i already explained this in a previous post (idk how to link them so have fun scrolling) but i will give a brief explanation; the song is about internalized homophobia and it’s basically conan telling his younger self it’s okay, or at least that’s how i perceive it, so i see this as a mike wheeler song. it can be will too but will is more out of the closet than mike tbf.

Alley Rose:

this one is kind of more about yearning and wanting but not before the relationship, it’s after it. they’re also kind of nervous around each other (especially mike) in season 4. the line “i waited all year at your feet like maybe you’d love me” is so them because they both waited for the other to reach out when Will moved to Lenora.

for the bridge, will is so worried about his best friend hating him because he’s gay and in love with him. “i thought if you’d ever leave me that i’d be the reason why.” and will again for the last little bit of the bridge saying “i swore hands were made for fighting, i swore eyes were made to cry, but you’re the first person that i’ve seen whose proven that might be a lie.” it’s kind of self explanatory in a way because will grew up in an abusive household. and for “don’t leave me hanging alone again.” i feel it fits both of them but also mike, because mike told will he felt like he was losing him and he wanted to be best friends again in s4

The Final Fight:

i feel like this one says how will wants to tell mike how much mike hurt him, and how he really upset him. he probably wants himself to get over mike and thinks this will help him (but it’ll just make mike confess😏 [hopefully].

Miss You:

this one makes me think of Mike telling Will how he misses him and how he felt like he “lost you or something.” and how “it’s not hawkins without you.” in season 4. and he knows he’s been a douche a little asshat (you can tell i’m a little upset with this mike lmao) but he wants “to be friends again. Best friends”

Forever With Me:

holy fucking shit this one. this song. i see this as Will yearning for Mike and wanting to be with him forever. “I ain’t sorry, though i should probably be. I think i’m gonna love you. i perceive this song as “this person haunts me. i see them everywhere and i can’t escape them” so it kind of reminds me of how they like always come back to each other? idk this one just kinda makes me think of them 💀

this song (mainly just the pre-chorus and the chorus) makes me think of the rain fight. Will’s pov to be specific. i see it as Will saying “yeah you won you made me feel like shit, are you happy??” ykwim? He lays out the facts and that’s usually that. He wasn’t a very good listener.

But he’s trying.

As you explained what was going on, he nodded a bit. He tried to keep himself quiet, but he did butt in sometimes.

“Here’s the thing, N/N. Life beats all of us down sometimes. But it isn’t worth it to hurt yourself over. If everyone in the world hurt themselves over every small inconvenience, the world would be a much worse place than it is.”

He doesn’t mean for it to come off as rude as it does. But if it offends you he’ll just nod along.

“Well…here. Do you want me to help? We’ll do this together. Okay? But you’ve gotta work with me.”

So, I'm learning Japanese right? Now imagine that, Yamori and the Tokyo Ghoul crew with a foreign s/o that is still learning how to talk in Japanese so they mostly write and hear what they're saying but always asks them to speak slowly with them so they'll understand what's being said and one say s/o manages to say all nicely in Japanese that they love them a lot and fluffy stuff like that-

My house is multilingual and we live in an area with a lot of different languages, Japanese included, so I totally know the feeling of needing someone to repeat or slow down what they’re saying if you’re still learning. Thank you for your request and I’m working on your other ones rn!________________________________________________

Thankfully, Yamori’s got a good amount of patience for this sort of thing. Naki isn’t the most articulate or literate guy and he has to take things slow with him so you making an effort and wanting to understand makes it all that more bearable.

He’d probably get you a little notebook and books for learning Japanese. He’ll also have someone help you out if he’s not able to.

On that note, I can see him learning the language you speak to of course talk with you, and because there could be a business benefit from it. He helps you which helps him. It’s a good cycle.

You learning Japanese also helps Naki out with his language skills which Yamori is very thankful for.

Everytime you get a phrase or word down that you were having trouble with, he flashes you his usual smile.

A perk of him taking you out to eat, go shopping, etc is that it lets you use the language skills you’ve learned in real life to better improve them. Plus, if you ever have any trouble then he can step in and help.

Same goes for reading things like menus or signs. He’ll ask you to read them and if you need help, he’ll work through it with you.

I don’t think he’s the type to prefer you speak one language over the other, even if it is his own, so if you want to talk to him or anyone else in your language, then go ahead.

Once you’re at a point where you’re fluent, he’s probably going to ask if you could keep helping Naki.

To make up for it and show how proud he is, you get to go out and do whatever you want with him.

Overall: The relationships and dialogue in this episode were super fun, I felt like we got to know a lot of the characters better. Joner leaving made me incredibly sad but I think that just reflects how well built-up and likable his character was in a short amount of time
