"What is that." begging peak lord Liu's pardon, but this is a spiritual wolf that is meant to be under the care of peak lord shen. it requires socialising and i was informed you also possessed a spiritual wolf! the wolves, ofc, get on. sj wants to die when he finds out. he wont STOP them because that would make it worse but sToP WaGGinG YouR TaiL when liu-shidi comes over!!

Liu Qingge takes Shen Yuan at face value about the wolf - like, he knows Shen Qingqiu's daemon is a wolf, had seen its silhouette move in the shadows during night hunts, but this wolf is out in the open and is getting pets from Shen Yuan so he can't be Shen Qingqiu's Calamity (the wolf is actually called Harbor, like 'Safe harbor in a storm', but he would never admit to it so when people started making up names he just ran with the most menacing/powerful sounding one) - and during the next Peak Lord meeting he goes to confront Shen Qingqiu about neglecting a spirit beast in his care. How jealous does one have to be to hurt such a majestic wolf like that?! He can tell exactly what caused those scars and he will not stand for a fellow peak lord whipping innocent beasts!!

Shen Qingqiu can glare Yue Qingyuan into silence, but not quick enough to shut Shang Qinghua up before he can blurt out what's up. Liu Qingge demands that Shen Qingqiu prove himself by calling his daemon there. He's reluctant, but complies. Everyone is upset at the state of the wolf (did someone try to dock its tail to make it look a bit more like a dog?!?!!? yes, it was one of Qiu Jianluo's bright ideas to make them more obedient), most of them on Shen Qingqiu's behalf. Shen Qingqiu very much wants to strangle both Liu Qingge and Shang Qinghua, so Airplane reaches for the most convenient bombshell he has as distraction and blurts out what happened to Yue Qingyuan before he flees.

So now Shen Qingqiu has a regretful shidi (planning various nutritious and difficult to hunt monsters as apology gifts) a very regretful and kinda relieved shixiong (sporting one hell of a black eye) and a bunch of other mildly regretful and worried martial siblings and things are going to be fine. All thanks to one oblivious but very pretty hallmaster of his who he absolutely will not thank or fill in about what's up, no sir. (It's fine, it will take YQY and LQG maybe a day or two to get over their shock, realize what happened and start matchmaking, like the idiot sibling-types they are. Shen Qingqiu will have a supportive family whether he wants one or not, and we all know that he kinda really wants one actually.)

This isn't the kind of post I would normally make but I just want to put out there about how much I adore the concept of the og ada trio?? I really want to know more about what their dynamic was like since they were the first three members of the agency. I think Kunikida probably joined the agency sometime after Yosano so I feel like his backstory has to be linked with them including how he met Fukuzawa.

I feel like it's pretty interesting that Kunikida trained under Fukuzawa, and a fact that's overlooked by many because I doubt Fukuzawa took any other students under him. So I'm really curious about what was the situation that brought them together.

I wish we get to see Kunikida's backstory this year. I feel like it's been kept in the dark for the longest time (including Tanizaki's and the recent brief background for Kenji) and I would literally die for some og ada crumbs. I really wish the next light novel could be about them 🥲🥲 Something like another flashback, or retelling as the format has been in most of the light novels. There are also these two wonderful official arts that exist (the first one literally looks like an old photograph with the year (?) written below, the kind of photograph Fukuzawa would have framed in his office :')) so you can't tell me the idea isn't there.

Lemme rant about 15 in the anime because WTF WAS THAT. Dazai did NOT look like the whiny little bitch who’s a know-it-all until he met this kid that for the first time in his life he was genuinely in shock that I know and love. There was NO build up to dazai saying he wanted to give life a chance BECASE HE LOOKED SUPER BORED THE WHOLE TIME!! It’s like making dazai anything other than an emo teen was out of their budget. What he said didn’t make sense because at no point did dazai show any hints of him being the least bit intrigued to live throughout the duration of the mission. They didn’t add dazai being in awe with chuuya’s combat skills, they didn’t include the private two on two conversation they had before deciding that they want to defeat randou together and that the other reason he wanted to continue living was so that he could be alive to interact with Chuuya more. Honestly I cannot think of a better way to say fuck skk than this. ITS SO- UGHHH!! It’s like bones has their own vision of bsd that they make up, and it completely ruins the story 😐 They fail to add depth to the characters and instead make them as one dimensional as possible. Lark Liveblogs Lit episode 4(?): The Mortal Instruments

Here’s what I know going into it;

Magnus & Alec are endgame, Alec walks away from his marriage???? Very dramatically to kiss Magnus. I, originally, thought these two were reversed but my mate corrected me.

It’s (roughly???) inspired by her old Draco Trilogy (which I did track down and download, will read eventually) and shares the name with a Ron/Ginny fic (which I read. Mortal Instrument was a very fitting title)

And that’s literally all I know before hand;

Unlike the Harry Potter post, I’ll add my thoughts whilst reading and not just completely after finishing. I will still do the entire series post-mortum on each book, though.

City of Bones; (3/11/23)

Alec is EASILY my favorite. I figured it’d be Simon or Magnus because my blorbo history favors Simons and Magnuses, but Alec has CAPTURED my heart and when he almost died to Abbadon I literally cried even though I KNEW he survived.

Clary, on the contrary, is only slightly less boring than Isabelle. I think Isabelle is badass because she’s got a whip but both of these women is like. Go girl! Give us NOTHING! Especially weird because Clary is primarily our perspective character??

Jace & Simon’s weird little dynamic is interesting. I’m not. Its whatever. I don’t hate it, I’m not intrigued. I DO think Alec/Jace is a far superior romance to Jace/Clary. But also maybe my opinion will change. The little kiss in the garden WAS very cute. Jace thinks he’s so cool and he’s literally not. He’s literally so cringe. His snarky sass is so fun as well, obsessed with whatevers going on there.

The cup being IN the Tarot cards was SO cool. I’m obsessed with THAT.

How old is Magnus. Can I be condoning Malec. Is it like, a Calypso situation. Emotionally he act around 19-20, we’re going with that. He feels like a shitty frat boy. How did this man name Magnus Chase he’s so cool and Magnus Chase is the most pathetic meow meow I’ve ever seen.

We didnt even get to Magnus or Alec because every casting on the movie was good until Isabelle and it was so bad I made my mate turn it off because I Could Not.

I’m on episode ten of season one of Shadowhunters and its not good but it is fun so I’m thriving. Like this show is bad but also its a fun time so we’re thriving.

I don't know. Maybe I'm just underestimating how truly weird and creepy manga romances can get in action seinen/shounen....

But can I point out how...strangely averse BSD is towards general romancey things? And how the only times it's brought it up is in a weird context?

Aka, Tanizaki siblings, Kyouka and Atsushi (not between them cause I don't think they're even considering it; I mean Fitzgerald making that comment), Aya proposing to Kunikida, Higuchi's...odd feelings for Akutagawa (Ch. 88, the way she pulled back when she thought Aku was gonna go in for something?), Dazai and his....yeah. And even those things kinda fizzle out and are so backgroundish.

I'm not sure if this kind of lack of romance/sex/fanservice is normal in action stuff (my anime/manga list is very short and HIGHLY filtered thanks to friends), but I am curious about it....
