Tum Pukaar Lo | Khamoshi | Covered By Karthik Mohan
Tum Pukaar Lo is a wonderful song from the movie Khamoshi. The song has a melancholic vibe but its all about hope. A hope that wounds will heal and those strained relationships, those strained friendships will come back to how they used to be. The protagonist is saying that I hope against all odds that you will come back and we will be the way we used to be... Tumhaara Intezaar Hai.

Why is it always "I love you" and not
"Tu hi toh jannat meri (You are my heaven)
Tu hi mera junoon (My final tryst)
Tu hi to mannat meri (You are my prayer)
Tu hi rooh ka sukoon (My soul’s bliss)
Tu hi aakhiyon ki thandak (You are the calm that I seek)
Tu hi dil ki hai dastak (You are in every heart beat)
Aur kuch na janu mein (I know nothing else)
Bas itna hi janu (Now except)
Tujhme rab dikhta hai (I see my god in you)
Yaara main kya karun. (Oh beloved, I don’t know what to do)
Sajde sar jhukta hai (I can’t help but bow before you)
Yaara main kya karun (I don’t know what to do)"

O ri Chiraiya is a beautiful song written by Swanand Kirkire. The song talks about a difficult period in our past where we as a society did not realize the importance of a girl child. The song is a reflection into the dark past and a plea to save the girl child. I hope that we as a society have evolved and have gotten to a point where we can not only save the girl child but also empower her. Hope you enjoy my rendition of this wonderful song.

Heyy, hope you're better now after that Good Omens s02 ending, and if not, sending lots of long hugs - actually sending hugs either way 🫂 (I rewatched the season on this new year and cried yet again, plus yeahh, every post about the final fifteen hits right to the core ):).
Sorry if the question is weird but you mentioned in a recent post about listening to an old hindi song from a 1990s military movie which also reminded you of AziraCrow. Being a native hindi speaker, I was excitedly interested but couldn't guess the original song from the translated lyrics. So if possible, could you please tell which song it was? And if any other hindi songs you've heard that might remind you of the Ineffable Husbands. I remember, for more than a few months, almost all songs I listened to reminded me of them as well - Salamat, from the movie Sarbjit, is the one that's popping up in my head right now, soo if you're interested, definitely recommended!
Again, sending hugsss, and now that the third season is renewed, may we get closure soon! B'byeee!
Hello anon maggot thank you so much take all the hugs too. We're all dying together with brainrot, aren't we.
The Hindi song in question is Har Koi Chahtha Hai (Ek Mutthi Asaman), the title song of an old movie. Thank you for the song rec! I'm afraid I don't know many songs in Indian languages, and you've probably heard all of these, but Akhiyaan, Agar Tum Saath Ho, Tum Hi Ho, and Baarish remind me of our favourite ineffable idiots. I've linked them in case any maggots who haven't heard these want to.
(for non-Hindi speakers, the last one Baarish reminds me of them because baarish means rain, and Crowley's method for falling in love involving a rainstorm and getting two people wet and staring into each other's eyes lives rent free in my head)

listening to bollywood music always gets me thinking abt the desi pines au again... so here is some more information
- scary-oke happens except instead of taking over midnight they sing some cheesy bollywood song instead. thinking something like gallan goodiyaan or disco deewane. OH OR GIRLS LIKE TO SWING... (Also yes they do the hooksteps. i have spent an ungodly amount of time imagining them doing the hooksteps)
- stan is a huge movie buff btw. he doesn't talk much about it but he lovesss sappy bollywood movies and those shitty (affectionate) hindi tv serials... the duchess approved gets replaced with one of those. which i think is fair because they dramatize everything to the same degree lmao
- thinking also about voiceclaims for the stan twins. i imagine the star twins would sound the same because despite their cultural background, they were still brought up in cali and developed accents accordingly. the stan twins tho were raised in mumbai so. have to rethink how they sound because i cannot for the life of me imagine stan speaking hindi in his regular new jersey accent. (he would definitely still have some aspects of the NJ accent because filbrick is still a new jerseyite, but still)
- speaking of religion, caryn is hindu and raises the boys as such. not particularly devout or spiritual, being a fake psychic (and astrologer in this au) and all, but she teaches the boys about the mythology and the traditions. filbrick is also still jewish, and the family celebrates events from both religions. lucky bastards get hanukkah right after diwali /j. present day ford and stan are atheists, but still celebrate the festivals and whatnot for the hell of it
- i am aware that irl, in both judaism and hinduism there are Differing Opinions about interfaith marriage to this day; however this is fiction so i am choosing to imagine it's not that much of an issue. maybe people are just kinda less bigoted, or maybe they were and maybe caryn and filbrick honestly just don't give a fuck. idk. it's not a main focus point of my au so i am choosing not to dedicate Too much thought to it
- instead of "poindexter" which is primarily an american slang nickname, stan calls ford "chashmesh" which is a hindi nickname for someone who wears glasses. he still calls him this when both of them wear glasses in their old age because he's petty. it annoys ford even more every time he does it WHDJSNEJD
- he also still calls him "sixer" which is funny because despite cricket being such a popular sport in india, they both probs suck ass at cricket and have never hit a six(er) in their lives lmao
- once stan and ford reconcile they quickly realize they can talk absolute shit about people in hindi and nobody here will have a clue what they're talking about

bro what’s in the air - i was literally listening to enna solla pogirai this morning and that’s coming from someone who literally only listens to tamil/malayalam/hindi songs when her parents have the aux. which is also why the songs i know from those languages aren’t from the last decade lol and maybe it’s the nostalgia but they just hit different lol
ARR TUMBLR FANDOM RISE. Lol jk jk but like even you mentioned an ARR song and like atleast 75% of the songs mentioned are ARR and as a diehard Rahmaniac I'm loving it omg.
Okay, hate to sound old af but Indian songs don't hit the same anymore. I'm not saying there are no good songs at all, there absolutely are, but like, there was something about some years ago when there was some.. idk, magic to songs and its lost. The last decade hasn't been decading. Has everyone's brain been altered? Has covid made us yearn for the better times? Has the death of radio and music channels killed the vibe? I don't know what is going on but something isn't computing. It's a thing and nobody can convince me otherwise.

oh I have so many great Rohit x Virat headcanons!!! *Rubs hands in glee*
Rohit is literally the only guy in the world to not be intimidated by Virat's records and status, and vice versa. He's not afraid to speak his mind in front of Virat and put him in his place when he thinks he's wrong. Instead of finding it annoying, Virat finds it attractive.
Both of them are extremely competitive with each other. Rohit picks up an expensive gift for Vi once, Vi reciprocates by buying an even more pricey gift for Rohit. This progresses into a competition of who can buy the most expensive gift for the other; Sachin and Dhoni have to step in and warn the two against swindling away all their money.
They keep having cricket related competitions with each other, like who can hit the most/the highest sixes, who can take the most catches, etc. The winner can never be decided; each insists that they won and calls the other a cheater and sore loser and pulls faces at each other.
They keep bickering over every little thing. When they have a proper fight, they're both too proud to talk it out like reasonable adults. Then follows atleast a week of stony silences and pointed, passive-aggressive comments until the rest of the team get fed up and lock them in a room to force them to sort out their ridiculous issues.
Rohit legit can't keep his hands off Virat. He keeps pulling him into his lap, tossing him over his shoulder and carrying him bridal style. Touches, squeezes and groping at the most inopportune moments, like team meetings are common. Virat needs to always make sure he's well-stocked with concealer. KL and Jasprit are actually the official in-charges of making sure the babies in the team do not walk in on Rohit pushing Virat against a wall or desk and practically devouring him at any moment of the day.
Rohit doesn't mind doing the household chores, but Virat always manages to find fault with his work. Rohit eventually gets fed up and slams Virat against a wall and has his way with him to shut him up.
Every time Rohit messes up a chore, Virat finds a petty way to take revenge on him. Rohit once forgot to put the clothes in the washing machine. Virat retaliated by leaving Rohit's clothes out on the lines to soak next time it rained.
They ARE the mom and dad to the rest of the team. Virat is the anxious and protective mother hen; anyone messes with his babies, and he'll give them a sound earful. Rohit is more chill than him. Who is the lenient parent and who is the strict one depends on the baby (player) in question. For example: Shubman is Virat's favourite so he's pampered by Vi, and rarely scolded by him. So Rohit does most of the scolding to Shubman, and he seeks refuge from Rohit's rage with Virat. On the contrary, Ishan and Shreyas are Rohit's favourites, so he doesn't go so hard at them, and Virat has to step in to discipline them. Hardik and Chahal are the ones who get scolded by both Rohit and Virat, because the kind of shit they get up to is next-level. Rishabh is the lucky kid who's scolded by neither of them.
The media loves to interfere in their relationship; these two love to mislead the media with fake stories and laugh uproariously about it afterwards.
Rohit and Virat are the literal embodiments of the parents who need wine trope. They keep complaining about how they rarely have alone time after becoming parents (senior squad members). On some days, they ditch the rest of the kids and go on romantic, old-school dates. They go somewhere rustic, away from the attention. Rohit serenades Virat to old Hindi songs, they dance together in the rain, and they're just happy and content together.
Well these were an absolute delight 🥹 thank you so much for all the detail! I’m certainly going to prompt mark this for probably future ficspiration 🫶

That's How I Know Taylor Swift
It was the summer of 2009, I was in the 5th grade. My sister had come home for her vacation. Her friend came over to exchange home assignments and also transfer some new music collection to our PC. Those were the days of PCs and pendrives. I had this curiosity to sit by the PC when someone was working on it and observe carefully whatever was being done–the files transferred, the keyboard shortcuts used and the entire technological mechanism seemed enthralling to me since always. As her friend, whom I called Dada (Brother) was doing his work, I kept staring at the monitor and kept tracking all the new music folders that were being pasted on our PC. Dada asked, " Do you listen to Western music? I have some cool collection". My sister was least interested because she was a Hindustani Classical singer and listened to Hindi songs only. My eleven-year old mind was open to some novelty. I said "Transfer whatever new music you have". My sister was crazy about the Twilight movie which was a huge phenomenon back then. She read the novel in her hostel and became a fan of Edward Cullen a.k.a Robert Pattinson. But it was difficult to watch the movie without the subtitles, obviously.
Having exchanged their assignments which was to be submitted to their school after the vacation, Dada left – left me fascinated to explore the brand new music, the Western music!
I was also being trained in Hindustaani Classical music along with my sister but I was always highly intrigued by the west; never quite had any exposure to it....and this was my golden opportunity to unlock the treasure!
I sat down and began my treasure hunt. My sister got busy with her projects and I, opening every folder that was created on the PC on a lookout for the music files. And finally found a folder which contained songs by various Western artists whose names I had never even heard of. There was Akon, Enrique, Owl City, Elvis Presley, Bryan Adams and all these were so, so new to me. I began playing those songs one by one and was so deeply moved by their musicality. But I couldn't comprehend the lyrics. We had BSNL broadband back then which gave 1 GB of data for monthly usage. It was a huge thing, I must say. I Googled and discovered azlyrics.com and lo! My work was half done. I played those songs on Windows Media Player and read the lyrics from the Chrome browser. And that was my entry to the world of Western music.
Akon 's "I'm So Paid" was a regular on-loop on my Philips mp3 player. Also, listened to "Lonely" and other hits by Akon. And then, I grooved to Summer of '69, Blue Suede Shoes, I Want It That Way, Somebody's Me, and several other superhits by various Western artists of the time.
One day, I found a folder that had some songs by female artists. There was a song titled "Butterfly Fly Away" and "I Miss You" by Miley Cyrus. Well, I had no idea who she was but I played those songs anyway. These songs were comparatively easier to understand and sing along. So, reading the lyrics from the browser tab, I began singing along. And that's how I learnt singing Western song!
Now, I was greedy to explore more female artists from the Western world. And then I found a video folder. God I tell you, that was the hidden treasure unlocked!
I found the music videos of Taylor Swift!!!
There were videos of Crazier, White Horse, Teardrops on my Guitar, Love Story, You Belong With Me and a few other. I was so deeply fascinated and enthralled and moved and touched by her voice that I decided she's going to be the Inspiration to my Western singing....and there was no looking back.
To understand her music, I didn't need azlyrics.com because she was so fluent and easy on her diction and pronunciation that I quickly understood and caught up with her songs. The soft melody in her voice and the beauty in her lyricals were just incredible to me. I instantly fell in deep love and admiration for Taylor Swift.
Next up, I began Googling other songs by her– her albums , latest releases and also her photos for my desktop wallpaper! She was my obsession, my guide, my mentor, my friend and most of all, my Guru. She was and is with me through the best of times and the darkest of phases. She has been my constant.
She taught me to be Fearless and to Speak Now without being so conscious of the Reputation built in people's minds. She left a Blank Space in my heart which is only to be filled by her. She inspired me to survive through the darkest Midnights and make it up with any Bad Blood. She has my heart and soul, and I know it All too Well.
Fun fact: I performed her songs playing the guitar in school and college events. Crazier being the first one, followed by Safe and Sound, Red, and several more to go!
