Parker's face all scrunched up was cute, but Hardison had a feeling this was one of those moments of her not liking not understanding something.

"Words have meanings," she said, probably not for the first time.

"And meanings change, based on a lot of things, Parker. We're going to be in the South, and it's more than just accent down there," Eliot was explaining.

"I still don't get half of these phrases!" Parker complained. "They're using good words to mean bad things."

Well, that was a mess. Hardison went to the kitchen eith Eliot explaining the phrase 'bless her heart'.

Hardison takes one last look at his list before reaching for his coat. “I’m out to grab supplies,” he says to the room. “Y’all need anything, just text.”

Parker is exploring somewhere in the vents, though Hardison doesn’t begrudge her for that. Finding a place in London that had modern vents that were big enough to climb in was a challenge, but one he was most willing to overcome if it means his girl can get a place to herself. 

Eliot just nods at Hardison’s words, focusing on the papers in front of him. They split the paperwork evenly depending on the job, and as they’re setting up Leverage International’s second team, Eliot’s in charge of vetting the potential hitters. 

Hardison slides up behind Eliot and throws his arms around him, pressing a quick kiss to the side of his head. “See you in a few hours,” he whispers into Eliot’s ear, mostly because he knows it will piss off his hitter.

He can feel Eliot’s eyes roll, but he doesn’t swat at Hardison, for which Hardison is grateful and makes a quick escape. He’s out the door in a few seconds, ready for a few hours spent in his happy place: the tech store a few blocks away.

Hardison makes it down one street before Parker mimics his move against Eliot, scaring the shit out of him for a split second. Though, being Parker, she has to one-up him, and jumps onto his back for an impromptu piggy-back ride.

“Woman,” Hardison sighs. “You don’t gotta give me a heart attack every time you want a hug, you know.” He keeps walking though, happy to be able to hold her weight like this. It’s been years of being together, and Eliot had forced him to take the physical training seriously. The only time it’s actually helped is when Hardison is doing things with his partners.

“Yeah I do, it’s written in our contracts,” Parker snarks, giving him a peck on the cheek.

“We don’t have contracts, that would be a pretty convenient paper trail for us to leave,” Hardison counters, grinning. 

“Would also be a very good red herring.”

“Truth,” Hardison agrees, and continues the discussion, grateful to have a little bit of normalcy in the crowded London streets.

silly episode idea but hear me out

okay well the first part isn’t silly! so the episode is based around a con they are doing where a polyam triad wants to get married and have been writing to senators and stuff for years but nothing has happened. maybe there is a time element that leeway has to happen soon (not sure what that would be yet, maybe someone is sick???)

(obviously polycules aren’t only and are often more than just a closed three-person system, but I’m saying triad right now bc I feel like that would be an easier and more ‘socially acceptable’ gateway into more accepting legislation for diverse relationship dynamics)

the leverage crew, of course, can’t outright change the public perception of poly marriage, but they can use the ‘enemy’s’ tactics against them and slip stuff into legislation without people noticing like they do. it’s slimy and it’s not a permanent fix, but it’s a start, and it gives people the opportunity to see poly marriage in action and that it isn’t as terrifying or pearl-clutching-inducing as they think it would be. there’s a long way to go, but the seeds of change have been sown and they will make sure everything goes as smoothly as possible

this is one of the cases that they will monitor on the back burner over time. some cons can finish within a few hours (the bottle job), and some things they will follow over time and make adjustments when needed- amplify voices and expose corrupt politicians etc

and then it’s just after 3/4 of the way through but the con has been finished? what is going on? this is where the silliness comes in

the camera turns to the ot3 and…

hardison, pulling out three individualized rings: I know it’s not legal yet, and we have the necklaces, but I think rings would be a nice touch

I was just thinking of Eliot becoming worse at calcuating the amount of hurt he's in because his chronic pain has gotten worse throughout the years, so his pain tolerance is even more out of whack :((
