😂 it is a choose violence game, let's play with fire 🔥 three Kim characterizations i don't much care for:

writing Kim as really old

like. hmmmm. i feel like a lot of fic out there is just really bad at characterizing young 20 yos, there are a lot of stories that write Kim's vibes like he's 38 yo or something. it's. bizarre. 21/22 yo is still so young. there's still so much uncertainty at that age and so much self-discovery to come. i've complained about this before so i don't want to just rehash that but. yeesh. some people really kinda suck at writing "kid in college" aged characters.

not letting Kim be playful

honestly, this one kinda follows on the previous point? there's a very annoying trend of writing ~older~ characters as only ever very serious. and like, aside from the irritation at the way people are really bad at early 20s vibes, people never outgrow playfulness. in canon, i'm pointing to Porsche trapping Kinn under the sheets and farting or them huffing their morning breaths in each other's faces (i love u canon ❤). but people still do ridiculous shit at 40/50/60/70/80/ALL THE AGES too. 40yo sisters who greet each other by punching the other in the boob. the 60yo neighbor who tells me my shoelaces are untied every time he sees me in sandals. the 50yo uncle who flicks popcorn in the mouths of anyone who falls asleep during movie night. there's no age limit to this sort of thing!

but while some of the ultra seriousness seems to be a weird age thing, it's like people also missed that Kim is playful? he's very intense when he's in mafia business mode and he's a nightmare to the guards (❤), but he plays along with Khun. he teases Chay. he has a good rapport with other university students. he can be more lowkey playful than others, but Kim's not made of stone, he has his fun too.

Wik being a burden on Kim

this one starts running into differences in headcanon-- like personally, i'm looking for fics where Wik is Kim's home. i've cried about this elsewhere so i'll keep it short, but Wik is the life Kim poured blood, sweat, and tears into to build up brick by brick. Wik is the life Kim wants, it's the parts of him he thinks are the best of him. i actually make the MC of the ep4 university one of Kim's best friends (i call him Green), and one of my favorite headcanons i've come up with for them is that everyone thinks Green twists Kim's arm into doing outreach events, but actually Green is Kim's connection to university news because he loves doing them but never knows who to ask. Kim desperately wants to be a source of good inspiration to others and have purpose outside of violence, and Wik is his way of doing that. Wik is not a burden on Kim (in fact, i'd argue Kim all but said he is a burden on Wik, but i digress).

so, that's my personal preference for Kim's relationship with Wik, but obviously not everyone's going to have the same characterization and that's cool. where i start to get annoyed is when people write him as very...hmm. dismissive? of it. or otherwise seems like he doesn't like any aspect of it. i straight up back click on any fic that has Kim fuck up the name of some popular musician. this is not a specific call out, but for example-- i remember reading something where there was this offhand line of Kim being like "and there's a request for a show with some other musician, wangson jack?" and just. no. back click, goodbye, nope. shit like that really starts to bug me. some of it is personal irritation at how awful a lot of english speakers are towards asian artists (which like. random fandom people are not at fault for the crimes of USamerican music reporters. but maybe consider that until people overall are less shitty and dismissive towards them, one off lines referencing real life musicians like this are better off deleted). but over all i just...really, really dislike disrespectful attitudes like that (esp for something related to the arts) and i don't want to read them in my favorite character. Kim is pursuing a career in the music industry for himself--Kim being, u know, Kim, he's going to take it very seriously and with that, also hold a lot of respect towards his fellow musicians generally speaking. at the very least, he's going to be cordial and pleasant with them because no one likes working with an asshole and Kim is trying to keep his mafia bullshit far away from his Wik goals. not everyone's going to have the same characterization headcanons i do for how much i think Kim would pour himself into music and love it, but i really don't vibe with any take where Wik is a burden on or a drag for Kim.

and a bonus ☕ because i luv u too anon: anything where Kim doesn't love his brothers or sees them as actual competition instead of the ones he wants to protect the most. this is not a surprise to anyone here, u all know how much i love brothers, but i've noticed that fandom gets kinda caught up in the chess metaphors sometimes. and to that i say: 1. Terry Pratchett yall: sin is when you treat people like things. 2. Terry Pratchett again: chess is a stupid ass metaphor for real life. 3. kp canon agrees with that. Korn is shit at playing chess. (the fucking. ep1 game. omfg. Chan is all but eating his pieces to let Korn win. i'm still howling over the scholars mate in ep5.) Korn is noticeably shit at all his hobbies that are metaphors for controlling people. which is the point! the boys fail every time they try to play his games, because you cannot play people like you would a game. every triumph is rooted in overturning the game board completely.

I'm working on a fic for this but I seriously don't know what order to put things in, or maybe I'm just lazy!!

I would like to think it makes most logical sense if:

They're fighting a lot during the Rome trip

A fight turns kinda steamy idk

They have a good night's sleep after thats over.

Henry's migraine has been coming on for a few days at that point but hits full force the next morning

BECAUSE Bunny is relatively more comfortable being closer to Henry now* he becomes even more entitled and snoops around for his diary cuz he's bored (I think Henry was bed ridden for a couple days at that point)

We all know, that like, Bunny didn't really care about the murder. I domt even think he cared about being left out. I think what REALLY got to him was the stuff Henry had written about him. We only know about "cuniculus molestus", which is relatively tame, but knowing the extent of Henry's annoyance with Bunny, I think its safe to assume he REALLY went in whenever he chewed Bunny out in his diary

Like, imagine you have a friend who you get very close to, thinking that you've made a nice connection with someone (which is rare for you). Then you start feeling like this friend, once you guys become close, is using you for your money. THEN this friend starts acting like an entitled brat and practically makes your life Hell.

I'm not saying Henry was obsessed to the point of just filling his diary with "raaarghhh i hate bunny he is so stupid dumb bitch" but whenever he WOULD write abt Bunny it would be callous, like, detached at best, cruel/insulting at worst.

*this is purely my headcanon, based on no like, factual evidence (yet) but I think Henry and Bunny were physically intimate way before the Rome thing, but they just never talked about it, or acknowledged it outside of the moment of close proximity (mainly because Bunny didn't want to face his possible bisexuality diagnosis and Henry just couldn't be arsed). Plus it happened rarely. I feel like they'd become more physically comfortable with each other immediately after they were intimate (caressing each others heads/petting one another, leaning on one another, like soft intimacy) but afterwards they'd kinda avoid one another for a few days, and especially avoid touching each other (like even the brush of a hand) because it would make Bunny uncomfortable (hes homophobic)

Based on this I think

Bunny felt even more entitled than usual to Henry's belongings and personal space, so he went snooping around his stuff when Henry was dead asf

Also, based on their already established intimacy, Henry mightve written some cruel things regarding the more intimate parts of their relationship/vulnerable aspects of Bunny.

Because I guess he was like, "Hes not ever going to read it so I can just vent my frustrations here) (WHICH, I had a whole theory a while back about how Henry intentionally left his diary around for Bunny to read....so maybe he wanted to get the ball rolling to have an excuse to get rid of Bunny) (that's a link)

But also. Theres another possible twist , like, what if Bunny found the diary first? And the fight that ensues after turns into something else purely because they're being vulnerable with one another in the moment.

Henry, in his desperation to get Bunny to shut the fuck up, and Bunny, in his explosive anger (also, cliche movie scene moment 🤓 Bunny won't shut up and Henry's afraid someone might hear them and he's also lowkey enjoying Bunny screaming at him (toxic) so he just grabs him and kisses him)

Honestly I wanna explore both scenarios in two separate one-shots BUT like, I don't wanna be repetitive w my fics like the people (my 2 readers) probably want something new (they don't care)

C: What character do you identify with most?

Barnabas! Just like the best NPC in Odyssey (I'm sorry to all my other beloved NPCs who I adore but he's my favorite), I love the ocean, mythology and stories, and am ride or die for my best friends. And I too would do anything for Kassandra 😂

G: Do you write your story from start to finish or do you write the scenes out of order?

Bit of both! I try to write mostly start to finish but I do end up jumping around a lot with some fics, especially when I get stuck on my current chapter or arc. Or if I'm writing the Children of Kephallonia, because I get way too excited about scenes a million years from my current chapter.

S: Any fandom tropes you can't resist?

I will always lose my mind for the friends to lovers and found family trope. Throw in an enemy to make it enemies to lovers, enemies to friends, enemies to found family, or enemies to friends to lovers, and that's lowkey even better. Or a fake dating scheme - whoops I'm just starting to describe your new fic, but in my defense it is hitting all my boxes 😂

Beyond that, I adore time travel fics. I just love the idea of someone getting a second chance to make things right and save their lost loved ones. I actually love it so much that I started writing a new time travel fix it fic even though I'm definitely not done with my first RIP. I also occasionally love a good modern au or crack fic too, but I'm also pretty picky about them too.

Also crossovers. I fucking love crossovers.

T: Any fandom tropes you can't stand?

I honestly kinda despise soulmark/soulbond/etc fics - like no offense to anyone who writes or likes them, but I love the build up of a relationship too much and I feel like that trope just kind of cheapens it. Also not a fan of AUs that are so far removed from the source material that it's a whole new cast of characters/story, but once again, no judgment to those who write/like them!

V: If you could write the sequel (or prequel) to any fic out there not written by yourself, which would you choose?

Reading this question made me forget literally every fic I've ever read.

Maybe it's a bit of a cop out to say, but I don't think I would ever want to write a sequel/prequel for someone else's fic! I think one of the best parts of reading is reading and falling in love with someone else's writing style and interpretation of the characters and so trying to write someone else's story in my style would just ruin the experience. So I will leave the writing the prequels and sequels to the original fic writers and leave a thousand kudos and comments instead!

The best ship you've written for MMMM I lowkey can't pick, this one either but I think CM!Y/N and Changmin are sUCH a win!!! Something I remember vividly from reading one of your fics THE DANCE SCENE IN OFF THE RECORD... the imagery was absolutely incredible and just loved that the thing that brought the lovers together led to their first kiss... What made me the most emotional after reading the presence fic u wrote for beomgyu... god the subtle sadness,,, hurt my soul SO good... What I like the most about your writing How defined you make the universes in ur fics! liu honestly felt so grounded, and it makes reading the continuity rlly easy across fics. A fic i'm excited for you updating/posting OUGH this is so hard to choose, im probably most hype for The Reveal and Hot Commodity rn.... just seeing the small snips in each of the other fics makes me SO tempted to know and read... but then i remember u haven't written them out to post yet and im like "oh." A character/ship I didn't enjoy/think about as much before you wrote about them Surprisingly Hyunjae and Chanhee! Esp after reading Simple Gifts,,, like ive always seen Chanhee more of like... bestie energy but that fic did a complete 180 for me and i was like "DAMN OK! Cute as fuck!"
