i imagine he’s so fucking worried bcos he’s obviously the best dad ever. his hand is soothing over his kid’s knuckles and he’s screwing his eyes shut whenever u touch the antiseptic to the wound but throughout the whole thing he can’t help but think about the fact that his heart is racing for a reason unrelated to his kid’s situation. that the warmth blossoming in his chest doesn’t have to do completely with the way his palm is being squeezed tightly every so often by a tinier one, the reaction either caused by fear or slight pain. he starts to wonder if maybe the flush in his cheeks has to do with his proximity to you. he starts wondering whether maybe, just maybe, the shivers rippling through his body (odd considering the sticky summer heat) have to do with the way you held his hand for just a second to reassure him. and he offers to get u coffee after as a thank u <3 <3
