This weekend I am in the country side of Colorado taking part of some Peyote ceremonies. I have not had too much experience with this upper hemisphere plant medicine, but I’m certainly having a deep dive into it now. It’s interesting to me how much I need to move/dance(?) once these medicines open up mad channels of energy through me. A lot gets moved. Usually in my Aya ceremonies I’m in the dark so nobody can observe this trippy process, but these ceremonies work with fire/light, so I feel very exposed and even a bit vulnerable. But that is part of the process of letting go of what other’s might think of me (not that anyone here would ever judge me). These ceremonies are a lot longer than I’m used too, ending at sunrise and I’ll experience both moments of total ecstatic liberation, but also hours of deep physical pain, as the cactus needs to clean our negative energy I’ve collected in my last season. It’s a process of surrendering to my human discomfort so that I can upgrade my vibration beyond it.
