So, back when I first experienced Michael's music back in 2009, I was only like 10 or 11. I didn't listen much to the HIStory or Invincible albums. The messages of those albums just flew over me and I didn't connect at the time.

I have been trying to find a song to base my selfona's stand on and I was listening to lyric videos to see what beats and themes fit. Now, I didn't choose this song but... omg, this song is so heavy and so different... its so eerie and sad and I just.... fuck man, I never thought there was a song Michael would do that hits a nerve like this.

I’m so happy that Maisie and “History Of Man” are being recognized, but I really hope that the people who are just discovering it are actually listening to The Good Witch in full because part of the brilliance and beauty of that song is how it parallels and counters other songs on the album and if they’re just listening to it without that context they’re missing out on so much of what makes the song great.
