I'm curious as to peoples idea for what he'd do for the next power hour so

[These all being popular ideas or ppl he's mentioned]

This was all just a ploy to get you to read my info dump theory on the concept of a Chonny Jash Power Hour loser HAHAHA

Im joking tho. Not about my CJPH theory, that is very much real but I'm not forcing you to read it lol

However if you're curious, my inane rambles are further down :}

[Long Rant Post Below]

Okay so I'm gonna start with the basic idea I got it from; that being Nerd. Nerd already foreshadowed the THDPH & the WWPH [Even down to the last song for each of them] Not only that, but he references the stuff hes done in the past as well with a break/pause inbetween.

[This is what I mean]

The first three being all stuff he already did. BDG with Pocket, Tally Hall with Vol.1 & then Cage by Tim Minchin being the start the power hours.

The next two being the power hours he would do after this song [Memento Mori & Charlie's Inferno-Will Wood & That Handsome Devil]. But those are the only songs he would reference in Nerd, leaving no more clues as to what the last one would be. The only thing left in it is the video game references & Stairway to Heaven in the ending. [Which oddly enough also fit the pattern in a way. StH being about dying and the afterlife like Memento Mori & Chonny's Inferno and the video game references being all covers he made on his old channel]

While the VG refs could be a hint at a Videogame or Toby Fox Power Hour, I think at most, if its a clue at all, hinting at the next thing he does is recovering old songs.

Next, a couple of his songs reference his past stuff. Fine, I'm Fine has a good amount of lines that vaguely refer back to songs from the before [heres a post that goes more into it that's pretty cool!!]. And more importantly Dear Machine references Pocket, Dream (Outro from Calamity) & wings of wax. Pocket being later used in Nerd & the mention of Icarus coming back in Art. Not only that, but the voice in the very end Thermodynamic Lawyer is the exact same [if not very close to] voice filter/effect he uses in Dear Machine. Even down to the British accent he does in it. [Tho it is fairly normal for a music artist to reference their older songs in their music so it could be nothing]

Speaking of Dear Machine tho, quick thing to add about it is that it shows he not against covering his own songs. While yea technically its just a different version of Ode of the Cog, DM,HtC in a way counts as a cover of OotC. Same goes for bargaining/compromise & The Ballad of Dr. Jekyll.

Another idea with a CJPH is that in the CJFS discord theres a "Question of the Day" Channel. Where, as the name says, a Mod or Helper will ask a CJ related question & everyone can give their idea/imput on it. For Day 100, as a special fun lil thing, they asked Chonny if he wanted to give a question for that day. His question being:

And yes he does say that he doesnt plan on doing anything like that in future [if he even were to do it]. I fully believe he wasn't lying there & honestly I never saw him redoing any song ever until I had the idea of a CJPH [aside from stuff like Spring and a Storm & Storm and a Spring obviously]. But this is the best idea I could ever see him doing that. Also that question was from early August so a fair amount of time has passed. Whether thats enough time to equal "at least in the near future at all" I have no clue, but it is a thought.

One of my last points [that I remember atm lol] is on how he would end the power hours. Cos like, while yea he does whatever he wants & doesn't rlly follow what anyone says or asks [which I 100% agree with & is completely valid btw], I'd imagine he'd still want to end the PHs with a bang. Which is why I originally didnt think the recent one would be Will Wood.

He's stated a couple of time that hes one of his favorite artist & he definitely knows that a huge chunk of his fan base listen to WW as well. So why not end with that? Why not end with one of the most requested artist people wanted him to cover? Why wouldn't he end with a power hour of the artist that was his #1 on his Spotify Wrapped? What else could he do after that? Well maybe he'd go with his #2 artist? WHICH IS JUST HIMSELF BBYYYY

So it's very likely he's had himself play multiple times in a row & had a "Chonny Jash Power Hour".

Of course theories are just theories so there's always the chance I'm wrong & just insane. And again he does whatever he wants whenever he wants so who knows what it'll be. I just think id be an interesting idea for him to do.

As for how a Chonny Jash Power Hour would look? Maybe each song being a cover of a song from a past album or single? I'd imagine one from the before. & Covered in Discontent [maybe Gothic Whore?]. Like remake Pocket since its been referenced so much, tho that's still just a BDG cover so who knows. the before. would be interesting just to see how his perspective has changed since he originally wrote those songs. Gothic Whore he already has 2 songs that have a story version & a him version so I can see him doing another.

I HIGHLY doubt he'd do anything related to Vol.1 as its his completely separate thing & he doesn't rlly wanna touch any song that's TH/HMS related until whenever he feels like starting Vol.2 [which is valid lol]. If anything I could maybe see like TWWAY, Special or maybe Greener? Or go a different route with the og I'm Gonna Win or like a more outta the box one with like Just a Friend [only cos be did a 20 second "cover" of it in Mucka Blucka]. Again, I do not see him touching anything Vol.1 related but still something to entertain ig? [4th TME cover; The Chonny Electric when/j]

Tho maybe he'd just remake songs that he he fully made [like the before. or Gothic Whore], since those are more of actual Chonny Jash songs rather than the others just being covers. Would be very cool to maybe see a remake of some of his Majora's Mask song tho [no this isn't me coping over HEAL not being on spotify shush]. Or maybe he'd do songs from his old stuff like Don't Take it Personally? [also not me coping over wanting that song on Spotify too]

Idk these are just my thoughts on the idea of a CJPH [or even a Can of Soup Power Hour/j]. Either way I am gonna say idc what he'd do, BDG or Streetlight Manifesto are my other guesses, but anything he makes is always rll good & fun so I'll be interested to see whatever it is.

A/N: I don’t know why some my personal ideas about what to write make austin a little… toxic? It could be me projecting to find something wrong with him lol. I want to write more about him but I am someone who normally stays away from reading/writing about real people myself. Anyway [insert disclaimer about me not knowing austin, this being fiction, and people needing to be respectful and understand boundaries when writing about real folks]. Also I was slightly inspired by the “when you’re 40, and I’m 50 we’ll be back together” scene from Elvis (2022).

timeline clear up: austin is 31, you’re 29 in 2022. You guys were together for around 9 years in 2020 (when he cheated). You had your son in 2016 (so he is 6 in 2022, he’s a cancer sun with a leo moon lol)

You keep going over how the conversation will go in your head. What he is going to say, and what you’re going to say in rebuttal. Maybe you shouldn’t even tell him about the date? The car ride over to Austin’s place is filled with thoughts being so loud you feel a headache coming on. The only thing competing with your loud thoughts is Mateo’s loud singing.

Well, at least you can say the private school music classes are paying off.

Once you get in the driveway. You for a moment, leaning your head against the steering wheel to take a moment to breathe. You and Austin have been coparenting for two years now, and the drop offs are still not easy.

“Mommyyyyyy, go in,” Mateo starts to whine.

You sigh and give him a smile in the review mirror before getting out. As you take him out of his booster seat, he whispers in your ear.

“Daddy said he’s gonna teach me guitar.”

You raise an eyebrow. Sometimes you resent it; how Austin gets to be the fun, artistic parent that connects with Mateo on that level. You don’t have an artistic or creative bone in your body, it’s the reason why you work in software development. Mateo is fascinated with what his dad does. Hell, you were fascinated too when Austin and you met.

“Sounds fun baby.”

You grab his bag and walk him up to the door. You watch as he happily bounces on his feet to the tune of the doorbell, waiting for Austin to come to the door. The door swings open; Austin’s attention instantly go down to Mateo, and he picks him up into a big hug. There is something special about watching them interact; two peas in a pod.

Austin and you share a less than graceful side hug. It’s more him putting his arm around you, and you trying not to be awkward about it.

“We need to talk,” he whispers in your ear. Well, that’s cryptic.

You and Austin often don’t have long unmediated conversations about things outside of Mateo because it always ends in someone getting their feelings getting hurt. It’s hard to swallow that there was a time where he was your best friend. The person you told everything to.

Despite the confusion, you followed him into the house towards the kitchen.

“Buddy, why don’t you go put your stuff away and we’ll call you down when mom is about to go.”

Mateo takes off to his room. There’s a beat of silence before Austin starts.

“So, how are you?” his smile is breezy, and his tone is light. Too light.

“I’m fine,” you reply slowly. Did you really need to come in for this? He could’ve texted.

“The funniest thing happened last week,” he says, leaning against the kitchen island. “Matty came up to me and was like ‘daddy, I have a secret’.”

Mateo is in this phase where he thinks everything is a secret. If he must use the restroom, it’s a secret. If he wants to wear blue instead of red, it’s a secret. He saw a lizard at recess. A secret.

“And he then he says, ‘mommy is doing something special on Saturday’,”

Your stomach drops into your ass. Not your baby being the person who rats you out. How did he even know? Oh god, do you talk that loud on the phone? This is not how you wanted this to come out. Then you remember, you’re an adult. Who cares what Austin thinks?

“Well, now that you mention it,” you try to sound as nonchalant as possible. “I do have a date tomorrow.”

The last first date you went on was with Austin… in 2011. You haven’t been “on the market” since your late teens. To say you’re nervous about the whole thing is putting it lightly. The last thing you need is Austin browbeating you about it.

“Now that I’ve mentioned it. You’re joking right?”

“I was going to tell you,” You quickly reply.

And you were… sometime soon. If it wasn’t today or tomorrow, it would’ve been sometime next week. He doesn’t have a right to be mad or to be giving you the look he is right now. As if he’s betrayed by the fact you would want to date. You should’ve been expecting this. Dr. Shula, your family therapist, said dating was going to be a tricky thing for you two to navigate.

You honestly thought he would be the first one to take the plunge. But maybe that’s your resentment talking.

“Are you doing this to punish me,” he huffs. “I say I want to make us work, and you go and do this.”

You always knew Austin regretted what he did, and that all he wants is for things to go back to how they were. It’s just something you’ve always shot down. Sometimes you wondered if he says it because that’s the “right” thing to say after you cheat.

“Because I got the hint when you didn’t come to any premieres.”

And there it is. He said he didn’t mind, but you knew better. The biggest moment in his career, and he was alone. A part of you did feel bad every time you declined. Or when you offered sending Matty there, and making it clear you wouldn’t join. But now having it thrown back in your face made your blood boil a bit.

Why would you want to go and pretend to be happy about a movie that basically ruined your relationship? Be around the person who helped him fuck it all up.

You were ready to be there for every premiere, talk to him about every interview, cheer him on about this role that meant so much to him. He’s the one that changed that.

“You really don’t get it do you?” you ask with a cynical chuckle; you can’t help but laugh. He’s never going to get it because despite the ups and downs you had over your relationship, you never broke his trust the way he broke yours.

“I thought… I thought things were turning around after I came back,” he says, sounding defeated.

Your shoulders drop and let out a sigh. He’s talking about when he was sick after filming. When you came and stayed with him. It was the first time the three of you were in that house together since early 2020.

“Austin, you know me better than that. If you need help, I’m not going to turn my back on you,” you try to sound sympathetic. You hadn’t seen Austin like that in long time. That low. “You’re the father of my child. You’re wellbeing matters to me.”

“So, that’s all it was. You 'taking care of the father of your child'.”

You can’t look him in eye for too long. He knows it’s more than that. You know it’s more than that. But you don’t know if you’re ready to say that again. Ready to put that much faith in him again.

“Look, I know this isn’t want you want,” you lean over and grab his hand. “But you need to let me do this.”

The next part is implied. Let you do this and then you can make up your mind. Maybe you’ll be ready to try again. Maybe it will be the risk you you need to take to get over him.

“You know you’re it for me right,” he squeezes your hand. “We’re gonna come back together after we figure this out.”

You feel tears welling up in your eyes. That’s the scary part; he might be it for you too, and there’s nothing you can do about it. You wipe your face, and try to pull yourself together before calling out Mateo’s name.

You say your goodbyes to him before sending him back to play then turn to Austin.

“Stay safe. If anything happens tomorrow, you call me immediately,” Austin’s voice reminds you of how he talks Mateo when he really needs him to listen.

“Ok dad,” you joke before surprising both yourself and him by pulling him into a hug. Despite how you two go at each other, you don’t enjoy seeing him upset. It doesn’t give you the satisfaction you hope it would.

“I love you.”

You squeeze your eyes shut. He loves you. You simply hum in response. Is love always enough?

More Thoughts On Lupin & Co. (This one is a little long)

lupin is super picky about his coffee and WILL get pissy if he doesn't get it how he likes it.

Fujiko made Lupin coffee for the first time along time ago after their first night together when they started their little situation-ship and Lupin has drank his coffee like that ever since.

Fujiko drinks energy drinks and Lupin is repulsed by them. Lupin caught her drinking one but she’ll deny it until the day she dies.

Jigen drinks his black because he can't handle too much caffeine. (for context, black coffee has a pretty low caffeine content for those who don't know.)

Lupin was a track and field kid. As seen in the events in Lupin Zero -sorta spoiler warning for those who haven't seen it-, his dad wanted him to live a normal life, so he convinced his son to do something normal kids do to get his energy out rather than stirring up shit. Lupin was reluctant but fell in love with the sport.

Jigen has really pretty hand writing but Lupin’s is shit, so Jigen writes all of Lupin’s cursive calling cards, but Lupin signs them. Sometimes Lupin just makes Jigen write things for him when he doesn't need it because he just really likes his hand writing.

Lupin likes drawing doodles on all of his notes, letters, etc. Without fail, Lupin's papers are littered w drawings of him, his friends, sometimes Zenigata, or whatever treasure they're after.

Zenigata doesn’t cook often, nor is he the best at it, but he really enjoys doing in nonetheless.

If Lupin doesn’t get his ‘beauty sleep’ he just turns into a full blown bumbling idiot, like I’m talking walking straight into door frames, tripping over his own feet, all of it

On top of that, if someone interrupts his sleep, he gets incredibly pissy and short tempered.

^^Jigen kept blasting opera over the radio once in the hideout, resulting in Lupin being woken from his nap. Without even a second thought, Lupin rolled over on the couch, shot the radio, and rolled back over.

Lupin has A LOT of scars, it comes with the territory of nearly dropping dead with every job he takes on, and he uses his skills as a disguise artist to cover them up because he feels self conscious about them.

I feel like he's a perfectionist so he would see these scars as reminders of how he could have done better or could have done more.

Fujiko is a big spoon and you can pry this thought from my cold dead hands.

Lupin has a little collection of those 3d puzzles, even rubix cubes, and he fiddles with them to keep his mind working during stretches of travel or when he can’t think

Both Goemon and Jigen have tried to use said puzzles out of curiosity but got frustrated when they couldn’t figure them out

Because Fujiko rides motorcycles a lot, I like to think she has a lot of automotive knowledge and has tinkered with the Fiat once or twice.

Lupin doesn’t let her near it often because she isn’t afraid to sabotage the car if she plans on double crossing them.

Lupin is great with kids, but is incredibly irresponsible. He isn’t a big fan of dealing with them but once he’s got attached to them, all hell breaks loose. He is the kind of person that if they asked for ice cream for dinner he would absolutely respond with “WHY DIDN’T I THINK OF THAT”

Goemon rarely sleeps on missions, in part because he always wants to be alert but also in part because he sleeps like a rock. Like, if a shoot out fight started right over him he would be snoring on cloud 9.

Goemon tried smoking like Lupin and Jigen once but he coughed everything up for a solid minute and hasn’t touched another cigarette since.

Lupin will borrow Jigen’s suits once in a while when he needs to tone down the color a bit but Jigen refuses to touch Lupin’s stuff with a ten foot pole no matter how much Lupin insists he would look good with a pop of color.

Jigen has perfect pitch, which is one of the main things that plays into his taste in music.

Lupin has trash taste in music, like absolutely horrid and he is banned from touching the radio in the car or the portable one on look outs.

The gang will regularly play cards together, and of course Lupin, Jigen, and Fujiko are cheating but Fujiko will actively sabotage Jigen and Lupin if Goemon starts losing really bad. Goemon knows how to cheat, he just refuses to.

Based off that one McDonalds commercial with Goemon ordering ahead on his phone, I like to think that when he discovered he could order food over his phone he went a little nuts ordering his favorite food from the local Japanese joint down the street. Like, I'm talking several hundred dollars worth in a day.

Lupin and Fujiko aren’t the best at apologizing when they get into a fight with someone, but I like to think that when they try and apologize, it's sorta just a thoughtful gift they’ll slide to the person they were arguing with.

Lupin has never once forgotten Pop’s birthday and leaves him a little something every year. It's never anything stolen because he knows Zenigata wouldn't accept it if it was.

Lupin’s fur coat from his green jacket days (the one he was wearing in TWCFM) was one of the first extravagant things he bought with money he stole.

Lupin writes everything down, he’s the kind of person when presented with a riddle or a puzzle, he needs to do a hand full of scribbles that only make sense to him and then he’s got it solved. More specifically, he writes in his grandfather’s journal he found in the movie Blood Seal of The Eternal Mermaid.

Lupin has a pretty high pain tolerance but when he so much as gets a small cold, he’ll moan and groan about it.

Yikes, this got long! But I still have so much more, what is a little guy like me to do! Guess ill just have to actually post more rather than just rebloging stuff at 2 am...

quick disclaimer. my main opinion forever is these motherfuckers would NOT listen to mother mother or tally hall or cavetown or jack stauber or AJR. sansa MIGHT. but not a single other character would. im sorry to break the news to you. there is a HUGE difference between 'song that reminds you of character' and 'song character would listen to' and im sorry but robb stark is NOT listening to the oh hellos no matter how much you think soldier poet king fits him. doing the starks + theon send asks if u want a specific character :^)

Waking Up - We the Kingdom: I've talked about this one before multiple times, the victorious declaration of returning from the Other Side ("I am alive in the land of the living") as well as something that captures my own healing after the depression years.

Summerland - half•alive: Captures the temporary elation of the warmer months in a way I think vibes well with how Lucy describes that season for the Portland Row trio, the way it's the cycle of it all that even makes it meaningful, and the hope of it all in the ups and downs! "Whatever ain't golden now will only come back around." I'm particularly attached to this for the unseen summer between TCS and TEG. (Also this has been stuck in my head for at least the last week.)

Hot Tea - half•alive: Freaking cute Locklyle vibes! Especially fitting considering all the waxing eloquent about the comforts of good hot tea in these books. "Hold you in my hands like hot tea, knowing I'm safe 'cause you want me," the adopted feral cat energy, it's perfect.

Tip Toes - half•alive: Okay well, I guess this answers the question of what artist is most represented in my L&Co playlist. 😆 (They're actually in second place for that distinction, it's just that I'm also new to their music and so least likely to skip.) This song is SO Lockwood coded, especially the way his desire to make his family name immortal can blur the lines into pride, even the misplaced sacrificial nature and the way he needs to frequently reassess his priorities as a leader. "I'm on my tiptoes, trying to see past my ego, reaching for something more than this feeling of being important, leaving my hear behind is bleeding, but still my pride is screaming, my future will listen to me, will I always know this divide, living most of this war inside, take the ghost of me with the tide to die and release my heart to come alive" - like!!!

Dancing in the Minefields - Andrew Peterson: Used very recently for fanfic title purposes (That's What the Promise Is For), this one just screams Locklyle, married young and facing life's challenges together and helping each other remember the light in the world when the dark closes in. Literally could quote the entire thing for them and struggled not to when I posted the fic, so to choose something I didn't put there, can we just all shriek about that third verse/bridge, especially "So there's nothing left to fear, so I'll walk with you in the shadowlands till the shadows disappear, 'cause he promised not to leave us and his promises are true, so in the face of all this chaos, baby I can dance with you," together?

still feel - half•alive: At any given time having exclamation point variety thoughts about these lyrics, especially as applied to Lockwood, or Kipps, or tbh just broadly across this series. "To realize the hand of life is reaching out, to rid me of my pride I call allegiance to myself… Oh I am not a slave, can't be contained, so pick me from the dark and pull me from the grave, 'cause I still feel alive, when it's hopeless, I start to notice, oh, and I still feel alive" I AM FEELING THINGS!!

Out of the Dark - Tritonal, EMME: I've had this one on repeat while driving a lot lately, it's a great sound, and also a very fun Locklyle song post-THB. Obviously "I know you're scared of diving deep, afraid of what's just out of reach… Sometimes the weight's too much to carry, when it gets heavy, feels like everything's falling apart, so unsteady, you'll be the light to get out of the dark" is delightful imagery for our beloved burdened ghostbusting duo, but also the dual meaning of "There's an end in sight, just hold on tight, you'll make it to the other side" is chef's kiss, they're going to make it to their hash-it-out conversation on the Other Side in TCS and also make it to the other side of the dark in terms of emotional context and setting. Obsessed.

Twenty Something - Nightly: I've already said a few times this is my best inspiration for writing introspective angst lately, used for a Fringe WIP in addition to being on repeat for the writing of Living With the Ghost of You, especially the Lockwood POV chapter. The lyrics are only right at a slant but the vibe is perfect.

Idk about Zayn but with Liam and Niall I feel like if they were closeted once during 1D, there’s imo no reason to not comeout - they are not in the same situation as HL when one’s S*ny’s golden goose and the other has bbg on his back to be protected from relationship rumours. And I guess none of them has H’s artificial semi-god of s*x image//womanizerTM where harries are yelling Daddy! on him and living in their wet dream fanfasies. Maybe I haven’t noticed it but feel like both fans for Niall and Liam are there for their music and show not for their het fantasies. I haven't really though about it much, but remember after 1D they were left to fend for themselves. Zayn had abandoned ship and did well, but Liam and Niall had to find a new label and contract. If they are queer and wanted out they would have had a much more difficult time getting signed and invested in by a label. They probably also didn’t know which of the 1D stans that would stan them as solo artists, buy their album and attend their tour. Both Liam and Niall are very straight passing and did hardly any queercoding while in the band. Would Liam and Niall's fans support them if they came out as queer right when lauching a solo career? Idk it's risky. With Louis it would have been fine, because he's got such a huge larrie fanbase and people who knows he's gay. But Niall and Liam coming out would have been a shock to all, even us larries. There would have to be a seeding period i think to get us used to the idea. (Maybe that's what Niall is doing now).

Both Liam and Niall have struggled with fan support and engagement their whole career. While their streams are better than Louis' the tickets sold to tour and the interest in them by the gp isn't great. So maybe they can come out but doesn’t feel like they want to chance it now that they're both performing better. Or they're still under the same restrictive image clause as H and L are back from the 1D days, because Sony wants a 1D reunion and wants to protect their future earnings. They are on a hiatus remember. We don’t know. Maybe they're straight.

If they're queer and want to finally show us and hint to us that they are, they need to step it up. Make it even more explicit. Give me queer lyrics and crank up the queercoding. And ditch the gfs if they're beards. I'm sick of heteronormativity too, but i need more convincing.

Andrew Lam Man Chung - "Sleepless Nights" lyricist

I am Andrew Lam, a lyricist. I still remember Gor-gor using his unique tone and voice to sing wooh-oh-o - it sounded really good, I really think I'll remember it for the rest of my life. Sleepless Nights remains avant-garde even today; after all, who could forget his unique voice and dancing? I think the first time I worked with him was on the song Liu Lang / Nomad. I used the pen name "Rock Lang" to write the lyrics because I was signed to Polygram at the time, so I had to do it anonymously. I already knew beforehand that the song was for Leslie. It was the theme song for the movie Nomad in which he co-starred with Cecilia Yip, and I liked the song a lot.

In the eighties, Leslie and Alan Tam were two superstars who dominated the whole music industry. But actually, everyone is different, so I tried my best to create songs which fit the specific artist's image. We didn't even discuss anything, they'd just sing whatever I wrote. Performers at the time weren't so fake, they respected writers a lot. In my mind, Leslie's image was tied to dancing. He had a really powerful stage presence and was really handsome, so I could write very colourful lyrics and write words which painted a scene. I feel like his songs had to be lively, maybe because he was good at dancing. His songs Blue Sorrow, Sayonara, Crossed-out Love... you could say that he really brought a lot to the music industry.

Of course, Leslie’s lyrics were also the most experimental for that time. At first, I wrote about a lot of ideas for Gor-gor. I really hoped that I could set myself apart from other lyricists, and a lot of those experiments were very successful. After a while, I wanted to create more fresh, avant-garde works, and thus came Sleepless Nights. It’s a really forward-thinking song, and I must confess that I haven’t been able to surpass it even now, at the time of my retirement. You can’t really find a song more avant-garde than Sleepless Nights because we pushed the limits of the Cantonese language in lyrics to its boundaries. Furthermore, there was a lot of room to play around with the arrangement of the song. It was really unconventional - thinking back on it, I remember Mrs Chan (Leslie’s manager) told me Leslie needed a song to join the Tokyo Music Festival and hoped that I could write it. She also got the really famous Japanese songwriter Funayama Motoki to compose the song. At the time, there were very few local works which were arranged so well.

The song was written on a time crunch. The original lyrics in my draft here have way more stuff than the released version. I still remember vividly the producer saying, “Gor-gor singing the first two paragraphs was already more than enough, so I didn’t ask him to record the other two.”Gor-gor didn’t change the lyrics and just sang it like a professional, even though there were a few “wooh-oh-o”s because I was too lazy to figure out more lyrics. To be honest, he could have easily replaced it with something else but he chose to sing it anyway. Singing it with his tone and beautiful voice, it sounded amazing - I’m glad I didn’t just scribble down four random words. That’s what’s special about him. Other lyrics might not have left a lasting impression, but his “wooh-oh-o” will last in our memories forever.

Despite all this, I didn’t actually interact much with Leslie, nor was I an Alan Tam guy. I was on everyone’s good side.

“If I can work, why not work?” I was lucky enough to write for the biggest two stars of the time. But eventually, I stopped working with them and started releasing my own CDs.

 Naruto was bouncing around the locker room. Excited for the match against Sand Salamander. Even if they lost, their reputation would remain intact because of the long held rivalry they have together.

 And there was always a fight among the players.

 Suigetsu loved to bait Choji.

 Kiba loved to bicker with Kankuro.

 And he loved to flirt with Sasuke. They used to fight all the time in their earlier days. Then Sasuke changed, and wouldn't be easily led into a fight, so Naruto changed tactics.

 Sasuke became his pair.

 Whenever a fight happens, each player from a team had to stand next to the rival player, until the fighting stopped. At first he did it to annoy Sasuke, wrap his arm around his shoulder, and tell him stories about his pet frogs. Ask questions about Itachi who used to be Naruto's PR manager or if the rumor he heard about Sasuke was true. Anything to see a reaction until he picked Sasuke up and spun him around on his skates, making them both go viral.

 "Naruto!"

 "Yeah, what?" Looking around, he saw his teammates lined up at the door to head out to the ice.

 Jiraiya was waving his clipboard. "Come on lover boy."

 Naruto smiled brightly. "I'm coming."

 An announcer called out a penalty on Konohamaru, for starting a fight with Kimimaro.  

 Naruto took his chance, in his bright orange jersey duck, and dodged around the other players, making a beeline for Sasuke.

 "Sasuke~." He makes a grab for Sasuke's hand, the gloves making it hard to know how soft Sasuke's skin could truly be. Sasuke is the current ambassador for Jergens, he probably smells good too under all that sweat. "You look good. Even that black eye makes you look distinguished."

 He saw the viral video of Sasuke taking off his gloves, and fighting Deidara of the Akatsuki Red Nimbus.

 "I'll be sure to tell my makeup artist that after the pounds of makeup he had to put on me for a photoshoot." Sasuke responded. He wasn't looking at Naruto, his focus was on whatever the referees were saying.

 Naruto swung the hand in his hold. "Sasuke, look at me. We don't have much time to be romantic until we're pulled apart to be rivals again." He playfully whined.

 Sasuke shook his head. "If this is romance, no wonder you're one of the top ten bachelor's in Japan, Naruto. You need to do better. I'm trying, doing this shit alone is getting annoying."

 Naruto didn't expect a vulnerable moment. "I know people, I can set you up with. I'm friends with Sakura, you know she's a country music star. She's on tour, but I think she'd be interested."

 Sasuke shook his hand out of Naruto's hold. "God, you're stupid." Sasuke skated away, grabbing his co-captain Suigetsu on his way to the penalty box, to what Naruto assumes, is to lecture Kimimaro.

 Shikamaru skated over to Naruto. "Get back to the goal, Naruto."

 "Huh?" He didn't notice the remaining players begging to reset everything. Sasuke wasn't on the ice, he observed.

 "Sasuke is going to talk with the owner. We suspect Kimimaru broke one of Konohamaru's ribs."

 "I didn't even say his name, the fuck Shika." He wiped his nose on the back of his glove. "I'm heading over." He skated over to his post, ready to stop every puck those Salamanders think they can get past him.

 "Hn."

 They won!

 Konohamaru does have a broken rib along with a dislocated shoulder. From what he's heard, Kimimaro is unharmed physically.

 He sits on the bench of the locker room, all of his clothes are packed up. He's waiting on Shikamaru to finish his interview, they're rooming together at the hotel, and he wants to return quickly.

 He gets up, slinging his strap on his shoulder, he heads out into the hallway. He would go bother Jiraiya, but he already knows he's catching up with Orochimaru. Konoha was two hours from Sand.

 Maybe he should go talk with fans, he knows they linger around with hope of seeing them.

 When he gets to the higher deck, they spot him before he sees them.

 "Naruto Uzumaki! Co-captain of the Konoha Foxes! I love you!" A teenage girl with two men ran over to him. She has his jersey on. So he assumes she follows him on social media too. He gears up for any weird questions he may receive.

 "That's me! Did I impress you enough tonight?"

 The men wave at him, and Naruto bends at a knee to get more eye level with the teen.

 "You did! Is Konohamaru okay?"

 "Yep. He's used to taking hits. Rookies are stronger than old dogs like me." He chuckles.

 "No! Old dogs are strong!" She blushes. "I ah, I saw your photoshoot with Vogue and all those scars are so cool. So age is handsome Mr. Uzumaki." She whips out the magazine, she mentioned. "Can you please sign it?"

 His eyes flash to the other men. "Is this okay?"

 The one man frowns while the other shrugs, then nods.

 "What's this?" Naruto turns around, and hears Sasuke's voice.

 "Sasuke Uchiha!" She turns to one of the men. "Dad, it's your favorite player! Oh my God, you're right. He is a Twink." The Dad covers his daughter's mouth.

 Naruto can feel Dad's embarrassment.

 Naruto quickly signs the magazine, and one of the Dad says thanks quietly, before dragging their loudly excited daughter away.

 "So a twink?" He snickers. "The gear is always between us, so I don't know if what he assumes is true."

 Sasuke scoffs. "Jiraya is looking for you."

 "Why did he send you, instead of one of my teammates?"

 "He didn't. He was in Orochimaru's office, and as I was leaving, Orochimaru asked me to do this favor, and now I did, so goodbye, Naruto."

 "Wait, wait, wait." Naruto urges, when Sasuke turns away from him. "Give me your number."

 Sasuke tilts his head to the side. "You can't be serious."

 Was he?

 "I am?" He just knew he didn't want Sasuke to walk away from him. This is one of the rare times they are alone together without the media or teammates around. He'd like to befriend Sasuke. "Friend. Friendship, I want to extend to you."

 "God, you're stupid. Give me your number, before I lose more brain cells around you."

 Sasuke reaches his hand out.

 Naruto low fives it. "Give me your number first, I don't believe you'll contact me if I give you it first."

 Sasuke clenches his jaw. "How do people ship us together? I don't get it." Naruto doesn't think he's speaking to him, so he stays quiet. He doesn't know why people ship them either, but last year, they won "Best Kiss" at an People's Choice award, for a skating tackle gone wrong. So he has an inkling of how it started, but no reason to be number one. Especially, when his teammate Lee is married to a former Sand player, Gaara.

 After giving Naruto his number, he walks away.

 On the bus ride home, he sends Sasuke pictures of his frogs.

 A week later, Sasuke responds with a picture of his snake.

 True mortal enemies.  

 It makes his stomach flutter.

Personality: INTJ 3w4. I tend to act very arrogantand cocky as a defense mechanism. I don't like being vulnerable with people because it's not their job to worry about my problems. I come across very calm and collected and people rely on me for advice but can't let myself depend on anyone. I'm really analytical and am good at finding loopholes and working around problems under pressure. I'm not good with emotional support and can come across a little cold because of that. Under everything I think I'm very kind but feel like I burden people with my presence a lot of times. I have a hard time relaxing or enjoying things because I've been conditioned to always consider how it will look on mine and my family's reputation. I'm a perfectionist and hold myself to very high standards. I look intimidating but I'm actually just socially awkward and suck at small talk (because it seems kind of pointless to me). My love language is giving gifts but I'm not sure what my love language to receive is.

Hobbies/Likes: I love fashion and I've been a model since I was 14, I used to do pageants as a kid, I make my own music and music is probably the thing I love the most. It's really what I use to process the world so music is definitely the way to my heart. I can't play any instruments but I can sing and do digital music production. (I've always wanted to be in a rock band) I'm a good artist but I don't like doing it on a deadline (I took an AP art class back in high school and didn't draw for 2 years after it cuz I hated being forced to draw. It's like when something you like becomes a chore) I've gotten back into drawing recently tho. I've also been doing martial arts since I was 7 + fencing. I'm good at chess and poker and made money from playing/betting on games when I was younger. I also love reading.

Dislikes: Misogyny (when people especially men undermine my intelligence and experience and end up making a mistake I warned them about only for them to listen when another man repeats the same thing l've been saying since the beginning), big egos with nothing to back it up, people who can't keep up with me (I wouldn't want to be in a relationship with someone whose hand I have to hold all the time. They need to be on the same level/wavelength as me and not drag me down), being a coward and not standing up for your own beliefs/motives, people that are way too nice (whoever I end up with has to have a mean streak because it shows they are able to take action when needed), being self absorbed and not considering the consequences of your actions. People who have a moral superiority complex that think they're better than me for not wanting to break rules to get what they want. People who can't take responsibility for what they do (Everything I do is on purpose so even if it's a bad thing I'll admit to it because whatever happens as a result is no one's problem but my own). Although I will say there's sometimes an exception to these things depending on the person and situation.

draken: draken is the type not to force you into something you're uncomfortable with. i'd say between the two of you he'd be more vocal about his emotions so i think he will balance the you of out but at the same i don't think he's the type to crave/ask for attention or affection which is good bc from what i picked from what you said, sometimes you come across as cold. also, what's good about him is he views individuals through their strengths which is a good match for you bc from the things you told me i assumed that you wouldn't want to be treated as a soft person which a partner has to constantly look out for and that's how draken is. he trusts in the abilities of the people close to him loke how he trusts mikey and takemichi. physically, damn you both look hot together and i'm talking about (sorry to compare you both to dogs, i tried ok) model poodles walking down a runway. you both look untouchable and i would definitely use you both as a shield when someone comes up to me to pick a fight. overall, i do think you're a good match for draken if you want someone who can understand you without the burden of explaining all the time and if you want a partner who supports with whatever you pursue bc he trusts you.

Hi! Can I get a Monster Prom matchup, please?

I'm a transgender man who's queer. I don't really have a label for my sexuality yet so I pretty much go with anything.

I'm into heavy punk/rock music and I enjoy dressing alternative! (I like to drift between grunge and goth). I typically enjoy going to indie concerts (the smaller venue the better) and taking walks through my city. I like digital art though I have trouble sharing it with others. I also love video games! Horror, slice of life, indie rpgs, etc are all fun! I wouldn't mind playing co-op with someone. I'm a huge animal person too; when I was younger, I'd go out in the garden after it had just rain and try to catch critters. I specifically love snakes, cats, and dogs. Off topic but I love cryptids too!

I don't like spicy food. Bummer, I know. I just don't have that good of a tolerance. I don't tolerate people who get off to making fun of others for their fashion choices (unless it's offensive). It gives off petty middle schooler vibes y'know? I also don't like people who try to act like they have the upper hand in a friendship/relationship.

I'm usually a self-reserved person but I'm not afraid to speak up when I want to. I'm often respectful towards others and I have a tendency to compliment people when they're dressed nice or simply wearing something I know (like a band shirt). My love language is gift giving; I love to spoil my friends and they're usually my first thought when I'm out shopping. I would say physical touch is my love language too but I'm usually not the one to initiate it lol.

♡ ...Walks? Walks. In the CITY? Yeah no you're never going on another walk alone AGAIN. Constantly asks you when you're going out, and if he can tag along. Unless you have a schedule- then he's up and ready ten minutes early. It's his favorite thing to do with you! He'll point out anything funny/interesting or anything he thinks you'd like.

♡ Thinks you're super talented and will praise your art to no ends if you decide to show him a piece. You're better than Bob Ross, Picasso, and any other historical artist he can think of. As long as you're comfortable, he'll mention and brag about your amazing art skills to anyone who'll listen.

♡ Co-op video games? He may not be as good as you are, but he's surely trying his best. If you end up playing a game in which you fight each other, he'd probably accidently win. Just smashes the buttons and hopes it works tbh. Though, after figuring out the basics, he'd purposefully lose for you. Gets all excited when you win, "yeah, beat me up! go go go!"

♡ Do I even need to mention anything about you being an animal lover? No. I think this one explains itself quite well LOL. You two would probably have a pet snake, or a bug.

♡ Mostly does the speaking for you in public settings and ordering food and whatnot. Doesn't mind at all! He never pressures you to speak or do anything you're not comfortable with. Though he'll definitely hype you up and try to encourage you to break out of your shell more! (Mainly because he doesn't really understand self-reserved people).

♡ You're in luck! Buy Scott a present and he'll go insane with buying you gifts back and will shower you in kisses & "thank you's". Could be the smallest little thing or something you made for him yourself and he'd love it forever. Cherishes anything you give him no matter what. Even if it's a shirt that doesn't fit or an item he can't use.

♡ Don't worry about initiating physical touch, Scott has got it covered! Understands boundaries (if you have them) perfectly clear, but sometimes forgets, though he deeply apologizes for this and tries to make up for it any way he can. Adores hugs, kisses, cuddles, you name it. Anytime and any place, as long as you're okay with it.

♡ He's just a big goofball that loves & cherishes you no matter what, you could grow seven tongues and five eyes and he really wouldn't care. As long as you're the same, self-reserved, caring person you always are; his love for you won't ever change.

the thg series is filled with interesting characters who have captured our imaginations. do you have any headcanons about a character from the series who was not given a last name? (ex: cato, thom, portia, etc). could be from any of the four books. 😀 @anonymousinpanem

I am not sure if you mean any headcanons about these characters or specifically about their last names, but I am going to assume it's the former. I mean I don't have strong feelings about anyone's last name, which is a bit out of character for me since I have strong feelings about most things.

I've always thought that digging into Portia and Cinna's relationship would be really interesting. I guess the headcanon I've cultivated in the back of my mind about the two of them is that Cinna is kind of a longsuffering Brilliant Artist™ who has his secret political agenda and quiet anger buried in there somewhere underneath his suave but unassuming exterior. By contrast (or extension?) Portia I've thought of as a foil of sorts, someone much more expressive and in-your-face, though still caring in the way Cinna is. I like to think Portia brings the fun and flair to a lot of their ideas, adding elements of whimsy into Cinna's more serious creations (like the purple lipstick on Everlark's fiery parade costume, that seems like a Portia touch to me). I think she teases him, plays loud music at work, and invites him to all her parties (which he attends for a perfunctory 90 minutes before quietly disappearing and going home to watch whatever the Capitol equivalent of Law and Order is on his ludicrously expensive sofa). On a sad note, I think Portia is devastated but not entirely surprised when Cinna is killed, but I like to think she survives and keeps making beautiful things in his honour after the war is over.

I had literally never thought about Thom before writing my utterly ridiculous and indulgent hockey au oneshot bullshit nonsense THING a month or so ago, but I kind of like the idea of Thom being kind of like Gale's Madge. I mean, you know the "wait, have we been friends this whole time??" thing Katniss and Madge have, I like to think Gale and Thom also have. They probably work really well together, and in Thirteen they probably realise this to a greater extent than they ever did in the mines in Twelve. I like the idea of Thom being unexpectedly very smart, and smart in a way that complements Gale's own intelligence really well. Like where Gale sometimes gets hotheaded and loses sight of the bigger picture, Thom never does, and keeps his eye on the prize for both of them.

This is definitely all coming from only ever having conceived of Thom in an au where he's Gale's linemate and practically his other half, but I like the idea of them having that kind of dynamic. Or like, they would have a Lennon-McCartney, Jagger-Richards kind of thing going--sometimes they are so fed up with each other they never want to look at the other guys again, but they know that when they're together they're more than just the sum of their parts. So yeah, Thom follows Gale to D2, and they do a lot of good there together.

As for Cato... well, I don't want to say too much. I have so many ideas about this asshole but a lot of them are things that I'm in the process of slowly peeling back in the fic I'm writing, so I don't want to give it away! Without going into too much detail: I have had a lot of fun exploring what Cato's life would actually have looked like, and how he would have become the way he is. As someone trying to write a fic where he can be redeemed (at least a little bit), it has been interesting to consider how someone so young could be so bloodthirsty with such a blind faith in the authority figures in his life, and how that might be affected by watching so many kids he grew up training with die violently year after year in the Games they were supposed to win. All the Career Tributes probably face this to some extent, as they all have to keep believing they will be the one to come home victorious even as they watch their friends die, but I think what drew me to Cato is how with him all of this is dialed up. He's an interesting, extreme case study in the way the Career districts work and what kind of twisted things happen to produce characters like him. He makes you ask: if he really is everything Katniss sees him as--someone with no doubts, who hardly even seems to have any thoughts of his own--then how did he get that way? And that makes me ask what could have made the difference for him, letting him see he was just fodder for the insatiable machine of the Games?

I have some ideas. But I won't be giving them up that easily 😊

Thanks for the ask anon; this was a fun thing to think about, and in addition to giving me a chance to talk more about Cato (which I always love) it was really interesting to consider characters like Portia and Thom whom I don't think about much (but might have to think about more, who knows?)

They’re both remarkable performers who can put on a great show full of special effects or a great stripped down show. To that I would say watch Beyoncé perform her minimalist sets at Roseland and at Wynn Las Vegas. It can also be argued that Michael Jackson didn’t “need” as many gimmicks and screens to put on a great show.
