Chapter 7 is here at last! We've mostly resolved things between Batman and Robin, so now it's time to start tackling Clark's uhhh... Well, his whole deal, pretty much. This chapter marks the beginning of the next phase of this fic. There's a little ways to go yet! (Jesus Christ how did this get so fucking long????)

The important thing is that you’re safe. And it’s my fault it ended up being this bad, really – I should have asked for help sooner.” Robin met his eyes curiously. “Why didn’t you?” Now it was Clark’s turn to feel awkward. “Well, honestly, I don't know. I wasn’t really thinking straight. I guess I…didn’t want to interrupt?” he said slowly. Robin’s eyes widened. Then he let out a soft giggle, his shoulders relaxing. “Man, no offense but that’s kinda dumb. B was right about you.” Clark’s curiosity was piqued. “What did he say about me?” “That you’re too nice for your own good,” Robin said. He was grinning now, edged with mischief. “He kept muttering it the whole drive back. And stuff about how stupid and reckless he thought you were.” “…Oh.” “Yeah. I think he likes you!” How’d you figure, Clark thought to himself dryly.
