Can I just say, the fact that the high lords don’t all wear generic crowns in their colors, but it actually ties to their courts makes me happy?and they probably all have quite a few different themed ones?

Tamlin with his burnished gold laurel leaf crown at the wedding that was a courtly version of the calanmai crown he probably dawns each year? And his tithe crown is so suited to more strict moments with its representation of wealth and stability?

Tarquin with his silver cresting waves and blue gemstones for a casual night out on the town? As asymmetrically stunning as the very waters he connects his court to, the blues of the stones glinting with white and green and the depths of the very ocean hidden by the brash, crashing beauty created by the surface?

Helions spiked gold crown as vicious and pointed yet beautiful and picturesque as the suns rays? As warm in color as his skin yet simple and statement making in it power just like helion himself- not needing much adornment to radiate the strength, beauty and deadly power and wicked intelligence he holds?

Rhys has a raven feather crown which makes me wonder if previous highlords of night weren’t just serpentile like the creatures of the hewn city but dark winged and raven featured in some way? (And Feyres crown - complimentary to Rhys isn’t just a newly made item, it existed in tandem with his for previous ladies of night I’m assuming so it ties to the court that way as well?)

Autumn court with its mixture of Medieval English and conqueror era Spanish style in my head? With traditional red and green stones highlighted the most and silver and gold alike, crosses and points to their headwear? Very formal and structured, not just to denote their position, but to reinforce tradition, wealth, class structures, very inline with what I’d assume of the autumn courts viciousness mentioned in the books? Beautiful but vicious.

Winter court with near white shining metals, carved glass and crystal bases for ice diamonds; blue, gray, & frosty fogged stones? Dark blues and wicked gnarled features representing barren branches and shards of ice????

Dawn court with its sweeping elegance and love of beautiful embellishments and pension for color? The people are noted to be largely from Xian as noted by SJM and I always imagine dawn court to be a beautiful mix of Indian and Chinese culture, and the jewelry reflects it, beautifully Intrically carved warm toned metals that depict stories or symbolism entertwined with the culture? Stoned used abundantly yet they’re never garish? They only enhance and bring out the beauty of the crowns and reflect the cultures within the court itself?

(Like I’d love to dive deeper into it and maybe make or paint the crowns one day but that’s a different story)

Rating all the characters that i can remember. And know the names of.

A/N: In my defence, it’s my birthday and I am lazy to write anything but I felt like being a judge person for once just to be petty thus this came out. Also I categorised Lucien under Night Court so yeah :^

Night Court:

Rhysand (8/10) — Just over all a good person but he has a couple downfalls and stuff I don’t like about him.

Cassian (7/10) — Nesta. Just how he treated Nesta. Just no.

Azriel (9/10) — I am very very very very very aware that I am biased. But the one point was because he likes Elain and I’m really praying they don’t end up together.

Feyre (8.5/10) — Call me picky but I think her sisters deserved more credit and I like her independence but just not my favouroitre character.

Mor (10/10) — Like she can hold a grudge but she is a queen. A little toxic though but see and therapist and we’ll be fine haha.

Nesta (10/10) — I don’t need a reason.

Elain (6/10) — Zero character that we can really see like i would like to know more but also yeah. I’m biased I know.

Amren (9.5/10) — the .5 is because she is scary like help me.

Lucien (10/10) — Good character, overall okay arc and sweet personality

Autumn Court:

Beron (-1000000000/10) — He’s dead to me.

Lady of Autumn (10/10) — I respect anyone who can raise her children while being abused. Also she’s a queen. No arguments I will die on this hill.

Eris (10000/10) — I am aware that I am biased. Shut up.

Five brothers (0/10) — I don’t know them that well. But they acted like assholes during the time I did know them.

Spring Court:

Tamlin (3/10) — I have faith that he’ll change. But for now he’s an asshole so 3.

Winter Court:

Kallias (8/10) — Hot wife. Good personality. Protective of his fam. Likes children.

Vivian (10/10) — She’s hot. *shrugs*

Summer Court:

Tarquin (8/10) — I can’t complain. but I don’t like him that much.

Every one else in that court is hot.

Day Court:

Helion (9/10) — Total dilf. I think it’s just my daddy issues.

Dawn Court:

Thesan (6/10) — decent personality. Practical, straight forward. Not my type but he’s not bad.

- i imagine thesan to be a very compassionate and patient individual - he's more of a soft spoken man, but he's far from a push over - he handles social settings with exceptional grace - to the other courts, he'd be known for his neutrality and reliability-- he doesn't put up a threatening front the way the other solar high lords do - to the members of his court, he's a warm and gracious man with a smile that radiates security - to his loved ones, he doesn't shy away from expressing his opinions, concerns, or affections - he's very good at communicating with and understanding others - however, he often finds himself wanting to escape - he can be a little bit of an idealist, and craves a quiet world - he can be easily overstimulated and grow irritated-- high lord meetings always give him a headache - his fury is usually marked by silence and an expression that bares his distain, but if anyone can draw a string of curses out of thesan its rhysand and helion

【𝒜/𝒩】: This is a work in progress that I started months back and just came back and looked at. I’m bored and wanna post something 🤷 lmao. In this one of my ocs is introduced and you get to see a bit of her personality. I’m hoping I’ll do more with this but I won’t push. Writing is hard and my job works my ass 🙂🥲. Also sorry about my grammar that shits hard too🤧🍷.

“Well, well if it isn’t the infamous shadowsinger of the Night Court~.”

The shadowsinger wasn’t expecting a voice to startle him the moment he landed on Dawn Court soil, his large body swinging to look behind himself and there stands a short faerie woman with dark ebony, plum tinted skin with light patches all over her body. The two things that catch Azriel’s attention is her pretty, fuchsia colored hair, and then his hazel eyes are drawn to her feet.

They’re large and deadly and match the color of her hair with large ivory claws idly tapping and lightly scraping the warm, smooth stone ground. The woman is a bit plump and curvy and dressed in a rose petal red shawl-like garment with gold threading that hangs off her left shoulder and gold colored cloth plants. The Illyrian warrior caught a glimpse of a tail swaying eagerly behind her and tried to find her eyes but found that he couldn’t with her butterfly locs in the way.

The woman has a mischievous smile on her face, full lips shiny with gloss. “I would ask why you’re the only one here, but I already know why, and I assure you that nothing is going to happen to you or your family.”

Azriel remains quiet, body still stiff as a board while his shadows swarm around him, nearly shielding his face from the short fae woman as he contacts his family.

She only continues to smile, it’s all too knowing and it slightly aggravates him.

“Are you the Emissary…?” he finally says, his voice quiet and smooth like velvet.

“Indeed, I am,” she replies with a small grin splitting her face, showing off her pearly white teeth, her canines being almost like fangs. “Also, it’s quite rude to spy in my home when Dawn hasn’t done a thing to you, you know?”

“My apologies… It's just precaution is all.”

“Right, of course~!,” she replies, hands resting on her wide hips.

The brown skinned man knew she didn’t believe him and that’s fine. “They should be coming shortly.”

The moment the words escape him the rest of the inner circle appear behind him, and he steps out of his High Lord brother and High Lady’s way, moving to stand beside Morrigan.

The grin that’s on the woman’s face grew, it looking a bit unsettling. “If it isn’t the High Lord and…,” she catches a glimpse at the crown that rested on Feyre’s head and a giddy giggle leaves her, “and I’m assuming High Lady? Welcome to the land of Dawn,” she says with a playful bow. “To all of you.”

Rhysand gives the ebony woman a charming smile and so does Feyre, but the fuchsia fae woman can see the twinge of nervousness.

“Ah, yes, you’re Noo, correct? It’s nice to meet you.” Rhysand offers her his hand, and they shake and Feyre and Noo do the same thing.

“Feyre, very nice to meet you as well.”

“Yes, charmed to meet you all, but let me take you to where everyone is. Day and Winter are already here, and there’s plenty of snacks and refreshments in there for you,” Noo informs them, turning her back towards them and guiding them into the mountain palace.

The sight of it all never gets old to Noo. Dawn palace is magnificent and graceful, truly a neutral force. Feeling the warm ground on her feet had her relaxed and feeling toasty, and smelling the many roses and peonies they passed by made her smile. This is home.

“Hope you all don’t mind the workout!” she calls over her shoulder with amusement as they climb up the spiraling stairwell.

“It’s no trouble!” Rhysand replies before going back to his silent conversation with his lady.

Soon they’re inside passing many rooms that were filled with tons of silk pillows of various sizes and plush carpeting, the smell of incense filling the long hallway.

“It’s just up ahead,” she explained, gazing at the pretty wisteria that decorated the archway in the meeting area.

How Under the Mountain Looks

If anyone has a hard time picturing Amarantha's court Under the Mountain, I totally imagine it something like this.

The mountain was considered sacred before she tainted it and it was somewhere all 7 high lords would meet, I imagine the red stone carved out decadently and although I dont think the design itself looked exactly like this, this is the overall VIBE of it to me.

Whispers: Am I the only one though? Do y'all see it completely differently???
