The Terror (2018). Explicit. 12 352 words.  Tozer becomes a willing witness to Hickey's seduction of Hodgson, and is seduced himself in the process.

When you slip on the ice, there is a moment before your brain registers what is happening. Your foot slides and loses its hold, your body dips to an unsustainable angle, your knees begin to buckle - but you have yet to put it together, have not yet figured out what you’re headed for. In the short second before the pain of hitting the ground and loosing your footing, all you feel is a lack of understanding and an alarming surge in your guts.

It’s like that now. Tozer sits watching Hickey paw Lieutenant Hodgson and feels the ground slip away and away.

Hickey tilts his head.

“May I see to you?” he says to Hodgson, very gently.

“I-” The look on Hodgson’s flushed face is stricken. “I don’t know what you mean.”

“Yeah, you do.”

Hodgson stammers something that Tozer doesn’t hear, because Hickey turns unexpectedly towards him. The smile he used on Hodgson is gone, his eyes are wry and knowing. He looks to Tozer like they’re sharing a joke, like they’re both in on a secret.

I participated in the Hickey/Tozer exchange recently, and this is the fic I wrote for it! A seduction in two phases: first Hickey and Tozer seducing Hodgson, and then Hickey seducing Tozer alone. Mainly it’s a lot of fucking.

I've been trying to write a smart post about Tozer&Irving and Tozer vs Irving in relation to Hickey, which is the point they diverge on. ecause they're strangely set up in parallel; Tozer has been given uptight Irving's glass, which eyes emoji, and they both occupy a strange position of authority but also being underneath authority as a Marine Sergeant and Third Lieutenant, and of course their seduction, both failed or successful, by Hickey. He reads them both and plays them both because they are so similar yet so different.

Their loyalty to their men who def take the loss of their leadership as a hell of a blow, and of course the sense that Irving is the only Terror Lieut Tozer respects​ let alone seems to like... their strange background but clearly comfortable chat in ep 3, but then Tozer again is fairly okay with his murder.

And then of course, looping back to how they were both want out of their skin in the horror of the Hickey lashing they were forced to watch and more or less participate in but how they both took different trajectories from it. The way Hickey's touch, ultimately, destroys them both, and yet they both take a strange comfort in it....

Dave K on what would've happened if they had been rescued ep8/9:

Hickey and Tozer: If they hadn't been executed and had ended up in the same prison, for a couple years they would've avoided each other until realizing they'd be most fitting for each others "protection".

Dave says he's unsure on wether they would've become lovers, because he "doesnt know about Tozer, but it's prison". Dave then tries to move on, but interrupts himself because he wants to decide and ultimately says that Tozer "might've gotten right to the point of turning to Hickey for other kinds of comfort" and then killed him.

Hickey would have thought he'd let himself be killed (I'm assuming to overplay that he did not expect it, but didn't want to admit it to himself? If I read Dave's mannerisms right) "as to go and explore what comes next".
