To the point he doesn’t know how to not think about it.

When it comes down to you having a panic attack he would immediately spring into action. He wouldn’t do anything too brash and focus on you calming down. He would ether ask what you see or ask to breathe. But sometimes he would just hold your and give you time to calm down on your own. While feeling his comforting grip. When you calm down he would pull you into a hug. Comforting you with some of the sweetest moments you had to the sweetest words he says. He would be there for YOU! And focus on you. He’d even ditch a mission just to comfort you and make sure you’re ok. He doesn’t like to see you cry or be sad. It hurts him. More than you ever know.

Lloyd would allow you to set some boundaries. Even when dating or married. He’ll listen carefully and take them to heart as to not make you feel uncomfortable in anyway. Sometimes when he sees others disrespect your boundaries. He immediately goes to tell them to back off. He wants you to feel respected and with that he hopes you also respect your as well. Cause self respect is important.

Lloyds boundaries are not always so clear. Sometimes he will get uncomfortable unexpectedly due to a certain situation. When starting the relationship he asks if you have certain boundaries he’d like to follow. After explaining yours he’ll then explain his. He wants to feel respected along with wanting you to feel respected as well.

Honesty, he’s not at all used to being tired and drained after missions. He’s crucial to the party but, hey, he keeps his energy up all the time for performing – he only really crashes after nights spent with his escapades.

But shit, this mission? He had to preform for twenty hours straight. No breaks, no nothing.

By the time he’s done, he’s so tired Pike has to carry him into the cart. Sure, she kinda tosses him in the corner and goes to talk to Grog, but it’s the thought that counts or something.

You go to check on the barely awake Scanlan and get him to drink something.

He barely manages a “hey babe…” before he’s got his head on your lap and arms around your waist – and is out fucking cold.

Percy and Pike are taking turns driving and Pike warns VM that you’re in for a long night – even if you guys travel all night, it’s still about another two days travel back to the keep.

From there, Kiki and Vex will start to argue about how they could have used Kiki’s tree spell, but no Kiki is too attached to the horses to leave them.

Admittedly, it’s entertaining to watch them bicker and passes the time… because Scanlan doesn’t wake up until noon the next day.

“’Sup darlin’… how long was I out for?”

He’s definitely the least embarrassed of anybody in this position. Waking up in his crush’s lap? That’s a win.

Now, despite the fact that he was the one out cold, he’ll insist that he was only tired because everything you two did last night ;)))))

And Vex immediately yells “oh, you mean all the snoring? Sounds tiring.”

“Shut up Vex!”

Death explains to the man that the masquerade is the life humans life and the animals represent shame and such.

By now, Percy’s come to bed and has put his head on your lap as you read to him. You put your hand in his hair and comb his messy hair.

You’re barely another sentence in by the time he starts snoring, one of his hands grabbing yours and the other around your thigh.

It’s not until the next morning when he wakes up. He’s still tired af and sort of loopy, just keeping his head there for a minute before asking “…What day is it?”

You tell him that it’s Winterscrest and there’s some festivities planned for the day.

He lays there a little while, wondering if he wants to get up and deal with VM and his sister or just… lay in bed and enjoy the view of the snow from the warmth of bed.

The latter is absolutely, 50000% his choice.

He does apologize for trapping you in bed all night, and if you’d like to go out to Winterscrest then he won’t make you stay.

You simply invite him under the covers and ask if he wants to go back to sleep or talk.

He insists its up to you; he’s just happy that you’re both there and safe.

Vax’ildan

Let’s be real. Vax has been taking care of him and Vex and Trinket for years. He’s used to being the one to make sure Vex gets enough sleep and eats and covers her arm for recoil when shooting.

Even as VM formed, he got used to making sure everybody was okay. Making sure Grog got to bed after getting drunk af. Making sure Scanlan didn’t play too long and injure his wrist or fingers. Etc etc

Vex has taken care of him pretty often too, but she knows he’s not used to being the one who needs taken care of.

So when a mission ends with a warlock casting a sickness spell on Vax and Pike isn’t around to heal him, he’s not doing great.

Percy insists on keeping you all at an inn until they can get Pike or another healer powerful enough to help there.

You’re worried as hell, but Keyleth insists that, since you don’t know what it is or if it’s contagious, that VM should stay out of there to the best of their abilities.

Well, Vex isn’t gonna listen.

And, not that the advice is given to him, but Vax won’t either.

He’s dosed up on herbs and medicine that Vex hoped would help and he’s loopy as all shit.

His entire life he’s gotten used to sneaking around so his mama didn’t catch him, so Vex didn’t, so his horrid father didn’t.

So he sneaks out of his room with ease and comes to see you.

He’s in your room without any noise and easily could have stayed hidden, or greeted you with something better than a dazed “heyyyyyyyyy…..”

You know he’s sick, and you know it might get you sick, but he reaches out and will kinda grab at you without moving; “grabby hands.”

Very. Insistent. Grabby hands.

You’ll let him lay down and he passes out the second his head is on your chest.

It isn’t much later when Pike gets there and easily finds where Vax has gone. A few healing spells and prayers to Sarenrae and he seems so much better.

She knows the spell cast on him and gives you a quick run down; not contagious. It’s a blood thing that “thickens” the blood and so it is harder for the blood to be pumped through the body.

(I made that up on the fly, I know it doesn’t make sense)

A quick spell or two ‘thins’ the blood back to the way it should be. He’s just tired and should be good the next morning.

She’s got things to do, she’s basically the champion of the Everlight, so she’ll give both you and Vax quick forehead kisses before leaving.

Vax wakes up with the sun, something that he’s done basically every day of his life. Usually, he’ll get up and stretch and make a healthy meal. Some yoga, maybe some singing to warm up his voice.

Today it’s just “…oh gods, what did I do last night???” He’s blushy and embarrassed, assuming he had gotten drunk and succeeded in bedding you. “I’m as bad as Scanlan-”

You cut him off and explain, no, there was the warlock that hit him with a spell and it got him sick, but Pike visited and he’s better now.

“So, I was sick… Explains why I’m so tired…” And he’ll nuzzle against your neck and stay like that, pretty comfy and happy.

Q!BBH and Generational Trauma

For a long time this has been something I’ve noticed in the halo family that I’ve strongly related to. Idk if it’s an intentional theme bbh and Dapmin (and pommin but im mainly gonna focus on Dapper) put into their characters but it’s definitely there. So heres my perspective on bbh’s character arc so far observed through a lens of generational trauma.

(Quick side note. Writing this post was a journey tm and my initial view of bbh and god’s relationship and what the afterlife scene meant shifts dramatically half way through XD)

Even if a parent does everything right, they will still hurt their children. It’s part of the job. It’s part of life. Even if we choose to be better than our parents, the scars they left will bleed onto our children. I think every family has an element of generational trauma - I certainly do but im not gonna trauma dump on yall - but the severity of it is a spectrum.

Q!bbh was cast from his home due to the conditional love of God/the Father and this has left a clear impact on him. His self worth is in the gutter and he lacked a sense of purpose. According to everything we know of bbh’s life before the island, he didnt really care for much of anything other than finding the next source of entertainment - i mean, he remembers the salem witch trials fondly because of the drama of it all regardless of the fact that hundreds of innocent women were murdered.

Was God being intentionally cruel or abusive? Probably not. From His perspective, he may see casting his angels from heaven as a temporary punishment - like spanking a child for throwing a tantrum - without really understanding the damage such treatment is actually doing. He isnt teaching his children the lesson he thought he was just as spanking a child doesnt teach them to behave, only to fear. Bbh redeemed himself in the eyes of the Father and thus was granted the choice to return home. The Father was doing his child a kindness, he was welcoming his lost angel back home because what fallen angel would ever choose anything other than Elysium? And thats the point of conflict. The Father thinks he is doing right by his child but hes only causing bbh more pain. Bbh has to choose between his own children and eternal salvation (that he knows can be taken away on a whim). His heart has been severed in two.

Bbh’s wounds from his disownment run so deep he doesnt even notice them and thus, doesnt notice how they impact his children. Dapper has taken after so many of bbh’s characteristics and a complete lack of self worth is one of them. Selflessness to the point of self annihilation. The fear of being a burden. The need to feel useful otherwise why am i even alive? Dapper was borderline suicidal because they felt useless and nearly killed themself trying to be useful by farming soul hearts and they learned all of this behavior from Bad. Bbh showed Dapper unconditional love but it wasnt enough. Bbh couldnt save Dapper from his own trauma.

Breaking cycles of generational trauma takes more than just realizing how you were raised didnt work and trying something else. Bbh never healed from the wounds left by the Father and thus they were passed down to his own son.

When i started writing this analysis, i thought that this was the tragedy between bbh and the Father. God was too stuck in his ways to understand what His child needs, what would truly make bbh happy. I thought that the Father had not changed. His love remained conditional. Bbh could only come home if he chose god/heaven. The door might be closed next time. This is his only chance of coming home. But now after laying it all out like this… it made me wonder why the Father decided now of all times was when bbh redeemed himself. My initial cynical reading was that the Father was putting bbh through a test of loyalty. He only truly earned his redemption if he would abandon his children in favor of god/heaven but now… i can see a more hopeful reading.

God watched bbh become a father. He watched bbh become a better person through fatherhood. He also watched as the trauma He caused was passed onto bbh’s child. If the Father wanted bbh to come home because he’d redeemed himself, then the Father could have snapped bbh away at any time. Perhaps thats what He would have done 14,000 years ago when bbh first fell. What if the Father recognized his mistake? What if this was His attempt to fix things after seeing just how much damage He’d done? What if he did finally understand what bbh truly needed?

Bbh was stuck in his trauma because he lacked agency in his current state. The Father still had all the power between them by holding heaven hostage. The only way bbh could ever start to heal from this damage was if he was given back the choice that was made for him. Bbh needed to choose one way or another in order for him to take the first step towards healing even if it causes him anguish in the moment. He needed the choice. He needed the freedom to refuse.

But giving freedom to your children can be scary. What if they make the wrong choice? What if they screw up and ruin everything? For a god who expects perfection from his children, freedom must be terrifying. Giving His children freedom means giving them the option to turn away from him. But that is part of being a parent.

What if unlocking the gates was an apology? Im sorry i hurt you. Im sorry i made this choice for you. I see you. I wont take this choice from you again. Its too late to change the past but you can change the future. Dont make my same mistakes.

What if it was a gift? God relinquished his leverage over bbh and gave him the option to come home. An opportunity for bbh to break the cycle. A chance for bbh to make a choice for himself for once. To free him of the shackles that tied him to God. To heal and stop his own son from continuing the cycle of generational trauma.

After all, the greatest gift a god can give is the freedom to choose one’s own destiny.

If you're having bad days, take a long deep breath, take a glass of water, or go walk to enjoy nature. Sometimes bad things doesnt always bad forever 👐🏻 Its okay to be sad, but dont forget to take care abt yourself too, dont forget to stand up again after take a rest from your emotion. You can treat yourself with something sweets to make yourself better, or doing anything positive to not keep ourself miserable again. Or at least, that can distract from our problem for a while. Hope yall having a good days after we've been through ✨✨
