A/N: I took inspiration from Lana Del Rey’s song called Cherry, I hope you guys like it. The fic is a little out there, but I love AUs and I don’t think I’ve seen one of those around. (If you know any, send them my way. I’d love to read other AUs with our favourite momma’s boy.) Please let me know what you think, as I said it’s kinda out there, even if it’s to tell me that it’s sucked lol.

His voice was angelic, nothing could distract you from him. Professor Aemond was your history professor, Roman history was his field. You didn't need to be here, you were in STEM but you love History so you took it as an elective. It was so wrong, but you were lusting after your History Professor. You remember clear as day the first day you saw him.

You were excited about your history lesson, Roman history fascinated you that’s why you were sitting on the first row you couldn’t wait for this. There was only you and another boy in the class, which was about to start in 20 minutes. You decided to begin to do your homework from one of your classes, it was easy enough, you’d never admit that to anyone else but you were one of the smartest people in the university.

People started coming in but you paid no mind, you were in the zone and your homework was almost finished. You didn't realize that the Professor just came through the door, your pen was in your mouth and your brows were furrowed in concentration. The Professor noticed you, wearing a short skirt, tights and a turtleneck, you looked delicious but Aemond had a reputation to uphold. He was in front of you now but you didn't notice it, everyone was now looking at you.

You heard laughter from the people that shared your class, you looked up and you saw who you assumed was the Professor, he was wearing all black and he had an eye patch and scar which made him look sexy. His face was as if it was carved by God himself, his hands were behind his back and his facial expression was stern, you quickly sat up straight and closed your laptop. He kept looking at you which you only could as contempt for a few more seconds and went back to his desk.

“I am Professor Aemond Targaryen, to simply put any potential rumours at rest,” He pointed at the eye patch. “This was an unfortunate hunting accident with my nephew Luke, and my eye could not be saved.” Aemond preferred to get the story out of the way because he knew how students can get curious. “Now let’s start the class.”

The class went smoothly after that, and you were sure that his voice was going to be ingrained in your mind, it was smooth and sultry. Professor Aemond looked at you every ten minutes, not enough to raise suspicions but enough to make you aware that you were being watched. Aemond was a great professor, he didn't like to brag but it was true.

It was almost time for the class to be finished, everyone was getting their belongings in their bags, including you. That’s when Aemond decided to speak.

“I must speak with you, Miss.” His voice was stern, it left no room for argument. Your classmates were snickering and feeling sorry for you, after everyone else left you went to his table.

“I do not appreciate that kind of dismissive behaviour in my class, miss?” You said your full name and Aemond appreciated the sound of your voice.

“I apologise, Professor. I was twenty minutes early, so I decided to finish one of my assignments but I’ll take this class very seriously.” Aemond simply hummed and dismissed you with his hand, you went back to your seat and he appreciated the sway of your hips, you hurried out of class.

You were roommates with a girl called Ellie, she was a sophomore while you were a junior. It was a bit unsettling how much she knew about everyone’s lives, it was as if she had eyes everywhere. If a professor had issues either with family, or drugs she knew about it. It wasn’t a surprise when you were back to your dorm, she already knew that you had a mishap with professor Aemond.

“What did you do? What did the professor hottie say?” To be completely honest you were surprised that she didn't know what the two of you talked about.

“I got in the zone and didn't see him come in, she got angry and wanted to talk to me.” Ellie knew how you could get when you were concentrated, she never met anyone as dedicated as you to your studies. You didn't drink, you didn't party, your parents were poor, and you were on a scholarship you couldn’t afford a mistake, unlike Ellie.

“Be careful next time, he has a reputation.” Her statement confused you.

“What reputation?”

“He doesn’t forgive mistakes, of any kind. If you mess up in his class you are out, I’m surprised that you’re still allowed.” Ellie was eyeing you suspiciously, she hasn’t known you that long so her opinion of you wasn’t formed yet.

“He didn't say that I could come back.” Now you were worried, even though you didn't need to take this class, you loved Roman History it’d be awful to be kicked out for an innocent mistake.

“HA! Trust me, he would make it clear that you were out of his class. People say that he loves making his students squirm and cry more than anything.” Ellie left you, she needed to go meet with her boyfriend.

You didn't get that impression from the professor, sure he was stern but he wasn’t mean to anyone. You decided to not let Ellie’s words taint professor Aemond in your mind, you were going to make your judgement of him. Looking at the clock you realised that you were late for your next class.

Your next History class was the next week, and your mind was plagued with thoughts of your mysterious professor, his voice was in your dreams as well as himself.

Life at your grandparents’ farm wasn’t easy, but it was all you knew. Waking up before the sun, milking the cows, taking take of the sheep, making sure the crops were growing properly, cleaning the chicken coop, everything that your grandparents couldn’t do. There was one thing that you loved more than anything, and that was horses, your family didn't have the money for one, so you tried to find wild horses, they were fearless and dangerous but you were able taim most of them.

A horse that hasn’t left your side since you were only thirteen was a black horse, he was a beauty, he always found you, having a domestic side but always wild at heart. You named him Arrow, due to the fact that he’s so quick, always has been. Arrow always found his way back to you, and he loved you and you loved him, you didn't have enough money for a saddle, so you rode him bareback.

After your chores you went to find Arrow, it was a freeing feeling being able to ride on his back, being tired didn't matter, worrying about what to do after your grandparents die, being tired after a long day at the farm, none of that matters when you’re with Arrow.

You were whistling, looking for Arrow in a field the grass was tall the sun was almost setting and you saw him, he was eating. You approached him, and he looked at you, the bond was strong between the two of you.

“I’ve missed you, Arrow.” You put your head on his, and he neighed you’d like to think that he missed you as well. “Let’s ride.” You jumped on his back, you tried to care for him, brushing his hair but he always came back more wild than before.

You always let Arrow decide where to take you, he knew the Reach quite well and took you to so many different and exciting places. You held on tight to his hair and he went. You closed your eyes, and the wind on your face was incredible, sometimes you wished to be like Arrow, being attached to nowhere.

Arrow stopped by a river, and you came off of him and started drinking water off the river. The sun was setting so you started thinking about coming back home. You started touching Arrow, you wished that he would come home with you but you loved him too much to sentence him to such a cruel fate, he was free. You heard hustling from the trees, you decided to leave. But it was too late, a couple appeared from the forest.

The man had to be a knight, and the woman was wearing an incredible purple dress, she looked absolutely amazing. The man looked angry, drawing his sword.

“Who are you?” He screamed, his sword was pointed at you. Arrow was getting scared, but you were able to calm him down.

“My love, she’s simply a farmer girl. She has no idea who we are.” You were avoiding looking at them, you wanted no trouble with the noble people.

The Lady approached you, you took a step back. She did not like that, she grabbed your jaw rather forcefully. You looked at her, you couldn’t believe it she looked exactly like you and she had a surprised face, the same as you.

“By the gods, you look exactly like me. If you weren’t so dirty and a peasant, you could be a pretender.” The Lady finally released your jaw, it hurt so much. “Have you lost your voice, peasant?” She was rude, and you did not like her one bit.

“I do, you haven’t asked anything before, m’lady.” She hit you, hard. You knew there would a bruise tomorrow, why did she do this? You almost fell, but you got your footing before that.

“Do not talk back, peasant.” Her words held so much venom, you hated the royals so much. “I simply had the most extraordinary idea. I will go to Braavos with William and you shall marry the one-eyed monstrosity in Kings Landing.” The knight, William you assumed finally approached the two of you. Your face held nothing but confusion, you pretending to be her?

“That would never work, this peasant doesn’t know how to behave, how to read.” William held contempt for you, but his voice had a tinge of pity.

“It will work, we will teach her everything. She shall become a Lady of House Oxwell, she shall become me.” You knew that name, her family was the richest in all of Westeros, richer than the Lannisters, they say.

“No.” You simply stated, you didn't want to become her, you wanted to be truly free like Arrow, you wanted nothing in your name, you craved freedom, you craved being away from the farm, you craved peace, you craved the wind on your hair.

“No, how dare you…” William started drawing his sword again, but the Lady stopped him.

“Most peasants would kill for an opportunity such as this, why do you refuse? Being adorned with the finest jewellery, touching only the finest silk, eating only the best meats? What do you truly desire?” Her line of questioning was uncomfortable, she wanted you to say things that you never told anyone before, of the deepest desire within your soul.

“I wish to be free, I wish to take my horse and ride him through the seven Kingdoms.” You uttered the words, finally. A weight has been lifted off your shoulders.

“Do you have a name?” It was as if she completely ignored your words.

He was obnoxious, he was the first-born son of the King and you hated him with all of your heart. Your House was one of the richest of all of Westeros, so marriage proposals were coming left and right. But your parents are ambitious, they have money but now they want power. Since you are the only daughter, you are simply a political pawn being sold off to the highest bidder.

And who’s higher than the next in line to the throne, according to the greens? You were living in the Red Keep for years, and you were best friends with Haleana. There was a Prince that you were fond of already, Aemond. He was the man that you wanted to marry, he was the man of your dreams.

Aemond loves you and you love him, with all your heart. Ever since you were children you dreamed of marriage, his mother promised that the two of you would be together but no formal betrothal was initiated. But that didn't matter, he was yours and you were his. The worst day of your life was when Aemond lost his eye, you even yelled at the King for his callousness. That evening was the first time the two of you kissed, when you got older Aemond didn't take your maidenhood, you remember the day vividly.

“I want you, Aemond. Please, take me.” He was trying to control himself so much, having you in his bed begging for him was more than he could handle.

“Only on your wedding night, my love. I shall claim you as my wife, lover. The same as I have done to your heart and soul.” His hair was down, with no eye patch sapphire glimmering against the moonlight.

“I can’t wait.” The two of you slept peacefully after that, dreaming of your wedding day.

Aegon lusted after you, but he never acted on it due to the fact that he would face his brother’s wrath. You couldn’t stand being in the same room as him, he mistreated Haleana so much, but thankfully she left Kings Landing to marry a Lannister. She often sent letters, saying how happy she was, and how much her children were growing. Aegon remained unwed, the same as Aemond.

One day your parents sent a raven, saying that were coming to Kings Landing and organising your wedding to the Prince. You couldn’t be happier, you quickly ran towards Aemond’s chambers, you didn't even need to look where you were going, your feet knew where to take you.

“My love, my father wrote to me.” Aemond has never seen you so excited to receive any news from your family, you resented them so much.

“Pray tell what your detestable father has shared to put you in such high spirits?” Aemond kissed you tenderly, the only person that he truly loves flaws and all.

“They are coming to put our wedding in motion.” You jumped on him, wrapping your legs around his waist. You couldn’t be happier, you were finally going to become Aemond’s.

“That makes me happy.” Aemond whispered to you, he was a bit worried about your parents coming he didn't have a good feeling about it.

But Aemond could never crush your happiness with his worries, so he held you close and prayed to the gods that your parents would marry the two of you. You belonged together, it didn't matter if your father thought otherwise, you will be his forever.

Your parents’ carriage was coming, you were next to Aemond as usual. The Queen was unusually quiet, which worried Aemond. Aegon was nowhere to be found, and that’s when Aemond knew what was happening. When he looked at you, he saw the pure happiness on your face and he couldn’t tell you. He never wanted to crush your hopes, you should have that happiness for a few more moments.

Your father and mother left the carriage, and you ran towards them. You always knew that your parents didn't like you as much as your brothers, but now all the comments, all the belittling, the name-calling, it was all worth it, you were going to marry Aemond, the love of your life.

“Father, this is the happiest occasion.” You hugged him, you didn't hug your father often but you were happy that you were finally going to become Aemond’s.

“It is satisfactory that you are grateful for your betrothal, Prince Aegon.” You stopped hugging your father immediately.

“Not Aegon father, Aemond.” You wanted to believe that your father made a mistake, an innocent mistake.

“No, you shall be Queen.” He harshly said, you couldn’t believe what he was saying.

You looked at Aemond he was just as sad as you were, but he could hide it much better than you. Turning around and fleeing to your chambers whilst your parents called for you, it was cruel so incredibly cruel. They knew how much you loved Aemond and yet, they were going to make you marry Aegon. You started to sob uncontrollably, you had no idea how long you cried, but eventually, you fell asleep.

You’ve been married to the Targaryen Prince for almost a year now, you’re from a smaller House in the Reach, you have three brothers, and you are the youngest. Your mother is from Pentos, her family has a fortune so now your family has a lot of influence in Westeros. When your father told you that the King and Queen wanted you to marry their youngest son you didn't know what to think. But you and Aemond were able to become fast friends and with time, to love each other.

Even with the love you feel for one another you haven’t been able to conceive, that wasn’t entirely true, you had two pregnancies that ended in short of a month, and the Maester told you that it would take a while to fall pregnant again. But he was wrong because you were now pregnant a third time. You decided not to tell the Maester or Aemond for that matter.

“My love.” Aemond spoke coming to your chambers, you were getting ready for dinner with the Queen and Princess Heleana, you adored their company and they did yours.

“Where were you, my prince?” You turned to look at Aemond, you loved calling him ‘your prince’, and he loved hearing you say it.

“My brother has requested something of me, he and Heleana are to be married and he wants me to get the best wine in all of Essos, to give her as a gift.” You looked at Aemond incredulously.

“Aegon asked you to do that?” You snickered, there wasn’t a single bone in Aegon’s body to make him so considerate.

“It was a strange phenomenon, I was talking to my brother but I could only hear my mother.” You got up from the chair you were sitting, happy with your appearance. You came closer to Aemond and put your hand on his face, he leaned into your touch.

“Then you should go, anything to make your sister happy.” Aemond smiled at your statement, he loved the fact that you loved his sister.

“I’ll return in a fortnight, maybe less.” It was his turn to kiss you and it always took your breath away, you thanked the gods every day for having Aemond as your husband.

“Come back to me, my love.” Aemond caressed your face, he never tired to look at your beauty.

“I always do.” He left your chambers and you went to meet with the Queen and the Princess.

It didn't take long to get to the Queen’s chambers, you were wearing a green dress that the Queen gifted you, it was so pretty and comfortable. Ser Criston Cole opened the doors for you, and Heleana was the first to see you, she ran to you and hugged you tightly, and you hugged her back.

“I missed you, Y/N.” She mused, you smiled at her sweetness.

“We’ve seen each other at breakfast, Heleana.”

“Still too long, come sit.” The princess dragged you and you sat down in front of Queen Alicent, even knowing that she likes you and even pushed for your marriage with Aemond, she still intimidated you, she was the Queen after all.

“How are you, Y/N? Are you excited about your mother’s visit?” Alicent reached your hand and squeezed gently, with a genuine smile on her face.

“Very, I miss her dearly.” One of your brothers was on the Kinguards as well so your mother was able to come to Kings Landing more times throughout the year.

“At what time does she arrive?” Healena inquired, she also really liked your mother. Your mother shared her fascination with spiders, the same as the Princess.

“She won’t be long, I believe at dawn.” You smiled at the Princess’ reaction, she was clapping excitingly.

The dinner was nice, you and the Queen talked about many different subjects while Heleana was playing with her animals. After a couple of hours, you retired to your chambers, you knew the nights without Aemond would be long, sleeping without him made you restless. But you were able to sleep, not well but you did. The first rays of sunshine were peeking through your window, you heard the servants entering your chambers, this part of the morning was your favourite, especially with your mother coming.

You were ready for the day when the Maester came into your chambers, it was unusual for him to appear in your chambers, but you saw a scroll in his hand.

“A raven came for you in the night, my Princess.” He bowed and gave the scroll to you.

“Thank you, Maester.” He left you with the servants after that.

Hey hi long time no seeee I hope you are doing well! I was wondering if you can give me some tips 💡 for a video I was planning on making today (the first episode anyway) I was wondering if you had tips on character / OC making I feel like I have a good base to making characters but when I first heard about Rei's story (sorry if I spelled his name wrong) it was inspiring the amount of detail you put into it was crazy inspiring along with the small info dumps here and there about V he is also inspiring.

So please tips 🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️🙇‍♀️ I beg of you

There’s so many tips I can give that it would be hard to compile it all in one post… Hence why I plan to make a video about it soon but the main things I keep in mind when creating OCs are:

Create their backstories first before doing anything else. Backstories determine what a character is like in the present. Write about what they were like as a child; their personality, likes, dislikes, etc. How was their childhood like? Do they have family members? Where did they live? What did they experience? Writing these out first makes things a lot easier in the long run.

Once you finish their backstory, ask yourself: What are they like in the present? Have they changed? Do they suffer from traumatic experiences? If so, that’s a crucial part to their development and should be talked about. Like how Rei used to be violent as a teen but mellowed out as an adult.

Don’t just pick out random personality traits. They must have some kind of reason. I see too many OC creators give their characters traits or flaws that make no sense. This is because they don’t write the character’s backstory first or are too hung up about Mary Sues. Remember: positive traits can be negative traits. Like how Charlie’s really kind and selfless but is gullible and gets taken advantage of.

The last point also applies to likes and dislikes. Why does your character like what they like? Is it because it’s special to them? Or perhaps it’s just cause they find it cool? Why do they dislike a certain thing? Is it just irrational or is it because of a past experience? If you give likes and dislikes reason, even if it’s silly, it becomes more believable. For example: Lawrence hates loud noises, clutter, and flashing lights because it makes him overwhelmed. Lawrence likes cold weather because it reminds him of the times him and his family would snuggle up and bond together. Plus, he just likes cold weather cause he hates heat :P

Write little stories/drabbles of your characters!! Not everything needs to be shown in the main story. This makes your character more realistic and makes them more detailed. Write about the stupid things they did as a teen. Write the days they hung out with their friend(s) or lover(s). I do this with all my OCs and it really helps bring out their personality and traits.

Just remember: always write backstories first!! and then you can add all the fun lil facts about your scrimblos afterwards. That’s how I make all my OCs and well… you can tell how detailed they are because of it :P

Also, very funny how you mention Rei’s story… I cut a lot of information out of that video LOL

Hey guys :)

Spoilers for the new live action Ahsoka show!!

Did ya’ll hear about that theory going around about Ahsoka going to the world between worlds (from Rebels—when Ezra saved Ahsoka) and she sees an alternate timeline of Anakin on Mustafar and she’s the one to fight him instead of Obi?!? How are we feeling about that? I have mixed feelings (mostly cuz I don’t want them to retcon RotS).

RotS is top tier prequel SW imo and that entire Mustafar scene is just legendary at this point I feel like. If this theory/rumor turns out to be true, I would love it if they kept Obi’s dialog for Ahsoka because it would work for both of them. The whole ‘you were the Chosen One’/‘you were my brother Anakin—I loved you!’ Coming from Ahsoka would hurt so much (in S7 of CW Ahsoka tells Trace and Raffa that she learned her skills from her ‘older brother’).

If the whole ‘alternate timeline’ thing is true, I wonder how the fight scene would go. In RotS, when Obi says he has the high ground, Anakin attacks, using Obi’s move against him, but Obi knows how to counter and slices his legs and arm off. If Ahsoka and Anakin fight, I’d love for Anakin to use that jumping/spinning move he taught her to survive O66 and that’s how she’s able to defeat him. That’s her move, just like Anakin used Obi’s move.

It’s pretty much canon at this point that the reason Obi and Ahsoka have not seen each other post O66 is that Anakin/Vader would not live if they did meet up. Obi-wan is more powerful than Vader, but is unable to kill him because Obi still sees him as Anakin/his bro (until ANH). That’s why he didn’t kill Vader in his own show. He couldn’t do it.

Now Ahsoka, from what we’ve seen (ignoring Legends/EU), doesn’t know Anakin=Vader, and hates Vader (not realizing he’s Anakin until Rebels during their meetup during the Twilight Apprentice arc). In order to save Ezra/Kanan/Chopper, Ahsoka fights Vader (after saying she won’t leave him again, not this time) and despite being able to hold him off, she isn’t strong enough to defeat him. She’s kind of the opposite of Obiwan. She can kill him, it’s just that she isn’t strong enough to fight Vader (yet?).

Overall I’m very much looking forward to this show. I love the idea of Ahsoka/Sabine/Hera/Chop/Zeb going after Ezra and Thrawn. This is probably a controversial opinion, but as much as I LOVE Thrawn, I felt like he was done dirty in Rebels. He definitely had that sort of menacing presence in all of his scenes, but I don’t really remember him doing anything to the Ghost Crew that had lasting consequences (aside from that finale). Honestly, after hearing so much hype about him before I watched Rebels, I thought he’d be more dangerous (but I understand Rebels is more kid-oriented than CW).

I heard that more than one actress will be playing the role of Ahsoka (not just Rosario Dawson) and Hayden Christiansen will return as Anakin/Vader, which explains the whole ‘alternate timeline’ theory. I’m not sure how long Togrutas live (Ahsoka’s species) but it would be interesting if we get old lady Ahsoka during the sequel movie-era. Like what if she still talks w/ Luke/Leia? Luke would ask what to do about Rey and Leia would be complaining about Poe and Ahsoka would just give them advice?? Idk. I’d like her to become a sort of ‘Uncle Iroh’ character as she ages.

The whole premise of the show is about Ahsoka going off to find Ezra and Thrawn in an area called ‘New Space’ or something. It’s like an uncharted area of space or something—idk exactly so please correct me if I’m wrong.

Aside from the Ezra/Thrawn plot and the ‘alternate timeline’ theory, I’m not too sure what I’d like to see from this show aside from seeing more clones in live action. Fanfic Update—Those of you waiting for Chapter 5 of my Bad Batch fanfic Older Sister, don’t worry I’m almost done and am planning on posting after Xmas (I’m an artist so I’m working on lots of gifts atm and won’t have time to post here). I’m also working on a few short pieces about the clones (kinda like journal entries or something). For non-SW fics, I also have a few Arcane ‘fix-it’ scenes I’m writing as well as a full Arcane AU fanfic so look out for those as well as a Reader/Self-Insert Arcane fic that I’m not sure if I like lol. Star Wars and Arcane are my obsessions rn, but if any of you want to see something specific, I’m always open to requests. Chapter 21 - thoughts.

Heya everyoneeee!!! If you’re here, it’s probably because you’ve read the ending notes of chapter 21 😈 and had decided to see what else I had to say about that chapter hehe.

If not, then you’re still welcome here 🥰 (although I must tell you to read chapter 21 first!! If not, you’re only going to get spoiled half-context post—you can read the chapter right…here!)

Anyways, I decided to start writing extra notes for this chapter (and probably the ones after, if I have anything to say of course) because I wanted to share more of my thoughts and just what goes through my mind 😂 like what inspired me and what I tried to convey.

Without further ado, I hope you enjoy my little notes :3

Now, let’s start with chapter 21!

I guess we can all agree that Naobito is a piece of shit—however, just how shitty is he?

I think you can argue that most of my inspiration came from the Endeavor-Dabi dynamic, Naoaki being Touya/Dabi, of course, if Dabi hadn’t completely snapped as well as having Shoto turn into a little shit.

My interpretation of Naobito was that of Endeavor’s before it was explained that he wasn’t like… that shitty at first? I remember there was a point where everyone headcanon’d he was an absolute monster with him —he was either way but that’s another point— like all these fanarts depicting him being straight up disrespectful to his son by calling him not good enough and comparing him to Shoto, and not caring when he died??

And then Rei, who everyone had in a pedestal and turned out to be that she wasn’t that good of a mother either (understandable, for she was in an abusive environment) to which she admitted she could’ve done better in certain aspects (having her ignore the rest of the children just to focus on Shoto was something I definitely see Tomoko doing with Naoya, probably under the orders of Naobito) I wanted to explore something like that with Tomoko, but I’ve decided to keep her involvement kind of limited for future purposes 😈

Anyways, when it was time to create Naoaki’s background, I took their story as my main inspiration. Naobito didn’t seem to me like the kind of person that would completely ignore his son, or someone to see things all the way to the end—allowing himself to be completely absorbed by his feelings. So, I had to make both his two-sided hypocritical nature, as well as his willingness to take the extra step to berate his children, by giving them snide comments here and there that would eventually gaslight Naoaki into doubting himself.

AND LET’S NOT FORGET POOR NAOFUMI.

I hated writing that scene—which not even part of the original outline. I just thought that it was a great way to show the turning point in Naoki’s life, the one that helped him decide that his brother’s were far more important than pleasing his father. If you must know, his siblings are incredibly protective of him due to the fact that those rejected by Naobito often spent most of their free time with their mom, who tended to him 24/7.

Moving on, I’m not sure if I was obvious enough, but I wanted to portray similarities between Naoya and Naobito, like in the way they shrugged and spoke to Naoaki lol truly the apple doesn’t fall that far from the tree.

Now, I think that Naoaki is a victim of his circumstances, for he was conceived as a tool for Naobito’s use, who maintained relevancy thanks to the fact that there wasn’t anyone else to take his role (that is, until Naoya arrived)

However, I think his fall from grace ended up being harsher due to the situations that occurred before hand:

Naofumi’s sickly condition lead many of his relatives to keep a closer eye on his mother throughout her pregnancy, (morbidly wanting to see if she would birth another child with the same conditions as Naofumi, or not)

The birth of Gojo—a fact that rattled the whole jujutsu community on its own. I tried to highlight how important this situation was by intertwining both the Gojo’s and Zen’in’s technique, something like: one cannot exist without the other, thus if one is around…the other soon follows behind. Another reason that leads Naoaki’s relatives to be further interested in Tomoko. (I headcanon some where disappointed that Naoya didn’t get the 10 shadow’s technique, but that didn’t bother much after a while lol)

I also think that, as talented as Naoaki was, he eventually had to face the obstacle of stunting himself in a spot where growth was becoming harder and harder to achieve. After all, Naoya is canonically considered the most talented one of his brothers, something had to set them apart if they both had his father’s technique.

I don't think his separation from his father would've been that bad if these things hadn't happened, perhaps even the elders would've encouraged Naobito to continue training both of them at the same time, because they were undeniably talented and they would be fools to not add more strength to their family; unfortunately, they were already very tense because they feared their luck was running out, so when Naoya was finally born, he was seen like a blessing lol.

Now, the other thing I consider important to talk about is Y/N’s final reaction—while I was writing that scene, I initially intended for Naoaki to simply take her back to her room when she said she wanted to lay down, perhaps even get Mariya involved where she’s a bit suspicious of her mistress’ newfound relationship (which she already was) but something inside me told me to take it to the next level and have her vomit lmao as well as get her period, because let’s not forget that one of the many instigators of Y/N’s life!!

Something that I was still hesitant about, for I thought that perhaps her response was one to be an overreaction—but then…I remembered that Y/N was having a very difficult time throughout these past few days: from having to deal with an angered Naoya (which made her believe she was about to get killed by him) to Naobito turning her fear into a reality, breaking down upon realizing she was basically locked from the outside world, having a su1c1d3 scare with her staff, meeting the twins and seemingly scaring them away for good, and now facing Naoaki (whom she initially believed to be out for her) and his tragic background.

Well… the accumulation of all these things finally took a toll on her mental health, which lead her to be highly insecure of herself, as well as very sensitive to her surroundings. And I thought the best way to portray her inner turmoil was to do so physically: which is why I went down that route! (also, it reminds me allot of that one scene from avatar, where Zuko does like one nice thing and he gets sick—kind of a poetic way to show how difficult change can be haha)

And then… the ending. I really didn’t know how to finish that chapter; my two options at that point were: making Y/N declare that she absolutely hates Naoya and her relationship with (giving the impression that their relationship was beyond repair at this point) or having her accept her imminent death, but not without cause (to avoid putting an innocent child under this toxic environment)

Nonetheless, I believe that either route would’ve show how determined she was to detach herself from the Zen’in family.

BUT!

We do have an unexplored relationship with Naoaki, and a few more loose ends to deal with—so anything can happen at this point 👀

hi there! it has been more than a year since i received this sweet message. i'm really sorry it took a long while to respond. i would like to take this opportunity as well to just say a little something something. hope you don't mind!

i have been very busy with work and life in general as everyone had been lol. last year felt like my heart and my mind were not at peace and i was really struggling. some days, i was itching to write and get a little creative. but, most days, i just wanted to lay down and sleep. my writer's block was also the worst and having it was cherry on top of everything.

there were times when i thought of posting and just telling you guys about how life had been or update at least about where i am going with my writing because i owe you guys a ton because of how supportive you have always been.

i don't wanna make this any longer. announcement about starry-eyed: i will be discontinuing the story and removing the series from my masterlist. i sincerely apologize for everyone that looked forward to their story. i'm sorry it took this long. i didn't wanna write anything that my heart and mind wasn't set on, thus the discontinuation. despite that, thank you for supporting me and the story.

second announcement: i have started with ifliys's (i found love in your smile) revamp. it has been my goal to rewrite the series and i'm excited to do it! no promises though! working on it with the best that i could (in other words, when i'm free from the corporate world).

that's about it. i miss being here and just seeing cute seventeen posts or interacting with some of you guys. there has not been a day where i don't check my notifications and still see some you of liking and reblogging my writing. thank you, it really means a lot.

SO LET ME GET THIS STRAIGHT, haru was mad but like quite cold frosty mad, but the one who actually cut the other off is rin right, and dude regretted it like hell right, like like haru was saying "bro u always disapear on me" and rin EVER THE GENIUS ABT HIS FEELINGS actually SAID thx for the relay but this doesnt concern me anymore, like FAM, FAM STOP AND //////LISTEN TO WHAT UR SAYING////////// THIS IS THE DOMINO EFFECT THAT KICKSTARTED THE FREE SERIES, AND ITS GONNA START ALL OVER AGAIN SMHHH

Well, technically, it was Rin, yeah, but not for the reason you thought, if you read my previous post about the scene, you'd get that it's not that simple, the way Haru said what he said left basically no hope in Rin's opinion that he'd want to be with him. He did stop after turning away before leaving to say thanks for that relay. I think he was hoping to hear him say that it was mutual, which inside!Haru did with "I was happy with you too", but Rin can't hear the inside!Haru. Only then he bitterly dropped what he didn't mean and for what he called himself an idiot. So it's like... it depends on how you look at it, I can't quite tell who broke it off haha. But about Rin being a genius as usual it's true, bc it's how the fight started that killed me.. like thats on him.

As for the fact that no one could ever label them as to who they are for each other, it's yeah.. it's like this since forever, there's the drama when Rin goes "he and I... to me Haru..." and then it's just blank, same with his talk with Rei and even creators always say smth like.. when you have someone who brings so much passion and light into you life, you can't help but be drawn to them, and how no matter of the obstacles they will always find their way back to each other and etc but then it's like... is there a word for such a special person in your life? Like the new Zakki's last interview, that murdered me about how "Rin's the light of Haru's life and that just the possibility that he might leave him again just the thought of it evoked such rejection and fear in him, that it erupted inside of his heart with burning lava". Its like.. try and find a term for that lmao. This is also the same person, one dumb text from whom can make Haru laugh, while the rest of the world won't hear it like ever haha.

Each time they ask them this and this thing starts, I'm like... what do you want them to say even lmao. Something like this?

And remember how in 1x10 Haru "explained" his and Rin's relationship to Rei and Rei was just sitting there with Nagisa after that like "what was he even saying?" lol. It was like:

Rei was just "that was very nice of Haruka-senpai to tell such a story, but I still do not get the two". Haha

And true, Rin's only problem wass always the fact that he's not good enough or that he won't be able to swim with him and be his perfect rival, thats what upsets him, when he can't reach. He's never sad about Haru winning, he always only either how he said in Australia absolutely astonished at how amazing Haru is or turned on a bit when he beats him, you know xD:

so it is complicated. And the fact that he might just not be that special to Haru is also always killing him, I think he genuinely doesn't get what he means to him and that it's not about the fact whether he is or isn't gonna be the best. Like he doesn't know that Haru can win a race even just thinking about him and that it's not about you know... who's cooler faster and etc. Its about how he feels with him and how water feels for him when Rin's there, it's not even about the fact that they're on par or not. Haru never fucking cared tbh.

and at this point he just cares about the possibility of standing there with him, not being on top. And like gold in butterfly is good, but like for him its not the same as gold in free :(

BnHA Chapter 301: All My Todorokis

Previously on BnHA: We learned that when a bunch of superpowered villains are suddenly set loose with nobody around to stop them, things get fucked pretty quickly. Old Man Samurai and a bunch of other useless people decided to make “I pretend I do not see it” their new mantra, and resigned. Endeavor had a moment of despair on account of being crushed by the guilt of having ruined the lives of himself, his family, and basically everyone else in the entire world. For various reasons the heretical notion of “person who has done bad things feels sorry for doing them” sent fandom spiraling into a meltdown, so that was fun. The chapter ended with the entire Todoroki clan descending upon Enji’s hospital room to have a dramatic chat about Touya and All That General Fuckery.

Today on BnHA: Horikoshi is all “here’s the story of how Baby Touya slowly went insane trying to win his father’s love.” It’s a tale full of subverted expectations and heartbreaking inevitability, and also like twenty panels of the cutest fucking kids who ever existed on planet earth, who are so fucking cute that I can’t stop thinking about their cuteness even with all of the horrifying family tragedy unfolding around them. It is absolutely ridiculous how cute they are. Touya is out here pushing his tiny body past its limits because he inherited the same obsession as his dad and neither of them can put it aside even though it’s destroying them, and yet all I can think about is Baby Shouto’s (。･o･｡) face. Anyways what a chapter.

so I have to confess that even though I managed to avoid being caught off-guard by the early leaks, the number of people reblogging my Endeavor posts from earlier this week and using the tag “bnha 301” kind of gave me an inkling that this chapter will include more Tododrama lol. that said, I don’t know anything else about it, so we’re still good spoiler-wise

holy shit holy fuck. so this is Rei and Enji’s first meeting, then??

so wait, I know this is not even the slightest bit important, but are they meeting at Enji’s home or Rei’s? because I always figured that Enji was the one with the super-Japanese aesthetic, but maybe that was Rei’s side of the family all along

(ETA: from what I found during my very brief google search, omiai meetings are often held at fancy hotels or restaurants, so maybe that’s what this is.)

there’s such a period drama feel to this setting. like it’s so outrageously formal fff how can anyone stand this kind of atmosphere though seriously

I mean they’re still stiff af but at least they’re not rigidly sitting in seiza and staring at each other unblinkingly anymore lol. Enji’s actually got his hands in his pockets now. why is this somehow almost cute

oh damn it’s the flowers

Rei seems so subdued and it’s so hard to get any idea of what she’s actually thinking. I want to see her side of this dammit

but anyway, so at least from Enji’s perspective it seems like even though the marriage was arranged and he picked her because of her quirk, he still loved his wife and wanted to do right by her. the fact that he was watching her and noticed that she liked the flowers, and remembered that detail for all these years -- there’s a reason why Horikoshi’s showing us this. we know what’s going to happen later on; we know how much fear and violence and breaking of trust is coming up ahead, and while it may seem like this scene is serving to soften Enji’s character further -- which to be fair it is -- it also helps drive home the full impact of his abuse. that it’s so terrible not only because of the trauma of the abuse itself, but also because of the way it retroactively destroys all of the good things as well. this could have potentially been such a sweet scene, but it’s inescapably tainted by the knowledge of what’s to come, at least for me. and that’s just brutal

anyways, shit. is the whole chapter going to be like this?? feel free to toss in something I can actually make a joke about sometime, Horikoshi

(ETA: and on a more serious note, it’s interesting to see that “look at me”/”watch me” theme being used again though, because we see that same sentiment uttered repeatedly by the younger Touya in the flashback. well kid, you definitely got your wish at last. don’t know what else to say.)

OKAY HORIKOSHI HAS DECIDED THAT’S ENOUGH FUN, TIME FOR MORE FLASHBACKS

just as cute as we left him. giving us a child this cute when we all know full well what’s going to happen to him is just unspeakably cruel though

and meanwhile there’s ALL THIS BACKGROUND ANGST BUILDING UP, AND I CAN’T EVEN FOCUS ON IT. Touya’s arm and cheek are covered in bandages (I’m guessing this is shortly after that “ouch!” panel we got some chapters back), and Enji is deliberately avoiding training with him because he doesn’t want him to hurt himself further. I can’t fucking get over the irony that all this time everyone thought Touya had died because Enji pushed him too far in his training, and it turns out that it’s the opposite -- the tragedy ultimately happened because he didn’t want to push him. but I’m jumping ahead of myself though I guess

so now someone is talking and basically saying that Touya is the exact opposite of what Enji was hoping for when he decided to start playing with quirk genetics

also are they just home alone lol or what. “hey Touya, you’re what, like six now?? do us a favor and look after your baby sister for a couple hours for us would you? make sure not to set yourself on fire or anything.” WHAT COULD POSSIBLY GO WRONG!!

now it’s nighttime and Enji and Rei are arguing, presumably about his decision not to train Touya anymore

whew. okay. so, a couple of things here

1. first of all I think this conclusively shows that Enji really was trying to do the best he could for Touya. he stopped training him as soon as he realized it was hurting him, but Touya was still determined so he tried to make it work anyway, and even visited doctors to try and figure out if there was anything they could do. then, once they were absolutely sure that it wasn’t going to work, he tried multiple times to explain to Touya why they had to stop. he didn’t just abandon him out of the blue, which is really important to note. “no matter how much I tried telling him...”

so yeah, that debunks another common fandom accusation. so by the time he finally makes this decision, which we all know is going to turn out horribly, it’s basically because he’s already tried everything else he could think of. which, by the way, still doesn’t mean he handled this right. but at the very least he was taking Touya’s feelings into account and he was trying, and he didn’t just abruptly toss his son aside (at least not yet)

2. buuuut, then there’s this panel right below all that

which is the other side of it. if he’d just quit like the doctor person advised him to, that would have been the end of it. Touya would still have been upset, but he would have eventually gotten over it and the family would have moved on and possibly even been happy. but what happens next happens because Enji can’t let go. he still has this maddening urge to surpass All Might, and so he and Rei keep having more children, and then Shouto is born, and Enji finally has a kid he can start projecting all of his hysterical ambitions onto once again, and everything starts spiraling out of control soon after

though p.s. none of that is Shouto’s fault though!! he’s one of the few good things to come out of this whole mess and I’m very happy that he exists. the tragedy is that his dad fucking lost his mind over his quirk and fucked everything up. but that’s on him, not Touya or Shouto

fucking hell. it’s agonizing seeing how close they actually were to fixing it. if he’d only said the right words, or if he’d realized at this point how destructive his obsession could be to his kids, and backed off from putting that same pressure on Shouto. we came so close to possibly having a happy ending

Chapter 299: Despite everything, it’s still you.

Omg, there’s so much to talk about. We go so many answers this week and there's so, SO much to talk about. Ok, let’s just jump in!!!

Let’s go ahead and start from the beginning and work our way forward from there, starting with his parents.

Us: Horikoshi, can we have super cool Thief Takami?!

Horikoshi: We have Hawks’ dad at home.

Hawks’ dad at home:

Played like a fiddle, and I think we knew it was going to happen, too. LOL I will only give Horikoshi the one criticism that relying on vague details like “thief and murderer” next to Compress‘ reveal was an unintentional red herring for a lot of us, and the name “Takami” which came from his father clearly mattered, but not in any way that we expected. He was just some paranoid, two-bit wannabe thug.

So paranoid that he never let Keigo leave the dilapidated house where even the unnecessarily mean barbed wire fence was deteriorating, possibly making him go barefoot at all time to discourage him from leaving but definitely neglecting him and his needs for clean clothes that fit and a home that isn't filthy as he occupied the only space he allowed him to exist in while he sent his mother off to do his bidding.

In other words @sleepwalkersqueen's Shinyo is an infinitely superior. We're keeping him. Sometimes fanon is better.

No, it turns out the person that molded his worldview most and impacted the way he viewed himself was his mother. It was even her quirk - a disembodied sense that could watch from far away - that transformed his father's otherwise feeble, rigid feathers into the fantastic, one-of-a-kind quirk he has.

Hawks was not an accident. He was a band-aid baby she had to try to get Takami to stay with her because she didn't know how to live without him. She doesn't come to her baby's defense like Rei did for her children. When the father of her child beats and screams at him, she doesn't even turn to face the scene - it's only when he expresses dissatisfaction with her and his life in that house does she respond, and even then it's with,

"Don't leave, ok?"

Not once.

But twice in as many minutes.

It's why when she panics and realizes that having Keigo didn't work to keep him there with her, and not only that she's on the run for staying with him with a ball and chain now also around her ankle she asks:

"Why were you even born? Why do you even have those wings? You aren't useful or any good for me or anyone else. You're a waste of space."

Tomie was a woman who placed her worth in the validation of a man happy to use her for the value she could add to his criminal enterprises and nothing more - a woman frail of heart and mind who asks her small son what to do instead of assuming responsibility.

She doesn't have the strength of will to accept that she had a role in her own fate and especially the fate of the son she brought into the world.

But that doesn't mean she doesn't love him.

Hawks remembers this moment as his mother indulging him once to shut him up after his father insisted he never so much as leave those four broken walls; but that's not what's happening here at all.

She doesn't say, "Don't tell your father." She says, "Your father doesn't need to know about this."

This is a treat - given to him for no reason than to spoil him a little bit. She doesn't realize he doesn't even register that heroes are real people when she buys him that plushie. He sees just a cartoon character she says is strong, and she's encouraging him to be the same to give him hope and an ideal to strive towards even if it slips later. This moment is for him and him alone.

And when he realizes that heroes are REAL people, who REALLY do make a difference, in ways he may not see but clearly impacts him ANYWAY!?

It's LIFE CHANGING.

Life isn't a bleak dead-end series of disappointments. He can fight back against the hurt the world dishes out and help people, too, so they don't have to suffer like he did. He can be a shining light as bright as the man who brought light into his dark world even from so far away!

It's a shame that he also inherited his mother's sense of self-worth and believes to this day that his worth lies in being useful to others. As long as others suffer in any way, he won't find peace in his existence.

Mmm, to add on to the victim hood post... it was also mentioned (I forget where, but I think it’s when Shoto started visiting Rei) that he apologized to Rei and she forgave him? I understand that he may have apologized for not visiting all this time but I feel the writing around that is weird because he shouldn’t have to apologize, he avoided her for valid reasons because of a possible relapse since she was the one that burned him (not saying the blame is entirely on her since her mental state is because of E.) I like Rei, but I feel she was written poorly, like how in the hospital scene saying the blame is on the WHOLE family for Touya and putting Shoto on a pedestal for being better because he’s a hero (isn’t Natsuo learning to become a doctor? And Fuyumi a teacher, shouldn’t you be happy they are trying to do good things to or do they have to be heroes? Idk, I may has misinterpreted that scene and I apologize.) That hospital scene was just a mess to me and I hope HK has something planned to make up for it lol. I believe it was you or some other user I read that Rei and Touya are just used as plot devices to further E and it’s unfortunate... let E atone for his mistakes without ALWAYS needing the support of others, to me it shows the guy is incompetent and unable to even register HOW much damage he has really caused to his family (still working as a hero does not = being a good father E, so will see where HK goes!) Sorry, this got long haha

you are indeed correct about the weird phrasing of this scene (if it really is the one you were referencing).

Again, to clarify what I meant in the other post, I don't exactly take issue with Shouto feeling guilty and responsible for Rei's commitment. Feelings are often irrational like that, and it makes sense for Shouto to feel responsible, since his father basically raised him to think that way. But the writing here doesn't really make a distinction between Shouto's feelings and what we're supposed to take away from this scene. Without the framing telling us that Shouto's self-blame is misplaced, this reads like Shouto really needed Rei's forgiveness. Which is bullshit. What Shouto needed was reconnection. That's why after he talks to her he's finally able to move on. For ten years, he harbored the crippling fear of becoming like the man who had caged her.

Then again, the topic of forgiveness in bnha is handled very weirdly in general. Like in this scene:

Where Shouto's willingness to let it be water under the bridge is framed as the true heroic call, the reason that makes him a good person. Which is very offputtting when you remember that throughout the story, Shouto has done nothing but ask Endvr to start acting like a father, and up to this scene, Endvr still hadn't done anything in that regard. So uhhhh

Horikoshi really bends backwards to make Endvr more palatable and more redeemable by easing off part of the blame from his shoulders or by making every single character except Dabi willing to give him a second chance he's literally done nothing to earn. But at this point I've exhausted all my salt on this topic so I really have nothing more to add.

On the topic of Rei and how the todofam plot in the hospital chapters is a mess, I ranted at length about it here. You don't have to read it, but you might find you agree on a couple of points

I've noticed after a while (and many posts) that you include Fuyumi-trying-not-to-resemble-her-mother in many of your tags, and I really want to hear your thoughts on that whole character dynamic. Or how you headcannon Fuyumi in general, I'd just like to know more and I haven't seen a lot of people delve into her character. It's always one of the brothers.

*vibrates at a totally normal speed* I would love to talk about Fuyumi yes

Warning: the following headcanons contain a decent bit of projecting. Is it me being a teacher? An eldest daughter? My complicated relationship with the idea of a "traditional family"? Probably all of it

First, if you don't mind a plug, I wrote a oneshot that has like 90 percent of all my fuyumi headcanons in it, The Walls Are Thin, and so. Obvious my headcanon that she's Touya's younger twin has been disproven but I like it a lot so,,, I don't care

So, there are some things about Fuyumi that didn't make it into the anime- manga!Yumi has blue eyes like Enji and Touya, and her arm was also bandaged in the flashback soccer scene when Shoto is talking about their abusive childhood which is very interesting to me.

Now, as for Fuyumi and Rei- I don't think Fuyumi hates her mother. I don't even think she hates her mother but is ok with full reconciliation like she is with her father. But I do think they have a very complicated relationship. Rei was institutionalized when Fuyumi was eleven, and from that moment on Fuyumi basically had to take over the raising of her brothers. Fuyumi lost her mother at eleven and then had to become one herself, because Rei burned her littlest brother.

Fuyumi was a child- and here's the thing. Rei's breakdown was sudden, but not surprising. She looked bad in the flashback right before it, she was begging her own mother for help. She looked sleep deprived and skittish. So even before Rei was sent away, I don't know how much she was actually mothering Fuyumi. Shoto can't really tell us that, and Fuyumi... Doesn't seem to want to think much on her past or give flashbacks to the two of them. So when Fuyumi is eleven, is ten, is nine- she's seeing this happen to her mother as a process. Rei is fading away, and Fuyumi is right at the age to actually begin to sort of understand it and be scared.

Shoto is aware that the marriage was motivated primarily to get a quirk like his. I see no reason that Fuyumi would be unaware of this ether, even when she was younger.

A lot of mental health problems can be hereditary- I remember my mother talking to me about her health history and her own mom's health history bc there's a looooot of problems there lol but Fuyumi didnt get that. She got to see her mother stuck in a hospital for a decade for a breakdown. She got to learn in school that those kinds of things can be passed down to children just like quirks. I'd bet anything that Fuyumi is terrified of having a breakdown like that. Of being like her mother- someone who cared for children that she couldn't protect from Enji for ten years or so, then being locked away when she finally snapped.

There's also her status as only daughter- besides the fact that all the wifely duties were put on her, there are still more expectations. Touya is dead, Natsuo is so ignored he didn't need to be disowned, Shoto is primed only to be one thing: the number one hero. Fuyumi, who has been mothering since she was eleven, would be looked to first for grandchildren.

This isn't to say that Enji ever expressed a single care about that- I doubt he did. But Fuyumi's grandmother was seen in some early flashbacks. I'm not sure if that was Rei or Enji's mother, but either way... Well, she'd certainly talk about how pretty she was. How sweet. How good to her brothers now that her poor mother is away. How obedient a daughter. And even if this grandmother doesn't talk about a quirk marriage explicitly, Fuyumi knows that she either raised a man who looked for one by the age of twenty, or was wholly complicit in her daughter getting one.

Even if, logically, Fuyumi knows her father wouldn't arrange her one- either because she's more useful at the house, or he doesn't pay enough attention, or he's going through a post Kamino character development- there's the fact that she also knows It's Not Impossible. She knows that if her family is as high up as it is and utterly rotten inside, there could be lots of people like that in their social circles. There could be someone who has that sort of interest in her.

Anyway, all that gives Fuyumi some very, very complicated feelings on motherhood and marriage. I don't think she wants either. Ever. She's a teacher, so she likes to work with kids- but we know a part of that is to make up for not being able to help her little brothers. She's full of guilt. I don't think she'd ever be interested in romance or anything else with a man, after seeing how it turned on and utterly broke Rei. And while I do sometimes have Fuyumi as lesbian, I also really think she might be aroace. This adds fun spice where she asks herself things like "wait is this just my trauma or my actual identity" and haha same I'm sorry I project on her a lot anyway sorry Fuyumi,,, you deserve a happy life. A normal life. But you don't get one ♥️

And the normal life thing- that's because Fuyumi is tired. She's tired of being a mother to her brothers. She's tired of having the responsibility of parenting without any of the power or control. She wants to be treated like a normal daughter and sister. And that can't happen if her brothers, esp Natsuo who she saw even more, keeps fully crediting his raising to her. Even if it's the truth, and even if Natsuo loves their mother and had no problem with her- he certainly wouldn't claim Rei influenced him more than Fuyumi did. That's why she's so desperate specifically for him to reconcile.

And she did see Natsuo more- but I think Fuyumi is also very close to Shoto. Closer than he thinks. Not just because her first two appearances are just her trying to protect Shoto by warning him when Enji is pissed off or when he will be, though that certainly helps- she's rather attuned to that stuff, and at least sorta used to Shoto sometimes listening to her about that kind of advice. But Shoto is being shaped deliberately to basically be Enji 2.0 . He has no choice but to be a hero. He has no choice but to train hard and get strong. He's supposed to beat All Might in a rivalry. All that stuff. Fuyumi, likewise, is shaped to be Rei 2.0. Take care of the children. Be soft. Not cut out for heroics. Not able to stop Enji from doing anything. Support Shoto. Cook. Clean. Take over when the housekeeper leaves, because why hire another one when there's a fourteen, fifteen, sixteen year old who can do it? Don't go to anyone for help, because no one who can help you will believe you or want to help you.

Shoto is supposed to succeed where Endeavor failed against All Might.

Fuyumi is supposed to succeed where Rei failed in going against Enji.

And all this, in a house where "like Rei" is an insult that her father shouts- to have her mother's constitution is a terrible thing. It's why her first two brothers were failures. Being "like Rei" means you are weak, and useless, and going to break down, going to be sent away.

And Fuyumi is supposed to be "like Rei", but without any of those bad parts.

Anyway wow this is such a long post.

That's why I think Fuyumi has a complicated relationship with her mother and with her appearance! If Fuyumi had been a boy, there always would have been a housekeeper there. She could have been a big brother- a big brother overly relied on, yes, but not a father. Fuyumi is not a boy. She is "like Rei." She is like Rei, who poured boiling water on a child because he had red hair, and a blue eyes.

So I think Fuyumi looks in the mirror, and sees red lines in her hair, and blue eyes behind glasses that neither of her parents need. And I think she keeps her hair shorter than Rei, and doesn't let it hang long like her mother prefers. And I think Fuyumi looks in the mirror, and sees that she's not just exactly like one or the other of her parents- and I think she says "thank God"

Lmfao I’ve been too deep into drawing life studies that I sort of embodied AUs or even post Eva stuff. I’m kind of either wanting to write fanfic or draw a mini comic. But here goes this synopsis:

Proposal #1. Shinji is nervous, today he has to go to work alone as Mari takes a sick day off. Shinji is nervous because he’s still not used to his new work environment, the thought of it makes him a bit nauesous. Though, to calm his nerves, Shinji starts to plug in his air pods and listens to classical music.

It was sparsely crowded, but Shinji had his own seat on the car. He clutched onto his backpack and whilst thinking about the music, and eventually drifted into a state of unawareness. Closing his eyes as he knows the ride home will take half hour, he’d hoped to get shut eye and wake up in time. Though as soon as the first song ended, he didn’t realise the presence of another person next to him.

“Was that ode to joy?” The person who sat next to him said.

Shinji’s alertness was displayed in a jolt, a little disorientated from being half asleep he turned to his left. His eyes widened without saying anything.

A tall white hair man dressed in...Shinji knows him, though Kaworu doesn’t realise it. Without another second to think, Shinji asked, “would you like to listen together?”

Kaworu was boldly surprised, and his shyness was displayed, something Shinji knows he’s never seen before.

“I little surprised by your question, but I just wanted to tell you about your tapping.” Kaworu said with his hand on his face and looking at the floor.

Shinji traced the direction of his eyes and saw his foot slightly lifted, which meant he tapped unconsciously. Embarrassed for himself now, Shinji apologised and offered to find another seat. Flustered he was thinking of moving until Kaworu pulled him arm sharply to make Shinji forcibly sit.

“I think you’re misunderstanding something.”

“Is that so—?” Shinji replies, looking away (still embarrassed of what just happened).

“Yes, that song is my favourite, you often don’t find people who know classical music” and he points to Shinji’s foot, he continues “do you play the piano?”

Shinji’s face turned to from dumbfounded to a small smile.

“No but I play the cello actually, though I do know someone who played the piano and they introduced me to some pieces”.

Kaworu smiles back and he takes out his phone and asks for Shinji’s number . A bit flustered Shinji exchanges information with him. Within moments, he texts “hello 👋 “ and Shinji looking at the screen in disbelief; he takes a slight look at Kaowru who scrolls thru his phone and then a bzzt notification notifies Shinji of a new message, it’s a playlist.

I guess I never introduced myself, but my name is Nagisa Kaworu, he smiles gently. And Shinji stares in disbelief and returns with another smile, my name is Imari Shinji, but you can just call me Shinji

The bus stops and calls out the destination and Kaworu says oh this is my stop, I have a younger sister and she’s actually starting to get lessons on the violin.

“I’ll see you later Shinji-kun let’s meet again.” Kaworu says with an ease-ful smile before heading out.

Shinji smiles and replies with, “Mmh (yes)” with a small nod.

Proposal #2. AU Where Kaworu is a student from the countryside and lives with adopted relatives a.k.a Ryoji and Misato; his “brother” is Misato’s son younger Ryoji. He goes to Tokyo to study agricultural engineering but he really wants to be a music producer. He enjoys the piano a lot and tries to find the music room and stumbles across Shinji who is playing the cello.

He’s a math major and wants to be a home room teacher. He’s childhood friends Asuka who has a one sided crush on him but he doesn’t feel the same way. Asuka later actually goes out with Kensuke. Rei and Kaworu are classmates but find themselves to share similar interests which leads them to be friends.

Rei is later introduced to Shinji as a initial love interest by her going to a university “mixer” party (more like all the students in their year/grade go to party). Rei and Kaworu actually go together, though Kaworu is very stubborn until caves in. With his looks, he attracts a lot of attention from everyone. Though he enjoys the interaction, but he sees Shinji and remembers the piano incident.

Shinji did have a crush on Rei, though he later realised he likes her for the wrong reasons/for mistaken reasons and both stay good friends. Sometime later Rei discovers she and Kaworu are siblings but separated at birth. Kaworu also realizing he likes Shinji a lot and the more time they spend together Shinji also reciprocates.

In this AU Kaworu wants to be a music producer lol tho he still likes environmental engineering; Rei wants to save earth so she’s a environment science or a human resource/social services major cause she likes kids and people, Asuka is an civil engineer/or computer science i guess and that’s how she meets Kensuke🤷🏻‍♀️. Toji is premed/prenursing/pre-PA he’s unsure and Shinji is a math major though considering engineering just like his father. However he still wants to be a home room teacher. Mari I think I’d put her in chemical engineering 😴 cause ig she’s the “Mary sue” of the series.
