(In his defense, the way she snuggles into him and falls asleep so easily in his hold is the sweetest thing)

Wukong is a baby hogger and it drives the Scheming Trio insane. Especially Shanzha, whose instinct is to just bite him when he’s in reach, not that it does much.

Shanzha: (bites Wukong)

Wukong: (blushes) Shanzha, I’m flattered, but not in front of the baby.

Macaque and RinRin: We are genuinely considering killing you.

Wukong: (blushes even more) Oh, stop! Seriously, the baby is too young to hear all of this!

All three of them: He’s dead.

Eventually, they compromise and Wukong learns to share the baby with Macaque and RinRin, who are more than ready to spend some time with bun Yue. Macaque sings lullabies to her and tells her stories while RinRin knits and sews up little blankets and baby clothes.

They’re all there to see her open her eyes for the first time.
