Has anyone else noticed some people starting to grow against monotheism, or even theism in general, or....
Okay so, yesterday night, in a video talking about cultures with more than 2 genders (which are many, btw), someone said that monotheism ruined everything.
And I corrected them, saying: Actually, only christianity, because christianity was the only one to dominate the world and get lgbtphobic at some point in the hands of europe.
And they were like: No, all 3 religions are homophobic, islam being the worst of them, you must hate the west.
???
I doesn't help any bit knowing that most people think all the 3 religions (Judaism, Islam and Christianity) worship the same God (It is worth remembering that they are based on the same Abraham, but not on the same God. Because it is impossible for the God of Christianity, who sent Jesus to be a savior, to be the same God of Islam, where Jesus is, as far as I know, a prophet) and have the same morals, rules or even doctrine as Christianity.
And I'm scared, because this association could lead into a wave of islamophobia and anti-semitism (which are racist, because you're going against a non white culture in specific).
Or, this could be a small paranoia my brain created and Jewish and Muslim + Arab people are safe, nonetheless. 😃🤷🏽‍♂️
I want to hear y'all's opinions, please, I can't stand this feeling growing up insida'me- 🙇🏽‍♀️😭

Also I feel like some Muslims heard 'don't mix religion and culture' but like somehow turned that into 'we all should act exactly the same and erase any instance of cultural differences in the name of Islam'

Does anyone know what the Ao3 hackers could even want?? Like it’s pretty conclusive that it’s NOT actually some far right Sudanese group trying to take out websites hosting smut and queer content, otherwise other places like Wattpad and FF.net would probably be under fire too.
It’s kinda clown like behavior if it’s a regular Ao3 hater who just decided to hurt the site for no apparent reason today.
Idk, I just feel like it’s weird yknow. The whole hacked statement sounds like an edgy 14 year old tbh. Plus no actual homophobe says “LGBTQ+” they rarely even get to “Q”.
It lowkey sounds like some sort of friendly fire the more I reread it. Like someone queer hated the stuff hosted on Ao3 and just decided to kill two birds one stone by taking out the site while also blaming the attack on homophobia or something.
I dunno, take me with a grain of salt

the people who think that christianity is the worst most problematic religion ever and the people who think that islam is the worst most problematic religion ever are two sides of the same coin to me
#mind blank no original thoughts no nuance#not actually caring about women and other people who are negatively effected by the religion.#if you don't care about all women who are oppressed by religion then you don't care about any women#like the ppl on here who criticise xianity all the time for being sexist or homophobic#but then refuse to do that for any other religion?? ok so u dont actually care about women and gay people beyond ur culturally xian bubble👍#meanwhile they refuse to recognise that xians are oppressed in many parts of the world alongside other religious groups like muslims#just completely western centric#this isn't to deny that christianity is oppressive like ofc there's valid criticisms of it#personally i think the catholic church should be dismantled lol#but it is not uniquely oppressive and to pretend it is is to position victims of religious oppression in a hierarchy#with xians at the top while ignoring other victims and refusing to build up solidarity with them#and u could say that this is an online problem but it's not. its so pervasive in the actual world bc ppl are either focused on their own#experiences (which is understandable to an extent but still pls look at the world around u lol) or they are so focused on defeating bigotry#that they ignore any and all criticisms of another religion. which also is not helpful and actually damages their cause#not to mention the people who are actively harmed by forms of that religion everyday#this doesn't just apply to these two religions obviously but unfortunately this dominates western social cultural debate#like i think you could definitely make parallels here with irish history and politics and how the liberalisation of both the north and the#south is a key part of the peace process. northern protestants became more at ease & trusting of the roi when it started to liberalise and#develop out of essentially being a catholic theocracy. northern catholics were more accepting of the existence of ni when protestant#domination and the protestant churches/o.o. could no longer decide government actions#a united ireland is more likely now because the republic has (largely) thrown off the shackles of the catholic church#like in the late 20th century northern protestants were generally fearful of the republic and considering divorce wasnt legal there until#the 90s it was with good reason. it wasnt all in their heads lol#idk i just think there's similarities there#posting this against my better judgement. please engage in good faith if you engage at all lol

Can’t tweet this because my twitter mentions are full of ridiculously misogynistic muslim men but wow these people.. they really test me. they really test me.
Alhamdulilah that allah gave me a shred of compassion, mercy, and dignity. Hopefully these people can find it too. IDK what the point of being muslim is if you don’t care about mercy. I really don’t. I can’t understand it. Do they really believe that the prophet would have seen a vulnerable population like trans people and said, yeah go ahead, let’s do a shit ton of oppression? what religion are they following? it isn’t mine.

No because people will say this is the worst world cup ever due to humans rights abuses but will also watch every game and talk publically in positive ways about it, and every other sporting event. And also won't donate to people, or support their own communities, or lift the voices of marginalized people who are actually directly impacted....
no fr!! i was so surprised bc like this entire year everyone on my dash was like "oh we're boycotting the wc" and now everyone and their mum is watching it? what happened to the boycott?
also, related: on one hand it's good that people are so willing to speak on human rights abuses n shit but on the other, where the fuck is this energy when international sporting events are held in western countries that ALSO have horrifying human rights abuses? why is it only a few people speaking out then, instead of mass outrage? i've seen this shit in f1 fandom too, everyone's so quick to say there shouldn't be any middle eastern or russian or chinese races, but will happily have three races in the usa, races in canada and uk and france and... you get it. make it make sense?
and why is it that the only outrage i'm seeing is over the rainbow armbands? i'm not saying that's not an issue but. where was this energy when it was south asian immigrants who were abused for this wc to happen. why does no one talk abt the brown people who suffered for this?
all i've seen is lazy internet activism for causes that westerners care about. and even then the double standards are so infuriating. if you want to watch football just fucking watch football man don't pretend to care abt human rights abuses or act like you're morally untouchable. especially if you're not bringing this same energy and outrage and criticism to international sporting events held in western countries. i genuinely think a lot of this is just virtue signaling, and thinly veiled islamophobia wrapped up in a pretty "but we're just Fighting For The Gays" bow. i doubt a rainbow armband is going to help any queer person in that region or actually change any law. it's actually just going to make shit worse because let me tell you (anecdotally) WHOO BOY the rise in homophobia in the region ever since the wc started? horrifying. this is not europe or the usa or whatever. your ways of doing things will not fucking work, and you get to just switch off your tv or fly back to your country when this is all over. meanwhile actual queer people in the region are stuck with the increase in homophobic rhetoric and the potential danger to their safety. actual brown people have to watch you all ignore what our brothers went through except for when it makes you look better on the internet.
it's fucking nauseating tbh when i see westerners going like "BUT THE HUMAN RIGHTS ABUSES!" while staying silent on the shit that goes on in their own countries. yall dont get a pass for being usamerican or european. the fucking hypocrisy smh.
