Choices for the Steven Fashionverse comic...

(if you have better AU name suggestions PLEASE tell them to me, my friend told me Steven Fashionverse as a joke and I kind of loved it 😭)

First up is Lapis Lazuli and Peridot's escape from Homeworld!

This storyline will detail the events of the war from all sides. Lapis and Peridot are runaways and refuse to be associated with either side, but fate has other plans when they meet Rose Quartz on the planet YD:ACXG (Yellow Diamond: ACXG) . Do they risk their lives and join the rebellion to fight for a planet they've never even seen? Or do they fade into the background of the war, keeping their gems safe in the meantime?

Next up is Rose Quartz's Revolution.

This storyline will follow the perspective of Rose Quartz and how she balanced being a diamond and fighting against herself in a war. Pink Diamond was always the least respected diamond out of the four. Even if no one said it, everyone knew it. That's why when she was finally given her own planet, gems expected her to be excited to start her colonizing journey, but she was quite the opposite after seeing what she was doing to Earth. She decided to take a stand as Rose Quartz and fight for Earth! But how exactly was she going to keep up appearances with the Diamonds while also inspiring her gems to fight for themselves?

Last is You're Not the Only One.

This storyline will follow the Crystal Gems' vacation!! After a mysterious email landed in Steven's inbox, the gems travel to Bangkok, Thailand to find the mysterious sender. But run-ins with the law and curious citizens make it difficult to find this certain someone. Who is this person, and how did they know about Steven and Little Homeworld?

These are all ideas I am willing to explore, and I might even do the others if enough people like this au and want to see more!

Rose Quartz (Steven Universe) (idk if she counts as unpopular but she is definitely disliked so it counts) (also I will take this as an excuse to rant lol).

I made a short post about her before to which I added a little bit later but oh. Man.

(the following is all on top of my head because it's been a while since I revisited SU properly)

SU fans always had a tendency to jump to conclusions as the show was still airing. Although I guess I sort of understand it in Rose's case since her development was shown in reverse chronological order (a very interesting and good choice from the writers).

I think if people watched her character arc in the order of events they'd realize how much she grew as a character. Even as Pink Diamond she expressed a childlike curiosity and eagerness to explore, to prove herself, to be...worthy? She made mistakes and hurt people, lied to follow her own ideals, and kept secrets she maybe should not have kept.

But she loved. She loved with all she had. And she almost made it. She almost successfully made Earth a place for Crystal Gems to live. To be. If only it didn't end in the corruption of all the Gems that were still on earth. Oh, and how she developed into someone who knew full well that she made horrible mistakes, that she would have to carry the burden forever, never knowing if she could ever go back to fix them.

You could argue that she gave that burden to Steven. And maybe that is true to a degree, but people seem to forget a very good episode (Lion III, straight to Video). It never fails to make me cry. Her message to Steven to exist. To be loved by. To experience. She never meant for Steven to suffer as he did, I truly believe that.

Does that mean Steven shouldn't be mad at her? Absolutely not. His anger is justified. He suffered her consequences, whether she meant to or not.

But Rose is, despite everything, a good person. A perfectly nuanced but good person who had to make difficult choices.

Some background information:

There are three main languages in this AU. The diamond language, the normal gem language, and English.

The gems can change clothing at will. Whenever they regenerate, it only changes their body, not their clothing.

The Homeworld gems have discovered eating, sleeping, and generally just living. Mostly the nobility takes part in these activities.

More on the eating: gems don't need to eat but if they do, they will feel hungry after not eating (like humans 🤯).

The Diamonds influence the fashion trends on Homeworld. Fashion trends tend to last for hundreds of years before shifting to something new.

There are 4 Eras by SUF. Era 1 started when White Diamond emerged and ends when Pink Diamond gets her first colony. Era 2 starts when Pink gets Earth and ends when she is "shattered". Era 3 starts when Pink is "shattered" and ends when White is confronted by Steven. Era 4 starts after White changes and goes till present day.

Rose Quartz is a better person. She respects humans more than she does in the og show ( at least in my opinion). She learns their languages (gems learn languages quickly) and fights along side of them. She inspires humans to fight by her side in the gem war.

The Earth invasion starts at around 3000 BCE. The first landing happened in North America (this AU's map is the irl map). The first Kindergarten is started in the 2600s BCE, and the first kindergarteners emerge around 2500 BCE.

There are possibly other half gem hybrids around the globe, but idk yet 👀

The character lore is mostly gonna be in the au dumps I post 🤩

Will the Diamonds go back to how things were before Spinel convinced them to change? It seems unlikely when Steven avoids everyone but Connie and Connie can’t convince her boyfriend to visit the demons from his past.

My main AU Blue Diamond’s just possessive and overbearing toward Steven as she is overprotective of Pink’s hybrid offspring. She adores Steven and tends to check up on him whenever she has the time and has him visit her at her pool.

Giant Pearl OC would be like a tall Ballerina type who's 60ft tall as well as skinny and lean, a bubbly and cutesy but kind and enduring Crystal Gem who's the biggest Pearl of Homeworld.
