Surprise surprise, I would like something SansaxArthur please!

I'm thinking canon-ish (-ish because there's two different canons, but I think more specifically Arthur canon) and New Year's (although I have no idea what the history of New Year is but whatever) 🎆

Pre-relationship but with a kiss at midnight, maybe? 😇

Notes: So... I did start researching what would be the new year's celebrations of times past, but... I kind of got some mixed information and I've decided that this is a fanfiction so... Yeah. It doesn't need to be historically accurate.

Just go with the feeling... hahahaha

Sansa sighed as she heard the voices carrying on from the hall. Everybody was quite drunk by then, and she knew this night wouldn’t end when the year did.

Oh no, this was going all the way into the new year.

They hadn’t celebrated quite like this back in Winterfell, but she wasn’t there anymore, was she?

No, she was in Camelot, while Jon considered a treaty with the English.

Sansa had nothing against the English in general. It was their King that seriously annoyed her.

“Lady Stark.” There he was.

“Your Majesty.” She nodded at him.

Arthur chuckled as he came closer. “We should really dispense with the titles.”

She gave him a look. “We should not.”

That made him grin, but it was nothing new. That man was constantly grinning, as if the world was there for his personal enjoyment.

“The new year will come soon.” He said to her. “You should be down in the hall, to celebrate with the others.”

“Why are you not there?” She asked him, with an arched eyebrow.

“I came looking for you, so you could be there with us.”

She sighed once again. “The festivities have drained me. I needed a quiet moment.”

“And here I am, bothering you.” He teased her.

“At least you recognize it.”

He chuckled once again. “We like to start the year near the ones that matter to us.” He shrugged. “So we can begin a new time with the people that we want in our future.”

“Then why do you need me there?” She wanted to know.

“I just said why.”

“Your Majesty…” She started, not sure how to finish the sentence.

“I am sorry. I didn’t mean to make you uncomfortable.” She could see he was honest about it.

“It’s not…” She shook her head. “It’s…”

Suddenly, the sound of bells sounded in the night and the noise grew incredibly through the night.

“I wish you a prosperous New Year, Lady Stark.” Arthur nodded at her.

“The same to you, Your Majesty.” She dipped her head at him. “What is usually done when the new year starts?”

“Lots of hugs, lots of ale, and the occasional kiss after the bells.”

“A kiss?” She scoffed.

“I am not saying we should kiss, Lady Stark.” He smirked. “I did say it was occasional.”

“Well, if it is for tradition…”

Before Arthur could even fully process what she’d said, Sansa went up to him and tilted her head back, pressing a single soft -and perfect -kiss against his lips.

Too fast for him to react, too fast for him to fully appreciate it.

Too short for his heart.

“A blessed New Year to you, Your Majesty.” She murmured to him, before leaving him there, still too shocked to react.

This has been in my drafts forever! I mean... it’s April and I wrote this back in December😂 Better late than never I suppose! Hope you like it🥰

Christmas was not peaceful when you were lost in the Delta Quadrant. In fact, it was anything but peaceful

It was pure chaos. Aliens in this part of space didn’t celebrate the holidays and they certainly didn’t care that the majority of the Voyager crew did as well. Tom would later joke that it was Murphy’s Law that trouble would begin on Christmas morning after a relatively quiet week.

By the time the latest crisis passed the meal that Neelix had so carefully prepared was ruined, and many of the crew just exhaustedly dragged themselves back to their quarters for the evening. It made Kathryn long for a different kind of holiday chaos, the kind where family was laughing and loudly talking, presents were been opened...

...there was very little to celebrate being so far from home. The chaos almost seemed to fit the loneliness of this holiday this year.

“Neelix promised to cook a fantastic meal tomorrow.”

“I appreciate you trying to cheer me up, but--.”

“It’s not working?”

Kathryn shrugged her shoulders. “No. And maybe I don’t want to be cheered up. Five years is a long time to miss Christmas at home.”

Chakotay moved to hold her; she barely flinched. “We are home. Voyager is home, and we’ll celebrate Christmas properly tomorrow. Provided... there is no more chaos.”

She smiled against his uniform. She couldn’t say for sure that the next day was going to be any less chaotic, but at least Kathryn would be home, with her make-shift family. 

And eventually they would celebrate the holidays together.

Valkyrie smiled up at Sansa when she came back into the room, two mugs on her hand.

“Here.” Sansa passed her the mugs -Valkyrie’s being the one with the Hulk, and Sansa’s the one with the Black Widow picture. Then she sat down behind Valkyrie and pulled the blanket around them.

“This is cozy.” Valkyrie said with a grin, getting more settled against Sansa’s front.

Sansa chuckled and accepted her mug back. She put an arm around Valkyrie’s waist, pulling her closer. “It is. Would you like to watch something?”

“No.” The other woman sighed. “I want to enjoy this moment between us.”

“Sounds perfect.” Sansa clinked her mug against hers.

There was something about the fireplace, the hot chocolate, the soft blanket… There was something about being in Sansa’s arms. Valkyrie often felt as if she’d spent a life only fighting, jumping from battle to battle, war to war, and losing all the people who mattered to her.

When Sansa smiled at her, it felt as if she could rest. As if she could finally close her eyes and take a deep breath in.

Sansa brought a sense of peace that she’d never felt before.

So Valkyrie didn’t need to watch a movie, or talk or go out. She needed to be here in Sansa’s arms, feeling her chest moving as she breathed and hearing the soft beating of her heart.
