You call me out upon the waters
The great unknown where feet may fail
And there I find You in the mystery
In oceans deep my faith will stand
And I will call upon Your Name
And keep my eyes above the waves
When oceans rise
My soul will rest in Your embrace
For I am Yours and You are mine

LSS Sept 18-22
Time flies so fast, it's Monday again SMH. Another day of suffering as a corporate slave.
Anyways, it's another LSS Monday! Where I recap my favorite songs last week :))
#1 "All Eyes on You" - TAYA
youtube
I've been really trying hard to get back to my Christian faith, one step at a time. Temptations and sins are everywhere, but I'm really getting back into my devotionals and listening again to my favorite Christian hymns. My discovery last week was "All Eyes on You" by Taya. Her voice really makes me feel that God is always watching and guiding me, even though I've fallen a countless times.
#2 "Bejeweled" by Taylor Swift
youtube
I'm not necessarily a fan of T.S. but I've been listening to her songs since I was in high school lol. Anyways, I've just discovered "Bejeweled" last week and I'm instantly hooked. It's now my favorite song from the Midnights album. The lyrics are just perfection. Add to that her dreamy voice. The music video is also amazing. I just love this song lol

There are a lot of things that can bring us closer to God. One of them is repentance. That's the word that brings feelings of anxiety in many people. Why something that brings us closer to God should give us feelings of fear? In the Bible there it is written ”For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind” (2 Timothy 1:7).
Why do we feel fear and anxiety when we're praying, worshipping the Almighty and Merciful Lord, Jesus Christ our Savior and our Wonderful Guide Holy Spirit? The truth is that the enemy tries to weaken our relationship with God. The thief comes only to steel and kill and destroy (John 10:10). It tries to stop us from doing what he knows that will strengthen our relationship with God and help us become more like Jesus Christ.
The truth is that we shouldn't fear when we want to repent. In fact, we should be not happy about not wanting to repent. Firstly, what it means to repent? To repent means to change. We should turn away from our sinful nature and do our best to live holy. Yes, we will still make mistakes after repenting because we aren't perfect, but we should do our best to stop committing the same sins over and over again. We shouldn't do this out of fear of eternal punishment but because of the love that Jesus showed us.
He died for us on the cross. He could run away but He decided to die on the cross for you. He thought of you when He was suffering. He wanted to give you a chance to repent so you could go to Heaven after you die/after He comes again and not be published because of your sins. Thanks to a wonderful Love of Jesus, we can be cleaned. Our sins are washed under the blood of our Savior, are forgotten and forgiven by our Creator.
If you have problems with committing the same sins over and over again, draw closer to God, talk to Him more frequently and pray to Him more often so your relationship with Him and the influence the Holy Spirit has on your life becomes bigger. Ask Holy Spirit, our Precious Guide to help you, give you strength to fight the sin and ask Him to keep on reminding you of what Jesus said about repentance. You'll see that what seems impossible will become possible in the name of Jesus.
Here are some useful Scriptures about repentance:
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. (1 John 1:9)
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord. (Acts 3:19)
If my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and I will forgive their sin and will heal their land. (2 Chronicles 7:14)
For the Lord your God is gracious and compassionate. He will not turn his face from you if you return to him. (2 Chronicles 30:9)
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. (2 Peter 3:9)
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven has come near.” (Matthew 4:17)
Come near to God and he will come near to you. Wash your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded. (James 4:8)
But go and learn what this means: ‘I desire mercy, not sacrifice.’ For I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners. (Matthew 9:13)
I tell you that in the same way there will be more rejoicing in heaven over one sinner who repents than over ninety-nine righteous persons who do not need to repent. (Luke 15:7)
