Occurs to me that Christian cultural hegemony can be pretty well encapsulated by the fact that it is normal for people to say "Happy Chanukah to those who celebrate," and it is normal for many of those same people to say, "Merry Christmas, everyone!"

Happy Summer/Winter Solstice Everyone!

I missed the exact moment by about 21 hours, but I accidentally stayed up through the shortest night of my year (too much caffeine + too much sleep the previous night). I did end up studying outside in the sun, as my folding chair arrived and I can now sit on my roof. 🏖️ I'll count that as an (unintentional) celebration.
