Haunted Mansion: Disneyland, WDW Magic Kingdom, Tokyo Disneyland
Propaganda:
"The ride system was perfected by Bob Gurr, gay icon. Seriously, any Disney gays and Haunted Mansion gays, thank gay icon, Bob Gurr for giving us an iconic ride vehicle and system. The whole ride is iconic. It inspired modern day horror tropes, gives goth kids a cool ride to enjoy as they pretend not to enjoy their trip with family when they actually do, has that really interesting spider story in the ballroom scene, X Atencio giving us an iconic song, story, script, and voice acting in the Lemme Outta Here ghost and the break down spiel, THE FREAKING STRETCHING ROOM, THE WALLPAPER!!!!!! Hatbox Ghost being an urban legend, with his existence being argued and questioned for years until we finally got a blurry picture confirmation and him coming back years later, ICONIC! Madame Leota and Little Leota! The hitchhiking ghosts!!! GHOST HOST!!!! The freaking conveyor belt at the end of the attraction that you step off to and if your not careful, it's easy to almost fall, accidentally giving one last scare before you leave the ride and makes you realize how clumsy you are? Iconic. "
"This is a ride that I was absolutely terrified of when I was a little kid. I actually have photographic evidence of this (ask for it if you'd like). But, my goodness, this rough start only made me love it all the more as I grew up. This is such a fun and goofy ride despite the morbid theme and occasional eerie bits! It's a duality. The ghosts have such a personality and the Ghost Host is such a charming guide (and I find the fact that he abandons you to go join the swinging wake hilarious, especially because you wander into the attic with Constance when unguided). It's just such a well-crafted ride! There's so much to see and I never get tired of it. The Doombuggy itself is an ingenious way to move people through the ride with such a distinctive design. The Ghost Host raising and lowering the lap bar for you is neat (fun fact, The Phantom in Phantom Manor is a terrible host and doesn't do this for you, probably because he's too busy planning your death. Asshole.). The effects in the ride are so cool and hold up, especially the Pepper's Ghosts effect. The rooms are distinct and eccentric. The Grim Grinning Ghosts song is absolutely delightful, and it's such a nice touch that you can distinguish the vocals of different ghosts you see in the graveyard. I should also just give a shout-out to the soundtrack for the ride as a whole, which wonderfully warps the Grim Grinning Ghosts theme to match the scene you're in. The ride also does such a good job of plunging you straight into the experience with facade of the mansion (I adore the look of the conservatory) and the queue. The tombstones are so funny and I really appreciate the interactive elements they added in the exterior section. And then you get inside the mansion, hear the Ghost Host's narration, and get into the Stretching Room. How can I describe that room other than frightfully fun? So, why Walt Disney World instead of Disneyland? I prefer experiencing the changing portraits on the ride rather than in the queue. I love the library as the setting for the busts that watch you. The music room with the ghost you can only see in shadow playing a version of Grim Grinning Ghosts is captivating. And, my goodness, the staircase room takes my breath away and I love watching the ghostly footsteps on the stairs. It's even going to have the Hatbox Ghost soon (I am not weighing in on the discourse over the potential location for him).
"I love it. I love ghosties. I love the effects. I love women who murder their husbands. I love the jaunty tunes. I love having to stop for 4 minutes not even partway into the ride and having to watch the same things going on for ages. I love a good ghoul ride, man "
"Epic conveyer belt keeps the line moving (though that won't always stop the line from being long)."

Screenwriter Tab Murphy Talks “Hunchback,” “Atlantis” and “Brother Bear” During Walt Disney Family Museum Happily Ever After Hours
by Tony Betti | Source (x)
Over the weekend I had the fortunate opportunity to attend the Walt Disney Family Museum’s Happily Ever After Hours Virtual Program featuring screenwriter Tab Murphy.
Tab Murphy has a wide embodiment of work for the screen, but this program primarily focused on his work for what is now known as Walt Disney Animation Studios. He contributed to The Hunchback of Notre Dame, Tarzan, Atlantis: The Lost Empire, and Brother Bear.
Right off the bat, Tab said that his first foray into animation was a bit jarring. He wrote the script, and then partnered with Alan Menken and Stephen Schwartz who, as he put it, had the script posted on walls all around a room and would then go up to certain sections and draw big Xs through the words and say “this is where we think a song should be.” As they worked together though, Tab said he realized how right they were to do that, and the end result is simply amazing.
Anybody familiar with the original story of The Hunchback of Notre Dame may recall that there are a ton of characters present in the original novel aside from the namesake Hunchback, Quasimodo. He said that was where one of the hardest parts of writing the movie adaptation lied, especially for a Disney animated film, noting that there was a certain “checklist” of sorts for a Disney film that the characters had to hit. So they developed the film around the characters that would best fill the roles of the principal lead (Quasimodo), the Hero (Phoebus), and the Princess (Esmeralda), along with the obvious villain, Claude Frollo. He said that the story was exceptionally dark for a Disney film, but he found the heart in it when you would take away everyone else leaving Quasimodo to do his own thing with the birds or the gargoyles, and the world got bright and colorful. This sentiment is actually echoed in the production design of the film, whenever Frollo is present, the colors are grays and dark shadows, and muted and boring hues, but whenever Quasi is involved in his own thing there are far more colors and brightness.
He also elaborated on his love for writing the character of Esmeralda, saying he felt that she was Disney’s original activist, and she was most definitely not a damsel in distress, standing up for the issues, with Tab citing the line (though he flubbed it a little) “You mistreat this poor boy the same way you mistreat my people. You speak of justice, yet you are cruel to those most in need of your help!”
When asked about the development of Quasimodo, Tab pointed out that more classic adaptations of the story, such as an earlier incarnation from Universal in their horror movie craze, took the character and turned him into a literal monster, some sort of terrifying creature. “This is a human being,” Tab said, adding that his version would not scare you but draw out empathy. But he still had to be realistic. He couldn’t be the hero either, that wouldn’t be true to the source material, but he echoed thoughts and ideas shared by animator James Baxter in a recent program from the museum, that he needed to be gentle and warm to reinforce that this was a human and not a monster.
Interestingly, Tab said that he had not watched the film in its entirety since the world premiere back in 1996 up until about two weeks before the program, forgetting how beautiful the final product turned out. He said he cried his eyes out and believes that story holds up because of that emotion, something that everyone can relate to at some point in their lives, that they’re different and feeling alienated and an outsider who overcomes that. “Everyone who worked on that movie, everyone was on their A-game.”
After Hunchback, Tab was assigned to tackle Tarzan, though he openly admitted he wasn’t as involved in that one as much as people think he was. Shortly after he began, Gary Trousdale and Kirk Wise (directors of Hunchback) asked him to join their team for a radical new movie that would buck the trends of Disney Animation, Atlantis: The Lost Empire. According to Tab, the pair pitched him the idea while comparing it to Disneyland, saying “You know how you go in to [the park] and go right into Fantasyland, through the castle, see the princesses and fairy tales. Well, we’re going to take a hard left straight to Adventureland.”
Tab was excited, this was going to be something so out of the ordinary and he would be a part of it. He noted that he was especially excited because of the subpods that would shoot out of the Ulysses. At another point in the session, Tab mentioned that he was never worried about budget when writing for Disney animation, noting that the animators were so good they would figure out how to get what he wrote onto the screen successfully, with the Subpods off the main submarine as they battled the Leviathan an excellent example of that. He also elaborated on what he referred to as “movie moments,” those special quotes that you know, when writing them, people will always remember and associate with the movie, with Atlantis having one of his favorites, when Helga is firing the flare gun at Roarke’s balloon and uses his own words, “Nothing personal.”
As many know, the film was not an immediate box office success. It didn’t do poorly, it just didn’t reach the numbers that Disney likes to see. Because of that, Tab thought he had written Disney’s first flop. The film came out in 2001, and he said it wasn’t until last year when he was stuck at home that someone had exposed him to the following that Atlantis: The Lost Empire has acquired over the years. He even started getting letters and messages from fans, some saying that the film had inspired them to be linguists or archeologists as those who were younger when they saw it are now adults exploring their career path.
Tab has an almost Jeff Bridges-like quality to him, almost channeling the Dude from The Big Lebowski, and elaborated on the sentiment of career paths, commenting that when he was in school, he was studying forestry and biology. In one of his best pieces of wisdom from the session, he said that “Part of knowing what you want is knowing what’s not meant for you.” It was his love of movies that continued to grow prompting him to get into the industry as a screenwriter. However, that background in forestry and wildlife would come in handy on his next assignment, Brother Bear.
Tab said goodbye to the kids, and jetted off to Florida for a short-term residence at the Yacht Club resort where he would go to the Animation studio that was part of the Disney-MGM Studios (now Disney’s Hollywood Studios) where Brother Bear was in production. Most of the original story, he said, was created from campfire stories that he and director Aaron Blaise would share. Together they wrote the original story which was mostly similar and had Kenai being transformed and subsequently mentored by an older bear named Grizz, voiced by Michael Clarke Duncan. He packed up and left and only after that did they change one prominent piece of the writing. Grizz would now be dropped for a younger bear, Koda, and that one “movie moment” as Tab says, where Kenai has to say the “he did something bad.”
Tab said the story of what happened on Brother Bear is truly the story of animation. It’s living and breathing. Things get dropped, added, changed, tweaked. He felt like a starting pitcher in a baseball game, there to set you up for success and then be moved or changed out to make sure the game is won, but also only one part of the greater team as a whole. When asked about how he would draw out emotion in his writing he said he would only put the words down, and it was the rest of that same team that would succeed in making you feel something, adding that he might have words that touch you emotionally in scene, but the rest of the team knew how to enhance those words and make it something truly special.

Chapter 4
Tumblr media
Description: You accompany your friends on a day trip to Animal Kingdom Theme Park where you meet Scott Evans by chance. This one afternoon leads to a year long friendship with both Chris and Scott over text messages and phone calls.
Pairing: Chris Evans x Reader
Warning: Cursing, drinking, and drunk texting.
A/N: Italics are internal thoughts.
Chapter 3
“Where do you want to eat?” Brooks asked once the two of you reached a strip of fast food and casual eateries.
Both of you left the office in search of a late lunch. In actuality, Brooks surprised you in the parking lot when you pulled in. You had just eaten breakfast two hours prior, but hey, if he was paying, you were going.
“Champs is always good,” you said.
Brooks hummed in reply, but kept walking past the entrance, leaving you standing there puzzled.
“Okaaaaay,” you said as you jogged to catch up. “What’s up with you?”
“Nothing,” he said with a shrug of his shoulders.
“Okay. Sure. We’ll go with that,” you replied.
When you passed the fifth restaurant, you quickly walked ahead, grabbing the door for Panera Bread and holding it open for him. “In! Now!”
He chucked, shook his head, and walked in, you following behind.
With a large, apple and chicken salad in front of you, as well as large hunk of bread, you decided to let the two of you eat in peace before the interrogation began.
“Do you really need three packets of butter for that piece of bread?” he questioned.
You pointed the plastic butter knife at him. “It’s rude to talk with your mouth full. And yes, this is a lot of bread, so it deserves a proportionate amount of butter. Bread and butter give me life. Don’t hate,” you replied, tearing a chunk off.
He closed his mouth, chewing a large bite of his sandwich but giving you a large closed lipped smile.
After your stomach was overstuffed by the bread you insisted on eating, you took a large sip of water, eyeing Brooks who now had his phone in hand.
“You and Jana are too much alike. Always so serious on your damn phones,” you said. Pushing your cup away because you were just too full for even water.
“One to talk. I hear you are mighty chatty with those…Evans guys,” he whispers at the end causing you to roll your eyes.
“They’re both friends,” you reply, shrugging your shoulders.
“Not with Chris from what I hear,” he said, the smugness thick.
You bite out a laugh. “From what you hear. You mean Jana? That’s your big scoop?  You’re such a punk.”
“I’m just sayin’ that it all sounds flirty to me.”
“Remind me to not tell Jana anything anymore,” you said.
He gives you a half smile, but says nothing else.
“It’s not like that. He’s Brish Mevins.” Brooks chuckles at the fake name you gave Chris. “Have you seen the girls he’s dated?”
Brooks shakes his head no, but picks up his phone and starts typing away. You put your hand over it, forcing it down.
“Neither have I, and I want to keep it that way. But I’m sure they’re gorgeous and probably all actresses. Besides, sometimes people just flirt. I do it too. It’s fun,” you replied.
“Think what you will, but be open to it,” Brooks says, taking his finger and tapping your nose.
“Dorks. That’s the only types of people I know.” Brooks scrunches up his face and gives you a smile. “Any way. Tell me what’s up and don’t say it’s nothing.”
He lets out a long breath but sits up straighter, his face instantly changing to one that’s excited. “I got a job offer,” he exclaims.
“A different one at the paper?” you asked.
He shakes his head no. “It’s with an online news organization. It’s still a sales position, but it’s better pay and I can work from anywhere.”
“Don’t leave me there by myself,” you pout. “You can’t buy me lunch if you’re at home.” Bottom lip sticking out.
“You’re hardly there by yourself. How often have I come to your desk and your busy chatting with the women around you?” he asked.
While you are extremely happy for your friend, damn, are you going to miss seeing him every day.
“Not the same.” You take a big breath in. “But I want the best for you. So, if you’re happy, I’ll be happy. The Cole family is certainly moving up. You with this new job and Jana making partner.”
Brooks throws a hand up. “Don’t jinx it. Nothing’s been announced yet.”
You copy his stance, adding your second hand in. “Fine. Fine. But it’s going to happen.”
It’s media day at Walt Disney’s Hollywood Studios. The second attraction, Rise of the Resistance in Galaxy’s Edge is opening and you are quite excited. You hadn’t always loved the Star Wars franchise, not getting into the movies until your early twenties thanks to an old boyfriend who was pretty obsessed. This ride is supposed to be a huge deal and with very little revealed to the public thus far, you’re stoked.
There’s a big presentation by CEO Robert Iger with some surprise guests. Storm Troopers are roaming the currently empty stage while various members of the media prepare to go live once the presentation starts. A borrowed camera with a zoom lens from the paper rests in your hand. You also have your digital voice recorder ready to go. It would be easier to film the event and take stills from the video, but with a good number of YouTubers making up the event, you can always catch what you missed later that night.
Robert Iger walks on the stage while small pyrotechnics fire off from the back. Cheers all around. The buzz in the air is catchy and you find yourself fangirling more than anything. The special guests end up being Daisy Ridley and John Boyega as both actors play a part in the ride.
You’re given a return time to ride the attraction that day. Seeing that you have about an hour until your time slot, you peruse the shops selling various themed wares. Even the bottles of Coke products are themed to match the land. You purchase an orbed shape bottle of Sprite and snap a selfie sending it off to Scott.
Scott: Sprite? You’re in Star Wars land and you get soda. Where’s the blue milk?
You laugh at his reply.
Y/N: Star Wars land? It’s called Galaxy’s Edge Grumpy.
Y/N: Have you tried the blue milk? I’ll stick with the pop thank you very much.
Scott: Pop?! What the fuck is pop?
Scott: How long have you lived in Florida. The word you’re looking for is soda.
Y/N: Whatever 🙄
You snuck a selfie with a Storm Trooper and sent it to Chris. A few minutes later he was calling you.
“Hey babe,” you answered.
Yeah, your friendship had taken on another nickname. He called you sweetheart and you called him babe. The first time you said it to him you cringed. Like full body folded in half while you waited for a reaction. You didn’t mean to say it, but Chris took to calling you almost daily. He had a long break in his schedule and you had become part of his day. One day the word just slipped out. It felt natural. When he went on as if nothing happened, you relaxed. The nickname slipped out more and more as if that were his name.
“You’re killing me sweetheart! Are you there for the paper?” he asked.
“Yeah. Story will post tomorrow if you want to read it. I’m about to go on Rise of the Resistance in a few minutes.”
“Of course, I want to read it. Send me the link tomorrow. Gah! I’m jealous,” he whined.
You let out a giggle. “Get your butt to Orlando then. If you can’t swing the cost of a hotel, you can stay with me,” you replied.
“Uh-huh, okay, Sassy. I’ll let you know. Go enjoy your day smartass,” he said.
“You wouldn’t put up with me if you didn’t like it,” you teased.
“Need to stop talking to Scott. Apparently, he’s a bad influence on you,” Chris said.
“Oh, I don’t doubt that. But I’m going to head over to the line. I’ll call you later babe,” you said.
“Sounds good sweetheart. Bye,” Chris said ending the call.
Rise of the Resistance was not only visually stunning, but action packed. There were so many details that no doubt you could ride ten additional times and still not catch them all. The Sentinel was lucky to have a Disney enthusiast such as yourself on staff. Whenever there was a Disney Parks story needed, they knew yours would trump the competition. While you knew you were good at your job, you were also your worst critic and struggled to really put yourself out there. This is why you mainly worked on assignment with only writing a story of your choosing from time to time.
On your way out of the park, you purchased a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar. You took a bite out of one of the ears and snapped a selfie. The picture was quickly sent to Chris since he asked you to mail one to him a month again.
Y/N: I was going to mail this but he just looked so damn tempting.
Chris: I may not talk to you for a while. I think you understand why.
Y/N: I refuse to believe that. I’ll call you later.
Chris: We’ll see
What a baby.
It was Christmas Eve and you were freezing cold in your mom’s house. The heat was on, but she liked to keep the thermostat set to sixty eight to keep the gas bill low. Living in Florida for fifteen years had thinned your blood. The one positive about being back in Minnesota in the winter besides seeing your family, were the cute winter clothes you could wear again. Despite the warmer temperatures all year round in Central Florida, clothing stores still sold tall boots and thick sweaters.
Dressed in a large cream cowl neck sweater, dark blue jeans, and fuzzy red and white stripped socks, you were still freezing. You pulled the green throw blanket up to your neck, wishing someone would hold your mug of hot cocoa spiked with Baileys up to your lips so you wouldn’t have to remove your hands from under your blanket.
“When did you turn into such a baby?” Heath, your younger brother asked.
Like a true baby, you stuck your tongue out at him. He smirked but shook his head at you before sitting down next to you on the couch. Your mom and her sisters are in the kitchen, fussing with dinner, but mostly drinking wine. The “kids” who are all in their late twenties and thirties include your cousins Jenny, Rebecca, Tony, and Nick and his wife Avery, as well as yourself and Heath.
You brother reaches forward and grabs your mug off the coffee table, taking a sip before passing it to you.
“This is weak,” he said.
“Not all of us need a splash of cocoa in our Baileys,” you replied.
“When’s the last time we all got drunk together?” Jenny asked.
“Not since Nick’s wedding and that was like ten years ago,” Rebecca replies.
“Count us out, we got the kids watching TV in basement and need to get home tonight,” Avery said.
Nick frowns causing you to chuckle.
“I’m game, but I don’t want to get Baileys drunk. What else do we have?” you asked.
Heath got up and walked into the kitchen, politely smiling at your mother before opening a cabinet. It was taking some effort as he was trying to reach the back of the cupboard. A few seconds later he walked back into the living room with his hands behind his back. Like a magician unveiling his trick, he pulls the bottle from behind his back.
The group of you oohs at the green bottle of Jägermeister.
“We’re going to be so sick,” Rebecca said.
“On Christmas,” you add. “Why does mom have a bottle of Jägermeister?
Fuck. Mom is going to be so mad at us.
“It’s mine from like five years ago. I left it here and forgot all about it,” Heath chuckles.
“Do we have shot glasses?” Jenny asked.
“Doubt it,” Heath said.
“But we do have Dixie cups in the bathroom.” Tony said, getting up from his seat and moving into the bathroom.
Heath grabbed his phone and hit play on his nineties music playlist. It may be Christmas Eve, but this was really a get together with your family since you mainly only came home once a year. Even then, not everyone was able to get together every year.
With your first shot in hand, you snap a selfie. Best to do it now before I start to get sloppy.
Downing the shot with your brother and cousins, you grab your phone to fire off a text, attaching the picture to send Chris and then to Scott.
Y/N: Cheers to a Merry Christmas
Scott’s the first to reply as you finish your second shot.
Scott: Someone’s getting holly and jolly
You giggled at that causing your family to all send you a questioning look.
“These shots are already going straight to my head,” you said quickly.
“Drinking game!” Heath shouts. “Since we know the Christmas Story is on TV, anytime someone says Ralphie, we drink.”
“We are so getting wasted tonight,” Tony said.
“Mom,” you called out. She walked from the kitchen into the living room where you all were. “I think everyone but Nick and Avery are staying over.”
“You kids,” she sighs as she shakes her head walking away.
Your phone buzzed in your hand. Chris had responded to your text.
Chris: God you’re adorable.
Butterflies swarmed in your stomach with heat instantly rising to your cheeks. You hoped the alcohol you consumed was a good enough cover for the redness you were no doubt showing.
Your phone started to buzz in your hand repeatedly. You were so lost in your thoughts, you almost missed the call entirely.
“Hello?” you answered.
“Merry Christmas sweetheart.” Chris said. His voice was a little rough, making you shiver.
“Hi Ba-Chris,” you said, almost slipping out the nickname in front of your family. Getting up quickly, you moved to your old bedroom for privacy.
“How’s your Christmas so far?” he asked.
“Really good. It’s like the first Christmas in maybe five years where all my cousins on my mom’s side could come,” you said. “We’re having a really good time.”
He chuckled. “I can see that. How many paper cups of alcohol have you had?”
“Only two. Probably a lot more to come,” you replied. “Besides, it’s warming me up. It’s like I get amnesia about the weather.”
“I bet. Too much sunshine. It’s cold here too,” Chris said.
“Are you and Scott in Boston?” you asked.
“Yep, for like the last week. Probably be here another couple of weeks. You should come to Boston,”
What?
You cleared your throat. “Like now?” you asked.
Chris chuckled again. Damn, if that laugh didn’t get you every time.
“Like in general.” He pauses for a moment. “You should come out sometime. Scott’s here a lot. I’m here a lot. It would be fun. Give ya the whole New England experience,” he said.
“You know, it’s cold in Massachusetts,” you chuckled out.
“It’s a good thing you look so cute in sweaters,” he said, seriousness in his voice.
Okay fine. I like Chris. I like him, like him. Fuck.
You’re rendered speechless. Yes, he’s flirty every once in a while, via text message, but hearing it over the phone is something else. It’s almost not fair that he can say those things but be a thousand miles away most days.
“Hello? Did I lose you sweetheart?” Chris asked.
“Sor…sorry. Yeah, I’ll think about it,” you stammered.
“Come in the fall. It’s beautiful in the fall and not too cold for you.”
“Okay. Yeah. We’ll work it out,” you replied.
“I’m holding you to it.” Chris said.
“Y/N? Where’d you go?” Rebecca called from the other room.
“Hey, Chris. I’m being summoned in the next room. M’sure I’m a few drinks behind by now,” you replied.
“Okay, sweetheart. Go have fun with your family,” he said.
“You too, babe. Merry Christmas,”
“Merry Christmas,” he replied.
You were indeed late to the party as everyone was plenty tipsy by the time you walked back into the living room. Tony handing you a full paper cup before you could even sit down.
An hour later you had given up on drinking. You were at the point where you were just tipsy enough with zero percent chance of getting sick and that was plenty. You had a feeling your mom would be waking everyone up bright and early tomorrow.
You picked up your phone and sent Chris a text. Because having your phone while drunk was a great idea.
Y/N: We all want something beautiful
Man, I wish I was beautiful
The two of you had a habit of sending song lyrics back and forth to each other. Since the nineties station was still playing on Heath’s phone, Mr. Jones seemed appropriate. And maybe the booze made you brave since the words had hidden meaning to your crush on Chris.
Chris: A little Counting Crows on Christmas?
Y/N: Why not? Sometimes Christmas makes you nostalgic for the 90s.
“One more shot. Come on. Just one more. You’re never home to get drunk with me anymore.” Heath sniggered.
“You are a bad influence on me,” you teased, poking him in his chest. “Fine. One more and that’s it.”
One more turned into three more and you were suddenly sloppy drunk. You said goodnight to everyone, after throwing them extra blankets and pillows you scrounged up from your bedroom.
Alone in your room, you couldn’t get your mind off of Chris. After calling you cute and inviting you to Boston, not to mention the flirty texts, it was all too much.
Y/N: I think yur so cutte
Y/N: so nice n sweet
Y/N: just derseve everything you evr want
Y/N: wish yo not so far away
Predictive text doesn’t catch everything apparently, but you’re pretty sure he would get what you were saying. Before you could type another devotion to Chris, your phone rang, causing you to drop it on your head.
“Motherfucker!” you exclaimed, rubbing your aching head.
The phone continued to ring regardless of your pain.
“Hello?” you groaned.
“So, I’m going to take a shot in the dark here and say that you are trying to text my brother.” Scott said.
“Scott! Hi! I miss you!”
He chuckled. “Yeah, Yeah. Miss you too Sassy. Sounds like someone’s a little drunk.”
You giggled. “You’re a little drunk!”
“Oh my god. I should be recording this call.” He murmured.
You laughed because that’s what you did when you drank. You weren’t sure why you were laughing, but Scott always put you in a good mood.
“Anyway. I’m going to call you tomorrow because you probably won’t remember this. I need you to put your phone away and go to sleep. Those text messages you thought you were sending to Chris, you actually sent to me,” he said.
You frowned, sticking out your bottom lip. “Can you show Chris? He needs to know,” you whined.
“We’ll talk about it tomorrow sweetie. Now get some rest. Goodnight,” Scott said.
“Night Scott.”
The next morning you groaned to the sounds of your mother banging pots and pans. You were pretty sure she was doing it on purpose. With every bang, it felt like your head was going to crack open. Taking a pillow from under your head, you put it over your face and prayed that you could fall back to sleep. But then you remembered something about telling Chris he was cute.
Oh no! He’s going to think I’m some sad, desperate girl.
You grabbed your phone, praying Chris didn’t reply. Maybe he’d ignore it and save you the embarrassment. But then you remembered Scott calling you.
“Thank god for Scott,” you mumbled.
Typing out a quick reply to Scott since he would now be considered your saving grace.
Y/N: Thank you for saving me from myself.
Scott: No problem Sassy. How are you feeling?
Y/N: Like death. Not drinking again, probably for years.
Scott: So dramatic.
Y/N: Merry Christmas Grumpy.
Scott: Merry Christmas Sassy.
You plugged your nearly dead phone in to charge and regrettably got out of bed since your mom continued to make way too much noise at nine in the morning. You took a shower, hoping it would make you feel more alive. Sadly, it did not.
After eating breakfast which consisted of pancakes since your mom took a little mercy on you, you crawled back into bed. Christmas dinner was being served at five, so you grabbed your phone to set an alarm for an or two, because you knew you would over sleep. As soon as you picked it up, you saw you had a text from Chris.
Chris: Merry Christmas sweetheart.
Chris Evans was going to be the death of you.

It's time to check in on our Magical Trash Year-in-Review. If you read last year's inaugural edition, we had quite a few additions to the Disney theme park trashscape. 2020 did NOT follow that pattern, unfortunately, due to the parks being closed for large portions of the year as a result of the global COVID-19 pandemic. Coronavirus did impact trash cans, however, as we saw Disney modify their cans with locked open inlet flaps and safety signage wherever their parks were open. For 2020, Magical Trash tracked 8 substantial trash can design changes, a drop from 2019's 13 tracked changes:
Added: 5
Updated: 2 - plus global COVID-19 modifications
Removed: 1
The US-based parks saw the most activity, with Walt Disney World seeing 3 changes, followed by a unique historical update at the Disneyland Resort. Disneyland Paris Resort recorded 2 updates, Shanghai Disney Resort debuted a new-style can due to the pandemic. No notable changes were recorded for Tokyo Disney Resort or the Hong Kong Disneyland Resort. Here's a detailed breakdown of updates:
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway - NEW Walt Disney World, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Hollywood Boulevard This new attraction opened in March, replacing The Great Movie Ride. Brand new trash can designs were introduced.
Mickey & Minnie’s Runaway Railway (Temporary) - NEW Walt Disney World, Disney's Hollywood Studios, Grand Avenue, PizzeRizzo Prior to this new attraction's opening in March, the media center was located inside PizzeRizzo, with temporary stickers placed over Muppets-inspired branding on the restaurant's trash cans.
See-Through Cans - NEW Disneyland Paris Resort, Parking Security-friendly trash cans were spotted in guest parking areas outside of security screening zones. The see-through panels reveal the bags of garbage inside - and aren’t themed, other than color.
Face Mask Disposal - NEW Shanghai Disney Resort, Shanghai Disneyland, Entrance Thanks to the global pandemic, Shanghai introduced a new category of can for face masks, encouraging guests to rip their masks in half and dispose as they leave the park.
"Red X" - NEW Disneyland Resort, Disneyland, Main Street U.S.A., Corner Cafe Historical research uncovered a new can... from 1974. The “Yellow X” can style was popular in Disneyland’s Frontierland and New Orleans Square through the 1970s - and a red-variant existed on Main Street U.S.A. as well.
Adventureland - UPDATED Disneyland Paris Resort, Disneyland Paris, Adventureland In February, Paris debuted a revised Adventureland can look featuring a compass rose design, with an outline reminiscent of vintage maps.
Locked Inlet Flap - UPDATED Global Disney Theme Parks As parks reopened, trash cans had their inlet flaps locked into an open position to prevent the need for physically touching the surface.
Health & Safety Messaging - UPDATED Walt Disney World Stickers were applied to trash cans throughout the resort to remind guests to practice safe behavior during their visits.
Electric Umbrella - REMOVED Walt Disney World, Epcot, Future World, Electric Umbrella Epcot's Electric Umbrella restaurant closed in February, and with it, we lost its talking trash can. Fate unknown.
Other notable events observed in 2020 included PUSH the Talking Trash Can's 18th birthday, spent quarantined in his creator's office. The Disney Parks Blog offered a downloadable print-and-build model of Main Street U.S.A. trash cans, while Disneyland Paris offered color-and-animate pages for their cans. A Polynesian Resort trash can went for big bucks at an auction, while we celebrated the holidays at Disneyland with historical looks at trash cans + Christmas trees in 1956, 1963, and 1967. Here at Magical Trash we celebrated our 11-year anniversary on the trash can beat, did some deep dives into hurricane preparedness, explored backstage trash cans at Walt Disney World and Disneyland Paris, learned about Disneyland's liquid waste recycling program, viewed a lot of lonely trash cans at closed parks, got introduced to the "swing top" phrase for describing can types, and conducted the COVID Christmas Can Tour - a survey of Epcot trash cans as they relate to festiveness and safety. As it's impossible to be omnipresent at 12 theme parks and numerous resorts around the world, let us know what we've missed! Thanks for an interesting year, CanFans! [All photos used by permission.]

Article on Disney furloughs from The Hollywood Reporter. Disney’s problems are severe now and go well beyond furloughs, which are just an indicator at this point.
https://www.hollywoodreporter.com/news/disney-furlough-staffers-jobs-aren-t-necessary-at-time-1288295
It’s unclear how many employees will be affected when the process begins on April 19. The Walt Disney Company will begin furloughing its employees as it grapples with the impact of park and store closures and delayed film releases as well as a downturn in TV advertising amid the novel coronavirus pandemic, the conglomerate said Thursday.
The Burbank-based media giant stated that staffers “whose jobs aren’t necessary at this time” will be furloughed as of April 19. The affected staffers “will receive full health care benefits, plus the cost of employee and company premiums will be paid by Disney,” the company said.
Numerous divisions are expected to be hit, including Disney’s film empire, which comprises myriad labels as well as marketing and distribution and a host of operational units. Since the company closed its $71.3 billion acquisition of most of 21st Century Fox last year, there have been staff reductions in multiple divisions. Disney did not immediately respond to a request for comment. …
In a March 19 SEC filing, Disney listed the “extraordinary business challenges” facing the conglomerate due to COVID-19: “We have closed our theme parks; suspended our cruises and theatrical shows; delayed theatrical distribution of films both domestically and internationally; and experienced supply chain disruption and ad sales impacts.”
“In addition,” Disney warned in the filing, “there has been a disruption in creation and availability of content we rely on for our various distribution paths, including most significantly the cancellation of certain sports events and the shutting down of production of most film and television content.” …
Disney tentpoles, including its live-action Mulan and Marvel Studios' Black Widow, have been removed from the release calendar, as have 20th Century Studios films including X-Men title The New Mutants and the thriller Woman in the Window, as well as Searchlight's Antlers and The Personal History of David Copperfield.
With a blackout on moviegoing in the U.S. and much of the world — including China — the release pipeline at Disney, as well as the rest of Hollywood, has come to a standstill. Many don’t expect theaters box office traffic to resume in earnest until late summer.
The studio division has halted live-action production on its films, including Marvel’s Shang-Chi and The Legend of the Ten Rings, Disney’s live-action The Little Mermaid and Shrunk, a sequel to 1989's Honey, I Shrunk the Kids. Production also shuttered on Searchlight’s Ridley Scott drama The Last Duel and Guillermo del Toro’s Nightmare Alley.
And the company’s ESPN division has had to rework its programming lineup as nearly all sports leagues have gone dark. The sports network, which has been airing movies, classic games and documentaries, is expected to take an advertising hit without the NBA and other major events.
_______________________________________________________________________
Oh, boy. I forgot they owned ESPN. However, I imagine a lot of companies are facing similar situations.

I See The Light Pt. Three
Tumblr media
Summary: Tony takes the team to Walt Disney World and Steve is understanding why it’s so magical.
Pairing: Steve x Reader
Warnings: tiny bit of angst.
A/N: Part Three. Thanks for being patient with while I dealt with this ovary of mine. I’m staying on top of my pain meds right now, so I was able to finish this part. Thank you @jamielea81 for proofing this ride for me. I have never ridden Tower of Terror, so this is all based off the videos I watch and the Wikipedia page I read. If anything if off, please excuse me. I forgot to mention in part one that a Cast Member, is a Disney employee and Magic Bands and bracelets that are basically your lifeline in the parks. They do a ton. If you stay in a resort, they are your room key. If you’re in the parks or Disney Springs, they are you tickets and you can make purchases with them. Basically anywhere that you see a Mickey silhouette that says tap here, you can use it. They are ONLY available for use at WDW right now. Okay, enough rambling. Here. We. Go.
Part Two
Tumblr media
The rest of their vacation went by in a similar way. A park every few days and other local destinations in between. Each visit to the park was the same, everyone went off and did their own thing. The plan to meet up every now and then, out the window once the same pairs split up. Occasionally, they would find each other on the way to the same ride and would ride together.
Today, was no different. Hollywood Studios was the second smallest park in Walt Disney World. Once the group was through the entrance, everyone went their separate ways. Y/N had managed to get them fast passes for Tower of Terror and they were waiting for their turn to load onto the elevator. The boiler room was filled with different voices echoing off the walls, minus the one he didn’t know he needed to hear. Peering behind him, he sees his killer assassin friends looking more nervous than ever before.
Her hands were gripped in front of her, knuckles white from squeezing them together so tight. Her bottom lip pulled snuggly between her teeth and her chest heaving up and down as she tries to keep herself calm.
“Hey.” He calls to her gently, pulling her blank staring eyes up to his. “You okay?”
She nods and gulps, the movement straining her neck muscles. “Yeah. I just-uh-I’ve never ridden this before. I’ve only ever seen videos and it looks a little rough.”
“Well, I’m right here with you. This trip is a lot of firsts for me and it’s been easier being with you.” She nods again. He smirks down at her. “Want to hold my hand?”
He expects her to laugh and become her normal self. What he doesn’t expect is the shy look that crosses over her face or the gnawing of her lip to grow even more intense. Or the small words that fall from her lips. “Do you mind?” He does his best to mask the shock on his face as he shakes his head and holds his hand out to her.
She breathes a sigh of relief before taking his large hand between both of her smaller ones. He gives her a small smile, his heart racing in his chest. Giving her hands a quick squeeze, he turns back to the front just as the elevator doors open and they’re all piling into their seats. Lucky for Y/N, they get the front row. She keeps his hand grasped between hers, settling them in her lap.
Growing bold, he keeps his hands within her hold, but manages to slip his fingers between her thighs and scooting her a little closer. ‘To help her feel less nervous.’ He tells himself.
Once everyone is settled and locked in, the doors slide close. The familiar Twilight Zone music fills the shaft as the lights flicker and they are being pulled upwards. Y/N’s grip on his hands shifts to his wrist a forearm, growing a little tighter.
“You are the passengers of a motion uncommon elevator about to ascend into your very own episode of The Twilight Zone.” A voice calls from the speakers. The doors open to reveal a long hallway filled with different doors leading to guest rooms. Retro hotel décor filling the space and giving it the feeling of dread. Lightning flashes and thunder crashes as five static filled figures appear and face the elevator ushering everyone to join them. Waves of electricity emerge from them before the disappear and the room goes dark, filling with stars. A single window floating in the back of the hall before shattering.
The doors close and the elevator car is pulled further up. “One stormy night long ago, five people stepped through the door of an elevator and into a nightmare. That door is opening once again, and this time, it’s opening for you.” The elevator jerks to a stop and the doors open again to a maintenance room but slowly fills with stars. The shaft moves through the room at a horizontal pace, emerging into ‘the fifth dimension.’ The iconic music filling the speakers once more as the doors open once more.
“You are about to discover what lies beyond the fifth dimension, beyond the deepest, darkest corner of the imagination, in the Tower of Terror.”
The elevator shaft is then jerked below causing the guests to scream. Y/N clutches tight to Steve’s arm and buries her face into his shoulder. Steve laughs from the shock of the jerk as the car rises at a fast pace before the car is released, falling a few more floors and stops again. It’s pulled upwards and stops at the top. Steve catches a quick glance of Y/N as the doors open to reveal cameras and a semi-obscured view of the park. Her face is still hidden, her scream filling his ears. His smile is wide, and his heart is full.
The car drops floor after floor until it’s pulled to a jerking stop. Laughter and screams filling the car for a final time as the figures from before appearing in the darkness.
“A warm welcome back to those of you who made it, a friendly word of warning, something you won’t find in any guidebook.-”
Serling’s voice becomes a muted hum to Steve as Y/N pulls away from. Finally catching her breath, when she realizes the ride is over. The lights turn on and the shaft moves back into its starting position. Everyone gathers their things and begin to pile out of the elevator.
The two follow the rest of the crowd through the exit corridor, stopping to see their pictures. Y/N stands in front of Steve, looking at each monitor until she spots their picture. “Oh my gosh! I’m such a baby! I can’t believe I hid the whole time!” She laughs. Steve smiles at her when she smiles back at him. She begins to move on as he lingers, staring at the photo a little longer. His smile grows as he unthinkingly holds his Magic Band to the Mickey head underneath it, silently thanking Tony for adding Photo Pass to all of their accounts.
He moves into the gift shop and spots her looking at the different merchandise that the shop holds. He stays by the store exit into the park, watching her move through the shop. She stops for a moment and turns to looks for him. Spotting him perched against the door, his ballcap and glasses covering his face, she smiles and waves. He gives her a small wave in return, and she goes back to browsing, picking up a few things, paying for them, and having them sent to her room before making her way towards him. His chest tightening with each step that she takes.
“Let’s eat. I’m starving.”
“Finally, ready to eat?”
“Yeah, now that I no longer have that giant pit in my stomach.” They both laugh and exit the shop, heading towards Rosie’s All-American Café.

Heads Up for A Fairytale (Chris Evans x Reader)
Pairing: Chris Evans x Female!Reader
Warnings: Cavity inducing fluff, slight cursing
Part: 1/??, Read more here
Description: Reader and her friend take a trip to Walt Disney World and happen to run into one Chris Evans while waiting in line to board Space Mountain. To pass the time you decide to play the game “Head’s Up.” From pop culture references, flirty looks and Chris being his silly flirty self, you never thought waiting in a line could be so much fun. But the Disney magic has to end eventually...doesn’t it?
Author’s Note: This isn’t my best imo, but I’ve been out of writing for a while and wanted something cute and fluffy to ease my way back in. And I’ve had this idea for a while and wanted to finally get it out. This is pure Evans loving Disney self indulgent fluff. Y/N = Your Name, Y/F/N = Your Friend’s Name
Word Count: 4,410
Tumblr media
“How crazy would it be if we ran into someone famous while we’re here?” Y/F/N asked dreamily.
“I thought you wanted to find Walt Disney’s frozen head?” you laughed as you strolled through the mass of people down Magic Kingdom’s Main Street. It was the first day of your week long Walt Disney World trip and you were already acting like kids. The Disney magic making you silly with excitement and anticipation for all the fun times ahead.
They grinned mischievously, “Who says we can’t do both?” You rolled your eyes affectionately and shook your head at the conspiracy theories. “Besides I heard celebrities have their own secret entrance to rides so they can avoid the public. Maybe we’ll see Robert Downey Jr.”
“If it’s a secret entrance then how would we possibly know they’re here? Besides, you still have a better shot at walking onto Flight of Passage with no line than running into Chris Hemsworth here.”
“Jason Momoa would be fine.” She eyed the surrounding crowd in front of the majestic Cinderella castle as though expecting to immediately spot the tall actor. Reaching up to adjust the Jack Skellington Mickey ears on their head, they whined, “These damn things are always so painfully tight. I don’t know why Disney can’t just make them looser instead of my head being squeezed to death.” She pulled them off and massaged the area where the ears were on.
You reached up to make sure your own Captain America shield ears were still in place. You were determined to get a photo with Baby Groot and Star-lord when you park hopped over to Hollywood Studios later in the day. Cap was your favorite, but they were the only Marvel characters currently in the parks, and you’d heard they were a really great meet.
“They probably do it so you can wear them on rides without worrying about them flying off,” you said dodging out of the way of another triple seat stroller barreling towards the entrance to Fantasyland and Seven Dwarves Mine Train, not caring which ankles they took out along the way.

“You wanna hit up Space Mountain or Haunted Mansion before the crowds start picking up?” Despite wearing your sunglasses, you shielded your eyes from the blinding Florida sun to gaze to the right of the plaza as though you could see how long the wait time was from here.
“Space. I didn’t get to ride it on our last trip because it was shut down.” You turned in the direction of Tomorrowland and took off.
“The infamous purple wall,” you pointed out excitedly, passing the pastel purple instaphoto spot. “I’m going to be as Disney basic as possible later.”
You both gazed in awe of the future looking land as you made your way towards the ride. Even though you’d arrived at Magic Kingdom for rope drop the wait time was already at 30 minutes, but knew it would probably be the shortest wait for the day. You passed under the large arch into the silver and blue entrance.
“Don’t get me wrong, I love me some Space Mountain, but how incredible would it be if they would turn this into a Marvel Avengers ride through space or something,” You gushed sliding your shades off and placing them in the cross body purse you wore.
“And Cap would call you ma’am?” she snickered.
“I mean I’m not opposed to that plot point. But seriously though, you could get put in the Iron Man suit or pick your favorite Avenger and either gain their powers or work with them and fly around New York and have the Avengers talk you through a mission. It would be an immersive type ride experience.”
“You could even punch Loki at Stark tower.”
“Or give him a much needed hug!” You countered, feigning offense. “But, a Marvel land would be a kick ass expansion.”
“You just want to save the world with 4D Chris Evans,” she laughed, knowing you all to well.
You continued winding your way through the long line. Hopefully, 30 minutes actually meant a 10 minute walk to the loading stations, but either way you were willing to wait. Space Mountain was one of your favorites. “I’m excited for the new Tron roller coaster they’re building though,”  you noted.
“Yes!” She all but moaned. “The concept art looks insane!”
“So does that new outer space restaurant over in Epcot,” a male voice behind you added.
It wasn’t unusual for people in long lines at Disney to form a sort of temporary solidarity with those around them while waiting, which is why you weren’t that put off by his eavesdropping on your conversation. It was something you enjoyed about the parks. Meeting people from so many different walks of life.
You deepened your voice and spoke like an announcer, “Space…the final frontier.”
“Traitor,” Y/F/N shouted thrusting a fist into the air, “Star Wars or bust!” You heard the guy laugh at your banter as you finally rounded the final corner and reached the end of the line.
You turned around, wanting to mention the new Star Wars hotel, but the words became lodged in your throat as you took in the chiseled jaw and piercing blue eyes, hidden under a Nasa baseball cap, of the man behind you. You heard Y/F/N gasp in recognition next to you.
Chris freaking Evans was your mystery eavesdropper.
“I like your ears,” he commented, with a knowing smirk. You immediately felt the heat rise up your neck in embarrassment not only because of the ears, but he’d clearly heard your previous fangirl conversation. Oh God, he also heard Y/F/N’s 4D comment. No! Of all the ways you’ve imagined running into a celebrity, particularly this celebrity, this was not one.
He’s just a person. A very famous and funny and breathtaking beautiful person, but still a person.
What a person…
Dear lord, get a grip! You chided yourself. “I thought you have a secret passage?” You blurted out suddenly. And here you thought you couldn’t be any more embarrassing. Apparently your mouth was on a mission separate from your brain.
“Sure do,” His eyes sparkled playfully as he held back a laugh, “it’s goes right past Walt’s frozen head.”
“I knew it,” Y/F/N whispered reverently.
He couldn’t keep his laughter in check anymore and as he braced himself on your shoulder, he doubled over doing that laugh that only he has. The one that is so distinctly Chris Evans that fans have made thousands of memes and gifs of. The one where he has to physically touch someone because he wants them to share in the humor as though it’s the funniest joke in the world.
Although you were intensely aware of his hand touching a part of your body, you couldn’t help but join in, because his laugh was infectious. You wanted to make him laugh again and again because it was one of the best sounds you’d ever heard. It made him and this situation seem more real somehow? Like you could actually exist at the same time and in the same place as this man.
“Y’all are so mean to get my hopes up like that,” Y/F/N pouted before chuckling, too.
“Seriously though, don’t you have unlimited ‘skip the line’ access for being, well…you?” You met his bashful smile as he shrugged, suddenly really shy.
“I mean, yes, but I, uh…I kind of like to play the games in this line,” he rubbed the back of his neck and chuckled embarrassed. “Not very cool, right?”
“Are you kidding? I am a hardcore, Space Mountain pre-ride gamer who takes no prisoners,” You said fiercely, lightly punching his shoulder. “Prepare to get your ass throughly kicked Evans.”
He grinned wolfishly, “Oh, you’re so on.”
The heads in front of you slowly moved as the line pushed forward a few inches every few seconds. The three of you moved forward as one. It seems Chris Evans had officially joined your group.
“So, obviously you two know who I am, but what are your names?” He pulled his hat down lower acutely aware that he could be recognized by more people.
“I’m Y/N, and this is Y/F/N,” you nodded your head in her direction and she threw up a peace sign, making him smile. “What are you doing here on your own? Isn’t that a bit dangerous?”
He rolled his eyes annoyed. “Technically I’m here with my family, but they’ve all ditched me to go ride It’s a Small World.”

“It isn’t that bad,” Y/F/N shrugged, at the same time you shuddered.
“Small World before 9 am should be illegal.”
“Thank you!” his eyes widened in relief.  He swept you into an over-exaggerated dramatic hug like an excited puppy, “Finally someone understands!” He pulled back grinning and leaned down so that you were eye level.
The part of your mind that had left your body the moment he hugged you noted that when it came to Chris, the old saying that boys were unfairly blessed with incredible lashes was true. The rest of you down on earth froze as you could suddenly count every single one of those eyelashes framing his wickedly gorgeous blue eyes. He was in your personal space and you didn’t know what to do with yourself. He was just so close.
“We have to stick together, or they’ll get us with their singing dolls before breakfast,” he whispered conspiratorially with those damn kissable lips inches from your own. Your eyes were drawn down to them briefly before flicking back up to meet that hypnotizing gaze again. Being pierced by them in person was a lot more shiver inducing than through a screen. Something shifted and you realized he’d caught you staring at his mouth. The urge to pull him closer and give him a reason to have that stupid smug look on his face was overwhelming.
The line began to move again, and the moment passed. He dropped his hands from your shoulders and straightened as you all shuffled forward a few more inches. It certainly felt like you’d been in this line longer than 30 minutes already, but it could’ve been you secretly hoped the wait time would increase.
You knew eventually you would reach the loading station and your time with Chris would be up and you weren’t quite ready for this crazy experience to end yet, or ever…definitely the denial taking over.
“Honestly, you two are the worst drama queens ever,” Y/F/N huffed, annoyed at the unspoken connection Chris and you seemed to form. You caught him grinning in your direction and quickly dropped your gaze to your feet trying to hide an embarrassed smile. He bumped your shoulder affectionately before chuckling and leaning back with both arms on the railing behind you.
“So, what do you two like to do while waiting in long lines?” He asked curiously.
Before you had time to second guess yourself, you leaned back against the railing so that your back was pressed against his arm and met his gaze challengingly. He quirked an eyebrow appreciatively at the bold move and slouched down a bit so that you were effectively tucked into his side. You couldn’t help the self satisfied smile that spread across your face.
“Well, it depends. Sometimes we’ll catch up with family and friends back home if it’s later into a trip…”

“Do you have, uh, someone in particular to catch up with back home,” he asked guardedly. He pulled and adjusted his hat and you realized this was a nervous habit of his.
“No…”
“Good.” You heard him whisper huskily to himself.
You felt your heart rate pick up and your skin start to buzz at the way he said the single word.
He had to be seeing someone. Probably someone much more gorgeous and interesting than someone like me, you thought to yourself. I mean he was Chris Evans. Hollywood A-lister and you were letting your feelings for him as an actor get mixed up with the reality that someone like him would ever date someone like you. Right?
“You?” You asked quietly.
He slowly shook his head, ‘no.’
You swallowed and tried to keep your voice level as you replied, “Good.”
The flash of a smug smile graced his features as he looked down suddenly extremely interested in his shoes.
“We also like to play ‘Head’s Up’ to kill time,” Y/F/N volunteered. She was watching in amusement as the two of you fumbled over yourselves.
“I love that game!” Chris exclaimed excitedly. “My family likes to play it during the holidays. Do you have it on your phone?”
“Yes!” You could literally see her bouncing in place in excitement at the thought of playing your favorite theme park game with the Captain America.
She pulled out her iPhone and got the app ready. “We usually play the Disney edition or the Mar…” she paused and glanced up with a giggle.
His eyes scrunched up as he beamed, “Oh, fuck yes. Let’s go Marvel.” She laughed and started flipping through to find the right category.
“I want to guess first!” You rushed over excitedly as Y/F/N handed the phone over and you swapped places. You loved to see how many Marvel characters you could guess and this way you’d have an excuse to look at Chris without it being weird.
As the timer ticked down from where you held the phone on your forehead, he rubbed his hands together in anticipation and winked flirtatiously, “Ready for this babe?”
“Bring it capsicle,” you said with a fervent grin.
“Oh!” Chris shouted excitedly. “It’s uh, fuck!” He scrunched his eyes and made that fanning hand motion trying to think of words to describe the character as he looked to Y/F/N for help.
“Um he’s the one who does the-“ she did a swatting motion with her hand and made pew pew noises.
“Guys, really?” You laughed. “Is it Iron Man?”
“No!” Chris said snapping his fingers. “It’s the one that rides the motorcycle and flame!” He made a whoosh sound at the end of his sentence.
“Ghost Rider!” You shouted excitedly. They cheered and signaled to hurry as you quickly tilted the phone up to the next character.
“Um, ok this one’s in X-Men,” Y/F/N began before pausing, “Can we say what movie they’re in?”

“I think so as long as it isn’t the name of the character, too. Like Thor,” you hurriedly answered. “Is it Wolverine?”
“No, the red head.”
“Jean Grey!”

“No her alter ego,” Chris said stretching and reaching forward as though he could draw the answer from your thoughts.
“Phoenix!” You tilted the phone.
“Woo, we’re on a roll,” He gave a big grin as he read the next name, “Fuck, um, Seb!” He waved his hand trying to make his mouth catch up with his thoughts.
“Sebastian’s character! The sad one!”
“Bucky!”
“Yes!”
“The sad one?” You laughed.
“It’s the truth,” he grinned.
After Bucky the characters seemed to be mainly ones who appeared in the movies and Chris quickly figured out the best way to have you know the characters was to simply shout the actors names as you continuously moved another few feet forward in line. Y/F/N would sometimes shout the actor at the same time as Chris, which would cost all of you seconds from laughing.
“Mackie!” He yelled laughing at you as you almost dropped the phone in haste as you shouted back, “Falcon.”
“Downey!”
“Iron Man!” Phone tilt.

“Crap he’s the big bad,” Chris was breathing hard with adrenaline as the timer started ticking down. He held his head in frustration as he tried to think of who the actor was.
“PURPLE THUMB!” Y/F/N screamed excitedly.
“Thanos!”  And that was the final phone tilt as the game ended. The older couple in front of you had been watching in amusement since the game started and they now joined in on celebrating the fun before turning back around.
Chris wiped tears from his eyes. His whole body shook from laughter. “Purple thumb? Really? I can’t believe that’s what made you think Thanos. That’s the best fucking thing I’ve ever heard.”
“It’s true though,” you said, playfully nudging him in the side. “Ok, Y/F/N’s turn.” You handed her the phone and as she quickly walked over to take your position.
You wiped the tears from your own eyes and fanned yourself to cool off.
“Here,” Chris breathed, goofily speed fanning you with his hands before you did the same to him. You giggled as the timer started.
“Uh…Chadwick and Wakanda and…” you shouted trying to remember more Black Panther things. The thing about Head’s Up was that in the heat of the game it was like your mind would draw a blank even though you knew the topic, no matter which one it was.
“T’challa!” Y/F/N shouted excitedly tilting the phone.
“Elizabeth,” Chris said.

“Uh…” Y/F/N looked lost. “Who?”
“Crap, the red lady wizard…the one with the magic and leather coat,” you rambled off.
“Scarlett Witch!” Phone tilt.
Chris clapped his hands. “Oh, uh, Margot Robbie played her in the Suicide Squad movie.”
“Harley Quinn?” Y/F/N questioned confused.
“Yes!” He said frantically.
“What is Harley doing in a Marvel game?” You chuckled.
“Focus babe,” Chris hip bumped you with a wink. You felt your skin light up at the contact and his nickname. You liked it more than you cared to admit.
With a glance at the screen as the next character flashed, the words, “My favorite character!” were out of your mouth before you realized it.
“Loki!”

“I’m wounded,” Chris clasped his heart in mock hurt and wiped a pretend tear from his eye. “And here I thought you were a good girl with a thing for the golden boys.”
“I have an inner bad girl Evans,” you whispered brazenly. “You just haven’t seen it yet.”
You saw his sharp intake of breath and the way his pupils dilated at the words, and chuckled darkly at the effect you had on him. You heard him mutter “fuck me” under his breath as you returned to the game.
The timer showed 5 seconds left as you quickly shouted, “Fast metal!” at the same time Chris yelled “Aaron!”
Y/F/N was laughing so hard she didn’t guess before the game ended. “What the hell was that last one?”
“Quicksilver,” you giggled.
“How many?” you all turned to the cast member to see you had finally made your way to the front of the line. It was almost time to board.
“Oh,” Chris said sadly. Your heart clenched. No, you weren’t ready for this moment to end yet! You didn’t even get to really talk with him… it can’t be over yet.
For the first time in your travel history, you wanted to have to wait longer for something.

“I kind of wish the ride would break down so that we could talk more,” he murmured longingly and echoing your thoughts as you followed behind Y/F/N to the final line.
You peered up into those striking blue eyes and saw your own feelings reflected in his. You smiled wistfully, “Me too.”
“Hey can I sign your ears before we get on the ride?” he asked quickly.
“Oh, uh, you don’t have to do that. It was just really nice to meet you and have this memory,” you said sincerely. You were slightly confused. You had honestly forgot to even ask for a signature or photo by this point and didn’t want him to think you only cared about “Chris Evans the Actor” and not “Chris” the sweet line guy
“Please? I’d really like to leave you a note so you can remember today,” he said with an earnest smile.
“Sure, I guess…” You mumbled humbly. “Although I doubt I’ll forget it.” You slid those Captain America ears, that had brought you so much luck, off your head and dug around in your bag for the permanent marker you had for meeting characters. You handed both over. “I need to save them up before the ride anyway.” He started scribbling on the back sides of the ears where it was mainly just red and blue fabric.
“Do you guys want to do silly faces for the picture?” Y/F/N asked softly, sensing your sadness. She met your eyes and squeezed your hand as a comforting gesture. You knew she was trying to cheer you up.
Everyone made their way towards the three seated car and you felt the zipper on your bag open. You looked over your shoulder to see Chris slide the ears inside.
“Sorry, just wanted to make sure those beauties were secure.” He gave that bashful smile that you were starting to expect from him and pressed his hand onto the small of your back as he led you forward and into the car.
“Yeah, funny faces would be cool,” Chris grinned as everyone clambered in. “But nobody tell the other what they’re doing and we’ll all be surprised.”
Y/F/N got the front seat, you got the middle and Chris got in the back. You heard a groan and stretched your head as much as you could to see his long legs scrunched up in the small confined area and giggled at his predicament at being so damn tall. He playfully stuck his tongue out as the ride moved forward and you sat back in your seat.
The car moved into the dark expanse of “space” and prepared for the start.  As the ride took off, you got into your pose for the photo as the flash went off and then held on for your life. Space Mountain was equal parts terrifying and exhilarating since it was an indoor dark roller coaster that always made you feel like you were going to fly out of the seat. But, that was what made it fun. You screamed and laughed as you went around turn after turn and you could heard Chris’ whoops of glee behind you.
And just as quickly as it started, the ride was over.
You were all breathing hard and buzzing on adrenaline as Chris quickly got out and extended a hand first to you and then to Y/F/N to help get out of the low seats. You couldn’t wipe the smiles off of your faces as you made your way to the photo section to see how the picture turned out.
Upon viewing it, the only thing you could do was hide behind your hands in embarrassment. Chris laughed and pulled you into his side as everyone stared at the pic.
Y/F/N had done a duck face with crossed eyes, you had both hands up in the rock and roll sign with your tongue sticking out and Chris blew the camera an exaggerated, scrunched up nosed kissy face with his hand under his chin.
“I look absolutely crazy,” Y/F/N barked out holding her side in laughter.

“You? I look like I’m possessed.” You pointed to your face again.
“That is my favorite Space Mountain photo of all time,” Chris said eagerly tapping his magic band to the Mickey eared device on the wall. Y/F/N and you did the same.
“I’m going check out the gift shop,” Y/F/N suddenly said with a mischievous wink in your direction.
“I really think I’m going to print this and hang it in my house,” Chris said glancing up at the photo again.

“Don’t you dare!” You chided with a scared laugh. “I can’t have your people thinking I’m a psycho.”
“Oh yeah definitely a psycho,” he glanced out the corner of his eyes to see your narrowed glare, before pulling you closer and kissing the top of your head. “But a cute psycho.”
The two of you stepped away from the wall of TV’s as the next round of people started swarming around. He pulled his hat down lower and grabbed your hand and you followed him into a quiet corner of the store.

“Thank you for that. It was honestly one of the best times I’ve ever had waiting for a ride,” he said tucking a stray strand of hair behind your ears. You felt your heart stutter at his close proximity and tried to control your breathing. He moved his hand to cup your cheek as he ran his thumb over your bottom lip. That dark look was back in his eyes. “I should meet back up with my family. They’re probably waiting for me.”
“It was really nice meeting you,” You whispered, not wanting him to leave. You knew that your Disney magic was about to run out.
He smiled shyly, and leaned down to press a chaste kiss on your lips and you felt your heart swell. And then, he was leaning back and you knew that time was up.

He ran his index finger once more down your chin, “I’ll see you around Y/N.”
He dropped his hand and took a step towards the sliding doors of the store shoving his hands in his pockets as he glanced back over his shoulder. You dazedly waved a hand in farewell and he beamed. His eyes shot open in remembrance, “Oh! Don’t forget to put your ears back on!”  And with a final wink and a wave he was swallowed by the crowd.
Y/F/N suddenly appeared by your side with a broad grin. “Chris freaking Evans just kissed you!”
“I don’t even know what just happened,” you let out a breathy laugh as you made your way out into the Florida sunshine.
“So, where to next? Although I don’t think anything will top that on this trip.”
You reached for your bag to see what Chris had written on the ears. And as you pulled it out and read the writing, you gasped. He’d created his own Head’s Up category.
On the left ear was a scribbled phone number and on the right ear was
Chris Evans. The one who likes you.
It seems the Disney magic was just beginning…
