BLCD Review: Tada no Classmate Kara Koibito ni Naru 2

Synopsis:

Inukai Mahiro transfers schools in early April. While settling things in preparation for said transfer, he comes across a sleeping blonde haired boy and falls in love at first sight. He knew nothing about the said boy but had gathered that he in named “Momose”. Right after his formal transfer, Mahiro wastes no time and searching for this “angel” even going as far as sending him a love letter and then finally calling him out on the rooftop for him to listen to his confession. What greeted in him at the rooftop was indeed a blonde haired boy but he was no angel - he was his class’ “yankee”, Momose Koutarou who’s the older brother of his “angel”, Momose Tastumi!

Review Proper

Yo, I was actually planning to listen to Closed World Brightness before this but I really have good ears and since the series main selling point is that both seme and uke are played by the same VA, I quickly dropped it after a few minutes wondering why the fuck it got the green light (I still feel bad about dropping it tho as per usual when I drop BLCDs) and started listening to this.

First of all, I’d like to formally apologize since my initial synopsis was wrong. 😂 (I did update it after listening to this) I didn’t know that Koutarou had a brother (who’s also voiced by Nakajima Yoshiki as well) and that this was a case of mistaken identity! 😂 I really thought that Mahiro falls in love at first sight at Koutarou and that Koutarou plays hard to get at first because hello they’re both guys why is this guy confessing to me wtf? but turns out that Mahiro is actually Koutarou’s first love and has had a crush on him ever since Mahiro beat him in judo many many years ago.

When Koutarou accepted Mahiro’s confession - boy, I felt so BAD. This poor boy has probably been mistaken for his brother a LOT and the fact that his first love confused him for his brother is going to be so heartbreaking. It was painful listening to this CD - I won’t lie. For the lack of conflict and dramatic climax, I was very emotionally invested in this drama as much as I hate to admit it. 😂 And even though Mahiro fell in love with Koutarou in the end (actually, he figured out his feelings much earlier) imo, it didn’t feel so sincere since everything was happening so fast 🤷. I felt like Mahiro was me back in hs who falls fast for anything that moves HAHAHAHA. Which is why I get the feeling that he may also become easily bored with things because I know I do. 😂 But what the hell, he IS in high school so they get a pass. I just hope that their relationship lasts their life times. 🙏

Moving on to the technicalities -

MAENO TOMOAKIIIIIIIAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

BOY WHAT THE FUCK

It’s been a minute since I’ve listened to a Maeno Tomoaki work. He doesn’t have much on this year aside from the KD series and wait, for it, TEN COUNT 6 *insert whale noises* (Escape Journey doesn’t have a set release date and I think it may even be pushed further into 2019) unlike Okitsu Kazuyuki who has about fifteen confirmed projects (but mostly seme roles) so yous better expect me to get this because I’m honestly more Maeno trash than Okitsu trash (seme-wise). 😂

ANYWAY

I’ve associated Maeno to Kudou for so long that I’ve gotten used to him playing cool tsundere that I was out of sorts when he played Mahiro here who’s very open with his feelings and as I’ve stated in my June Releases post an actual S. Tho he wasn’t the type of sadist that I have expected - he’s actually more toned down and he doesn’t bring the S in him out until they make for the mattress. He’s actually a lot like um, well, ME. HAHAHAHA. And I could totally be down for that. Maeno playing this kind of S during their mattress mambos is just-

He makes it sound like he’s having sex with both you and Koutarou, honestly. Keep that in mind, folks. Nakajima Yoshiki on the other hand, has definitely grown a lot and he can take on Maeno no sweat despite still being a little green on the ears. I loved how he voiced Tatsumi so differently but not no too different from Koutarou adding to the brother vibes. His bedroom sonatas are also 🔥. This is their first pairing but, their chemistry makes you feel like they’ve co-starred a lot prior. 👌

So we have great plot execution (albeit it was a little fast paced for my liking), excellent voice work and chemistry - this series hasn’t failed me yet but there’s one more with no other than Okitsu Kazuyuki! I think I actually prefer this over the first one. The first one was really cute so i guess it wins in that department but this, this was fucking hot, hot, hot. 🔥🔥🔥 If you’re looking for a quickie that’s also fun-fuck-tastic with a little tug at your feelings then I highly recommend listening to this. 👌
