Hybridized Options - Lost Bloodlines
I'll admit, I'm a little disappointed at the lack of art, but do you know how many characters do both shapeshifting and blood-drinking? It's not a lot.
The Persona trades out the Dhampir's combat-oriented bite for a touch of the Changeling's abilities, but even that isn't nearly so versatile as the Changeling's own abilities. On the other hand, Mimicry gives it quite the potential flexibility. The rogue needs to be in two places at once, open two safes at once, charm two nobles at once? Let's make it happen.
The Glamour, on the other hand, uses the Changeling's nature to bolster their host's allure. Their fey nature also gives them some extra defenses against such effects, but with some less-than-fey weaknesses built in. Actually, if they're designed to be vampire servants, wouldn't fey weaknesses make more sense so that the vampire can leverage it?... Eh, even gods can be caught off guard while bathing, ask the guy who got torn apart by wolves about it.

WELP, gonna have to rewatch this episode of CR, being as I spent so much of it pulling together a homebrew background for my Tovouka giants - essentially the big friendly Goliath shepherds of my homebrew world.
Honestly, I feel really pleased with all the homebrew pieces I’ve created for Talamvir! I’ve got a College of Comedy homebrew for my insane table that somehow decided that the town of Blev needed to have - *exasperated sigh* - clowns 🤣. I’ve made a homebrew Werewolf Wolf Clan race with different curses, and bindings to the three different moons of my world, and then today, I made the first of like a MILLION homebrew backgrounds I want to make.
It feels like Talamvir, and in a larger part, the Pax Auri region setting that I’m building out, is really starting to take on a life of its own! I’m so happy with it! The history is epic and cool, I have strange creatures, interesting magic, neat concepts, and cool factions, both in the past and in the present, and best of all, a lot of cool and interesting lines of tension that make things meaty to write about and cool for players to interact with.
Man I fucking love worldbuilding.

Now that every Startouched subrace is finished I can finally post all six sheets together!
Keep in mind that any lore or art I’ve made is meant as a building block for y’all’s ideas and characters and can be thrown out the window if you want! 💖
I just want to say thank you to everyone who has supported this homebrew project over the last year. The suggestions, ideas, questions and art that you guys have shared have helped me keep up the motivation to finish these guys and I hope you all like the final piece 💖
In the future I may make more dnd homebrew stuff but for now I’m gunna go lie down-

Myr (Monsters)
(Silver Myr by Kev Walker)
(I FUCKING LOVE MYR! They're cute, they're iconic, they're interesting bits of worldbuilding... I HAD to make 'em! Mercifully, I've separated Mirrodin from New Phyrexia, and created the Plane of Steel, a fun little plot hook roughly referencing Mirrodin's creation. If you want to make these native to the Plane of Metal- new to PF2- or simply old machines of a dead culture, feel free.
Also, this will contain rules for Mana Myr, which I spiraled off the five colors of Magic, but expect more myr in the future!)
Myr are mysterious creatures native to the Plane of Steel, an artificial plane ripped from the Plane of Earth and turned into a vast network of self-sustaining machines. Myr themselves are the most common denizens of the plane, servitors to an unknown master and performing upkeep on their more complicated cohabitants.
Myr have been imported from the Plane of Steel in rare quantities, and serve as a rare treasure on the Material Plane, loyal servants infused with magical energy. Some, however, fear inviting such mysterious creatures into their homes, especially paranoid wizards and watchful politicians, as it's a known fact that myr are vulnerable to scrying- and it's a distinct possibility that their master is still watching.
Myr are unique among constructs in being easily repairable once slain. Upon reaching 0 health, a construct with the Myr subtype is not destroyed; rather, it turns inactive, and will reactivate upon being returned to positive hit points. However, a myr that reaches -20hp is destroyed as usual. Additionally, the knowledge of how to create myr has been lost or well-hidden, and they lack rules for construction. Fortunately for myr, they are capable of reproducing themselves, although attempts to study how they do so have not succeeded in creating animate constructs.
There are thousands of different kinds of myr, most being only slight modifications on a basic design; what is presented are some common archetypes and a few notable variations.
Mana Myr
(Myr Moonvessel by Danny Orizio)
Among the most common servitor myr, mana myr work on the machinery that makes up the bulk of the Plane of Metal, and these servitors are attuned to one of the eight schools of magic. Of the myr of the plane, it is the mana myr who are most desired, and those who find themselves in possession of multiple, or let them reproduce, sell them for exorbitant prices.
Each school of magic produces a myr of a different color. Even though they are all made of the same substance, the magic forged into their bodies makes them appear as one of a variety of colors; the mana myr of each school of magic is named after a metal or mineral it resembles.
This small humanoid construct has a strange head shaped like a heavy beak. It resonates with magical energy.

Special Abilities- Mana Servant- A mana myr is designed as a vessel for magic. When created, it is infused with magic from one of the eight schools of magic. When used as a focus to cast a spell of that school, the spell is cast at a +1 caster level and with a +1 DC. A mana myr registers as strong magic of its school when viewed through Detect Magic or similar spells. Scrying Focus- Myr are perfect vessels for scrying on. They get a -5 penalty to saves against spells with the Scrying descriptor, and magical sensors made to scry on a myr and its surroundings get a +5 bonus against rolls to perceive it. Additionally, myr- and any object or creature they are in contact with- are not protected by spells such as Nondetection and Screen.

Introducing Toglings, my first homebrew DND race!! They’re snail-like beings that descend from a giant slug demon. This is a fully open species, make as many Toglings as you'd like! I only ask that you link back to me when making them so I can see everyone’s beautiful creations!
Here are their homebrew stats!! https://www.dndbeyond.com/races/1378243-togling
And while this is a free to use species, if you’d like to support my work and/or have half the work done for you, I’ve put up a PSD of Togling base line art on my Ko-fi for only $5! https://ko-fi.com/s/c66e42c703

Since I'm once again reminded about how D&D 3.5 specifically encouraged players to pitch ways that their character is different from the standard statblock to their DM, here's a bit of theorycraft;
Eitrik Goldenbrook is a half-orc, born in a large trade city. He is the only child of an orcish workman and an elven barmaid (he counts as Orc and Elf, rather than Orc and Human). As orcs typically don't have surnames, he and his father use his mother's, and even Eitrik's first name comes from his dwarven godfather, one of his father's coworkers and a good friend of both his parents.
Physically, Eitrik takes more after his mother than his father, inheriting her slender, graceful build (he trades the +2 Con half-orcs get for the +2 Dex given to elves). On the other hand, he still has prominent tusks and notable green skin, making him mostly just look like a particularly lank and gangly orc. He has been teased by his peers about this, and developed a bit of a temper about it, which along with his difficulty speaking around his tusks makes it hard for him to make good impressions. However, he has still received a proper education, even if living in the city means he is less "in tune" with the natural world than orcs raised in the tribes (he trades his -2 Int for -2 Wis, but keeps the penalty to Cha).

The Avariel Aarakocra. Sometimes you want an elf with wings, and sometimes you end up with a little bit more than you bargained for.
Another hybridized race. I should probably start tagging these if they're going to become a trend.
Also, it turns out that making options in DNDBeyond to be consistent with Tasha's paradigms of choosing your ability score is. A bit of work.
Links in reblogs. Assuming I can get them to work.

I've always wanted to make a playable mind flayer. For day 10: mental, this was the first idea that sprang to mind.
(Just noticed the formatting errors in the Illithid Magic section. Will update the image later!)

Did someone say solar eclipse?! ☀️
Pretty sure I’ve posted these before but figured I should share some of my earlier sketches for the Sunscorched variant of the Startouched homebrew race I made a while back! Plus some of the sunset sketches because I think they’re neat :3
(The very first concept was actually made straight after my original Startouched post so it’s funny seeing how much my art style has changed since then)
