So, I recently finished Gantz and Hellsing almost back-to-back.
Gantz was definitely more well written and had a more aesthetically pleasing art style. It was perfect in almost every single way.
Hellsing was rougher around the edges. Both in writing and art. But I think that suited the atmosphere perfectly. The plot revolved around a hectic supernatural war. Of course the circumstances will be rough and strange. After a while, it did drag a bit. But the ending was sweet and closed things up nicely. So I'm not complaining in any meaningful capacity.
I recommend both titles with every fiber of my being. However I'll slap a bunch of big ol' trigger warnings on both for various reasons I'd be almost too stupid to discuss on this platform.
I am now working my through Gigant and Monster! I'll update you guys then!
