the history channel has nixed my proposal for rococo aliens, where i explore my theory that extraterrestrial assistance was required for the primitive ape species known as “the french” to construct such architecture as versailles, hotel des invalides, the louvre, etc

Can’t stop returning to this angelfire page:  angelfire.com/art/archictecture/articles/trim.htm
I have not found a single better meta analysis of Petronius’ Cena Trimalchionis, a fragment of the ancient Roman satire novel Satyricon written during Nero’s reign that inspired The Great Gatsby and depicts the most opulent and outrageous dinner party ever imagined even after thousands of years, that non-classicist people can read and enjoy. It has specific understanding of Roman culture, history, and contemporary works, but its written so that anyone can get the jokes and instead of being formal and academic, the author genuinely likes the novel and wants you to like it too. It doesn’t link to anywhere or seem to be linked anywhere. Who wrote it? When was it written? Where did it come from? It’s like a Muse got sick of people misinterpreting Cena Trimalchionis and manifested the page into existence.

https://www.instagram.com/akreon/
Aspects of her work that I like:
Anna is a well rounded technically apt illustrator. I feel like her background in archictecture gives her a really strong background in being able to understand form and draftsmanship. My favourite type of work that Anna does is when she takes her Gwent card Illustrations and animates them, like the one shown below:

Anna’s career began through her posting work online on Deviantart while in college. She took commision work through deviantart and rose to prominence and financial stability through doing so.
Through her deviant art portfolio, she began doing work as a junior artist on mobile games which further helped her career along.

Aspects of his work that I like:
Jeremie has one of the most detailed styles I’ve ever seen pulled off with so few lines. His work is super clean and refined and he masterfully illustrates the planes of the characters he animates without relying much on shading at all. I can only hope to have a fraction of his understanding of how to do this in the future. I really like how he draws faces as well. It hits this sweet sport right between Western and Eastern animation techinques. I also appreciate how as a creative, Jeremie doesn’t shy away from exploring taboo topics in his work. It can be a bit shocking at times but I appreciate how he tries to push the envelope.
How he broke into the industry:
I think part of this has to do with a bit of a language barrier, but there isn’t a lot of information available on Jeremie’s rise in the animation industry. From observing his work though, he seems to have focused on developing an identity based around his independent film work.

Screaming Abdabs Gallery
The Bridge of Sighs, Venice c.1913 by Walter Henry Sweet (after John Shapland).
The eloquent delineation of this superb etching, rendered by Walter Henry Sweet (after John Shapland), in the earlier part of his career, depicts ‘The Bridge of Sighs’ in Venice. It forms the spirited ramification of a protracted history in Venetian archictecture and artistic influence, through generations of both Venetian and English architects, artists, writers and one famous lover.
As a celebration of Valentine’s Day, the first part of an historic study by Screaming Abdabs Gallery will be published on 14 February 2018, giving an insight into these individual components, interlaced with additional tales of Venetian prisoners, lovers and how the career of Walter Henry Sweet, an artist of immense potential, was cruelly thwarted by the First World War.
The architect Antonio Contino (commissioned by the Doge between 1595 and 1614) to design and build this unique 11 meter wide bridge, to provide the much needed access across the narrow Rio di Palazzo canal which flows between the Palazzo Ducale (Doge’s Palace) and the Palazzo delle Prigioni. As both buildings housed chambers of punishment or death they needed a discreet method by which prisoners could be easily commuted between the two locations.
The lover On 26 July 1755 Giacomo Casanova, the infamous Venetian adventurer, writer and lover was arrested on grounds of ‘an affront to religion and common decency’. He subsequently became one of the most famous inmates of the Doge’s Palace. He describes in his ‘Histoire de ma vie’ (History of My Life) of his intrepid escape through the lead roof upon which he re-entered the palace and absconded through the Porta della Carta, hoodwinking a feckless guard on the way. In reference to his love life Casanova wrote, ‘I have loved women to a frenzy’. He is reported to have seduced at least 132 women during his lifetime of 73 years.
The artists Giovanni Antonio Pellegrini, Giovanni Battista Tiepolo, Giovanni Battista Piranesi, Tommaso Antonio Visentini, Antonio Canaletto, Joseph Mallord William Turner, John Singer Sargent, Sir Frank William Brangwyn, John Shapland all created their own impressions of the exterior.
The writer Lord Byron, wrote about the bridge in ‘Childe Harold’s Pilgrimage’ canto 4, stanza 1 (1818).
The lover’s challenge It is rumoured that if lovers manage to kiss one another while gliding under the ‘The Bridge of Sighs’ on a gondola at sunset, to the sound of the chiming bells of St. Mark’s Square, they will be granted eternal love and happiness. The origin of this legend is unknown and the opportunity to plan this romantic scenario is difficult as the bells do not ring on every hour.
This original etching by Walter Henry Sweet of The Bridge of Sighs will be available to purchase at https://www.screamingabdabs.gallery on 14 February 2018.  Signed in pencil by both W H Sweet and John Shapland, on cream laid paper with the blindstamp of the T.S.Long Fine Art Trade Guild below the lower left image corner.

M.I.A- Museum of Islamic Arts.
Chinese-American architect Mr.Pei finds himself building a new symetrical beauty (also responsible for creating Louvre Piramid). The archictecture is very much Islamic with a distinct contrast of modern and ancient architecture. This museum is rich with art and history that dates back to 1,400 years ago!
Most definitely worth a visit if you ever had a 3+ hour lay-over in Doha.

Architecture that talk
INES WEIZMAN.
Tuning into the void.
Architecture that Talk.
The agency of archictecture.
How can we balance two important reflexions, activist and discident. The best option, together. Architecture is kind of object, but with a lot of connections (Technology)
Natural enviroment has a hole. To think has an agent. The architecture can speak to each other.
The rebuild of the swiming pool, the enormous church has destroyed, Moscou. The architecture in USA the importance of the skycreapers how can disolve the gratness.
Japan architects, they want to tell histories with architecture, nice drawings. The importance of comic art that can convey the architecture with Windows, somthing that the photography can’t use.
A great protest in Moscou that talk how they were destroying the best thing. Tipe of critical architecture to western times.
George Perece - 1969, the most important french literature writer. His work is based on experimentation, had some formal limitations. He’s known as a cult author, the idea of utopia, the system of a goverment in which a perfect and fair society is concived, were everything runs without conflicts and in harmony.
Mies Van de Rohe, Pavillion, Villa thugendhat. Le Corbusier, Villa Savoy, with photography we can show or make us feel diferent types of sensations, darkness, fear thanks to Black and white. Brightness, peace whit color photo.
That is from my point of view since each person is diferent and we feel diferent things.
