“Are you actually serious?” Jihyo says, placing her cup of coffee down. Sana pinches the bridge of her nose and lets out a small breath,
“Jihyo, I don’t know what to do,” Sana says defeatedly.
Two months have passed by and that means two months of seeing you every now and then. Johnny, your brother, has returned from his business trip, so he ended up being the one to take Hana to school in the morning and the one to pick her up in the afternoon. You, however, were not going to miss the chance to see this lovely woman named Sana. 5'4 inches of pure beauty and charm. So, you convinced him to let you take Hana to school once or twice a week just to see who you think is the woman blessed by Aphrodite.
I mean, the temperature is dropping, and the warmth that spreads through your body when you see Sana is definitely something you need for this weather.
Every week Sana would see you in the morning once or twice. You two would exchange your friendly greetings before Hana goes off to chat with her new best friend Jiyeong, you’d stare at each other all lovingly (you two are oblivious, it’s sick), and then part ways. Rinse and repeat, reuse, reduce, recycle, etc, this went on for two damn months.
Sana would never say anything more, she wouldn’t flirt, she wouldn’t ask you out, and she wouldn’t do anything but be friendly. She still believed that you were literally her student’s mother, and there was a guilt that got heavier every time her heart did a flip from seeing you.
Each interaction sparked a small flame in your hearts, and just before it grew bigger, you’d wave goodbye; the flame would die again, never growing large enough to really warm you two the way you both needed.
“Sana… I honestly have no clue what to say,” Jihyo starts, and she looks at the young teacher in front of her, practically losing her mind, “I mean, you’re sure she’s her mom?”
“Yes, I mean, the girl’s dad and her take turns dropping her off and whatnot. I'm not going to be more delusional than I already am trying to find anything that makes her seem less like a mother, I mean, it's clear that she is the mother of that girl.” Sana explains, and her heart sinks a little, “I guess her dad is nice, though, and tall, I don’t know.” Sana groans.
Jihyo watches Sana stick out her signature little pout and swirl the coffee in her cup,
“Well… There are always others, no?”
“I don’t know, it’s just something about her Jihyo,” and Jihyo listens with interest, “I just, ever since we met, I feel like, there was some kind of… god this is so embarrassing…” Sana trails off, putting a hand on her forehead and pinching her eyes shut from slight embarrassment. Sana reminisces the way you’d joke about Hana making your wrinkles appear if she kept it up with her little antics, how you’d make her laugh at your little comments, and the way your eyes scan the room for her in the mornings and -
“You’ve been a hopeless romantic since we were roommates, I’ve probably heard worse.” Jihyo sighs, and she reminisces about the days when Sana and she had to share a small single-bedroom dorm, and how she would gush about anything and romanticize everything.
“Look, she’s just so pretty… Maybe we could just be friends? She’s sweet.” Sana suggests, and Jihyo laughs in disbelief.
“You want to be friends with someone’s mother that you also, or, might have a crush on?”
“Maybe.”
-
You let yourself in through the front door with your spare keys, hanging your jacket on the coat hanger and sliding your shoes off, setting them on the shoe rack.
There’s a faint melody of a slow, soft song playing, and there’s a low voice that hums along to the old tune. It fits the atmosphere of the quiet house on a Thursday night.
You creep through the hall quietly to see your brother in the dimmed kitchen washing a few plates. He’s in a navy long-sleeved shirt with its sleeves rolled up so water doesn't temporarily shade his apparel, and loose shorts that go down to just above his knees. His hair is a bit messy, and he looks nerdy with his circular black glasses on. You laugh at the sight of him in his pajamas and slides, he jumps a little and turns his head in surprise after hearing you.
“My god, at least text me.” He sighs, and you chuckle at him. You make your way over to the area where he is and sit across from him at the kitchen island, he directs his attention back to the dirty plate in his hand, “Did you need something?”
“Kinda.”
“You know where everything is, just grab it if you need it. Also, be quiet, Hana just fell asleep.” Johnny responds, turning off the sink and placing the white dish in the dishwasher.
“It’s not a physical thing, I just… maybe some advice, or at least your thoughts.”
“...On?”
“There’s this girl,”
"Oh," He mumbles quietly, “You’re ready to date again?”
“I think so,” You begin, “She’s different you know. Not like that girl in high school. She’s actually the most beautiful woman I’ve ever seen, and she’s sweet and nice and caring and-”
“How long have you known her?”
“Two months...”
“So it is Ms. Minatozaki.” Johnny scoffs, though, not in an insulting way, more of an ‘I fucking knew it’ way. He picks up a rag and starts to wipe it on the countertop.
You look at your taller brother in surprise, “How did you know?”
“Hana tells me all about you two y’know? Why else would you willingly wake up earlier than you should to drop off my daughter at school? And, she tells me that you ask about her teacher?” He laughs, “You’re not good at hiding things, never have been.”
“Hey!” You say defensively, and a little too loud as it makes him put a finger to his lips,
“Lower your voice.”
“Sorry.” You mumble, laying your head on your palm. Johnny turns his body to face you instead of the counter connected to the sink that he had previously been wiping,
“Soooo, what are you going to do?”
“I don’t know Johnny.”
“You think she likes you?” He asks, genuinely curious about your new interest. Johnny grabs two glasses of water and places them on the counter, then sits down to the right of you, making sure to give his full attention to you.
Johnny has always been a good brother, and you two had your necessary brother-sister moments where you were at each other's throats; in fact, you’d bicker all the damn time and it even went on into high school. However, you two always had each other’s backs. Even when you hated each other there would be moments where you two were the only ones who understood each other, and sometimes time seemed to stop when you’d talk about the deeper topics and anything bothering you two.
And so, time slows down as Johnny listens to your rant.
“We’re friendly, I mean, what am I thinking? I feel slightly delusional I won’t even lie,” You sigh, “She’s so pretty and sweet and I just, I really want to get to know her. Like ever since I met her I felt like… It’s so corny but I swear the world literally paused for a moment.” You add, shifting your look away from your older brother.
How are you supposed to tell your brother that this woman that you’ve known for two months is making you lose some sleep, and, by the way, you haven’t even had a full conversation with her either. You think of the woman that you go out of your way to run into and see for ten minutes a day total, twice a week. You think of her radiant smile that rivals the sun's rays, the voice that’s more soothing than any song on your playlist, and the way her eyes light up when she sees you, and -
“You’re head over heels, huh,” Johnny says, amused.
“Don’t be ridiculous, I barely know her.” you lie,
“Well, you could.”
“And how am I supposed to do that? ‘Oh hey I think of you day and night just because I think you’re cute and nice and I think I almost overfilled a cup of cold brew while daydreaming about you, uh maybe we could go out sometime?’”
“Maybe don’t say that much, dumbass.” Your older brother says playfully, “Just start with a compliment or something, you seriously suck at this romance stuff.”
“Thanks,” You mutter, rolling your eyes, “But what if she thinks that’s weird? I’m literally her student’s aunt.”
“Maybe,” Johnny sighs and finishes the water in his cup, “Maybe you should get some rest, y/n. If you lose sleep over this woman who you’ve never had a full conversation with, imagine how much sleep you’ll lose when you finally do.” He stands up and makes his way over back to the sink to rinse the glass cup you had gotten him for his last birthday, “So, maybe you should catch up on rest now and rant to me when you finally have the balls to actually make a conversation with her, then I could actually give you some decent advice."
“You suck.”
“I want to give you my feedback and advice, but this is literally all I can say right now: ask her out and come back to me.”
“This is too much.”
“You’re a loser, y/n.” Johnny jokes, and he takes the cup that you hadn’t touched away and then rinses it.
-
You don’t even get to plan anything or prepare yourself for your next interaction with Sana, and you look stupid when you run into her too.
You’re at the nearest convenience store in an oversized t-shirt that was your brothers’, the gray shirt with a shark graphic on it that was too comfy to not steal. Paired with that tee were plaid shorts and white socks with more sharks on them that you had gotten from Hana last Christmas, along with grayish-green clogs on your feet.
You were dressed like a college student that was on a budget, and of course, you had to run into the woman of your dreams at a convenience store at 12:24 am on a Friday night while looking stupid.
Sana had run into you while you scanned the drinks section. You didn’t notice her calling out your name while there was pop music playing in your earbuds, and when you turned to see who had tapped on your shoulder your eyes widened.
Sana held a small basket in her hand, and she wore a purple sweatshirt along with gray sweatpants, much more presentable than what you were wearing. Your face goes red as you realize that she’s caught you looking ridiculous, all while she looks perfect.
Her hair is clipped up and some strands fall over her face, and she looks so unbelievably adorable just standing there smiling at you.
“Hi.” She says, looking you up and down.
She scans your whole look and gets a little flustered by how precious you look. Your hair is messed up and disheveled at the roots, as if you’d just gotten out of bed and ran a hand through it. The oversized t-shirt drowned your figure in comfort, and your inked, toned forearms were revealed. The t-shirt you wore had a cute shark graphic on it, Sana had guessed that your daughter had something to do with why you had that shirt. She smiles at the sight of you in such comfy clothing, looking lovely as ever while you stare back at her.
“Hey.” You respond, taking out an earbud,
“It’s surprising to see you here y/n,” Sana giggles, “Thirsty?” She questions, and she’s peeking at the vitamin water in one of your hands.
“I guess so.” You mumble, biting the inside of your cheek and putting a hand in your pocket, “It’s pretty surprising to see you here too.” You add. Surprising, but wow, definitely lucky. When would you ever see her looking so comfy and out of her workplace looking so cute?
Sana giggles and you feel like a huge gust of wind has hit you so suddenly, about to hit you off your feet. You smile brightly.
“I couldn’t sleep, I wanted something to snack on,” Sana shrugs. You glance at her basket and see some spicy turtle chips in the basket,
“Eating something spicy at this time is new to me, most people would have something warm, no?”
“Maybe.” Sana mutters, “I like your outfit, by the way.”
Your ears turn red again and you look down at your clothing, “Yeah… It’s a shirt from Hana’s dad, haha, that’s why it’s so big.”
Sana’s heart sinks a bit at the mention of Hana’s dad.
Sana and Johnny had met other times, and Sana thought he was nice, sweet, and she can't lie he does has a nice smile, but not as nice as yours. He treated Hana with care; Sana could tell he loved her dearly, as much as you did.
“I see, I like it. The two of them must love sharks, she always draws them during class.”
“She and her dad are very similar, lots of shark things in the house. I prefer koalas.” You reply. You wonder why the hell you’re mentioning koalas at this time, at this moment in this place, but it doesn’t matter because it seems to spark some kind of conversation with the woman in front of you, and Sana thinks it’s cute, actually.
“Koalas?” She questions amusingly, "They’re cute. I think hamsters are cuter, though.”
“hamsters?”
“Mhm.”
You chuckle at her response and wonder, how does she get cuter every time? Sana turns her head to eye at the drinks, then makes her way to the refrigerator door to grab one for herself, she grabs a canned iced americano and turns her body to face you again,
“Do you live near? I feel like I would’ve run into you sooner if you did.” Sana says, looking at the can in her right hand.
“Uh - no. The nearest convenience store closes at 12, so I just drove around until I found one open.” You answer, “Do you live near?” You ask. You wonder if the question is too weird or creepy to ask, I mean, this is a woman you don’t know too well, and would it be weird to ask a person you find so attractive where they live?
“Kind of. It’s a fifteen-minute walk, maybe less, give or take. The one right next to my place is closed too.”
“You walked? At this time?” You question her. Worry takes over your whole body because she walked alone? In the dark? At this hour?
Sana just hums in response, “Yeah, the neighborhood is really quiet and not too bad.”
“Still, you should’ve driven or something.”
“I don’t drive.” She simply states. You furrow your brows. She just stares back at you with those big brown eyes, it almost makes you forget about worrying.
She walks past you and heads to the self-checkout, you follow. There's a sudden idea that pops up in your mind, and you usually wouldn't be so bold to suggest or ask anything so direct, but it's twelve in the morning and your mind is too scrambled to make or think of any decent decisions.
“Sana,” You murmur, voice just barely above a whisper as you find the confidence for what you’re about to say, “Uh- this might be a little weird to ask, but, um…” You stutter, why the hell are you stuttering? She’s staring at you with those large espresso-colored eyes that remind you of your job at the moment, and the longer she stares back at you the more your mind races. This woman has your heart doing flips and pounding through your chest, you can barely manage your thoughts and words,
“Yes?”
“Uh, could I take you home?” You finally say, barely managing to make eye contact with her and it’s a humbling experience as your usually leveled (at least you think) demeanor crumbles under the presence of this woman.
“You don’t have to. It’s late and I don’t want to cause you too much trouble, y/n.”
“I’d be much more troubled if I knew you were walking home alone at this time, I insist.”
“Alright then. Let me pay first.”
You pause for a moment and Sana just turns back around, scanning the chips and canned coffee she had in her basket. It’s almost 12:30 now, and a pretty girl is letting you take her home. This wonder of the world is letting your disheveled self take her home.
-
“You have a nice car,” Sana says. She's never had a thing for cars or really knew too much about them. She's only paid attention to Jihyo’s five-seat white Lexus and the black, modified BMW that belonged to her childhood friend Momo. Other cars don't really matter or stand out to her, but Sana’s interest in you grows when she first sees the green Mercedes. Five-seated car looks nice and neat from the outside, for some reason, it really catches her attention. When she sits in the passenger seat she’s hit with the smell of coconut and vanilla. There are two things hung from the internal rearview mirror: One, a small keychain of a koala, and two, a picture of you and Johnny.
Sana can’t help but smile at the picture of you two, you two look happy.
You start the engine and put on your seatbelt before putting the drink you bought in the cup holder. You press on the screen in your car and a slow jazz melody plays. Of course, it had to be a love song.
“I’ve never seen your tattoos up close, they’re really pretty.” Sana suddenly says as you start to move out of where you were parked. Her eyes scan from your upper forearm, where the tattoo started, and down to where it ended just below your wrist, “I only saw a bit of them when you had dropped Hana off the first day.” Sana added.
She wanted to add on about how she also noticed the tattoo just under your knuckles too, and how she found the ink on your skin so endearing. She wanted to tell you all about the things she found attractive about you. From the noticeable things like your bold features to the little things she’s noted in her mind from every meeting. The way you’d always run a hand through your beautiful hair once or twice, the eye contact you couldn’t hold with her, the way you bit the inside of your cheek when you were quiet, the way your fingers often tugged at the beaded bracelet on your hand, how cute it was to watch you say bye to your daughter, and various other little details. Sana wanted to tell you all about those things, but that would be incredibly weird, right?
“Oh, yeah, thank you. I got the tattoo on my forearm a couple of years ago. Hana picked out the butterfly on my hand last year, actually.” You say, looking at the screen of your car as you back up a bit, making sure you don’t hit anything.
“Oh, also, you can type the address on my phone. Here.” You add, handing her the device. Sana types in her address quickly and it pops up on the screen. It’s a quick 4-minute drive, and you both wished it were a bit longer.
The music continues to play softly while you two sit in silence, and it somehow makes the mood a bit more intimate whilst the faint sound of Ella Fitzgerald's voice echoes,
I stand and I wait
For the touch of your hand in the June night
The roses are sighing
A moonlight serenade
Your breath hitches, “Um, you can change the song if you want…” You say embarrassed. Sana shakes her head and mumbles,
“It’s alright. I like it, It’s cute.” She admits, making you blush a bit. You grip the wheel a little tighter as you stop at the red light. The heartfelt lyrics fill the air with a romantic hum, and only the tender melody is heard as you sit together in silence.
The stars are aglow
And tonight how their light sets me dreaming
My love, do you know
That your eyes are like stars brightly beaming?
Sana’s heartbeat skips a little knowing that you listen to such romantic melodies, and she wonders if you love as romantically as such songs. Her mind wanders to the thought of you serenading her in the moonlight, or serenading her in a more domestic setting. The sudden thought of you humming along to these tunes while you cooked or cleaned allowed made her cheeks flush a bit. Jihyo was right: Sana is a hopeless romantic. She’s too far in to get out of the hole of these feelings, and her heart aches a little, the guilt piles up.
You on the other hand are freaking out.
Sana likes your lovey-dovey taste in music, and she seems content (Sana's having a crisis). Maybe you do have a chance with this woman, I mean, she’s already in your car and letting you take her home. Maybe you can do this again, maybe you can listen to songs like this together in a more intimate setting rather than your car, and maybe you can do more than just listen to Ella Fitzgerald together. All the maybe’s in your head are cut short as you reach her place and park in front of her apartment complex.
“We’re here.” You mutter, and you wish you weren’t.
Sana nods and reaches for the eco-friendly bag she had set down, unbuckles her seatbelt, then turns so that her eyes stare into yours with a new intensity. She puts her left hand on your right hand that had been gripping the gear shift ever so gently, your jaw tenses a bit and your left hand that had been on the wheel tightens its hold once more. She looks from your eyes to your lips, then back to your eyes again. Your heart is suddenly an acrobat the way it's doing so many flips.
“Thank you again, I appreciate it.” She says, and her other hand is on the handle of the door, ready to get out, but she doesn’t.
“Anytime, I didn’t want you to be out alone at this time.” you wonder how that sentence leaves your mouth so calmly because your heart is beating at least two hundred times per minute.
Sana’s lips curve into a smile again and you relax a bit,
“Well,” Sana starts, and she opens the door, “I’ll see you soon?”
“I’m picking up Hana on Monday.”
“Great. See you then, y/n.” She finally says, turning away and getting out of the car. You two look at each other again and your eye contact lingers a bit before she finally closes the door, waves, and turns to head inside the apartment complex.
The music continues to play, and your heart longs for her once again.
I stand at your gate
And I sing you a song in the moonlight
A love song, my darling
A moonlight serenade
-
A week passes after this encounter, and Sana is currently giving the kids an announcement that might have them jumping off the walls.
“Alright everyone in your seats please.” She says kindly. The students listen to her and shuffle to their seats, some chatter being shared as they do so. Sana claps her hands in a pattern to bring the students’ attention to her, and they clap their hands the same way that she had, quieting down in the process.
“Alright everyone, before I make this announcement, I need everyone to behave and not get too rowdy, okay?”
“Yes Ms. Minatozaki!” The class answers enthusiastically. Sana nods and smiles at them,
“Alright. So, there’s a special trip that is planned for you all next week.” She begins. The kids' faces start to light up after hearing the words “special trip” and almost all of them are itching to get more details on it. Sana’s face seems to light up with theirs from just looking at the excitement on their faces, so she continues,
“Next Wednesday we will be spending the day at the art museum downtown. There are going to be multiple people guiding you throughout the museum, and you’ll be able to learn about the art.” Sana explains, “And, at the end of the trip we’ll all meet back at a special room where you can paint along with an instructor.”
The kids’ smiles grow even wider, some are whispering to each other while others continue to keep their attention on the young teacher.
“Now, I also wanted to add that we will be needing some chaperones to help look after the class. I have some papers that I’ll give to you, make sure you show them to your mom, dad, or guardian. If they’d like to tag along to help out that would be great, and highly encouraged.” Sana says, pulling out a pile of papers from her desk, she begins to pass around said forms.
-
An hour passes and it’s free choice time. Hana walks up to the young teacher with the form that Sana had previously handed out. Sana smiles at the young girl and tilts her head,
“What is it, Hana? Is everything okay?” The young teacher questions,
“Um, Ms… What does guardian mean? You said mom, dad, and guardian earlier. Does that mean grown up?” Hana asks, and she looks at the paper as if her five-year-old self can read the whole thing with ease,
“I guess so. It’s an adult who takes care of you.” Sana explains to the girl. The girl hums to herself and furrows her brows,
“Does that mean y/n can come?”
“Of course, she’s your mom isn’t she?” Sana asks, and she’s confused as to why the girl looks up at her in surprise,
“My mom?”
“Yes… She’s your mom, no?”
“Ms. Minatozaki, Y/n is my aunt.”
Sana’s whole world stops for a moment. Y/n is her aunt?
“So your dad and her are…?”
“Y/n is my papa’s younger sister, she always jokes about him being so old,” Hana says, laughing to herself.
Sana genuinely stops functioning as she processes this new information: You’re not taken. Fireworks set off in her heart and confetti seems to pop: you’re not her mom. All the guilt that had been on her shoulders from thinking she was infatuated with a taken mother is gone, and it all makes sense now. Sana wonders how stupid she could’ve been, I mean, you and Hana’s dad had similar features, face shape, hair texture, and color. The young teacher had also realized that Hana only called you by your name, and not “mommy” or “mom” or anything like that; how could she have been so stupid?
“Ms. Minatozaki?”
“Oh, yeah, yes Hana. Y/n can come, of course, she can.” Sana says, and she really hopes you do come. Hana smiles and looks back at her paper before talking to her teacher again,
“You know, my aunt, she asks about you a lot.”
“She does?” Sana says, her heart skips a beat. Hana nods and looks back up at the teacher,
“She always asks about how school was, but she always ends up asking more about you and how you were during the day.” Sana’s eyes widen and she looks at the young girl in front of her, exposing you for being so interested in her.
The flame in her heart grows bigger, and it seems that the flame has no intention of dying down now that she knows you’re not Hana’s mother. Hana turns around and makes her way back to her desk to color after seeing that Sana wasn’t capable of responding again, and Sana doesn't even notice. Hana sits down unbothered, not knowing that she just turned Sana’s whole mood around, not knowing that this new piece of information will have her daydreaming the rest of the day – no, the rest of the week – maybe the rest of the month.
-
The school day comes to an end and the usual routine occurs: bell rings, kids scream, talk, and practically leap out of their seats to get in line to go to the entrance of the building. Sana waits with her usual group of eight, which includes Hana, and she hopes that today would be the day that you decided to pick her up. You had already picked Hana up on Monday, but now it’s Wednesday and those are the days that Hana’s dad would usually pick the little girl up, great.
-
Forty minutes pass and Sana sits down at the main office with Hana, no one had come to pick her up yet. Hana seems to be unbothered by this as she colors and draws on the sheet of paper that Sana had given her to cure her boredom, but she worries slightly since Jihyo still waits for her in the front.
Sana texts Jihyo a string of apologies and explanations and before she reads the instant reply, the sound of heavy breaths are heard as a familiar face enters the room, looking around all worried until her body relaxes when she sees her niece.
Y/n lets out a sigh of relief seeing Hana sitting down, coloring as if there wasn’t a single problem in the world. Her look shifts over to Sana, who is already looking at her. Their eyes meet and it makes the two women smile at one another.
“Hana,” your voice makes the little girl turn her head. She smiles and runs up to hug you, leaving her art on the desk,
“Aunt y/n!” And this is the first time Sana hears the little girl actually call you her aunt, she wishes that she would’ve called you aunt earlier (it would've saved her sleepless nights of wondering what the hell to do with her feelings, but at least she knows now).
You hug the little girl back and swipe away the strands of hair on her face, “Hi little one. Your dad had something come up at work, I rushed over as soon as my shift ended.” You explain. You turn back to share eye contact with the young teacher, eyes narrowing and lips curving upwards as you smile at her, “Thank you for watching her, I’m sorry for being so late.”
“It’s all right, really.” It’s more than all right, Sana thinks.
You grin again and turn your attention back to your niece, “Ready to go?”
“Yup!”
“Okay little one, come on.” and you crouch down to let her wrap around your shoulders, letting her piggyback ride you. You grab the art that your niece had made on the table and finally stand in front of Sana, thanking her.
“I’m sorry again, thank you so much.”
“It’s no problem, it’s nice to see you again,” Sana admits, a bit shyly too. The grin that’s already present on your lips grows and you wave to the shorter woman,
“I’ll see you.” You finally say, waving with your free hand and turning your head to the little one, “Let’s get going, your dad will be back by dinner.” You mutter, and Hana hums tiredly in response before you head out the main office doors, taking a quick glance at Sana, smiling again.
Jihyo’s going to lose her mind when I tell her all of this, Sana thinks to herself.

Can you do a dad Matt story but when his daughter is like older (10-13)
Tumblr media Tumblr media
In trouble - Matt Sturniolo x Y/n oneshot
warnings - swearing, kissing, angst, arguing
—————————
12:34pm
"Sure, i'll come pick her up as soon as possible." I put a fake happy tone on my voice as the principle of my 12 daughter Estrella's school tells me i need to come pick her up because she punched a girl in the face.
The principle hangs up the phone as i sigh, tapping my pen twice before grabbing my papers and stacking them on my computer, i worked in an office as a journalist, luckily i already have what i need for my new article im producing.
"Leaving already?" My best friend at the office, Cassidy, asks me.
I nod, "Estrella." I say.
Her eyes widen, "Again? She's been getting in trouble a lot lately, she doing okay?" Cassidy takes a sip of her coffee as she asks.
I shrug, "I honestly don't know. Matt's been working a lot lately, he’s barely home lately and every time he's home we argue, which is probably why she's been acting up. It's not like i have time to punish her with work. And she seems perfectly okay with me taking her phone away, she stays in her room." I rant, i let out a huff.
"Alright, i gotta go, bye Cass." I smile.
"Bye babe, let me know how it goes." She smiles back at me.
—————————
12:48pm
I walk in the schools office, seeing Estrella looking down as she holds an ice pack on her right hand knuckles. I then walk in the principles office.
"Mrs. Sturniolo! Please, have a seat." Ms. Patterson, the principle offers.
I smile, "Hi, uh thanks.." I clear my throat as i take a seat.
Ms. Patterson flashes a smile at me, "So you know why you're here, we spoke on the phone, but i just wanted to give you a run down of what Estrella told me, if that's okay with you?" Ms. Patterson asks as she picks up a paper with notes on it.
I let out a breath and nod.
Ms. Patterson clears her throat, "Right, so when Estrella punched Gia, she said it was because she made fun of her for being stupid, which is obviously not okay, and should've never happened but at this school we do not respond in violence, and this has been the third offense in three weeks with something physical, i'm sorry to say but next time Estrella is looking at suspension or even expulsion." Ms. Patterson tells me.
I sigh and rub my forehead, "But this girl gia, she came at my daughters intellect, shouldn't that have been addressed?" I defend Ella.
Ms. Patterson nods, "Of course, and it was-"
"Was it? Does Gia also have a week of detention like my daughter or..." I trail off, waiting for the principle to speak.
Ms. Patterson lets out a dry cough but shakes her head. "Uh.. no, the insult was overruled once Estrella put her hands on Gia."
I nod, "Right, but if Estrella didn't start a fight, then the teachers would have never known about Gia insulting her, am i right?"
Ms. Patterson furrows her eyebrows, "I'm sorry, Mrs. Sturniolo. I'm not following."
I shrug, "Would Gia have gotten in trouble in the first place for insulting my daughter if Estrella didn't react the way she did or would it have just been ruled off?"
"Uh- well i'm sure a teacher would have heard Gia say some-"
I cut Ms. Patterson off, "And if a teacher didn't?" I ask.
Ms. Patterson stays silent.
"Yeah, right. My daughter would have been screwed either way, sorry but we are done here. Thank you for trying but i am always going to defend my daughter. I do apologize and i hope Gia's nose gets better." I say, standing up and leaving the room.
As i leave the office i see Estrella look up at me.
"Not a word and in the car, now." I demand, pointing at her to walk first.
Estrella goes to speak, "Bu-"
I cut her off, "Not a word."
—————————
1:12pm
We walk in the house and Ella takes off her shoes, she then goes to walk upstairs.
"Where do you think you're going? I've let it slide the past two times because i've been busy but lucky you i finished all my work today so we are going to have a nice long chat. Sit down, Estrella." I cross my arms as i look at her.
She looks at me and stands on the second stair, not moving.
"Estrella Leylani Sturniolo!" I yell.
Estrella jumps as i raise my voice, i was never the parent to yell at her, so that must of scared her.
I clear my throat, "Please sit down, Estrella." My tone lowering as she comes and sits down on the couch.
"You wanna tell me what's going on?" I ask as i stand in front of her.
She shrugs and bites her nails, habit she got from Matt.
"You're going to speak to me." I say but she stays silent. "Now!" I yell.
"Mom, what!?" She yells at me.
I bite my lip and nod, letting out a scoff.
"What's going on with you? Punching a girl in the face? This is your third physical altercation in three weeks! You're going to get expelled, Ella! Do you even care anymore!? You've gotten in more trouble in school then your father and I ever have!" I tell her.
"No, I don't care! I hate school and i hope every time Gia gets a bloody nose she thinks of me!" Estrella uncrosses her arms.
I let out a huff, "Just wait until i call your father. I was gonna give you a chance to explain yourself but you ruined it."
"Go ahead call dad! Maybe he'll actually come home for once!" Estrella stands up now.
I groan in frustration, "God, ella, what are you talking about?!" I scoff.
"Dad is barely home! And when he is all you guys do is argue! I- i thought maybe that if i got in trouble you guys would stop arguing a-and he would come home- and we could be a family again but clearly that's not gonna happen so forget it." Estrella says, running upstairs, i hear her door slam shut.
I sniffle and wipes my eyes, taking my phone out of my pocket and calling Matt.
The phone rings three times before he answers, "Hey, y/n. I'm kind of busy right now can i call you lat-"
I cut him off, "It's Ella. Can you come home, please?" My voice cracks.
"W-what? What's wrong? Is she okay?" Matt asks.
"C-can you just come home?" I ask, my voice evident that i'm on the verge of tears.
"Okay, i'm on my way, baby. Take breaths for me, sweetheart." He says softly, the most civil we've been in a while.
I take a breath like Matt said. "Okay, I love you." I say, almost in a whisper. The last time we said i love you was like two weeks ago.
I hear Matt chuckle, "I love you too, baby. Forever and always." Matt says before hanging up, presumably on his way now.
—————————
1:38pm
I was pacing in the living room, picking at my earlobe as i think of every time i went wrong.
The front door opens and i see Matt walk in, he was wearing a black t shirt, black jean jacket and black cargos.
“What took you so long?” I snap, probably shouldn’t have been my first move.
“Accident on the highway.” He replies, now taking his shoes off and setting his keys down.
“What happened?” He walks towards me.
I give him the write up that Estrella got today.
Matt’s eyebrows furrowed as he reads the paper, him opening his mouth to speak. “Isn’t this her th-”
“-Third time. Yes.” I confirm, nodding as i cross my arms.
Matt lets out a frustrated sigh, handing me back the paper and starting to walk upstairs.
“Matt wait,” I grab his hand.
“Estrella told me the only reason she got in trouble today was because she wanted you to finally come home, and for us to stop arguing.” I tell him.
He looks up at me, his look was upsetting, almost guilty. “What?”
I nod, “She’s been struggling and we haven’t known about it.”
He lets out a breath, him now clearly upset.
“We can call her down here to talk.” I suggest, playing with my fingers.
Matt rubs his stubble and nods, “Okay.”
“Estrella!? Come down here please!” I call out.
I hear her room door open and watch as she walks downstairs. Her eyes flicker between Matt and I and she lets out a huff.
I give her a sad smile, “Sit down, please.” I motion towards the couch.
She looks at me, not moving, like she had done before Matt got home.
“You can listen to your mother, Estrella.” Matt chimes in.
She scratched her head before walking and sitting on the couch, crossing her arms and leaning back.
Matt takes a seat next to her while i stay standing.
“What’s going on, Ella? Mom told me you got in trouble again.” Matt starts, looking at Ella.
Ella bites her lip and shrugs, bringing her nails up to her mouth to bite her nails.
I shake my head, “Tell him what you told me, El.” I say as Matt takes Estrella’s hand out of her mouth.
“You guys argue too much.” Ella says, her eyes flickering over to Matt as she speaks again, “And you’re never home anymore, dad. I miss you. A-and our family.” She says, her voice was quiet but determined to get her point through.
Matt nods, taking in a breath. “Your mother and I are perfectly fine, Ella. We argue yeah, but it’s not anything that deep, we love each other so much, just like we love you so much. And i’ve been working a lot with your uncles, but i can take some time off from now on, would that be okay with you?” He looks at ella, she smiles and nods.
Matt chuckles, “Great. No more getting in trouble, i’m only letting it slide because i know you don’t mean it.” Matt says.
She looks down and nods before Matt brings her into a hug, she hugs back. “Thanks dad..” She whispers against his chest.
He kisses her forehead. “Of course, baby.” He whispers back.
Ella gets up and looks at me, “I’m sorry for being rude, mom.. i don’t mean it, i pinky promise.” She holds her pinky out, i smile, that was a habit she got from me.
I interlock pinkies with her, “It’s okay, my love.” I smile before bringing her in for a hug.
She then goes back upstairs.
Matt stands up and looks at me. “I’m sorry i haven’t been home, and that i’ve been a bad father and husband.” He apologizes.
I shake my head and wrap my arms around his neck, “You’re an amazing husband and an even better father. I argue back all the time too. So as long as we work together we will stop, for ella.”
Matt nods, “For ella.” He then leans in and kisses me.

Summary: You're Gavi's best childhood friend and you go tot he club with him and some of his friends. He made it clear that you are just his friend, but when he sees the attention you start receiving from everyone..his mind changes ;)
Pairing: Pablo Gavi x Reader
Warnings: smutty ;))
Tumblr media
"Ready, pecas?" Pablo was always using that nickname, since we were little niños, because he was always so intrigued by the freckles decorating the bridge of my nose to my cheeks. Anyways, he came to pick me up with his car and we were going out to a newly opened bar in town with a group of his friends.
"Mhm! Vale!" I got in and he certainly checked out my quite short black shorts and a crop top that showed my flat stomach. I always wondered weather he found me attractive but I gave up when I heard him say to his friends when they asked if I was his girl "Imposible! She is like mi hermanita tíos!" which always ruined my mood when I thought about it!
When we arrived, the loud group in front of the door greeted us and all of Pablo's friends (including the taken ones) complimented on my look tonight. I thought Pablo was too busy joking around with Pedri to notice, but little did I know, he heard every word that made him very much angry!
"Damn Gavi! Your amiga is quite a bombon!" Araujo whispered to him and Pablo looked towards you chatting with some girls at the bar shaking his head although secretly thinking the same thing.
Your ass looked so delicious in that tight shorts..and not to mention the braless crop top that was driving him absolutely crazy!
"Bombon? Tu eres loco tío! Ella es tan joven" Pablo said always acting 'tough' cause he was two years older that you..big deal! That didn't mean he could order you about which he always tried to do!
As hours passed, and you had more drinks with your girlfriends, music started to take over your body and you were dancing like there was no tomorrow.
"Es caliente!!" Rafa smirked whispering into Pablo's ear knowing that would annoy him especially when you were dancing with your ass glued to another guy who hand his arms around your waist.
"Joder!" Pablo groaned putting his drink down and walking towards you angrily. He grabbed your wrist pulling you away from the guy and he crowd all the way outside where was freezing btw.
"Ow! Que haces gilipollas!?" you were angry but still so cute when you tried to yell at him especially being so short and adorable regardless of your mood.
"You're drinking anything people give you! And you are grinding your ass against some fucking stranger!? What are you doing pecas!?" he was angry as well as he let go off your arm but still not letting you go back inside.
"Que es un problema!? You're not mi novio Gavi! I can drink what I want and I can dance with whoever I want!" you spat and now he was even angrier clenching his jaw repeatedly. He wishes he was your novio and could teach you a lesson right now..
"But I brought you here which means I am responsible to make sure you're safe pecas!" he said and to that you smirked feeling quite confident tonight (probably from the alcohol) as you moved closer to him rubbing up and down his strong biceps.
"Are you sure that's the problem here Pablito?" you said teasingly and he was fighting back an urge to throw you in the backset of his Maserati and show you just what his problem was at the moment. But then he reminded himself that you were his best friend, that he doesn't want to lose you and therefore couldn't mess up your life.
"Vamos, I'm taking you home.." he said but you were definitely not about to do that especially when you were having such a blast tonight. You pulled away from his grasp and he groaned in annoyance.
"If you don't want to honestly tell me what the problem is then I won't do what you say! Capullo!" you winked walked back inside while he groaned running his hand through his hair before getting inside himself re-joining his friends while you continued to dance on your own this time.
"Why don't you just admit you want her tío? Es obvio!" Pedri bugged him but when Pablo saw that you were kissing someone and walking outside with him the heat in his veins intensified from anger.
"Es demasiado tarde.." Pablo sighed walking out this time determined to take you home even if he was to carry you into the car himself. He was done with this party and he was especially done watching you with other people!
As he looked around for you, he found the same guy from the inside sitting on the hood of his car while you stood in between his legs kissing his lips.
"Gilipollas! Tienes tu culo en mi coche!" he said and the guy looked at him with big eyes of course recognizing him from the Camp Nou pitch while ungluing his hands from your waist.
"Pablo Gavi..I'm so sorry tío" he said walking away from you which made you angry as you looked at Pablo who watched as he left before finally looking back down at you.
"Stop scaring away everyone who comes near me!" you said and he walked closer until your thighs his his car and you sat on the hood looking up into his dark eyes once more. He was no longer your sweet and protective friend Pablo..no..he was angry..and lustful in this moment.
"Que haces?" you say when he slowly touched your thighs opening them up and standing in between them while tucking a strand of your hair behind your ear.
"You said you wanted to know what my problem is..honestly?" he said moving even closer as his hands rested on my thighs and his nose was touching mine.
"S..si" your voice was shaking and your cheeks were bright red while looking into his dark eyes longingly.
"I don't mind you wearing something that makes your ass be the sole focus of the night..but I do mind that I can't grab it and make todos los gilipollas see that it's mine.." he started and you felt goosebumps appear on your skin while his cold fingers traced your thigh and his nose moved against yours.
"I don't mind your dirty dance but as long as it's against me.." he whispered into your ear licking it after wards and you couldn't help the moan that left your lips in response.
"And I don't mind that you want to make-out on top of my car..but I want you to do it only with me!" he whispered into your other ear licking it again before his large hand grabbed your neck and pulled you close kissing your lips feverishly which made you moan into his mouth as you kissed passionately.
"Pecas.." he whispered against your lips after pulling away and you smiled opening your eyes and snaking your arms around his neck while playing with the end of his hair.
"Take me home amor.." you smiled snaking your legs around his waist with a shy smile and he smirked kissing your lips again knowing that he finally got what he craved for such a long time...;))

Flour covers the countertop in your kitchen, and a rolling pin is set to the side while you knead the soft pastry ingredients together. Apples sit freshly peeled in a separate dish. Sliced and added to sugar and cinnamon. Picking up the rolling pin, you do your best to flatten the dough to a thin sheet and mold it to the glass dish before you.
“Well, this dough is much better than the first,” you say aloud to yourself. Your husband once told you that speaking out loud to yourself was a sign of a weak mind, you never put much stock in that. But here you were doing exactly that as your days consist of waiting for your husband to return home from work.
You splash a bit of vanilla into the apple mixture to complete your pie filling. Once it is all tucked neatly beneath the fluffy dough, you take a knife and leave four little holes within the surface and crimp the edges together, sealing the flavors within. A touch of sugar is added to the top along with an egg wash before placing the pie on a rack in the oven. A timer is set for twenty minutes, a reminder to lower the temperature and to add your special ingredient.
Soft music plays throughout the house, Billie Holiday and Ella Fitzgerald keep you company on these long lonely days. Lonely but only for such a short time. Your husband works for the state doing something he thinks you're too dumb to understand so why talk about it? If anyone ever asks you simply say ‘Oh please you think a woman wants to know such things’. That usually earns you a laugh at cocktail parties and a warm smile from your man. If you could even call him that.
Yes, he is your man in the sense that your last names are the same and you had shared the same bed. Where is the love though? It isn’t tangible and hasn’t been for quite some time now. Your day begins and ends with a few words apart from an I love you. You served him still, acted to the prying eyes, as a doting Wife. Four years and Everyone still thought you had a perfect life.
That dream of white picket fences and shared milkshakes. That love of never-ending kisses and satisfying sex. Everyone around you wanted all that you had. Would they still want your life if they could see past those closed doors and shut curtains?
Would they want to spend their mornings hiding the bags under their eyes from nights of restless sleep? Would they want to have a constant monologue of the flaws seen in the mirror? Ones that your oh-so-loving husband pointed out to you time and time again. Would they want to cook and clean knowing they would never receive a thank you? No, you knew they wouldn’t. All the small things that build and grow until it becomes a monotonous routine. Walking through days as if the next would be the exact same and then doing it all again and again, Until one day something changed.
Two months prior A knock on the door, one that started to come once a week. The company of CC & Drums Dairy was paid to bring you a gallon of milk, A necessity your husband called it. A man with long dark locks that flowed over his shoulder and curls that dipped across his forehead under his cap. Deep Brown eyes that sparkled with flecks of amber as the sun hit him just right. Dressed in white overalls to comply with his company uniform and sleek black shoes that shine just as brightly as his smile. His name tag reads Eddie in a sweet embroidered cursive. Eddie, a name that would soon become something you would never forget.
Your timer goes off as you check the pie, squeezing a lemon over the crust for that citrus tang. Slipping the dessert back into the oven, for another half hour or so, a knock sounds through the house, sending the butterflies in your stomach in a tizzy. Eddie had arrived.
A quick task of undoing the strings to your apron and a fast fix of hair in the mirror you had hung in the hall. A hand to your abdomen as you intake a breath and let it stagger out between your lips, hesitating to open the door. The second you see him you can feel the way the tops of your cheeks heat and plump with a smile. One that matches his.
You take a second and wonder if he knows how handsome he is. The way the small lines beside his eyes crinkle with years of use. You wonder if he knows that the instant you see him, your heart stops beating. But most of all you wonder if you're the only one those soft eyes and long lashes catch in his gaze.
“Afternoon darling, I must say this heat wave has got to be breaking records. Ought not keep these out here too long.” as he lifts the small crate of glass bottles holding the product out.
You knew better than to take it from him, even if every bone in your body screamed too. The last time you tried you nearly flipped the whole crate, underestimating the weight. From that day on you always stood to the side as you let Eddie into your home to set the dairy in your kitchen. It was another thing you wondered about him. Did he do this for everyone else too?
“ Well let's not keep them then sir.” standing to the side he slides past you brushing a hand across the elbow you held to the door. His way of saying hello. Small touches here and there as he could never keep his hands to himself for too long in your presence.
“ Something smells awful delicious in her ma’am.”
“An Apple pie is in the oven, maybe you’ll stay and have a slice. For your troubles of course.”
“Mhmm, my troubles.” Eddie sat the crate on the counter next to the ice box and turned his body towards you and enveloped you in his stronghold. An intoxicating embrace as he pulled you flush to his body.
“ I missed you, you know that pretty girl?” soft tone, almost a whisper. A small smile he couldn't see but could feel made its way to your face.
“I bet you say that to all the girls on your route.” he lets out a small chuckle.
“Only the breathtaking ones.” a falter to your features as your mind reeled with all the possibilities.
Does he miss Mrs.Cunningham the way he misses you? Does he miss Ms.Buckley the same? That sick green monster finds its way under your skin as you think of all the girls he must have at his beck and call. But today that monster wasn’t going to ruin the few fleeting moments you could spend with him. You needed Eddie in the most carnal of ways.
“Do you want to know what I missed? “ Your fingers trail their way from the small of his back and up over his shoulder, landing on his neck just below his ear. Cupping his face you bring it down and catch his lips as they meet yours.
“Oh yeah? you missed me too Pumpkin?” a second crash of your lips to his, makes him hum from the back of his throat. His nose nudges yours to the left so his teeth can catch your bottom lip, pulling back slightly to hear the small whine you emit.
“I always miss you, Eddie.”  His hands travel down over your figure as he starts to ruffle the hem of your dress up. Thankful for its length to hide how wet you had become just from him being in the home you share with your spouse. A topic you and Eddie tried to steer clear of, but the wrongness of the act just felt so right.
Over a year your husband hadn’t touched you, barely talked to you and some days you were even sure he hadn't even looked in your direction. Eddie though, In the last two months, Eddie had made you feel seen. He made you feel heard, and most of all he made you feel desired.
As his hand finds the thin cotton that covers your cunt he glides his digits over the wet patch that had grown by just the thought of him. A deep hum and a small huff of breath from Eddie against your neck as he kissed his way to your shoulder.
“So wet for me and I've barely even touched you. Are you that starved for affection?” The words forming in that sweet small surrender to him were all but cut off as he slid a finger through your folds and teased your entrance. A gasp was the response he got, one he loved to hear in protest every time he had you.
“C’mon honey tell me what you want.” how could you respond to him with words if you couldn't even think of them? The man before you had spent the last few months discovering just how to make you melt in his arms.
He knew that the spot behind your knee was his best friend for when he had you on your back. He knew the way your hips stutter when you're close to your peak, and he knew that if your eyes found that they couldn't stay open that you were in utter bliss.
His favorite thing he had learned throughout your time together though was that even when he knew you had your doubts, you still trusted him in every sense of the word.
After only two months Eddie knew you better than you know yourself. Better than your husband had ever cared to know you.
“ Please, Eddie.” He smiled down at you
“ Please What Honey?”
“ Dip in Eddie, Fuck me please.”  He could feel the slackening of your legs as his assault on your clit had made you a bit sensitive, in his focus on making you feel as good as he possibly could, in what little time he had with you. He slid two of his thick fingers into your dripping heat as his thumb stayed in a rhythm that matched his wrist as he curled in and let the sounds of his efforts echo off the small kitchen walls.
Moaning into Eddie's ear as his finger worked in and out of you making that heat inside of you grow higher and higher. Clutching the strap of his overalls, a small pull leaning back, as the pleasure he was giving you kept climbing.
“ Come on now baby, let go.” A final intake of air, hold on to the breath that led you to your walls squeezing eddies fingers tight. That coil snapped as you let your body fall slack against him a loud moan from the farthest depths within you found its way out of your lungs.
When your eyes land on Eddie after your come down all you can see is that smile. The dimple-creasing smile that kept haunting your dreams at night.
“I need more.” You didn’t know how but his smile grew even wider and more sinister as his tone began to deepen. A kiss is pressed to your lips, not urgent, understanding.
“ You need more? Well, it's a damn good thing that what you're asking for is in stock then Pumpkin.” He turned you around to face the small table that sat in your kitchen, knowing what he wanted from you. He wasn’t the only one taking notes from your time together.
You braced yourself against the worn wood and clutched the sides of it as you heard the familiar clinks of metal as his rings fumbled with the buckle of his belt.
The wait, though it is small, is brutal. Anticipation makes your stomach flip and cunt flutter. A shuffle out of his overalls gives Eddie a moment to just admire the way you listen so well. These small moments have him thanking every bad decision that got him here. To this small town, with this small job, on this small route. A route he picked up as a last resort. Yeah, he doesn't know who he's praying to but whoever is listening, he's singing grace.
A grip in the slight pudge of your hips to keep himself steady, Eddie is gentle as he slips his cock through your folds gathering your slick over his length and breaching your desire. A deep moan and a few choice words fall from Eddie as he fills you and meets the small wavering gasp you let out, a breath you didn't know you had been holding.  A whine of impatience, his sign to move.
A soft speed turns ravenous as his dick uses your walls to curve his hooks into you deeper and deeper. A sigh of his name and you can feel the stutter in his thrust. He slows his pace if only to keep himself from having to leave your presence all too soon.
"Fuck darling, so good to me, taking me so well like this pussy was made for me."  You mewl from beneath him, dropping your forehead to the wood that is holding you up. You fear that if it had not been here your legs would have given up the second he started talking. "Isn't that right pumpkin? Made just for me? " A sharp thrust and you know he wants an answer in the way his grip turns bruising. A trip through your mind as you try and collect the words from thin air.
"YES! God yes, I was made just for you."
"Such a good girl for me baby. That's right, isn't it? You're all mine aren't you?"  Another squeeze to your hip and a smack that lands hard on your ass. Eddie's palm kneads the sting as you answer him.
" All yours, all yours, no one else, just you baby." A grunt hum from the back of his throat as he grips your shoulder and leans so his body is flush with yours. His breath is on your neck as he leans to your ear.
"Not even your husband, just you and me baby?"
"Just you and me Ed's" Your eyes tunnel and you see white as your orgasm rushes through you, Eddie's own a thrust away as he moans deep against your skin. His body weight and yours against the kitchen table as you both find your way down from the clouds.
Small kisses he leaves to your spine and the back of your neck. You turn your head and he places another small one to the upturned corner of your mouth. A bell chimes and you sit for a few seconds letting Eddie gather his own bearings. A small pat to the curve of your pussy as Eddie pulls the cotton back in place. A shock to your sensitivity.
"Keep that in there baby, that way you have a part of me while I'm gone." A heat to your cheeks as the thought of Eddie's cum dripping out of you while your husband sat across from you and read the paper over dinner. A sly smirk from the man you just let defile the small space, one you would let do ungodly things to you.
You put on oven mitts as Eddie finds a few glasses in the cabinet. You slice into the flakey crust and slip through the filling as you place the large piece on a plate for you to share. Eddie pours milk as you find some silverware, he places the bottles in your fridge so they keep.
Turning with a smile, he is the definition of adoration. In your eyes he is everything.
Why is it that when his time with you is coming to an end you almost wish it would end as soon as possible? Almost as if you would wish he would part with some harsh words to make you not want him in the most beautiful ways. You have to make yourself believe these things before he leaves because if you don’t, it would just shatter you. So you take a different route, you don’t shatter yourself, instead, you splinter and crack all the things that hold you until you see him again. The times where he glues those little shards back in place if only for you to break them off again and again. A scared thought and a small shake of your head trying to rid yourself of it. A married woman. What would he possibly want from you other than a good lay?
He sees that doubt within your mind as if reading it. He takes your hand in his as he laces your fingers together.
“ Penny for your thoughts Pumpkin?” You glance finally meeting his eyes as you clear your throat.
“ Nothing important hun.” You slide a fork to his side of the table as your eyes dart to the clock.  He squeezes your hand once more, lowering his eyes in search of yours again.
“It is important if it bothers you.” Your heart stops. The breath you were going to take gets caught in your throat and you turn on that winning smile you had trained yourself to hold in uncomfortable circumstances. One you wish he couldn't see through.
“ It’s nothing Eds, really.”
“Do you promise?” you take a hand and cup his cheek.
How do you tell him that he is your first thought in the morning and the last thought before falling asleep? How instead of counting sheep you try and count the freckles on his face by sheer memory?  How could you tell him you wish you were his one and only? That you have never felt about another human soul the way you feel about his. Instead, you stuff it down, apple pie soon to follow.
“I Promise.”
You know he doesn’t believe you but he would rather set out to sea and die of starvation as the sharks feed from him than to make the last moments he has with you tainted with fights and tears. God when you cry it absolutely destroys him.
The first time you had ever let him take you in his arms you had just gotten off the phone with your husband. He had heard hushed words while he waited for you to grab the weekly tip your husband left for him. Your husband had informed you that he would not be coming home, as the fight from the night before had lingered into the morning and would now follow you well into the night. The first time you had opened the door Eddie studied the angelic features of your face, and they had plagued his dreams for such a long time at this point.
When you rounded the corner with a smudge of mascara beneath your eyes, he instantly without thinking took you in, pushing your face to his chest as his hand rested on the back of your head. Slight comfort made the tears begin again as he wiped the remainder of the smudge and irritation from your face. No man had ever done something as small as comforting you before.  In the two months since he had started this route, he knew he had instantly fallen head over heels in love with you.
You had taken two bites from the plate that sat in front of you and Eddie had finished the slice. He even went as far as to slide a finger in the crumbs on the plate and lick them off in an attempt to show you how much he had enjoyed it. His time with you.
A gathering of glasses you brought to the sink as he brought the other dishes and sat them in the deep well while wrapping his arms around your waist and you stood eyes closed relishing in the last little bit of affection he could offer to you.
A kiss to your shoulder as you turn your head resting it on his.
“I’ll be by in a week Pumpkin.” A nod to the fact you already knew. “ Seven days.” Another nod, not risking the crumble in your voice. “ Not long at all.”  Another small kiss to your cheek as you turned into his chest and rested your forehead on his.
“Seven days?”
“ Seven days Pumpkin. Do you think you can wait for me? Just seven days? “
“I think I could wait a lifetime for you Eddie.”
“I’ll see you in a week, Mrs.Carver.”
“ A week Mr.Munson.”
A kiss to your lips and a parting gift of his very own pie before he snuck out through the back door, so as to not raise suspicion. A slow walk from the kitchen to the door and to turn a lock, on your mind. On your hope. You could do this. You could wait seven days.
Tumblr media
Your husband comes through the door late as he had been doing for the last year or so. You had expected it from him at this point. You had started to make his dinner later and later knowing that if you had made it too early he would tell you all the ways he couldn't eat it. If it had gone too cold he would refuse and the hard work would go directly into the trash.
He walked in as you took his dinner off the stove and placed it on a dish for him.
“Right on time doll.”
“ I don’t know how on time it is, It’s Nearly eight in the evening, Jason!”
“ I’m not doing this with you tonight.”
He always did this. He would come home and you would ask him where he had been, and he’d always end the conversation before it could even begin. You sat his plate in front of him as you sat across the table from him. Times where you could really take him in and see that the feelings you had once long ago were snuffed out like a flame to a candle.
“ Are you not eating dear?”
“ I ate a bit earlier in the day.”
“Thanks for waiting .”  He rolled his eyes and you returned the gesture.
“ I wouldn’t have had to wait if you had just picked up the phone and told me when you were going to be on your way home. I’m not waiting until we hit a new day to eat Jason I’m not going hungry just so you-”
“ Wouldn’t harm you any though would it.”
You left the table. Your weight had started to become a key focus as he knew it bothered you more than anything else. You had gained some weight and your mother and friends had commented on it from time to time. For your husband to tho, it made you furious. You ate when you were unhappy, it was something you had done since you were a child. The only person who thought you could stand to eat a little more had been Eddie.
It happened slowly, you would make him food now and then, and the majority of the time He would offer you a bit. It started with a bite and progressed into cutting his sandwiches in half just so you could have something to eat. Unlike your husband, Eddie had a suspicion that you weren’t eating enough. Like you weren’t giving your body what it needed to survive so he would constantly ask for you to eat with him. At least then he would know you had something of substance within your day.
You had gone to your bedroom and gotten out of your daily’s slowly separating them into their hampers waiting to hear the stomping footsteps of Jason as he made his way to the spare bedroom. He had taken residency there about a month before Eddie came into your life and you were thankful for the times that Eddie left you yearning for more. To call out another man's name while with your significant other no matter how insignificant they were would still bring you shame like no other.
Slipping into your nightgown as Jason shuts the door to his room you wait a few minutes to take the walk back down the stairs to stand in front of the sink. Looking up at the sky through the window above the stars seem to shine brightly. You attempt to find the little dipper and look for its companion not far from where it lays, the version of a larger size. Constellations begin to blur as you let the silent tears fall. Hoping that somewhere out there in this little old town, Eddie too is looking up at the moon and wishing you were by his side as you wished upon all the stars in the sky. What a long time seven days would be.

i don't see what anyone can see in anyone else (but you)
lotte wubben-moy x reader
w/c: ~600
leah tries to set you up with girl, after girl- only to find out you've been in love lotte forever- oh and you're married
a/n: every time i hear anyone else but you by the moldy peaches i think of lotte😭
this is shorter than i would've liked but i think it ended perfectly
----------------------------------------------------------
“I just don’t get it- every time I try to set you up, you always say no, and it’s always some stupid reason, honestly it’s like you want to be alone.”
You laugh at Leah’s ridiculousness- the girl has draped herself over you, bugging you the umpteenth time about your dating life.
“Leah I’m perfectly fine not going on dates with the people you try to set me up with.”
“But I’m trying to help you! You’re so lonely it makes me sad.”
Leah wipes away a fake tear- placing her hand over her heart, you roll your eyes in return- shoving her off your lap.
“Ouch… first off- I’m not lonely, for all you know I could be in a relationship, maybe that’s why I reject your candidates. Second off- I’m not lonely.”
“Are you?!”
Leah looks at you bewildered- mouth hanging open in shock, you stay silent.
“Are you not single?! Answer me!”
-
You have been in love with Lotte since you first met her at 17- I mean how could you not be.
She’s your everything. You’ve been through everything together.
You still remember nervously confessing your feelings one night during the U-17s world cup- you have Alessia and Ella to thank for that- both sick of you dreaming and talking about her, that they locked you in a supply closet until you confessed.
Lotte- stood smiling at you like an idiot the entire time, until you finished rambling, you refused to look at her in the eye, until you felt her hands grab yours.
“May I kiss you now?”
You’ve been together ever since.
Alessia and Tooney opened the door five minutes after that- you and Lotte had agreed to trick the two, with the intention that they would find out eventually. They never did.
And it wasn’t a secret per se- no one asked, so you didn’t tell.
-
You got married at 21- a week after Lotte had proposed to you.
You both decided to have it at a register office- funnily enough Tooney and Alessia were the witnesses, both finally finding out when they caught you out on a date night- before you could even speak, Ella placed her hand over her heart- swearing to secrecy.
-
More people found out after- slowly one, by one- you remember when Georgia found out- screaming at the top of her lungs at the back of the team bus.
Ellie flashed you a grin and a wink- a knowing smile on her face.
A few weeks later, Mary- less composed shoved her phone in your face, a blurry picture of you and Lotte holding hands on it. Demanding a confession.
Katie found out by walking in on the two of you and hasn’t let you live it down since- making kissy faces when your near each other.
All your friends but Leah- who was too focused on finding you someone in the first place she missed the fact that you were already taken.
-
You transferred to Arsenal shortly after you and Lotte got married, and Leah had decided to make you her best friend.
And as her best friend- she had dubbed herself your own personal cupid.
Three years later and still Leah didn’t know- which is surprising as literally everyone knew.
I mean you both proudly wear your wedding rings- taping over them for games.
The only way Leah would notice if you changed your last name and wore ‘Wubben-Moy’ on the back of your jersey.
-
“I can’t believe you’re in a relationship and didn’t tell me.”
“Lee it was so obvious- I mean everyone knows but you.”
Leah huffs at you- arms crossed against her chest.
“At least tell me who it is.”
Lotte chooses this moment to walk into the room- flashing you a grin as she moves to you quickly. She gently cups your cheeks and presses a soft kiss to your lips.
“What?! You’re dating Lotte?! Why didn’t I know!”
In sync, you flash Leah your left hands- matching wedding bands snuggly on your ring fingers.
“YOU’RE MARRIED?!”

For the anon that asked so nicely for a Tooney sneak peek... I hope you're happy with this ❤️ (if not you can hit @valewosomtb with a newspaper roll - she chose Tooney over Less 😉😉)
You entered the room which was officially dubbed the “common get together”-room finding Lucy, Keira, Mary, Less, Tooney, Niamh, Meado and LJ (who you honestly could do without) chilling around. Some of them were lounging on the couch while Tooney, Less and Niamh were placed at the table playing with some Legos. You made a beeline for your two bestest friends as Keira looked up from her book
“No” the blonde just said knowing letting you sit with them would end up in a Lego fight and you'd throw pieces at each other until one got either hurt or cried
“Keira cooooome ooooon” you whined which caused Tooney and Less to look up
“Yeah Keira... cooooome ooooon” Tooney whined too
“Come here Bubs” Lucy said from her place on the couch stretched her hand towards you trying to get you to come over to her “Wanna show you something”
“You can always show it to LJ” you pulled a face and your voice was laced with venom
“Huh?” your sister looked at you confused as you turned around now marching towards Toonie like you were on a mission
“Bitsy” Keira warned you raising her eyebrow in challenge
“I'm just gonna sit here” you said annoyed and the blonde noticed your grumpy mood
“No Lego fights!” the blonde looked at you threating
“Okay mom” the three of you answered simultaneously grinning
Soon after Less got called away by the media team for some... whatever, you didn't pay attention. Tooney and you continued to build on your Lego castle but as usual after like 30 minutes you both got bored
You just looked at each other communicating without words – like always. You both stood up at the same time looking around until your eyes fell on the dart board that was hung up on the other side of the room. Tooney and you tried to be as sneaky as possible as you slandered over to said piece of fun without noticing Keira watching every step you took. Just as you were about to pull the third dart out of the board so Toons and you could play a hand reached over your shoulder taking all darts away
“I told you... no sharp objects” you immediately reconized the voice of one Keira Walsh
“They're not sharp...” you pouted as you turned around to look at her with your best puppy eye look
“No pointy objects either” Keira smiled sweetly and you knew it was fake as fuck
“But... Tooney and I wanted to play” you pouted
“Tooney is banned from pointy objects too” the blonde just said hoping to end this topic
“Tooney is what?” Ella said confused
“The last time you whined for a WEEK that your finger nearly fell off” Keira rolled her eyes “So no darts for you either... find something else”
“Oh yeah.. I forgot about that... it was really close for me finger to fall off” Tooney said as she remembered her last interaction with darts
“Your bloody finger was fine” you exclaimed
“Bloody... that's the word you should emphasize... so much blood” Ella sighed
“Less nearly broke my nose.... THAT was bloody... your finger was just... trickling blood” you said upset
“If you don't stop to one up each other immediately I'm going to put you in different corners of the room” Keira interrupted your “fight”
“Sorry mom” both of you said
“Gosh... can't you two play nicely with each other for once?” the blonde rolled her eyes
“We tried... you wouldn't allow it” you tried to reason with her
“No sharp or pointy objects” Keira said again “Find something else”
You looked over at Tooney who just shrugged her shoulders
“Uh... there's a bowling thing in the basement... can we go bowling? Nothing sharp, nothing pointy” you said excited as Tooney started to beam
“Not without a responsible adult around” Keira said “And I'm not going down there with you”
“Millie and Rach are down there... I think” you said as you tried to convince Kei
“Lucy?” the blonde turned around to your sister
“Yeah?” Lucy looked up from her phone where she (most likely) texted with Ona
“I just spoke english did I?” Keira asked her ex
“Ehrm... yes? Why?” your sister asked confused
“Good... I just thought I switched to spanish without noticing it when I said them two nobbheads won't go bowling in the basement without a responsible adult and Bitsys answer was Millie and Rachel... I just wanted to double check that I in fact did use the english language” the blonde said and you groaned behind her knowing she just shut down your idea
“Oh no... you definitely spoke english” Lucy smirked
“Mary??” you asked hopefully looking at the keeper
“Yeah okay...” the tall brunette rolled her eyes but smiled noneless “I'll take you bowling”
“YES!!” you high fived Tooney “Mary counts as responsible, right?” you checked with Keira
“Yes... Mary counts as responsible” the blonde sighed actually hoping you'd find no body who would go with you so she could keep an eye on you
“Woohoo...” you cheered chasing after Tooney who already was sprinting towards the door
“No running” Mary yelled after you but it was no use as she stood up following the two of you
“I'll give them 20 Minutes” Keira said plopping down next to Lucy on the couch
“Naah... Mearps is good... Bubs respects Mearps.... 30” your sister grinned as she started a timer
32 Minutes later the door of the common room got kicked open and Mary carried you bridal style inside to cross the room with quick strides. Tooney was following after you apologizing profusely while you whined into Marys neck
“32 Minutes and 17 seconds” Lucy looked down on her phone grinning stopping the timer showing it to Keira
“Should we follow or just ignore that something went horribly wrong... as always when these two are left to their own?” the blonde sighed looking expectantly at Lucy
“Naah... she has Mearps with her...” your sister waved off smirking knowing you'll throw an absolute fit once one of the physios wants to touch whatever limp is hurting at the moment.

The Owl and The Lioness - Alessia Russo x Reader
Tumblr media
Summary: Rugby player!R meets Alessia Russo and things go from there.
A/N: This is the fic I made you guys vote on me writing like a week ago. Also does anyone else feel like I'm writing these pretty fast because I have 3 other fics just waiting to be posted and a 4th in progress.
As a rugby player, you can honestly say that you do not spend much time thinking about football.
In all honesty, you can’t say that you’ve spent more than ten minutes thinking about it in the last 10 years, but that’s all about to change today.
Today, you along with the rest of England’s women's national rugby team are at St. George’s Park because apparently, it would look good if the Red Roses were seen supporting the Lionesses and vice versa before your major tournaments.
You’ve never been more uncomfortable than you are right now standing in front of these footballers in your training kit.
The two sets of captains and coaches are currently trying to figure out the best way to go about this faux joint training. They don’t take very long and before you know it, you and your fellow wings Jess, Ellie, and Lydia are standing with their strikers.
“I’m Beth. That’s Bethany, Nikita, and Alessia,” the newly identified Beth says.
“I’m Lydia and that’s Jess, Ellie, and Owl,” Lydia says, smirking as she purposely tries to wind you up by using your nickname.
“It’s Y/N,” you say, barely loud enough to be heard.
“Speak up Owl,” your teammates say at nearly the same time with identical eye rolls.
Taking a deep breath you try again, voice coming out at a normal volume, “My name is Y/N.”
Out of the corner of your eye, you can see Alessia give you a small grin, which you return despite the sound of blood rushing in your ears.
It’s then that the drills start and you find yourself silently showing her the correct way to pass a rugby ball and the correct way to tackle, chuckling softly as she and her three teammates struggle to bring you down.
In turn, she shows you how to do keepy-ups and how to use your laces to add some power to your shots.
The very last activity of the day is a foot race and it involves most of their team taking on the backs from yours.
“You’re all about to learn why we call her the Owl,” you hear Jess shout from somewhere down the line.
There’s a bit of laughter from your team and even a couple of ‘yeah rights’ from the footballers, but you’re not paying attention to any of that. Your eyes are locked onto the pole at the opposite end of the field, your finish for the race.
All you need is for their coach to blow the whistle and the second she does you’re gone.
Out of the corner of your eye, you can see that at least two of the footballers are slightly ahead of you but you’re not worried about that.
Your only concern is beating your teammates, which you do by a lot.
Upon turning around you see that most of the runners are still a good 15 meters back.
It doesn’t take very long before your teammates are circling you and ruffling your hair though.
“Way to fly Owl,” your captain shouts, hooking her arm around your shoulders, “Really did us proud little rose.”
“Thought I should show that we’re not all big brutes like you, boss,” you respond quietly, a small grin on your face.
She doesn’t find it as funny as you do though taking the opportunity to put you in a headlock.
You struggle against her for a while, not making any progress towards escaping until the coaches call the two teams back in front of them.
Neither of the coaches says anything important, not in your opinion anyway, and they release the two sides to mingle and get ready to go.
Not one for talking with people, you go to gather your stuff and are slightly surprised when a shadow appears above you.
Looking up, you're surprised to see one of the football players standing above you. You recognize her having seen her talking to Alessia earlier.
“Hey Owl, I’m Ella,” she says, “My idiot friend Alessia over there thinks that you’re cute but is too nervous to ask you for your number, so I’m doing it for her.”
“What,” you say confused, “You’re asking me for my number for your friend?”
“Yup.”
Shaking your head, you pull a piece of paper and a pen out of your bag before writing down your number, accompanied by both your name and nickname.
Handing it over, you ask Ella to deliver a message for you, cheeks flush with embarrassment.
“Tell her that I think she’s cute too.”
Over the next few months, you and Alessia spend a considerable amount of time texting and getting to know each other.
When United make their way down to London for games, you take her on dates and show her all of your favorite spots, and the few times your team makes their way to the Manchester area, she does the same.
This of course garners some teasing from your teammates, who have taken to reminding you that most owl species mate for life every time they see you leaving a room to talk to her on the phone.
It’s during one of these phone calls, a facetime to be specific, that her phone gets hijacked by Ella and Mary.
“‘Lo there Owl,” Ella says, accent strong as ever, “I was wondering if you could solve an argument for me.”
“I mean, maybe?”
“Do they call you Owl because you’re fast like a bird or,” Ella’s cut off by Mary snatching the phone away.
“Or because you’re really quiet,” the keeper finishes.
“It’s both,” you answer, “Most owl species can average speeds of 20 mph but they can fly faster in certain situations. The crazy thing is that despite going so fast they make very little noise, virtually silent in fact.
The look on the two players' faces causes you to grin a little because you know exactly why they’re those faces: they’ve never heard you say so many words at once before.
They manage to say as much before Less takes her phone back telling them to  “say bye to Owl.”
You smile a little more as the two others rush off, already arguing about something else.
“What are you doing next month,” she asks when they finally leave the room.
After thinking about it for a moment you answer her, “Season ends this week so probably some recovery work and injury prevention to prepare for the world cup and next season.”
“Do you want to come to some of our matches during the Euros?”
“Do you want me to come to your matches at the Euros,” you ask back, watching as her cheeks flush before she nods, “Well if you want me there, I’ll come.”
A smile breaks out on her face and the two of you continue your conversation.
Although you can’t seem to get a clear answer from her about what she’ll be doing for the rest of the week, which is weird.
You do your best to not focus on it and by the time your championship game comes around you’ve forgotten all about her squirrelly behavior.
Then when the final whistle blows, you’re too caught up in your exhaustion and excitement to even remember anything that happened before the game started.
When the whistle blows, you drop to the ground not having the energy to celebrate winning the game and becoming a champion.
You aren’t sure how long you lay there before your teammates come and dogpile on top of you screaming about your performance.
You then find yourself being hauled to your feet by your scrumhalf, Jane, who immediately pulls you into a hug that takes you off your feet.
The smiles don’t leave any of your faces as you shake your opponents' hands. They don't leave when you get the medals put around your necks or when you raise the trophy or when you approach the crowd that hasn’t stopped screaming since the first whistle.
It’s then that you notice a head of blonde hair and bright blue eyes that you would recognize anywhere.
Rushing to the crowd, you climb the barrier meant to keep fans off the pitch, ignoring the shouts of security, and sprint to the person you’ve been looking forward to seeing for weeks.
Pulling her into a hug, you speak directly into her ear, “You said that you wouldn’t be able to make it.”
“I lied, you played great today, baby. Three tries, congrats champ.”
Your cheeks heat slightly at her praise, so instead of responding, you press a kiss to the top of her head, content to just stand there holding her.
Eventually, she pushes you away, sending you back to celebrate with your team.
“We’ll be switching places at the end of next month,” you tell her before walking away.
And you’re right because, on the last day of July, you’re standing in a sold-out Wembley watching as your girlfriend (recent development) and her idiot friends jump around singing Sweet Caroline.
She eventually makes her way over to where you're sitting with her family in the crowd, climbing to the barrier to get a hug.
“I’m proud of you,” you say directly in her ear, not caring about the number of cameras on you. In your mind, if she cared she wouldn’t have leapt into your arms the way she did, so you continue with your praise of her performance, “You played amazing all tournament, Less.”
“Thank you.”
She pulls away and you can see the cogs turning in her mind, her eyes repeatedly flickering to your lips before she surges forward to kiss you.
You both end up smiling into it as the cheers of the crowd around you get louder at the sight.
Pulling back, you smile at her some more before sending her back to the field to continue celebrating with her team.
Pulling your phone out you send her a text that you know she won’t see until much later tonight.
It reads: I can see the headlines now, England’s Superb Lioness and Their Speedy Owl, An Unexpected Power Couple?

You Might Get What You Want | ROBERT KEATING
Tumblr media
PAIRING: robert keating x original f!character
GENRE: childhood frenemies to lovers
SUMMARY: lucia (luz), nieve ella’s keyboardist, has an estranged history with inhaler—especially with the band’s bassist, bobby. their fiery hatred for eachother rapidly blossoms into something sweet, especially when she learns that he wrote a song about her.
WORDS: 5.8k
WARNINGS: kissing, swearing, alcohol use, mild sexual content
Being Nieve Ella's keyboardist has completely altered the course of my life. Only eight months ago, I was doing my second year of uni, trying to get through a Music course and completely regretting all of my life choices. My favourite part of the day would be getting home and sitting at my piano, writing songs and posting them on Tiktok. Views racked up, followers kept coming in and I think I realised how well everything was going when Laufey commented on my cover of 'Like The Movies'. Then about two weeks later, an email shot through my phone—literally like a bullet to skin. I dropped the rectangular device to the ground mid-lecture, hand on my mouth, teeth in my lip.
Nieve Ella had asked me to join her on tour. With Inhaler.
At first I was laughing, then I was bawling with endless tears of happiness and now I'm on my final show still feeling woozy and adrenaline is banging through my brain. The whole band have become my best friends. And, quite shockingly, me and Inhaler have a weird shared history. I've known them since I was really young. I used to watch their first gigs at tiny venues where they'd run around in the crowd and hardly anyone knew the lyrics. I went to the same school as Bobby, Eli and Ryan who were a bunch of madmen. They'd let me hang out with them backstage or at practice and jam before they finally found a 'proper' keyboardist (Louis). To be honest, I'd always been slightly salty that I never got into the band. But I guess we were never close enough and I could be quite horrible to Bobby — but honestly, he deserved it. He was a whiny, teenage nightmare. Still is. Except he's not a teenager anymore.
Thankfully, Nieve Ella and the band take a train separate to Inhaler. I don't have to hear Bobby's jests 24/7.  Today we're heading to Dublin. The final stop of the Cuts and Bruises tour. It's been a long ride but it's all been worth it. I've had the best time ever. I'm listening to the Strokes, a song Bobby recommended to me a few weeks ago. It's been on my mind ever since and I can't stop hearing the same chords and riffs over and over. Even when my headphones leave my ears. The song is 12:51 and funnily enough Bobby has a tattoo right on his bicep with those exact numbers. The lads gave us a rather enjoyable tattoo tour with reasons for each of their inked designs.
I lay back my head against the cushioned seat.  I like this, I prefer it to what I was doing before. The constant stress, the exams,  the structure. I like the freedom of doing shows and seeing new people and travelling to new places. Never sure what you're in for. Crowd after crowd with all different energies and enthusiasm. The adrenaline rush is the best part of the day but when you wake up the following morning, it's like the life has been sucked out of you. You feel like nothing. Human. A person with legs and arms. Flailing around with no thoughts in your head. A billion times worse than a hangover. Post concert depression.  The lull after such a powerful high. It's nice to go through that hell with a group of friends who all feel the same way. Becomes a strange group therapy.
For the past hour, I've been begging Josh to tell me what is on the set list. I'm praying they'll add some different songs. Older ones. Seeing as it's the last show of the tour. Something to surprise the fans. Maybe 'Falling In' or 'There's No Other Place' or even my favourite 'You Might Get What You Want'. That was one that was written when Rob was the lead singer of the band. When I'd bang the keys in that garage. When we'd sing the lyrics together and sound like an awful church choir. I never got the chance to listen to it live, performed properly by the band. I'm still heartbroken they didn't leave it on the track list for the album. I have to resort to listening to illegal Spotify versions.
I feel like crying everytime I remember this is the last show I might ever do with Inhaler. The last time I might see the lot of them. They'll surely disappear off into the shadows once tour is over, making their next album, cutting off all contact to focus solely on their music. After spending so much time with a group of people, then completely losing them from your life, you just feel so very empty. Like a swimming pool with no water. Or a mug of tea left hollow after spilling it all by accident. Last night — I would never dare to admit this to anyone — I cried for two hours straight into the pillow of my hotel room. Tour is a glorious thing. Fun, exciting, terrifying all at the same time. But the thought of finality is what split me into pieces, broke me up and squeezed tear after tear from my eyes.
Fran keeps looking at me with raised eyebrows like she's about to ask a question. She's scribbling on her set list, making sure she knows exactly what's happening and when. Her earrings twinkle as she tilts her head, her eyeliner sharp and perfect. Her mouth parts the slightest bit to reveal white teeth, a small smile. "You alright there, Luz?"
God, anytime someone asks me that, it makes me want to cry ten times more. I look down the train compartment, stare at the bathroom and decide whether to make my move. Do I run and hide in there for the duration of the trip, two hours of crying into mouldy train toilet paper? Or do I try to brave it and tell her how I feel? Or just lie through gritted teeth? She's good at reading me. She'll know that I'm not telling the truth.
"Don't tell Nieve this but I feel like absolute shite." There it is. I said it. Fire sinks into my skin, blood rushes up to my head. I squeeze my cheek to make sure I am actually sitting here and that I'm not hallucinating. Lack of sleep had made me seem some weird shit. I need caffeine. Quick.
"We all do." Fran puts her hand on top of mine. "Look, one more show, then we can sleep for as long as we want."
"That's the thing. I don't want this to end."
Fran gets up from her seat and swivels around the table. She sits down beside me, arms opening up and embraces me until I think I see stars. No one has ever hugged me so tightly. My bones seem to audibly shift.
"Nieve's doing a few shows in February, remember? And I'm sure next time Inhaler tours, they'll be on their hands and knees begging for us to come back." She strokes my hair. "Although, Bobby might be telling us to bugger off instead. You two need to sort out this drama. It's driving us all mad."
"He started it." I sound like a three-year-old irritated at my brother.
Fran laughs to herself. "Fucking hell. I bet he did."
Arguing. It's happened again. Our last day together has gone to a great start.
First stop of the day—a random restaurant that Ryan dragged us to. Hugs were shared, kind words uttered, teeth glowing under dim lights. I sit down on a wooden chair, peel my jacket from my body and place it on the back. The cool wind is slamming against the windows. I'd forgotten how cold Dublin was. Especially in November. Some Christmas lights adorn the streets and pubs are lively with masses of people. We were stopped a only once on the way there by a group of fans—even our attempt at scuttling through empty alleyways didn't work when five friends with Inhaler-themed cowboy-hats impeded our trail. They were lovely. Photos taken and compliments exchanged. Sadly, Bobby was in a bad mood. When I say a bad mood, I mean a 'I want to kill everyone on this planet and throw myself on a train track' kind of bad mood. He hid away from the fans, behind me and Nieve. His height wasn't particularly helpful in that instant. The blonde, 'Amelie', had said in her thick French accent, "Is that Bobby? I was wondering where he was."
Caught. Found. He thought staying there for a while longer would make them think he wasn't there at all. Amelie was persistent, however, and said softly, "Please could I take a picture with you?"
Her friends all started whispering. Eli was tapping his friend on the shoulder to get him to move. He was frozen. Eli frowned and shook his head.
"Sorry but Rob's being a bit weird today," Josh explained. "I don't think he wants any photos."
Amelie nodded, but the sadness in her eyes was apparent. "That's okay."
I felt bad for the girl. I turned around, looked at Bobby. He was on his phone. Scrolling through Tiktok still crouched down. A quick look at his phone screen showed me that he was watching edits — edits of himself. I had to take a double take to actually believe what I'd just seen. He was staring at clips of himself, smiling, and wouldn't even stand for five seconds next to a girl who'd paid to see his band. He continued to swipe his thumb against the screen, blue eyes lit up by his bright phone.
Then his eyes caught mine and he closed the Tiktok tab. "You didn't see that, did you?" He worriedly spoke so unbelievably quickly, I had to scramble my brain to decipher the words. His smile flipped upside down. Shock written all over him. Blush rising right up to the tips of his ears.
"The hell is wrong with you?" I muttered. Nieve heard. She stepped away. She did not want to be involved in whatever the two of us were plotting.
"What's wrong with me?" He breathed. It's like he was asking himself the question but there was an unyielding harshness to his voice, raspy and agitated. I was sure that this argument was going to be just as bad as the Sid Vicious incident, or worse. Halloween Bobby was on a different wavelength — bordering on depravity.
"You're watching fucking Tiktok edits of yourself. Didn't think you could be that self-centered—"
"Can we not do this now? Please?" Bobby tried to get me to calm down. Amelie and her friends were still only metres away, asking Josh about the tour, about the next album. Fran was listening in. She was smiling to herself. Part of her definitely enjoyed the beef between us.
"Show me your Tiktok."
"No."
"Now."
He sighed. I grabbed his phone, opened Tiktok straight away. His whole 'For You' page was edits of himself. The account he was on was a fake user account. I couldn't believe my eyes.
"What the hell..." Was all I could manage to say.
"I can explain."
"Can you? Go on then."
He didn't say anything. Took his phone back and kicked the brick wall beside him. He shook his phone around like he was going to throw it as well. That wouldn't change anything. I'd seen the worst of it — at least I hoped I'd seen the worst of it.
"Take that photo with those girls and I'll shut up about this." I gave him an option. A way to let him get out of the hole he'd dug for himself.
He was so tall. Sometimes I forgot that. But there, back straight, no longer slouched and his neck craned to meet my eyes. I couldn't hold eye contact. His clenched jaw was making me nervous.
"Fine." He finally concluded the argument with a single word. His index finger then pointed towards me, just beneath my neck. "But you don't tell anyone about this."
I grinned. "I promise."
Stepping over towards Amelie, he smiled widely, put an arm over her shoulder and allowed Fran to take the picture of the group. Moments later he was complaining about his shoes. How they were too small. If Robert Keating had a chance to complain about anything, he'd take it and wouldn't shut up about it. I just knew at that point that we'd be hearing about his shoes for the rest of the day.
Tension is thick in the restaurant. I can almost taste it in my mouth. Rob sits beside me. I don't want to look at him, don't want to hear him talk, don't want to have anything to do with him. He's only the only person I won't miss once this tour is over.
Before anyone can get a word out, Eli taps his fork against his glass. All eyes fall to him. Grace is next to him, she's appeared out of nowhere.
"I just want to say thank you to Nieve, Fran, Lucia, Finn and Matt for being such great openers on our tour. We're so grateful for all of you. This wouldn't have been the same without you."
"Aw, Eli, I might cry a bit, please stop." Nieve shakes her head, holding her napkin to her eyes. "This has been such a dream. We should be thanking you for giving us this opportunity."
"We need to do this again sometime." Ryan pitches in. "Next time we tour, you're coming with us."
"Yeah. That would be grand," Josh exclaims, pulling up his pint of Guinness and crashing it against everyone else's.
Bobby, after all his hours of complaining, has gone back to silent, angry mode. Playing around with his fork, he stares blankly at the menu, fingers tracing the lettering. I watch him as the others melt into conversation. I just want to know what is going through his head. Why is he acting like this? Last week, he was fun to be around and we had a good time. Especially when he's drunk, he loosens up a bit and stops with the facade. He even kissed me once. As a joke. I think.
It was a mess of alcohol. A 'midnight tour bus party'. We were in London and instead of going to the hotel, we ended up spending the night in the lovely green tour bus. We all got so drunk we could hardly speak. I can't remember all that we got up to but when we were sobering up, Bobby dragged me outside of the bus. He gave me his jacket, placed it over my shoulders. We sat down on a random doorstep, hugging each other to keep warm. Two penguins. Two people who usually hated eachothers guts, finding comfort in the warmth that emanated from our bodies. I'd never thought his hair was nice until that moment. How it grazed over my neck. How the curls twisted perfectly and his overgrown mullet framed his face. Or how pretty his eyes were as they shone under streetlights. Dreamy, long eyelashes, sea-like waves. He'd kissed me. His long fingers over my cheeks. His pink lips slotting between mine. I pulled away, shocked. Electricity had sparked between us, my heart was pounding, my body was a torch. Then I ran away from him. I couldn't understand what If just felt. I had never seen him in that way. We never mentioned it again.
Maybe that's what has made him colder. I still haven't acknowledged what happened that night. I keep thinking that he was too drunk to even remember it, but maybe he does. I'm not going to bring it up. Especially now. Especially in this restaurant with everyone sat with us.
"I'm sorry, Lucia."
My heart drops. Bobby is looking at me. Downcast. Entire state is disjointed. His mouth just said that, his brain just formulated those words.
"What?" I must've heard him wrong. Imagining it. This time I must be hallucinating.
"I'm sorry about that night."
Mindreader. He knew what I was thinking about. What my mind has been lingering on. The weather reminds me, his scent reminds me, his hands remind me, his jacket reminds me. That night. London. The night after Troxy. The wind — cut-throat, sharp, steely — the rain, and my tear-stained bedsheets. The taste of his mouth and the dejction locked into his eyes as I left him. Like I'd made a terrible mistake. Like running into my hotel room, alone, was the worst possible option I could've chosen.
I'm wearing the same earrings as I did that night — these ribbon ones that a fan made for me. Bobby had pointed them out — which he shifted between his fingertips and said they suited me. He's eyeing them now, hands curving, resisting any urge to touch them again, to drag us back to that moment.
The waiter takes my order. Bobby's words properly forage the depths of my mind, the veins and the arteries circling around my body, the aching crevices of my heart. I ask for the first thing I see on the menu and a Fanta. I want to stay sober. I want to savour all that will happen beyond this second. Bobby also doesn't get alcohol. Shockingly. The Bobby I know would never turn down a pint of Guinness. But he gets a 7up instead and takes a long, hard gulp of it when the waiter comes back. I'm counting the cracks on the table, how squeaky the chair is, the coffee stain on the ceiling — trying to guess how they managed to get up there. Musicians like to occupy their brains. They don't like to think too much - just do.
"I'm sorry..." I whisper. Finally giving him a reponse after a long pause for thought.
He had been waiting for an answer. He catches it. Twists uneasily in his seat. Wood creaks. Rain patters.
"...It was wrong of me to leave you." The image of his despair still rings through my bones. I swear when my cells divide they keep trying to recreate that look on his face.
"I shouldn't have..." his voice lowers, heat pf his mouth glides by my ear "...kissed you."
I'm trying to drink my Fanta with no reaction. Sugary greatness. Cold, slightly wet fingers. Orangey flavouring. But his voice is so low, trickling, burning, goosebump-inducing. I can't look at him. He's too close to me. It's too hot in the restaurant. Soundcheck is in 20 minutes. I want to run away again. I always want to run away.
Down my Fanta, smooth my skirt, breathe in deeply.
"I liked it." I similarly glide my lips over his ear when he's least expecting it, returning the favour.
He coughs. Chokes a bit on his drink. Then he eats his Pesto pasta with the pinkest neck I've ever seen on a person. Jacket off to reveal long, tattoo-covered arms, and the muscles that have progressively been getting bigger over the months. I join Ryan and Matt's drummer conversation to stop staring. It's weird. Being attracted to him feels wrong. Teenage Lucia would be ashamed. She’d slap some sense into me.
Dinner ends quickly. We're thrusted back into Dublin air before we can even adjust to the complete switch in environment. Running to the venue, through alleyways, shooting splashes of water all over the place, we realise how late we are. I feel better than I did in the morning. That dreaded train ride. Bobbys giving me the silent treatment again. I hate it. I hate it more than when he's being downright horrible to me.
-
Our set was unbelievable. The best show I've ever done. The crowd was unreal, the size of the place was absurd. We had never sounded so great. Everything went according to plan. We're crying now that we're offstage. We need something to uplift us. Nieve's idea is to party in the back. Which is one of the best parts of the night.
We find a spot just before Inhaler goes on. Screams bleed through the room, adoration written in teenage faces, phones held up to capture the moment. The five lads on stage. One final time. I scream like I'm sixteen all over again, dancing as the first song 'These Are The Days' begins to play. Shouting along, throwing my hands in the air. I don't think I've ever been so happy and fulfilled before.
The setlist is the usual. I didn't expect them to change it. Eli gives a little 'thank you' speech, mentioning us at the end. Then suddenly encore starts and I'm met by a mildly unfamiliar song. The crowd seems just as confused as I am. Bobby is wearing that stupid black vest and I swear his bass has been lowered all the more. The next time they perform, it'll surely be grazing the floor.
Bobby doesn't normally speak to the crowd at shows. It's always Eli. But as they play the intro, he begins to speak, "Hi everyone. Hope you're all having a good time." Commotion, screams, chanting 'Bobby' as if it's a cult gathering, not a concert. His eyes are searching through the crowd. The party in the back turned into moshpits and luckily I got pushed near to the front. His eyes land on mine. I can tell he's looking at when he plays with his earring — like it's a code between us. He keeps playing the same few notes on the bass lazily as he grabs the mic stand. Everyone is silent and listening as he says, "This is 'You Might Get What You Want'.
I recognise it now. I'm sent back to high school. 6 years ago. Practice room at school. Instrument cases strewn all over tha place, broken drumsticks leant against the wall. I'm sat at the piano as Bobby announces, "This is a new song I wrote." He passes me the chords starts singing. My thoughts are quiet. The external world is too loud for me to think. I'm lost in the music. The song is beautiful — lyrics, chords, arrangement, Bobby's voice. That was the day when I wanted to ask to join the band. Then Bobby was horrible to me so I changed my mind. I even asked him what the song was about. He looked at the Jim Morrison poster on the door, hand against his buzzed head as he thought up a response. "A girl," was his final conclusion. I thanked him for his specificity. He told me, quite frustratedly, it was 'none of my business'. Then he was riled up and told me to leave because I was 'playing it all wrong'. One of the last times I ever played with the band. So when I hear the song again — I'm back, sitting at the piano with my school uniform, waiting for cues to play the next chord.
The crowd goes wild at the fact that Bobby is singing alone. This is unusual. The majority of the crowd don't know the song. Reminds me of their first gigs in tiny venues. I sing along, staring at Bobby as he stares back. I wonder which girl the song was actually about. At seventeen, he hung out with every girl in sight - parties, random town meetups, gigs. The way he is looking at me is shattering me down to my core — eyes painted with affection and how he keeps moving his earring. For some reason, I wish the song is about me. Then he sings, 'You Might Get What You Want' whilst pointing right at me. Has anyone else noticed his staring? Nieve and Fran seem clueless. It could all be in my head. His face appears on the screen. I stare. Not ashamed. Appreciating his beauty for as long as we have left. Only tonight. Then nothing. Only the possibility of seeing eachother once again. It won't be set in stone.
I'm a sweaty mess by the end of the show. Last goodbyes, last waves, last shocked stares at the extent of the crowd. I always forget how boiling it gets in the standing area. I'm almost at the point of suffocating. We leave with the crowd, taking a few selfies with fans along the way. I stand in the merch queue. I need something to remember this. Something I can keep and wear and just be brought back to this venue, to this atmosphere. I buy a black tour shirt with the bubbly lettering, slipping it over my tank top. I just know the change in temperature will murder me. The more layers I have on, the better.
We slip through the crowd. Thankfully, it's quieter after my long time in the merch queue. I'd never seen such a long amalgamation of people.
Back at the hotel, I crash straight down onto my bed. Don't even turn on the lights or take off my clothes. I just close my eyes and stretch out my body like a cat. It all happened too quickly. I left the band early to head back, although I heard the rest of them were going to the tour bus to get drunk. I've already had so much fun. I just need to relax. Alone time. Silence. Comfort.
A knock on the door.
I jump up. Still in my Inhaler shirt and lacy white skirt, I feel like taking a shower. But whoever just knocked has impeded any plans. I could just pretend I didn't hear them. I could fall asleep and they'll just walk away.
Another knock. I jolt up this time. It's louder.
This time I reach the door. Sliding the keyhole open, I see him. Of course it's him. Of course. Of all the people that could be here right now. His hair is wet, mussed up. He's holding his jacket under his arm as it's completely drenched. Looking from side to side, he seems to contemplate giving up and leaving me solitary.
I open the door. Let my guard down. I want to talk. Rant. Let out all the garble mixing up and stuffing my skull. He'd listen to me.
"What are you doing here?" I ask. I don't say it rudely. Make sure to keep my tone quiet and curious. The rise of his head to meet my eyes is almost film-like, tracing along my skin, photographic.
"I need to talk to you."
"Come in then."
Close the door behind him. He drops his jacket onto the floor. Slides off those shoes with a groan. They really are too small on him. He can hardly untie the laces without sucking in a quick breath. He looks at himself in the dodgy mirror, trying to fix any flying pieces of hair. His beard is growing a little — little moustache fading in above his mouth.
He sits down on a chair by the table.  His lengthy legs reach up to the end of the bed where I'm sat. He picks up a tea bag, sniffs it then puts it back. I'm worried about what he's about to say. He looks like he's gone through hell and back to get here. I've never seen him so dishevelled.
"You were amazing today." I hate the silence. I fill it up. "You all get better every time."
He's been so serious since he came in but the ghost of a smile haunts his lips. They twitch then fall. "So do you."
“Is this about your weird For You page because I’m pretty fucking worried.” I’m trying to forget I saw any of those edits.
“It’s not that.” He shakes his head. He's hugging his chest, arms shivering. My eyes narrow. Each hair on his arm is stood to attention.
"Do you want a blanket?" I'm about to look for something to warm him up when his hand clasps around my wrist. He's stood up. I'm sat down, looking up at him. His thumb traces the inside of my wrist, over a bracelet I have. One that he gave me when I was sixteen. A friendship bracelet he'd brought to one of the rehearsal sessions. I wore it just to get a reaction out of him. This is the first time he’s noticed it.
I want to ask him what he's doing. But then he's sat next to me with his arms around my body and I forget what I was going to say.
"Robert..." I don't normally say his full name. It's the only word that's coming to mind. His wet hair is dripping all over my skirt, his head is against my chest, he won't look up at me.
When I pick up his face, stretch my hands over his cheeks, I find his crystal eyes glossed over. Tears. He's crying. I don't know how to react. He buries his head back into the crook of my neck like he's embarrassed. Then he's breathing heavily. Heaving. Sniffling.
"What is it?" I whisper. I stroke every inch of his hair, the nape of his neck, the thin material of his vest. I trace the tattoos on his arm. Finally landing on the music notation inked into his wrist.
"I don't want you to leave." He holds onto my waist, under my shirt, cold skin. "Stay here. With me. Please."
I wipe the tears from his face. I must look like a beetroot. I'm boiling.
"Really?" I think I'm crying as well. I can't help it. This is the first time I’ve ever seen him so unguarded, so helpless.
"I only sang that song so you'd hear it." He looks up at the ceiling, cogs turning in his brain. "It's not just about a girl. It's about you."
"You're kidding." I have to laugh.
"I'm not. I wrote it during the summer holidays before high school. I had some weird thought that you were going to call me and ask me out. I was always a prick to you so I don't know where that idea was coming from exactly. It's just when you want something so badly—I guess your brain manifests it into reality. Like every time I turned around a corner, I thought you'd magically appear. I thought you'd say that you liked me. But then you went off to Uni, the band got big. And now this. You're in fucking Nieve Ella's band. I thought I was going to throw up when I saw you get out of the train. Everything just came back. I didn't put the song on the album because every time I hear it, I just remember what an idiot I am for not treating you well and for not telling you how I feel. Singing it brought me back to the practice room, to that shitty piano with pedals falling off the hinges. How you made such a disgusting piano sound divine. I don't want to make the same mistake. If I let you go now, I'll be regretting it for the rest of my life."
"So you were looking at me? When you were singing?" I tilt my head, thumb below his eye.
"I might have been." He's not crying anymore. His voice is less rough. He sounds like normal Bobby again.
"I'll stay with you. As long as you want."
"Forever?"
"Bit too long. I can only deal with you for about three hours at a time."
"Then we should make good use of the—" He looks down at his watch. "—Two hours and 43 minutes we have left."
"What do you have planned?" I'm getting closer to him. His nose bumps against mine.
"What do you want to do, Luz?" He's challenging me. Thumb swirling over my lips.
"This." I kiss him. Lips to lips. Two notes in perfect harmony. Everything we've been through culminating into one simple kiss. It's a peck. A tease. I pull away as I feel him yank me closer.
His hands find my ears and it's like that night again. His mouth tastes the same. Sweet. Lukewarm. He still grazes my bottom lip with his teeth when he feels me shift back.
"You're an angel," he says.
At that, I'm kissing him again. This time with more passion. Exploding fireworks. Jumping into the ocean, water floating around you. The ringing in your eyes after an explosion. An earthquake. A tidal wave. So many feelings at once. He's trying to take my shirt off. I let him. Pulled it over my head so quickly I thought he might get my neck off as well. He throws it onto the nearby chair, looking at me, with those glimmering eyes and perfect eyebrows. Beauty spots and smooth skin. I attempt to take off his shirt too, although it's pretty much stuck to his chest. He helps me out, laughing at my stress.
"It's not that hard." He smirks, tugging at the top as I manage to unstick the bottom.
"Fuck off." I roll my eyes.
He pushes me down onto the bedsheets, helping me up until my head is on the pillow. I look over his frame. Long torso, large biceps, chain around his neck. It's too much to deal with. Hooded eyes, smirk on his lips, happy trail leading down to his belt. He knows how he's making me dizzy. He leans down, curling over me, scent hanging, cool skin against mine. I throw my head back. I've never been touched like this. So precise. So gentle. Like I'm his favourite bass guitar. I'd never noticed how long his fingers were until they were splayed over my bra, until the other hand was sliding up my thigh.
He kisses my neck, my shoulders, my collarbones, the valley between my breasts, tongue flat, teeth sharp. I hold onto his hair, then onto his toned shoulders. This morning, I would never have expected that this would happen. That the boy I loathed was admiring me and tasting me with unrelenting adoration. Now, the thought of leaving him makes me sick to my stomach. I pull him a little closer, kiss him a little harder and remember just how red teenage Bobby's face was after he'd sang that song to me. How defensive he was when I asked him about it. Now it all makes sense.
I won't ever leave him again.

For those of you who may like Alex Kerfoot I am warning you for the sake of the series ONLY, I made Alex a jackass to fit the story line. I don't know how he really acts in person but I made him what I needed him to be for the story only. Please don't hate on me or the series if you don't agree with how he acts or talks within the series. Thank you

When you plan the perfect fairytale wedding, have the perfect ring, the perfect girl to walk down the aisle to you, you expect it to go perfectly smooth right? Well that's what Tyler Seguin thought the day he proposed to Tiffany. It had been the perfect beach proposal in Italy during the off season, they had been together for 2 years and she seemed to understand what it meant to be a hockey player's wife. Everything seemed like a fairytale… till last night when he found what he thought was the love of his life, fucking another man in their bed, in their house. Since then he had been hiding away in Jamie's basement, nursing a beer as he poured out his heart to his best friend over facetime.
"Ziggy, I know it hurts, and I'm truly sorry, but hiding in a basement till the season starts is not the answer." Arabella Kerfoot said with a dramatic sigh. Tyler took another sip of his beer and looked away from the camera. He knew she was right but his pride was too wounded to admit that.
"I don't know, Jamie's basement is pretty nice."
"It's May, Segs. Hockey starts in September. You gonna hide down there for over 4 months??" Ella gave him a hard look. Hanging his head the hockey forward sighed and shook his head. Running a hand through his black hair he looked back up and gave her the same look back.
"So what do you suggest, oh Great One?"
Bella laughed and flipped him off through the camera. "Wayne Gretzky is the Great One. But come spend the summer with me hiding away from the Media and just regroup. Take a breather." She said, taking a bite of her muffin as she leaned back into her chair. Tyler watched her closely, seeing if she was serious about it. He closed his eyes and ran his hand through his hair again before looking back up at the camera. "Come on, even Jamie thinks it's a good idea."
"You talked to Benn about it?" .
Bella smiled at the camera and took another bite of her muffin. "What else was I supposed to do?" She asked. "Of course I talked to Jamie about it and he agreed with me. You need to leave his basement. Like yesterday and get your ass up here to my place. Take the summer to shut out the world and regroup with me." She sighed and sat her muffin down, running a hand through her hair before leaning closer to the camera. "Tyler, what happened is shitty. What she did to you was something horrible, but if you stay there, if you let this haunt you, it's going to ruin you. The media will eat you alive. Plus if you went home… dude I love your family, but let's be honest, they won't let you have any peace trying to make sure you're okay after something like this."
He knew she was right. He honestly did. They both had shitty reputations with the media. They messed up one time in their careers and all the sudden they were uncontrollable wild childs that needed to be torn down. Tyler has done so much since his move to Texas to rebrand himself, make a better name and leave all the Boston shit behind him. He finished his beer and looked off into the distance of the darkened room. Ella stayed silent as he thought, as his mind went through all his thoughts. He sighed and picked at the sandwich Jamie had made him hours ago, but left untouched. He knew Ella was waiting for him to answer, but his mind was tired and his heart was too broken to give her one. He heard his best friend sigh, knowing she was trying hard to give them the space he needed but a push at the same time. There was a 6 year age gap between the two Forwards, Tyler taking on the role of big brother to a young girl he met in 2017 who had just won the Stanley Cup in her rookie year with Pittsburgh, and made a mistake in front of the media, earning her a nasty reputation, similar to the one he had when he played for Boston. Fast forward 4 years later and the two were more like siblings then their own siblings. Tyler stood by Ella in so many fights with her brother Alex, who played for Toronto, when he would fight her on what a disappointment her reputation bright to the family name. Ella also stood beside Tyler during many family events where his family would hound him on not having settled down yet and setting his new found reputation into stone. Over the past 4 years the two of them formed a bond, one that to the outside world looked more than platonic, but they could never see each as anything more than best friends and siblings.
Knowing that Ella was in his corner and would understand if he needed a moment to breathe and ponder her request to spend the summer in Pittsburgh with her, he finally answered her question. "Let me have the night, to just…. Let my mind shut down and figure out how to go about this. I'll call you in the morning and let you know what I'm going to do. Okay Bell?"
"Okay Ziggy. If I don't hear from you by 10am I'm calling Benn and making him put you on a plane though. Love you Bubs."
"Love you Bubs." Tyler said back with their signature sign off before hanging up the phone. The room was darker than he remembered from before Ella had called, so flipping on a light he sat down on one of the sofas in Jamie's basement. His phone lit up with text messages from Tiffany, ones he swiped away so he didn't have to see them. With a sigh he flipped his phone over and ignored it as it continued to buzz. Getting up he walked slowly up the staircase to the first floor into the kitchen. Jamie was there cooking some food, listening to a game from the playoffs from the TV in the corner.
"About time you showed your face. Ella finally got you to leave my dungeon of despair?" Jamie asked as he stirred the stuff in the pot. Tyler raised an eyebrow upon hearing the weird name for the basement and Jamie saw the look of confusion. Nodding his head and waving a hand in the air he answered the silent question. "That's what she called it when she called me this morning. Don't ask, it's Ella, that's enough said."
Both men have a soft chuckle at that and Jamie went back to stirring his food. Tyler walked to the fridge and grabbed a bottle of water, chugging it down like his life depended on it. He hadn't drunk anything other than beer in the past 14 hours, and he didn't realize how thirsty he was till that moment. Throwing the empty water bottle in the small bin beside the sink, he leaned against the countertop and ran a hand through his thick hair.
"Ella wants me to come to Pittsburgh for the summer…. Instead of going home." He broke the silence after a bit of deep thinking. Jamie hummed in response, turning the stove off and removing his dish he had been stirring. Tyler watched him closely as he poured the stew into bowls. "You don't seem surprised." Jamie put the pot down and turned to face his best friend. He placed his arms over his chest and leaned against the table.
"Tyler, going home is only going to end in 1 of 2 ways. Your family going overboard on trying to keep you happy and giving you no time to grieve this, or being all up your ass about how shit went wrong and how this is going to look in you. They won't let you have any peace."
Tyler folded his arms and hung his head, giving a slight nod. "That's what Ella said too."
Jamie pushed off from the table and walked over to the forward and placed a hand on his shoulder. "Ella is right. And she's right in the fact you should go spend the summer with her. Lord knows that girl can't go home to her family. Not fair you two spend your summer with people that don't understand you. She's your best friend, so go and recover from this."
Tyler nodded his head and looked down at his bare feet. He knew they were right, there was nothing holding him here for the next few months. So pulling out his phone he shot a text to his one friend, asking if they could fly them on their small private plane to Pittsburgh in the morning. Then he shot a text to Ella that he knew she was probably already expecting.
*Pick me up at the airport in the morning*
∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆∆
Stepping off the private plane around 8am in Pittsburgh instead of getting ready for a bachelor party that night wasn't how Tyler saw his weekend going. But here he was getting off his friend's plane at the airport to meet up with Ella. Flipping his sunglasses up onto his hair he looked around for the tall brunette he called his best friend. Looking off to his right he saw her walking his way. Ella was one for fashion. She knew what looked good on her tall, thin but muscular frame. Clad in a white deep V neck shirt that hugged her curves, a pair of dark blue skinny jeans with black ankle boots. Orange tinted Aviators kept her eyes from the morning sun, her hair fell to her shoulder blades thick and wavy down her back.
"You definitely know how to make an entrance Ell-Bell." Tyler said as he took the last few steps off the private plane. Ella's bright laugh filled the air around them as she stopped in front of her best friend.
"Please Ziggy, you dress to impress all the time, you lady killer." She said waving her hand at his current outfit. He had on a dark green shirt that was so tight it was a second skin. Every muscle on display. Tan pants clinged to his thighs, dark brown Hey Dudes on his feet. His hair was styled in the blown away look, curls perfectly messy. Dark sunglasses now perched on top of his head. His wide, full white smile lit up the runway, reaching out he pulled his best friend into a hug. For the first time since he found his now ex-fiance with another man, he really smiled. Pulling away from the hug, Tyler grabbed his bags he had dropped at his feet and followed Ella to her car. Tossing his bags Into the back seat of her Jeep, he climbed into the passenger seat and turned to look at his best friend.
"Thank you Ella…. For helping me during this. For being my best friend."
The brunette smiled back at him and took his hand, giving it a squeeze. "You are welcome Tyler. I know this is hard, and shitty. What she did was unforgettable. You are more of a brother than my own flesh and blood and I will always stand in your corner." She let go of his hand and started up her jeep, the warm spring air floating through the windows as she pulled out of the airport parking lot. "And you know that whenever you want to talk about it, or vent, or just sit in silence and drink a beer together, you just have to ask."
Tyler watched the scenery go by out his window. Pittsburgh was a beautiful town, the people here passionate about their sports teams with flags and banners blowing in the light breeze. What had once been a small coal town was now a booming city with people from all over flocking to its doors to watch hockey and football and baseball, for jobs and major opportunities that showed up each day.
The trees were just starting to green up, the grass turning a pretty shade of green, early spring flowers blooming in the yards of the homes they drove past. Tyler was lost in thought as he watched the town go by, the wind blowing through his curls as he leaned his head back against the headrest. The sound of a phone ringing broke him from his thoughts. Looking over at his friend, he watched as she looked down at her phone, a scowl across her face as she quickly hit decline to the call.
"Is everything okay Ella?" Concern in his voice. The forward sighed as she came to a stop at a red light. She looked over at Tyler through her sunglasses and he knew right away she wasn't happy.
"Alex keeps calling." She finally spoke as she turned back to look at the road.
"What does he want?"
"It's Alex. The only reason he ever calls his baby sister is because he wants to yell at me for being the family disappointment." The light turned green and Ella started moving the Jeep again, flipping her turn signal on and going right, towards her house. "Every year my family goes on a vacation together and last year I just…. Hide away and not gone. And I don't plan on going this year and I'm sure he is calling to bitch me out for it among other things….. shit."
Tyler looked from his friend to the front windshield as he felt the jeep come to a stop. He looked up the driveway to Ella's house on the outside of town and saw a car parked right by the front door. Looking back at his friend he gave her a pissed off look.
"What is he doing here?" Tyler hissed as he looked back at the Subaru in the driveway. Ella remained quiet as she pulled up her driveway to park beside the car that was waiting for them. The Jeep hadn't even been turned off yet when Tyler was out of its doors and marching towards the man waiting. After the past weekend, the drama and pain he went through, he was now ready for a fight.
"What the hell do you want Alex?" His voice boomed as Tyler stopped in front of the tall dark haired player from Toronto. He watched as Alex Kerfoot scowled upon hearing his voice and turned to face him.
"I should have known my baby sister would have gone running the minute she found out you were no longer engaged." Alex sneered as he crossed his arms over his chest.
Ella stopped next to Tyler and matched her brother's posture. "The fuck is that supposed to mean?"
Alex laughed, shaking his head as if the answer was obvious. "With the reputation you both have among players it should be very clear what I'm saying. But I'll spell it out nevertheless." He pushed off his car and stopped inches from his sister. "You couldn't wait to have him back in your bed after you were the one that probably wrecked his engagement, Arabella. People like you two don't know how to be any different no matter how much your families try to put you on the right path."
Tyler grabbed Alex by the arm and yanked him away from Ella who had a look of horror across her face. Tyler pushed Alex up against his car and pinned him there with an arm across his chest.
"Watch your mouth Kerfoot. My engagement being called off has nothing to do with Ella. Your sister is my best friend and she offered me a place to stay while all that shit back in Texas gets worked out. Next time don't speak without the facts." He said through gritted teeth. Tyler stood a few inches taller than Alex, and he put his full height to his advantage. The two glared at each other for a moment before Ella spoke up.
"Why are you here Alex?"
Pushed against Tyler's arm, Alex broke free and fixed his jacket, giving the taller man one more glare before facing his sister. "You never come home anymore during the off season. Your place is at home, with family, keeping your rep clean during the summer instead of hiding out in Pittsburgh, giving the media more drama to feed off of. So I came to get you."
"Yeah that's not happening." Tyler chuckled sarcastically as he stepped closer to Ella for support. Alex cocked his head and waved a hand between the 3 of them to make a point. "And what place do you have here to speak Seguin?"
"Stop Alex!" Ella snapped as she pushed between the two men. She could see Tyler was holding back his anger, an anger he was famous for once having. And Alex knew how to push buttons, it's what gave him an edge on the ice. Tyler shook his head and took a step back, giving space between the three of them. He hated how Alex and her whole family treated her after one mistake. It was like watching his early years play out all over again.
"I am home Alex. Pittsburgh IS my home now. And I have house guests to care for. So I suggest you leave and let me go about my life here, with my friends and my team who are supporting me far more than my family has in the past few years." Tyler watched as Ella spoke, before she turned her back on her brother and walked back to her car to grab her purse from the back seat where she had left it. Digging out her house key she turned back to face Tyler and nodded her head towards the front door. Tyler nodded and turned back to face Alex, crossing his arms over his chest and tapped his chin up towards the Subaru behind him. He watched as Alex shook his head and grabbed the handle of the car door and yanked it open.
"I'll tell Mom that you already had plans for the summer. At least call her some though." Alex called out dryly before climbing into the car shutting the door behind him. Tyler glanced over at his friend and watched all kinds of emotions cross her face as her brother drove down her driveway and then down the road. Tyler watched her from the corner of his eye as the car disappeared down the road. He was fortunate enough to have a family that still supported him even after everything in Boston. Even after up until a year and half ago when he got serious with Tiffany he bounced around from girl to bar each weekend not caring if he got too drunk and ruin all he worked so hard to build. Even now, with everything that has happened in the past 48 hours with Tiffany, he knew his family understood to a point why he didn't come home. Why he wanted see space. Sure they would check in on him and maybe suggest coming to visit but they wouldn't show up at his door and chastise him for his choice.
"Don't bother even bringing your bags in." Ella's voice broke him from his thoughts. He turned to fully face her but Ella was already heading for her door.
"Excuse me? Care to explain??" He asked, not fully understanding that statement at all. He had a split second fear that maybe she was going to send him back to Texas after what just happened. But seeming to sense his underlying fear, she stopped at the door after she unlocked it and gave him one of her famous looks.
"We're not staying here." She said with a flip of her hair over her shoulder. "If we really want to disappear, then we are going to the cabin." Tyler had only seen her cabin once since she bought it. It was in a small fishing town at the top corner of Erie county and the lake. It sat by the water with only 2 other cabins in sight across the lake. It was remote and quiet. "The three of us need a break from the world. So to the cabin we go!" Ella singsonged as she marches through her front door, leaving Tyler to stand with a smirk on his face. He shook his head as he followed through the now open door. Only Sidney Crosby and himself knew she bought the cabin up north, as a way to really disappear when life got too much in the city.
"Wait." He stopped, replaying what she had said in his head. Three of them. Three people. So someone else was spending the summer with Ella? "Three people?" He called out but Ella had already disappeared upstairs to her room. "Ella, who else is spending the summer with us?!" He yelled up the steps as he raced up them two at a time. "I've had enough surprises in the past 48 hours to last a lifetime." He grumbled as he reached the top step. He found Ella packed 2 large suitcases of clothes, bathroom needs, shoes, and other random things. She smiled up at him and just gave him a wink. With a groan He knew he wasn't getting his answers till they reached that cabin on the lake.

Mick Schumacher On Fashion, Le Mans and Fronting Tommy Hilfiger's New Campaign
Tumblr media
It's a big year for sports, as the Paris Olympics near, tennis champs prep for Wimbledon, and the Euros inch closer. In the midst of it all Tommy Hilfiger is getting in on the action with the release of an International Games collection. Refashioning timeless icons for the new generation, the collection is a modern interpretation of the brand's 1996 capsule collection released to celebrate the Olympics arriving in Atlanta, reworking track-ready styles including archival varsity jackets, rugby jerseys and basketball vests in Tommy's signature red, white and blue. Speaking on the new collection, Hilfiger says: "The sporting calendar sets the cultural pulse for the year, and 2024's shaping up to be amazing. We're building on our legacy of working with pioneers in sport and reimagining timeless American icons through an archival lens." To front the campaign, the US house has turned to the global sporting stage to curate a team of athletes who embody the brand's spirit, including All-Pro NFL wide receiver Stefon Diggs, college basketball guard Deja Kelly, star of the all-Japan skateboarding association Aori Nishimura, and Formula 1 driver and current member of Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, Mick Schumacher. Ahead of the collection drop, in the conversation below we speak to Schumacher about his first memories of Tommy Hilfiger, his personal style, and prepping for Le Mans.
Ella Joyce: "What was it like working with Tommy Hilfiger? Do you have personal memories of the brand?" Mick: "It was great! Not only is it exciting to wear Tommy and to have attended the NYFW show with all the exceptional details, but to be a part of the campaign and the bigger brand story is just incredible. A personal memory for me is when the brand worked with Ferrari back in the day, before their current partnership with the Mercedes-AMG F1 Team. My dad used to bring back so much kit and, honestly, I was just running around as the best-dressed kid in school!" EJ: "How does the campaign resonate with you?" Mick: "I really believe Tommy was able to create something that brings both sport and style to the table. I'm sporty, I love to do my workouts and be active outdoors, and to be able to do that fashionably is so important. I was so happy to be part of this campaign with other athletes, too. It was amazing to get to know them better and see how their sport and personalities impact their individual styles." EJ: "Off the track, how would you describe your personal style?" Mick: "I think the best word would be 'changeable.' I love to experiment and try new things with my style. I think you can see this across my social media, but I would probably look different if you saw me on the street two days in a row. From a classic look to a more casual or baggy streetwear look, I love the creativity that comes with personal style. It's so fun."
Tumblr media
EJ: "You're currently competing in the 2024 FIA World Endurance Championship. How's it going? What's coming up next for you?" Mick: "Yes, we just had our first race in Qatar, a ten-hour race! It was the first time I had to be on for that amount of time while learning and experiencing that type of race, but it was an interesting run. We learned a lot as a team. One of the cars even scored points, so it proves that we're on pace and the project is moving in the right direction, especially as everyone is gearing up for Le Mans." EJ: "Do you have any pre-race rituals?" Mick: "I don't, actually. It depends on how I'm feeling in the moment. If I'm nervous or stressed, or whatever it is, I'll always try to adapt to what's happening. Maybe one day I'm nervous so I have to work on calming down, and another day I'm too calm so I have to pump myself up. It all depends on the day."
Tumblr media
EJ: "You're photographed alongside a host of other athletes for the campaign. How do you think your generation of athletes compares to generations which have come before?" Mick: "I think we are really different to athletes from the previous generation. Of course, social media and phones have made an impact, but it's also because we're so precise about what we're doing. We have strict training and a solid laid-out plan in front of us on how to achieve our desired results. We have so much research and information which leads our way, while back in the day it was more experimental." EJ: "America and collegiate heritage heavily inspire Tommy Hilfiger. Is there a specific place which inspires you?" Mick: "The racetrack. I've always been a part of it, from doing laps in a car to just being on the track. In terms of style, I've always been interested in fashion, most likely inspired by my dad at a young age; however, my girlfriend is heavily involved in the fashion world, so it's helpful when I need to know what looks good and what doesn't. Inspiration is all around, so it depends on where I look!"

wc: 1.6k
_________________________________________
***Here's a new update in honor of Mark's birthday, I'm sorry again for how long I was gone and honestly I was going to wait until after Kcon to post but I decided I might as well put a new chapter up now since it's his birthday.
_________________________________________
Part 1 Part 2 Part 3 Part 4 Part 5 Part 6
As night time approached, it was about time for the party to start. The couples had all planned to meet up at the park and go to the party together. Y/N and Mark were the first to arrive, Mark appearing more tired than usual.
"Mark are you sure you're okay? You were acting off this morning and you look like you're about to pass out." Y/N asked.
"I'm fine, really. I just drank too much last night and that's why I look like this. I won't have anything at this party, but I know you want to go so I'm still going with you." Mark smiled at them.
"How cute, Mark being a caring boyfriend!" Johnny's voice suddenly cut in.
"Damn it Johnny! Why are you always coming in to ruin the mood?" Y/N retorted.
"You're the one who decided to be all cutesy in our meeting spot." Johnny responded defensively.
Y/N looked to the girl behind Johnny and said in a joking manner, "You could have done so much better, why him?"
"In that case, Mark could have too." Johnny interjected, defending his dates choice.
"Oh now you've done it!" Y/N raised their hand to slap Johnny when the tall male got the signal and began running away from them.
The two ran in circles around the park, Y/N swatting at Johnny and Johnny avoiding them like his life depended on it. Meanwhile Mark and Kylee watched, amused by the event playing out in front of them.
The vibe dropped though, when the last couple arrived. Jaehyun, while confused, still found the situation funny, but the girl to his side had a look of disgust on her face. Ella could care less for this behavior, she just wanted to hurry and get to that party so she could ditch Jaehyun and go after Ten.
Y/N suddenly realized the two were there, giving Ella an eye roll seeing her expression, and stopped chasing Johnny. "Oh look, everyone’s here! Shall we get going now?"
Johnny stopped running and breathed a sigh of relief before going back to his date, looking a bit flustered that she'd just witnessed that side of him. After that, the three set off.
Once they arrived at Ten's mansion, that honestly nobody knew how he could afford at his age, they waited to be let in by the guard who was hired to make sure only couples came in. The thing about these parties is that they were strictly designated for couples only because Ten was said to have skills that could give couples all the luck in dating they could possibly want if they were willing to pay his price. However many couples visited just in hopes the general aura of the party would help. Even the boy’s psychic friend who was currently overseas, Yuta, confirmed it.
Once everyone was inside, Ella looked around for a moment before spotting Ten and abandoned Jaehyun to make her way over to him. Y/N and Kylee exchanged glances and then Y/N grabbed Mark's hand and dragged him over to Ten.
"Heeeeyyy Ten." Ella said, rather annoyingly.
Ten looked up from a large and somewhat old looking book. "Hello." He smiled. "Have you finally gotten a partner and looking to strengthen your luck?"
"Actually, I'm looking to get lucky with yo-" Ella couldn't finish her sentence due to Y/N coming up and "accidentally" bumping into Ella.
"So you're the infamous Ten everyone talks about!" Y/N exclaimed in an overdramatic tone in attempt to take his attention away from the menace beside them.
Ten looked over and decided the couple with both parties present was more worth his time than the girl who'd abandoned her partner. "Yes I am! I'm guessing you two are a fairly new couple? I haven't seen you around here before."
"Yep. We just started dating about a week ago." Y/N replied.
"Well, normally I don't offer my services to brand new couples because I see a lot of people rush into something and then regret it." Ten started as he looked the two of them up and down. "But I can sense that you two were friends for a long time before finally confessing to each other, so I'll make an exception."
The boy looked back down at his book and flipped through some pages before finding the perfect one. "Here we go!" He turned around to the cabinet behind him and opened it up, rummaging through some stuff before finding what he needed. Once he closed the cabinet and turned back around, he placed two beautifully colored stones on a wood board on the counter. "These stones will protect your love for each other making it so that, no matter the circumstances, you two will never forget about each other. Whenever you see each other's faces, you'll always know that the other is there for you."
"How does it work though?" Mark asked, finally talking for the first time since arriving there.
"It simply emits an aura that combines with your own. The best way however, is to always wear it on you." Ten pulled out a stick of chalk and drew some symbols on the board around the two stones. He put his hands on either side of the board and concentrated for a moment in silence. After that, he pulled out two wires and wrapped them securely around the stones, adding a small ring at the top of the wire. "I'd suggest putting these on those necklaces you two have."
The couple took the stones and each put one on their necklaces. They were small enough that it didn't add much weight.
"So what do we owe you?" Y/N asked.
The annoyed Ella who'd been standing by watching gave Y/N a shove. "Some privacy for us now!"
Y/N glared at the girl and quickly signaled Kylee over to deal with her. Kylee came over and pulled Ella away. Ten noticed the situation and smiled at Y/N. "I'll waive the fee this time."
"Yo what? Really!?" Mark asked shocked.
"You're a friend of Kylee and Kylee's a friend of my love. If you are working together to help keep Ella away from me, and in turn, saving my love the stress of having to come public to keep people away from me, then I owe YOU." Ten responded graciously. Then mumbled under his breath, low enough that no one could hear. "Plus, you'll need it."
About an hour later, Y/N noticed the strange feeling in their body again. They felt it begin around their neck and spreading up towards their head. At this point, they decided it wasn't worth it to stay out anymore. "Mark I think I need to go to bed."
Things became somewhat of a blur for Y/N after that. Next thing they knew they were laying in their own bed and Mark had sent a good night text. Y/N's head started to feel weird and they decided to go outside for some fresh air.
Stumbling out to the small balcony outside of their room, Y/N's body started to feel even more strange. Freaking out, they accidentally bumped into the railing and fell over. Fear kicked in but then a strange sensation overcame them and suddenly Y/N was... flying?
Confused by the sudden change, Y/N somewhat crash landed and then got up to examine what just happened. Black feathers surrounded them and they found that large wings had somehow sprouted from their back.
Y/N tried to process what was happening, but realized too late that their body began moving on its own. Almost like someone else was controlling it. They could see and think, but whatever was in control of everything else wasn't letting go.
Their body took off in the sky and sought out a small restaurant to attack. Bursting through the window set all the guests in a frenzy. Y/N tried to regain control but couldn't. The bird-like body went snapping at various people while Y/N internally panicked.
Meanwhile, Mark awoke with a start. His senses were going wild and he knew something was wrong. He quickly suited up and went out to find what was happening. Once he arrived, he was shocked to see a new bird-human hybrid. He'd thought the last one he dealt with would be the only one.
Wasting no time, the masked man quickly worked to get everyone to safety before going to deal with the creature. The bird being ran out the door and tried to fly off but the hero shot out a web to catch it.
He walked over and once he was close enough, he recognized something, an all too familiar necklace around the neck. He pulled his own necklace out in hopes that the stones would sense each other and do something. Suddenly the body started moving in a strange manner before returning to a normal human form.
Y/N began freaking out once they regained control of their own body again, not knowing what just happened as things began to get blurry for a moment. Then they heard a voice.
"Hey, hey, calm down, you're alright." They looked up to see the masked hero who was kneeling next to them.
"Spider... Man?" Y/N asked weakly, wondering if this time was actually real.
"Yes. I don't know what's happening to you but I'm going to help you, okay?" he replied, helping Y/N up.
After being helped up and having an arm around the man's shoulder to help Y/N keep their balance, they noticed something. "Wait a second... That necklace." Y/N took ahold of the charms. "M.L. x (Y/N's initials)," they looked up at the masked man’s face, well, mask. "Mark?"

Hey Ella. I thought I'd come to you with this because you always give off a kind and sympathetic nature so at the very least I won't be treated like a shitty person for what I want to say.
I'm really struggling with Harry atm and it's actually kinda devastating because I never saw this happening. There is so much around Harry that I vehemently dislike, from the people around him to aspects of his public image and narrative. I was so good at separating all that from Harry himself but lately I've been feeling my bitterness bleeding onto Harry. I've seen this happen so much. People who were originally fans getting annoyed at small things and that growing bigger into bitterness and hate. I don't want to be one of these people.
What is making this worse is that I as a person do not place a high value on things like career and ambition. Not in my own life and not in others. So it's getting hard for me to relate and support Harry in his ambition as to me there are infinitely more important things in life. This wasn't a major factor before because his fame and success wasn't at the level it is now.
I honestly don't know what I'm trying to do with this message. I guess I would just appreciate some perspective if you're willing because I genuinely do not want to start resenting Harry. Honestly just typing this is making me tear up.
hi kind anon, i think you're dealing with a pretty common problem in the fandom these days. it's tough to feel like you don't relate to someone you really always felt comfort with. maybe a first step is to take a breather from the fandom as well as gp/main media talk about harry. no twitter (and i'm not saying this bc i have a weird biased thing against twitter. it's a place where opinions are thrown around like it's something ppl have been begging for, like it's fact, and it's really hard to keep reading opinions and debates without getting influenced), no harry content on instagram, no tiktok. i am not interested in anything others have to say about him, and i actively shield myself from it. i don't watch videos others have made with commentary, i don't read articles, i don't even read discourse on here usually. i think the habit of picking everything apart, of making sure you focus on the negative to properly enjoy the positive, is unhealthy, or at least for me. i know myself enough to not fall into blindness or naivety when it comes to what's wrong with enormous success and the industry. i just don't feel the need to get into it every time harry achieves something.
when it comes to harry's ambition and success, i just know (from what he's shown over the years, but the full extent we never will) how much it means to him. i think it's also a mix of actually wanting to be big for him and getting as high as he can to prove that he can to everyone who told him he couldn't. i don't relate to it either, and i don't think it's cool to have all those riches, but i still cry with harry when he cries of joy at his madison sq garden banner. i'm okay living with that nuance without always debating it. i love his music, i love his artistic vision, i love his lyrics, i love the way he carries himself. i also know i don't know him, that i never will, and that there are things he does and says i don't agree with. i have the exact same thing with some of my lifelong best friends, as they have with me. i'm okay with that. happy, even, of how unique and imperfect we all are
what i do, and what keeps me so in love with harry beyond the noise of the gp and the fandom, is focus on what makes me love him. remember that this is an interest, something that makes you happy, and not your object of study, or your career in politics. enjoy it all for you, enjoy it offline as well. and then, i guess, if that doesn't do the trick, a few steps away from harry and all that surrounds him might be necessary to let go of the bitterness. bc you can also just stop liking something, and that's also okay

PATRICK GIBSON
Shadow and Bone's Patrick Gibson on becoming fan-favourite Nikolai Lantsov and the power of the Grisha fandom.
Words by Ella Bardsley
Season one of Shadow and Bone saw the world (willingly) catapulted into the Grishaverse, and the entrance of Nikolai Lantsov in season two definitely gave us a reason to return. Taking on one of the most beloved characters in Leigh Bardugo's novels, OA actor Patrick Gibson plays the Ravkan prince who spends a fair amount of time sneakily disguised as the infamous privateer, Sturmhond. No spoilers here, but the prince's future was left more than uncertain. Now that the second season of Shadow and Bone has come to a close, and we're waiting for confirmation on the third, we caught up with the 28-year-old actor on his preffered Grisha power, weirdest audition, and what he's looking for in his next role.
Ella Bardsley: Hey Patrick! What's been your most bizarre audition in your career thus far?
Patrick Gibson: That is tough. There have been some shockers. But nowadays a lot of the time you're doing self-tapes at home. Generally, the weirdest are doing intimate and romantic scenes with close friends or family. Ah yes, there have been a few of them. Nothing quite bests the acting skills like having to convincingly flirt with your own dad.
EB: What was your reaction when you first read the script for Shadow and Bone season two?
PG: I was excited. That's one of my favourite parts of the process. Getting to sit down with this crisp new script and discovering for the first time what exactlyy it is you're going to be doing for the nest few months and getting to dig out your character in more detail. I have been a big fan of our showrunner Eric Heisserer ever since he wrote Arrival , so it was awesome getting to read what him, Daegan Fryklind, and the incredible team of writers had created that first time.
EB: What has been the most surpraising fan reaction or interaction you've had since the release of the show?
PG: I have to say, it's always so lovely meeting or interacting with people who are fans of the show. You're often in a vacuum when you make something, and so to get to meet people who connect with it and are brought joy by it is really nice. A group of fans made a book for me with messages and pictures recently, and it was really touching.[*] They put a lot of work into it. And I'm also aware that it's not really about me. People are passionate about and love the character which is cool because I get to share that enjoyment with them.
EB: As an actor, what was the most challenging aspect of portraying Nikolai's character, and how did you approach it?
PG: Stepping into a character that is so loved by fans of the books is a daunting thing in itself. I found treading the line between honouring who he is on the page while allowing myself to add my own spin on it was one of the more challenging elements. For the most part though, I just had a lot of fun. There was absolutely some wishfulfillment in there for me. Playing a character who carries themselves in a carefree way is always fun and encourages you to make bold choices and let go.
EB: If you could switch roles with any other character in Shadow and Bone , who wolud it be and why?
PG: I honestly tried to think who, but everyone is so perfectly cast I couldn't imagine it any other way.
EB: If you could have any Grisha power from the series in real life, which one would you choose and how would you use it?
PG: I would say a Durast. I'd like to be able to build things, heal people, and manipulate objects on a molecular level.
EB: Do you find yourself delving into rabbit holes while you do research for a role? What's your creative process?
PG: I've found the process varies depending on the job, although it does always have similiarities. It always starts with the script, digging through it for clues. I find the best writing keeps giving you things the more time you spend with it. That process of digging is exciting, you might read the same line a few weeks in and are suddenly struck with a realisation or make a mental connection, I love when action has a physical element or a skill that's required to develop. It just means you get to spend more time with the character floating around the subconscious. I really do think as you're learning skills, if you have the character somewhere in mind, it solidifies it. You get to live with the character in a different way.
EB: What's your on-set pet peeves?
PG: I don't really have any! I have things that get me really excited to be on set. I mean, maybe people complaining? When people forget the privilege they have to be doing this job as an actor. I've felt both sides of it... being so hungry to work I would do anything, and being exhausted and fed up and wishing you had a 9-5. And yeah, it's still a job, but it's important not to lose sight of the joy of it.
EB: Finally, in what kind of role you want to see yourself next?
PG: Genre-wise, I don't have any particular preference, but I'm always looking for that thing I can get lost in. When you find something and know this is what you want to make your world for the next few months. I'm drawn to stuff that's intangible[?]** or seemingly "weird"[?]** stories that are given scale by the detail and care they're told with. There was a film recently called Full Time by Eric Gravel , which I think perfectly encapsulated that.
*[OP pauses the transcription to squeel with joy. Patrick is very likely refering to the fanbook gifted to him during ASOCAS 2 Empire Convention in Paris in May 2023. My artworks are in there, and he saw them, and his jaw dropped, and this is still the highlight of my life]
**[note: I can't decipher those two words from the pics, this is my best guess.]

Idc how or when they talk, I just need them to make up so Steve and Lucie can make up😭
this is lucie and ella making up, if we want Steve and Lucie making up then lets talk about that next!
The girls spoke because Mark and Ethan arranged for it. They each said that the other girl was in trouble and of course the best friends came running.
Ella saw Lucie stood talking to Mark and she couldn't help but embrace the girl "I am so sorry." Lucie began as she was knocked to the ground "you're okay!" Ella was relieved as she literally kissed the girls face.
Ethan and mark just sort of watched on "I have been a horrible friend." Lucie hadn't done a lot since the fall out as she continued feeling so guilty about it all "I think you have completed your punishment." Ella honestly got to the point where she felt like she was going crazy without her best friend around.
Literally all Ella did was not let Lucie go even as she finally figured out that the boys in front of them were her boys "shut up!" Lucie clasped her hands over her mouth as she giggled.
