I see you love Avengers Assemble, me too! I enjoyed it when I watched it on Disney+ last year and I felt it was overhated! While a couple things bothered me, like Bruce Banner seemed to perpetually be the Hulk and Falcon annoyed me until season 3! (He was a whiny teenager, I was like “Tony, go change his diaper, maybe it will quiet him down!”) I actually felt he should’ve been replaced by Sam Alexander as the “kid the Avengers babysit”…. Because he is a teen hero and a sweet baby boy! In fact, the Avengers think he’s a cute kid!

I am not just saying this because he’s my favorite teen hero! He just fits the bill as the cute kid and he’s not annoying! And he made The Punisher laugh, THAT’S IMPOSSIBLE.

Anyway, with that out of the way! It was a fun watch and I felt it had a great story! However, it got bad at season 5 because it felt like an entirely different show.

I also think season 4 is the best season overall because everyone is together and I loved the cameos from familiar faces like Moon Knight and Ironfist! And the Beyonder was cool too! I am aware he’s the big bad in Moongirl and while he’s fabulous in it, I still think AA’s Beyonder is the best because he’s what a big bad should be, menacing but charming.

It’s a hidden gem nobody knows sees!

oh absolutely avengers assemble is awesome! Obviously it's not perfect in every way but it's a really fun cartoon that's always fun to watch! You're right, someone like Nova DEFINITELY would have fit the "novice kid/teen/general newbie" bill better than Falcon. I do agree that the show completely changed after season 5 (never really got used to the new animation style tony doesn't even have a mouth half the time and it weirds me out) but overall it was a great show! I feel like they found a nice balance from season to season between an overarching story like the Beyonder or Ultron and the nice little slice of life episodes. They generally did well on the relationships between characters.

Ireena High School Host Club

The party has decided they like Ireena. The Dhampir is still not best pleased Vasili von Holtz is trying to get close to her but our session today was too short to get much development... we just toured Vallaki since one of our players was absent and I still haven’t finished mapping all of the nonsense happening in that friggin town.

However. The artificer pointed out that Ireena’s reverse harem situation maps pretty well onto Ouran High School Host Club.

They proceeded to match everyone up.

Ireena is obviously Haruhi, the lone girl. 

The blonde noble swashbuckler with his fancy clothes is obviously Tamaki.

The dhampir (day job: debt collector) is Kyoya.

The tiny halfling cleric bought a stuffed bear at Blinsky’s Toys. He must be Honey.

The goliath who has decided his purpose in life is to literally carry the cleric around like a backpack is Mori-Senpai.

Which leaves the dragonborn rogue and the kobold artificer as the twins. 

Vasili has somewhat invited himself as part of the party and is the only one who does not fit this mapping... appropriate since he is, well, Vasili von Holtz. The party has decided he’s a harmless himbo. 

At the end of the session, I sadly remarked, “Aww. I didn’t get to use any of my vampire dice.” 

Party: What, you didn’t roll Strahd on the random encounter table?

Me: Why would Strahd be interested in your tour of Vallaki?

maybe a slightly unpopular opinion but I love how this season of D20 is about the boring day to day of high school along with all the usual mystery and hijinks. I like how after the wacky chaos and Spring Break Vibes we have to see the characters actually balance all their high school responsibilities, and I love the downtime mechanics. I like how all the running gags from season 1 - D20's first season - are getting fleshed out and explored and made serious, like Fig attending barbarian classes and Porter not liking Gorgug. I like how on some level the party is just exhausted from spending all summer saving the world instead of doing dumb teenage things. I like how the structure of D20 means that we actually do play out the long-term consequences of some of the party's victories that would have been in the endgame of most campaigns (eg: Adaine killing her terrible father). I like how Kristen's story especially echoes this, with her being told that she has to get good at the less flashy stuff, not just the huge miracles. also I definitely think Jace, who was killed by Aguefort very early in the first season, killed Yolanda.

A is quiet, nonchalant, and prefers their isolation. After getting their heart broken by their high school sweetheart, A has swore off love and vowed to focus solely on their career. A has no room for love, and they make it clear.

Appearance: Olive, freckled skin. Atlas has shaggy brown hair that falls in front of their eyes in a wolf-cut with bleached white dyed pieces at the bottom. Athena's brown and white hair falls down her back with black, straight-cut blunt bangs. They usually wear all black and have a variety of piercings.

Callum/Calliope [f/m] - 1 of 3 roommates. Cal is the ultra nice, slightly uptight, easily flustered college professor who is currently dating their longtime partner...that everyone seems to hate. Cal seems very in love with them and is oblivious to their best friends' irritation, but is that all a ruse?

Appearance: Cal has golden blonde hair. Cal's hair is curly fluffy while Calliope's falls down in soft ringlets around her face. Pale skin and green eyes. C dresses down, wearing basic clothes like button-downs and plain dresses.

Levi/Lani [f/m] - 1 of 3 roommates. L is boisterous, arrogant, and the comedian of the group. L makes their money as an influencer and uses their abundance of free time to pick up all kinds of people. L doesn't believe anyone can get them to settle down, especially considering they've never been in love..nor believe it exists.

Note: you can only romance L by starting a purely physical relationship first.

Appearance: Russet brown skin and long black hair that falls down their back and tied in a messy bun. L usually wears a white, billowy button down tucked into black slacks with an abundance of rings.

Garrett/Gaia [f/m] - Your neighbor. G is friendly but distant, always looking down at their phone when they see you. They seem disinterested in the happenings of Apartment 502. You can't help but wonder more about them...and their young child.

Appearance: Brown skin and curly black hair. G usually has headphones on, and Garett's hair is cut into a curly undercut while Gaia's is primed in a slick bun. They're usually dressed in a pristine black turtle neck and matching black pants.

Rainn [f/m] - your perfect, financially-stable lawyer ex. You thought what you and Rainn had was special, until they abruptly dump you the same day you were set to move in. The worst part? They live in the same building.

Oddly enough, Rainn doesn't seem to be acting like someone who should be completely moved on...

Appearance: Rain either has a severe black bob or black slicked back hair and usually seen in a pantsuit or business-casual clothes. They have tan skin and bright blue eyes.

Mason/Mona [f/m]- your old academic rival...who is now your co-worker. What are the chances you two ended up in the same place? M seems to have a lot of fun making things harder for you at your new job, especially considering you guys are competing for the affection of your boss. Tch.

Appearance: Long or short dyed white hair and tan skin with bright brown eyes. (M's outfit is dependent on job of choice.)

if you have to pick one shakespeare play please let it be this one

Two idiots. Absolute morons. Neither of them like each other but get pranked so hard that they end up marrying. Also: Catherine Tate and David Tennant (of course). I love them. Any casting is brilliant, ALL the characters are fools.

A silly little play about a silly little group of people. Also it has enemies to lovers, some very extra people, and is a goldmine for good insults

if you watched this and didn't love Beatrice and Benedick I don't know what to say 

The original enemies to lovers, “god that I were a man I would eat his heart in the marketplace” goes harder than any line ever, it’s also really funny

It's a very funny play about two people who do not wish to fall on love(Benedick and Beatrice) but during the seven days before the wedding of Hero and Claudio, the rest of the characters decide to make Benedick and Beatrice fall in love. In the end, they do end up falling in love with eachother. 

Beatrice and Benedict are the blueprint for so many couples that came later

But he doesn’t even bother tracking the thought process back, because it just… feels right. It makes sense. It makes him excited, actually. To have something to sink his teeth into. Something to focus that fizzy, spinning thing in his brain towards, something he can funnel all this excess energy into. He can get into it, learn all the terms and the fancy moves, get the full scope of it under his grasp until he can win again and again and again. And it’s going to be awesome. It’s going to be fun.
