arms of a careful lover
Tumblr media
You didn't know how he was, the stranger driving you home. He knew you, knew all about your life, and his picture-perfect ideal of you. As you traveled through the town of Hawkins, you couldn't help, but ask yourself 'Who The Fuck is Eddie Munson'?
cw: smut, sexual tension, riding, oral, AFAB reader, fem!reader, p in v sex, cursing, etc. 4.9k+ words.
The music in the dark bar room was overpowering, filling your senses, tingling in the back of your mind. It was hot—sticky, your clothes not sparing you the freedom of movement as your leather dress felt glued to your skin. You had lost your friend at one point, hearing something about ‘another drink’ about half an hour ago.
Searching for her in the dark red lighting was impossible, faces blending together as the alcohol seeped into their bloodstream. Your back hit firm muscle, two ringed hands coming up to stop you from tumbling onto the wet floor.
Turning around, you were met with the deepest shade of brown you could think of, long lashes encasing them. His hair was long, curly and full, bangs sticking to his forehead with the dampness of the air.
“You alright?” The stranger shouted over the music, the dull thud of the bass banging in your chest. You nodded dumbly, a ghost of a smile on your face as you stood in front of him.
A look similar to your own crept up on his face, smile lines forming on his cheeks as he blinked down at you.
“I’m such a dunce sometimes,” you laughed, voice raised as you leaned into him. Strong cologne hit you, a faint hint of marijuana seeping out of his clothes. “Sorry, man.”
The man shook with a silent laugh, his head swaying side to side as he excused you. “You’re fine, don’t worry about it.”
He moved to leave, hands leaving your shoulders as he stepped to your side. Disappointment tugged at your emotions, teeth gritting as you watched him walk away from you. You called after him, a shouted ‘wait!’ getting lost in the crowd as you watched him disappear into throes of people. His scent lingered in the air, the smell of strong aftershave the only memory you have of him.
Seemingly dumbfounded you stood there for a second, lip jutted out as you searched for sight of him again, standing on your toes as you looked through the crowds. He was long gone by now, a stranger in the darkness as you gave up, sigh escaping you.
Making your way to the front of the building, you stepped outside, feeling the cool air hit your body. A bouncer was out front, arms clasped in front of him as he stared in front of him, unfocused on anything in particular.
“Got a pay phone?” You asked, following the direction in which he pointed. A few feet away, it stood. Picking it up, you pressed it to your ear, silence meeting you as there was no dial tone. Finger hitting the switch, you grew frustrated, realizing the phone wasn’t in working order.
Storming back over to the bouncer, you pointed a finger at him.
“Why would you not tell me it doesn’t work?”
He shrugged, choosing not to look at you as his gaze remained hard. As you took a step towards the building, his hand shot out to stop you, opposite hand pointing at a huge sign to his left.
‘NO RE-ENTRY’, the sign read, in bold, red letters. Closing your eyes in frustration, you silently cursed him. You walked away, hand dipping into your purse as you searched for cash, hopes of getting a cab sitting in your chest. That feeling disappeared as you realized your wallet had been snagged at a point in the night, your fingers coming up empty.
Leaning against the side of the building, your leg was kicked up to support you, heeled boot digging into the chipped brick. Your arms were crossed in front of you, palms rubbing over your arms to warm yourself up.
A few people piled out of the bar, the hour ticking closer and closer to closing time. Thirty minutes had to have passed, no sight of your friend amongst the people leaving. As you watched the group of strangers, the same boy from before—the pretty one—walked in front of you, hair flowing behind him as he tossed a pair of keys into the air.
“Hey!” You shouted, kicking off of the wall to jog up to him. He turned, confused as the click of your boots hit the asphalt. You waved a hand at him, the sting of the cold air reddening your cheeks.
He looked at you in anticipation, face turned up in confusion as you stopped in front of him, weight shifting from side to side.
“You think you could spare me a ride?” You asked, feeling bold in front of this stranger. He looked at you up and down, then sent a quick glance around himself.
“Are you talking to me?” His voice was deep, deeper than you expected.
Laughing, you nodded, pointing to his keys. He glanced at them, gaze lingering as confusion was still evident on his face.
“My friend ditched me, and my mom’s going to kill me if I’m not back before her night shift ends,” you said, beginning to shake as the cold air hit your exposed skin. The leather mini dress you were sold on earlier didn’t seem like a good idea at the moment. “So… please?”
He stayed silent, eyes studying you as you looked around, watching people move around the parking lot. It was growing windy at this point, fallen leaves stirring on the ground. People began to make haste, rushing into cars as the weather worsened.
“I… I don’t think that’s a good idea,” he said, voice quick as he took a step back from you. Your heart sank, rejection souring your taste. “Sorry, man.”
He pressed his lips together in an apology to you, turning around quickly as he began to walk away. His converse scuffed at the ground, hands dipping his pockets as he made it a few feet in front of you.
Watching him walk away made your heart ache, your escape plan from this desolate area getting further away. You didn’t know what you were going to do at this point, money lost, not a single phone in sight. Walking wasn't an option, the buildings of the inner city miles away from you.
As you began to turn away, the man’s pace slowed, feet coming to a halt as his back was turned to you. Head cocking to the side, you stood confused, watching as his head tilted up to look at the night sky. You heard him mumble something from the few feet away, foot stomping underneath him before he turned back around, eyes making contact with yours.
His gaze was sincere as you waited for him to say something, his fingers curling at his sides as he looked full of nerves.
“I live on Millrose,” you shouted to him, seeing his teeth begin to chew at his bottom lip. Nodding, he sighed, hand beckoning you closer.
You followed his instruction, smug smile crossing your face as you approached him.
“Just promise not to kill me?” He said as the two of you began to walk towards a van. You laughed, quickly glancing at him as you took sight of the dark vehicle.
“You seem to be projecting.”
Snorting out a laugh, his key unlocked the passenger door, his hand coming out to swing it open for you. With the door open, you turned towards him, looking up at him as his height towered over yours.
“I mean, look at me,” You said, hand resting on your hip. “I don’t think I’d do much damage.”
He seemed nervous in the moment, eyes moving quickly as they flitted over your body. His eyelids fluttered rapidly as he gulped slightly, fingers tapping against the open door.
You raised an eyebrow at him as you slid into the seat, heart beating faster as the door closed behind you.
He drove fast. Metallica blasting over the stereo as his fingers drummed against the steering wheel. You gripped the safety handle, hand pressed to the dash as he maneuvered the streets of Hawkins. A prayer sat on the edge on your lips, curses instead flowing out whenever he took too sharp a turn.
“What brings you out here?” He said over the music, hand shooting out to lower it. You briefly glanced at him, heart lunging as he slammed the brake at a stop sign.
“The band,” you began, tugging at your seatbelt to make sure it was secured. “It was the last show I heard they’re playing in Indiana, and I missed the one last year.”
He threw a face at you, mouth wide open. “The band?”
You matched his expression, growing self conscious at his question. “What about it?”
“I dunno if I believe you,” he scoffed, head shaking. “I’ve never heard of a girl like you into heavy metal, its, like, impossible, man.”
It was your turn to laugh, a small gasp coming up as he sped up to run a yellow light. His words confused you, the ‘like you’ lingering in your mind. He barely made it, red flashing briefly as he crossed the intersection.
“Hate to break it you, but…” Your voice dropped to a low whisper, leaning into him as you raised your hand, fingers wiggling in the air as if you were casting a spell. “We exist.”
A blush crossed his face, cheeks filling as his eyes squinted up.
“Okay, okay… don’t make me sound like a total jerk here.”
“You did it to yourself. I’m just saying.” Your tone was light as you teased him, enjoying the way his face lit up at your jokes.
He was quiet for a moment, car rolling to a stop as a red light ticked in the dark. No cars passed by, the only sign of life being a street sweeping crew, cleaning an area of the downtown side walk in the late hours. You chose to relax in that moment, sinking into the soft cushion of the seat.
“If you’re into the same things as me, how come you’ve never said hi?” His voice was almost inaudible. Glancing at him, his eyes were fixated on the red light, waiting for it to change. That same light look was on his face still, eyebrows slightly raised as humour grazed his features. You waited for the punchline to drop, this stranger in front of you urging nothing out of you.
“What d’you mean?”
“At school,” he said, making eye contact with you as you stared into his eyes. You furrowed your brow, trying to recognize him.
“You go to Hawkins?” You don’t remember ever seeing him, memory sifting through faces you see on a daily basis. Nothing rings a bell, not a single recollection of ever seeing the boy before.
He laughed at you, turning back to the road as he pressed the gas. The van sputtered as it accelerated, gravel crushing as he continued through downtown.
“We have, like, three classes together, Yn,” he said, shaking his head in disbelief as your mouth dropped open. Heat began to colour your cheeks. “You’re friends with Carol, Tommy H. Hawkins royalty, man.”
His voice dropped to a mocking tone as he relayed the names, continuing his speech, “I’m just surprised you’d even be caught dead at something like this.”
Your mouth opened and closed as you tried to think of what to say. Swallowing around nothing, you turned your body towards the dash.
“Let alone caught with me. Imagine what the school would say… what the town would say,” his hand rose to move in front of him, as if he was reading a line from a newspaper. “Resident sweetheart led to murder van of town freak, Eddie Munson. Read more, page six.”
You let out a giggle, his own laughter in harmony with your own.
“Oh shut up, that would never happen.” You didn’t acknowledge the fact that there was a bit of truth in what he said, your popularity did threaten to be shattered if anyone even knew you enjoyed the metal sound of music.
A look was shot your way, his eyes rolling at your words.
“You know it’s the truth,” he said, turning onto a main road. “Such a shame, we never got to hang out. If I knew you were cool, maybe my idea of you would’ve changed earlier.”
Your eyes ran over him, watching the way his curly hair sat over his shoulders, a thick mane that accentuated his manly features. You imagined what it might have been like to know him on a different level, to have met him under different circumstances. His words had you thinking, wondering what idea of you remained in his mind.
“Hey… you said Millrose, right? We should be 10 minutes out,” he threw at you, looking for confirmation.
A beat passed, you slow blinking at him as you failed to nod.
“Yn?”
Clearing your throat, your heart began to race as you spoke your next words, “We could hang out now at your place.”
The vehicle swerved slightly to the right, an over correction that had you slamming into the door. Hissing, you pushed against it, seeing the way Eddie whipped his head to you.
“Huh?” His voice was tight, a slightly higher pitch.
You blushed, tucking a strand of hair behind your ear.
“I know it’s almost 2 am, but I don’t have to be home for a few more hours,” you said, voice small as you anticipated his rejection. You didn’t know why you felt nervous, asking out boys was your thing. “We could make up for lost time.”
He didn’t know what to say for a moment, face contorting as he processed your suggestion. You couldn’t help but know that your words had a different meaning, the late hours of the night not welcoming just a friendly conversation.
“You.” He pointed a ringed finger to you, knuckles white on the steering wheel. “Want to come to my place.” The finger turned on himself, digging into the white of his shirt. His question turned into a statement, disbelief evident.
“I have, like, 6 siblings,” you laughed, shaking that idea out of your mind. “There’s no way you’re coming to mine.”
“You want to come to my place?” He repeated his question, voice higher as he drove. Glancing at the streets, you knew the direction had changed, him driving towards his own place before his mind could even catch up.
“Eddie, if you say that one more time-” Your laughter kicked up as he punched the gas, speeding down the dark streets of Hawkins. He seemed to have caught up now, words getting lost in his throat.
Before you knew it, a trailer lot appeared in the distance, homes scattered in various places, clotheslines hanging between them. You had never been in this part of town before, your ignorance not allowing you to realize that people did have vacancies here.
Eddie saw your wandering gaze, rolling to a stop in front of his place. Nervous in his own rite, he reached up to twist a curl between his fingers.
“Well, it’s not the Four Seasons, but my uncle’s out,” he said, glancing at anything but you. You smiled at his anxiousness, finding it endearing.
“I don’t care about that kind of stuff, Eddie.”
He scoffed at your words, eyes rolling with humour as he jumped out of the van. You followed his lead, stumbling slightly as the gravel crunched under your boots. Following him up to the door, you noticed the way he fumbled with his keys, having to try two, three times to get it unlocked.
It was spacious inside, dark furniture and fishing hats littering the walls. You could tell it was a man cave, the sign of a woman missing for years. Walking over to a framed picture on a side table, you ran your fingers over it, Eddie standing in front of tree with a serious look, head cocked to the side with a black DIO shirt on.
His throat cleared behind you, Eddie scratching at the back of his head as he tried to subtly kick a discarded shirt underneath a desk, out of your vision.
“You want something? Uh, water? Alcohol, weed, anything?” He scrambled towards the kitchen area, fridge thrown open as he rifled through the contents. Glasses clinked together, something falling as he cursed.
Taking a seat on the couch, you shook your head. “I don’t do any of that.”
His head popped up over the counter separating you, eyebrows disappearing behind his bangs. The fridge swung shut behind him as he looked around, slowly making his way over to you.
He stood in front of you, your heart racing as you looked at him through long lashes. The angle had you appreciating his beauty, cut short as he moved to sit.
“But… you’re friends with…”
“Doesn’t mean shit. It’s not my thing,” you shrugged, placing both hands on your knees. He nodded, an awkward silence settling on you two.
A small smile crossed your face, the awkward air lingering heavy on you two. Eddie whistled, sighing periodically as you glanced around the place, hands tapping on your exposed legs. You didn’t know how much time had passed, Eddie settling his back against the couch as you sat upright.
“What did you think of me?”
“Why did you want to come here?”
You and Eddie spoke at the same time, your words becoming jumbled over each other as you shared a deep shade of red of your cheeks. Making eye contact, he let out a chuckle, hand motioning to you. You pressed the back of your hand to your mouth, laughing silently at the situation.
“You first.”
The words were shared again, both of your voices intertwining. Eddie jokingly rolled his eyes, leaning closer to you as he lowered his voice. You noticed his lips were bright red, becoming wet as his tongue darted out briefly.
“Okay, now this is getting weird.” He stretched his legs in front of him, foot bumping against yours before you snatched it back, heart racing at the contact. He raised an eyebrow, glancing down at your leg.
“You first,” you answered, trying to cover it up as you cleared your throat. You turned your body towards him, leg tucked underneath you as one elbow was propped up on the back of the couch. “I’m the guest.”
“That doesn’t make any sense,” he tried, but failed miserably at trying not to stare at you. His deep eyes running over your exposed collarbones.
“I wanted to come here because I want to get to know you. You seem… cool.” Your own words failed at your attempt to remain normal, noticing the way his chest hitched slowly when you outstretched your hand, fingers running over the small stretch of the couch between you.
“Just cool?” Glancing down at his mouth once again, you turned to look away as he noticed the movement. He seemed more nervous after the gesture, repeating the motion of his tongue over his lip. His head cocked even further, legs widening as he settled further into the couch.
You nodded, mind blanking as you looked at him. Subconsciously, you scooted closer to him, the tension between the two of you thickening. His head leaned back against the couch, the expanse of his neck looking enticing in the moment.
"And what did you think of me?" You asked, curious at his statement earlier. 'My idea of you would've changed' kept repeating in your head, not sure whether or not you should feel offended or not by it. It's not like you should care anyways, this man did not exist to you a couple of hours ago, but you did. You had wished you met this man earlier, your temptation to have him pulling at your core.
"I thought..." His voice trailed off, kicking up at the end of the word as your hand brushed his thigh. Glancing down quickly, you repeated the motion, manicured hand coming up to tug at one of his belt loops. You felt bold, nerves leaving you as you realized he may have wanted this too. Whatever this was.
"What did you think?" You asked again, eyes trained on the jean material beneath your finger tips. You dipped a finger in his pocket, tugging on it as his hips shifted beneath your touch. A bulge was becoming present, material growing tighter. A blush covered your cheeks, nerves returning again as you refused to make eye contact.
"That, uh..." He cleared his throat, bringing a finger to his mouth to sink his teeth into. The hand smacked into his thigh, chocked, sharp inhale being taken. "Thought you were a good girl, you know? Miss, uh, goody two-shoes."
You laughed at his words, hand grazing quickly over his bulge. He took an even sharper inhale, mouth dropping open in a silent gasp. Looking up at him through your lashes, you smirked.
"You still think that, Eddie?" Your voice was a whisper, cutting through the air as he made eye contact with you. His tongue poked at the corner of his mouth, running over his teeth as he gave a quick shake of his head.
A beat passed between the two of you, Eddie's hungry stare bore into your own, your hand still on his thigh. You opened your mouth to speak, teeth bumping into your bottom lip as you stumbled over the words to say.
Eddie lunged at you, hands coming up to rest on your cheeks as you moaned, sitting up on your knees to get better access. It was a clash of teeth and tongue, messy as you climbed over him, swinging a leg over his lap. Moving with a fervor, he licked into your mouth, giant hands cupping your jaw, your hands running over his chest as you pulled at the vest he wore. Wrapping an arm around you, he didn't pull from the kiss as he sat up, allowing you to yank the material off of his body.
You grinded against him, leather mini dress pushed up to your hips as the thick jean material ground into you. Eddie groaned, pulling away slightly to reach down to unbutton his jeans.
His fingers fumbled as he struggled, pressing chaste kisses to your lips. You tugged at his hair, licking up the breathy moans he let out at each pull.
"You ever done something like this before, Eddie?" You breathed against his mouth, pulling up your dress as the button popped loose. His hands paused as his eyes shot open to look at you, panting, heavy out of breath.
He nodded, leaning back into the couch as you pressed a hand to his chest. Raising, he went to kiss you again, only to be pushed down as you gyrated your hips over his.
He whined at the touch, curses flowing from his lips as he placed his hands on your hips, guiding the motion. A wave of heat was sent to your core, wetness dampening the thin material of your underwear.
He nodded at your question, hair shaking in all different directions as you bounced slightly, enjoying the way he fit perfectly in the dip of your pussy.
"Yea-yeah, I have," he said, and you weren't sure if he was lying. Smirking, you raised to your knees, lifting your bum to pull his pants down his hips. He followed your movement, hips raising as the material slid down his thighs. Stopping mid-thigh, you pulled his boxers down, mouth watering at the sight of his cock, swollen and red at the head, dripping in anticipation.
"You want to show me?" You asked, getting off of him to kneel in front. You placed both hands on his thighs, mouth opening to drool against him. Eddie moaned at the feeling, hand coming up to grip at your hair. "Since I'm such a good girl and all?"
"You're such a fuckin-" He began to say before lacing his fingers behind your head, urging your mouth on his cock. You tried laughing around it, mouth full as he pushed you down. Closing your eyes, you choked on him, feeling him hit the back of your throat.
Fucking into your mouth, he let out chocked gasps, head being thrown back as his hands guided your mouth. The pace was too quick, wetness dripping down your chin, onto his balls, the entire ordeal becoming more and more messy. Your eyes rolled back, loving the way he was using you, squelching of his cock in your mouth filling the air.
"Fuck," he moaned, hips pumping up to meet the guidance of his hands half way. You flattened your tongue, gagging loudly as he shoved all the way in. "If anyone could see you right now."
You moaned louder, hand leaving his thigh as you reached down between your legs. You were dripping wet, underwear soaked as he fucked your mouth. Rubbing small circles against your clit, you couldn't help but begin to thrust your own hips against your hand.
"You're so- ah, shit, your mouth feels so g- so fucking good," he moaned, thrusts becoming more rapid. Your fingers against your own clit sped up to match his pace, white hot pleasure filling your body with warmth.
"I'm gonna-" He whined, pulling you off of him with a yank of your hair. Your mouth was half open in a smirk, saliva dripping off of your chin as you looked up to him. His gaze grew dark, eyes rolling in pleasure as he pulled you up to him.
His cock pressed against his abdomen, angry red at the ruined orgasm.
"I need you to cum inside me," you whispered, crawling up to him as you settled in his lap once again. His hands found your hips, your underwear pushed to the side as you hovered over him.
Cock nudging inside you, the two of you mewled at the feeling, you stretched wide with a burn, him encased in the warmness of your cunt. You sank onto him, firmly seated in his lap, his hands rubbing small circles onto your lower back.
His shirt was still on, white tee pushed up to his chest as he sank lower on the couch. You adjusted to the feeling of him, pressing your lips to his as he squeezed his eyes shut in pleasure.
"I can't- I have to move- I'm gonna-" His words didn't make sense, coming out jumbled as you began to ride him, hips moving up and down on his cock as pants escaped his lips. The head of his cock nudged deep against that sensitive spongy spot, your moans becoming louder.
With your head thrown back in ecstasy, you couldn't help, but lean in towards that white hot feeling lingering in your abdomen. Eddie began to thrust underneath you, meeting you halfway as you became more cock drunk.
"You're so perfect, fuck, you're so perfect, so perfect," he muttered praises under his breath, eyebrows knitted together as he picked up his pace. The sound of slapping skin dominated in the room, grunts and your high pitched moans following close behind.
"Eddie," you drawled out his name, the last thrust sending you over the edge, your orgasm shaking your legs as he fucked you through it. You seated yourself on him, hands pressed to his chest as you hunched over, head pressed into the white cotton, hips moving on their own as he stuttered his hips.
His own orgasm followed short, a low moan that he breathed into your hair, your name on his lips. Catching your breath, you whimpered at the feeling of him sinking even further into you, jumping up at your cervix being pressed.
"Here, I'm sorry, here," he spoke in small phrases as he lifted you off of him, moving in one motion to pull his boxers up and lay you next to him. You rested your cheek against his thigh, curling into yourself as you tried pulling your dress down over your ass with one hand.
His hand ran over your back, small circles over the length of skin as you leaned into the touch. You angled your head to look at him, giggling as he stared down at you, fucked out look on his face.
"Was that okay?" You asked, turning so you laid on your back. He nodded dumbly, hair following over his face.
"That was perfect, man," he smiled sheepishly as you laughed, hand coming up to smack his chest at the name he threw you. He was so Eddie, the new character that you happened across.
"We should, uh.. go out," he confessed, nerves returning to his face as you looked up at him. Your eyebrows shot up at the offer, his face covered in horror as he tried to clear up what he just said. "Not like now, no, no, no--not now. Unless you'd want to- but, no... we could, uh... maybe it's a bad idea."
You sat up, pressing a kiss to his mouth as he stumbled through his words. Feeling him relax into you, his breathing evened, lips moving languidly. Pulling away, you rubbed your thumb against his cheekbone, smiling at the way his eyes crinkled at the corners with his own matching smile.
"I want to," you said, pressing a quick kiss to his nose. He blushed, smug look crossing his face as his tried to conceal his beam of affection. "You better wine and dine me after this. I didn't put out for nothing."
He laughed again, kissing you as his arms come to embrace you. "How does a shitty dive bar sound?"
Grin wide with the expanse of your teeth, you shook your head at him, "Sounds perfect, Munson."
an: first Eddie fic, lets celebrate, woooo. its a quick one (in my terms, you know I love the buildup). but lmk if this is something that you guys want more of.

This look RAHHHHHH
Your relationship with your boss was an odd one. It was obvious to everyone in the precinct that you and the detective were more than just boss and secretary. But you would never admit that, and August D had a weird way of showing his fondness. It was the same way every workday—come in at 6:30, find the detective already at his desk, make him coffee, start the day. He would fuss and scold you for little things, make excuses to stay at your desk and talk to you.
You two kind of danced around each other, an unspoken possessive from the detective, and you playing coy until he finally fesses up that he likes you.
He storms out of his office while you’re scheduling his next meeting.
“Didn’t I tell you not to mix up these documents?” he says, holding up a manila file folder. He looks quite frustrated, cigarette hanging loosely from his mouth, suit jacket off and sleeves rolled past his forearms.
Yelling at you like this does virtually nothing in his favor—if anything it just makes you rub your thighs together. “I’m sorry sir,” you smooth out, batting your eyelashes up at him. “I thought your desk needed some tidying, and you were out in a case so..” He gives you a pointed look. “That doesn’t give you a reason to touch anything in my office. If I want you to tidy anything of mine, I’ll ask you to.” You nod, turning your attention back to the computer screen in front of you.
“Did you schedule my meeting with Captain Jung?” He asks, leaning over the front of your desk. You can feel him staring into your forehead, almost trying to make you squirm in your seat. “Of course sir, I just finished. Your meeting is for 4:30 today.” “Good.” He gives you one last long look over before pushing off your desk and walking back into his office.
You look up from your computer, staring at the deep mahogany that separates you and your boss. “Y’know, we have a running bet pool on which of you is gonna confess first.” Your coworker, Su-min slides over to your desk and props her hand under her chin. “What are you talking about? There’s nothing going on between me and him,” you sigh. “Sure. Tell it to the rest of us.” She chides back. “Don’t you have a case to be doing right now? That missing girl right? How long has it been?” “About a week or so. I really hope we can find her alive, but it’s starting to look grim.” She grimaces. “I hope you end up finding her either way—“
“Y/N! My office, now!”
Suddenly his door was cracked, and you could see him walking back to his desk, waiting for you.
You turn to Su-min and grimace. “Duty calls. Tell me about the case after I get done with this.” She grins at you. “Don’t start fooling around in there, keep it PG!” You roll your eyes, standing from your desk and walking into the detective’s office.
“You called for me detective?” You answer sweetly. “Sit. I have something to talk to you about.” You sit in one of the leather chairs in front of his desk, feeling his eyes on you the whole time. He gets up and rounds the front of his desk, leaning against it to look at you better. “We’ve known each other for quite sometime now,” he starts, arms folded and head down. He smirks. “You and I both know that I’ve been dancing around you these past years-“ “Is that what you call it sir?” He pauses. “Excuse me?” “Is that what you call it, this situation I mean. I was very aware of your feelings about me from the day we met sir. The whole precinct knows how you act around me.” “..I’ve been that bad at hiding it then?” “Pretty much.”
He sighs. “I know I haven’t been…vocal..about my feelings for you. I’d like to fix that. Do you want to go to lunch with me sometime?” You smile at his bluntness. He’s always been bad with words like this, saving his poetical vocabulary for high-stress situations with criminals. “What’s so funny?” He asks, brow raised, smile on his face. “You are. You’re so bad with words sir..” You giggle. He leans down, gripping either side of the arms on the chair. He’s so close to you now, noses almost touching. “I am, hm? And that’s funny?” You nod. He chuckles. “I’m looking forward to getting to know you.” “Lunch right? What time?” “Lunch time.” You grimace. “Well, I assumed that much. 12 or 1?” “12:30.” “12:30 it is. I’ll mark it on your personal calendar.”
He lifts himself from his position, rounding his desk again and sitting in his chair. He stares at you longingly. “I’d suggest you get back out there. Wouldn’t want to keep the office waiting on who won that bet.” You chuckle. “Yes sir.”

Fill in the gaps (and i'll fill yours)
10,1k words | Explicit
“This is so wrong,” Buck said, glancing between Eddie and the window. “Oh my god, this so wrong.”
“Will you stop?” Eddie muttered, turning the steering wheel to the left. The cars all piled to the sides, clearing the street for them. He lifted his hand, thanking them silently.
Buck hid his face in his right hand, spying through the gaps of his fingers. “Did you have to turn on the siren?”
“Stop worrying!”
“Easy for you to say. This is your first rodeo,” he mumbled, his eyebrows raised. “I already faced Bobby’s wrath about this. Got fired, actually.”
— OR 5 times Buck and Eddie mess around at work +1 time it almost gets them fired.

Imagine Luis trying to help you finish your work but you end up getting distracted by him instead.
Tumblr media
Warning: suggestive themes and mild sexual content 😘 look away, minors.
.
.
The dull clunk of ceramic on a hard surface placed beside you nearly makes you jump from your seat. It was a hot drink, steam rises from within its liquid contents and a delicious aroma fills your senses invitingly. You look up to see the amused look of Luis Serra grinning knowingly at your mild surprise.
“Another late one, eh?” He had his own mug in his hand, taking short sips as he leaned against your table casually. His white lab coat was open, revealing a partially unbuttoned white collar shirt and dark blue jeans. The open coat flowed down the length of his form, accentuating his tall frame. His grey eyes ran down your hunched posture before rising to meet your exhausted gaze.
It was just the two of you in the lab, everyone else had already gone home for the day. You were both in the same research department and were leading your own projects. When it came to biochemical and pharmaceutical research, Luis was a genius in the field, same as you. It was actually how you two grew close. Your line of work makes you both linger in the lab long after the sun has already set until it was only the two of you left. These frequent, private moments in the shared space would then be filled with meaningful conversations and playful banter. You learned quickly then that Luis was a serial flirt, but he possessed a gentlemanly charisma that did not deter you from engaging him further. In fact, you welcomed his attentions.
One day, he asked you out and you two have been officially dating since. The both of you were mindful to keep your personal lives out of the workplace, wanting to maintain a sense of professionalism between you in front of your peers. Thankfully, none of your fellow coworkers caught on to your affairs so you were able to carry on with your respective works as normal.
You reply to him with a groan, burying your tired face in the palm of your hand. “Have to file another report for Wesker, apparently there’s some big meeting tomorrow morning-” you turn your wrist to glance at your watch, completely crestfallen at the lateness of the hour. “This is going to take forever.”
The Spaniard frowns, a flash of genuine pity in his eyes before they alight with an idea. “How far are you along?”
“About three more pages to go.” It didn’t sound like a lot, but the amount of information that you needed to provide is not only lengthy in detail, but also time consuming as you must include multiple references from other reports as well. And since you were the last person in your team still in the building, it fell on you to make sure that it was concise and perfect. The pressure from that thought alone made your grimace deepen.
“Perhaps, I can offer my assistance,” Luis says, pulling you from your downtrodden thoughts.
You glance at him, visibly touched by his considerate intent but dubious, “Thanks, but you weren’t working on this project, Luis. You don’t have the necessary information to provide meaningful insight for my report.”
He nods, “Correcto. But that wasn’t what I was offering.”
This piqued your interest. “Oh? Then how exactly are you planning on helping me?”
“Dos palabras,” he lifts his hand and extends one finger in the air after another. “Positive. Reinforcement.”
Your intrigue only amplified at his words and still you couldn’t make heads or tails of what he actually means. “So basically a reward system,” you say slowly.
“¡Sí!” The man chimes with infectious enthusiasm. “Right now, you have no motivation to finish your work, yes? If there was, say, something to look forward to, then you would be more inclined to finish. And, ideally, at a faster rate. ¿Comprende?”
“I get you, but.. what would that even entail? What are you giving me?”
The Spaniard shrugs, his characteristic smirk gracing his handsome features. “Guess you’ll have to finish this current page to find out. Chop chop, my dear.”
With a swift clap on your back, Luis retreats from your side to return to his own desk on the other end of the laboratory. Your eyes followed his stride and lingered on his form long after he sat down with his back towards you. You wondered what sort of “positive reinforcement” he had in mind for you.
You shake your head, choosing not to linger on that tempting thought. You had a report blaring at you through your computer screen that needed your undeniable attention and you were only halfway done through the current page. With a determined roll of your stiff shoulders, you went back to work.
After nearly half an hour, you finally finished the hellish portion of the report. Much sooner than you had anticipated. “One down!” you said aloud with a triumphant smile.
Luis perks up at your declaration and rises from his work desk to return to your side. His eyes scan over the document. “Hey, this isn’t bad. Muy bien.”
“Thanks, Luis.” Your mood lifts ever so slightly at his warm praise. “Just two more to go. I can do this.”
The man beside you hums in agreement. “You most definitely can. And your efforts so far deserve a reward.”
You blink at him incredulously, “You were serious about that?”
“Why would I not be? Am I not a man of my word?” Before you can answer him, Luis turns your seated form to face him, your chair swiveling under his strength. He extends his hand to you with a warm smile, “Give me your hand, por favor.”
You couldn’t help but smile back, reaching for his hand and clasping it. He felt warm to the touch, a welcome contrast to the chilly air flowing in the laboratory. He squeezes your hand affectionately, “Now close your eyes.”
You tilt your head at his request, amused curiosity curving subtly upon your lips. He throws you a telling glance to follow his lead and you do as he says without any further resistance. For a moment, there was nothing and you wondered what he was doing until you felt the fan of his warm breath against your ear followed by a tender kiss upon your cheek.
It was only until you felt his breath leave you did you open your eyes, a look upon your face as if you were just waking from a trance. His face hovered by yours but was far enough where you can see him fully. His body hunched slightly over your seated form, his hand at the backrest of your chair, supporting his weight so that he doesn’t fall over you. The temperature of your body rises at his closeness.
He looks down at you through thick lashes. “A blessing of sorts,” he winks, explaining himself before you had the chance to inquire him on what he just did. “To lift your spirits and motivate you to keep going. Is it working?”
Now that he mentions it, the weariness that hung over you like a thick blanket felt lighter on your shoulders. There was no denying that his charismatic presence and comforting attention has put you at ease. The kiss certainly helps as well but you dare not admit that out loud. The man’s ego was big enough already, no need for you to stroke it. You had to mentally slap yourself from letting that line of thought drift to naughty waters.
Still in a distracted state from his tender affection, you merely nod in response. Your lover’s easygoing smile widens and he plants another chaste kiss. This time upon your lips. You felt you were in a daze before, now your mind went completely blank.
“Let me know when you’ve finished the next page,” you catch Luis say before he leaves you with your mouth slightly agape.
To say you were confounded was an understatement. The two of you have kissed plenty of times before in the past but never at work. You were not opposed to it, per se, and truthfully it stirred within you temptations begging to be explored. But you did not think that Luis would create openings for such temptations so casually. You wanted to confront him about it but can hear him typing away loudly at his own desk. Taking this as a sign to return to your own task, you go back to work as well.
This next part of your report should have been done faster. It was not as detail intensive as the last, yet there was no doubt that you lagged in completing it. You knew why too. You were completely and utterly distracted. Luis’ innocent gesture kept running to the forefront of your mind like a song on repeat. It was such a short instance too, you can hardly call it a meaningful interaction. But the memory of how his lips felt against yours lingered and it took a bit of extra mental effort to power through the next portion of your project. Eventually you succeeded.
With a huff, you lean back into your seat and announced your small success once more. “Alright! Another one down.”
“That’s great, mi corazon. Well done.”
Luis’ voice nearly makes you fall off your chair. When you look up, he was already leaning over your shoulder, glancing through your new entries with genuine intellectual interest. When did he walk back over to you? How long was he standing there?
“This is excellent stuff. I’m certain Wesker and the higher ups will be pleased with your research,” he smiles down at you in praise. “I believe another reward is in order.”
Without giving you a chance to recover let alone register his words, Luis grasps your chin between his fingers and turns your head towards him. Your dark-haired lover then adjusts his position to better angle himself as he leans down to capture your lips once more. This kiss started off gently before deepening gradually into something fiercer. His devilish tongue swipes along your bottom lip for invitation and snakes inside your responsive mouth to engage your wanting tongue in a slow, sensual dance.
Desire bubbled feverishly in the pit of your stomach and you nearly moan into his mouth, but the sound turns into a longing whimper when he pulls away from you. Again, much more quickly than you would have liked. His hypnotic grey eyes beholds your lustful expression appreciatively.
“Eres mi tesoro,” he says with a husky voice so low, the sound flows into your ears and soothes your senses into a tender lull. “Haces que yo quiera ser una mejor persona.”
You’ve heard Luis speak in his native tongue many times before. For him to use it to sing your praises with genuine adoration sent shivers across your body without fail, stimulating you from your exhausted state and sharpening your awareness until your only center of focus was him.
His hand shifts from your chin to your cheek, cradling your face lovingly, a warm gesture that reaches his eyes. “Last one. You got this.”
With that, he removes himself from your side a third time, returning to his own chair without a second glance. There was a hint of a smirk tugging at the end of his mouth that you had managed to catch before he turned from you completely. The loss of him making you pout longingly. Luis was right, though. You were almost at the finish line with your work. The sooner you complete this report, the sooner you can call it a day and see what the Spaniard had in store for you as the last installment of this reward system he erected for you. Just the thought of kissing him again filled you with eager determination. With a crack of your knuckles, you hover back to your keyboard once more.
You were screwed. Absolutely ruined. Ever since Luis left you wanting with that last mind-blowing kiss, you were unable to concentrate on your report at all. In fact, you haven’t typed a single new word. The last page has been completely blank for what seemed like an eternity, blaringly white in your screen. The blinking of the line waiting for your input taunts you along with the ticking of the overhead clock.
“Luis,” you call out to him in frustration.
“¿Sí, mi amor? What’s wrong?” You hear his voice echo back, noting your tone with mindful intrigue.
“I can’t do it,” you admit, a defeated groan escaping you. “I can’t finish this stupid report.”
His approaching footsteps pick up so rapidly that he’s next to you again in a matter of seconds, evident concern on his face.
“What happened?” Luis asked. “Did you discover contradictions in your variables?”
You shake your head, burying your face in both of your hands to hide the burning, shameful blush on your cheeks. Luis didn’t catch it right away, kneeling beside your hunched form and rubbing the tension from your back with a soothing hand.
“It’s all your fault,” you pout, glaring daggers at him. “Because of your and your damn positive reinforcement, I can’t focus!”
His look of worry quickly turned to confusion before realization sets in and his lips curve into a lecherous grin. “Oh, really?” he prods, looking so infuriatingly proud.
“Don’t you dare give me that look! Was this your intention all along?”
“To be perfectly honest, no. I really thought I came up with a good motivational tool to help you along,” he shrugs, his playful tone absent as he spoke, accentuating his genuity. “It appears, however, that my idea backfired.”
You shoot him a pointed look that practically shouted at him for his astonishing observation of the obvious. “Luis, I really do have to finish this report. But how can I do that when all I can think about is you.”
Luis wears an exaggerated expression of awe, his hand placed over his heart as if you just gave him a moving declaration of love. “¡Oh Dios mío! That is the most romantic thing anyone has ever said to me.” You nearly slapped him then and there but the Spaniard catches your wrist with a cheeky chuckle. “Sorry. Truly. Allow me to make it up to you.”
Still riding your mild frustration, you take his bait. “And how are you going to do that, huh?”
A playful glint in his eyes flash at your inquiry. “The way I see it, mi amor, I am the source of your distraction. There are two ways this can be resolved.”
Luis lifts one finger, “One. I can leave for the day and leave you to your own devices. Pero, I don’t think that will really help, in my humble opinion.” He lifts another. “Two. We get me out of your system.”
Already you knew where he was heading with that one but wanted clarification anyways. “You’re going to make me ask how you’re going to-”
He doesn’t wait for you to finish your sentence. He doesn’t wait for you to ask. Instead, he drags you from your chair to stand up before him and pulls you into his tight embrace before ensnaring you into another passionate kiss. Your body shudders from his talented mouth working wonders upon your senses, frustration dashed away for sensual need to take root. You are once again consumed with fervent desire, plunged into a pool of warmth. Luis had you under his mercy, but when he guided you both onto one of the medical chairs used for pharmaceutical testing, he was the one under you.
He holds you firmly against him, using his long legs to spread yours so that they hung loosely around his hips and dangled off the chair, effectively caging you around him. The entire time, not once have your lips separated and when they did, it was only to take in much needed air before diving back into one another. You loved kissing Luis, being with him like this set off sparks on you that you couldn’t compare to anything else. He teases you like it is a game of push and pull, but holds you like you are the only thing in the world to him. It was mix of sensations that fills you both with excitement and contentment, leaving you guessing of what he’ll do next but giving you comfort in knowing that everything he does is with your satisfaction in mind. And right now, he sought that for you both.
The evidence of his desire for you presses enthusiastically against your inner thigh. You can feel his arousal throbbing beneath the layers of fabric that separated you two. Luis groans sinfully against your mouth when you reflexively ground your hips on his sensitive organ. In turn, he squeezes the flesh of your ass daringly, pulling you closer into him while purposefully thrusting upwards, creating delicious friction. The pace he sets is slow and full of promise, rubbing along your sensitive area like a match burning at your core but not vigorously enough to set your carnal needs aflame, torturously teasing you from your release. You wanted more of him, you needed more of him.
But you remember where you are. And even though every part of your body screamed for you to succumb to your baser desires and engage in uninhibited pleasure with your Spanish lover- this wasn’t the place or the time for it.
“Luis-” you began. The man cuts you off with a kiss once more and your voice slips into another traitorous moan.
“Lo sé, mi amor, lo sé.” Luis whispers before pulling away, already knowing what you were going to say, peppering your jaw and neck with loving nips. “I am perfectly content with just this. Having you in my arms.”
A comfortable air settles between you two, allowing yourselves to calm down from your sexual high. With a heavy sigh, he rests his head upon your shoulder, not meeting your eyes.
“I’m sorry, mi corazon. I really did want to help.” Although his voice was hoarse with desire still, guilt riddled on the surface. You kissed the top of his head then, already forgiven him.
“You know,” you began to say, “this is an egregious misuse of this medical chair.”
He arches his thick brow at you, spirits lifting at your playful tone. “We were at it for awhile. You choose now to have a guilty conscience?”
His endearing smile returns to his handsome face when he sees you laughing at his words. One of his hands squeezes at your thigh to call back your attention. “Suppose we should move, eh? You still have that report to finish.”
You look down thoughtfully, pondering his suggestion before relaxing your body atop his, head resting on his shoulder. “I’m okay with staying like this for a little longer if you are.”
Luis chest rumbles in light-hearted humor at your decision but evidently had no complaints as he adjusted you both on the chair to make himself more comfortable. His arms wrap around you, drawing soothing patterns on your lower back as he rests his cheek against your head. You can feel his lips tug into a content smile.
“I like having you on top of me, anyways.” Immediately you snort unattractively and his voices pitches in curiosity. “What? What did I say?”
“Nothing, sorry.” you apologize, failing beautifully in choking your laughter down. “Forget you heard that.”
“C’mon. Tell me. I want to know.”
You lift yourself slightly to look him straight in the eyes, a tinge of red on your cheeks in growing embarrassment. “Promise not to take it the wrong way?”
He observes your expression with unrestrained curiosity. “Lo prometo. Now, what is it?”
“I just…” you trail off for a moment, biting your lip. “The way you said how you liked our current position, it sounded like you admitted to being the submissive type.”
You watched his amused curiosity fall down to that of pure, unadulterated shock. For a moment, you thought you’ve gone too far with your honesty. However, as if driven by masculine pride, Luis lifts you both up from the chair with a strength that astonishes you and places you to take his spot against the now warmed cushion.
You were not sure if what came after was meant to be a sort of punishment or more positive reinforcement. But you did not have any complaints and were so blissfully exhausted the following morning, it was a miracle you ever managed to finish your report on time. Upon submitting it, Luis used his charm to ensure you time off so that you can enjoy some much deserved rest. To your surprise, he took the rest of the day off too and went home with you with some more rewards in mind.

Whumptober Day 17: Collar, Touch aversion
I’m not late, I merely ran out of time to upload this last night. I finished it yesterday it’s all good. We’re good. Perfectly fine. (<- girl who hasn’t even started on today’s yet)
Anyway I thought too hard about my theory of Dink getting empowered from Twilight’s injury and uhhhh. Yeah. Here’s this. It’s on the heavier side again.
Read on ao3
Warnings: captivity, implied torture, blood and injury, and discussion of death
———————————————————
Eight heroes stood outside of a large, dark structure, surrounded by trees that blocked out the sunlight.
The limited light cast the area into what felt like perpetual twilight, grim and dark, and Time looked up at the ruins with a tight feeling in his gut.
“I’ll bet you anything our missing hero is in there,” Legend murmured, and Time nodded, trying not to fidget with discomfort.
Something cold and dark was in the very air around them, something that made Hyrule pale, and Sky hold a little more tightly to his sword. It was dark magic, Time knew, but that only helped solidify to him that something was very wrong here.
They’d landed in the unfamiliar Hyrule a few days ago, all surprised when nobody could identify it. It had been months since they’d last gained another hero, and Time had thought for sure that eight was as large as their group was going to get.
But as they’d traveled around and spoken to people, it became clear there was another hero they hadn’t yet seen.
One who’d apparently been missing for as long as they’d been traveling together.
They had begun to search for him, and followed a sparse trail of clues to a place off the map they’d been given, and as Tine looked up at the dark ruins, he felt a heavy sense of dread settle upon him.
Are you in there, Link?
“You really think he’s here?” Hyrule asked quietly, and Time nodded.
“I do. Making it this far was extremely difficult... I would be shocked if he weren’t.”
“But remember what Rusl said?” Wild spoke up quietly. “The Hero here has been missing for months. What are the odds that we’d find him in the space of barely a week? Just like that?”
“What are the odds that any of us would ever meet in the first place?” Four countered with, and before Warriors could say whatever it was he’d opened his mouth to voice, Four plowed on. “There must be a reason. Just like everything else.”
“And I can feel a pull,” Sky said in a quiet voice. “One I’ve only felt with all of you.”
“Enough chatter, let’s go already,” Wind said impatiently, and they went inside the falling-apart structure, steps echoing off dirty floors.
They paused at the first split path and argued for a moment about whether sticking together or splitting up was best, but before Warriors and Legend could start shouting and alert whatever was here to their presence, Time decided splitting in half was the best way to search quickly. There seemed to be two main sections of the ruins anyway, and the two reluctantly agreed.
“Stay on guard,” Warriors murmured before they split, and they all nodded. You don’t have to tell me twice.
Time ended up with Sky, Wild, and Four in his group, and they trooped quietly through the vine-filled hallways, and down stairwells full of cobwebs and dirt.
The feeling of unease grew more and more heavy the deeper they went, and Time caught Sky clenching at his sword more than once. It was oddly oppressive in here, despite the plants that crept through cracks, and spiders in the corners, like a shadow was cast all over the entire structure.
It just felt... wrong.
“Wait, shh,” Wild said suddenly as they entered a particularly long hallway.
Time stopped walking, and Wild crept forward, his ears pricked. He turned towards a small grate in the floor, and crouched beside it, his face creasing as he listened. Wild motioned them over after a moment, and they all kneeled beside the tiny grate, listening intently.
The faint sound of someone talking echoed up through the floor, and Time strained his ears, trying to make out the words. He couldn’t hear anything though, but with the way Wild’s face was paling, he was fairly certain he could.
“It’s the Shadow,” Wild said after a moment, voice grim as he pressed his ear to the grate. “Something about... power, I think? Power and... enemies. Wait—”
He went quiet again, and as the minutes dragged on, his eyes widened.
“Time... I think he’s talking to the hero.”
Wild suddenly jerked back from the grate, and they all heard the agonized scream that came from below, no less horrible because of how far away it was.
Sky paled, and Time scrambled to his feet, the others right beside him.
“Look for stairs,” Time said in a short voice, and they all ran down the hallway, searching for doors.
It took them a long time to find one that led downwards, and by the time they did, the screams had stopped, along with the talking. There was no sound at all, and Time hoped desperately they weren’t too late.
They cautiously stole down the flight of stairs, moving quickly, but wary of going too fast and alerting the enemy to their presence. They were a long, spiraling set, and some stairs had crumbled, leaving gaping holes they had to sidle around.
The time it took them to go down seemed much too long, and Time guessed they were deep underground now, having gone down several floors. It was almost completely silent, and the dread tightened in his chest.
Let us not be too late, please.
The stairs spat them into a pitch black hall, the sound of water dripping somewhere nearby. They listened for any movement, but none was heard, and Four cautiously pulled out a lantern.
An old dungeon met their eyes, light glinting off of metal bars, largely rusted and bent. Nobody spoke as they stepped quietly down the hallway, and the oppressive stench of dark magic was even heavier. Time spared a thought towards Hyrule as they walked, glad he had gone with the other group.
If I’m feeling this awful, I can only imagine how bad it would be for him.
They reached a partially collapsed wall then, making it difficult to squeeze by, but they all managed, though Time had to pop off a few pieces of armor. The cell at the end of the hallway was only a bit further along, but Time froze, holding a hand out to stop the others.
Eyes were glinting at them from behind the thick bars.
“Hello?” Sky asked in a cautious voice, and Time carefully approached the cell when they received no answer, squinting through the low light. He reached the bars and peered through, and felt equal relief and horror rise in his chest.
A thin man, boy really, barely into his twenties at Time’s guess, stared at them, his face pale with dark lines etched onto his forehead. It was difficult to tell with the limited light, but Time could make out chains around both his neck and wrists, and blood, both dried and not, all over him.
“...Link?” he breathed, but the boy only closed his eyes.
“Here,” Four said quietly, him and the others having come up to Time’s side. He knelt at the lock on the door, holding some small metal rods, and a few moments later, had the door swinging open.
Time quickly took a step inside, but the boy bared his teeth in a snarl as he moved, something fierce and desperate in his eyes.
Time quickly stilled.
“Link?” he asked again, and the boy merely turned away, as much as he could with the way he was chained up.
“...Tricks are getting old,” he rasped, the same twang they’d encountered in Ordon coming through. “Could at least try somethin’ new.”
Time glanced at the others, and Sky made a helpless gesture.
“I’m not sure what you mean, Link,” Time said carefully, and the chained hero coughed out a laugh.
“That’s what they said last time. Always fake,” he rasped, and glared at Time, half-dried blood shining in the lantern light. “Not tricking me again.”
“We’re not a trick, we’re real,” Wild said sharply, moving to stand next to Time.
“You’re gettin’ way less creative,” Link rasped, eyes staring them dully. “Points for new characters... but that’s it.”
“But we’re really real, we’re here to get you out!” Sky said in disbelief.
The new Link only closed his eyes again. “Sure.”
They all looked at each other again, Time feeling helpless. He didn’t want to approach Link before he knew they were truly here to help him, but he thought they were just a trick. How could they convinced the broken hero they weren’t here to hurt him?
How many times has he extended trust to someone, and had it all been fake to react like this?
“Link, we’re here to help you,” Time tried again, extending a hand towards him. Link only bared his teeth again, and Time could see the slightly longer canines this time.
“Get away Shade,” he snapped, and Time stopped as he let out a wracking cough. “I’m not falling for it. Not again.”
“Link, is there anything we can do to convince you we’re real?” Four spoke up, and the hero stared at him.
He didn’t say anything for a long time, and Time almost wondered if he was purposely ignoring them.
“Kill me.”
Four took a step back. “What?”
“Kill me,” Link repeated, a thread of desperation leaking in to his abused voice. “The Shadow won’t, if you do then... I’ll know you’re not him.”
“But then you’ll be dead!” Sky said in horror, and Link let out a croaking laugh, that finished with a sound like a sob.
“I’m already not living.”
Four didn’t say anything, and Link looked away, his eyes closed against the lantern light.
“Old man? What now?” Wild asked in an unusually subdued voice, and Time took a deep breath, trying to ignore the metallic smell of blood that permeated the cell.
What now indeed?
“We spoke with Rusl before coming here,” Time said quietly, and the boy’s ears twitched in his direction. “And Ilia, and the mayor, and a boy named Talo and all sorts of people. Your whole village misses you, Link, they’ve been looking nonstop. The Queen has sent out countless missions, and the Resistance is working tirelessly to figure out what happened to you.”
“How... do you know all that?” Link whispered.
“Because we’re real,” Wild said as he stepped forward. “We spoke to all those people, not more than a week ago.”
“We’re other heroes like you,” Four continued, and Sky took his glove off, showing Link the triangles marked into his hand. He stared in shock. “This isn’t even all of us. We’re fighting to stop the Shadow who imprisoned you, who’s been ripping holes through time and empowering the monsters. We’re on your side.”
“We’re here to get you out,” Time finished, voice firm.
Link looked around at them all, something almost like hope in his eyes, and he swallowed, looking directly at Time.
“Tell me what Talo said.”
His voice trembled when he spoke.
“He said that if we find you, we should tell you that he expects make up days for all the sword lessons he’s missed,” Time said, and Link breathed out, closing his eyes again.
“Yeah. That’s him,” he whispered.
A weak laugh came from his throat, and Time stepped forward again, Link not stopping him. His eyes stayed closed as Time kneeled next to him, but his ears twitched as he listened to his steps.
“We’re here to get you out,” Time said softly, and placed a hand on Link’s shoulder.
Link jerked at the touch, and Time immediately removed his hand, but then Link looked up at him with tears in his eyes.
“Sorry, s-sorry it’s... it’s been...” he choked out, and Time carefully put his hand back on his shoulder, Link stiffening at the touch, but not pulling away.
Time carefully rubbed it as the others drew near, and Link swallowed, trembling slightly as they crouched beside him.
“You’re really heroes?” he whispered, and Sky nodded, a grieved look on his face.
“Every one of us.”
Four leaned closer then and studied the collar around his neck with a frown, carefully lifting the chain and studying it.
“Where’s the lock on these?” he asked in confusion.
“It’s magic,” Link rasped, seeming twice as exhausted now that he’d been convinced of their intentions. “Won’t come off.”
Sky stepped forward, a firm look on his face as he kneeled beside Link with the Master Sword in his hands.
“May I?” he asked, and Link’s eyes widened at the sword. He hesitated, then gave him a weak nod, and Sky moved into position.
Sky held the sword close to Link’s neck, Four carefully holding the chain steady, and he pulled, the Master Sword glowing and making the blood Link was coated in appear blue.
The collar suddenly lit up with runes, glowing an ugly red, and Link cried out, jerking like he’d been shocked.
“Hold him!” Sky shouted, and Time and Wild moved to hold Link’s head still while the Master Sword slowly cut through the chains. Link jerked at their touch, and let out a raspy scream as Sky cut halfway, blue sparks flying into the air.
“You’re okay, you’re okay,” Wild repeated as he held Link’s head, almost like he was trying to reassure himself, and Link wailed, his voice giving out partway through from the strain.
Time held him still, ignoring the blood and dirt he was doubtlessly getting all over him, and ran a hand through his hair when he let out yet another cry.
Hold on Link, you’re almost out.
The Master Sword let out a brighter glow, and the chain fell with a clank, Link falling limp and trembling in Time’s lap. The runes faded, and Sky quickly moved to his wrists and cut through those as well, though the thinner chains didn’t take nearly as long to fall to the ground.
“It’s done,” Sky panted finally, and Link let out a whimper.
“We should tell the others,” Four said quietly. “And hopefully get out of here before the Shadow comes back.”
Wild nodded and pulled out his slate, and Time and Sky began easing Link up, his face drawn with pain. Time tried not to nudge any of the vast amount of injuries covering him, but it was nearly impossible with how many there were.
Not to mention the countless scars visible through the blood, and the dark marks marring his forehead...
Time breathed out, and then picked him up, his gauntlets giving him enough strength to easily lift Link. Though, he wasn’t entirely convinced he needed them, seeing how thin Link looked.
How long has he been here?
“Let’s get you home,” Sky said quietly, and they left the cell, Wild talking quietly to Wind on his slate.
“Thank you,” Link croaked, in a voice so faint Time barely heard it. Time guided his head to his shoulder in response, feeling a sharp pang as Link flinched, and he sped his steps.
We’re getting you out, Link.
You’re safe now.

A Christmas to Remember (4)
Tumblr media
Their daughter comes to town to meet Rebecca, they spend a week together and head to the fair. Before going, a unexpected surprise happens.
WARNING: hallmark cringe if ykyk, talk of past relationships, subtle angst, grief, a Christmas bakery (yes that’s a warning 😀)
✩。:•.───── ❁ ❁ ─────.•:。✩
Their daughter was in fact the spitting image of y/n, except she had Rebecca’s loving eyes and her temper. She even inherited that goofy smile y/n loved so dearly. One year, she had dyed her hair blonde and y/n almost sobbed realizing how much she had looked like Rebecca. Paget was her name, she was a precious thing. She may have inherited y/n looks but she was given Rebecca’s spirit. Paget had been attached to Rebecca since the moment she arrived a week ago, it certainly was heart-warming. They didn’t struggle to connect at all. They were truly mother and daughter. Paget was a curious girl always asking questions. Rebecca smiled and chuckled as she sometimes didn’t even finish her first question before moving on to the next. “Honey, how about you go wash up so we can head to the fair?” Y/n smiled, Paget smiled and nodded, walking away leaving Rebecca and y/n alone. “You’re a natural” Y/n teased, elbowing the tall blonde playfully letting out a small chuckle, “This is all I wanted, it really is. Having a family…” she trailed off, looking y/n doing that upsidedown smile she always did, “..with the love of my life” her eyes seemed to glitter, y/n’s face softened, immediately cracking a joke, “Love of your life? Baby, you haven’t even proposed yet” she laughed, kissing Rebecca’s reddened nose. Rebecca had that charming smirk,
“Speaking of..”
She knelt down on the soft snow, “marry me?”
———
That was how it started, the beginning of something new and special. Y/n had wanted to marry this woman the moment she realized she’d fallen. Fantasizing about their wedding and obbsessing over the color of their house. How many children they’d have, if they would grow old together. There was something magical in the way Rebecca had loved. There was a tenderness in her voice that she only had for y/n. Their hearts beat for each other, they were the great love story.
As time passed, they grew apart physically but their hearts aches for the other. Y/n lived in New York leaving this small town behind. This small town that had given her the best memories no one could give her. Their love was pure, their love was true. And there was no way that y/n could say no.
“Yes, Becca. Of course, I’ll marry you!” She cried, her arm immediately wrapping around Rebecca, the tall blonde embraced y/n as she stood up, exhaling with relief. “I thought you were about to say no” she smiled, laughing as she slipped the gorgeous ring on y/n’s finger, “I could never! Not to you, my love” she replied, smiling and kissing Rebecca’s face all over. It left a few marks of lipgloss on Rebecca’s face. “I love you, Rebecca Welton”

Literally so short but I had to get this out :,)
