared a glance at your boyfriend, whose face had fallen so far it looked like he had just had his heart broken.
Gwen sighed, whispering something that had only been audible, to him and you watched as his face fell deeper, "I tried to warn you, Ben."
***
Professor Paradox was one of the most infuriating people in the entire universe. You had gathered as much since the first time you had the displeasure of meeting him, but he seemed intent on reminding you exactly why you disliked him.
He spoke in riddles, appeared and disappeared as he pleased, never made any sense but expected everyone to listen to him with no explanation whatsoever.
And so, it didn't help your opinion of him when the cargo hull of the jet began rumbling, signalling intruders, that he was all too quick to disappear without bothering to help fight them.
You cursed out his mother in your head as he vanished within a flash of light, pocket-watch in hand and a quippy remark on his lips.
The ninjas began appearing out of nowhere and despite there being the five of you, you were confined to a small space, and they multiplied like pests until the whole hull was full of them. It obviously didn't help that Ben 10k chose then to transform into humungousaur, taking up the remaining of what little space you had.
You didn't even have enough time to come up with a good strategy before you were being attacked with multiple opponents at the same time. It didn't take much to disarm one of them, now using their own swords to attack them.
There were too many and they just kept appearing. Your eyes bounced around the room, trying to figure out how to get the upper hand in such a cramped space.
Your older self, having the same idea, sprinted across the room, disarming as many soldiers around her as she could. Although, there was something odd about the way she moved.
She was at the same strength level as you were. After 20 years, shouldn't she be more adept than you were? Ben was capable of using his arsenal of powers without even transforming into any aliens, but she didn't display any remarkable feat of strength.
It was almost as though she wasn't able to. An injury perhaps? Maybe she was still recovering? You bit your lip, slashing the sword through another ninja. If you could find out what caused it, maybe you could prevent it from happening to you.
"Stay out of this, (Y/N)!" Ben 10k snarled, voice booming through the room and causing slight vibrations in the metal due to his size.
You paused for a second, sharing a glance with your boyfriend, who seemed equally surprised. Your future self, unbothered, continued to stampede through the other opponents until she reached the switch to the hangar and flipped it open.
Immediately the hangar opened, and you braced yourself, holding onto Ben's car that had been strapped down. Ben had the same idea, holding onto the handles and pressing his front against your back, making sure you were both anchored down.
The ninjas flew out of the jet, the vacuum of wind deeming too much for them and you watched them disappear, one by one, as they capsized through the air before the hangar door finally closed again.
"What the hell were you thinking?! That was so incredibly reckless—"
"Stop talking to her like that!" Your Ben interrupted his future self, wedging himself in between your future counterparts and glaring at him, "You're acting like an ass instead of apologizing! If I were you, I'd be on my knees begging for her to take me back!"
"Take me back? What are you—We're not broken up!"
Ben's eyes widened at this before he turned to your future self, "And you'd stay with someone who'd treat you like that?"
The woman in question sighed, placing a soothing hand on his shoulder, "Try not to be too upset, Ben. He's not usually like this. He's just mad—"
"I'm not mad at (Y/N)." Ben 10k argued, crossing his arms and everyone raised a brow, they clearly didn't believe him. Your future self merely gave him a blank stare before he caved.
"Alright fine, I'm mad at you." Hardly a surprise, "Need I remind you that we just left our son all alone at our home that was just attacked by a bunch of ninjas?"
Ben's jaw dropped open hearing that. Our son? He had a son? With the love of his life no less? This whole time he thought that there was nothing but disappointment and heartbreak for your future together but now he's finding out that he had a family with the girl he was in love with?
Funny that it was only this morning he was claiming that he was too young to be thinking of such things and yet, the thought had his heart swelling.
"I checked on him before we left, no one even made it to the hallway outside his room. Besides, when we go back, we'll be taken to the exact moment we left, not even a fraction of a second later. Kenny will be fine."
"It would be nice if you could show some concern at least." He huffed, "You're not even worried about the fact that we just left our newborn alone. All you're thinking about is this mission and you're putting yourself at risk."
Future you rolled her eyes, sighing as she took a seat on ship, "Here we go again."
"Oh, forgive me for worrying about my wife. Where do I get the audacity?" Her husband shot a glare at her.
Gwen's eyes flitted between the two of them, only able to see the similarities between their relationship in the future and also in the present. Her cousin apparently got married and started a family with the girl she didn't think was good enough for him.
Would Ben still not be able to see what a mistake he's making, even after a decade? Or was she the one who wasn't able to see clearly?
"(Y/N), you just gave birth five weeks ago and you haven't fully recovered. You're supposed to be taking it easy, not fighting some crazed time traveller. "
No wonder she was moving at a slower rate than usual, she was still in her post-partum recovery. For a woman who just spent the last 10 months of her life growing and then providing for a living, breathing human, she fought impressively well. You mentally patted yourself on the back.
"Firstly, I can take care of myself. Secondly, Paradox didn't ask before zapping us back here."
"Fair enough but I want you to be on the sidelines for the remainder of the mission unless absolutely necessary." He folded his arms, giving a firm stare that meant he was being resolute. Your future self held his stare for a second before coming to the realization that not much would deter him.
She sighed, "Fine."
A pleased smile made its way to his face as he leaned down to kiss her forehead, "Excellent."
"You're a lot of work, Tennyson."
"Right back at you, Tennyson."
You spared a glance at your boyfriend, choosing to keep the information that you found his impish grin at the thought of a future with you adorable a secret and instead asked, "Did you really think that we had broken up in the future?"
His brows went toward his hairline, "You didn't? They were practically at each other's throats the whole time."
"Firstly, they're each wearing wedding rings, and second," You walked over to your future self, reaching for her collar and pulling out a familiar chain from underneath her shirt, "I saw this the second she got here."
Ben blushed, "You still wear it? It looks a little different though."
"I replaced the gem." She explained, toying with the pendant.
"Why?"
"It's her son's birthstone." "It's my son's birthstone." Both (Y/N)'s said in unison and the others gave you a bewildered stare.
"How'd you know?"
You shrugged, "Because that's something I would do."
***
Once again, you were all left in the middle of the desert at night after Paradox abandoned you one again and you continued your line of curses about his entire family in your head as you trudged back to the jet to call a team of plumbers to get you home as well as begin repairs to the jet that was damaged in the fight.
Kevin followed you closely to try and see if there was any way he could repair it just enough to get you back to Bellwood. Ben was about to enter as well when he was stopped by his cousin, who seemed sheepish enough that he immediately knew what the conversation was going to be about.
"I owe you an apology, Ben. I'm sorry for not trusting your judgment and for thinking the worst of you and (Y/N). You both make a cute couple."
He nodded, "It's okay, I didn't exactly have faith in my own relationship when I immediately concluded that they had broken up."
"I'm sure the conversation we had this morning didn't help either, don't feel too bad about it."
He nodded once again and they dissolved back into silence before she gave him a teasing smile, "So, a son, huh?"
His cheeks went warm, and he gave her a look mixed with both embarrassment and a little bit of pride, scratching the back of his neck with a meek chuckle, "Yeah, I always pictured myself as a girl dad though."
Her grin went even wider, and she laughed, "I thought you said you were too young to think about things like this?!"
***
*Exactly Twenty Years Later*
Ben peeked his head into the nursery to greet his beautiful son that was most likely asleep after being fed and changed, only to find the room empty and crib missing.
His mind knew that if his son wasn't in his crib then he would obviously be in the arms of his mother and yet, as he sped to your shared bedroom, he felt a slight panic thrum through his veins.
Everyone had brought this to his attention time and time again; that he had become extremely high-strung when it came to his family. Especially since you had gotten pregnant. It was only when his son was on the way did he realize just how fragile everything was and how quickly it could be ripped away from him.
He passed his arm over the sensor at your door, it immediately recognizing the signal from his Omnitrix and unlocking the door before entering, finding you settled on your bed, Kenny clutched close to your heart.
You watched him cross the bedroom in long strides and settle on the mattress beside you, saying nothing about the clear distress that you had seen on his face when the door opened before it was flooded with relief. You understood; you had felt the same way, which is why you had rolled your son's crib into your bedroom so you could keep a close eye on him for the rest of the night.
You turned your gaze back to the baby in your arms, gently tracing his features with the tip of your pinkie finger, watching with a deep fondness and adoration as Kenny's little face would scrunch up every time you caressed his button nose.
"He's okay, right?" Your husband questioned, needing your reassurance for the last bit of worry for his son to evaporate.
"You think I'd be sitting here without a care in the world if he wasn't?" You murmured, not lifting your eyes from his precious face.
Ben chuckled at this, "Yeah, like that time he got the hiccups, and you couldn't sleep the entire night because you kept checking on him in four-minute intervals?"
"What if his little diaphragm got fatigued?" You mumbled; brows furrowed at the thought. Constant hiccups were painful to deal with as an adult, you could only imagine how painful it would be for a baby who didn’t know what the pain was or how to communicate his pain to his parents.
Ben didn’t respond, already having been through this conversation with you the very night it happened.
The two of you continued to watch your son in silence, finding every single little breath he took interesting as you continued to graze your finger over his skin, now tracing the outline of his little lips, the bottom lip tucked tightly into his mouth as he slept.
Ben shifted closer to you, taking the two of you in his arms and pressing a kiss to the side of your head as one of his arms came to support yours and bear the weight of your son as well.
"I'm sorry for saying that you didn't care about Kenny and only the mission. I know you worry about him more than you express, and I appreciate everything you do for the both of us."
"You were just lashing out of worry." You replied, leaning against him, "It was the first time we both left our home without him, even though we didn't technically leave him alone for a second. I felt uneasy about it as well."
"Regardless, I shouldn't have said that you didn't care, Kenny and I know you love us."
"I do."
You quietened down immediately when your son took a big breath, slightly stirring before he fell back asleep, the littlest smile on his little face.

Batshit Soulmates Part 3
Hey guys! More of this delicious AU.
Steve is suffering under the effects of the truebond. And things get a little dire for Max, too.
In Medias Res| Prologue|Pt 1| Pt 2|
@mira-jadeamethyst @rozzieroos @itsall-taken @redfreckledwolf @emly03
****
Steve got back to his house and immediately stripped down to hop in the shower. He turned the water to as hot as it would go. He needed to drown out his thoughts and hot water would help with that.
He washed and conditioned his hair, allowing the conditioner to do its thing while he did the rest of his routine. Once he was done, he rinsed his hair.
He towel dried his hair, taking the time to squeeze out as much of the water as he could. He stopped himself as he realized what he was doing. He was primping for Eddie. A wanted fugitive who couldn’t care less what Steve’s hair looked like. He tried not primp when he got dressed. But he still managed to put on his nicest polo and tightest jeans, anyway. He did try to de-slut himself by adding the white undershirt.
Which of course made the polo tighter and thereby defeating the purpose. Steve just shrugged. Max was waiting for him and changing now would only waste time he really didn’t have.
****
Eddie was not having a good time. He was hungry and hunted and more than a little haunted. Sleep was fitful at best. He just hoped he wasn’t screaming in his sleep. That would have really brought him unwanted attention.
He tried find ways to entertain himself. Because if seeing Chrissy die like that didn’t make him crazy, being alone with nothing to do was going to drive him the rest of the way there.
He finally resorted to tossing bottle tabs, coins, and other small items into a cup to see how many he could get in.
Eddie was losing.
Suddenly there was the crunch of tires on gravel and he was on his feet in an instant. He grabbed his broken bottle and peeked out the window. He couldn’t see the vehicle that pulled up. Was it the cops? Someone else?
The door to the boathouse burst open and Eddie was sure his heart burst with it.
There standing in the doorway looking more than a little sheepish were his rescuers. Dustin, Robin, Max, and Steve bringing up the rear. Steve gave a little hand wave and he forced himself to breath normally again. He glared at them to know that what they did was a little fucked up.
They explained everything to him as simply as possible. Steve actually was kind and walked him through each new piece of information to make sure he understood.
Afterwards when they were getting ready to leave again, Eddie pulled Robin aside.
“Um...” he said rocking back on his heels, hands on his back, “so you’re running with Steve Harrington now?”
Robin opened her mouth the say something mean, but she knew what he was really asking. “Yeah, monsters and monstrous humans tend to make for great social glue.”
“And he knows...” he said trailing off. “He knows?”
She knew what he was trying desperately not to say. Did Steve know she was gayer than a May pole? She nodded. “Yeah. I know what he was like in high school, but he’s not like that anymore.”
Eddie nodded. “It’s just wild you know.”
“Having King Steve as your soulmate?” she asked tilting her head to the side.
He let out a shuddering breath and pressed his together. He closed his eyes and then opened them slowly. “How do you even deal with that?”
She shrugged. “I wouldn’t know.”
Eddie frowned. “You haven’t found your soulmate yet?” It was just surprising. Yeah, Steve and him hadn’t found each other until their late teens/early twenties. But that was rare.
She scoffed and rolled her eyes. “Oh no, I know who she is. Pretty sure she knows it’s me, as well, but she has decided that fellow band geek Robin Buckley just isn’t her flavor or such shit.”
His frown deepened. “It’s Vickie Cameron, isn’t it?”
Robin cocked her head to the side. “How did you know that?”
He opened his mouth and closed a couple of times before he said, “Look, the safest place to deal...” he gave her a pointed look warning her to keep her mouth shut.
She mimed zipping it closed.
“Is behind the community center next the swimming pool,” he explained. “I’d deal, use some of the money to cool off in the summer because my trailer ain’t great when it comes to not being as hot as the devil’s tit.”
Robin wrinkled her nose. “Ew.”
“The point is I saw her soulmark,” Eddie growled. “It’s a trumpet. On her shoulder. Right where I’m guessing there’s a clarinet on yours.” He nodded toward her. “What is she, homophobic or some shit?”
She shrugged. “Who the fuck knows. She doesn’t treat me badly and sometimes I even think she’s flirting with me, but she has a boyfriend who’s in college so...”
Eddie winced. “That sucks.”
Robin scoffed. “About as bad as learning your soulmate is your antithesis or whatever in the middle of another apocalypse.”
He could only agree, but they were getting off the topic at hand. “Has Steve said anything to you about being my soulmate?”
She sighed. “Only that it fucking sucked learning about it with a bottle pressed to his throat.”
Eddie sighed, too. “Look, I wouldn’t have done anything. I was scared and alone and jocks hate me. Like I thought Jason has sent him, okay?”
Robin blinked. “Oh because of the basketball thing?”
Eddie nodded.
“I guess that makes sense,” she said. “But he really fell from grace when Billy smashed in his head. He’s just this lovable goof with a heart of gold.”
She paused for a second.
“Like I think he always was.” She patted his shoulder and went to join the others.
Steve told the others to go out to the car and jogged back to Eddie.
“It’s too dangerous to move you right now,” Steve murmured. “But we’ll try to stay on the walkies, okay?”
Eddie nodded. “Just don’t forget I’m here, man.”
Steve gripped Eddie’s arms. “We won’t, but we have to find out what’s going on and we’re going to be spread pretty thin. I wish there was another way to do this.”
Eddie let out a long breath, not quite a sigh. “I’ll try, man. If you guys are right about all this shit, I’m really scared. Plus with the town thinking it was me...”
“We’ll figure it out,” Steve promised.
Eddie nodded again and settled down to wait it all out. At least he had food and drink, which was more than he had before.
****
All this running around looking for clues was shit on Steve’s nerves. He was close to screaming. He had almost taken Lucas’s head off when the kid came tearing around a blind corner at night in the high school they had just broken into.
And Robin was doing that thing she always does when faced with a pretty girl, flirt. Which considering said pretty girl was not only Steve’s ex, but already soulmated? Yeah, Steve was sure his breaking point was going to hit sooner rather than later.
It came when Max started rising in the air like some fucked up messiah. Because he could tell something was wrong he was able to get ahold of Robin and Nancy who told them about the music and Lucas was able to find her favorite song on her Walkman and play it for her, she didn’t get Vecna’ed or whatever the hell it was the kids were calling it.
Once she was safe he sat down on the ground hard and buried his head in his hands. He fought to breathe, barely making it through the gasps of sobs that were torn out of him.
How can they fight something that could take anyone of them at anytime? How is he supposed to protect the people he loves most from an unseen force?
He had to keep it together. For Max because she was the victim here. For Lucas because he almost had to watch his soulmate get ripped from him. For Eddie who was frightened beyond the pale. He had to be the strong one.
And then he felt warm arms around him.
“She’s safe now,” Dustin murmured. “We got to her in time because of you. That was scary as hell, but it would have been worse if you had listened to Lucas and me. A lot worse.”
Steve lifted his head and nodded. “Thanks, bud.”
Dustin helped him stand. “We have to get everyone together.”
Steve nodded. “I just wish there was to include Eddie without telegraphing to the asshats in town where he is.”
Dustin grimaced. “Yeah, but there isn’t.” He looked at Steve a moment. “How are you doing? I don’t think I’ve seen you like this before.”
Steve showed him his soulmark. It was black and angry.
“Why does it look like that?” Dustin nearly screamed.
Lucas and Max came running and they looked down at Steve’s mark, too.
“Shit,” Max hissed. “That’s not good. Why didn’t you tell anyone you and Eddie were true soulmates?”
Lucas and Dustin looked at her in shock.
“A what now?” Lucas asked, looking back and forth at Steve and Max in confusion.
“True mates,” Dustin said slowly in disbelief. “I’ve only read about those. They’re super rare.”
“It means,” Max hissed, “that Steve can’t be separated from his soulmate for long otherwise he gets super sick.”
“But only after they touch each other’s marks,” Dustin finished. “Why did you that? Why did you touch each other’s marks if that was going to happen?”
Steve huffed. “Because Dustin, you don’t know you’re true mates until after you touch.”
“Oh,” Lucas and Dustin said together.
“This is bad, Steve,” Max huffed ignoring the boys. “You have to get back to Eddie.”
Steve shook his head. “I can last a little bit longer. You’re in danger, Max. That’s more important than me.”
“But what about Eddie?” Dustin asked. “Won’t he get sick, too?”
Steve threw back his head and groaned. “I can’t take care of everyone at once. Plus, if I keep going back to the boathouse someone will see and come to check it out. That would do far more harm to Eddie than being a stupid true mate to someone like me.”
Dustin and Lucas glanced at each other and then each held out their hand to Steve. He took each of their hands and allowed the two boys to haul him to his feet.
“How close do you think you have to be to stop it from burning?” Dustin asked Max.
Max shrugged. “My mom and Neil aren’t truemates so I don’t know for sure. But a hell of a lot closer than cemetery to the lake.”
Dustin nodded. “Would Skull Rock be close enough?”
“Or even just driving past the lake might work,” Lucas suggested.
Steve hugged them both. “I’ll visit him tomorrow, we just need to get everyone else together to discuss what happened to Max.”
They all nodded.

clumsy boy
eddie munson x plus size!fem!reader
summary: Eddie's in love with the cute alt-girl that works at the local hobby shop.
cw: fluff, pathetic eddie is my favorite, r calls eddie a "good boy", sub!eddie
a/n: no one asked for this and I should be working on like three other things but 🤷‍♀️ oh well lol
-----
Eddie needs to find a new hobby shop to get his mini figs from if he intends on living past thirty. Every time he walks through those doors he makes a goddamn fool of himself because of you and one of these days he's going to die from sheer embarrassment.
He wished today would be the day he perishes, but no, you're standing there staring at him and the entire display of discounted figurines that somehow got knocked all over the floor. Eddie knows he's beet red, stammering like an idiot while you look at him with a face that can't choose between laughing, incredulity and possibly, hopefully sympathy.
"Need help finding anything?" The teasing tone in your voice makes Eddie blush harder. Jesus he's an idiot.
"N-no. Sorry I didn't- I mean I did but it was an accident," Eddie drops to his knees, picking up the mess of boxes strewn under the table of marked down paraphernalia.
"It's okay, dude. Happens all the time," you smile at him when he hands you each box. It's not butterflies in his stomach but dragons. They're either breathing fire or he has indigestion, either way his stomach rolls nervously every time you look at him.
"I doubt this happens every time," Eddie tries joking, picking up the last box as he stands up and hands it to you.
"Only when you're here. I was trying to be nice." The way you lick your black lipstick covered lips and let your hand linger on his does feel pretty nice. So nice, the nicest girl he's ever met.
"Thanks for your help..."
"Eddie. I'm Eddie," he tries a smile that he hopes doesn't look as erratic as he feels, his heart hammering wildly in his chest. This is the most you've spoken to him outside of saying your customary "Hello" when he enters the store and telling him his total at the register. Your slight, smirking smile back tells him he might've not been successful but he doesn't care. He'll keep looking like a dumbass if you keep smiling at him.
"Thanks, Eddie." You start to walk back to your post at the register before you stop and turn around. "Try not to knock anything else over, okay? I don't want to have to start charging you for damages every time you come in."
Eddie gulps as you walk back towards him. No, stalk back. Like a lioness and he's your prey. He wants you to eat him alive.
Jesus, Munson. Easy boy.
"And if you're trying to get my attention, you don't need to knock things over to get it."
You poke his chest with one painted black nail and smile at him again. Eddie practically melts into a puddle on the floor, not even bothering to hide the slack-jawed way he watches your hips sway as you walk away.
Eddie manages to find the things he needs between trying to will his boner away and replaying that interaction over and over. At the register, you scan his things, all your attention on doing your job while Eddie tries to remember how normal people breathe.
You hand over his things with a smile and tell him to have a nice day. Eddie trips over his feet looking over his shoulder at you as he leaves because he just can't help himself.
Once he's home, Eddie dumps out his things on his bed and grabs his paints. He's about to throw out the recepit when something catches his eye. It's a number. And a name. Your name. Eddie's heart falls out of his ass. You gave him your number. He should play it cool. Wait a few hours. Maybe a few days. He doesn't want to seem desperate.
Eddie's plugging in your number before he knows what he's doing.
"Hello?"
Fuck, it really is you.
"Hey, uh, it's Eddie. From the hobby shop. I broke all your stuff?" Eddie cringes, banging his head on the wall next to the phone.
"Oh I remember you, Eddie."
Your voice carries through the line and curls around him, warm and soft and he needs to say something before he's breathing into the phone like a creep. But you're way ahead of him.
"I'm glad you called, clumsy boy. I rented a movie but I don't have anyone to watch it with."
"Yeah?"
"Yeah, it's a real scary one too. Wanna come over and watch it with me?"
Eddie screams into his fist, thanking whatever otherworldly being has blessed him today.
"Sure, sounds fun," he says, cringing again at the way his voice cracks when he says "fun".
He can practically hear your smile over the phone as you give him your address, Eddie frantically writing it down in his nearly illegible handwriting on the edge of a takeout menu.
"See you soon, Eddie," you say before hanging up. Eddie clutches the menu to his chest and grabs his keys before floating out to his van.
Years later when you and Eddie own your own hobby shop, running games of D&D for local kids and selling comics and mini fics to your fellow freaks, Eddie asks you why you took a chance on a goof like him all those years ago.
"You really want to know, Munson," you tease as you run your fingers through his curls, sitting on the couch with him for your weekly scary movie night.
"I do," he smiles up at you from your lap. "I was pathetically in love with you, y'know?"
"Oh I knew," you laugh. "I saw you watching me every time you came in. You never hid it well."
"Pfft. I was a master of stealth."
"You failed every stealth roll, baby, don't lie."
"Then what?" Eddie huffs, crossing his arms.
"You, silly. The way you looked on your knees that day I gave you my number. All cute and flushed. I knew you'd be a good boy for me."
Eddie groans and rolls onto his side to bury his face in your soft tummy. "You're the worst."
"I'm right, though aren't I," you cackle at the way his face flushes, still in love with teasing him after all these years.
"You are, you terrible minx," Eddie looks up at you again and smiles, takes your face in his hand. "But I'm still desperately in love with you."
"Me too, clumsy boy. Me too."

- You have a lot more freedom. He will trust you to go on little walks and go out in public ( if he is with you )
- You could ask him to get you anything and somehow he will always get it for you. ( he might come back covered in blood but hey that’s not the point)
- You could mention someone who was mean to you 7 years ago and he will hunt them down and kill them in the worst possible way
- His jealousy lessens… slightly. He will allow you to befriend the other pastas (that he trusts at least)
- Will spoil you with material goods. Flowers, Jewelry, Fancy foods. WHATEVER you want is yours
- Is over the MOON if you initiate any type of physical affection
- You won’t be shackled to some random mattress on the floor he will do your room up very fancy. Posters, Pictures, any kind of things you like and you will have nicest bed
- Jack is probably more comfortable sharing things with you. What he does, his past, everything
- Will propose to you quickly. He’d probably pull out a ring pop first before pulling out an actual ring
Yandere Jack nsfw headcannons
[i already did a few but i’ll add some more]
- Much sweeter in bed with you, he will still be sadistic but there’s a lot of love and intimacy
- Your punishments will be not as harsh. He will still punish you but nothing that will hurt you permanently
- Will also spoil you in bed a lot more. Oral, Fingerings, lots of kisses and foreplay
- He has a big dick and since you’re so sweet to him he’s more likely to prep you and get you ready
- He will not sub but if you ask for anything specific he will do it
- Jack loves for you to mark him but he would also love if you would do the name. Love bites, Bruises, Scratches on his back!! They are all proof of your love to him
- Sex with him will still be rough but more slow and filled with a lot more praise

How I Think Tim Should Tell The Batfam He Lost His Spleen
Tim: Hey, you know how there are infinite universes and therefore infinite possibilities?
Jason: Where is he going with this?
Dick: Nowhere good.
Tim: And you know how there's probably a world out there that's the exact inverse of our world?
Steph: Yeah, definitely not something good
Tim: So that means there's a possible universe where I lost every organ but my spleen
Dick: What- and I mean this in the nicest way possible- the fuck??

Just a Kiss, Right?
Regina helps teach you how to kiss because you like Janis
“Oh my goodness I really like Janis but what if I’m a bad kisser like what if she gives me a chance and-“ your rambling is stopping by Regina putting a finger to your mouth “Y/n calm down, we can just kiss and I’ll tell you how you do” “This isn’t gonna make things weird between us right?” You say cautiously “Y/n, kisses don’t always have to mean you like someone like that, me, Gretch, and Karen practice kissing all the time, I know you like Janis and since you’re my friend I want to help you” Regina says trying to get you to chill out “Well…ok then” you both lean in and kiss it’s nice really nice you both pull away before the kiss can escalate in any way “Wow you’re a really good kisser y/n” Regina says wiping her smeared lipgloss of the bottom of her lip “Oh um thanks” you say blushing a little “um well I’m gonna go thank you so much Regina I really appreciate” you say pulling her in for a hug. “Of course any time, Bye y/n” she says as you leave, Regina calls Gretchen as soon as she hears the front door close down stairs
“Hey G what’s up?” Gretchen answers “Gretchen I have a problem” Regina says a little panicked “Gina what’s the matter? You didn’t kill anybody right?” Gretchen says really concerned do to Regina’s out of character behavior “What? no? I- I think I like…(y/n)” Regina says feeling a little anxious “Oh Gina you can’t like y/n that’s totally against the rules of feminism her and Janis are like practically dating and you just fixed your relationship with Janis you don’t want to ruin it that would be like super bad” Gretchen rambles “I know, can you just come over so I don’t have to be alone with my thoughts thinking about it is stressing me out” Regina says with a sigh “yeah I’ll be over in like 10 ish minutes, k?” Gretchen says grabbing her purse and heading to the door “ok see you soon bye” “bye” Regina hangs up and screams into her pillow “god damn it Regina why are you so stupid” she tells herself
———
‘Oh my god’ you thought ‘I can’t like Regina I like Janis like sooo much shes like the best thing to happen to me…but Regina I don’t know why I’m drawn to her and that kiss definitely meant something to me…what am I going to tell Janis “hey remember your best friend turned enemy turned friend again? Yeah well guess who has a crush on her? Me yup but like also have a crush on you” no that’s dumb’. Your phone buzzed which pulled you out of your thoughts
👾Janis💕: heyyy beautiful I miss you
(Y/N): aw Janis I miss you too
You’re heart was pounding trying to wrap your head around these feelings
———
“Maybe you should talk to Janis about this” Gretchen says earning a shocked look from Regina “look I know you might think it’s a bad idea but I think if you’re honest with her and yourself, you’ll feel better” “Gretch, I mean this in the nicest way possible and you know I’m trying to be nicer but that is a horrible idea” Gretchen sighed “Regina” “ugh fine I’ll talk to her”
Reg👛: hey Janis can we talk
J👾: um sure what’s up? Is this a call or text or in person situation?
Reg👛: um call or in person but if it’s in person you can’t get mad at me
J👾: reg what’s going on?
Reg👛: can you just come over to my house please
Janis was definitely concerned, Regina said please and wants to talk to her. Janis quickly got ready and headed over to Regina’s house on her skateboard
“Ok I’m gonna go call me after you talk to her for a debrief” Gretchen said hugging Regina “I don’t even know what to say” Regina complained “just be honest, you got this Gina” Gretchen says pulling away from the hug “bye Gretch” Regina said with a sigh
———
Shortly after Gretchen left there’s a knock at the front door. Regina heads down stairs and answers it. “Janis, wow you got her fast” “uh yeah hi, what did you want to talk about?” Janis said leaning in her board “oh um right, let um go to my room” Regina said awkwardly, alarming Janis slightly but still following Regina upstairs. The enter Regina’s room and she closes the door. “Ok don’t get mad and don’t freak out, ok?” Regina said hesitantly “ok…?” Janis said confused but wanting to know what Regina has to say “ok so I know (Y/N) likes you and I’m pretty sure you like her too which makes sense but I decided to help her out because she was worried about being a bad kisser and you know I help Gretchen with that all the time but with (Y/N) it felt different my whole body was like tingly in a good way and I think I have a crush on her which is honestly really weird because I haven’t felt like this since- “ Regina paused her rambling and made eye contact with Janis realizing the feelings that she thought were gone flooded back like they never left “since us…?” Janis said “yeah” Regina said softly “so we both like y/n, that’s ok, feelings aren’t something you can control Reg, I’m not mad at you for liking her she’s awesome” Janis said calmly “J I- never mind” Regina said too scared to continue which was weird given her usual confidence “Reg you gotta be completely honest with me for us to work, so what is it talk to me?” Janis said putting a gentle hand on Regina’s knee to show she’s not trying to be threatening “J I think my feelings for you never went away but that doesn’t make sense because how could I like y/n and you, you can only like one person at a time” Regina said starting to be more confused with herself and feelings “that’s actually not true, you can like a lot of people, it’s called being polyamorous, I’m polyamorous” Janis said a little nervous “wait really?” Regina said with a slight head tilt “yeah, also I think I still have feelings for you too which I have definitely been trying to ignore” Janis said looking down at her hands “wait what? Really? Don’t mess with me Janis that’s not funny” Regina said getting defensive “Reg, chill” Janis said putting her hand on Regina’s thigh. Regina’s breath hitched in her throat as she looks down at Janis’ hand then back up at Janis “J, I um” Regina said blushing “oh um sorry I didn’t um” Janis said pulling her hand off of Regina, Regina stopped her and and said “Janis can I um can I kiss you?” Janis nodded starting to lean in for a kiss, Regina connected their lips the same spark Regina felt earlier with y/n was there again but with Janis. They both pulled away “wow” Janis said blushing “you’re good at that” Regina giggled
*buzz* *buzz* Regina’s phone vibrated, it was y/n calling
“It’s y/n” Regina said to Janis “answer it” said Janis “ok” Regina said answering the call
“Hello?” “Hey Gina um can we talk about are um kiss from earlier?” You said worried she be mad about you bringing it up “yeah what’s up?” Regina said “um I think it meant something to me and I’m kind of hoping it meant something to you too? Also I have to be honest I still like Janis so i don’t know I feel really confused” you said freaking out a little “hey y/n” Janis said making you freak out more “JANIS?!?!” “The one and only” you couldn’t see her but you could hear the smirk on her face the way she said it “did you um hear everything I just said?” You said sounding worried “yeah but I also heard Regina have a very similar freak out a few minutes ago so don’t worry” “wait what?” “I like you y/n…and I also like Janis” Regina said “WAIT SO WE ALL LIKE EACH OTHER?” Happy shocked “Yeah” Janis said with a small laugh “um y/n you should come over to my place, Janis is already here and I feel like maybe we should um just like all be together right now you to like figure out what this means for us?” Regina suggested “um yeah absolutely I’ll be there soon” you said putting on your shoes
———
*knock* *knock* “hey y/n” Janis says as she opens the door looking you up and down slowly “h-hi” you said blushing slightly
A/N: does this suck or should I write a part 2?

You hated your ex with a passion. You knew what he was doing the second you saw his arm around Allison freaking Simpson. Not only was she the dean’s daughter, but she was also one of the top students of their class.
In other words, she was everything you were not. Your ex was trying to prove a point and you hated that it was working.
Deep breathes, you remind yourself, thinking back to the meditation classes you took over the summer.
Your eye twitches at the sound of Allison’s obviously over exaggerated giggles. Tyler Jacobs was not that funny.
“He’s not worth your time,” a soft voice from beside you interrupts your glaring.
It was a girl you recognized from your classes over the years. Quiet, yet incredibly smart and snarky when need be. You’ve never actually talked to her much, but she was thoughtful and much more tolerable than a majority of your peers.
“You used to date Tyler Jacobs, right?” Apparently, she was also very observant.
You cringe at that. “Unfortunately.”
She hums, before returning her gaze to her notes. “I mean this in the nicest way possible, but you could do much better.”
Now that makes you laugh. “Thanks,” you send her a genuine smile.
You knew she was right. You could do so much better. Tyler was all you’ve known. Dating since high school, prom king and queen, the whole cliche. You just needed to expand your horizons.
After another grueling hour and a half of listening to your professor talk about god knows what, you’re more than relieved to finally be released from class.
The girl beside you packs up with haste, almost like she has somewhere to be.
“Hey, Ace, tell that boyfriend of yours that he can suck my dick!” Tyler yells after her.
“Go screw yourself, Jacobs,” she replies with a flash of her finger.
You wrap your arm around her, noticing the tension in her shoulders as you deliberately announce, “I’ve seen it and trust me, your boyfriend would not be impressed.”
The people around you snicker, making Tyler’s face turn red, and you smirk in satisfaction.
The girl, who you remember was called Ace, is laughing as you guide her out of the lecture hall.
“His face was priceless!” Ace says between laughs.
You shrug with a smile. “I only said what’s true!”
Ace shakes her head. “Amazing.”
A call of her name distracts her, and you both turn to see a tall, blond man jogging toward the both of you.
You won’t lie. He was incredibly good looking. But the way his gaze was set on Ace told you all you needed to know. “The boyfriend, I’m assuming?”
He wraps Ace up in his arms and she playfully rolls her eyes at his display of affection.
“The one and only,” he grins. “Jake Seresin, pleasure to meet you. It’s so nice seeing you branch out, Ace. She is so anti-social, I swear,” he murmurs from the side of his mouth.
She scoffs, smacking her boyfriend on the arm. “Shut up!”
You laugh along with the duo, your heart aching at how in love they were. Even if they didn’t know it yet, you could tell they would be together for a long time. You had a knack for noticing those kinds of things–relationships that were meant to last and matchmaking. You take pride in the fact that you were the one to set up your old high school math teacher with your favorite art teacher. Now, they were happily married and had two kids with one more on the way.
The one person you were unable to help in the love department, however, was yourself. How absolutely ironic.
You used to think Tyler Jacobs was the one. You imagined the two of you growing old together, having kids, and telling them the stories of how the two of you fell in love. Being with him since your freshman year of high school and knowing him since kindergarten made you truly believe that he was the love of your life.
Up until a month ago, when everything came crashing down and everything you thought you knew turned out to be a lie.
“Hey, you should come to the Delta Chi party this weekend,” Jake offers, noticing the sudden lull in conversation.
Ace nods with a smile. “Yeah, something to take your mind off that ex of yours.”
You eye Jake, unable to contain your growing grin. “A frat party?”
Jake winks. “Only the best frat on campus.”
Ace was right, you needed to take your mind off Tyler. You wanted to prove that you didn’t need him–that you never did. Besides, when did you ever say no to a party? “Alright, I’ll be there.”
»»————- ♣︎ ————-««
You’ve been to so many parties, the sweaty bodies and loud music no longer deter you.
Pushing your way through the crowd, you say hi to some familiar faces as you make your way to the drinks.
One of the Delta Chi guys gives you a cup full of cheap beer, which you gladly accept. You continue to wander around the house, only being there once before. With Tyler.
Just even thinking of him makes you nauseous. Downing the rest of your cup, you go back to the keg, desperate for another drink.
Two becomes three.
Three becomes four.
Until, eventually, you’ve lost count and the only thing you can feel is the warmth of the alcohol and the beating of the bass in your chest.
You hardly remember Tyler and Allison nor the aching heartbreak you’ve been going through for over a month now.
It was just you and the dance floor. And maybe a few frat guys and sorority girls you didn’t know the names of but danced with anyways.
Your cup was empty again and you groaned at the realization. You stumble your way back to the drink station, no longer able to control your heavy footsteps and swinging limbs.
Your vision is so hazy that you don’t see the body you haphazardly bump into.
“Holy shit!” the person says as you catch yourself on the table.
He turns around with wide, doe-like eyes. Even through the horribly lit area and hue from the alcohol, you could tell that the guy in front of you was hot. His slightly curly hair was plastered to his forehead through the sheen of sweat that glistened on his skin. You could tell he was muscular, even under the ridiculous Hawaiian shirt he was wearing. And his eyes… you couldn’t pinpoint the exact color they were due to the poor lighting, but they were what you would describe as kind.
He gapes at you like a fish out of water. You catch yourself giggling at his flustered state.
“Are you some kind of good luck charm or something?” He blurts out.
“What?” you slur. You boldly grab his forearm in order to steady yourself from swaying too much. You bite your tongue to hold back a sigh as the smell of cinnamon and faint cologne floods your senses.
“I said, are you some kind of good luck charm or something? Because I just won that shit!” He gestures sloppily to the table where a game of beer pong was set up.
“No way!” You bounce on your toes, feeling giddy from the excitement oozing off the guy in front of you.
He nods vigorously. “I was about to make that shot, but then you bumped into me and I still got it in. That was awesome. You are a good luck charm! You’re like a… like a…”
Your eyes light up as he continues to think. “Like a four leafed clover?”
He snaps his fingers. “Yeah!”
A mischievous grin tugs at your lips while your fingers tug your shirt upwards. Rolling the loose tee you have on so it’s resting just right above your bra, you turn. “You mean like this?”
His gaze zeroes in on the image inked below your right breast, on the edge of your rib cage. There lies a delicately etched four leaf clover.
The tug in your chest is palpable. The pull this guy has on you is strange, yet welcomed. It was unlike anything you’ve felt before, even with Tyler. You wanted to beckon him closer. You wanted him to take his fingers on his large hand and delicately trace the outline of where you are most vulnerable.
Your grip on your shirt loosens as it rolls back down your chest to your abdomen, suddenly feeling self conscious of how forward you were. Great, you just met the guy and now you’re gonna scare him away.
He opens his mouth to speak, gaze glancing back up to meet yours, clearly rendered speechless by the unexpected action before him.
“Yo, Rooster! Come on, someone’s trying to beat your time on the keg!”
He’s interrupted by another guy who shakes his shoulders and pulls him away without another word.
He gives you one last look over his shoulder, one apologetic and full of longing before you lose him in the crowd.
Rooster. What a strange nickname.
You just hope your sober self remembers it tomorrow.

Bradley can’t tell if the pounding is in his head or coming from his bedroom door. His head feels like a bowling ball and he can barely open his eyes without feeling like he was getting stabbed through his skull.
He rolls over, throwing his pillow over his head. He prays that whoever is on the other side of the door gets the hint and leaves him alone.
Much to his dismay, the person ends up inviting themself in anyway.
“Rise and shine, sleeping beauty! Welcome back to the land of the living,” Jake’s irritating Texas drawl rings through his ears.
Bradley groans, tossing his pillow lamely at him. “Go. Away.”
“No can do, Bradshaw. Up! Up! Up!” He shouts, clapping his hands in front of Bradley’s face like a drill sergeant.
Bradley wishes it were Jake in his place right now. In another time, it was Jake that was in his place. Bradley would be the one ushering him and his latest fling out of bed. When he started dating Ace, Jake changed. She straightened him up—made him lose the fuck boy act and be more respectful. Now it was time for Jake to have his fun. He hates how much Jake is enjoying Bradley being on the other end of the stick.
“Go away before I rip your dick off,” Bradley threatens with narrowed eyes.
Jake doesn’t take Bradley’s comment the way he wanted him to. His cackle and the rush of sunlight that enters the room makes Bradley whine pathetically. Even with his eyes squeezed shut, the light from outside was burning through his eyelids.
“Reuben cooked breakfast. Hurry up if you want to eat anything other than bread crusts,” Jake announces before, not so softly, shutting his bedroom door.
Bradley throws his pillow back over his head to block out all the light and sighs. Every time they host a party, he swears that he won’t drink too much. And every time without fail, he ends up blackout drunk and in bed with a sorority girl. Which is why he’s surprised that, for once, he can actually remember the night before. There wasn’t much significance to last night. Just like any other Friday, Delta Chi was throwing another rager. All his friends were there as well as the usual sororities. However, last night at the beer pong table was embedded into his mind.
He could still smell the perfume of the girl he recalls being his good luck charm. He could see her bright smile and the tattoo she willingly flashed at him. A dopey smile tugs at his lips as he reminisces about last night.
His euphoric haze is cut short when he realizes he never even got your name. Bradley didn’t know who you were or who you were with. He finds himself getting more of a headache trying to remember if he has ever seen you at any of the Greek life events on campus. He doubts you were in a sorority. He’s sure he would’ve remembered seeing a face like yours.
The best thing he could do is ask if anyone knew a girl with a clover tattoo, but even that would probably get him nowhere.
The pounding in his chest didn’t settle as he continued to relive the interaction from the night before. If only he hadn’t been pulled away by Omaha, he probably would’ve mustered up enough courage to get your name and number. He maybe would have even asked you out on a date. But he was whisked away in an instant. After the fiasco at the keg, Bradley wandered around the house trying to find you, with absolutely no luck. He didn’t understand what it was, but he was convinced that he needed to see you again. He had to.
Even in his hung over state of mind, Bradley was on a mission. First, he was going to sober up and shower. Then was going to find his four leafed clover.

Word count: 5.6k
A/N: Thank you so much for all the support and praise I got on the last part! This idea has been rattling around in my head for ages and I was going to leave it out but then decided to write it anyway just to see how it came out and here it is. Sorry it took me so long, hope you enjoy! Part 9 here.
Consider buying me a coffee :)
The sudden burning happiness the two of you created was glorious. It almost didn't feel real. It was sudden and unexpected. But there wasn't a single thing in the world that you'd trade for it and you hoped that Simon felt the same. You assumed he did.
And your assumption would be correct. Although, the man would never voice it to you openly. Instead, he showed it through his actions, the way he looked at you and other small things he said. But it was perfect that way. The two of you were happy, and that was all that mattered.
"Y'know... you have the nicest eyes, like, ever!" The two of you were on your sofa. Well, Simon was sat on your sofa and you were on his lap, leg either side of his thighs and facing him. You had your hands on his face, palm on each cheek, to keep him looking at you. You often did this, just sat together content with nothing but the other’s company.
His grip on your hips tightened in warning. He still couldn't take a compliment. "Flattery will get you nowhere, Sarge."
"Oh, please. It's gotten me everywhere. Especially with you." You grinned at him, staring more intensely at his eyes. "They're so dark and warm and... deep. Could just drown in 'em. And your eyelashes. So fair and beautiful."
He huffed, moving his gaze away from you.
"No, no. Eyes on me." You whined, gleeful when he reluctantly looked back at you. "You need to learn how to take a compliment. Because I can't stop."
"And what are you going to do if I don't? Hm?"
You considered it, pondering on what you could possibly say to him that would entice him to learn how to take a compliment. Your fingers tapped mindlessly against the skin of his face as you thought about it.
He pulled your hips further against him to gain your attention. It worked. "I can hear the cogs in your brain turning. You don't need to think that hard to come up with some way to torture me into submission."
With a smirk, you leant towards him. So close that your noses almost touched. "Interesting choice of words there, Simon."
"You know what I mean." He rolled his pretty eyes.
"Yes, I do. Too bad. I'd torture you into submission if you wanted me to." You said in a fake nonchalant voice, focusing your attention behind him on nothing in particular.
He paused, mouth hanging open for a second. "I will keep that in mind."
You smiled at him, going in for a kiss when your phone started ringing. "Oh, for fuck's sake."
"Don't answer it." Simon pleaded with you, trying to guide his lips to yours.
"I have to. It's about tomorrow." You groaned, reaching for it on the other end of the sofa and answering it with an over enthusiastic tone in your voice. "Hey! What's up?"
The day out that you'd promised your friends' kids had finally been organised. You were due to pick them up at nine in the morning the next day, and take them wherever they desired to go. As you usually did. The only difference this time being that you were taking Simon along with you.
"Yes, it's all good. We'll do what we usually do. I'll drive to yours and leave the car. Then I'll use the minivan. It'll be fine. I've done this how many times now? And I'll have Simon with me this time. Extra support. Don't worry so much. I'll keep them safe. It'll be fun. Okay? Yeah? Alright. I'll see you in the morning. Yeah, he's here. She says hi."
Simon just nodded at you as he continued to watch the phone conversation play out, only having access to one end of it.
"Yes, okay. I know. Yep. Alright. Okay. Bye. No, yeah. Fine. Bye. Bye..." You finally got to hang up with an exaggerated sigh, slumping against Simon's chest. "I hope you're prepared for tomorrow."
"Six kids and only two of us? Sounds like a blast." He'd agreed because he didn't want to spend a second away from you anymore, let alone a whole day. Also, the children were nice. He could handle helping look after them for a day.
"It'll be easy peasy. I've been doing it alone for ages. Extra man power now with you means it'll be a breeze. Teamwork, y'know?"
Teamwork.
He smiled. "I know."
"I love it when you smile." Your index finger traced along his lips, outlining the expression of happiness he was showing you.
"Just for you, Sarge." He kissed the pad of your finger, resisting the urge to bite it playfully.
You chuckled quietly, pressing your mouth to his. "I'm so lucky."
"Think I'm the lucky one." He mumbled against your lips.
You pulled away reluctantly. “I suggest we go to bed now if we want to be awake and prepared for tomorrow.”
It wasn’t necessarily early to be going to bed or anything, just that the two of you usually spent your nights talking into the early hours of the morning. Or doing other things…
“Christ, you look as if I just offered to castrate you or something.” You giggled, pushing yourself off of Simon’s lap to stand up. “Come on, I’ll read you a bedtime story.”
“Ha ha.” He laughed sarcastically but took your hand and followed you to the bedroom anyway. He’d been spending every night there since New Year’s Day, only returning home briefly every few days to pick up a fresh set of clothes. Basically, the two of you had barely spent any time apart since he’d kissed you for the first time. And neither of you were complaining.
The two of you got ready for bed silently, standing at the sink together to brush your teeth and removing your dirty clothes from the day to put in the laundry. You crawled into bed together without a word said and assumed the position you took every night - chest to chest with you slightly lower in the bed so you could look up at him and rest your head in the crook of his neck if you needed to. Simon’s arms were wrapped around you, hands tracing patterns against your skin, and your fingers carded through his hair. It was a way for you to seek comfort in the other without having to say anything.
And you often started the day in the same way as you had on New Year’s Day - him spooning you and using the cuddling as the best position to fuck you. It was perfect every time.
Tonight though, the blond man could tell you weren’t as relaxed as usual.
“What’s wrong, Sarge?” He asked, tilting your chin up to look at him. “Hm?”
“Nothing.” You grumbled, hooking your leg over one of his to get as close as possible to him. “Don’t want tomorrow to be too much for you, is all.”
“Ah, so you’re overthinking.” He offered, pressing a kiss to your forehead when you admitted it with a single nod. “Don’t. It’ll be fine.”
“Mhm.” You hummed, still not looking sure.
“You said earlier that it will be a breeze. What changed your mind?” One of his hands curled around the back of your thigh, pulling you impossibly closer to him.
“The kids will be a breeze to look after, they’ll be on their best behaviour.”
“Then what?”
“I’m concerned for you.” You said, averting your eyes from his. “They’ll be energetic and you’re… not. Spending a whole day with them will be exhausting. And I know you get over socialised.”
His heart tugged in his chest at how you were worried about him. He was so absolutely, completely fucked. “It’ll be okay, Sarge. As long as you’re by my side, it’ll be okay.”
You brightened at that. “Yeah?”
“Yeah.” He confirmed with a lingering kiss, tongue meeting yours to solidify his point further. “Now go to sleep. Long day ahead tomorrow, remember?”
You shook your head, teasing smile on your lips as you wound your arms around the back of his neck. “Nuh-uh. One more.”
He obliged and kissed you again, ignoring the previous statement of “one more” as it turned into many more and eventually led to him on top of you, dog tags dangling in your face.
When you both awoke the next morning to your blaring alarm, you didn’t have time to go about your usual routine of him taking you from behind. And you both hated it as you dragged yourselves out of bed and got ready for the day ahead. Despite the two of you being used to early starts when on duty, you’d grown used to sleeping in wrapped in each other’s arms and only getting up when you really needed to.
As he rummaged through his bag, Simon realised he only had one set of clothes left. He’d need to go home later in the day to pick up some more, he noted to himself.
With bleary eyes and two to-go cups of coffee clutched in your hands, you met Simon at the front door and gratefully accepted his offer to drive as you left to pick the kids up. You loved the children, you really did, and you’d promised them a day out but you were regretting that decision now. All you wanted was lazy days with Simon before reality set in again. Yet, here you were - about to spend the next eight or so hours constantly counting the amount of kids you had at your side in an effort not to lose any of them.
When you arrived at your friend’s house, you barely had any time to get out of the car before she was rushing out of her front door frantically with six pairs of feet scuttling behind her.
“Ah! You’re here!” She cheered, a manic smile on her face. She looked tired. The children that weren’t hers had stayed overnight for a sleepover in order to make pickup easier for you. You were guessing she didn’t handle it all that well. “Here are the keys to the minivan.”
A set of keys was shoved into your hands as she whirled around on the children, chimed a quick goodbye and disappeared back into the house without another word.
The kids all looked up at you expectantly, bags on their backs and wide smiles.
“Hello, gremlins. Did you all behave yourselves last night?” You asked, hands on your hips to tell them you wanted a truthful answer.
“Yes.” They giggled in unison.
“Good.” You grinned and reached out to grip Simon’s arm. “You all remember my friend, yes?”
They nodded and waved at him. He, adorably, waved back.
“He’ll be coming with us today. Which reminds me… where are we going today? Have you all decided?” You asked as you began to herd them towards the minivan.
“Aquarium!” One of them shouted.
“Hmmm, and you all agreed?” You questioned and they nodded, climbing into their seats in the back of the minivan. “Great! Come on then, let’s get going.”
The last one was buckled in and you slammed the door on them, turning to Simon with a nervous smile.
“Ready for this?”
His large hands cupped your cheeks. “So ready.”
“You’re very confident.” You teased, leaning into his touch as he bent down to kiss you.
“With you by my side, Sarge, I’m ready for anything.” It was mumbled against your lips, noses nudging together.
“Romantic piece of shit.” You bit back but accepted his kiss, fists curling into the material of his shirt. You pulled away suddenly. “This is not family friendly.”
He suddenly straightened up, gaze glancing towards the windows of the minivan which were, unfortunately, tinted so he couldn’t tell whether the children had been watching. “Fuck, sorry. Got carried away.”
You laughed and rounded to the driver’s side of the minivan. “I’m flattered, Riley. Come on.”
Simon climbed into the passenger side and he thought that the two of you had gotten away with it until one of the kids shot forward in their seat. "Errr, you two can't kiss!"
You rounded on them with a gasp. "Nosy! And who said?"
"You're not married!"
"Unmarried people can kiss." You told them, sticking the keys into the ignition and turning the radio down low.
"What?!" The children gaped at you. “But why would you want to?”
You laughed. “Because kissing people you like can be nice.”
“So you like Simon?”
“Yes.” You replied, looking at them in the rear view mirror.
“Like like him?”
“Yes, like like him.” You smiled at the man in question, enjoying the way he avoided your eyes for once.
“Oh. Okay!”
“Alright.” You sighed and checked directions to the nearest aquarium on your phone.
"Mr Simon?" One of the kids dragged out his name in a whine.
"Yes?" He mocked their tone, eyes meeting yours as he stopped himself.
"Why did you put your tongue in her mouth?"
He froze, desperately looking at you for an answer. But you just cackled for a moment.
"Uhh..."
"Ask your parents when you're older." You offered out, patting Simon's thigh reassuringly. "Alright, let's get going!"
The subject was dropped after that, the children too excited for their day out to care any more about you and Simon kissing. He was relieved.
He stayed silent for the whole drive, just listening to the stories that the kids had to tell you and your enthusiastic responses to them. No wonder you were so good at keeping the team upbeat and managed to match Soap’s energy. You had training.
When you reached the aquarium and got out of the vehicle, you set out some ground rules.
“Okay, so… no running off, make sure you can see either me or Simon at all times, no talking to strangers unless you’re asking a question to someone who works in the aquarium. And how can you tell if someone works in the aquarium?”
“Blue uniform!” They called out to you.
“Yes, great! If you need the toilet then let me know straight away so we can find one, no tapping on the glass or putting your hands into tanks, keep your bags on your backs and most importantly… have fun and learn lots! Now, everybody find a partner.”
This was a standard rule you had every time you went out with them. If they each had a partner then it was easier to keep them all in check. Besides, it gave them someone to talk to for the whole day instead of fighting for your attention.
There was a light tapping on the side of Simon’s thigh. He looked down to find one of the kids staring up at him hopefully. It was the same one that had come to collect him at the Christmas party when you needed help in the kitchen.
"Will you be my partner, Mr Simon?" He squeaked, clearly nervous for some reason.
Simon looked to you for reassurance and found you nodding encouragingly. So he looked back to the small child. "Sure, kid."
What he didn't expect was to have to hold hands with him, but he didn't protest. Especially when he saw the look on your face, like you were proud of him.
"Okay, everybody?" Your hand was linked with one of the other children's. "Ready to go?"
They all chimed in with a "yes" so you started walking, leading the way with Simon at the back to keep the group together.
You paid entry for the group of you, getting a map for you and activity books for the kids, and made your way into the building.
“There’s a piranha feeding soon, do you want to go?” You asked everyone and they all nodded.
You led the way towards where it was supposedly happening and joined the side of a large group of people who had already gathered to watch. It didn’t take long before a man walked out with a bucket of something that smelt bad and grinned at the group, tapping at the side of the microphone attached to his face.
“Hello, ladies and gents! How are you today?”
The children in the crowd sent him variations of hellos and other greetings, wide eyes set on the tank of fish behind him.
He started off by ladling scoops of something into the tank, pointing out the reaction of the fish as he did so. Then he turned to the crowd with a mischievous smile. “Anyone like to volunteer to help?”
Several small hands shot up as children begged to be involved but then lowered back down sadly when the man had to explain that this was an adults-only opportunity.
“Come on, parents. Show your kids you can be cool for a day.” His eyes locked on Simon suddenly. “Maybe a big, strong man to help, hm?”
You pushed him forwards, urging him to do it. “Come on, Simon Swayze. Feed the piranhas.”
He stepped forward hesitantly, hissing over his shoulder at you. “I hate you.”
“Ooh, very big, strong man.” The man’s eyes trailed up and down Simon’s towering figure, gaze flicking to you behind him and scanning over all of the children. "Well, you two have been busy."
You laughed. "Not ours actually. We're babysitting."
The man looked to Simon disbelievingly, dropping the ladle back in the bucket with a comedic plop. "What's wrong with you, man? Get on with it!"
Simon said nothing in return, his own eyes widening slightly at basically being told to impregnate you as he stepped forward further to help with the feeding. When he was handed a set of tongs, he didn’t look thrilled.
“So, just pick up a piece and drop it in gently. Yeah?” The worker explained.
“Yeah.” Your lieutenant replied, doing as he was told.
“Yay, Simon!” The kids chimed and you noticed the way he relaxed at their encouragement. He rushed through the rest of it and was thankful when the feeding was over and he was set free, coming back to you and suggesting that you move on to look at another enclosure. You didn’t comment on the fact that he appeared to be scared of the tiny fish he’d just been feeding.
The day went quickly, stopping briefly in the middle for lunch, and soon enough you were driving back to take the kids home with all of them asleep in the back of the car.
“What was your favourite thing we saw today?” You asked, head tilted back as far as possible without hindering your view on the road.
“Jellyfish. Yours?” Simon replied, hand on your thigh sliding up and down your leg.
“Seahorses. Why the jellyfish?”
“They float around happily doing nothing. Seems like a peaceful existence.” He explained, thumb circling against your skin. “Why seahorses?”
“They’re cute.” You said meekly, not as confident in your response as his.
“That’s a good enough reason.” He told you, squeezing your thigh gently.
You hated to wake the children up when you got back but it had to be done. They were ushered back inside the house, ready for their parents to pick them up or have dinner, after hushed goodbyes and tired hugs. The last child, the one who seemed to have taken a particular interest in Simon, refused to get out of the car awake. So Simon offered to carry him inside the house and meet you back in your car. You just nodded, surprised at the suggestion.
Once he’d placed the mostly unconscious kid on the sofa and turned to leave, he finally got a coherent sentence out of him. “If you like like her and like to kiss her then maybe you should marry her, Mr Simon.”
Kids really did say whatever came into their heads.
He said nothing and left quietly, saying a quick goodbye to your friend and nodding quickly when she asked if it was going well between the two of you. He didn’t want to talk about it with anyone other than you.
You stuck your head out of the car window just as their front door shut and your tall lieutenant trotted towards you. "Come the fuck on, Simon.”
"Did you just make a Bridget Jones reference?"
You raised your eyebrows at him. "Did you just understand the Bridget Jones reference?"
"Secret sappy rom-com lover, remember?" He said as he climbed into the passenger seat of the car, pointing at himself wearily.
“Ah, how could I forget? One of the many reasons I like like you.” You sighed and started the car, the two of you speeding away back to your place.
When you got back, Simon headed towards the bathroom for a shower, mumbling something about needing more clothes. You just went to your room and collapsed onto your bed, eyes closed and listened to the sounds of the water hitting the bathtub in the next room over.
You don’t know how long he was in there, drifting in and out of sleep, only taking notice when the water stopped and the bathroom door opened.
Simon walked into your bedroom slowly, hair dark and damp from the shower and t-shirt hanging loosely on him. That sight certainly woke you up. You could just devour him.
"Good shower?" You asked and he hummed with a small nod as you pushed yourself up on your elbows. "Are you hungry?"
"A little. You?" He sat on the bed next to you, sidling up close. Now that he had plenty of access to it, the man loved physical contact.
"I could wait." You trailed your fingertips lightly up the side of his arm, the implication clear.
"Well, what do you want to do? To build up your appetite, I mean?" He knew. He always knew.
"You look good with wet hair." You whispered, not looking in his eyes.
"Yeah?"
You nodded, teeth sinking into your bottom lip to contain your smile. "You look good always. You also look good caring for six kids."
"Sarge?" He tapped the bottom of your chin with his finger to encourage you to look up at him. "If you want to have sex then just say so."
You rolled your eyes. "I was trying to seduce you by showering you in flattering compliments."
He rolled his right back at you. "You don't need to seduce me."
Your eyes widened in embarrassment. "Oh, god... am I not seductive?"
"What?" He frowned, not understanding where you got that conclusion from.
"I mean, like, am I not... y'know?" You gestured at yourself with wiggling hands.
"I do not know." He really didn’t.
You huffed. "Am I not seductive? Or sexy? Or... foxy? Whatever the youth are saying these days."
"The youth?" He deadpanned.
"I never thought about it really. Am I just embarrassing myself when I try to be flirty?” Your hands clutched at your head. “Oh, fuck me."
"I was trying."
Your thoughts were becoming erratic, uncontainable. It wasn’t good. "Well, this is a devastating revelation. All those times I've flirted, I've initiated. All gone to waste, all times I've embarrassed myself."
Simon’s confusion just grew. "I really don't know what you're talking about now."
"Maybe I should retreat into a life of celibacy."
"That would be unfortunate."
"Spare the world of myself." You sighed dramatically.
"Unfortunate for me, especially."
You raised your knees to your chest, arms curling around your legs. "I hate myself."
"Ssshhh, stop talking." He shut you up with a kiss. "You need to calm down."
"But-" You protested, ready to voice every irrational idea that had rocketed through your mind in the last couple of minutes.
He kissed you again. "No, no."
"I ramble, I'm sorry." You pouted at him, clearly upset with yourself.
The corners of his lips upturned. "You're sexy when you ramble."
"Ugh, fuck off." You pushed his face away from you.
His hands were raised in surrender. "Thought you wanted to be seductive."
"Not through my annoying habits." You snapped.
"But your annoying habits are what I like about you.”
"Mhm, how appealing. Jesus, why do you like me?"
"Sarge..." He chimed, tapping at your chin with his fingers.
"No seriously? My annoying habits?" You despised that idea.
"I beg of you to stop."
"Thought you liked my rambling."
"I do. But not your spiralling." His fingers traced up the side of your face to your temple, like he was pointing out the source of the spiralling.
"If you think this is spiralling then you should see the inside of my head."
He leant in to kiss your forehead. "Wish there was a way for me to see inside that gorgeous brain of yours.”
"Weirdo."
"Charming." He scoffed.
"Told you, not seductive." You pointed at yourself harshly.
"Wouldn't say that. I was turned on from your strange little compliments." He shrugged.
"Condescending bastard."
"I'm being genuine." As much as he couldn’t take a compliment himself, Simon couldn’t stand to see you being so self deprecating. The idea of you seeing yourself as anything less than perfect was impossible for him to comprehend.
You frowned at him. "Odd man."
"Would it help if I said that I find you seductive, sexy, foxy or any other words the youth might be using?"
You tried to contain your smile but failed. "Might help a little."
"Then I find you seductive, sexy, foxy and every other word the youth are using."
"Hmm."
He decided to move on, you weren’t going to accept the truth for now. "Hungry yet?"
"No." Your head shook from side to side roughly.
"Good, my appetite has passed."
Your head ducked. "Sorry."
"Don't be sorry.” He paused, considering his next words carefully. “Be naked instead."
You burst into laughter. "Okay, I feel better. You're less seductive than me."
"I'm insulted. No one can be as bad as you."
"Simon!" You gasped, the smile still on your face.
"I'm joking, Sarge." He cupped your chin and kissed you quickly.
“I’m still offended.”
“Oh, shut up.” He scoffed and kissed you again, arms wrapping around your waist to tug you into his lap. He loved having you on top of him, feeling your weight pressed against him. It was a reminder than this was his reality, a grounding effect almost.
***
It didn’t take long before you were both naked, you still on top of him and his fingers buried inside of you to prepare you for him.
“Come on, Sarge. One more and I promise to fuck you. Need you nice and wet first. Come on, good girl.” He said breathily, enjoying the reactions on your face as he curled his fingers inside of you to hit the right spot. “Fuck… that’s it, good girl.”
He knew what he was doing by calling you that.
And that point was proven when you came, crying out his name and digging your fingernails into the skin of his shoulders. He pressed a soothing kiss against your lips, tongue lapping against yours to show you his appreciation and praise.
He was hard underneath you and wasted no time in allowing you to sink down onto him, gasping into his mouth when you sat against him fully, buried to the base.
“Jesus- fuck, Sarge.” He garbled, jaw tensed and eyes on you as your own rolled into the back of your head from the pleasure. He filled you so well and no amount of words, from either of you, would ever express that.
You clenched around him as you got used to the feeling of him inside you. No matter how many times you’d been in this situation, it never got any less surprising at how good it felt.
“God, fuck, please start moving. I can feel you- can feel you- fuck!” He cut himself off when your hips rolled against his.
Your head fell to his shoulder, you were completely over sensitive from what he’d been doing to you before this that every minute movement was magnified by a thousand. Your legs were already shaking and you could feel the burn pulsing through you from how tired you were. But, god, you wanted to please him. So you pushed forward.
Your hips rolled against his again, the drag of him in and out of you creating a friction that had the two of you gasping for air. And again, and again, and again.
“That’s it, Sarge. Keep going.” His hand found the back of your neck where he dragged you back to look into your eyes, finding your face screwed up in pleasure. His hips bucked up against yours of their own accord and the way it made parts of you bounce from the impact had his gaze lowering to the dog tags dangling from your neck. He didn’t need to ask permission, he could see it in your eyes as soon as they locked again. The chain was wrenched from your neck and replaced with his in a split second, yours being placed around his neck at the same time.
The action set the two of you off into a lust fuelled frenzy.
You rocked against him desperately, chasing every bit of pleasure you could get for both him and yourself. Your hands threaded into his hair, pulling him impossibly closer so your chests rubbed against each other and your dog tags tangled together. It was poetic really. Sharing the piece of you that represented your identity by giving it to the other as a symbol of dedication. Only to have them intertwine anyway.
“Simon.” You whined into his mouth as a warning that you wouldn’t last much longer.
“I know, Sarge, I know.” He returned, kissing you and practically tasting the moans that were pouring out of your mouth.
The sweat coating the both of your bodies in a shiny sheen meant that your skin glided against one another easily. And neither of you would have been surprised if the windows had steamed up. Moreover, Simon’s hair was wet. Whether it was from the shower he took or from this, neither of you knew. All he knew is that he’d probably need to shower again after this. The room was hot and humid, an atmosphere created by the two of you.
Suddenly you tensed against him, arms locking around his shoulders and walls fluttering around him. The noise you let out against his neck as you came was heavenly and Simon almost lost himself to that sound alone.
He knew you were spent so he wrapped his arms around you and shifted so you laid underneath him on the bed, careful not to move out of you at any point. With the new position, and a quick check in with you to make sure you were okay, he rocked his hips against yours a few more times in uneven thrusts before finishing inside of you with a groan let out against the skin of your chest.
You giggled sleepily as he pressed soft kisses to your sweat-soaked skin but mumbled a short protest when he pulled out of you. He shushed you with a few mumbled apologies.
Simon looked down at the mess the two of you had created as it slowly seeped out of you, satisfied. He gently pushed it back in and gathered some of it on his fingers at the same time, raising them to your lips and tapping gently.
“Have a taste of us, Sarge.” He whispered huskily, appreciating the glimmer in your eyes as you nodded and took him inside your mouth.
And when you hummed happily around his fingers, he wanted a taste for himself.
He lowered himself between your thighs, pressing open mouthed kisses to the flesh there, and started licking at you, groaning at the taste of what the two of you had created. He lost track of the amount of time he spent there, especially after he managed to get you to come again - your thighs trembling on either side of his head. All he knew was that in the time spent between your legs, it had grown very dark outside and he still had no clothes for tomorrow.
***
So he pulled away from you reluctantly. "I need to go." He said, attempting to stand up.
"Nooo..." You whined, dragging him back down. "Just five more minutes."
He looked down at you with a sigh, the pleading and the mischief in your eyes being too tempting. "Fine. Five more minutes. That's it."
He stayed another two hours.
And when he did finally manage to depart, he made you promise to stay naked and waiting for him in bed. But, as much as you did want to do as you were told and abide by his request as he left, it was cold and you were thirsty.
So you put some clothes on and trotted to the kitchen for a drink, deciding on the farmers' market apple juice you regularly stocked up on now. With the glass in your hand, you sat on the sofa to see what was on television.
Before you could, the surface of the coffee table shook slightly as your phone started ringing, unknown number flashing on the screen.
Fuck.
You picked it up cautiously and pressed it close to your ear, taking in a deep breath. "Hello?”
There was a gruff mumble of your name from the voice you'd been dreading to hear the past few months.
You shut your eyes tight, bracing yourself for the inevitable. "Yeah?"
"It's Price."
A/N: and so it begins… or ends. Hope you enjoyed the chapter.

It’s weird being sad on Christmas, but she was.
Then she was sad on New Year's Eve, wishing she was kissing each baby's head as the clock struck 12… but visiting hours ended at 10 so the parents could try to get some sleep before the next visit at 8am. And she didn’t even sleep! She pumped and cried on and off until she passed out for a few hours, only to wake up and be allowed back in the hospital to do it all over again. And again. And again.
It’s been 6 weeks now. 42 days. It felt never-ending.
Her mom was still visiting and was supposed to be sleeping in the guest room, but her mom could hear Y/N sniffle through the wall while she cried in the baby room. She thought she would let Spencer get some sleep for once and went to their kid's room to fold clothes and organize for the next few days. She brings a change of clothes for the bigger two, Wren is still too small to fit in anything, and she loves dressing them because it’s another thing she can do. That makes 4 things. She feeds them, she changes them and she dresses them, she holds them. Everything else was done by nurses and tubes and machines…
Until today. In just a few hours, god willing, Axel would complete his 24 hours of bottle feeds and he’d be able to come home. Esmay is just a few days away from attempting the same challenge and then Wren… she was going to need at least another 3 weeks. She just started to gain weight, and she’s still not taking the bottle or the nipple when Y/N attempts it.
It's breaking her heart to separate them, as much as she loves the idea of having Axel home… They slept better when they were close, they held hands when she held them at the same time, they stopped crying when the other was close… they had a bond she would never understand and now she had to separate them. It’s so sad to think about that she can’t stop crying as she searches the drawers for something cute for tomorrow.
Her mom walked into the room quietly with a soft smile plastered on her face, she didn’t know what she was walking into, “Hey, sweet pea.”
“Hey,” she whispers, looking up at her mom with tear-stained cheeks and a onesie held to her chest. “I’m figuring out what to bring Axel home in tomorrow.”
“Is he coming home tomorrow?”
She shrugs, “he’s so close to coming home. Every day he gets so close and then it's like he takes a random step back? He went on a food strike the other night, so we had to restart his bottle feeding test again… if I call at 7 and he’s completed his 24 hours then all he has left is the car seat test.”
“Where he has to sit, safely for an hour without a problem?” Her mom remembers when Spencer explained it all the first time Axel failed his bottle test.
She nods, “I think he can do it this time. He’s over 6 pounds now, he’s stronger than ever, he’s coming home soon.”
Her mom takes a seat beside her on the carpeted floor and looks at the outfit choices. “It’s still super cold out, but he’ll need to be safe in the car seat so no coat… this is cute?” It’s a green onesie with pink butterflies, and it made her smile.
It included his sister's colours and symbolized how he was growing, he wasn’t just her wiggly worm anymore, he was a full-grown butterfly ready to fly home. She started crying again just thinking about it…
“I mean this in the nicest way possible, but I think you need to talk to your doctor,” her mom whispered. “Grieving the newborn stage and not getting time with your own babies was bound to be hard, but you’re suffering, honey. You need some help. You need to sleep, you’re not eating, you’re barely producing milk anymore… you’re suffering. I can’t tip-toe around it anymore, Spencer was supposed to talk to you about it but he’s scared. We’re all so scared, honey. You need some help.”
She lets her mom hold her like she did when she was a little girl, she cries so hard barely any noise comes out. Her mom just rubs her back and lets her get to where she needs to be in her grief. She needs this. “I-It just feels like it’ll never end… this has been the worst 6 weeks of my life.”
“Did I ever tell you about your colic?” She whispers, petting her head now, soothing her by rocking gently back and forth on the carpet. “You cried for 4 months straight. I couldn’t soothe you, nothing helped, you were just sad… sadder than this, and I just listened and cried with you.”
“I would lose my mind,” she laughs and wipes her tears. “I’m sorry for that, mom.”
She chuckles, “It was awful. I didn’t know how long it would last or if it would ever stop, and it also felt never-ending… but then one day you giggled. You were quiet for once and I cried with tears of joy and snorted on my own mucus and then you laughed at me. With the same lungs that cried for 4 months, you released this deep belly laugh for the first time ever and finally, the worst part of our life together was over.”
“Just like that?” She sniffled, getting the point she was making.
“Just like that. It’s crazy how fast time flies by, but the good thing is that very soon this sadness will be a memory, one you’ll look back on and say ‘I can’t believe I did that?’ Because it’ll feel like such a faraway memory.”
“Thank you,” she hugs her mother tightly. “I’m so glad to have you here for this.”
“I wouldn’t wanna be anywhere else, honey.”
He passes the car seat test, they load him up and they take him home. They spend 3 hours with him, she feeds him she changes him and then he has a nap just in time for her to head back to the hospital to watch the other two nap. They kept him on the same schedule as his sisters at the hospital and they’ll do the same when the girls come home. It’ll be easier this way.
He lets Y/N take mostly all of the hospital shifts, the only time he goes in is first thing in the morning. Y/N’s mom watches the baby, Y/N sleeps a little longer and Spencer gets his alone time with the girls. It’s lovely. He enjoys reading to the girls in their beds until they fall asleep and then he heads home to his son just in time for his next feed.
He finds them in the bedroom when he gets home. She’s holding Axel and he can tell she felt bad for being just as happy as Spencer was. He could see the way it was eating away at her every time she held Axel, every time she looks at him her smile slowly turns to sadness when she realized the other two weren’t home.
She doesn’t even notice he’s home until he’s sitting down on the bed beside her.
“Can I have him?” Spencer asks, extending his arms, she nods and slowly hands over the swaddled-up little baby. “How are you feeling?”
“I’m okay,” she presses her lips together in a tight-lipped smile. “Um, are you still okay to stay home with him for the rest of the day while I’m at the hospital?”
He nods, “your mom is just down the hall,” he reminds her with a smile. “I’m sure someone will want to come over and hold him at some point.”
“Colin wants to come over soon,” she reminds him. “I think him and Penelope should come together cause then they’ll do all the cooking and we can just chill with the babies.”
“You think Esmay’s coming home next?”
She shrugs, “She’s still not eating from the bottle. Wren might even be home before her.”
“She has her ultrasound on Friday, can you double-check that we can bring Axel with us so we can both go? I forgot to ask,” Spencer shakes his head, he can't believe he’s forgetting things now, but the sleep deprivation was catching up to him.
She nods, “of course, I think the nurses would like to see him again, anyway.”
“It must be weird for them, getting to love and support so many little babies every day and then never really seeing them again once they’re cleared to go home?” He ponders.
“I would have a hard time with that, it’s different when you get to hold the people you’re taking care of, unlike just talking to them on the phone like I do,” Y/N explains. “Like that case, we did together still haunts me, I hugged them all, and I will think about them till the day I stop existing.”
“It’s really hard,” he agrees. “Saving someone and having them run into your arms just to never know how they end up is weird… some send us letters and updates over the years, but others act like it never happened and move on entirely.”
“I kinda want to do that when they’re all home,” she admits, tears welling in her eyes, “I don’t want to talk about it or think about it… I’m just going to pretend I had all 3 of them here with me the whole time.”
“I want you to talk to a therapist,” he whispers, cradling Axel a little closer. “You need someone to tell your struggles to, I get not wanting to relive it here, but you have to get it out, baby.”
“I know,” she cries, covering her face as she starts to sob. “It’s so unfair, I hate feeling like this, Spence. I can’t do it anymore, I want them home, I want to just stay here all day and never leave again. I can’t keep going there and coming home alone every single day.”
He knew she didn’t mean alone as in she came home to no one, she had him, her mom, his mom, and all their friends and now, they had 1 baby home. He was safe, healthy, beautiful and 100% theirs. She just meant leaving them there while she drove home alone, that was what hurt.
“I know, love, it’s okay.”
“What if you asked the nurses if you could do some more breastfeedings with Esmay? She might feed more if it’s from you and then if she does well, ask to stay the full 24 hours to help her pass the test,” Spencer planned rather quickly. “They want her to come home just as bad as you do.”
She nods, wiping her tears with the sleeve of her shirt, “that’s a good idea. You’d be okay with that?”
He nods, “We have your milk in the fridge here, I know how to do this, we can have some father-son bonding time.”
“You’re so cute with him,” she swoons and takes out her cellphone to take a few photos for memory's sake, “you’re the best dad.”
“And you’re the best mom,” he reminds her after a few photos, looking into her eyes with all the truth in the world. “Our girls will be home soon, and when they’re all here it’ll be okay. They’re going to grow up knowing you love them more than anything in the world and you were willing to go through hell and back for them. Suffering like this for them, it’s what makes you the best mom. You’re a fucking warrior.”
“Hey,” she reaches over and covers Axel’s ears. “Thank you, but he doesn’t need to hear that.”
Spencer smiles, leaning in he presses his lips to hers for a quick kiss. “I love you.”
“I love you, more.”
She left shortly after that, in their new minivan Spencer bought 3 days after she was out of the hospital. It was fully equipped to take his family on safe trips, two of the car seats were buckled into the back, ready for whenever their girls were able to come home too. The third was in the front hall, waiting for Axel's next trip outside.
Spencer sat in bed with Axel resting on the nursing pillow in front of him, an empty bottle discarded beside them, along with some dirty burp cloths. His eyes slowly started to close, he was so relaxed and full, Spencer kept rubbing his little tummy and whispering sweet nothings to him, helping him drift off to sleep.
“There you go buddy, you must be so full now… you can have the best nap with your full tummy and when you wake up we’ll snuggle and have some more food…” Spencer whispers, smiling away, he’s so happy.
This is everything he ever wanted.
His phone lights up on the bed beside him, displaying a message over the most beautiful wallpaper he’s ever had. He just admires the photo, the love of his life holding their three kids on her chest at the same time, he loved them all so much.
Y/N: we’ve just finished bottle number six with Esmay, she’s officially taken 90% of her feeds today!! 3 with me!!!! The feeding tube comes out tonight at midnight, before her last 2 feeds and if she eats them all then she can come home… I did not see this coming today. Also: Axel can come with us to her appointment on Friday, and by the looks of things, Esmay can come too!!
Spencer: that’s amazing baby!! I just finished a bottle with Axel, he’s having a nap right now, I can’t wait to see you later <3 give the girls a kiss for me? I love you.
Y/N: and Dr. Wade said that Wren is doing great, if her chest ultrasound goes well she might be able to start the process come home by Monday. This is wild Spence!
He wipes a stray tear from his cheek after reading that one. He was so proud of his little family, this was such a big moment. All 3 of them would be home before they even reached her original due date. Just like he assumed. After almost 7 weeks in the NICU, they’d all be home soon.
That was a lot to think about.
Because once they were all home, he was asking their mom to marry him.
It’s earlier than he wanted to do it, originally… but he needed to do it. He needs her to know how much he loves her and how badly he wants to love her for the rest of his life.
They don’t sleep the first night that Esmay is home, too.
Two of their three newborn cots were occupied, both babies were sleeping soundly, all swaddled and content while their parents couldn’t stop staring at them. It was surreal. They were both over 5 pounds now, much, much bigger than when they were born but still tiny. Axel was 6 pounds when he left the hospital and since then he’s gone down a few ounces which is normal cause he’s on regular breast milk all day and only has a bottle mixed with formula twice a day for extra calories.
He doesn’t look like either of them yet, neither does Esmay. They’re still too skinny and tiny but that’ll change. In a few months they’ll each have different features and little personalities…
“I can’t believe it,” she whispers.
“I know,” he shakes his head, staring at their babies. “We’re going to be so tired tomorrow…”
She laughs, “Yeah, but it’ll be fine. Maybe mom can drive us.”
“Yeah,” he likes the sound of that plan. Wren has her ultrasound tomorrow. She’s the middle child and yet she’ll be the last one home. “they’re all going to be home soon.”
She laughs again, tired as hell and so, so happy. “We're really not going to sleep then.”
“It’ll get better,” he assures. “Once we get the schedule down and they switch from 3-hour intervals to 5, it’ll be better.”
She leans over and rests her head on his shoulder and wraps her arm around his back, “it’ll be amazing to get to watch them all sleep here, together.”
“To watch them do everything here, together,” he corrects. “First laughs, first words, first steps. To teach them how to ride bikes and maybe we’ll do swim lessons over at Dave’s cause we already know they like the pool—
“Not funny,” she shoves him.
“They were supposed to be Aquarius’s so them loving water makes sense,” he teases again.
“Unfortunately they’re Sagittarius’s like your boss,” she reminds him. “Maybe they’ll be stoic and handsome.”
“Funny,” he shakes his head. “They might also be adventurous, risk-takers or incredibly emotionally intelligent.”
“They’ll be one of each,” she says with a sigh. “Axel is the risk-taker, Esmay will be adventurous and Wren, given the trauma, she’ll probably end up the emotionally intelligent one.”
“She’s also the oldest girl,” he reminds her. “She’ll be like us.”
“We won’t put that kind of pressure on her,” Y/N says, looking at him with the most serious look on her face. “She’s going to be free and innocent and happy as long as humanly possible. They all will.”
He nods, “And with me leaving the bureau—
“You’re leaving?” She can’t believe it.
“For the time being…”
“Why?”
“You’ll want to go back to work at some point, I don’t want to get hurt and leave you with them or bring work home and lose one of you… so I’m going to stay home. I’m going to raise my babies and make sure they have a dad for their whole lives. I love them too much to leave again, even just for work,” he explains.
She cups his face and brings him in for a kiss, a deep one at that. “I love you,” she whispers. “That’s all i’ve ever wanted for my kids.”
“Me too,” he smiles back at her. “Me too.”
Wrens ultrasound goes remarkably well. The nurses love seeing the other two babies once again. They all get a little check-up while they’re there and everyone is doing perfect. Wren especially. She’s getting so strong, she’s making so much progress but she doesn’t like taking the bottle yet. Just like the other two, having a feeding tube gets convenient and nursing is hard when they’re not used to that kind of movement yet. She also might have a tongue-tie.
The best part of the appointment, however, is putting Axel and Esmay in her incubator beside her and watching them all snuggle and coo. They’re content, happy to be back together the way they were for 32 short weeks. It’s the cutest thing to see.
And Dr. Wade loves to see it too. “In a week, I think they’ll all be home.”
“Really?” She lights right up.
He nods, “your kids are quick learners. We just have to get her used to the bottle or breastfeeding. Her weights good, she’s breathing perfectly and her incision is all healed up. She’s doing great.”
“They get that from their dad,” she compliments, tearing up a bit. Spencer steps in closer to her, hand on her shoulder.
“And their resiliency from their mom,” he compliments right back.
“You two are so cute,” the nurse in the corner compliments. “It’s hard to believe you’re not married.”
“Soon,” Spencer assures. “You’re all welcome to come to the wedding.”
Dr. Wade was right. It only takes Wren a week to pass her 24-hour bottle test and she’s such a champ with the car seat test. And by 8 weeks postpartum, all their babies are home.
But as soon as they’re all home, Mom has to go to the doctor.
But that’s okay cause Y/N’s 8-week post-op appointment is also the perfect time for Spencer to slip the kids into their special onesies for popping the big question.
He waited until their nap time, he carefully put Axel into a shirt that say “you” Esmay has the word “marry” and Wren has “daddy?” Leaving him with the first word, “Will” and Y/N clocks it the moment she walks through the front door.
“Why are you wearing a shirt that says ‘Will’ on it? Did you loose a bet to him or something?”
“Nope, you’ll find out in a minute,” he smirks, letting her inside and closing the door behind her.
“Okay… you’re being so weird. Weirder than normal,” she teases.
He takes her purse and helps her out of her shoes and coat, still treating her like she was recovering from the C-section when really, he just loved to take care of her.
“Where are the kids?”
“Asleep. Come with me,” he takes her hand, she’s shocked they’re asleep all at the same time and in the same room, but she follows him anyway.
Up the stairs and into their bedroom, she hovers over their cribs and smiles and then she sees it. Each baby has something written on their onesies too. Spencer stands beside Axel’s crib, showing her that he’s the first word in the sentence.
Her jaw drops and she stills, holding in the scream she wants to let out, she can’t believe it’s finally happening. She covers her mouth and turns to Spencer, who’s already down on one knee holding a small felt box in his hand. “So… What do you say?”
“Yes!” She whispers when really she wants to scream. She tugs him up to his feet and wraps her arms around him. “Oh my god,” she starts to cry. “Yes, holy shit, yes, Spence!”
He hugs her back, crying into her shoulder, “I love you so much.”
“I love you,” she says as she pulls back to look down at the ring. “This is real?”
“This is all real,” he assures. “We have 3 babies, a beautiful house, and now each other.”
He takes the ring from the box and slips it onto her ring finger. “Everything we’ve ever wanted…”
“and then some,” he smirks. “Forever.”
She nods, so in love with him. “Forever.”

It's here! I don't have a name for these series of connected prompts just yet but I'm sure I'll think of one! I was originally going to write the characters doing more in this chapter but it didn't work out. Still, I'm happy with this narrative I'm creating. By the way, I am planning on posting this to AO3 like all my other works if you want to check it out!
@owl-bones Please let me know if you don't want me to tag you for each prompt. Thanks for making the list!
Next Day.
Bad Sansuary: Horror - Hot Drinks
Word Count: 2,914
It was a dreary day today, yet despite the overcast sky and brisk breeze that often whipped snow into your face, it was the nicest it had been in days. You'd practically gone stir crazy after a freak snow storm had blown in several days ago and so now you were getting some much needed fresh air.
It had been an incredibly spontaneous decision to come out to this barely traveled trail. You'd been meaning to check out the area for ages but had been too busy in the fall. While your winter gear was generally enough to keep you warm on most days, it seemed like you should've worn an extra layer or two with how chilly it was out here in the woods in comparison to the city.
Regardless, you were moving at a steady enough pace to keep your blood pumping. So long as you weren't out here for longer than a few hours and got home before it got dark, you should be alright.
The walk had been every bit as beautiful as you'd expected it to be. While the forest was mostly made up of deciduous trees, you were now walking through a large grove of mature cedar trees, which just so happened to be your favorite type of conifers. The dense shrubbery served to insulate this part of the trail from both the wind and the sounds of the wild, not to mention that they smelled lovely as well.
The path made a sharp turn to the left up ahead, although right in front of you was a natural gap in the treeline, possibly made by animals as they passed through this grove. Feeling a tad curious, you ducked under the branches and emerged in a small clearing on the other side.
The clearing seemed to be natural as you couldn't see any signs of tree cutting, even with all the snow. It was framed on all sides by cedar trees whose boughs were blanketed in a thick layer of the white powder. It was strange though. You couldn't see anything that looked special about this little clearing and yet it was so peaceful here.
You'd only walked a few paces into the open space when you felt the hairs on the back of your neck stand up.
Something was very wrong.
Some sort of primal instinct deep inside your soul screamed for you to duck and your body responded without even thinking about it.
You heard the unmistakable sound of an object whizzing through the air where you'd been standing moments prior.
You barely had time to register what happened before someone roughly grasped your shoulder and flung you into the snow.
You landed hard on your right side. The cold snow stung your face. There was pressure on your abdomen.
It took a moment for you to catch your breath. When you did though, you shifted slightly to see what had just attacked you, but as soon as you did so, the pressure on your side increased sharply.
A low rumbling growl was the only warning you got to stay put.
Now your mind was racing. This wasn't a random animal and no human could possibly sound like that. So could it be a monster? They'd been on the surface for a couple years now and were pretty commonplace in the city. In fact, you didn't know of any that would willingly choose to live out in the middle of nowhere after being trapped underground for centuries.
"Uh... H-hey, can...can we talk about this...?" Your voice came out much hoarser than you'd expected it to but you didn't know what else you could do right now.
Nothing happened for what felt like ages. You continued to stay as still as you possibly could, save for the pounding of your heart and how badly you were trembling. The snow was cold and your clothes were rapidly becoming soaked, but you barely registered it.
Your attacker suddenly shifted their body and the pressure on your abdomen eased, although it didn't go away entirely.
You chanced turning your head in their direction this time, rather than trying to move your entire body.
Your gaze immediately locked onto a singular glowing red eyelight. It belonged to a hulking figure of a skeleton monster who was currently pinning you to the ground. The eyelight itself took up almost the entirety of his socket and there was a thin line through the center, likely acting as a pupil. The only other details you could make out from this angle was that he was breathing rather heavily and he had a large hole on the top of the left side of his skull.
You didn't dare break eye contact for fear the monster would lash out suddenly if you did so. Whether it was how blown out his single pinprick looked or the tight smile that seemed much too wide for the current situation, but you could tell something was very wrong him right now.
Taking a shaky breath, you tried to speak to the skeleton again. "H-hey... Big guy... Are you...? Is something wrong?" you asked. Although to your frustration, your tongue betrayed how nervous you really were right now.
He said nothing and just continued to stare down at you, or maybe through you was more accurate. If looks could kill, you'd be dead at least a hundred times over.
For whatever reason, he wasn't actively restraining your arms, just preventing you from getting up. So against your better judgement, you slowly raised your left hand and reached for his face. Although you quickly discovered he was at least several inches out of range and you couldn't actually touch him.
His eyelight tracked your movements and seemed to focus on your outstretched fingers. He still said nothing though and just sat in silence.
"It's okay... Did I startle you earlier?" Your voice was becoming stronger the more you spoke and while you were still rather nervous, you were feeling a bit more confident than before.
He seemed to be acting pretty distant. The lights were on, pun unintended, but nobody was home. So what had stopped him from actually hurting you earlier? The only thing you could think of was when you tried to talk to him and since it seemed to be having a positive effect, you decided to keep doing that.
"Hey... Um, you scared me pretty bad, you know...?" No response. "But it's okay! I'm... I'm not mad or anything..."
People said you tended to ramble when nervous but you'd never believed them until now. Not that you'd been in many life or death situations before now to know, or at least none where talking your way out had been an option.
"Okay... I'm not going to hurt you, but... I'm going to try doing something." With a nervous chuckle, you added, "Just...don't take my hand off, okay...?"
You waited a moment to see if he'd try to respond but shocker, he still didn't react. So against your better judgement, you attempted to sit up so you could reach him. You moved slowly while keeping a close eye on him, but thankfully, he didn't show any signs of further aggression.
He startled when your mittened hand met the right side of his face. His red eyelight wobbled and flicked between your outstretched hand and your face. The corners of his painfully wide smile fell a fraction as he seemed to properly take in the current situation.
"Ah, that's better," you murmured. "You seemed far away so I was wondering if you could actually hear me. Are you...? Are you okay?"
He said nothing and continued to stare at you. Then his gaze flicked back to your hand and his bonebrows furrowed slightly. Before you could protest, he grasped your wrist and with some hesitation, jerked it away.
Crap... His hand is like twice the size of mine.
He let go of you and managed to stand up, staggering away from you. Complete shock was practically written across his skull and you could see how desperately his mind was scrambling to make sense of this awkward situation.
Although your muscles were a bit numb from the cold, you slowly crawled to your feet and attempted to dust yourself off. Although the snow had completely soaked through your pants and coat so your efforts were futile.
"..."
The mysterious skeleton muttered something that was so quiet, you almost didn't realize he'd said anything in the first place.
"I'm sorry, I didn't catch that..."
He blinked, somehow, and actually made eye contact with you this time before trying again. "...sorry..."
His tone was about as deep as you'd expected a guy of his size to sound, although it was also rather subdued. You couldn't be sure if that was just how he spoke or if he was feeling ashamed about what had just happened.
Speaking of his height though, this monster was much taller than you'd initially thought. He was easily more than a foot taller than you were, even with the way he was purposely hunching his shoulders. Was he trying to make himself look smaller?
"It's alright, you didn't actually hurt me," you responded.
He gave you a strange look but didn't say anything else, instead he started looking around in the snow.
Feeling rather awkward, you chewed your lower lip and kicked a small clump of snow. He didn't seem like much of a conversationalist and you didn't blame him right now.
After a moment of searching, he seemed to find what he'd been looking for a couple paces ahead and to the left of where you were currently standing - a large axe with a rather sharp blade. The way it was stuck in the snow suggested he'd actually hurled it at you and the thought of how close your brush with death had really been, sent chills down your spine.
But, if he had intended to kill you from the beginning, how come he'd hesitated to follow through?
You watched as he hefted the axe onto his shoulder with minimal effort. There was one more question on your mind now though.
Who was he?
Taking a step forward, you cleared your throat to get his attention. "Do you need me to call someone?"
He straightened up a bit more but remained facing away from you. "...no."
You frowned and pressed again, "Then...do you live nearby? Do you need help getting home?"
"...no," he responded in that same quiet tone. He turned to look at you again but this time his expression seemed more perplexed than anything.
You didn't know what to say next. You wanted to do something, anything, to help him, but he'd denied each of your attempts to do so. You couldn't just walk away now, not when he was so clearly struggling with something.
"what's with you?"
His question was a bit surprising and it took a second for you to come up with an answer. "You're hurting... I just want to make sure you'll be okay..."
He threw his skull back and laughed. It was a slow, bitter sounding laugh that nearly broke your heart to hear. After what felt like several long minutes, his laughter finally calmed down and he fixed you with a scrutinizing look once again.
"i just about killed ya."
You nodded solemnly, "But you didn't..."
He cut you off with a harsh glare. "and you're incredibly lucky right now..." he growled. "...i'm a dangerous person and you're pretty foolish for stickin' around this long."
You crossed your arms in annoyance. "Yeah, I guess I am foolish..." you huffed. "I don't know how to leave people be, I'm too nice for my own good, and I can't say no to people even if I really don't want to do what they ask me to. So yeah, I know I'm foolish!"
He raised a bonebrow as your voice got louder and louder but let you keep ranting until you'd gotten everything out. Running his free hand over his skull, he chuckled quietly. "wow...sounds like you've had a lot of experience, huh?"
"No kidding..." you muttered.
His footsteps crunched through the snow as he moved closer and you looked up at him again when he stopped about a foot away. He seemed to size you up for a moment before his permanent grin widened slightly.
"you're a funny human..."
You balked and took a step back. "Wha...? What's that supposed to mean?" you stammered.
He chuckled again and placed his free hand on your left shoulder. His touch was much gentler this time, even with the tips of his phalanges being rather sharp like claws.
"just that. ya got spunk to look at a guy like me an' think 'i can help him'." He hummed thoughtfully and then asked, "so how'd ya do it?"
"Do what?"
"shake me out of it..." He trailed off and a confused frown flickered across his face for a moment. "you were talkin' but i don't remember what you said until you touched me..."
"I don't understand. I didn't do anything more than that though. I just... You seemed...like you were somewhere else and not fully aware of what was happening? I guess I thought that maybe physical contact might help?"
"huh, interestin'..." he murmured thoughtfully. "so you've never heard of intent?"
You frowned slightly. The way he'd specifically put emphasis on that word made you think it meant something different than what you'd initially thought. "I can't say I have," you said with a shrug.
He started to respond when a sudden gust of wind blew through the small clearing and caused you to shudder as the cold air went right through your soaked clothing. You clutched your coat closer and stamped your feet in an effort to warm up.
Changing the subject, he made a quiet tisk sound and commented, "you'll catch your death if ya stay out here much longer, human."
A little voice in the back of your head wanted to retort that you wouldn't be this cold if it weren't for him, but that would be cruel, so you didn't. Instead, you gave a little laugh and tried to smile, but it wasn't exactly easy with how badly your teeth were chattering.
"Um, my car's not that far from here and before I left the house this morning I made a thermos of hot coffee... If you'd like some...?"
He laughed, much more genuinely this time by the way, and shook his skull. "crazy human... do ya have no self-preservation instincts or somethin' ?" he asked in a tone that practically screamed "ya can't be serious?".
You nodded, "Compared to some men I've met, you've been downright pleasant to make conversation with." Turning to head back to the trail, you added, "It's probably a good thing you took me by surprise though, because I definitely would've tried to fight you if I'd seen you coming."
"you'd definitely be dead then," he muttered bitterly.
You chose not to continue this morbid train of thought and walked on in silence. It was a bit surprising that he'd decided to actually take you up on your offer, considering he'd rejected every other one, but you didn't mind in the slightest.
After a few minutes of travel, you asked, "Do you have a name?"
He made a low humming sound before answering. "axe..." He grinned when you shot him a confused look and nodded his skull towards the weapon he had slung over his shoulder.
"I see... It's kind of...fitting? If I can say that?"
"mhm. what about you?"
"Oh! How rude of me... It's..." you gave him your name, "Sorry, I guess I completely forgot my manners in the heat of the moment..." You rubbed the back of your neck awkwardly.
Axe repeated your name out loud a few times like he was trying to commit it to memory. You paid him no mind as you knew all too well how annoying it was to forget someone's name. You didn't think you'd ever forget his though, not with how crazy today had been.
You caught him typing something into his phone out of the corner of your eye before he slipped it back into the pocket of his shorts again. He really hadn't needed to borrow your phone afterall it seemed.
"i am sorry for scarin' ya that badly...and for nearly killin' ya too," Axe muttered. He looked rather sheepish all of the sudden, like his previous apology wasn't nearly good enough now that you'd talked a little.
You waved him off and smiled warmly. "Hey, it's fine now. I'm not mad at you for something you couldn't help."
"i'm surprised you're not askin' more questions about me or why that happened in the first place..."
"Do you want to tell me?"
He shook his skull silently and glanced away.
"That's fine then... If you're gonna be okay now, then that's all I care about."
You hummed happily as your little car came into view at the side of the road where you'd parked it earlier. That coffee sounded absolutely divine right about now and you were so glad you'd decided to make it. Thank your lucky stars you'd thought ahead today.
Your companion had grown rather silent all of the sudden and when you glanced at him, you saw his bonebrows seemed to be knit together in deep thought. While you definitely were curious about him and where he came from, you didn't want to pry into something that wasn't your business.
Besides, the less you knew, the better...
