Mediascape has released The N Main Shop-developed Touhou Project quasi-3D action RPG Touhou Shoujo: Tale of Beautiful Memories for PlayStation 4 via PlayStation Store for $29.99.

Touhou Shoujo: Tale of Beautiful Memories first launched for PC via Steam and DLsite on August 22, 2019, followed by Switch on September 29, 2022.

basically its like

rather than asking the question ‘why do donald and goofy not turn human’, i ask ‘why do characters not question the presence of sentient talking animals and treat it as normal’, which is actually a question that has some basis of an answer

firstly, donald is a duck, mickey is a mouse, and goofy is a dog but i think itd be fair to fit all of these sorts of characters into the overarching category of toons. they are all different animals, but of a unifying ‘race’

in the age of fairytales, all worlds were connected and you could travel between them seamlessly, which means there was a point where you could, say, cross between timeless river and the enchanted dominion for example. by that logic, it’s suffice to say that almost every world could feasibly have toons living there as descendants from that era or that the folklore of the world could normalize it based on the stories of that time (ie, having a well loved story about a hero who hapened to be a toon). traces of them, historically, could be found enough for it to not be entirely implausible 

so combining these two trails of thought, i come to the conclusion that, as an example, scrooge mcduck can exist in traverse town and later twilight town without anyone questioning it because the existence of the toon race is something that is inherent to this universe and wouldnt be considered out of place. cid has no reason to wonder why the duck triplets exist as sentient beings because in this world, it has some basis of normality 

by that train of thought, why disguise donald and goofy at all?

i chalk that up to more of them having to hide not the fact that they are toons, but that they are toons with significant roles and purposes. they are hiding their individual identities, and not the overall concept of what they are, so it’s more a question of when magic is necessary to remain inconspicuous

a toon in twilight town? average and normal. a toon dog underwater in atlantica? or the pride lands? toons in halloweentown or monstropolis who arent physically adapted for the culture there?

because, to me, i can see where it makes more sense that a toon that isn’t scary would be more out of place in monstropolis where the entire city is ingrained in that culture and they would immediately look to be an outsider, than for a toon to inherently be out of place among humans when that’s shown to be the case less times than it’s not

27. What makes them sad? Do they cry regularly? Do they cry openly or hide it? What are they like they are sad?

I’m gonna do Lianna for all of these but. off the top of my head, the only thing I can think of that’d make them cry would be if someone died that really didn’t need to die/wasn’t involved in whatever was going on. Other than that? They probably don’t cry at all. It’s a weird thing with them, they always manage to get wrapped up in everyone’s problems, even though they don’t want to, but if something goes wrong and someone gets hurt, it’s like they got attached to that person in a really short span of time.

33. What underwear do they wear? Boxers or briefs? Lacey? Comfy granny panties?

fhskfh I hadn’t thought about this one at all. I’m? Not entirely sure. It’s probably nothing fancy though, given how much they travel, though.

47. How do they act in a formal occasion? What do they think of black tie wear? Do they enjoy fancy parties and love to chit chat or loathe the whole event?

Lianna is not really a shining socialite if you know what I mean, and she’d only accept an invitation to be polite. In general, she hates the things and can’t wait for them to be over. Also, she wouldn’t be caught dead in a dress. Not that she owns one anyway.
