finding myself thinking about 06 blaze who sees silver as a useful ally rather than a friend, while silver sees her as his best friend in the whole world. an imbalanced dynamic that goes unnoticed by silver whose attitude makes it difficult to befriend anyone else, and largely ignored by blaze who's more focused on their goal of destroying iblis for good than anything. the world must be saved at any price, after all.
but it's not like blaze doesn't know how much silver relies on her, she's very aware of it. she knows how he gets when he's left to his own devices, not that she's terribly concerned about it beyond finding it mildly irritating on her worst days. and it's not until the very end, when she tells him to seal iblis within her and banish them both to a different dimension, that she comes to realize just how fond of her silver was, how much she meant to him. but at that point it's far too late to begin to fix anything, to address the problems they've had so far and tackle the way she's treated him in the past - not that any of it remains after the timeline resets anyway, nor is remembered for that matter

if ever the laurens siblings ever do reunite with john again, how do you think they'd react?
also how old are you? i keep forgetting between 21 to 23 (sorry)
okay actually I think about this semi regularly
they would be PISSED. because they have no idea what happened. from their perspective, their brother went off to war with the promise of frequent letters, and next thing they know, they haven't heard from him in a year. (John did write. Henry Laurens often did not approve unfortunately)
and then their father comes back from a visit with him, telling them he chose to leave. he's chosen not to be part of their family any longer so he could run off to marry some tramp. their older brother chose some random whore over them.
at least that's the narrative presented to them.
so when they see John again for the first time in years, they're pissed. they're heartbroken! John is on the verge of tears because he missed them so much but how dare HE be upset when it was him who chose to leave them?
there's a lot of talking past each other, courtesy of Henry Laurens' evil misinformation campaign, and it doesn't exactly get any better when John tries to explain himself.
he chose sin over them. preferring to run off with another man over returning home like he promised them so long ago.
so yeah, reconciliation takes a while <3
(I also like to think that at least some of them met Alex independently before that whole situation and took a liking to him to further complicate everything :)))
lmao no worries, I'm 23 and will be for another three months 💅

It starts with the low call of the mourning doves.
The day is the coolest it will be and the shadows creep along the street as they run from the sun. It's always a distinct smell that lingers in the air, but one that can only be described as summer. Harkening back to the days of your youth, to long days spent doing nothing while complaining about the heat, to laughs shared with your friends while doing stupid shit, to tears shed because of sunburns and exhaustion.
Your body carries with it memories that you have since forgotten, memories that can return at the drop of a hat thanks to the specific combination of the sun on your skin and the call of the doves and the intro to that hit song from years ago. The particular sound of ice clinking against your cup or the feel of juice dripping down your chin after biting into a piece of your favorite fruit or the smell of chlorine or salt or dirt, mixing into a body of water that hits you just right.
It starts with the low call of the mourning doves, piercing your heart with stunning precision, knocking the breath from your lungs, even if just for a moment.
