Bnha heroes vs villains honest trailer (parody) part 2

Dabi-obviously-not-touya-todoroki, a villain that wants to follow stains will in destroying fake heroes and their place in hero society-

-while listening to every "fXck you dad" song on his way to the hairdresser for all the essentials, because everyone wants to look great on their special day.

Toga Himiko, the evolutionary endpoint of all love obsessed schoolgirls and cosplayers-

-her greatest deception in convincing others that she's just that, instead of a girl driven to madness by her own power and society's rejection.

Also due to the fact that she’s mostly only able to communicate through romantic one-liners.

Together they'll confront the heroes and the heroes will face them, all trying to reconcile their world views while beating the shXt out of each other.

Though Deku spends most of the final War in a Beach Day episode.

And Shigaraki spends it posing like he's a dragon ball z villain.

But taking hits like he's Krillin.

Then the Todoroki brothers face off in a battle of hot vs hot/cold/extras.

Before the whole family gets involved in the fight like it's a reality TV show.

That'll be one awkward family dinner.

And finally, toga vs Ochako takes the series into full Shojo territory, complete with dramatic proclamations and the resulting stabbings-

-resolving in heartfelt confessions and floating light bubbles.

Are there romantic implications when the villain says that blood is her romance, and the hero replies that she'll give her own blood to them for the rest of her life?

Hmmmmm???

So strap in, for a story about conflicting ideals and standards of living, in a world ruled by power and oppression.

Where all of that will fly clear over a lot of people's heads, because the setting doesn't look like a futuristic dystopian landscape ruled by an uncaring well-dressed government that has its children fight for the benefit and entertainment of their society...

Even though it actually kind of does.

Well as long as none of the kids ever get killed, it's not really-

On watching Strays I couldn't help but ask "How do these movies keep making money?" The answer to that is "they don't," as Strays has a reported box office ten million dollars under its budget. Even so, it wouldn't be a filmpost if I didn't subject you to several rambling paragraphs on a film you'll never see, so let's get started on a structural analysis of the talking dog movie where they get to say the F-Word.

The premise is basically "what if we took a children's movie like Disney's Bolt (remember Bolt?) or Homeward Bound and peppered in a bunch of sex jokes?" Not to fall into the same camp as people who get tattoos of innocent cartoon characters flipping you off, but I understand the novelty of the concept. Twisted hello kitty edits have been a thing for a long time on this site. And I'll grant you, it's funny! Just not in this execution.

The issue with Strays as a film is that despite the adult content within, it's still structured at the level of a children's movie. Which is to say that in spite of the mature content, the film itself is not set up to do more than passably amuse an adult audience any more than Madagascar 3's jokes that kids wouldn't get does. And that's fine for Madagascar 3, where the intent is for children to laugh at the penguins doing funny things as their parents appreciate being able to bring the whole family to the theater. I just can't see myself as an adult walking into my local cineplex and picking this one, even if I were the type to enjoy the humor within.

There are two target demographics for this film: 14-year-old boys having a sleepover at the friend with cool parent's house that are looking for an edgy film, and college age adults looking to get mildly high and have a pleasant experience that pairs nicely with their cold pizza. Which makes sense seeing that the Honest Trailers guy wrote the film. But there are better bro comedies with Will Ferrell in the leading role that you could put on instead. Heck, there are better bad Adam Sandler projects you could put on, and I say this as someone so snobby as to name all my pets after literary figures.

About ten years ago there was a puritan censorship video service (originally disc based, but has now transitioned to streaming and been joined by other services like Clearplay and Pureflix) called VidAngel that filtered your choice of objectionable content from popular films, sanitizing them. Were you to censor Strays like this you'd go from an edgy 90 minutes to a tight 45 that your 7 year old niece would love.

I'll admit: I would love to see an Honest Trailer done for Disney Mirrorverse. I could just imagine the jokes they'd make.

"Pick from multiple different Disney characters, given new costumes like they all just received their own live action CW superhero series. Ranging from the good to the bad to the-HOLY SHIT! What the fuck did they do to Woody? He looks....good. Like, really good. Wait, is this game trying to make me hot for Woody? And....is it working? Ugh, this is causing some conflicting feelings. Uh.....QUICK! TO THE NEXT SCENE!"

"Watch your favorite Disney characters take on wave after wave of "totally not the Heartless". As they slash, stab, blast, shoot, punch, poison, burn, and generally decimate armies of faceless shadow drones. While giving you comfort if knowing they were just non-sentient darkness monsters. Otherwise, you'd have to grapple with the fact that you totally just watched Wall-E murder someone."

"Organize your Disney heroes and villains into teams of three. Allowing you to form whatever arbitrary groupings you like. Characters from the same movies, Disney princesses, Disney villains, and Assorted Disney comic relief characters now armed with weapons and superpowers, ready to kill. Did you ever want to see Goofy, Genie and Olaf get together to kick some ass? No? Well, too bad. It's happening."

"The game may be a hungry money leech feeding off your nostalgia, but at least these reimaginings of the characters are still way more fathful and creative than any of the Disney Live Action remakes."

Bnha heroes vs villains honest trailer (parody) Part 1

*Roll Film Reel*

From the manga creator Horikoshi Kohei, proving that for his Shonen Jump career, the third time really was the charm.

Comes a hit series that gives the premise of heroic academia in a famous school for heroes-

-that then focuses a lot of it's time and attention anywhere else but the school.

Unless the real hero academia was the friends and frenemies we made along the way??

Well played Horikoshi, well played.

Say hello to Izuku Midoriya, the hero (not always affectionately) called Deku, as he is finally able to live out his dream of being a hero in a world of superpowers.

Quickly finding out that living the hero dream requires kicking ass and getting your ass kicked, hopefully not in that order.

Although for Deku it's a more of a revolving door.

And joining him on his heroic hurt train is Ochako Uraraka and Shoto Todoroki.

One is the product of hero society's flaws, showing early on the darker side of heroes and their actions, having to grapple with his upbringing and who he wants to be-

-only to have his main character arc pretty much resolved early in the series and only getting some small moments of development in between arcs until his villain shows up to challenge him later.
