This conversation from Investigations 1 makes me want to see an HGTV Show where Miles Edgeworth and Franziska von Karma redecorate your house.

Good Bones on HGTV is purely a show about gentrification…
I like Mina and her mama but this whole show is based on them being gentrifiers and I ain’t seen them put a brown or black family in one of their houses yet..
If their true focus is rebuilding their neighborhood , you would think part of that focus would also be the folks the housing market misplaces/neglects the most..

I'm hatewatching HGTV because I had a minor surgery and I'm stuck in bed and why not make the pain worse. So far we've had:
- The couple that want to share a 450 sq.ft. tiny house with their fifteen year old son, who will now sleep in an open loft with no sound insulation or privacy. Enjoy falling asleep to the sounds of furtive adolescent masturbation until he goes to college.
- The woman with three small sons and one almost adult stepdaughter, whose first words to the camera were, "My husband and I have been living in this house since *before* we had any children", and then correcting herself to mean "children together" while her stepdaughter looked into the camera with dead eyes (the stepdaughter got a bedroom in the basement of the new house, and when asked her views, said "I'm going to college pretty soon" and we all felt her relief)
- Atleast five different families who expressed concern that their tiny house was, in fact, tiny
- A couple looking to buy a houseboat whose major concern was that the house boat 'rocked' and 'didn't have any yard space' (The realtor recommended getting a kayak instead)
I can't believe these people are real. These shows are astonishingly sad.

So, I don’t normally watch house hunter TV shows, but it’s the only channel at the place I’m house sitting that wasn’t the news or soap operas, but after watching only three episodes, I can tell you the plot of every episode ever:
House 1 - ooh, the mom likes this! It’s close to family/school! It’s perfect! The dad doesn’t like it though :(
House 2 - the dad loves this house! It’s got a nice yard! It’s a good price! Mom thinks it’s too far away, though :(
House 3 - it’s a perfect mix! It’s halfway between the privacy that dad wants and the closeness that mom wants! It’s got all the things that mom wants except not as great as house 1, but it has all the things that dad wants too!
Conclusion ~ where do they end up ~
House 1. Every time. The end interview goes like this:
Mom: I managed to convince him! It’s perfect!
Dad: *dying inside* yeaaaah

I’m just going to become the Phantom of the Opera equivalent for HGTV home designers and house flippers for turning every Victorian styled home into a grey modern nightmare like they start tearing down wallpaper or removing the crown molding and I drop a chandelier on them

New York [July 14, 2021] Darren Criss is a famous actor, singer and songwriter but, in a new episode of HGTV’s hit series Celebrity IOU, he’ll trade in his guitar for a sledgehammer to express his great gratitude to his decade-long best friend, manager and fellow music fan, Ricky, who he credits with helping to launch his career. During the episode on Monday, July 19, at 9 p.m. ET/PT, Darren, who has an Emmy Award, Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild Award to his credit, will take a much different stage, working beside real estate and renovation experts Drew and Jonathan Scott to demolish walls, jackhammer concrete and nail down framing.

New idea for an HGTV show called “Boomer House”: millennials and gen z are charged with fixing up houses that have been exclusively lived in by boomers for the last 50+ years while questioning every choice the boomers ever made regarding home decor and maintenance. Also they have like $36 as their budget and their only sources of information are boomer family members with Opinions (tm) and YouTube.
Drop ceiling? So much cigarette smoke you have to scrub it off the ceiling with vinegar before you paint? Really terribly and lazily installed carpet? Ugly and non-useful plants in the yard? Boomers...
