Uhm...in my own au, I think it starts off as him blaming himself, yeah. I don't think I really explored the very beginning though..hm. But after he loses Cassandra, then Raph, and then Donnie, I think he starts feeling more responsible more than anything else. Especially considering how Leo is now responsible for Cassandra's kid, and he initially co-led the resistance with Raph.

As it stands, I think Leo's progression goes like..blame -> worry -> anger -> guilt -> responsible

Do you think Strickler is scared more of Bular than Gunmar?

I mean with the pixie episode his fear was from Bular and the second chance episode where we saw his reaction to both Gunmar and Bular there he was from my opinion way scared of the son rather than the father

(Plus, to me, he was calmer with Gunmar with the whole staff thing than all his interactions with Bular in season 1)

You bring up a really interesting question, actually! I do believe that Strickler is/was more scared of Bular than Gunmar. And it makes sense, Gunmar was a background threat, he was inevitable to Strickler but not the one he had to fear. Bular was there physically, abusing him, and other changelings, both mentally and physically and if they did something wrong there would be no second chances.

Living that way for centuries is going to instill a very valid and stong fear. By the time Gunmar WAS out, Strickler's priorities had changed, and he wasn't so scared anymore.

oh most definitely.... I don't think he'd ever be possessive in a controlling kind of way, aki just really really loves you, and he's always scared he's going to end up losing you.

he makes sure that you'll be safe everywhere you go, he's always telling you, if anything happens, call me immediately, and I'll be right there. when you see him again, he's babbling about how much he missed you, how much he was worried about you, even if you were only gone for a few minutes. and although he'll never say it himself, he absolutely loves when you remind him that you're his, and no-one else's.

I also can imagine aki becoming addicted to marking you... he always wants some form of his mark on your body, something that proves his existence was there, that you belong to him. when the old hickeys and love bites he's left on your skin start to fade, he'll give you even more fresh ones, until you're covered in traces of him. and in that same vein, he loves it when you give marks to him — he'll let you give him hickeys everywhere you can manage, he'll lose his mind every time you leave scratches on his back that don't fade in the morning.

and as for being needy.... oh, aki is so damn needy for you. he's been so touch-starved for so long, so he yearns for every little bit of affection that you're willing to give him.

if you try to break away from a hug too soon, he's pulling you back in, quietly asking if you can hold him for just a bit longer. he calls you on the phone even in the late hours of the night, just because he needed to hear your voice. he needs your touch all the time, he's begging for it every chance he gets. he can't go anywhere without your hand in his, and he can't fall asleep unless he's holding you in his arms.

Grief is a river. Denial, anger, bargaining, depression. As soon as you register one, you feel yourself flit to the next, cycling back and around as soon as you make yourself some breathing room.

“No,” you shake your head. He shudders, physically, and you can feel the tear between you two as keenly as if living tissue had been cut from you. “You did this. Don’t feel guilty.”

“I’m sorry,” he echoes. His face tugs at your heartstrings.

Acceptance. Rain, washing over you, stinging where it touches but leaving new, clean skin behind. You close your eyes.

You see it plainly then, though you’re not sure he can. Kita Shinsuke can’t live without you. And you can no longer live with him.

First I would like to say that I find your responses to be well thought out and insightful and I appreciate the time and effort you take in crafting them.

That said, after today's reconciliation, and Trina putting her foot down, where do you think this storyline is headed?

Based on your use of "today" I'm guessing I'm a couple of days late seeing this, so sorry for the late response (blame it on holiday week shenanigans).

First of all, thank you for the kind words, I really appreciate them.

Now onto where I think the Trina and Spencer stuff is headed and, well, all signs point to POUND TOWN (I'm so sorry).

No but Spencer attempting to sex his way to redemption aside, I've been thinking a bit about the current arc for Trina and Spencer, especially in the aftermath of the New York stuff, because it feels a lot more intentionally written than the post-Greenland "arc".

In a lot of ways, the New York trip was like a "happily ever after". After two years of obstacles and miscommunication, Trina and Spencer finally express their love for each other. If this were a rom com, they'd roll the credits after the New York trip. But this is not a rom com, this is a soap, the story keeps going.

So now the story is no longer "Does Spencer love Trina?" or "Does Trina love Spencer?" They love each other, that's settled. They're in their "what now?" phase:

Like the classic ending in "The Graduate," there's all this uncertainty between Trina and Spencer. The only certain thing between them is that they love each other. They defeated all these external obstacles but are still dealing with the internal ones. I feel like the current arc for Trina and Spencer as a pairing is rooted in this idea of "is love enough?". For Spencer, that's a quick "yes". He thought everything was settled after New York and that any and all problems would wash away because they love each other.

For Trina, it's more complicated. She's not dreamy like Spencer, she's very grounded and forward thinking. All New York did for Trina was give her the confidence to take the idea of a future with Spencer seriously for the first time and then Spencer sort of screwed that up with his demon spawn spiral.

So I think a lot of this reconciliation era is going to be Spencer eagerly wanting to prove to Trina again that she can count on him because there's damage to her trust in him right now. I also see Spencer possibly clinging to his relationship to Trina more, both because he almost lost her and also as a way to distract him from the demon spawn of it all.

I'm sure we'll get a reaction from the sociopathic mooch as her plan to get Spencer to chase her backfires again thanks to Trina but I really don't give a shit about her redundant ass anymore so 🤷🏿‍♀️.

I'm hoping during this time that in between all the holiday sex, Spencer starts thinking about his own future and who he wants to be beyond Nik's son/Trina's boyfriend. This is what Trina was getting at with the "five year plan" stuff. Her passion makes her naturally excited for the future in a way that Spencer isn't, and that's something they have to sort through.

I do think this all has to culminate in some sort of reunion between Spencer and Nik because Nik looms over all of this and Spencer facing his issues with his father is too significant to his arc to not be dealt with.

But yeah, in general, I think the reconciliation arc is going to be about Spencer trying to prove to Trina that he was serious about them being an "us". The ball is really in his court since we know that Trina has landed on the decision that she won't drown with him on the basis of "true love."

Spencer put Trina back into a "one foot out the door" headspace, thinking those days were over and he could do/say whatever because she admitted she loves him. It's up to him to get her out of self-preservation mode and trusting him again. So for now, I'm thinking tentative holiday-based honeymoon period with the angst over their internal obstacles still looming over things.

Where to begin?

I really like the connection I have with other women, the knowledge that if a guy was being creepy to me I can be confident in knowing another girl would help me out because that could have been one of us. Like it’s fucked that we have to go through that but in this universal experience we come together strong and we protect each other when we can. It’s a sort of solidarity you know?

Other than that, I find women to be so beautiful and strong. The media (a lot in the past when I was growing up but still applicable now too I’d say) likes to portray women as helpless and catered to a man and his personal growth. But a woman’s personal growth is so wonderful to see and she does it all by herself. She pulls herself up and she transcends the rigid expectations society has placed on her. Everyday in the little things she is strong.

Hello, just stumbled on your art and musing, and just - love'em both. Since you like asks, a kinda different one - for whenever you've the time. One thing I think is... Maybe not missing in Oblivion and Skyrim, but I think there could be more of, are creatures, people, or entities that fit the thematic role Sleepers fit in Morrowind. If you had the ability to introduce an element like that into Oblivion and/or Skyrim, what would it be..?

While I do think that like. Sleepers are a bit. TOO unique of a role to be recreated as the a Sleeper, in my opinion, is unique to Morrowind’s entire situation with Dagoth Ur invading people’s dreams and influencing their thoughts through Ash Statues, the closest I could think of to something somewhat similar is a dragon cultist. They could be enthralled by magic from the Dragon Priests, or even turning to worship out of fear from the end of the world? I think that there ARE actually similar beings in Skyrim to Sleepers in the form of the Miraak cultists, who are very likely enthralled by Daedric influences (or smth, idk lol) and that leads me into Daedric magic and Oblivion, while I don’t really care much about Oblivion (I do like it, I just think the main questline is a tad dull) I think it’s much easier to incorporate creatures similar to sleepers, either enthralled by daedric magic or by Mankar Camoran or whatever. But those are my thoughts.
