A Tale of Spirits Status and Other Updates (Long Post)

I've gotten a lot of questions about A Tale of Spirits and its hiatus status over the past few days (months lol). I've been mulling over this post for a while now, avoiding it if I'm honest, but I've gotten to a point where even I can't avoid the writing on the wall.

So, let's start with what's holding me up. Over the last ten-eleven months, I've been dealing with a nerve issue in my wrists and hands (both, if you can believe it). Now it's nothing super serious (we haven't had any surgery talks, thank God), but it bothers me constantly throughout the day, and having an office job doesn't really help. It's crazy to go through some of these older Tumblr posts because my hands were bothering me even then, but I didn't want to admit it.

Long story short, I feel like I'm caught in this...loop of trying to heal. I'll have really good, consecutive days, and when I think I'm on the right track, something happens, and I'm pulled right back into it. It's frustrating, demoralizing, and terrifying all at once. I try not to spiral into worst-case scenarios with this whole thing, but my hands are numbing while I'm typing this. So....yeah, it's slowed my writing practically to a halt. I can bang out a couple hundred words here and there and focus on one-offs since they don't feel so...daunting, but chaptered anything mentally makes my hands twitch. My long sessions are gone at the moment and this leads me to that writing on the wall I mentioned earlier.

I don't know when A Tale of Spirit will return.

Man, that hurts to type. ATOS has been a part of my life for almost two years now. I've grown so much from this story, and my writing has evolved so much from this story. I have so much fun with ATOS. I mean, that's the point of fanfic, but I have fun with ATOS. I go back and reread parts, and I laminate past narrative choices as if those words are written in stone. I snicker while working out dialogue and really (and I mean really) let loose with action choices and experiment.

Hell, I have AUs of this AU on my drive lol. I owe a lot of my growth and confidence to ATOS. I mean, I read every comment and every Tumblr message (and I mean every comment). The support and love this story has received makes me believe that I'm not as terrible of a writer as I thought, that I might actually hack it in the literary world, so it's devastating that I can't put all my energy into this or my personal work.

To be honest, I'm still halfway in denial. I know I'm going to finish this story eventually. I love it too much, but I can finally admit that I'm not sure when that 'eventually' will be. Geez, I should've written this a while ago, but denial is a blinding thing.

I tackle writing when I can, but the nerve thing has thoroughly pulled me into a slump.

I'm going to update ATOS to say indefinite hiatus and put this same message on AO3.

I'm not saying goodbye to ATOS. I was deep in my unposted arcs before all of...this reached a peak even I couldn't ignore. I was really doing something with April, Zuko, and Suki (fun dynamic, by the way). Azula's been fun to play with, and angry, fed-up turtles have been a challenge in a half, so I want you guys to see that one day.

So, there it is. I know this is closure for some of you, and you all deserve to know what's going on with ATOS. I know this update will be a relief for some of you because now, there's no more guessing. The dreaded 'indefinite' has been typed and sealed in digital ink (dramatic, I know).

I'm going to leave it here because I don't know how to end this post. I'll be around, lurking in possible (short) one-shots and slowly chipping away at ATOS. So, until then, rest, rehabilitation, and copious amounts of books and music to listen to.

Hiatus

So, I've thought long and hard about this for the past week but I need to take a small Hiatus. It's not a long one, just until Dec. 26nd

I have 4 major tests leading up to that date and finals as well. I need to fully focus on that and study hard to pass my test and finals. I do have requests scheduled and anything that is posted will be from that not me. I'll be logging off, pop in once in a while, bu in the mean time I'll be MIA until Finals are done.

But, also The Last Part of Our Boy Series has been written but not posted until Dec. 25th as a Christmas gift. This story has been life since summer and I'm going to miss writing the main parts of this story.

I wish everyone the best and going to miss you all. I love you all so much and can't wait to see you Christmas/Yule

MASSIVE ANNOUNCEMENT REGARDING THIS BLOG!!

First of all, I want to thank you all for sticking around for Anti-Kawaii Daily and being a part of it's history. I truly did not expect anyone to like this blog as much as you did. But recently I have been very busy with college work and my mental health has been absolutely terrible. In addition I've unfortunately began to lose the passion I once had for maintaining this blog, perhaps due to a combination of burnout and the like.

So I am afraid I might have to announce an indefinite hiatus because of these things. I might post a thing or two on my other blog @acidphosphorusofficial (where I usually post moodboards but I might post art there once in a blue moon) but I feel like other than that, I might be less active here than I used to. For this reason requests will be closed. Hopefully you people will understand.

Hey y'all! So I know I made a post but now I'm making a pinned post! I am currently taking a break from ALL social media! I think it will be good for me, plus I'm moving into my new house in a week! So packing is taking up a lot of time! I am still writing and I plan to come back with plenty of material to keep y'all entertained! kicking this year off with a hiatus so i can get and recover from top surgery ✂-----! commissions will be CLOSED likely until March - although I might be drawing earlier than that, I want to keep pressure off myself. In the mean time I will be queuing and posting art from my friends and peers, so keep your eyes peeled!

And while I have your attention, i would like to direct it to the continued struggle in Palestine, and that millions of people in Gaza and the West Bank and '48 and the diaspora need your continued solidarity. the collective pressure - boycotting, calling reps, education, and direct action - are having compounding effects. So, keep the pressure on! It's also important to keep other global and local struggles in mind, like those in Congo, Sudan, and your home town, as we are all interconnected.

Howdy! Scary Mod here!

First; I want to take this opportunity to thank all you followers for your engagement with Jonny’s blog. It warms my heart to see how much people are invested in the minutiae of his life and his goings on, and how much y’all treat him like his own person. That was the goal of making this blog in the first place, and it never could have succeeded without all of you, so thank you~

Second, I think it’s about time I announce a six-week hiatus, until about mid-July.

The reason for this is a happy one! I recently sold my current apartment and will be moving into a much larger house with my S/O a few states away! However, as moving day closes in, I need to focus on packing and rounding up the cats and closing and getting all my ducks in a row, which puts a mild damper on the creative process. Plus, my furniture isn’t going to arrive until around 7/17.

You probably noticed that my replies have slowed down and there hasn’t been a ton of new art in a while - this has been several months in the making, and I have just reached the final stretch.

I appreciate all your patience, and your dedication through the years I’ve been writing this blog! Jonny’s story isn’t over and I’m not done writing him, and I encourage you to please ask questions while I’m away, nothing would please me more than to check back in once my furniture’s all arrived and I’m settled in at my new home to find a bunch of questions to draw for, but for the next few weeks at least;

Hey guys, just letting you know I need to refocus some things not related to RP. I have a lot of end of the year things I need to do for my job. Hey guys I’m so sorry I haven’t posted in….quite awhile. I know I said a new series was coming soon. I’ve been battling some real intense depression which I’ve done before and always been able to write, but somehow I just can’t bring myself to do anything I like anymore.

Don’t worry about me. Im talking to my therapist and getting help from my doctor. The boy is being more supportive and helpful than I could have ever imagined or dreamed and shockingly so is my mother.

But until I can get all this chemical horomone shit under control I’m officially putting the hanniiesuckle account on hiatus. It’s not fair to you guys especially those who were really excited about the new Seungmin/Jisung series : Cue Lights, or any of my regular readers or new readers.

I may come back occasionally to read or check up on tags but I probably won’t be responding to a lot of dms or asks. Mooties who have my number can contact me there and mooties who don’t are welcome to ask bc I love y’all.

Taking another hiatus for the next month! I've got too many things in my life going on right now and I need to put some projects to the side if I'm to get through them all. I'll still be reblogging things like last year's Thanksgiving and Hanukkah posts since those holidays happen before I come back from hiatus, but I won't be posting anything new until then. I just wanna make sure I give myself enough time to handle what I've got going on so I can bring more energy back to the blog.

I’m putting this blog on hiatus until I figure out a way to deal with writing in the stranger things fandom. While I’ve never been targeted myself and have managed to stay personally uninvolved when it came to any community drama, I have had parts of it effect my friends and I’m sick of that. Wayne is here to be the gruff uncle characters can rely on, and I can’t write that when I don’t even feel like interacting with the world he comes from sometimes. So I apologize for this seemingly coming out of nowhere, but I need some time to think and concentrate on my other (non ST) characters for a while.
