1st november 2023 ; Today I got into some kind of rush to get done with some stuff, or at least update myself with what I hadn't been following correctly. So, it made me feel good and satisfied with my day, even if I wished I got into this mood earlier in my day. A win is a win ! I'm thinking about changing my profile pic for something else. I didn't got to do everything today, but I might get closer to my goals tomorrow evening.
I'll try to read before sleeping (I uninstalled YouTube and Instagram from my phone... A brave decision indeed). Also, don't hesitate to interact ! If you wanna send me an ask or a comment, please do so ! Take care.
one lesson of portuguese and spanish on duolingo.
note-taking and questions on my internship.
browse through documents sent by my tutor.
flashcards for clinical psych / cognitive psych.
write a first draft of an intro for the research paper.

Today I got an 80% on an assignment. My lowest essay grade all year. Usually I would not be upset because I do get lazy at times. This time I worked very hard and spent a lot of time on it.
My professor is currently in early stages of kidney failure and his wife has breast cancer. He is trapped in a hospital whether he is healthy or not. I usually have more sympathy towards people. Only, he did not read my essay. I know this for a few reasons but that is really not important. I know that an 80% is not even that bad, it is a B.
I should not be upset about it, plus he is going through a lot. However, I still could not help myself from emailing him and asking him to take another look. I feel like I should feel bad but this is my grade we are talking about. I just read that back. To clarify, I do feel bad he is going through hardships but I do not feel bad about asking for a reevaluation of my grade. I am at the point of the semester where all formalities are out the door.
I really want to direct another show. I have an itch for it. I am just not sure if I can handle it. I have about 10 days to figure it out.
I am coming up with my plan to remain busy over the summer. I want to spend it outside reading, writing, and watching films. I also have to study for the praxis exam and look at grad school applications. A lot is happening but it is all good.
I do feel very bad for my professor. He writes poetry and shares it with the class. A lot of times my classmates roast him but I like his style. He has a very distinct voice. He is honest. I hope everything turns out well for him. I just can’t wait to no longer be his student.

18TH JANUARY, 2024 ; I came back to my hometown today in a rush for reasons, so I cancelled a few plans I had with friends today and for the weekend. my social psycho lecture was great, the professor is intriguing and I like his demeanor. I'm getting back to a routine that I like, but dread the upcoming workload (and the masters' candidatures...). My mind is clear for now.
I'm struggling a lot with basic verbs used in farsi, but I'll keep doing the unit again and again until I'm fine with it. I'd love to take more time to study more the languages I want, maybe during the summer holidays.
2h of lecture, 5 cigs, 2h of phone time, 3h of focus.
spanish and portuguese lessons on duolingo and persian lesson on drops.
begin and finish your social psych flashcards.
continue your cogn neurobiology and pharmaco flashcards.
inform yourself on the masters available (damn) and take notes.
hang out with a few friends in the evening.
take a walk for thirty minutes + read in the evening.

Since I couldn’t do some exercising during the last few days due to the conference, on Saturday I went to do some climbing with a mate and then I mostly relaxed during the rest of the weekend! ❤️📖

had lunch with a friend and checked out our uni's art+design campus since they were holding a small artist market there. we also ended up checking out the campus gallery on the way out, it was quite deserted but it was really cool. i liked how the artist used nature and science to create art, and her cut up poems from reference books. i just love being reminded that science and art are more closely intertwined than one might think.
after that my friend and i walked along a long road back to city and it feels a lot like old times' sake where we would walk half a train line just to sit at a park by the harbour. i've been spending a lot of time holding onto things that i can't have anymore, but there's some comfort in finding old memories in new experiences. even if we're in a different, bigger city now, a couple years older and a little less carefree than before.
