To say that Jude’s pride had been injured was an understatement. Thankfully she’d been able to avoid being completely sucked into her past, but the flashes that came forward were traumatizing all over again. Most of the time the djinn tried to forget her past, convince herself that she’d fully moved past it. But it was moments like these that humbled her, forced her to remember that she could never fully move on. There was no erasing her past.

Therefore she was trying to avoid those realizations, moving from cell to cell as much as the guards would allow to check on others. Over her three residencies at the Institute, she was likely more intimately familiar with these sorts of episodes than most. “Hey,” she offered softly, sliding down to the ground to be on the same level as the other. “It won’t last forever. I promise there’s an end to this.”

Violet was laying on the ground, an arm over her eyes, not even caring that she was still nude. It was just a state of being, nothing to be ashamed of- and honestly even if she was ashamed, she was far too tired to give a shit. She lay on the ground, sore, and aching and just trying to will herself to fall asleep. At least she was used to not eating for periods of time, that wasn’t an issue, but fuck was she thirsty. She sighed slightly and then heard someone move to sit down hear her. She turned her head with a slight frown and opened her eyes, seeing the woman who was sitting next to her before she nodded.

“Yeah, I thought I was supposed to be safe after I got claimed and all,” she muttered as she touched her collar and then shrugged. “But nothing like a little oppression to make sure we never forget our place, right?” she asked dryly.

Never Again!!! - Magnus/Jude

As was his usual, Magnus was asleep in the nude, tossing back and forth in his sleep thanks to the fuckery of this past week. Years of combat and training had made him a light sleeper, so the sound of a 12 foot tall 2 ton bear crashing to the floor jolted him awake. Throwing himself out of bed, the berserker immediately grabbed for the blades that he kept everywhere throughout the house. "My love, wake up. Something isn't right, I think I just heard Bumbles collapse." Stalking around the bed, he waved at Jude to stay behind him as he approached the doorway to their bedroom, his head on a swivel as he searched for targets. An unfamiliar shape moved into the hallway leading to the room and Magnus let one of the knives fly and was rewarded with a scream of pain as more shadowy figures moved into the hallway. All he could think of were the images of Barca invading the island when he came to kill Magnus on behalf of Aster. He would never let someone get that close to hurting his family again. "Jude! Get out, people are coming for us!" His heart clenched at the thought of someone hurting his Cause, the very core of his being as a berserker. He would gladly die before anything happened to her. "RUN!!!!!"

I Can’t | Nova&Jude

If she thought she had been scared before, Nova was fucking petrified now. Being blindfolded and having what hearing she had left removed, and left to the whims of others had been bad enough. But something told her this was going to be much, much worse. The dancer didn’t personally know the blonde woman she’d be shoved in front of her but that didn’t matter. She’d done nothing to her, nothing to anyone else (as far as she knew) to deserve this. So why was she having to do it? What purpose did this serve? Nova had no answers but she did still have plenty to say..or not. Because as soon as the dancer opened her mouth nothing came out. Okay..that actually felt a little personal.. Well her voice may not have worked but her body did. So Nova shook her head, taking one step back before she was stopped and a whip was placed into her small hands. Wait..could it really be this easy? She wouldn’t know till she tried, would she?

Hands lifted, Nova aimed the whip towards the guard’s face. But at the last second her trajectory was changed. And so was the pristine skin of the woman before her...

The Crimson Clover was an odd location for Tessa who usually did not go out alone, and certainly not to a night club. The same could be said about the few people that she knew and cared about which made this the obvious even if uncomfortable choice. Yet even she had changed a little bit over the past few weeks. The punishment she had taken with as little complaint as humanly possible. And it only took a year but she finally managed to send the dreaded message to apply for a spot in the art course. This was cause to celebrate, no?

“Can I have a beer?” Tessa’s fingers searched for the remaining coins in her pocket. It was clear that she would need a job soon if she wanted to survive on more than simple cafeteria food. “The cheapest one is fine, I don’t mind. Also... Does it get busy here tonight?”

It was almost comical today and if it were anyone else, he would have found this all hilarious. In his office, he had an old poster of Murphy’s Law and Other Rules, which boiled down to: something that could go wrong, would. It was a tech engineer’s favorite and most frustratingly accurate saying. This morning was very difficult - he hit his head on a door frame, one he knew he was short enough to pass through. His coffee pot caught fire, he put salt into it instead of sugar, and the mug handle snapped completely off the glass. Fine, no coffee today, so he found himself seated outside one of the cafes on the island and luckily, it seemed when someone else made a drink for him it turned out fine. An iced coffee was hard to fuck up. He just wanted to sit and relax in the sun, and when he saw a familiar face coming around the corner, he lit up. “Jude!” he smiled, waving, then the annoying happened - the back of the chair snapped off and he fell back, barely catching himself on the window ledge. “Goddammit!” he swore, slamming his hand into the table... which then broke right in half. A stiff smile formed on his face, as he looked up at the woman. “So what’s new with you?”
