We went to a carnival during a pandemic with a Delta variant becoming the dominant strain. That’s what I think about before and after we do anything. It’s been on my mind so much lately, easing up here, restricting there. It’s been a balancing act for sure but we’re basically back to wearing masks full time. The kids are totally fine. Me and my husband, man, why do we have to wear a mask again if we’re vaccinated? Oh right, that variant. Oh well. I’m still soaking up life, just wearing a mask while doing it now. Today we kicked off our sons birthday weekend and the first place we visited was Chicago’s very own Museum of Science and Industry. Thank you for making us feel safe @msichicago . This visit was so good for our family, especially since I’m a huge fan of social distancing and health. I knew I could count on you to have things in place that would keep us healthy. Instagram vs reality. There has been so much that I’ve kept off line and worked to perfectly curate the aesthetic I want to portray. It’s not wrong or right but there’s certainly more going on in the background. Behind the smiles of littles and fun of life, there is still so much heavy. This face was my entire inspiration for staying up until 2 AM last night. The other face in the background too but the Link costume was 100% made by me, by hand. The measuring, the sewing, the removing of stitches and lots of time went into making it. My boy was so happy. The Charizard costume was secondhand but about three or four sizes too large. I had to adjust it completely cut it in half so he’ll be able to go potty, I cut the wings off I got rid of the Velcro, I threw some suspenders Underneath and adjusted a too small hat. Both boys were so happy.
