It's how he lost Gwen before her death and right when it was okay she was gone . He never wanted to make anyone else feel unwanted because of his own insecurities .

As Matt stands there waiting for what seems like an eternity Peter keeps his eyes glued to the floor beneath his feet . Lips are pressed together as he tries to formulate a response . This wasn't science or taking down a villain, this was Matt and their relationship with one another . Every word mattered . Hesitantly the brunet will reach for the other's hand with a soft mumble, " I'm going to reach for your hand ... okay ? " His own was trembling, but he had to keep himself grounded somehow, hoping the familiar touch wil do just that . With fingers now intertwined, Peter takes in a deep breath . " Matt ...
