just a lil sumeru characters x kaveh's sibling!reader ramble! i've been thinking about this for a long time and i just NEED to dump all my thoughts out ajsskjhash
trigger & content warnings for non-graphic depictions of torture, brief discussions of death, Emotional Baggage(tm).
so i always imagined that kaveh's sibling!reader from this post would be lured in by grand sage azar and forced to be involved in dottore's insane ass mechanical god experiment. see, i imagined [name] being fated for an early death. i always imagined that they knew a little too much for a normal, vision-bearing (they have a geo vision in my brain hehe) human being.
to be straightforward, i imagine that they are in possession of the book "before sun and moon." it's a miracle that celestia hasn't struck them down yet. this is why dottore would seek their involvement.
of course, i also imagine they would downright refuse to use their wisdom for something so sacrilegious. maybe this is why celestia has kept them alive--they carefully gatekeep all of their wisdom so that forbidden knowledge such as theirs does not spread around. now... if dottore can't use their wisdom, their knowledge of the divine, their knowledge of things they shouldn't know, he supposes he can use them for other things. he's a resourceful man, you know? might as well see what this mysterious fluid he's been working on does to a human.
later on, after all this has passed, after they've recovered (physically at least), nahida asks them to tutor some kid named "hat guy." they're vahumana's most brilliant graduate, the akademiya's beloved grand historian. there's no-one more fitting for the job, she would say. hat guy? that's a weird name to be registered under, but whatever. they love and appreciate nahida as an archon but also as a friend, so of course they agree!
the wanderer is less than thrilled to find out he has to face another one of dottore's lab rats. it is a mocking, glaring reminder of the shitty person he once was.
emotional development ensues. the wanderer can hardly stand to look into their trusting eyes as they contentedly ramble about enkanomiya and how thankful they are that the divine priestess kokomi herself personally allowed them to go in and look around. he's not really listening.
'i let you be abused,' he thinks. 'why are you so kind to me?'
but he slowly comes to realize that it was never about him.
any lingering rage they might feel is not directed at him, or... at who he used to be. they aren't mad at the balladeer. to be fair, they don't even know who that is... nonetheless, none of that anger is directed at his past self.
(maybe one day he'll ask nahida to show them the truth. the guilt lingers within his being like a ferocious beast, tearing and clawing at his chest as he recalls the way they screamed.)
it's all directed at the doctor.
hm. he can relate.
anyway kaveh's sibling!reader and wanderer are besties who are making a revenge plan against dottore. they get collei involved too! <3

Queer people will claim they're immune to propaganda, then comment, "and historians say they were ~besties~" under any and every post about historical queer figures. Who we only know were queer BECAUSE HISTORIANS RECORDED IT!!!!
Yes you will run into homophobic people in academia. But when you parrot statements like that, you are buying into anti-academic rhetoric. Where do you think all our knowledge of historic queerness comes from? Documents don't exist in a vacuum, they are discovered, archived, maintained and researched by historians, by people who care deeply about the past, and who have spent decades of their lives analyzing the primary sources you claim they misinterpret. Please, if you are interested in a subject, check out some of the research on it. See if your school or local library has access to academic journals and archives. There is a wonderful, varied field of research on queer history, and you would benefit from looking into it. Do not buy into this scam.

The World Could Be Beautiful, a Tales of Symphonia ‘fic (Chapter 11)
Word Count: 62,282 Summary: After a chance encounter in Izoold, Raine and Regal both get a lot more than they bargained for. (A one-night stand 'fic with consequences.) Chapter Summary: Conversations with Lloyd and Colette. :) Pairing/Characters: Regal/Raine, Genis, George, Lloyd, Colette and assorted OCs as the story requires. Zelos shows up later. Warnings: Blanket warnings for the entire fic: pregnancy (and all that comes with it), discussion/mention of abortion, power imbalance, fantasy racism. Rating: Explicit. (No sex in this chapter.) Genre: Romance/angst/friendship vibes.
The title is the link to Ao3 for Chapter 11!
Notes (to be read after the chapter) under a cut:
Raine agrees to try to publish as a historian alongside Countess Adair because she thinks drawing attention to Sylvarant and its history (+ historical sites) will be a boon for Sylvarant in the longterm, and might engage with people's compassion and empathy. In this way she feels like it will change things for the better.
--
Colette's relationship to Raine is a bit odd, just like Raine's relationship to Lloyd. I do believe they are friends, but Raine has still spent five formative/important years of their lives being an authority figure. I think she wants to be their friend now, because she can't really still be considered their teacher, but it's just hard to get used to!
As far as Colette herself goes, I always felt like Raine sort of views her as a little sister/daughter figure, so...perhaps a niece? Colette was for sure Teacher's Pet, and I love the idea that her sweet personality and attentiveness made Raine's acclimation to teaching a lot easier than it might otherwise have been. Thanks, Colette!
I also imagine Colette would have loved to have siblings of her own (she'd be the CUTEST big sister), so the idea of being able to sort of consider Raine that appeals to her. AAAA.
--
There's this...really big societal pressure around birth and having babies that tells women they're supposed to love the baby before it's born, and they're supposed to just fall in love with it the moment they hold it.
It's not true. Lots of women do not feel this way about the baby when they're pregnant. Lots of women do not feel that way about the baby when they hold it for the first time.
PPD aside (because of course that's a whole other thing), it's perfectly normal for a new parent to not be like super attached and in love with their own baby. I think Raine is definitely the sort of person who likes the baby, and wants to care for it, but she needs to get to know them before she really loves them.
I think Colette is the sort to just be madly in love with the baby the moment she knows it's there, so I really liked the idea of Colette being a bit fascinated by Raine's logic there. It's not something she would think of herself, but it makes perfect sense!
--
My goal with Lloyd is to really just write him as this really earnest young married man. He loves his wife a lot and the world hasn't beaten the shit out of him because he just won't let it! He worries a lot about his old friends and in particular worries about Raine and Genis (not just because of what he saw of them in Flanoir but like, Genis is his bestie and Lloyd knows how the world works).
He just loves his friends so much and wants the best for all of them.
--
I know there was something else I wanted to say, but it fell out of my head. If I think about it, I'll add it here. In the meantime, thanks for reading! Feedback is, as always, welcome in any form. <3

Zoey and Cam
Cam and Gwen
Gwen and Mike
Mike and Duncan
Duncan and Heather
Heather and Jo
Jo and Cam
Please never be afraid to spam me, I love attention. Gonna put this under a read more so it doesn't get too long.
Cammike
What's better than this, just bros being homies :) The thing I love about the Friendship Finale Gang is that they're all socially inept in their own special ways. I love any combination of these losers. Anyway Mike and Cam had one of the cutest friendships on the show. One thing I noticed about them and love is how casually intimate they are. Like, Mike openly hugs and carries Cam, and I dunno, it's kinda rare to see. Love that for them.
Tumblr media
Trike
God put Trent and Mike in different seasons because we didn't deserve to see them as besties ❤ Seriously, it's a crime we never got to see them interact. I know they would've been homies, I know it. Also. Gwoey but let the dudes fuck too.
Tumblr media
Gwent
I'm going to strangle Action to death with my bare hands. We could've been so great. Screaming and crying and throwing up, Gwen would never #notmygwen etc etc
Tumblr media
They re also the first ship to get a bingo, neat!
Gwoey
Ngl they definitely had something queer going on. Probably because Gwen finally had a friend who didn't lowkey treat her like trash. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ Mike and Zoey are unicorn hunters and Gwen is their third, change my mind.
Tumblr media
Zocam
Friendship Finale Polycule just keeps winning. You know Cam was thinking it when Zoey was in full girlboss mode, absolutely manhandling him. He is a stronger man than I for not being absolutely bricked up on international tv. I don't have much to say, like every combination of these losers, they are wonderful. (Also they are a great backup if you're like me and ship Mike with like 50 fucking people)
Tumblr media
Gwameron
Guuhhhhhh Gwameron my beloved. I firmly believe they are canon and endgame. They were so close the entire season, kissed in the finale and all. Have you seen the way she looked at him??? It is sooo weird to me that other people don't see it. They are like perfect for each other. Historians will say that they were just friends.
Tumblr media
And hey, they also get a bingo! (Is it becoming obvious yet what I love most in my ships)
Gwike
(Peggle 2 voice) Gwent....... TWO!
Okay, but in all seriousness, I could absolutely see it. He would treat my girl RIGHT. Like she DESERVES. Especially great if you're like me and headcanon that the thing Gwen really wants in a partner is someone genuine to balance her cynicism.
Tumblr media
Mikecan
This is just pussyless Malcan. No but I kinda see the potential. I'll be honest, there IS something appealing about the idea of Duncan being lowkey nervous around sweet ball of sunshine Mike. He is literally just standing there. (Already gave my thoughts on Malcan here)
Tumblr media
Uhh... Duneather??
Okay. hear me out. hear me out. Just hear me out. I think they had more interesting potential than Duncney. To me, personally, Duncan is way way way more interesting when he's playing off someone worse than him, rather than when he's paired with someone more moral. Seeing him with characters like Alejandro or Mal will always interest me more that characters like Courtney or Zoey. But I digress, what I'm trying to say is that obviously he and Heather fit into the former category which makes them more interesting to me. The issue is that in most ways, Aleheather is just kinda, better. But Duncan and Heather have one thing Alejandro and Heather will never have: Duncan cheating with Heather would've made way more sense and been a way better storyline than he and Gwen. Also would've given Heather something to fuckin' DO in Action. Once again, Action drops the ball, and no one is surprised.
Tumblr media
Fuck man, now you've got me obsessed with this thought. I might have to write up a whole meta about this. (If anyone wants it, that is.)
Jeather (?)
Ahh yes, peek homoerotic rivalry, you love to see it. Gay as hell to argue with another girl. Why you arguing with her, to listen to her beautiful voice? 👀 We we're robbed not getting more of them interacting.
Tumblr media
Jocam
Something Something power dynamics, something something inherent eroticism. Kind of a girlboss/malewife dynamic, but make it evil. Not for me, but I see it.

oh gods oh no oh no how could you do this to me Intelligent Systems [A'lear part 3]
Tumblr media
(Spoilers up to Chapter 3 of Fire Emblem: Engage.)
A'lear has a weird dream in which everything is on fire and she's red (hair, eyes) and she's grinning menacingly at Lumera.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
It unsettles her, but Marth is there to comfort her. He's there because he was watching over her as she slept. She wore his ring to bed, which he doesn't mind, and after a thousand years together it would feel weird to be apart.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Historians would later say Marth and A'lear were besties.
But never mind that! The castle is under attack! Unknown enemies have breached the defences and now they're almost at the Ring Vault! Where the Rings are!
But... how!? Wasn't this castle supposed to be magically warded against the Corrupted? And isn't it a castle? Like, an extra secure, extra-defensible building?
To answer the first question, it's humans attacking. As for the other questions, let's have Framme explain:
Tumblr media
Queen Lumera is up ahead in the Ring Vault, fending off invaders. To reach her, A'lear and co. will need to fight their way across a long bridge-hallway full of soldiers.
Tumblr media
They begin making their way there, trying to avoid the attention of the pegasus knights hovering outside the breached walls. It doesn't work, and at the end of turn 1, a lot of enemy soldiers start swarming towards them.
Thankfully, the cavalry arrives in the form of the crown prince of Firene and his retainers.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Prince Alfred (lance cavalry) is a gentle soul who's obsessed with strength training and putting on muscle. Etie (archer) is a gym junkie who attaches weights to her teacups so that she's always training. Boucheron (axe infantry) is a kindly big fellow who is not obsessed with workouts, but is already kind of buff.
They're fun characters, and I expect they'll mostly be on the backbench by Chapter 10 (*). 🥲
We're introduced to a few more types of unit class here. Of the four we've already seen, Cavalry is self-explanatory, Mystical is for infantry mages and ignores enemy terrain bonuses, Qi Adept is for special supports and grants Chain Guard, and Dragon is for dragons (really cool OCs with two-tone hair, and Queen Lumera) (**).
Archers are Covert, a designation shared with snipers and thieves. Covert units get twice the usual Avoid bonus from trees/etc, which this map has exactly zero of.
Axe fighters, and most generic melee infantry, are considered Backup units. They have access to Chain Attacks — when an ally attacks an enemy in Boucheron/etc.'s weapon range (adjacent, in the case of Boucheron's iron axe), he'll throw in a free attack before his ally's first attack. A Chain Attack is always 80% hit, 0% crit, and chips away 10% of an enemy's HP (***). To be clear, this ignores everyone's stats except for enemy HP, making it an amazing tool for taking down enemies with stupidly high Def/Res.
(On the flipside, the existence of Chain Attacks means you can't just throw a tank or dodge tank into an oncoming mob and expect them to last the turn. This is an amazing addition to the Fire Emblem formula and I love it.)
The battle begins in earnest.
A'lear has Etie kill a few enemy fliers here and there, but only when the numbers need thinning.
Tumblr media
Framme punches a pegasus so hard its rider falls off, which is pretty sick.
And the whole team fights its way to the far end of the bridge, where the enemy leader tries to cut us off.
Tumblr media
The boss has Veteran+, which makes her unbreakable and negates effective damage against her. (For example, Marth's "effective against armour" rapier is no better than the Libération.) The majority of the bosses we encounter in Maddening mode will have this skill, which is... infuriating. Saddening, even.
Thankfully, it's possible for everyone to do a bit of damage against Abyme, chipping away at her health bar. And Clanne the mage can pummel her around, because like most armored units, she has next to no Resistance to magic.
Abyme is defeated, to be seen again.
Finally, to the Ring Vault! Where the Rings are!
(To recap: this vault accounts for nearly half the world's Emblem Ring supply. Whoever collects all twelve Emblems gains untold power.)
In a cutscene, A'lear encounters a creepy dark mage. How creepy, you ask? Well, they use magic to disappear... and reappear behind her!
Tumblr media Tumblr media
The creepy dark mage has little time for banter, and casts a spell at A'lear called Major Character Death.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
(actually the spell appears to be Obscurité, the same one Sombron was using in the Prologue. It's characterised by that purple cylindrical shape and the miasma-looking effect. Perhaps... could this attacker possibly work for Sombron, the only character known to covet the twelve Emblem Rings?)
Anyway, A'lear stands there in shock. Don't just stand there, A'lear! Move!
Tumblr media
Thankfully, Lumera is there to throw A'lear out of the way and...
Tumblr media
...oh, oh gods, that looks like it hurt. They're... they're not going to kill her, are they? Intelligent Systems wouldn't just kill off the protagonist's parent like that, would they?
Lumera then scares the dark mage off with some form of dragon laser attack. With that, the attack on the castle is over, but... at what cost?
A'lear cradles her wounded mother in her arms. In the scarce moments they have left, mother and daughter weep.
Tumblr media
The others arrive. (Framme tries using a staff on Lumera. It doesn't work, but now Youtubers can't add "just use Heal!" to their unimaginative "Top 58 Plot Holes" listicles.)
How could a Divine Dragon be unable to heal from this? In the scarce moments she has left, Lumera explains that she gave most of her lifeforce/power to A'lear, over the latter's thousand countless years of convalescence. "I hoped it would be enough to bring you back to me someday..."
Tumblr media
"...but now, it would seem that I am completely spent."
And so that's it.
In the scarce moments she has left, Lumera tells A'lear not to blame herself. This is an expression of her unending love for her, that there is nothing she wouldn't do for her beloved daughter.
And here: the Ring of the Holy Knight. May Emblem Sigurd protect A'lear.
Lumera says she had really hoped to give A'lear that red and blue ring at some point, but...
Oh, the Emblem Rings! Don't forget about those!
Lumera uses the scarce moments she has left to entreat her daughter to collect the remaining Emblem Rings. Do not allow Sombron (presumably) to collect the other rings. Collect the 12 Rings and seal Sombron away. Only... with the power of the Twelve Emblems...
Then, through choked sobs, Lumera says:
“When your scattered memories return to you, you must fight on with the utmost divinity. I believe in you, my child!”
And... that's it. Lumera is dying. There's nothing to be done.
In the scarce moments she has left, Lumera reassures A'lear that no matter how brief their reunion, her heart is so full. She's so happy and full of joy.
Lumera pinkie promises A'lear that she'll always be with her. The two of them. Always.
Her grip slackens. "Mother!", A'lear cries out, but there is no answer.
(Before today, Lumera was the last of the Divine Dragons. Now, that woeful title falls to A'lear.)
In the scarce— nah, I'm messing with you, there's only so much death scene Lumera's allowed to have. She's gone now.
----
(*) The problem is growths (and the lack of Greenhouse). I like Etie's personality, but besides her good Strength growth she has median-or-worse growths for every other stat. (IIRC the only thing stopping her from being the worst return-on-investment unit in the game is that Vander exists.) Boucheron has the opposite problem — his strength growth is lower than everyone but a few of the mages. His HP basically always increases on level up, making him pretty tanky, but if he can't occasionally hit hard then tanky alone doesn't cut it.
Alfred's growths are actually ok, with his default special class suggesting a "heavy cavalry" defensive build. The problem is that he doesn't start with enough Def to fit that role at first, and by the time he catches up on defence he's behind on all the offensive stats.
(**) Dragon classes—which really just means A'lear's personal classes—get bonuses when Engaged with any Emblem that range from "okay" to "pretty good". Of the non-DLC Emblems, only Corrin or Byleth are noticeably different when engaged with A'lear like this.
I will probably be moving A'lear to Paladin in the mid-game. She'll be weak to dragon-slaying weapons and anti-cav weapons, and I'll miss her combo with Corrin, but I'll take the trade-off.
(***) barring DLC emblems and one niche case I will mention when I get there

taylor's queer fans are fucking hilarious because it's like queer women being like "look at all the queer flagging! taylor's gay" and queer men being like "we should NEVER assume someone's sexuality, no matter how gay they are" and it's like besties, that's a lot of projection you're doing onto queer-coded women.
Like I know gay men don't want to be perceived as queer when they're in the closet but queer women have the literal opposite problem when it comes to heteronormativity (historians will say they're best friends is about lesbians being mistaken for besties/roomies/sisters when its VERY obvious they're gay). If a woman is dripping in gay shit, it's because she WANTS other queer women to know she's gay.
It's like that time I got into a twitter debate with a gay male swiftie who was like "ivy isn't queer-coded at all" and then a week later, it was featured on a gay sex scene and he was so fucking shocked like I wasn't telling him a week prior that Ivy was fucking gay.
TLDR: Gay male swifties need to stop projecting their fears onto queer women, because the cultures/history is different there.

I'm slowly gonna drag mom down into this hole of honkai men ((there isn't many to begin with anyway))
Kevin Kevin Kevin
Tumblr media
Leader of the Flame Chasers, Su's bestie from their school days, smiled a lot more during the old days now he's just stone cold, current timeline he's the leader of World Serpent, very stubborn boi
Tumblr media
I mean look at him. Look at them!! Just innocent school boys ;u; historians say they were the bestest of friends
.
.
Really, they were, Kevin is straight, pursued one girl his entire life, even had a kid together (through the science way, not the biological way) ((but that doesn't stop the shippers anyhow))
Bonus: Kevin's gf, Dr. Mei
Tumblr media
Not to be confused with Raiden Mei, no no
Dr. Mei is a scientist that works for MOTHs, very smart and very stubborn as well
Bonus shot ;u; look at how good they look AAAAAAAA
Tumblr media
Actually that's what I observed myself, I barely saw any men watching my brother play Honkai, and the only one I saw in game was the bbeg lmao
But omayghad they look so hot and precious *slamming fist on table* And they're besties! Straight too hhh I have a chance-//shot
Also holy crap, he's with Mei?! And Mei is not Mei, geezus I'm never gonna comprehend all these versions properly but that's so cool and cute! But man, seeing them next to each other makes it so weird, like that's supposedly Alhaitham's lookalike but he's all flowery, smiley, gentle!! *Head in hands*

So for a few years now there's been this meme of like "this person never married and only ever lived with this person of the same gender, they were obviously gay but historians will call them besties/roommates" and it's been annoying me for a while so I want to talk about it.
One thing I should clarify up front is: while queerphobic historians certainly exist, there’s also plenty of people in the field who will acknowledge historical figures as gay by our modern standards. I say this as a history major and someone who's at least relatively acquainted with the study. These conversations happen all the time.
But see, notice how I phrase that: gay by our modern standards. I specify that because one thing you'll very quickly pick up if you study history is thinking about things from the perspective of the time while trying not to apply modern-day perceptions too much. Because you can't really fully understand an event, conflict, or in this case a person, without first understanding the broader socioeconomic context, right? So it follows that applying more modern ideas of gender and sexuality could potentially lead to confusion.
Let me make an example of Alexander the Great to explain what I mean here: he was gay by our modern standards. He loved another man, and we even know which positions he preferred in bed. Cool. But would he have identified as gay? Our answer is no, because the ancient Greeks did not have the same ideas of sexuality that we do. From what I understand, they didn't really separate people into different labels based on who they're attracted to. So the question technically has multiple answers.
That's just one example but you get what I mean. Different cultures have different definitions of gender and sexuality, and those same cultures will inevitably change those definitions over time. And, hell, even within the context of certain societal expectations, people may find that they have their own distinct relationship with these concepts which differs from cultural norms.
And all of this isn’t to say that you shouldn’t apply modern-day thinking to history *at all*. Because that sort of thing is basically inevitable. Yeah, we’re always going to come from a modern perspective. We’re all biased, it came free with your consciousness. This is more just something to keep in mind.
So all that said, the question is just as much about how we would define this person if they were alive today, as it is how that person would’ve defined themselves. And, frankly, there aren’t always easy answers! Because sometimes we just don’t know enough about how that society may have thought about these things, or maybe we don’t have enough writings from the person themselves to figure something like that out. Maybe we’ll find the answer with more investigation, or maybe it’ll remain a mystery forever. History nerd rambling over.

one word butterfly go off queen xo suze
hey bestie!! here's a theogony-verse one cooked up just for uuuuu @thequibblah
"This is not real," Lily murmurs for the third time in as many minutes as she stares up at the gigantic, magnificent statue before her. It's Athena in spear-weilding glory, scaled to the size of a god—nearly fifty feet tall, or more. "This is not real."
James laughs, as he's done every other time she's said it. "I can promise you, it is."
"What—" quickly, decisively, Lily clamps her mouth shut to stop herself from speaking. She'd been about to ask, what happened to it, as though James might know that it doesn't survive into the Common Era, and that no historians have ever recorded its existence. He shoots her a quick, confused look, but does not ask about her stumbling.
She clears her throat. "…When was it built?"
He ponders this for a moment, his nose crinkling in thought. The midday sunlight is harsh on her skin but silken on his, and his eyes are some molten shade of gold. Helios, she thinks, inexplicably. The sun god before Apollo; the forebearer of all things bright and beautiful.
"I believe it was finished under Draco," he says, "though I cannot be sure. Record-keeping was…poor."
Lily hums. That's a diplomatic description of Draco's reign if she's ever heard one.
A breeze flutters between them and drags through the fabric of Lily's peplos, making her shiver. They're on the outskirts of the city, where the air is crisp and clean—it was an hour's walk from James's house to this part of Athens, where so many altars and statues lie. He'd described it as the old city, and when she laughed, he looked at her askance.
They spend a few minutes taking in the statue. James bows to Athena and chants a prayer Lily does not recognize: something rhythmic, something chilling. As he raises, the dagger at his hip cuts a sharp glint of sunlight into her eyes, and it is such a visceral reminder of his potential for danger and of how, in the modern day, so many pray for peace; but here he is, kneeling in deference to a goddess of war.
"Shall we return?" He asks her once he turns around.
"Yes, we shall. Thank you for taking me here." She turns toward him fully, and the smile she's been suppressing splashes across her face like the conclusion of a waterfall. A submission to the force of gravity; inevitable. "This is…" haunting, she wants to say, but doesn't. "This is beautiful."
James smiles. "I have always thought so. It is nice to know that the world will always have a reminder of the greatness of Hellas's beliefs."
A lance of guilt pierces Lily's stomach, as though somehow the fact that she knows that he's wrong implicates her in the unfortunate truth. As he looks back once in fondness at the towering Athena, some clawing part of Lily wants to tell him what happens to Greece in the coming years, to give him some leg-up on the crises soon to arrive.
If anyone deserves to know—to escape, maybe, or to prepare more dutifully—it's him.
"It is," she whispers, and she keeps her gaze on the uneven terrain in front of them, lest she slip. Her voice trembles a little too much. Everything she's saying feels like a lie, but the next words especially so: "It is nice to know."
He holds a hand out as they climb down some small cluster of stones.
"Careful," he advises.
She can't tell him. Of course she can't. If she did, she could unknowingly change some fundamental part of the world's timeline without meaning to. The smallest unplanned movement, the subtlest word or warning—it could trigger a butterfly effect that she would be powerless to stop or predict.
"James," she says, and he turns his head toward her, his expression calm and happy. His beauty exists in such measure that she's struck by it, by her proximity to it.
Nothing can come of her thoughts, though, can it? There will be no historical consequence to the way she holds him in her mind.
"Yes, Philomel?"
The statue falls, she fights not to say. The statue falls, and the city-states wage war upon each other, and you die from battle or disease or even old age, and I can't do anything to stop it. The statue falls, and you die, and how am I supposed to miss you when you're not a memory I was ever meant to have?
The words fill her throat but rise no further. She looks at the treeline instead of him, even though he's waiting for her response. The leaves create a pleasant blanket of shade.
In Lily's second year at university, she read an article about the oldest tree in the world for her environmental history class. It was said to be over five thousand years old. It saw civilizations and empires rise; it saw war and famine level them. Its leaves fell in the autumn and were born anew in the spring. Everything, her lecturer had said, exists in cycles. Not just nature.
She realizes that the tree exists somewhere on earth even now, and as she ponders this, something green and malignant burrows in her chest; cruel, baseless jealousy in her bloodstream.
"Nothing," she whispers. "I just wanted to say thank you."

Yes, Sebastiano had a boyfriend. His name was Pedro. Think about it.
Instead of seeing his little sister, who he hadn't seen in over a year, Pedro went to see a man he saw weeks before. Why? D.ck appointment.
Pedro blocked anon, something he NEVER does, minutes after Sebastiano blocked anon, meaning Pedro is responsive to Sebastiano despite being booked and busy.
Anon sounds like an anti-queer historian: "Sure, Pedro and Sebastiano have done all these things, but it was NOT GAY! They're JUST FRIENDS."
Sure, Jan.
Truth is they're not never going to d.ck each other down in public. Not with how biphobic/homophobic Hollywood and Italy is. As someone who is pan, gay relationships are sometimes more covert. Sebastiano said Pedro kept him WARM and anons really tried to say that wasn't sexual. Read between the lines.
Dude trust me when I say… they are just besties. You have invented a fanfic which is nice but also not real in the slightest.
SM is dating someone else and has for a while.

This post was made originally for MBTI Amino and INFP Amino back in 2018
Tumblr media
so i finally made this after the long wait
introducing my INFP SQUAD 😀😀😀
Firryn
Tumblr media
• Firryn is my Fi(Introverted Feeling), the dominant function. I kinda see her as some kind of "law enforcer" of my inner values. She seeks to find the truth and what is right, whether it be for myself, for friends or acquaintances, or a community.
• She strongly values the "right" of being special and unique. Such "right" leads to the peculiar choices of fashion, music and hobbies, which may clash with others' taste that they would find "not fit."
Tumblr media
•☆☆☆•
Netalia
Tumblr media
• Netalia is my Ne(Extroverted iNtuition), the auxillary function. Since Ne is like the one making lots of ideas and I mean LOTS, I thought of her as some "mad inventor" who always "invents" concepts and ideas.
• Now look back at the first pic of this post, did you notice how Netalia glows brighter than Firryn? That's because she tends to be more highly active than her most of the time, especially at idle times, constantly brewing up underdeveloped OCs. So if you're wondering how I made my characters, it's all mostly made by Netalia UwU
• Not only does she invent characters, she also invents other ideas, like fashion designs and dessert recipes, so basically she likes to improvise
original recipes are still under development though :p
• Netalia plays a big role among in the squad. Since Ne is INFP's aux function, I would see Netalia as Firryn's "right-hand woman."
• Firryn tends to be very stubborn when it comes to her beliefs and perspectives, if something is not in line with her values, she will conclude it is "wrong."
• This is where Netalia comes in; she helps Firryn in being more open-mined and develop the ability to gather in more information to support her own values.
• Netalia also acts what I would call a "chain breaker", because she is the one who stops Firryn and Sirene (the Si) from looping.
• Loops are stopped when the auxillary function is "activated." I would see this as a very important job for Netalia, because I am very difficult to be taken out in a loop, since I loop most of the time 😅
Tumblr media
• Netalia and Firryn really get along well, they're basically besties helping each other to keep me as a healthy INFP
•☆☆☆•
Sirene
Tumblr media
• Sirene is Si(Introverted Sensing), the tertiary function. Since Si is all about the past, I would see her as some Child Prodigy Historian, who records as much as many memories as she can.
• Sirene's job is to keep the memories of past events and moments, whether it be good, bad, or just plain neutral. She usually looks back at the past if I lost something (like a notebook) or if I did not know what I did wrong.
• Sirene is fond of looking at my previous memories whether it be long ago or just recently, the older the memory, the bigger nostalgia.
Tumblr media
• The ones to hit her with nostalgia the hardest is music. If the music is like made way back in my childhood...yeh
• Most of the time she revisits the previous chat messages to re-feel the moment of fun. This would also apply to playing games that have not been touched for a very long time.
• She constantly feels deja vu, when I gather info about a character or a person. For example: Sirene saw Chisa Yukizome(DR3); she will think she is Monika(DDLC) 2.0
• Her constant views in the past results her into becoming slightly unhealthy, like wanting the good old days back, and refusal of change, or sometimes past mistakes that she still regrets. This is one of the causes of Sirene and Firryn looping, constantly looking at past events.
and ignoring Netalia •w•
• Netalia hates it when they loop, due to the fact that Firryn is not giving her any attention while looping
Tumblr media
• I would imagine the loop would be some kind of dark red chain with a dark aura that keeps them together
•☆☆☆•
Terratora
Tumblr media
• Terratora is my Te(Extroverted Thinking), the inferior function. For Te, I see her as some kind of military officer who wants to get everything done.
oh the oh so many words I can say to trash talk about you
• Terratora is responsible for organizing and simplifying stuff. She is also making sure all of my tasks are finished in time.
although I fail to do that sometimes ;w;
• She is very direct and honest (brutally honest, so to speak) on what she says and she ain't having anyone's sh*t(including mine yes). Her way of speaking and her arrogance makes her sound like an insensitve douchebag honestly.
• Because of her agressive nature and "want to get things done quickly" attitude, she constantly attempts to take over Firryn's job because she thinks she can handle it better than her. But of course we all know she can't.
